Seattle Finally Starts Throwing Misdemeanor Offenders in Jail after Four Years

(Headline USA) Seattle finally started putting shoplifters, vandals, and other petty criminals in jail after letting suspects accused of lower-level crimes walk free for the past four years.

Law enforcement in Seattle had been prevented from booking low-level criminals into the King County Jail because of pandemic era restrictions that slashed the prison’s capacity.

After the pandemic ended, the county jail cited staffing issues for the ongoing restrictions.

The result, according to Deputy Chief Eric Barden, was that people began to commit crimes knowing they would just be let off.

“We’ve had people tell us, ‘You can’t arrest me for that.’ Well, that was true but now we can. We’re hoping to get a little bit of accountability back,” he told the Seattle Times.

King County Jail finally agreed to drop its restrictions and open up additional beds for misdemeanor offenders in a deal with Seattle officials.

Since then, 70 of the 135 beds the jail designated for misdemeanors have been used on a daily basis.

The city’s public defenders fought against the decision to lock up lower-level offenders again, arguing that doing so would hurt the city’s poor and homeless populations.

“Lifting jail booking restrictions puts people who are presumed innocent in jail for unproven allegations involving nonviolent misdemeanors that may never even be charged,” Matt Sanders, the interim director of King County’s Department of Public Defense, said in a statement. “Studies have repeatedly shown that this undermines rather than improves public safety and increases the likelihood of someone committing an offense in the future.”

City residents, however, had been complaining about Seattle’s lax law enforcement for the past four years.

According to Seattle City Attorney Ann Davison, business owners whose property was vandalized or robbed would call 911, only for an officer to show up, detain the offender, and then explain to the business owner that the offender wouldn’t be arrested.

Now, Seattle law enforcement will be able to do their jobs and protect the city’s residents quickly and efficiently, Barden explained.

“We’re not running around looking to throw people in jail—that’s not our deal either. We’re just trying to provide the most efficient public safety to the citizens of Seattle that we can,” Barden said.

Big Pharma Stocks Crumble After Trump Taps RFK Jr. as HHS Boss

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head the Department of Health and Human Services has sent shockwaves through vaccine company stocks.

BioNTech and Novavax saw their stocks drop by 7.1% and 7.0%, respectively, while Moderna’s fell by 5.6% shortly after Trump’s announcement on Thursday, according to Axios. CNBC noted that Pfizer’s stocks dropped more than 2 percent.

These companies made billions after manufacturing the COVID-19 vaccines, which several governments, including the U.S., forced Americans to take.

Trump’s appointment of RFK Jr. to HHS seems part of the former independent presidential candidate’s efforts to “Make America Healthy Again,” echoing Trump’s signature “Make America Great Again” slogan.

“Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Mirroring Trump’s comments, RFK Jr. posted on X: “Together we will clean up corruption, stop the revolving door between industry and government, and return our health agencies to their rich tradition of gold-standard, evidence-based science.”

RFK Jr. added, “I will provide Americans with transparency and access to all the data so they can make informed choices for themselves and their families.”

Days before the Nov. 5 election, RFK Jr. said he had “asked God for 19 years to put me in a position where I could end the chronic disease epidemic and bring health back to our children, and in August, God sent me Donald Trump.”

RFK Jr.’s nomination received bipartisan support on social media, with Democratic Colorado Gov. Jared Polis calling it exciting.

“He helped us defeat vaccine mandates in Colorado in 2019 and will help make America healthy again by shaking up HHS and FDA,” Polis said.

“I hope he leans into personal choice on vaccines rather than bans (which I think are terrible, just like mandates) but what I’m most optimistic about is taking on big pharma and the corporate ag oligopoly to improve our health,” Polis added.

One Hollywood Celebrity Actually Leaves U.S. Because of Trump

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Hollywood celebrities have become infamous for threatening to leave the United States if Donald Trump is elected and never leaving after that happens. However, this time, at least one of them actually left the country after relentlessly cheering for Democrats during the 2024 election.

Actress Eva Longoria recently told Marie Claire that she and her family fled the “dystopian” America to live in Mexico and Spain.

“I had my whole adult life here,” she said. “But even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then COVID happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to s–t on California — it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”

Even though Democrats caused the problems she described, Longoria still blamed everything on Trump.

“The shocking part is not that he won,” she said about Trump’s victory last week. “It’s that a convicted criminal who spews so much hate could hold the highest office.”

Longoria also said that if Trump “keeps his promises,” the United States would become a “scary place.”

Marie Claire also highlighted that Longoria was one of the many far-left Hollywood celebrities who previously promoted former Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris and her vice presidential pick, Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn.

“It was like, ‘Does my vote really matter? Am I really making a difference?’” she said. “I was so untethered to the core of what I believe because I truly believed in my soul that the best person wins. And then that happened, and I was like, ‘Oh, wait. The best person doesn’t win.’”

She then said that many Americans were not as lucky as he was because they were not able to escape “this dystopian country.”

Conservatives quickly responded to Longoria leaving the country.

“Eva Longoria lives the American dream. She went from working at Wendy’s in high school to becoming a successful actress, producer and director. She’s highly educated and super-rich. This country gave her that. Now, she says America is ‘dystopian.’ Convenient timing,” conservative commentator Amala Ekpunobi wrote.

Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire mocked Longoria’s overly dramatic immigration.

“Oh no. Oh G-d. I never would have supported Trump if I knew it would lead to this. How can we go on without Eva Longoria? What is the point anymore? Don’t leave us, Eva! Nooooo!” he wrote.

Libs of TikTok also criticized Longoria’s reason for leaving the country.

“Actress Eva Longoria, who campaigned for Kamala, has left the US after Trump’s win but accidentally blames Gavin Newsom. She could’ve just moved to Florida instead,” Libs of TikTok wrote.

Fetterman Bluntly Tells 84-Year-Old Pelosi to Call It Quits: ‘She’s Still Hanging On’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., pulled no punches when rebuking former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi after she led what has been described as a “coup d’état” against President Joe Biden during the 2024 general election.

Speaking with Politico on Thursday, Fetterman suggested Pelosi should resign from Congress, seemingly accusing her of dodging accountability for Democrats’ 2024 election loss.

“People like [Nancy] Pelosi, she really tried to — what’s the word I’m looking for? — she embraced this ‘she’s the godmother, she’s the enforcer,’” Fetterman said. “And now she’s blaming Biden. Well, you can’t have it both ways. You got what you wanted, and now you’re still blaming Biden.”

Comparing Biden’s age with Pelosi’s, Fetterman added, “I think it’s really ironic that you have a woman at age 84 and she is still hanging on. Why not give a younger generation an opportunity to occupy that seat?”

Fetterman’s remarks followed reports that Pelosi, with the help of former President Barack Obama, pressured Biden to exit the race after his disastrous debate against now-President-elect Donald Trump.

Biden caved to this pressure on July 21, quitting the race and endorsing his embattled vice president, Kamala Harris, as his successor. Harris went on to clinch the nomination, but the rest is history.

When the candidate swap plot crumbled and Harris failed to overcome Trump’s popularity, Pelosi blamed Biden for not stepping aside earlier. Pelosi even implied that she did not want Harris to be the nominee at all.

“Had the president gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race,” Pelosi claimed in an interview with The New York Times. She said the anticipation was that Democrats were going to hold an open primary.

She continued, “But we don’t know that. That didn’t happen. We live with what happened. And because the president endorsed Kamala Harris immediately, that really made it almost impossible to have a primary at that time. If it had been much earlier, it would have been different.”

Kamala May Run for Calif. Gov.

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) After losing the 2024 election, former Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris may run for governor in her home state of California because there are reportedly still some people who want to see her in a leadership position.

The Los Angeles Times recently reported that Harris may win the gubernatorial race if she runs in 2026 because current Gov. Gavin Newsom has already served two terms.

The Times also cited the latest poll from the University of California, Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, which the newspaper co-sponsored. The poll showed that nearly half of voters would be very or somewhat likely to support Harris in 2026.

It was also noted that approximately 72% of Democrats would likely or somewhat likely to consider voting for Harris.

“Nearly all voters in this state have an opinion of her, and that’s really the big advantage that she brings to an early poll,” Mark DiCamillo, the director of the Berkeley IGS Poll, said. “None of the other candidates are as well known to the voting public.”

DiCamillo also released a statement on Wednesday in which he wrote Harris could become the state’s next leader.

“While Harris was not included among the potential candidates in the poll’s preference measures, when asked separately whether they would consider supporting her as a gubernatorial candidate, one in three voters (33%) say they would be very likely to do so, and another 13% would be somewhat likely,” he wrote.

People on Twitter quickly responded to the recent poll, mocking the idea that Harris has a slight chance of winning California.

“The Berkeley poll? Good l-rd you guys are idiots. No one in California wants Kamala as Governor. NO ONE!” @SCMountainGoat wrote.

Others also pointed out that Harris would never become the state’s governor because he political career is over.

“Kamala “zero delegates” Harris? Governor of California? Her political career is over. But I’d love to see that loser run. Just to watch her be publicly humiliated,” @berningman16 wrote.

Founder of Golden Together, Steve Hilton, also responded to the recent news.

“‘Become’ [the governor]? Like, get appointed to it? She certainly couldn’t get elected to it. The last thing California needs is a failed, rejected machine politician from Washington,” he wrote.

However, it looks like Harris may never win the state election because Californian people recently decided to reject far-left policies by replacing George Soros’s puppet, George Gascon, with a tough-on-crime prosecutor, Nathan Hochman.

Californians in San Francisco also elected the far-left city mayor London Breed’s opponent, Daniel Lurie, the 47-year-old heir to the Levi Strauss fortune and the founder and former CEO of the anti-poverty nonprofit Tipping Point.

PragerU Founder Hospitalized, Receives Massive Support

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) It was recently revealed that PragerU founder Dennis Prager was hospitalized on Tuesday.

“On Tuesday morning, PragerU founder and our dear friend, Dennis Prager, suffered a serious back injury following a fall. He’s resting in a local Los Angeles hospital as doctors assess treatment options. We will keep you informed of his condition. In the meantime, Dennis welcomes the healing power of your prayers,” PragerU wrote on its Twitter account.

Many conservatives responded to the post by praying for Prager and wishing him to recover soon. Among the people who wished Prager well were conservative activists Chaya Raichik behind Libs of TikTok, Robby Starbuck and Peachy Keenan.

Other people who wished Prager well were Christopher Rufo of the Manhattan Institute,  conservative commentator Liz Wheeler, Managing Editor of the Babylon Bee Joel Berry and Bishop Robert Barron.

Co-founder of the Daily Wire Jeremy Boreing, conservative professor Carol M. Swain and conservative author Brigitte Gabriel also prayed for Prager and wished him well.

Prager also made the same announcement in one of his Twitter posts, and in the comments section, people wished him the fastest recovery.

“Prayers up for a beloved colleague,” Andrew Klavan of the Daily Wire wrote.

“Prayers up for Dennis Prager,” conservative commentator Megyn Kelly wrote.

The person behind Prager’s personal Twitter account also posted a video with Mark Davis, a guest host of Prager’s show, praying for Prager’s quick recovery from a back injury.

Klavan’s son, Spenser, also responded to the recent news.

“I shook Dennis’s hand not two weeks ago as we passed each other backstage at the Daily Wire election show. A kinder and more earnest man of thought and faith I have not met. Please pray for his recovery with me,” he wrote.

Founder of Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, also asked his followers to pray for Prager.

“Please join with me and pray for my dear friend and Salem radio colleague, Dennis Prager. He had a bad fall, and doctors are currently assessing the best treatment options. His impact on my life and this country have been enormous, and I’m praying for a full and speedy recovery,” he wrote.

On Thursday, Prager thanked everyone for their prayers and well wishes.

Could Trump Tap Alex Jones to Lead NPR in Ultimate Post-InfoWars Troll?

UPDATE: A judge overseeing Alex Jones’s bankruptcy proceedings determined that The Onion did not submit the highest bid, overturning the results of the recent option and throwing the fate of InfoWars into question once again.

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) With InfoWars shut down, many are questioning what’s next for its founder Alex Jones and what new venture, if any, he could pursue. One suggestion caught some people off guard: name him head of NPR.

Benjamin Braddock, editor at large of the cultural magazine IM—1776, suggested Thursday that President-elect Donald Trump could counter InfoWars’ leftist takeover by appointing “Jones to run NPR.” Braddock said this would be the “funniest thing right now.”

Braddock’s proposal came after Jones posted a video announcing InfoWars’ sudden closure following its purchase by The Onion, a satirical news site. “I’m going to be here until they come and turn the lights off,” Jones said.

In response, one user noted that NPR, a taxpayer-funded news organization, is run by an independent board. This means the president or the executive branch does not oversee NPR’s appointments.

This did not deter Braddock, who jokingly replied, “The Supreme Court has ruled that the President has total immunity to do whatever he wants.”

This wouldn’t be the first time Jones emerged as a rumored federal appointee; earlier this month, he claimed to have “formally” accepted an offer to be Trump’s press secretary.

The NPR board selected Katherine Maher as president and CEO in January 2024, igniting widespread criticism over her leftist bias.

According to NPR’s About page, the board of directors oversees NPR’s 501(c)(3) non-profit status, sets policies and monitors the organization’s finances and performance.

The board includes 23 directors: 12 NPR station managers, nine public directors (alleged prominent members of the public), the NPR Foundation chair and the president and CEO.

NPR was founded in 1970 and, until 1983, received over half of its funding from the federal government’s Corporation for Public Broadcasting, according to Influence Watch.

NPR claims that less than one percent of its annual budget comes from tax dollars. However, a fact-check by The Western Journal found that NPR received 8 percent of its revenue from federal appropriations in 2020.

In addition, NPR got 10 percent from publicly funded colleges and universities, according to the Journal.

Pelosi Fact-Checked by WaPo after Border Security Lie

(Maire Clayton, Headline USA) Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was fact checked by the Washington Post after claiming fewer migrants came into the country under President Joe Biden than under President-elect Donald Trump during his first term in office.

“I don’t think we were clear enough by saying fewer people came in under President Joe Biden than came under Donald Trump,” Pelosi said during an interview.

In a lengthy article, the Post outlined how Trump had fewer illegal immigrants come into the country than Biden.

“It’s a documented fact that at least four times as many migrants entered the United States under Biden than under Trump,” the article stated.

The Post said an aide for Pelosi tried to backtrack and claim she meant to refer to deportation, citing one specific Reuters story.

The article stated for fiscal year 2024 Biden was on track to deport more illegals than any single year under Trump; however, as a collective Trump outnumbered Biden over the course of his four years.

Due to his successful COVID-era policies, including the “Remain in Mexico” policy, fewer illegal immigrants required deporting during Trump’s final year in 2020.

The leftist outlet gave Pelosi the highest rating with four Pinocchios, signifying it was a “whopper”.

Americans clearly had enough of open borders as Trump was victorious in capturing the 2024 election.

He ran a campaign focusing on securing the border and deporting all criminal illegal aliens.

“We’re gonna have to seal up those borders, and we’re gonna have to let people come into our country,” he said. “We want people to come back in.”

The president-elect also said he planned to end birthright citizenship for children of illegals.

Since his win, there was a caravan of roughly 3,000 migrants that were heading to the border to cross before the transition of power.

Once Trump was announced as the winner, roughly half decided to turn around and give up because of Trump’s immigration policies.

Trump spoke about how illegal immigration contributes to crime in the states.

“When people have [been] killed and murdered, when drug lords have destroyed countries, and now they’re going to go back to those countries because they’re not staying here,” Trump said. “There is no price tag.”

DOJ Violated Policies by Sending and Leaking Warning Letter to Elon Musk

(Headline USA) The Justice Department violated its own internal policies by sending a warning letter to tech mogul Elon Musk about his $1 million giveaways in swing states throughout the last few weeks of the election, the Free Beacon reported.

The DOJ’s Public Integrity Section sent the letter to America PAC, Musk’s political organization, after Musk began rewarding randomly selected swing-state voters who signed his petition in support of the First and Second amendments.

However, the letter clearly violated the department’s “longstanding policy against the identification of uncharged parties and the disclosure of prejudicial information,” said Federal Elections Commission Chairman Sean Cooksey.

In his own letter to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, Cooksey pointed out that neither Musk nor America PAC had “been accused of any direct legal violation.”

In fact, there was no indication Musk was even under investigation by the DOJ for his free speech giveaways.

Moreover, the leak of the DOJ’s warning letter to Musk also proved that DOJ officials “failed to comply with department policy on contacts with the media, among other media policies,” Cooksey argued.

The DOJ’s letter to Musk clearly was an intimidation tactic and part of an effort to undermine Musk’s work on behalf of President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign, Cooksey added.

“The fact that President Trump overcame this interference and prevailed in the election does not remove the Department’s responsibility to enforce the law against bad actors after the fact,” Cooksey wrote. “This misuse of government power against President Trump’s campaign—so similar to the Department’s  abuses during Watergate—is the reason why the Office of Professional Responsibility and the Federal Election Commission were created in the first place.”

Trump has promised to reform the DOJ when he returns to office in January, starting with firing DOJ employees and attorneys who try to undermine his attorney general and his agenda.

Biden Implements New Last-Minute Climate Tax

(Headline USA) President Joe Biden is set to implement a new climate tax with just a couple of months left to go in his administration.

The new tax was born out of the Inflation Reduction Act, a sweeping bill that Biden admitted was focused on leftist environmental policy despite its deceptive name.

In that bill was a Waste Emissions Charge provision, which Biden’s Environmental Protection Agency is using to justify a new tax on methane emissions from oil and gas companies.

The fee will start at $900 per metric ton of methane emitted over a specific climate-friendly level.

That fee is set to increase next year to $1,200 per metric ton, and to $1,500 per metric ton in 2026, according to the EPA’s regulation.

“The final Waste Emissions Charge is the latest in a series of actions under President Biden’s methane strategy to improve efficiency in the oil and gas sector, support American jobs, protect clean air, and reinforce U.S. leadership on the global stage,” EPA Administrator Michael Regan said in a press release.

President-elect Donald Trump is likely to spike the methane fee when he takes office in January.

But the new regulation is an indication that Biden’s administration may undertake a regulatory blitz over the next several weeks to bog down the incoming Trump administration’s agenda.

Trump’s chosen EPA administrator, former Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., made it clear this week that he will work to cut back the Biden administration’s burdensome climate agenda.

“I’m looking forward to serving in President Trump’s Cabinet as EPA Administrator,” Zeldin said in a statement. “Together, we will restore American energy dominance, revitalize our auto industry to bring back American jobs, make the United States the global leader of Artificial Intelligence advancement, and slash the red tape holding back American workers from upward economic mobility.”
