Vance Clarifies Stance on J6 Pardons After Earlier Comments Drew Criticism

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Vice President-elect JD Vance took to X on Sunday to clarify his earlier comments about which Jan. 6 defendants should receive pardons from President-elect Donald Trump. 

Some of Vance’s supporters took issue with his comments on Fox News Sunday, where he implied that individuals who committed “violent assault” on Jan. 6 will not be pardoned. 

In response to the criticism, Vance clarified that he is a strong supporter of the defendants and promised that those who the DOJ has mistreated will be taken care of. 

“I assure you, we care about people unjustly locked up,” Vance wrote. “Yes, that includes people provoked and it includes people who got a garbage trial.” 

His comment was directed at internet personalities Keith and Kevin Hodge, also known as Hodgetwins, who warned that Vance “better rethink” his comments, referencing the apparent shooting of innocent people at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. 

Earlier in his post, Vance commented, “First of all, I donated to the to the [sic] J6 political prisoner fund and got ROASTED for it during my senate race. I’ve been defending these guys for years.” 

He added, “Second, there were federal informants in the crowd. Do they get a pardon? I don’t think so. The president saying he’ll look at each case (and me saying the same) is not some walkback.” 

Trump has pledged to issue pardons to Jan. 6 defendants who have been aggressively prosecuted by President Joe Biden’s DOJ.  

The DOJ claims that the protestors attempted to overturn the certification of the highly contested 2020 presidential election. Democrats and the legacy media have described the mostly peaceful protest as a so-called insurrection. 

An overwhelming majority of Jan. 6 defendants have been charged for merely stepping foot into the U.S. Capitol that day. 

Prosecutors have charged over 1,583 individuals for offenses related to the protest. Approximately 1,334 of them have been charged with “entering or remaining in a restricted federal building or grounds.”

At least 133 individuals have been charged with possessing “deadly or dangerous” weapons or for “causing serious bodily injury to an officer.” 

The DOJ’s stance on the Jan. 6 defendants is a stark contrast to their lenient and nonexistent prosecution of Black Lives Matter rioters who burned down police presidents and federal courthouses during Trump’s first term.

Michael Cohen’s Pardon Request Exposes MSNBC Host’s Blatant Hypocrisy

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) An MSNBC host exposed the absurdity of President Joe Biden’s pardon of his son, Hunter Biden, during a Saturday segment with disgraced former attorney Michael Cohen. 

Symone D. Sanders Townsend, the co-host of MSNBC’s The Weekend, shut down Cohen’s demands for a presidential pardon similar to Hunter Biden’s. Cohen expressed concerns that President-elect Donald Trump might order a criminal probe into his conduct. 

“I put in the application for a presidential pardon because I believe that Joe Biden has the same responsibility to me that he had to his own son,” Cohen said, according to a transcript shared by conservative media watchdog Media Research Center (MRC). 

“I would expect that the same exact pardon that he gave his son has to go to me,” Cohen added, referring to Biden’s blanket pardon of Hunter, which covered offenses potentially committed over more than a decade. 

Sanders Townsend, who previously served as a spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris, responded by claiming Cohen was not Hunter, implying the latter is entitled to special treatment. 

“I am struck by your, your, your, your comparing yourself and Hunter Biden,” Sanders claimed. “And I wonder if, well, I’m going to tell you, Michael Cohen … I don’t necessarily think that’s your best way to go get a pardon. I mean, Hunter Biden is the president’s last surviving son.” 

“I’m also somebody’s son,” Cohen replied, to which Sanders retorted: “Agreed. You are somebody’s son. But to be very clear, you’re not the president’s son.” 

Sanders Townsend’s comments mirrored the defense used by the legacy media and some Democrats to justify Biden’s use of his office to spare his son from sentencing over two guilty pleas for tax violations and false statements in a federal gun purchase form. 

Democrats claim that the pardon—which Republicans have described as a gross abuse of power—was permissible because Hunter was Biden’s last living son.

The MRC noted that the “irony and hypocrisy of Symone’s words were lost on her.” The watchdog noted that Sanders had previously complained that “there’s not equal justice under the law” because Trump would not face jail time for his Manhattan criminal case. 

Manhattan Judge Juan Merchan ruled that Trump cannot be sentenced to prison because he will be sworn in as the 47th president on Jan. 20, 2025. 

Sanders did not immediately respond to Headline USA’s request for comments sent after business hours, which sought clarification for the apparent double standard in her remarks about Trump and Hunter.

Kamala Called ‘Petty’ for Cropping Trump from Carter Funeral Photo

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris appears to hold disdain for her former opponent President-elect Donald Trump, as she cropped him out of a group photo of U.S. leaders taken at former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral. 

The photo, shared on Harris’s official social media platforms on Saturday, included President Joe Biden and former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. Trump, who stood beside Obama in the original photo, was notably absent.  

Critics quickly accused Harris of intentionally snubbing Trump. The photo was taken at the Washington National Cathedral, where several world leaders and U.S. politicians met to honor Carter, who passed away on Dec. 28, 2024, at 101.

“President Jimmy Carter loved our country. He lived his faith, served the people, and left the world better than he found it,” Harris wrote in a post, which has amassed over 5.2 million views on X. “President Carter’s many contributions will echo for generations to come.” 

Several prominent conservative voices accused Harris of being “bitter” over her loss to Trump in the 2024 presidential election. 

“Kamala, you are a petty POS,” West Virginia senatorial candidate Derrick Evans wrote, using an acronym for an insult. 

“You cropped out President Trump and his family. All because you were not able to steal another election from him. You will always be known as the DEI pick who slept your way to the top of the illegitimate Biden regime,” Evans added. 

Political scientist and author Ian Bremmer said that it was “tacky to crop Trump out, however much you don’t like him.” 

Republican communications strategist Steve Guest echoed these sentiments, writing, “This is what a sore loser looks like.” 

Former RSNB news writer Ashley Muñoz mocked Harris by referencing her 2024 defeat: “Oh, Kamala…you cropped out President Trump and his wife? Thats ok. The United States cropped you out of the White House.” 

The backlash came just days after Harris faced criticism for her apparent discomfort with Obama holding friendly conversations with Trump during the funeral. 

A clip from C-SPAN showed Harris standing near the cathedral’s chancel as Obama and Trump chatted. Harris briefly turned to glance at the two leaders before turning back with a straight face.

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Lara Trump, former co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), suggested in an interview released Saturday that the first female president would be a Republican.

The president-elect’s daughter-in-law told the New York Post, “I actually believe our first female president will be a Republican” — but emphasized that gender would not be the determining factor in her election.

Following Vice President Kamala Harris’s historic election loss to Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton took aim at identity policies. Like Lara Trump later did, Clinton predicted a GOP woman would be elected as president before a Democrat takes the role.

Clinton’s wife, 2016 presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, was one of two Democrat woman nominees who failed to win over American voters.

Lara Trump went on to tell the outlet about Trump’s treatment of women, calling him a “man who cares about women.” She credited her father-in-law for giving her a chance to succeed based on her merit rather than her gender.

“Donald Trump helped me get to where I am today. And he’s a constant champion for women with whom he surrounds himself.”

Despite Harris surrogate Mark Cuban’s virally reviled remark before Nov. 5, 2024 that no “strong, intelligent women” support Trump, the president-elect made headlines appointing several “strong women” to key administration roles — including chief of staff Susie Wiles, press secretary Karoline Leavitt, and cabinet nominees such as Kristi Noem and Linda McMahon.

Lara Trump said, “I think that’s what people who get to know Donald Trump appreciate: He doesn’t care what you look like, he doesn’t care about your religion, he doesn’t care about your gender, he doesn’t care who you love.”

“He cares about whether or not you are going to be able to perform a job to your best ability,” the former RNC co-chair continued, telling the outlet Trump’s approach is “something I appreciate as a woman because I never want someone to give me a job because of my gender.”

VP Vance Says ‘Hopefully Everyone is Cool’ w/ Him Skipping Trump’s Inauguration

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Vice President-elect J.D. Vance said “hopefully everyone is cool” with him skipping President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration for a college football game.

After Ohio State University defeated the University of Texas (UT) in the College Football Playoff semifinal, Vance, a former senator from Ohio, joked on Friday that he may have a scheduling conflict come Jan. 20.

“Hopefully everyone is cool with me skipping the inauguration so I can go to the national title game,” Vance wrote on X after the Buckeyes advanced to the championship game.

Vance, a proud Ohio State alumnus, said in August that this season’s Buckeyes team is likely “the best” in a long time, according to the New York Post.

The vice president-elect responded to his own social media post by sharing a meme presenting two options: “Attend your own inauguration” or “Go watch the Buckeyes win a national title.”

Ohio State is set to face off against Notre Dame in the Jan. 20 college football national championship at 7:30 p.m. The event falls on the same day as Trump’s swearing-in ceremony, which is slated to start at noon.

Ohio State’s win marked Vance’s victory in a bet with Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, who must deliver the vice president-elect beer and food from Ohio while wearing a Buckeyes jersey.

Cruz challenged the former Ohio senator to bet on Tuesday via social media post, asking him, “Hey @JDVance — care for a wager on the UT-Ohio State game? Loser brings beer & food from his home state & delivers it wearing the winning jersey?”

Vance took on the GOP senator’s wager, firing back to his friend by saying, “Alright which Texas ice cream should I have Ted bring when the Buckeyes win?”

Per Cruz’s post, Vance looks forward to receiving Blue Bell ice cream with Texas BBQ & Shiner Bock beer — served by a Texan in an Ohio State jersey.

Greenland ‘Ready to Talk’ to Trump Team About Cooperating w/ US

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Greenland Prime Minister Múte Egede said Friday he is “ready to talk” to President-elect Donald Trump’s team about cooperating with the U.S.

Trump suggested buying Greenland in late December to safeguard “national security and freedom throughout the world.” Since then, the president-elect’s son, Donald Trump Jr., visited Greenland as Trump told reporters Tuesday that he would not rule out military or economic coercion for the U.S. to cinch the territory from China’s growing influence.

Although Greenland’s leader balked at the idea of his people becoming American, he expressed willingness to engage in negotiations with Trump about the future of his resource-rich arctic landmass, according to the New York Post.

“We are ready to talk,” Egede said during a press conference in Denmark. “Cooperation is about dialogue. Cooperation means that you will work toward solutions.”

Egede acknowledged that Greenland was “a place that Americans see as part of their world,” the outlet reported. He said he was up for “discussions about what unites us” with the incoming Trump administration.

The Danish government hopes to convince Trump that Greenland can address American security concerns without the area becoming part of the U.S., Axios reported. Egede made clear his advocacy for an independent Greenland, which became a self-governing Danish territory in 1953.

“Greenland is for the Greenlandic people,” Egede said. “We do not want to be Danish and we do not want to be American. We want to be Greenlandic.”

Greenland wants to avoid confrontation with the U.S., which already has a military base in the territory and an agreement with Denmark dating back to 1951, sources told Axios.

During the press conference, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, the outlet reported. She said she requested a meeting with Trump.

If Trump successfully makes a deal with Denmark for Greenland, he would become the first president in 80 years to acquire new territory for the U.S., according to the outlet. This comes after the Republican had proposed taking back the Panama Canal and making Canada the “51st state” of America.

Elizabeth Warren Grifts on LA Fires to Solicit Campaign Donations

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA)  Embattled Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Ma., to appear noble by soliciting donations for victims of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires. But there was a catch. She funneled the contributions through the Democratic Party’s fundraising arm. 

In a now-viral X post, Warren asked her followers to donate to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, entities leading the wildfire rescue efforts. 

“100% of your donation will go directly to these organizations,” Warren claimed, linking to a donation page hosted by ActBlue Charities, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by the Democratic political action committee ActBlue. Even worse, the landing page prominently featured Warren’s senatorial campaign logo.

Warren’s promise that the entire donation would go exclusively to the California-based nonprofits was debunked by a Community Note, which noted that ActBlue pockets a 3.95 percent cut of each contribution, in addition to harvesting the donors’ data. 

Warren’s community-noted post garnered over 1.2 million views and drew widespread criticism from several prominent conservative voices.

“You should be ashamed of yourself” comedian Tim Young replied. 

“How have you not deleted this sht yet?” asked X personality Gunther Eagleman, known for his fiery commentary. “You are fcking shameless,” he wrote in an earlier comment. 

“You are a shamelessly horrible person,” responded Josie Glabach, popularly known as The Redheaded Libertarian. 

Other critics pointed out Warren’s personal wealth, which OpenSecrets estimated at nearly $8 million, making her the 18th richest sitting senator. 

Warren is no stranger to controversy, with this marking the second time Warren has faced criticism in a week. 

Earlier this week, conservatives mocked her criticism of Pete Hegseth’s Jerusalem cross tattoo, which she and Reuters baselessly linked to white nationalism. 

The critics highlighted that the Jerusalem cross is so innocuous and popular that it is inlaid on the chancel floor of the Washington National Cathedral, where the late former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral took place. 

“Elizabeth Warren will be furious when she finds out they put Jimmy Carter on Pete Hegseth’s tattoo,” quipped X user KanekoaTheGreat. 

“Who put Pete Hegseth’s Nazi tattoo on the cover of Jimmy Carter’s funeral program?” joked Republican strategist Arthur Schwartz on X, sharing an image of a funeral handout.

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris’s failed presidential campaign was exposed Saturday for charging some donors’ credit cards two months after she lost the 2024 election. 

The Harris campaign made the charges to donors who unknowingly agreed to recurring contributions through its joint fundraising committee with the Democratic National Committee (DNC), Politico’s Playbook reported Saturday morning.

“It’s silly, out of touch, and needlessly takes advantage of our most loyal supporters,” an anonymous Democrat operative told Politico, sharing screenshots of the unexpected charges. 

The source said they were charged in December and again in January, just days before President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“Thank you for your generous monthly commitment,” the charge allegedly read, warning donors the payments would continue “until you contact us.” 

The questionable charges come amid reports that Harris’s campaign entered the November election with a $20 million debt despite raising a staggering $1 billion. 

Trump mocked Harris’s financial struggles in a post on Truth Social, humorously offering to help cover her debt with his 2024 surplus. 

“I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 Presidential Election, raising a record amount of money, didn’t have lots of $’s left over,” Trump wrote. 

He added, “Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do.” 

Politico reported the donations are now going directly to the DNC since the Harris campaign has disbanded. 

A digital staffer from former Sen. Mitt Romney’s failed 2012 campaign noted their recurring donations ended days after Romney conceded to Barack Obama, the then-incumbent president. 

The Republican operative said the charges are “super shady” and amount to “grifting.” They added, “These people didn’t sign up to be paying bills in January.”

Trump Vindicated: Venezuelan Leaders Confirm Maduro Sending Criminals to the US

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Remember when fact-checkers attacked President-elect Donald Trump’s claims that countries are sending criminals to wreak havoc in the U.S.? New comments from current and former Venezuelan officials confirm that this is exactly what dictator Nicolás Maduro is doing. 

Venezuelan opposition leader María Machado, former Venezuelan military official José Gustavo Arocha and security consultant Alberto Ray warned that Maduro is likely to weaponize local gangsters to destabilize the U.S. if he remains in power following the disputed local election of 2024.

“If Maduro remains in power, he will likely use the Tren de Aragua as a tool for coercion and asymmetric tactics to achieve his objectives,” Arocha said in an interview with Fox News.    

Arocha fled Venezuela over the persecution by the Maduro regime and is now a fellow at the Center for a Secure Free Society in the U.S.  

He added, “Migration, weaponized with elements of the Tren de Aragua, will serve as leverage to seek the easing of economic sanctions and to gain legitimacy from the United States.” 

Tren de Aragua (TdA) is a multi-national gang linked to several high-profile criminal cases in the U.S., including the death of Laken Riley, a beloved nursing student in Georgia, and the hijacking of multiple apartment buildings in Colorado. 

Machado said that the situation in Venezuela has dire implications for U.S. safety. She is currently leading protests against Maduro as he refuses to relinquish power following the disputed 2024 elections. 

Ray, a risk strategist who helps with Machado’s security, echoed Machado’s concerns in an interview with Fox: “What is going to happen if Maduro stays in power is that more illegal and weaponized migration is going to keep going out of Venezuela and that increases the probability of Tren de Aragua and other gangs to migrate and be around the region, including the U.S.”

These comments echo past assertions from Trump about foreign countries releasing criminals into the U.S. The president-elect has pointed to reports that crime in Venezuela dropped as the regime released criminals into the U.S. 

Several fact-checkers, including those at The New York Times and FactCheck.Org, claimed there was no evidence to back these comments. 

“There is no evidence that the Venezuelan government is systemically or selectively releasing prisoners and expelling them from the country,” The Times wrote in July 2024. 

“The experts we spoke to said the claim lacks evidence, and is otherwise dubious,” noted FactCheck.Org.

In a separate piece, FactCheck.Org added, “Experts in and out of Venezuela told us there is no evidence to back up Trump’s claim.” It continued, “Again, Trump has provided no evidence to back up his claim that the Venezuelan government is emptying its prisons and sending inmates to the U.S.”

PolitiFact labeled Trump’s comments “pants on fire” and “false.” 

These revelations come just days after the fact-checking industry was rocked when Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg halted his partnership with them to censor content on his social media platforms. Zuckerberg affirmed fact-checkers often targeted political speech, which turned out to be factual.

Jack Smith Resigns in Disgrace, Marking Collapse of DOJ’s Lawfare

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Special Counsel Jack Smith has resigned from the DOJ, according to newly released legal filings reported by Politico. 

Smith quit Friday, two years after Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed him to go after President-elect Donald Trump—a move that ultimately failed when an overwhelming majority of Americans returned Trump to the White House in 2025. 

The DOJ announced Smith’s resignation in a Saturday filing to U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, begging her not to extend her court order blocking the release of the special counsel’s final report on Trump. 

“The Special Counsel completed his work and submitted his final confidential report on January 7, 2025, and separated from the Department on January 10,” the filing read. 

Smith’s departure followed his withdrawal of two criminal cases against Trump, complying with DOJ policies barring the prosecution of a sitting president. Trump is set to be sworn in as the 47th president on Jan. 20, 2025.

Trump praised Smith’s withdrawal in a statement on Truth Social, writing, “These cases, like all of the other cases I have been forced to go through, are empty and lawless, and should never have been brought.” 

Trump added, “It was a political hijacking, and a low point in the History of our Country that such a thing could have happened, and yet, I persevered, against all odds, and WON. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” 

Saturday’s filing noted that Smith submitted a final report recounting his prosecution against Trump, launched in November 2022. 

For over two years, Smith’s prosecutors reportedly leaked information detrimental to Trump to the legacy media. Smith also attempted to rush the cases, potentially violating Trump’s due process rights and casting a shadow over the 2024 election. 

Despite these efforts, Trump emerged victorious this past November, delivering a major blow to both Garland and Smith. 

Notably, Trump has since called for Smith to be prosecuted for his conduct as special counsel.
