Trump, DC Mayor to Demand Lazy Bureaucrats Return to In-Person Work

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President-elect Donald Trump and D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser are joining forces to demand federal workers return to in-person work, rather than continuing remote work, which became common following the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Critics argue that federal workers should return to the office as virtual work was only necessary to lower the spread of the coronavirus.  

Remote work has left several federal buildings in D.C., nearly empty, hurting the local economy while bureaucrats continue to earn salaries from the comfort of their homes. 

The Biden-led Social Security Administration entered into an agreement with its union to allow federal workers to work from home until 2029. 

Bowser met with Trump earlier this week to discuss common ground and potential collaboration for his second term in office. The mayor described the meeting as “great” and “forward-looking.” 

“We shared the view there has to be a centralized telework policy,” Bowser said in a Saturday interview on MSNBC’s The Weekend.  

“I don’t think it is serving well by having buildings that are sitting virtually empty,” she added. “We are going to be able to attract a great workforce [and] have the esprit de corps to help us do big things in our nation. I think we need to reestablish that in-person work culture.” 

Bowser emphasized that D.C. relies on its 37,000 workers to be present in the office. “I don’t think that is too much to ask,” she added. 

Stephen Miller, the incoming White House deputy chief of staff, echoed Bowser’s sentiments in an interview on Fox News’s Hannity on Friday. 

“Donald Trump announced that federal workers are going back to the office because they work for you,” Miller said. “Those federal workers? You pay their salaries. They need to show up at an office. Donald Trump’s going to rip up those agreements that allow those workers to ‘work at home.’” 

Earlier this week, Trump announced that federal workers who refuse to return to in-person work will be “dismissed.” 

His comments were prompted by the Biden-led Social Security Administration and its union entering a deal that allowed several taxpayer-funded workers to continue working from home until 2029.

Biden Torched for Awarding Medals to Trump Foes Hillary Clinton and George Soros

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Outgoing President Joe Biden came under fire on Saturday for awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to several controversial figures, including many opponents of President-elect Donald Trump.

Notable recipients included twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney’s late father George W. Romney, and leftist billionaire George Soros.  

Also recognized was chef José Andrés, who was reportedly pictured with Ryan Wesley Routh, the individual accused of plotting a second assassination attempt on Trump. 

“These nineteen individuals are great leaders who have made America and the world a better place,” the Biden White House stated in a press release.

“They are great leaders because they are good people who have made extraordinary contributions to their country and the world,” the statement added 

Despite these praises, numerous Republican officials, conservative commentators and prominent journalists condemned the awards, citing the recipients’ controversial records. 

For example, Soros has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to elect radical leftist prosecutors, who religiously implement “woke” policies once in office. These so-called Soros prosecutors often refuse to prosecute crimes and undermine law enforcement. 

Many of these prosecutors would ultimately lose their re-elections after citizens grew frustrated with the negative implications of these policies, including rising crime rates.

“Biden is ending his term in disgrace,” House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., wrote on X. He accused Biden of celebrating “shamed politicians like Liz Cheney and Hillary Clinton who lied to the American people and did everything they could to try to take down President Trump.” 

Tech mogul Elon Musk said it was a “travesty that Biden is giving Soros the Medal of Freedom.” 

Best-selling author Miranda Devine expressed her disbelief, stating, “Unbelievable. Well, really, all too believable. No less galling.”

Renowned journalist and author David Marcus also criticized Biden’s recognition of Soros, highlighting the latter’s financial backing of soft-on-crime prosecutors. 

“The number of deaths in our major cities directly caused by Soros’ pro criminal activism and funding in local elections numbers at least in the tens of thousands. Possibly the hundreds of thousands,” Marcus wrote on X. 

This is not the first time Biden has been criticized for honoring controversial figures. Last week, he recognized disgraced former Rep. Liz Cheney and Rep. Bennie Thompson for their roles in leading the anti-Trump Jan. 6th Committee.

Biden Manipulates DOJ Succession, Setting Stage for Another Sally Yates Debacle

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Outgoing President Joe Biden has unexpectedly changed the order of succession for the DOJ, a move some critics claim could be aimed at preempting President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to reshape the federal agency in 2025. 

Biden signed an executive order on Friday to modify the succession plan in case the attorney general, deputy attorney general or associate attorney general has died, resigned or is unable to perform their duties. 

The new order places the U.S. attorneys for the Southern District of New York, the District of Arizona, the Northern District of Illinois, and the District of Hawaii in line to assume leadership of the DOJ if those top positions become vacant. 

On X, some have speculated that this order is a strategy to compel Trump to inherit some of Biden’s holdover officials, reminiscent of the scenario that occurred in 2017 with Sally Yates. 

Yates, who was a deputy attorney general in the Obama administration, became the acting attorney general during the initial days of Trump’s presidency. 

From Jan. 20 to Jan. 30, 2017, Yates defied Trump’s orders, most notably opposing his travel ban intended to prevent terrorist attacks in the U.S., which ultimately led to her firing. 

Notably, before Trump’s inauguration in 2017, then-President Barack Obama modified the order of succession on Jan. 13, 2017, placing the U.S. attorneys for the District of Columbia, Northern District of Illinois and the Central District of California at the top of the line in case of a vacancy. 

Trump reversed this order on Feb. 9, 2017 (after firing Yates), elevating the U.S. attorneys for the Eastern District of Virginia, the Northern District of Illinois, and the Western District of Missouri instead. He subsequently changed the order again two months later. 

Biden’s new order is not final, as Trump can issue his own executive order to reorganize the order of succession. He also has the authority to appoint any federal prosecutor as acting attorney general, bypassing the established succession order. 

After firing Yates in 2017, Trump appointed Dana Boente, then-U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, as acting attorney general until Jeff Sessions was confirmed to that position. 

Biden’s changes come amid reports that he is “Trump-proofing” the White House and the federal government as Trump prepares to take office. Critics have condemned this scheme, stating that it undermines the will of the voters who elected Trump in the 2024 presidential election.

‘That’s Not Jeffries’: Dem Congressman Torched for Posting Photo with the Wrong Lawmaker

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Rep. Jonathan L. Jackson, D-Ill., was called out on Friday for posting a photo of himself shaking hands with the wrong lawmaker.

Jackson’s caption revealed that he thought he posted a photo of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries — but it was actually an image of Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J.

“Democrats stand united behind @RepJeffries,” Jackson wrote on X in his since-deleted post, which was screenshotted exposed by Politico reporter Nicholas Wu, who wrote, “That’s not Jeffries.”

In the photo, Jackson’s back faced the camera as Booker beamed while the two engaged in an amicable greeting.

Political commentator Will Pierce reacted by saying, “Dear @rep_jackson’s comms teams tell me you think all black people are the same without telling me you think all black people are the same lol.”

X user @MsDeplorable2 called Democrats like Jackson “dumber than a bag of rocks,” and many chimed in suggesting Jackson, who is black, was “trying to say all black peoples look alike.”

Jackson appeared to realize his error when he deleted his original post, correcting it with a new post containing an image of himself beside Jeffries. The Democrat representative did not speak to his mistake.

X user @LeftismForU, an account that prides itself on exposing “leftists” and “fake Republicans,” asked Jackson, “Why did you delete the original?”

Others mocked Jackson for his major “oopsie” by pelted the replies with screenshots of the original post.

“Wow you finally got the right person,” X user @inductionftw added. “You’re an embarrassment.”

Another X user, @SFortyseve86835, asked with two laughing emojis, “What happened to your Cory Booker post?”

Jackson’s first attempt at picking a photo of Jeffries just as successful as the minority leader’s bid for House speaker on Friday. Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson won a second term after two GOP holdouts changed their votes in the first round.

The Duchess of Sussex’s “tone-deaf” culinary comeback struck a nerve among trailer viewers who were quick to comment on how “out of touch” Markle’s new series appeared.

Former The View co-host Meghan McCain said she no longer thinks Markle is “cool, stylish and refreshing” because the duchess disrespected the royal family and comes off as inauthentic.

“Now that she wants to be American again instead of British aristocracy what she seems to forget is Americans want real, raw, uncensored,” McCain wrote in part of a lengthy post, adding that “rage, uncertainty and intensity” currently embroils the U.S. as Americans are ailing from the ISIS-inspired terror attack in New Orleans and the Cybertruck bombing in Las Vegas.

Markle, 43, did not even film her eight-episode “at home” series at her own home, the DailyMail reported. Instead, the duchess rented an $8 million mansion just two miles from the Montecito property she lives in with Prince Harry and her two children.

Podcast Zack Peter pointed out that “it’s 2024, not 2014,” and noted that viewers no longer want to watch “perfectly crafted celebrities.”

“An authentic look at Meghan Markle spreading joy as she gardens, cooks, creates flower arrangements and entertains in someone else house, someone else garden, using someone else’s dishes and someone else’s life,” X user @ARamblingRoyal wrote with screenshots from Markle’s new show.

Some social media users, such as @BritishRoyaltea, suggested that Markle stole the recipes featured in her cooking series from members of the royal family.

Others made clear their plans to boycott the duchess’s show, with one calling Markle a “b**chy, rude, arrogant, demeaning bully.”

“I’ve decided, selflessly, not to watch Meghan Markle’s new Netflix show. I think it’s important we all do the same to respect her plea for privacy,” GB News presenter Darren Grimes wrote on X.

GOP Congresswoman Gets Medical Help After Staircase Fall

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-N.C., reportedly received medical attention Friday after she fell down stairs inside the U.S. Capitol following a vote securing House Speaker Mike Johnson’s second term.

Foxx, 81, reportedly slipped as she tried to come back downstairs from talking to her family in the gallery above the House chamber, the congresswoman’s spokesperson told The News&Observer in a text message.

Reporters noticed Foxx holding her nose after the fall, according to the outlet. They also saw blood on her face and leg.

The outlet noted that the stairs Foxx fell on while coming down from the balcony were “worn from decades of use.” The area was reportedly blocked off as medical professionals cleaned up the congresswoman’s blood.

“After being helped to her feet, and looked over by medical personnel, she proceeded on her own to the Attending Physician’s office to get treated for a few individual cuts,” Foxx’s spokesperson, Alex Ives said. “Everything seems to be okay.”

While the House had already voted for the speaker and sworn in its members, the legislative body had not yet voted on House rules before Foxx’s fall, The News&Observer reported.

Foxx reportedly helped negotiate with other Republicans when it appeared as though Johnson would lose the first vote. The Trump-endorsed GOP speaker ultimately prevailed when Reps. Keith Self, R-Texas, and Ralph Norman, R-S.C., changed their votes to push Johnson over the threshold.

Foxx addressed the incident later that day on social media, saying she suffered “just a few small cuts.”

“Thank you to everyone for your prayers – just a few small cuts and I’m doing just fine,” Foxx wrote on X. “I’m a mountain woman, and we’re tougher than a $2 steak.”

Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., responded by calling her 81-year-old colleague “one tough cookie!”

JD Vance Undergoes Surgery in DC Hospital

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Incoming Vice President J.D. Vance underwent a minor surgery in Washington, D.C. on Friday after he attended the Senate’s swearing-in ceremony.

Vance went to George Washington Hospital for a “long-planned” sinus surgery, spokesperson William Martin confirmed to Fox News.

“The Vice President-elect is having a long-planned, minor sinus surgery and will be back at work tomorrow,” Vance’s spokesperson told the outlet.

Before he went under the knife, Vance, who was a Republican senator before being elected vice president, was spotted laughing as outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris swore in members of the 119th Congress.

Harris, who suffered a historic loss to the Trump-Vance ticket, proved she was unfit for the U.S. presidency when she shocked Americans by failing to recite the Pledge of Allegiance to a packed room of senators.

Social media users were quick to point out that until Jan. 20, Harris remains on deck just in case President Joe Biden is rendered unable to make it to the end of his term.

In another viral moment, the young son of Sen. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., was seen apologizing to Harris for her election loss.

“I’m sorry you didn’t win,” the new senator’s son told the defeated Democrat, who promised him she has plenty of “work to do” in the coming years.

As she swore in Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., Harris got snippy about where the Democrat-caucusing progressive stood in proximity to herself.

She lectured Sanders, “Stand right here. Although that is not your nature to just stand where you’re told to stand, but give it a try.”

The vice president’s sour attitude continued as she swore in other Republican senators, including as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who she tensely congratulated before posing for an awkward picture — which she had to retake to include Cruz’s father.

Vance celebrated new GOP senators with a social media post after the ceremony and before his surgery.

“I was proud to stand with @berniemoreno and @DaveMcCormickPA as they were sworn in to the US Senate. Congrats to them and to all of our new senators!” Vance wrote on X.

Trump Hires ANOTHER Fox Personality for Incoming Administration

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) President-elect Donald Trump hired another Fox News personality, network contributor Tammy Bruce, on Friday to join his incoming administration.

Bruce was tapped to serve as the U.S. Department of State spokesperson under Trump’s nominee for secretary of state, Marco Rubio.

“It is my great honor to announce that Tammy Bruce will be joining our incredible Nominee for United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, as Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State,” the president-elect wrote in his announcement on Truth Social.

Trump already announced in November his intent to appoint other Fox News personalities to key Cabinet positions, including former Fox and Friends Weekend co-host Pete Hegseth as his defense secretary and former Fox Business co-host Sean Duffy as his transportation secretary.

Trump also plucked former Fox News commentator Monica Crowley from the popular conservative network. Crowley was nominated to serve as the second Trump administration’s “Ambassador, assistant Secretary of State and Chief of Protocol of the United States of America,” according to an early December announcement on Truth Social.

“Tammy is a highly respected political analyst who understood the power and importance of ‘MAGA’ early on. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science at the University of Southern California and, after being a liberal activist in the 1990s, saw the lies and fraud of the Radical Left, and quickly became one of the strongest Conservative voices on Radio and Television,” Trump wrote of Bruce, who he said was one of the “longest serving news contributors” on Fox News.

The president-elect continued by touting Bruce’s ability to communicate the truth, adding, “As one of the longest serving News Contributors, Tammy has brought TRUTH to the American People for over two decades. I know she will bring that same strength of conviction and fearless spirit to her new position as State Department Spokesperson. Congratulations Tammy!”

Bruce reacted to her nomination by responding to a social media post by WorldStrat President Jim Hanson, who praised her as “a true professional & patriot.”

“Jim, that’s very kind of you thank you!” Bruce wrote on X.

‘Muhammad’ Enters Top 10 Boy Names in NYC for First Time

The Queens Gazette reported that the New York City Health Department announced the most popular names for babies born in the city in 2023.

“Our youngest New Yorkers are what makes our city so special,” Acting Health Commissioner Dr. Michelle Morse said. “We welcome Emma, Liam, Mia, Noah and all the other newborns to New York. With your presence, our city is a more joyful, brighter place for the new year and beyond.”

However, the news source pointed out that even though the most popular names were still Emma and Liam, a new name, Muhammad, appeared on the list, indicating the cultural and demographic shift in the city.

It was also previously reported that Muhammad became the most popular boy name in the United Kingdom.

“Mohammad was also the top boy’s name with its many spellings back in 2021 in four of nine regions,” the Telegraph wrote. “Noah came in second, with Oliver third. Muhammad was the second most popular boys’ name in 2022 and has been in the top 10 since 2016.”

The news source also stated that “there were 4,661 Muhammads born across England and Wales” in 2023, “up from 4,177 in 2022,” adding that “only 4,382 Noahs [who] were born in 2023, down from 4,586 the previous year.”

“We are being replaced,” Turning Point U.K. wrote in response to “Muhammad” becoming the most popular boy name in the U.K.

Christian apologist and debater David Woods, who became famous for opposing Islam, also sarcastically criticized British politicians for allowing the mass migration of Muslims into the U.K.

“Great job, British politicians! ‘Muhammad’ is FINALLY the most popular baby name in England and Wales! With so many babies named after a man who called Jews and Christians ‘the worst of creatures’ (Quran 98:6) and who ordered his followers to violently subjugate Jews and Christians (Quran 9:29), England and Wales have a very bright future!” he wrote.

Other people also claimed that the U.K. “is now an Islamic state,” even though it may not seem like it right now.

“Sure, they are young, but roll forward 20 years, and Islam will shape every aspect of U.K. life. You all voted for it, so don’t complain later when things like state education and all government policy are driven by Islam,” @LeoMars75 wrote in a now-deleted post.

Virgin Islands Delegate’s Mic Cut Amid Whining Over Non-Voting Rule

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) U.S. Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett threw a dramatic tantrum on Friday on the House floor while protesting her and other U.S. territories’ non-voting status while selecting the 119th Congress’s speaker of the House. 

Plaskett’s attempt to make a political and performative point quickly fell flat as her microphone was cut off for failing to follow House rules.  

After the first speaker roll call, Plaskett demanded to know why non-voting delegates like herself were not called to vote. The move appeared to be part of a plan to gain viral attention. 

“Northern Mariana, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the District of Columbia were not called, representing collectively 4 million Americans … collectively the largest per capita of veterans in this country,” Plaskett began.  

“I ask why they were not called from the parliamentarian, please,” she added. 

The House clerk provided a straightforward response, swiftly shutting down Plaskett’s lecture. 

“Delegates-elect and the resident commissioner-elect are not qualified to vote. Representatives-elect are the only individuals qualified to vote in the election of a speaker,” the House clerk answered.  

“As provided in Section 36 of the House Rules and Manual, the speaker is elected by a majority of the members-elect voting by surname,” he added. 

In response, Plaskett launched into what appeared to be a memorized rant. 

“This body and this nation has a territories’ and a colony’s problem,” she added. “What was supposed to be temporary has now effectively become permanent. We must do something about this problem…” 

Plaskett’s tirade was abruptly cut short when the clerk proceeded to mute her microphone: “House will be in order.” 

The U.S. Virgin Islands is one of the six U.S. territories that are partially represented by delegates instead of lawmakers. They can introduce legislation and be part of committees but lack authority to vote on the House floor. 

American Samoa, the District of Columbia, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and Puerto Rico are the other territories. They are respectively represented by Aumua Amata Radewagen, Eleanor Holmes Norton, James Moylan, Kimberlyn King-Hinds and Pablo Jose Hernandez Rivera.
