The Hubris of Central Planning: A Lesson from Jim Grant

(Money Metals News Service) In the latest episode of the Money Metals Midweek Memo, host Mike Maharrey delved into the perils of central planning and the inherent limitations of human knowledge, drawing on insights from economist Friedrich Hayek and financial expert Jim Grant.

The episode offered a critical examination of the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy and its implications for the economy.

Planning in Uncertainty

Maharrey began with personal anecdotes to illustrate the unpredictability of life. He shared stories of a day disrupted by a flat tire and an unexpected plumbing issue during a home renovation, underscoring the theme that “you don’t know what you don’t know.” This unpredictability, he argued, is a fundamental flaw in central economic planning.

The Knowledge Problem

Maharrey referenced Friedrich Hayek’s seminal work, “The Use of Knowledge in Society,” to explain why central planning is doomed to fail. Hayek’s “knowledge problem” posits that no central planner can possess all the information necessary to make informed economic decisions. Hayek wrote, “The knowledge of the circumstances of which we must make use never exists in concentrated or integrated form but solely as the dispersed bits of incomplete and frequently contradictory knowledge which all the separate individuals possess.”

Jim Grant’s Critique of Central Planning

Maharrey highlighted an interview with Jim Grant on Fox Business, where Grant criticized the Federal Reserve’s approach to monetary policy. Grant described central planning as “the ignorance that knows not it’s ignorant,” a phenomenon where policymakers fail to recognize the limits of their knowledge. He stressed the importance of markets in discovering interest rates rather than having them imposed by central authorities.

Grant also pointed out the flaws in the Federal Reserve’s interest rate projections, noting that they are accurate only 38% of the time, which Maharrey compared to flipping a coin. This statistic underscores the speculative nature of central banking decisions. In the interview, Grant made a compelling point: “Assumptions are harmless as long as the assuming party doesn’t confuse them with foreknowledge.”

Historical Perspective

To provide context, Maharrey reflected on the contrasting attitudes of policymakers in 1953, the first year of President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s administration. At that time, there was a commitment to balancing the budget and restoring the dollar to gold convertibility. Federal Reserve Chairman William McChesney Martin lauded the free market and emphasized that fixed interest rates and economic dysfunction were not part of American institutions.

In contrast, today’s Federal Reserve is deeply involved in manipulating markets and interest rates. Maharrey pointed out that despite their confidence, central planners are inevitably blind to the full consequences of their actions, leading to economic dysfunction. “The future is a phenomenon both strange and wondrous though it doesn’t exist unless we reckon with it,” Grant remarked, highlighting the unpredictability of economic outcomes.

The Current Economic Climate

Maharrey criticized the current mindset that the Federal Reserve has everything under control, attributing the stock market’s highs to easy money policies rather than effective economic governance. He argued that the apparent stability over the past two decades has given people a false sense of security, ignoring the underlying issues that could lead to future economic crises.

Maharrey expressed significant skepticism about Jerome Powell and the Federal Reserve’s ability to manage the economy effectively. He argued that central planners, including Powell, are often overly confident in their ability to predict and control economic outcomes, despite lacking the necessary comprehensive knowledge.

Maharrey emphasized that “they don’t know what they don’t know,” highlighting the inherent unpredictability and complexity of economic systems.

He pointed out that the Federal Reserve’s interest rate projections are only accurate 38% of the time, suggesting that their decisions are more speculative than scientific. Maharrey was critical of the Fed’s past and current policies, including the handling of the 2008 financial crisis and the response to the pandemic, which he believes have led to long-term economic instability.

Maharrey also criticized the mainstream investment world for treating Fed officials like “demigods handing down wisdom from on high,” despite their frequent inaccuracies and failures. He argued that the Fed’s current monetary policies, including interest rate manipulation, are based on hubris and a false sense of certainty, leading to potential future economic crises.

The Importance of Humility

Maharrey echoed Grant’s advice for investors and policymakers to approach their predictions with humility. Grant reminded us that the future is uncertain and that past successes do not guarantee future accuracy. Maharrey emphasized that understanding historical economic trends and fundamentals can help make more informed predictions, but one must always remain cautious and prepared for unexpected events.

“Hubris almost always gets you in trouble,” Maharrey warned, reflecting on Grant’s insights about exaggerated pride and self-confidence.

Preparing for Uncertainty

In conclusion, Maharrey stressed the importance of having a safe haven like gold and silver in one’s investment portfolio to hedge against economic uncertainty. He encouraged listeners to contact Money Metals Exchange to explore opportunities in precious metals, especially during periods of market volatility.

Final Thoughts

Maharrey wrapped up the episode by inviting listeners to stay informed through Money Metals’ various platforms and to tune in to their regular podcasts for more insights into the precious metals markets and economic trends. “Just because nothing bad has happened yet doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen,” Maharrey cautioned, urging a proactive approach to financial preparedness.

FBI Director Claims He Hasn’t Noticed Joe Biden’s Cognitive Decline

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) FBI Director Christopher Wray testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday about the assassination attempt against presidential frontrunner Donald Trump, but Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., used most of his time to ask about perhaps the only political topic more important than the Trump shooting: Who is running the country?

Gaetz began by asking Wray how many times he briefs President Joe Biden. Wray said sometimes he goes months without briefing the president, but other times he’ll provide briefings within days of each other.

“When did you notice his decline?” Gaetz asked Wray as a follow-up, to which the FBI director responded: “All my interactions with the President have been completely professional.”

Gaetz kept pressing. He clarified that he wasn’t seeking Wray’s opinion about Biden’s professionalism, but about his ability to process information.

“I don’t meet with him very often, but what you’re describing is not something I’ve observed during my interactions,” Wray insisted. That prompted incredulity from Gaetz, who noted that even Biden’s own party has noticed his cognitive decline.

“Who’s running the country? If something happens, do you brief Biden now?” Gaetz asked.

Wray provided a non-answer:

“And I’ve briefed him they’ve all been uneventful and unremarkable,” Wray said again, prompting Gaetz to quip: “I bet they have.”

“I take you at your word that this is the most complicated threat environment of your career,” Gaetz continued.

“Is Biden up to it? And if he’s not, who’s been in on the conspiracy theory to hide Biden throughout the years. It never occurred to you in all your briefings that this guy wasn’t up to the task?”

Wray stuck to his story: “As I said, my briefings with the president have all been completely fine. There hasn’t been anything of note.”

While Wray claims to not have noticed Biden’s cognitive decline, other federal investigators have. Special Counsel Robert Hur, for instance, cited Biden’s failing cognitive abilities as a reason for not prosecuting him for mishandling classified information.

“Mr. Biden’s memory was significantly limited, both during his recorded interviews with the ghostwriter in 2017, and in his interview with our office in 2023,” Hur said in his February report on the matter.

‘MAGA Communists’ Reject U.S. Wokeism as Intra-Party Schism Leaves Both Sides Wary

(Elias Irizarry, Headline USA) A recent feud between communists in the United States resulted in the creation of the American Communist Party, reportedly splitting from the historical Communist Party USA, formed in 1919.

The infighting reportedly started after the 32nd Convention of the CPUSA, when the party passed “Resolution No. 5” pushing members to support President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party. According to supporters of the ACP, CPUSA leader Joe Sims purged members who refused to support the Biden–Harris campaign.

They additionally claimed that the CPUSA had been taken over by social-justice warriors, promoting transgenderism and other Democrat talking points that they argued historical communists were opposed to, as well as being complicit in the invasion of Gaza by Israel.

The ACP’s Plenary Committee met in Chicago on July 21 and signed their party declaration, which condemned the CPUSA as a puppet organization of the Democratic Party.

In their founding document, they accused the CPUSA of replacing “serious Marxist–Leninist education with eclectic seminars given from the liberal perspective, designed primarily to instill allegiance to the Democratic Party.”

According to the declaration, the split was endorsed by 26 different chapters of the CPUSA, including cities such as Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Charlotte, Seattle and San Diego.

“It’s time for a new beginning in the City of Brotherly Love,” wrote the Dubois–Robeson Club of Philadelphia on X.

“No more following around Democrats. No more class collaborationism,” they added. “From now on, we will be uncompromising Marxist–Leninists fighting for the people of our city.”

The Chairman of the ACP, Haz Al-Din, previously made headlines as early as 2022 by pitching “MAGA Communism” at rallies of former President Donald Trump on YouTube videos.

“We all come together: the workers striking at the railways, the MAGA industrial working class, the small farmers, we all unite with our power,” he said at a recent rally. “We kick out the globalists. We kick out George Soros. We kick out Klaus Schwab. We stop that Great Reset agenda in its tracks.”

Another member of the Plenary Committee, Jackson Hinkle, previously pitched the ideology on One America News Network, Tucker Carlson Tonight and the Chris Cuomo Project.

“Communism and Marxism historically have been conservative,” Hinkle dubiously claimed on OANN. “It’s a new era in the West that made it adhere to liberal-leftist values. This is not true Marxism. It’s Marxism funded by George Soros.”

In February 2024, after being elected to the International Movement of Russophiles, Hinkle reportedly had dinner in Moscow with Sergey Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia.

By July 23, Sims and his fellow co-chair, Rosanna Cambron, were forced to address the newly formed ACP, issuing a letter to all chapters and followers of CPUSA.

The letter denied the claims by the ACP that the schism originated from the CPUSA, as well as that 26 different chapters joined the new organization, saying it was “birthed outside of our ranks from several pro-Trump individuals calling themselves MAGA Communists, imitating and opportunistically hoping to benefit from Trump’s movement.”

They went on to denounce it as antithetical to the true objectives of the communist platform.

“Ideologically it represents a populist phenomenon that appears left but under the impact of U.S. great power chauvinism takes a number of right-wing positions,” wrote Cambron and Sims. “It is a provocation and diversion from our goals and aims that opens the door to right-wing and even fascist thinking in the working class movement.”

Branches such as the Communist Party of Iowa City took to social media and denied the claims that they had joined the ACP, writing “The ACP outfit has nothing to do with our District of Iowa/Nebraska, the Iowa City Club or members, and any use of party identity or claims that our members and clubs are organizing under this formation are libel and slanderous.

However, the ACP responded by stating that the local chapters don’t have control of their social media pages, claiming that the accounts are “controlled by individuals acting on behalf of the Sims clique, not by authentic representatives of the club itself.”

The infighting took to the comment sections of CPUSA posts.

One user by the name of @nerdhlic1 commented on a post of CPUSA members at a “Pride” march, writing, “to cpusa members who don’t want to have their energy wasted doing this s**t or canvassing for kamala harris (lol): there’s another way…”

Another user, by the name of @InfraNikita, posted a political cartoon of Sims riding a donkey—insinuating that the CPUSA leader is a Democrat, and adding that “the #AmericanCommunistParty is rising and you can do NOTHING about it.”

Schumer Awkwardly Applauds Himself for Endorsing Kamala Harris

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., awkwardly endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for president on Tuesday, with those in attendance failing to match their enthusiasm, according to Twitchy.

The audience received the news silently, forcing Schumer to applaud his own announcement.

“From the grassroots, bottom up, we are here to throw our support behind Vice President Kamala Harris!” Schumer said excitedly, despite the obvious fact that Harris’s installment as de-facto nominee came from the top down, without ever receiving a single primary vote.

The room was silent for a moment, then Schumer started clapping, saying “I’m clapping; you don’t have to.”

At the end of his speech, he actually asked for the audience to applaud.

“Vice President Harris will beat Donald Trump and become the next president of the United States of America!” He said, again, only greeted by an awkward pause. “Applause?”

People compared the situation to former presidential candidate Jeb Bush’s campaign, where he literally asked people to “please clap.”

Symbollically, it marked the end of his campaign, in which he had begun as the odds-on favorite with a substantial campaign war chest but found himself humiliated in the debates by Trump’s goading and pointed attacks on the Bush family’s RINO record.

“Big ‘Please Clap’ energy,” said Twitter user Curtis Johnson.

“lmao this clip perfectly sums up how things are going for the Democrats,” user HelioWave said.

At least one pointed out that the people in attendance were mainly mainstream media outlets who, in spite of their unwavering loyalty to the Democrat agenda, continue to believe that by maintaining a veneer of neutrality they can dupe audiences into believing they are providing objective, factual information.

“That he expects the ‘non partisan’ press to clap, speaks volumes,” pointed out user Bleu Cheque.

The acceptance of Harris as the presidential candidate has varied from blatant lack of enthusiasm to insistence in the veep’s unprecedented political genius, with very little middle ground.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., lauded Harris for her many political achievements.

“Officially, I have seen Kamala Harris’s strength and courage as a champion for working families, notably fighting for a woman’s right to choose,” she said.

“Personally, I have known Kamala Harris for decades as rooted in strong values, faith and a commitment to public service,” she continued. “Politically, make no mistake: Kamala Harris as a woman in politics is brilliantly astute–and I have full confidence that she will lead us to victory in November.”

Reports indicated that Pelosi was one of the key influences in persuading President Joe Biden to step down as the incumbent nominee—largely by threatening to invoke the 25th Amendment to declare him unfit if he refused.

Grassley, Cortez Masto Want Senate to Confirm Secret Service Head

(Kim Jarrett, The Center Square) U.S. Sens. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Catherine Cortez Masto, D-Nev., filed a bill that would require Senate confirmation of Secret Service directors and impose a 10-year term limit.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned Tuesday, a day after a House committee grilled her over security at a Butler, Penn. event where former President Donald Trump was shot in an assassination attempt.

“President Trump’s brush with death was a Secret Service failure of epic proportions, and this mission failure must never be repeated,” Grassley said. “In light of former Director Cheatle’s resignation, Congress must now move quickly to pass our legislation and put a qualified individual at the agency’s helm.”

Cortez Masto said the bill, called the “Providing Real Oversight and Transparency to Effectively Counter Threats” or PROTECT Act, would scrutinize the Secret Service director like other federal law enforcement officers.

“The Secret Service is a critically important law enforcement agency, and it’s past time we started treating it that way,” Cortez Masto said.

The heads of the FBI, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshals Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms, U.S. Immigration & Customs Enforcement and Customs & Border Protection are already confirmed by the Senate, the senators said. The Secret Service has more staff than the U.S. Marshals and the ATF, according to information on the bill. The agency’s mission is protection and criminal investigation.

“The USSS employs over 3,802 special agents, 1,574 Uniformed Division officers and more than 2,680 technical professional and administrative support personnel who help carry out these two primary objectives,” according to information provided by Grassley and Cortez Masto. “However, public reports for more than a decade have noted USSS staffing shortages that may impact the agency’s protective mission.”

Cheatle gave short answers with little detail to U.S. House Oversight Committee members on Monday. She was questioned about how the shooter made it to the unoccupied roof and why Trump was allowed on stage even after authorities deemed the shooter as “suspicious.”

One man died as a result of the shooting. Trump and two others were injured.

Utah Attorney Catches FBI Deception in OKC Bomb Records Case

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Last month, the Justice Department asked a judge to pause a lawsuit seeking records about the FBI’s involvement with the Oklahoma City bombing. But in doing so, the DOJ and the FBI made statements so misleading they merit sanctions, according to the plaintiff in that case, Utah attorney Jesse Trentadue.

The deception spotted by Trentadue stems from a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit he filed against the FBI in February, seeking records about Roger Edwin Moore, who was a CIA asset, an FBI informant and a business associate to OKC bomber Tim McVeigh; as well as for records about the Aryan Republican Army, a neo-Nazi bank-robbery gang also involved in the attack.

Trentadue filed the lawsuit after waiting nine years for the FBI to process his FOIA request for those records. Despite that long wait, the FBI then asked a federal judge for another nearly 12 years to release the records he seeks.

Then, last month the bureau represented to a federal judge that many of the records Trentadue wants are already on the FBI’s website. But according to Trentadue, that’s a lie.

“That statement is so misleading as to merit sanctions. The BOMBROB records posted by the FBI, for example, consist of just 5,514 pages, not the 36,795 pages of responsive documents that the Bureau claims to possess,” Trentadue said in a Tuesday court filing, responding to the FBI’s request to pause his lawsuit. BOMBROB was FBI’s investigation of the ARA.

“More importantly, of these 5,514 pages, only 51 pages reference McVeigh. Similarly, the FBI’s website contains just 229 pages of records on Roger Edwin Moore, not the 31,129 pages of responsive records that the Bureau claims to have located, and none of these records involve Moore’s participation in Operation Punchout,” Trentadue added, referencing the FBI operation in which Moore served as an informant.

Trentadue also took issue with the FBI telling the judge that he agreed to receive records at a rate of 500 pages per month, which would mean it would take about 12 years to receive them all. Trentadue explained that he initially was OK with receiving 500 records per month on a rolling basis nearly a decade ago—as opposed to waiting for the FBI to gather all the records and send them in one batch.

“Plaintiff agreed to receiving the document sin 500-page increments on a CD as they were processed, whereby he would not have to wait until all of the records were processed before receiving them,” he explained in his Tuesday filing. “Plaintiff NEVER agreed to the FBI processing the documents at the rate of only 500-pages per month.”

For Trentadue, dealing with DOJ/FBI deception is nothing new. For instance, in a separate lawsuit seeking surveillance footage of the OKC bombing, a federal judge is investigating allegations that the FBI tampered with one of his witnesses. Trentadue referenced that ongoing scandal in his Tuesday response to the FBI.

“It can fairly be said that the only difference between the FBI and Russian KGB is that the KGB never claimed to be a legitimate law enforcement agency. It can also be fairly said that in cases such as this involving an overarching specter of government malfeasance, the FBI has been and will be anything but honest and candid with the court,” he said.

Trentadue wants the presiding judge to order the FBI to give him records at the rate of 5,500 pages per month.

In his Tuesday filing, he noted that the 30th anniversary of the OKC bombing is this April. He argued that there’s immense public interest in that case, and attached two articles written by this reporter as evidence of that. To Trentadue’s point, Headline USA’s article about his initial lawsuit in February is currently the third-most viewed story on this site in 2024.

“The court should deny the FBI’s motion to stay and commence with the BOMBROB request because of the upcoming anniversary of the Oklahoma City Bombing … The court should also order the FBI to process the records at the rate of 5,500 pages per month with interim month-end releases of the documents processed during each month, which will result in Plaintiff receiving all of the records in about 13 months instead of 11-plus years,” he said.

It’s not clear when the judge might decide on the matter.

Menendez Announces Senate Resignation Effective Next Month

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., will resign from the Senate after being convicted on 16 counts of corruption, including bribery and obstruction of justice.

On Tuesday, Menendez pledged to quit Congress in late August, caving to bipartisan pressure demanding his resignation. He had initially been allowed to remain in the Senate despite the disturbing allegations raised by the DOJ.

“While I fully intend to appeal the jury’s verdict, all the way and including to the Supreme Court, I do not want the Senate to be involved in a lengthy process that will detract from its important work,” the convicted senator wrote in a letter to New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy.

Murphy will appoint a replacement until January 2025, when a new senator will be sworn in. Menendez had announced his intention to run for re-election on June 3 but it is not immediately clear whether he will withdraw from the ballot.

First elected to the Senate in 1993, Menendez faced numerous corruption charges. Federal prosecutors successfully argued that the senator took over $480,000 in cash, gold bullion, home furnishings and a luxury Mercedes-Benz car from bribery dealings.

Two New Jersey businessmen, Wael Hana and Fred Daibes, were also convicted of crimes. As part of the scheme, Menendez used his influence to protect Hana’s and Daibes’s business interests.

He also took actions to benefit the government of Egypt. Menendez also sought to disrupt a New Jersey criminal case against businessman Jose Uribe’s associates.

“This case has always been about shocking levels of corruption. … This wasn’t politics as usual; this was politics for profit,” said U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, who led the case.

He added, “Corruption isn’t costless: it erodes public trust, and it undermines the rule of law. That’s why we’re so committed to fighting it, regardless of political party.”

Following Menendez’s conviction, senators threatened to oust him from office if he did not resign.

“I call on Senator Menendez to resign. I originally did so last fall because of the severity of the allegations against him and how they shook the public’s trust,” said Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J.

Menendez is set to be sentenced on Oct. 29 and faces a maximum sentence of 222 years in federal prison. Menendez has two children, Alicia Menendez, an MSNNC anchor, Rep. Rob Menendez, D-N.J., who was sworn into office on Jan. 3, 2023.

Menendez’s wife, Nadine Menendez, was also implicated in the investigation and is heading to trial in August. She was set to be tried with her husband but was separated as she is battling breast cancer.

J6 Chair, Who Tried to Cut Trump’s Secret Service, May Lead Assassination Probe

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Democrats are reportedly eyeing Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., for the soon-to-be authorized bipartisan panel to investigate the assassination attempt against President Donald Trump.

Thompson, a vicious anti-MAGA Democrat, led the anti-Trump Jan. 6 Committee and introduced legislation to strip Trump of Secret Service protection in April—just months before Trump narrowly escaped death.

The Democratic lawmaker is facing calls demanding his immediate resignation over the infamous bill’s timing. “Kick his ass out of Congress. Absolute scumbag,” wrote Trump’s running mate, JD Vance on Twitter.

Thompson’s field director also lamented that the shooter did not kill Trump. “I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops that wasn’t me talking,” the woman, Jacqueline Marsaw, wrote.

According to Punchbowl News, Democrats could soon elevate Thompson, despite his flagrant anti-Trump bias, to the panel investigating security failures that led to the shooting at a Pennsylvania rally on July 13.

The shooting claimed the life of beloved firefighter Corey Comperatore. He was fatally shot while heroically protecting his wife and daughters.

In an April press release, Thompson defended the bill as a measure to prevent logistical problems when Secret Service recipients face jail time. However, in media interviews, he suggested the bill was intended to strip benefits from individuals who violate the law.

“[The bill] makes sure that those individuals at the highest seat of power understand that there are penalties that apply to you, even when you’re president of the United States,” Thompson told MSNBC in April.

His bill came just weeks after a jury in deep-blue Manhattan convicted Trump in a criminal case resurrected by Alvin Bragg, the George Soros-funded Manhattan district attorney.

Bragg ran for DA in 2021 under the pledge to use the justice system against Trump, who was then a former president.

Kamala Still Backing Fund to Bail Out Accused Murderers, Rapists

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris is actively fundraising for an infamous “freedom” fund accused of bailing out individuals charged with heinous crimes, including rape and murder, the Washington Free Beacon reported on Tuesday.

On June 1, 2022—less than a week after George Floyd’s death—Harris asked her Twitter followers to “chip in now” to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, a fund that bailed out Black Lives Matter-tied protesters following Floyd’s passing.

In 2022, the fund raised over $41 million for bailing out individuals. However, only $210,000 of the funds were used to bail out BLM protesters, with the rest going to bail out violent individuals.

Harris’s tweet, two years later, remains active, as does the link to the fundraiser. “Your support will help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota,” the Act Blue-hosted page read.

Among those who benefited from the multimillion-dollar fund were Christopher Boswell, a twice-convicted rapist, and George Howard, a “career criminal,” according to the Free Beacon.

The Minnesota Freedom Fund paid $350,000 for Howard’s release after he faced kidnapping and sexual assault charges. Three weeks later, he shot and killed someone during a road rage incident.

Shawn Michael Tillman, also bailed out by the Minnesota Freedom Fund, shot and killed someone a month after being bailed. He was sentenced to life, according to KSTP Eyewitness News.

The fund also paid $100,000 to bail out then-accused murderer Darnika Denise Floyd. According to court records reviewed by Headline USA, Floyd was found guilty of second-degree murder and sentenced to 14 years in state prison.

As reported by the Free Beacon, “The Minnesota Freedom Fund continues to reap dividends from Harris’s fundraising efforts well into 2024.” Harris’s landing page for the fund remains active, with her defunct 2020 campaign logo.

The Free Beacon confirmed that the link is still processing donations after its reporter contributed an undisclosed amount to the fund.

In 2022, Harris falsely accused those who highlighted her fundraising efforts for the Minnesota Freedom Fund of participating in a “misinformation” campaign—a term often used by Democrats to dismiss fact-based criticisms.

He’s Alive! Biden Plans ‘Proof of Life’ Press Conference Wednesday to Outline Future Plans

President Joe Biden released a vague statement Tuesday morning raising more questions than answers about his health and future in the White House.

“Tomorrow evening at 8 PM ET, I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead, and how I will finish the job for the American people,” Biden wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter Tuesday morning.

Biden’s short statement gave no more details about his condition or plans going forward.

Biden’s promise to address the nation on “what lies ahead” comes after his announcement he will not seek reelection and swirls of rumors about his health and whether he will even finish this term.

His lack of public appearances amid the health issues and handoff to Harris have only furthered concerns.

In a letter posted on social media on Sunday announcing his decision to not seek reelection, Biden promised to “speak to the nation later this week in more detail” about the decision.

Despite handily winning the Democratic primary, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to take his place at the top of the ticket. Harris has quickly gathered Democratic donors, endorsements and the needed delegates to all but cement her nomination.

Biden’s downfall escalated after a disastrous debate against former President Donald Trump at the end of June sparked calls for him to step aside from his own party. Biden’s incoherence, fumbles and long pauses put his cognitive decline on full display and raised serious concerns about the health of the president.

Biden initially refused to step down, but pressure from elected Democrats, donors and party insiders grew.

Then, Biden reportedly had a medical issue which the White House said was COVID. He has been recovering but announced Sunday he would leave the presidential race.

Republicans have argued that if Biden is not fit to run for reelection, then he is not fit to remain president.

“If Joe Biden ends his reelection campaign, how can he justify remaining President?” Vice Presidential candidate Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, wrote on X Sunday.

“Not running for reelection would be a clear admission that President Trump was right all along about Biden not being mentally fit enough to serve as Commander-in-Chief,” Vance added. “There is no middle ground.”
