DOJ Could Still Charge 200 More J6ers before Trump Takes Office in 2 Weeks

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Though Donald Trump is expected to issue pardons to numerous Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Hill protestors, Politico reported Monday that the Justice Department could charge some 200 more of them before President Donald Trump is inaugurated on Jan. 20.

“Federal prosecutors are weighing charging as many as 200 more people for their involvement in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol — including 60 suspected of assaulting or impeding police officers,” Politico reported, citing a Monday announcement from the DOJ.

According to Politico, some 1,583 people have faced federal charges stemming from Jan. 6—up more than 100 cases from the 1,457 arrests as of June.

“Though about 1,100 defendants have been convicted and reached sentencing — including 700 who have completed jail sentences or received no incarceration at all — another 300 charged cases have not yet reached trial or a guilty plea, including about 180 facing felony charges,” Politico added.

DOJ stats show that the federal government’s furious pace of arrests continued throughout this year. The DOJ charged 725 from January 2021 to January 2022; more than 200 in 2022; about 225 last year; and another 419 through nearly the first half of 2024.

Meanwhile, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Matthew Graves, who spearheaded the prosecution of hundreds of peaceful Jan. 6 protestors over the last three-plus years, is resigning effective Jan. 16.

According to the “Sedition Hunters,” about 3,900 people committed crimes at the Capitol on Jan. 6. That includes people who breached the Capitol and those who engaged in violence on the grounds, but not the people who were on the Capitol grounds—itself a crime—but otherwise didn’t violate any laws.

“About 626 people have been charged with assaulting law enforcement and media, or entering a restricted area with a dangerous or deadly weapon,” Raw Story reported in April.

“Based on those numbers, the arrest rate for violent offenders would need to pick up the pace from about 16 per month to 26 per month in order to meet the deadline before the statute of limitations runs out on Jan. 6, 2026.”

In Baffling Statement, Schiff Claims Patel Unfit for FBI after Biden-Era Terrorist Attack

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., offered a head-scratching argument on Sunday for why the Senate should reject President-elect Donald Trump’s nomination of Kash Patel as the next FBI director. 

Speaking with NBC News’s Kristen Welker on Meet the Press, Schiff claimed the New Orleans terrorist attack, which left 14 people dead, underscored the need for what he described as an experienced candidate for the FBI. 

Schiff’s logic made little sense as the Wednesday attack happened under President Joe Biden and FBI Director Chris Wray’s leadership. 

“Kash Patel should not be confirmed,” Schiff claimed. “I think the terrorist attack in New Orleans—and my heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones in that attack—just underscores the importance of having someone directing the FBI that has experience, that has judgment, that has character, that will prioritize defending the country against the violence we saw in New Orleans or the violence we saw on January 6th.” 

Schiff—who for years weaponized the House Intelligence Committee to undermine the Trump administration—accused Patel of prioritizing “political vendettas” and believing “deep state conspiracy theories.” Schiff was also the leading voice behind the false Trump-Russian collusion hoax. 

“Kash Patel is an easy one. He should not be confirmed,” Schiff continued. “The others? Look, Marco Rubio, I think is well qualified and several of the other nominees, again, we should follow the regular process that the majority leader has laid out, but that one should be an easy one.” 

Schiff’s comments conveniently omitted Wray’s current leadership that failed to prevent the New Orleans terrorist attack. Shamsud-Din Jabbar allegedly drove his vehicle into a New Year’s celebration crowd in New Orleans’s French Quarter, leaving 14 dead and dozens critically injured. 

Wray has been FBI director since 2017 and is planning to step down before Trump’s inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025. 

Schiff mourned Wray’s departure in a post on X, claiming he was “grateful” for Wray’s service to the FBI and the country. 

“All the more disappointed it was necessitated by an incoming president’s desire to prioritize an unqualified conspiracy theorist over an experienced professional,” Schiff added.

Ex-Trump NSA Warns of ISIS ‘Déjà Vu’ Under Biden

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Former National Security Advisor Robert C. O’Brien painted a grim picture of the current security situation in the U.S. under President Joe Biden’s watch, warning that ISIS is “on the rise.” 

O’Brien made these remarks during a Saturday interview with Fox News’s One Nation host Brian Kilmeade, where they discussed the ISIS-tied terrorist attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Eve that left 14 people dead. 

Kilmeade asked O’Brien whether Biden’s lack of attention to the dangers of terrorist attacks contributed to the current state of insecurity in the U.S. 

“Do you think that played into what we witnessed in New Orleans and where we are worried about now with the FBI director saying he sees nothing but flashing red lights domestically in our country?” he asked.  

O’Brien, who served as Trump’s NSA from 2019 to 2021, responded that those assessments were “100%” accurate. 

“When President Trump took office the first time, keep in mind, we were about to have a war in North Korea, but ISIS was running wild all over the Middle East,” O’Brien said. “They controlled a Caliphate to the size of the United Kingdom that spread across Iraq and Syria.” 

O’Brien recounted how Trump successfully targeted and eliminated ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. 

“The first thing President Trump said is, ‘We will take care of the caliphate,’” O’Brien continued. “And we took ISIS down and now it’s like déjà vu all over again, where we are taking office again and ISIS is on the rise. We had a major terror attack in America.” 

O’Brien also questioned how many ISIS sympathizers had entered the U.S. through the southern border under the Biden-Harris administration. 

“How many of these terrorists came over the border, Brian? How many getaways include ISIS and Hezbollah and al-Qaeda’s members that are swimming in this big American stream?” O’Brien asked. 

Despite the grim situation, O’Brien said he looked forward to incoming FBI Director Kash Patel, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and National Security Advisor Tulsi Gabbard taking over in 2025 to identify and deport terrorists from the country.

Schumer Forced to Watch Himself Praise Biden’s Cognitive Health

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., was forced to watch himself claiming President Joe Biden was mentally sharp and ready to serve another term. This statement did not age well after Biden’s horrific performance in the first 2024 presidential debate. 

Fast forward to 2025, and Schumer now refuses to say whether he truly believed Biden was fit for re-election, as seen in a softball interview on NBC News’s Meet the Press with host Kristen Welker. 

“You were, obviously, in close contact with President Biden well before the public tuned into that debate that ultimately led to him stepping down,” Welker began, according to the Media Research Center. “I want to play you a little bit of something you said last year. Take a look.” 

Welker then aired a clip of Schumer insisting Biden’s mental acuity was “great” and “fine.” In the video, Schumer declared, “It’s as good as it’s been over the years … All this right-wing propaganda that his mental acuity has declined is wrong.” 

After the video concluded, Welker pressed Schumer over his role in promoting what Republicans long knew was a false narrative to shield Biden, the oldest president in U.S. history, from scrutiny. 

“What do you say to Americans that feel as though you and other top Democrats misled them about President Biden’s mental acuity?” Welker asked. 

Schumer denied misleading anyone, falsely claiming Biden stepped down “on his own because he thought it was better not only for the Democratic Party, [but] for America.” 

Welker pressed further: “Do you feel, as we have this conversation today, that President Biden could serve another four years had he stayed in the race and potentially won?” 

Schumer again refused to directly answer questions, dodging, “Well, I’m not going to speculate. As I said, I think his record is a stellar one and he’ll go down in history as a really outstanding president.” 

Schumer, along with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former President Barack Obama, was among the top Democrats who pressured Biden to drop out after his disastrous first debate with Trump. 

Biden initially refused to cave in to the pressure but eventually gave in after Democrats launched a public campaign demanding he step aside. Their concerns were that keeping Biden in the race would have made it easier for Trump to win the election.

Despite nominating Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump went on to cruise to victory, reclaiming the White House and expanding the Republican base across all ethnic and demographic groups.

“Everyone is posting about Alex Jones’ meltdown over claims he sold out to Elon Musk, and I’m just over here trying to figure out when he became manorexic,” wrote author and journalist Liz Crokin. 

MAGA personalities “Hodgetwins” responded to Jones’s drastic weight loss, urging him to share his secret: “Alex Jones 2.0 out here looking like a spartan warrior. We need some of what you on bruh.” 

 

Popular X user Flat Out Truth—who boasts of nearly half a million followers—asked whether Jones had “been replaced by a guy wearing a mask?” 

Jones replied to this question by sharing photos from his younger years when he used to lift weights. 

The podcast host affirmed his body transformation was the product of exercise and diet. 

“More unintentional comedy please! All I did was start working out hard and taking my supplements again,” he wrote. “Do you really think a person in a rubber mask could fake my voice and mind? No one can.” 

Personal trainer Shawn B. Johnson, who worked with Jones, posted a video showing the host’s progress. Johnson explained that Jones had lost 45 pounds “on this new experimental drug called Shawnzempic!!” 

On Dec. 8, Jones shared a video via Johnson’s profile, confirming he had lost 50 pounds.

Bannon Urges Trump to Rescind Soros’s Medal: ‘Rip It Off His Frickin’ Neck!’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Podcast host and former White House counselor Steve Bannon called on President-elect Donald Trump to rescind the Presidential Medal of Freedom awarded by President Joe Biden to radical leftist billionaire George Soros. 

Speaking on the Saturday episode of his WarRoom podcast, Bannon urged Trump to sign an executive order to strip Soros of the honor once he is sworn in as president on Jan. 20, 2025.  

Bannon urged the incoming president to “send a team to track down Soros and take the medal back.” He said it was a “disgrace” that Biden would honor Soros, whom Bannon described as a “demonic individual” who has tried to “destroy” America. 

His comments came after Biden awarded the Medal of Freedom to 19 individuals, including Soros, the man behind the funding of radical leftist prosecutors overseeing spikes in crime and lawlessness. 

Other honorees included twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, George W. Romney—the father of Sen. Mitt Romney—and Spanish-American chef José Andrés, who was allegedly photographed with Ryan Routh, Trump’s second would-be assassin. 

Bannon’s fiery comments came before the Saturday ceremony, where Soros’s son, Alex Soros, accepted the award on his father’s behalf. 

“The demon himself is going to be in the White House,” the former White House counselor continued. “The first thing President Trump should do now, given what Biden’s doing today with Soros and Clinton, we should have an exorcism.”  

He continued, “I think you have to have a Catholic priest and, I don’t know, bring a Protestant minister, bring whoever you want, bring a Shaman in, I don’t know. Let’s have an exorcism. You’ve got to drive the demons out.” 

Bannon proposed that the medal should be repurposed and sent to the 13 U.S. servicemen who died in a terrorist attack in Kabul in 2021. 

“Maybe [the medal] may be cut up in pieces and sent it to the families of the 13 that died at the Abbey Gate, the brave heroes, the young men and women from places like Laredo, Texas,” Bannon continued. “Do that! Rip it off his frickin neck! You want to play smash-mouth, let’s play smash-mouth. If you want to get cute, Biden, we can get cute.”

Ted Cruz Fires Back at Honduran President’s Threat to Expel U.S. Troops Under Trump

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, shared a witty response to Honduran President Xiomara Castro’s threat to shut down U.S. military bases if President-elect Donald Trump follows through on his pledge to deport illegal aliens back to Honduras. 

Cruz said Friday that if Castro decides to expel U.S. troops from Honduras, Trump should immediately cut taxpayer-funded aid, which amounts to several hundred million dollars. 

“In 2023 the Biden admin sent $193 million in foreign aid to Honduras. In 2024, Biden sent at least $120 million,” Cruz wrote on X. “What I hear Honduras’s president saying is they don’t want any more American aid.” 

He added, “Great! Glad to oblige….” 

Cruz’s comments were in response to Castro’s opposition to Trump’s plans to enact the largest “deportation operation” in U.S. history. 

In a Spanish-language video statement, Castro indicated that if Honduran illegal aliens were sent back, she would consider abruptly closing the military bases, falsely claiming they have been maintained in her country for free for decades. 

“We would have to consider a change in our foreign policy and cooperation with the U.S., particularly in the military field, in which, without paying a single dime for decades, maintains military bases in our territory,” Castro claimed, conveniently ignoring the millions of dollars in U.S. aid given to her country.  

“In this case, they would lose all reasons to exist in Honduras,” she added. 

Castro, a leftist politician who came to power in 2022, is married to former President Manuel Zelaya, who served from 2006 until he was ousted in a coup d’état in 2009 over accusations of constitutional violations. 

According to Honduran Foreign Minister Enrique Reina, Castro has the authority to remove a long-standing agreement with the U.S. that allowed for the construction of the Soto Cano Air Base, the U.S.’s largest military installation in Central America, according to The New York Times. 

Castro’s threats shocked critics, given that her poverty-stricken country relies heavily on the U.S. as its biggest trading partner. 

Moreover, U.S. taxpayers, through the Department of State and the United States Agency for International Development, have provided Honduras with an astounding $785.05 million in aid between Fiscal Years 2020 and 2023.

The Biden-Harris administration has also mobilized over $5.2 billion in private sector commitments to the region as part of Vice President Kamala Harris’s infamous plan to address the “root causes” of mass migration. The Department of State claims that Honduras has already received over $545 million of those commitments. 

Trump, who will be sworn in on Jan. 20, 2025, would likely halt aid to countries that fail to cooperate with his immigration policies, as he did in 2019. 

“I’ve ended payments to Guatemala, to Honduras and to El Salvador. No money goes there anymore,” Trump said in March 2019. 

Aid was resumed in October 2019, after the Central American countries increased efforts to prevent their citizens from seeking to enter the U.S. illegally.

Matt Gaetz Hits Back at Headlines w/ Help from Beauty Guru Ex-Congressman

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Former Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., hit back at unflattering headlines Friday on his new One America News Network (OANN) show with help from ousted ex-congressman George Santos.

Gaetz’s OANN debut spawned a slew of media headlines highlighting social media posts commenting on his “new” facial appearance. To combat allegations of cosmetic surgery (or that he stole his looks from Dr. Seuss’s Whoville), the OANN anchor enlisted makeup advice from his flamboyant former colleague.

“What’s going on with my makeup? Help me! Give me advice!” Gaetz begged during the second episode of his primetime show, The Matt Gaetz Show.

Santos, who the New York Post reported was a former drag queen, quickly offered advice to Gaetz. He started off by saying, “Let me tell you something, highlighter is not for you.”

“Stop highlighting the center of your face. It makes your eyes look very small, and it gives you the glow — not the glow you think it gives you,” Santos continued.

Gaetz first attempted defend his use of highlighter, telling Santos he suffers from deep-set eyes. However, his former House colleague would not bend to excuses and stood by his suggestion.

Santos advised Gaetz to gaze upon his own visage for inspiration, telling his buddy, “Look at the flawlessness in my skin. No highlighter needed!”

“You’re a Florida man. I’m in Florida right now. When you’re tan and you’re a Florida man, you don’t need that level of highlighter,” Santos said, bestowing his final nugget of “honest advice” on his friend.

Santos told Gaetz to use a certain type of foundation, going as far as name-dropping his recommended brand and product.

“Here’s what you need to do, Matt. You need to go buy yourself Double Wear foundation from Estee Lauder,” he said.

Santos’s special segment came after social media users suggested Thursday that Gaetz’s makeup artist was trying to sabotage the widely disliked ex-representative.

“Holy makeup and Botox, Batman!” Democrat media strategist Vince Monroy jeered on leftist social networking website BlueSky.

The Young Turks host John Iadarola chimed in by saying, “However much you might despite Matt Gaetz, his makeup person has you beat.”

Leftist Cartoonist Quits Newspaper Over ‘Killed’ Trump, Bezos Sketch

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) A Washington Post cartoonist announced Friday that she quit the leftist newspaper after an editor “killed” a cartoon critical of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and President-elect Donald Trump.

The outlet’s former editorial cartoonist, Ann Telnaes, explained her resignation on Substack and shared an image of the spiked cartoon showing Bezos, the owner of the Washington Post, kowtowing to Trump.

“I have had editorial feedback and productive conversations — and some differences — about cartoons I have submitted for publication, but in all that time I’ve never had a cartoon killed because of who or what I chose to aim my pen at. Until now,” Telnaes wrote in her article titled “Why I’m Quitting the Washington Post.”

Telnaes, who worked for the company since 2008, shared a rough draft of her cartoon, which showed Bezos and other billionaires holding bags of money toward a fat, towering Trump. Disney’s mascot, Mickey Mouse, was also depicted bowing down subserviently before the Republican president-elect.

The leftist political artist explained, “The cartoon that was killed criticizes the billionaire tech and media chief executives who have been doing their best to curry favor with incoming President-elect Trump.”

Telnaes’s cartoon came after Bezos directed the Washington Post not to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election. Following Trump’s historic victory, the Amazon founder said he was “very optimistic” about the Republican’s incoming regulatory agenda — a major shift from his opposition during Trump’s first term.

In line with other big tech leaders, Bezos recently announced he will donate $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund. He also met the president-elect at Mar-a-Lago in December.

Telnaes continued by accusing the Washington Post of censoring her political speech, saying, “To be clear, there have been instances where sketches have been rejected or revisions requested, but never because of the point of view inherent in the cartoon’s commentary. That’s a game changer…and dangerous for a free press.”

“As an editorial cartoonist, my job is to hold powerful people and institutions accountable. For the first time, my editor prevented me from doing that critical job. So I have decided to leave the Post,” she added.

Washington Post Editorial Page editor David Shipley admitted he was the person who decided not to run Telnaes’s cartoon, but denied it was because of political reasons, according to the New York Post. Instead, the editor said he wanted to avoid “repetition” of a story the outlet had already touched on.

“Not every editorial judgment is a reflection of a malign force. My decision was guided by the fact that we had just published a column on the same topic as the cartoon and had already scheduled another column — this one a satire — for publication. The only bias was against repetition,” Shipley said.

‘There’s No Protection’: Louisiana Lt. Gov. Blasts City Officials for Failure Before Terrorist Attack

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Republican Louisiana Lieutenant Gov. Billy Nungesser slammed New Orleans city officials on Saturday for security lapses many individuals believe could have prevented Wednesday’s ISIS-linked massacre.

Speaking on Fox & Friends Saturday with host Guy Benson, Nungesser revealed it was the state government, not the city, that deployed additional troopers in preparation for New Year’s Eve. A man went on to drive his vehicle into a celebration on Wednesday, killing at least 14 people and injuring dozens more.

“Since I’ve been elected lieutenant governor, we’ve been fighting with the administration to make the French Quarter safer,” he told Benson. “Not until [Gov.] Jeff Landry put a state police troop in the French Quarter, we saw great progress to save the French Quarter before this incident.”

Reports confirm that the New Orleans Police Department had removed barricades from the French Quarter to prepare for upgrades ahead of February’s Super Bowl. This left Christmas and New Year’s tourists in danger.

Nungesser called this security breach “unacceptable.” However, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s office dismissed the criticism, releasing a statement earlier this week.

“The City of New Orleans will not be distracted by outside commentary and welcomes everyone to join the positive efforts of the unified command partners,” the New Orleans Mayor’s Office said.

Nungesser, who has been in office since 2016, fired back and accused the city government of longstanding failures.

“I’ve been working with her administration for eight years to put a plan together to manage the Quarter,” he said. “She couldn’t even give a garbage contract to get the Quarter cleaned up before the Super Bowl and the City Council had to give an emergency contract because she gave it to someone that wasn’t in that business.”

The lieutenant governor also warned that other areas of the city remain dangerously vulnerable to attacks.

“For two years we’ve been trying to get the posts around Jackson Square replaced,” he added. “There’s no protection to Jackson Square. I put a video out yesterday, you can drive through that mall around Jackson Square by the St. Louis Cathedral without even stopping and a car can run right through there. It’s absurd her lack of leadership while she travels the world and leaves this city unprotected. Everyone should be outraged.”
