Megyn Kelly Reveals Her Special Role in Trump’s Inauguration

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly revealed she will have a special role in President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration festivities on Friday’s episode of her podcast.

Trump invited Kelly to speak at his victory rally Sunday at the Capital One Arena, the conservative commentator told her audience. She said it was an “honor” and asked her listeners what they would like to hear her talk about.

“On Sunday, I’ll be joining President-elect Trump, Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, Elon Musk and more speaking at the president’s final rally,” Kelly said. “It’s his pre-inauguration rally. He loves the rallies. He doesn’t have to have a rally, he won! But he loves interacting with his voters and his fans and the American people.”

The radio host will make a special episode of The Megyn Kelly Show following her attendance at Trump’s inauguration, which will air on Monday at 6 p.m. EST on SiriusXM’s Triumph station before its release on her YouTube channel and podcast platforms.

“I want to bring you guys all a special announcement. As you may know, we’re going to be doing our show from Washington, D.C. on Monday, and that’s because I am going to be going to the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump as the 47th president of the United States,” she said.

Kelly added that she was bringing her whole family to the inauguration and that she “can’t wait” to attend.

Kelly celebrated the invitation to appear at Trump’s rally as “an opportunity to take the message to some people who don’t always hear us talk” because major news outlets, including her former employers at Fox News and NBC News, would “have to” air speeches from the event.

Trump announced on Friday that his swearing-in ceremony would be moved indoors at the Capitol Rotunda due to forecasts of frigid weather.

“There is an arctic blast sweeping the country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way.”

Kelly rejoiced at Trump’s winter weather adjustment, saying she is “such a wuss in the cold” due to the Raynaud’s syndrome in her fingertips.

Kelly’s guest, DailyMail columnist Maureen Callahan, said Trump’s decision set the tone for his “common sense” second administration.

“People just want common sense to rule the day,” Callahan said, and Kelly added, “That’s a good point.”

“Being outside for six hours in 10-degree weather, people with their young children, you know, you’re just asking for negative things to happen. Bad things to happen,” Kelly said.

FBI Gets Rid of DEI Right Before Trump’s Inauguration

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) FBI recently closed its Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) just days before President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

“In recent weeks, the FBI took steps to close the Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI), effective by December 2024,” the agency told Fox News.

Soon after that, the agency “temporarily reassigned” its Assistant Special Agent in Charge of New Orleans, Alethea Duncan, after she contradicted the city’s mayor by saying the terror attack that happened recently was not terrorism.

After the FBI announced that it had closed its DEI office, Trump ordered the agency to hold on to records from the now-defunct office, adding that it had closed its DEI office due to prevalent corruption.

“We demand that the FBI preserve and retain all records, documents, and information on the now closing DEI Office—Never should have been opened and, if it was, should have closed long ago. Why is it that they’re closing one day before the Inauguration of a new Administration? The reason is CORRUPTION!” he wrote.

Former FBI special agent and Fox News contributor Nicole Parker also criticized the FBI and the agency’s Director, Christopher Wray, for pushing the DEI propaganda down everybody’s throats instead of protecting Americans.

“DEI is a dangerous distraction,” she said. “I have no issue in celebrating whatever you would like regarding your heritage or gender or religion. But that should be done on your own time and not with the U.S. taxpayers’ dollars while on official Bureau time.”

Parker said the agency “needs to focus on hiring the best and brightest based solely on meritocracy” because “Americans deserve the best.”

“I have never been on an operation or heard of a civilian calling into the FBI and requesting an individual of a certain race or gender provide them with assistance in solving their problem or stopping a crime they’ve fallen victim to. Americans simply want to be safe,” she said. “The FBI should be focused on being one in fighting crime, not various groups and divisions that divide.”

Pa. High Court to Take Up Dispute over Mail-In Ballots’ Return Envelope Dates

(Headline USA) The Pennsylvania Supreme Court said Friday it will again consider whether voters should have to write the accurate date on return envelopes used to send their completed mail-in ballots to be counted.

The requirement in state law has generated more than a half-dozen court cases in the past four years, including several that reached the state Supreme Court.

The justices said they will decide whether the dating rule for absentee and mail ballot return envelopes violates a state constitutional provision that elections must be free and equal.

“The constitutional challenge in this appeal is based on the fact, established through years of litigation, that the dating requirements advance no ‘weighty interest’ and serve no purpose in the election process,” wrote Justice Christine Donohue, one of five Democrats on the seven-justice court.

Donohue, joined by one other Democrat, argued the court’s decision to take the case should have gone further and addressed “enforcement of the dating requirements before embarking on an analysis of its constitutionality.”

The case involves 69 mail-in ballots from two state House special elections that a Philadelphia judge had said should be counted even though they lacked a handwritten date on the return envelope.

The statewide Commonwealth Court upheld that decision 3-2 in late October. But the Supreme Court almost immediately put a hold on it and said it would not apply to the Nov. 5 presidential election.

Mail-in ballots in Pennsylvania have been the subject of repeated litigation since absentee and mail-in ballots were allowed for all registered voters by the Legislature in 2019.

Lower courts have repeatedly deemed it unconstitutional or illegal to throw out ballots lacking an accurate handwritten date on the envelope. But higher courts—including the state Supreme Court—have blocked those decisions from taking effect.

As part of their order Friday, the justices said they would consider whether declaring the exterior envelope date mandate unconstitutional would invalidate the entire 2019 law.

Trump Says U.S., China Will Solve Fentanyl, TikTok, Trade Problems

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) President-elect Donald Trump said on Friday that he had a “very good” call with Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping. They discussed many issues between the countries, such as fentanyl pouring from China to the United States, the future of TikTok and Trump’s potential tariffs.

In his post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that he and Jinping addressed “balancing trade, fentanyl, TikTok and many other subjects.”

“I just spoke to Chairman Xi Jinping of China. The call was a very good one for both China and the U.S.A. It is my expectation that we will solve many problems together … starting immediately. We discussed balancing Trade, Fentanyl, TikTok and many other subjects. President Xi and I will do everything possible to make the World more peaceful and safe!” he wrote.

Headline USA reported that Trump even invited Jinping to his inauguration, as confirmed by Trump’s incoming press secretary, Karoline Leavitt.

“This is an example of President Trump creating an open dialogue with leaders of countries that are not just our allies, but our adversaries and our competitors too,” she said. “We saw this in his first term. He got a lot of criticism for it, but it led to peace around this world. He is willing to talk to anyone and he will always put America’s interest first.”

During his appearance at the New York Stock Exchange, Trump also said he’s been “thinking about inviting certain people to the inauguration” without referring to Jinping.

“And some people said, ‘Wow, that’s a little risky, isn’t it?'” Trump said. “And I said, ‘Maybe it is. We’ll see. We’ll see what happens.’ But we like to take little chances.”

However, the Washington Post reported that Jinping won’t attend the inauguration, sending the country’s vice president, Han Zheng, instead.

“We stand ready to work with the new U.S. government to enhance dialogue and communication … and find the right way for the two countries to get along with each other,” the Chinese ministry said.

Wu Xinbo, an international relations scholar at Fudan University in Shanghai, also told the newspaper that China wants to “pay back the respect that Donald Trump showed President Xi Jinping with his invitation,” adding that Japan and India — two key security partners of the United States — were only sending their foreign ministers

“We hope that Vice President Han will … kick off a good start in engagement with the Trump administration,” Xinbo said.

BlackRock Settles Lawsuit w/ Tennessee over ESG Practices

(Kim Jarrett, The Center Square) BlackRock, Inc. has settled a dispute with Tennessee over its ESG practices, which the state said misled consumers.

Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti filed a consumer protection lawsuit against the investment firm in December 2023.

The state accused BlackRock of failing to tell investors how much environmental, social, and governance considerations had been incorporated into its investment strategies. The alleged misrepresentation “deprived consumers of the ability to make an informed choice,” Skrmetti said.

BlackRock agreed to increase its disclosure of proxy voting practices and to a third-party audit to show it is complying with the state’s terms.

The state is dismissing the lawsuit.

“This resolution assures that the money Tennesseans invest with BlackRock is managed consistent with the funds’ disclosures,” Skrmetti said.

“While investors are always free to buy cause-oriented products instead of focusing on maximum return, this settlement ensures that only investors who make a knowing choice will see their assets directed toward these non-financial goals,” he added.

BlackRock, one of the nation’s asset management firms, oversees trillions of dollars in funds and has uses that leverage to force companies to comply with its agenda. The company’s executives also have maintained ties with the Obama and Biden administrations, and have been tapped to oversee the land acquisition and rebuilding of postwar Ukraine.

The company announced earlier this week it was leaving the Net-Zero Banking Alliance. Financial institutions participating in the United Nations-backed alliance agreed to “align their lending, investment and capital markets activities with net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or earlier,” according to its website.

Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan also left the alliance.

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Social media users took a blowtorch to the Obamas on Friday after former President Barack Obama posted a birthday tribute for his wife, Michelle.

Amid rumors of their divorce, Obama posted a photo of himself sitting on the opposite side of a long table from the former first lady, their hands outstretched and reaching for each other at great distance.

To commemorate Michelle Obama’s 61st birthday, the former president wrote on X, “Happy birthday to the love of my life, @MichelleObama. You fill every room with warmth, wisdom, humor, and grace – and you look good doing it. I’m so lucky to be able to take on life’s adventures with you. Love you!”

Two colorful flower bouquets were placed on the table among the Obamas’s empty plates, photo of the couple showed. The wall of behind them appeared to display dozens of alcoholic beverage bottles.

Trump supporter @Brick_Suit noticed the Obamas’s spotless plates and asked, “No food on the plates? Still looking for a chef?”

Some X users mentioned how Michelle did not attend former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral with Barack, who attended without her.

The former first lady further stirred up speculation when it was revealed that her husband would go to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration as she opted to ditch the event.

Another X user made a joke about the mysterious paddle boarding death of the Obamas’s personal chef in 2023, questioning if Obama’s post was “a little media outreach to quiet down suspicion” about that incident and a potential divorce.

Popular conservative meme account @MostlyPeaceful zoomed in on Michelle Obama’s face and said her husband “did her dirty.”

Others suggested the influential Democrat’s spouse was a man in disguise.

“When will Barack Obama finally be honest about his relationship with Michelle? It’s 2025. You can love whoever you legally want to love,” X influencer Paul A. Szypula wrote. “Come on Barack, open up, be honest. What are you afraid of?”

Amid the “Big Mike” allegations were comparisons to The Office’s Michael Scott wearing a durag.

One X user pointed out that the Obamas sat at “such an odd place” for a dinner table, and another commenter said, “It’s all fake, just like they are!”

“How much more ‘OUT OF TOUCH’ could you be? Sitting at a very large, elegant table, surrounded by expensive wine, when people in America are suffering. You are just sick,” one Trump supporter added.

CNN Loses $5M Defamation Lawsuit against Navy Vet Who Rescued Afghan Refugees

(Headline USA) A Florida jury on Friday found that CNN defamed a U.S. Navy veteran in a 2021 story about people paid to rescue endangered Afghans following the Taliban takeover of that country.

The rare ruling against a media outlet in a defamation case reflected the egregious circumstances of the case. Libel laws are generally protective of news organizations, and plaintiffs must meet a high standard to prove defamation.

Generally, the burden falls on the accuser not only to prove the falsity of the statement, but also to show willful negligence—or in the case of public figures, malicious intent. They must also demonstrate that the statements caused material damages.

The jury in Panama City, Florida, deliberated for more than eight hours starting Thursday before ruling in favor of Zachary Young, who blamed CNN for destroying his business by showing his face onscreen in a story about a “black market” of smuggling out desperate Afghans for high fees.

The jury awarded Young $5 million in compensatory damages. An undisclosed settlement was reached later Friday regarding punitive damages, according to the judge overseeing the case. Details of that settlement were not immediately available.

Young had argued that his business targeted sponsors who could afford to pay for Afghans to get out, not individual Afghans charged as much as $10,000 for the service. While CNN said it was wrong to use the phrase “black market,” it contended that its reporting on Young was accurate.

CNN said it would have no comment on the verdict.

Young’s lawyers urged jurors to send a message to the media. Questions submitted by jurors during the trial telegraphed some hostility, with one wondering whether CNN had treated the plaintiff as guilty until proven innocent.

Private messages also became part of the trial, with plaintiffs showing internal messages where CNN’s reporter, Alex Marquardt, said some profane and unflattering things about Young. Marquardt testified in the trial that his story “was not a hit piece.”

Marquardt’s story first aired on Nov. 11, 2021, during Jake Tapper’s CNN broadcast, and subsequent printed stories were used on the network’s website.

Defamation trials are actually rare in the United States, in part because the strong constitutional protections for the press make proving libel difficult. From the media’s standpoint, taking a case to a judge or jury is a risk many executives don’t want to take.

Rather than defend statements that George Stephanopoulos made about Trump last spring, ABC News last month agreed to make the former president’s libel lawsuit go away by paying him $15 million toward his presidential library.

Kristi Noem Vows to Nuke Biden’s ‘Concierge Service’ for Illegal Migrants

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Department of Homeland Security Secretary, vowed Friday to nuke President Joe Biden’s CBP One app policy that enables illegal migrants to pour into the U.S.

The Biden administration killed Trump’s Title 42 border restrictions and instead allowed foreigners to apply for asylum using their phones, according to a White House fact sheet released on Jan. 5, 2023.

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., pressed Noem during her confirmation hearing on whether she would continue what became a “concierge service for illegal immigrants” if she gets voted in to replace Biden’s impeached DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

“Talk about CBP One, the phone app that I’ve called ‘Concierge Service for Illegal Immigrants.’ I’m sure you’re familiar with it,” Hawley began, explaining that the CBP One app “never asks users, ‘Are you seeking asylum?’”

Hawley explained that the CBP One app had been “completely abused” under Biden.

He asked Trump’s DHS nominee, “The idea that the federal government would pay for this concierge service for illegals, I think is outrageous. Will you end the use of the CBP One app?”

Noem did not hesitate to back a strong, secure border in her response to the GOP senator.

The DHS secretary nominee suggested that she would eliminate the CBP One app on the first day Trump is president—if she gets confirmed that early.

“Yes, senator, if confirmed, and I have the opportunity to be secretary on day one, CBP One will be shut down,” Noem said.

Noem brought fire to her confirmation hearing, torching Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., for the “300,000 children that went missing during the Biden administration”—she dodged his “Trump family separation” question.

Noem declared her top priority will be “to make sure that our nation is a nation with borders or we’re no nation at all.”

‘I Was Frankly Impressed:’ Bill Gates Now Sucking up to Trump

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The New York Times revealed last October that billionaire Bill Gates made a secretive $50 million donation to support Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential run.

But like Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and other tech moguls, Gates is apparently having second thoughts in the wake of Trump’s landslide victory of Harris. The Microsoft co-founder told the Wall Street Journal that he recently spoke with Trump about global health challenges, and came away from the meeting impressed.

“I had a chance, about two weeks ago, to go have a long and actually quite intriguing dinner with him,” Gates said during an interview with Journal Editor in Chief Emma Tucker, the contents of which were published Friday.

“I felt like he was energized and looking forward to helping to drive innovation,” Gates reportedly said. “I was frankly impressed with how well he showed a lot of interest in the issues I brought up.”

While Trump and Gates may seem like an unlikely duo, they do have something in common: Much to the chagrin of MAGA diehards, they’re both in favor of the experimental COVID-19 vaccine. Gates spoke about that to the Journal.

“He, in the Covid days, accelerated the vaccine innovation,” Gates reportedly said. “So I was asking him if maybe the same kind of thing could be done here, and we both got, I think, pretty excited about that.”

Gates was referring to  the Trump administration’s controversial Operation Warp Speed, which fast-tracked the development of the COVID-19 vaccine. Critics, including the nominee to head the Department of Health and Human Services, have argued that the MNRA shots produced by Warp Speed have had massive health side effects—while failing to stop the spread of COVID.

However, both Trump and Gates have maintained that the vaccine program was a success. Trump also has the House GOP echoing that line. The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic released its final report in December, deeming Warp Speed as a “tremendous success and a model to build upon in the future.”

“The vaccines, which are now probably better characterized as therapeutics, undoubtedly saved millions of lives by diminishing likelihood of severe disease and death,” the report said.

“The subcommittee report quoted Dr. Fauci as one of its sources that Warp Speed was a success. By nearly all accounts, this was an incredible feat of science which was made possible by the unique structure of OWS. Dr. Fauci, though reluctant to give credit to the Trump Administration, characterized the effort as ‘the best decision [he’s] ever made with regard to an intervention as director of the institute,’” the report said.

Cruz Blasts Billionaires Who Back the Democrat Party Amid Trump ‘Tech Titan’ Media Spin

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, blasted the billionaires who back the Democrat Party on Friday’s episode of his podcast.

As “tech titan” CEOs from ex-anti-Trump companies like Amazon, Google and Meta move toward Trump, leftist media outlets have spun their kowtowing to the president-elect as an “oligarchy.”

President Joe Biden repeated this talking point Wednesday night in his farewell speech when he warned Americans of a “tech industrial complex.”

On Verdict with Ted Cruz, the senator called out Democrats mad that Trump has one Big Tech billionaire as an ally, Elon Musk, while others like Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg scramble to get in Trump’s good graces.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., unsuccessfully tried to trip up Trump’s treasury secretary nominee, Scott Bessent, with a rant about the U.S. being “an oligopoly form of society” during his confirmation hearing on Thursday.

On Sanders’s remarks, Cruz pointed out that Biden “celebrated” billionaire Democrat donor George Soros by awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom on Jan. 4.

“George Soros just got the Medal of Freedom from Joe Biden. He celebrated. He also gave it to Hillary Clinton and, and by the way, before that, Barack Obama gave the Medal of Freedom to Bill Gates,” Cruz said. “And listen, the position of Bernie Sanders is ‘we hate billionaires, unless you’re billionaires who support socialists and the Democrat Party. Then you’re okay. But to be clear, you’re only okay if you’re buying absolution.’”

The senator added that Musk did not inherit his wealth—he earned it.

“Elon Musk came as an immigrant from Africa like he built amazing companies and to a socialist, they don’t care what you did to build wealth. They’re going to demonize you. They’re going to attack you,” Cruz said. “And it’s an example of and by the way, it’s why you get so many incredibly rich, so many billionaires who back the Democrat Party, because they’re basically paying for protection from Robespierre, from the guillotine in the French Revolution and, I gotta say that is where the Democrat Party is.”

He gave Bessent a shout out for hitting back at Sanders with “fantastic answers,” which prompted the Vermont senator to “run for the hill”

“Scott Bessent is going to get confirmed. Every Trump cabinet member is going to get confirmed,” Cruz said with confidence.
