Kamala Tries to Defend Biden’s Debate Flop: ‘Slow Start But Strong Finish’

(Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris tried to downplay President Joe Biden’s embarrassing debate performance on Thursday night, arguing he had a “slow start” but a “strong finish.”

Biden’s rambling answers and frail appearance caused widespread panic in the Democratic Party after the debate ended, with several prominent pundits calling on him to drop out of the race and let the Democratic establishment choose someone else to head the 2024 ticket.

“Some within your own party are wondering if President Biden should even step aside. What do you say to that?” CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked Harris on Thursday night.

“What we saw tonight was the president making a very clear contrast with Donald Trump on all the issues that matter to the American people. It was a slow start, but it was a strong finish,” she replied. “Joe Biden is extraordinarily strong.”

Harris claimed people shouldn’t just focus on “a one and a half hour debate tonight,” but on Biden’s “three and a half years of performance and work that has been historic.”

Biden has also tried for a post-debate reset, telling reporters on Friday, “I don’t debate as well as I used to,” but “I know how to do this job.”

Biden and Harris’s response to criticism of his debate performance suggests both would be unwilling to step aside voluntarily as some on the Left are demanding.

Biden campaign spokesperson Lauren Hitt even addressed these demands head-on, saying Friday, “Of course he’s not dropping out. Let’s keep going.”

David Plouffe, former campaign manager and senior adviser to former President Barack Obama, confirmed the unlikeliness of Biden willingly stepping aside.

“There’s really only two scenarios,” he told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow. “One, which is not going to happen, would be Joe Biden decides to step down, and we have a fascinating seven-week campaign to get the supportive delegates in Chicago. The only other option is somehow to right the ship here.”

Triumphant Trump Overwhelms Senile Biden, Exposes Dem’s Failing Health

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump emerged victorious in his CNN debate against President Joe Biden, exposing the 81-year-old president as struggling with coherence, plagued by a raspy voice and appearing visibly confused.

As soon as Biden took the stage, his voice was noticeably strained and his gait was nearly forced. His fragility was particularly evident in his attempt to defend his administration’s handling of the economy amid rising inflation and financial insecurity.

Biden specifically claimed, “[We’re] making sure that we’re able to make every single solitary person eligible for what I’ve been able to do with… the COVID. Excuse me, with… dealing with everything we have to do with — look — if — we finally beat Medicare.”

In response, a fired-up Trump interjected, “Well he’s right. He did beat Medicaid. Beat it to death.”

Later in the debate, during a discussion on immigration, Trump seized on Biden’s disjointed statements, remarking, “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence. I don’t think he knows what he said either.”

Downplaying the tragic murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley by an illegal alien, Biden implied that other girls face similar fates, saying, “Here’s the deal, there’s a lot of young women who get raped by their in-laws, by their spouses, brothers and sisters.”

Riley was murdered by an illegal alien admitted by the Biden administration through the baffling open border policies, authorities allege.

Throughout the debate, Trump underscored the consequences of Biden’s immigration policies, highlighting the dangers of admitting a record number of illegal aliens.

But Trump’s critique and Biden’s verbal blunders did not end there.

Biden’s inconsistencies extended to rambling about “1,000 trillionaires in America,” boasting about an imaginary successful Afghanistan withdrawal (13 U.S. servicemen died under Biden’s watch) and falsely claiming the Border Patrol union endorsed him (it didn’t).

The list of demonstrably false claims continued: Biden wrongly stated his son, Beau Biden, died in Iraq (he didn’t), and stumbled while falsely denying raising taxes on Americans making less than $400,000 a year (he did).

In response, Trump hit back hard.

When Biden called him a “convicted felon,” Trump retorted: “When he talks about a convicted felon, his son is a convicted felon. … He can be a convicted felon as soon as he gets out of office. Joe could be a convicted felon with all of the things that he’s done.”

The contrast in energy, sharpness, and wit was stark, likely raising further concerns among Democrats ahead of the 2024 general election, where Trump currently enjoys strong poll numbers and a growing base of support.

Timing of Obama’s Criticism of Biden Sparks 2024 Rumors: She’s Running?

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The timing of an Axios report on Michelle Obama’s frustration with the Biden family coincides suspiciously with President Joe Biden’s humiliating debate with former President Trump.

Critics on social media are speculating whether the Thursday report is part of an effort to thwart the Biden campaign and potentially position Michelle Obama as a replacement for the Democratic nomination ahead of the 2024 election.

“Watching Biden’s excruciating debate performance tonight, I believe the odds are now greater than 80% that the Dems dump Biden,” said Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, on Twitter. “Nine months ago, on Verdict I predicted that the Dems would replace Biden with Michelle Obama. I think that’s going to happen.”

The Daily Wire co-founder Jeremy Boreing chimed in. “‘No way. Michelle Obama says she doesn’t want it.’ Yeah. So did Washington…” he wrote, referring to Founding Father George Washington who initially declined to be the first American president.

Best-selling author and national security expert Brigitte Gabriel echoed Boreign’s and Cruz’s assertions on a tweet. “Michelle Obama is refusing to campaign for Joe Biden because of their disgusting family dynamics. Is the Obama family planning a hostile takeover at the DNC?” she asked.

Journalist Clay Travis questioned the “interesting timing of the story.”  Former Texas Senator Don Huffines wrote, “The real winner of tonight’s debate is Michelle Obama… God help us.”

Reports from Axios reveal that Michelle Obama is deeply upset with how the Biden clan has mistreated Kathleen Buhle, Hunter Biden’s ex-wife and a close friend of Michelle.

This frustration has allegedly led Michelle to distance herself from Joe Biden’s shaky re-election campaign, with the former first lady noticeably silent about the campaign on social media.

The relationship between the Obamas and the Bidens reportedly soured in 2015 when then-President Barack Obama asked then-Vice President Joe Biden not to run for the Democratic nomination for president.

The tension reportedly peaked in the fall of 2017 when Barack Obama attended a fundraiser for the Beau Biden Foundation.

After the fundraiser, Barack Obama referred to the Biden dynamics as “weird sh*t.”

He was referring to the fact that Beau Biden’s widow, Hallie Biden, had become sexually involved with her brother-in-law, Hunter Biden.

Anti-Trump Judge Fined for Illegally Targeting DA Who Indicted Aides

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo received a scathing rebuke from the Texas Ethics Commission for illegally using government resources to advance her political agenda, reported the Texas Tribune on Thursday.

The commission slapped Hidalgo, an embattled Democrat, with a $500 fine after she violated ethics regulations by endorsing a political candidate during a press conference held at a taxpayer-funded facility in November 2023.

“I’m ready to take [District Attorney Kim Ogg] on March 5th and I’m so excited to know that she’s got such a fantastic opponent,” Hidalgo declared at the press event, directly violating the law, according to the ethics commission.

Her endorsement targeted Ogg, also a Democrat, who had previously indicted three of Hidalgo’s former aides on charges of political corruption. Ogg was subsequently ousted during a primary challenge on March 5.

Hidalgo, whose job is more of a county executive, recently drew fire for a contentious exchange with a reporter over her attacks on former President Donald Trump over the alleged murder of a 12-year-old girl at the hands of illegal aliens.

During a press briefing, Hidalgo accused Trump and Republicans of cynically exploiting the tragic murder of beloved Jocelyn Nungaray by two illegal aliens, according to authorities.

“It hurts even more that they’re being used as pawns in this fight over immigration that doesn’t even exist because Biden and [Senate Minority Mitch] McConnell agree. It’s just that Trump won’t let him move it forward,” Hidalgo said.

A reporter challenged her, stating, “You said this issue shouldn’t be politicized—but by pointing the finger at former President Trump and Republicans in Congress, aren’t you politicizing it?”

Hidalgo appeared visibly flustered and stumbled to explain her partisan comments.

Still Not Over It: Sad Hillary Shares Photo from 2016 Trump Debate

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is once again reflecting on her 2016 election defeat, this time by posting a photo on Instagram from her debate loss to then-future-president Donald Trump.

On the eve of the CNN debate between Trump and President Joe Biden on Thursday, Clinton couldn’t resist making the day about her.

She captioned her post, “A special debate day #tbt. (I was right about my opponent being Putin’s puppet, by the way.)”

The post references Clinton’s claim that Russian President Vladimir Putin “would rather have a puppet as president of the United States.”

Her 2016 remark came after Trump criticized Clinton, saying, “Putin, for everything I see, has no respect for this person.”

Some critics quickly reacted negatively to the post, with many telling Clinton to move on from her 2016 defeat. “Get over it omg,” one user wrote on Twitter.

Clinton’s Instagram post follows an op-ed she wrote for the New York Times, advising Biden on how to handle Trump’s overpowering charisma during debates.

“It is a waste of time to try to refute Mr. Trump’s arguments like in a normal debate,” Clinton whined, recalling her lost debates. “It’s nearly impossible to identify what his arguments even are. He starts with nonsense and then digresses into blather.”

This is not the first time Clinton has obsessively referenced the 2016 election, in which she lost to Trump in a 304-227 electoral college result.

In January 2024, Clinton shared screenshots showing her as the “projected winner” of the election. She was not.

Since her 2016 loss, Clinton has continued to push the narrative that Trump, not her, is obsessed with Putin.

“Why is Donald Trump so enamored of Putin?” Clinton asked during an interview on CNN. She then offered her answer with an unsubstantiated claim: “He’s a wannabe dictator. He has told us that repeatedly.”

Ashley Biden Insults LGBT People by Butchering Acronym at Pride Event

(Headline USA) Ashley Biden, President Joe Biden’s daughter, butchered the “LGBTQ” acronym during a White House Pride Month event on Wednesday in a gaffe reminiscent of her father’s.

“LGBCT…” Ashley Biden said towards the beginning of her remarks, before quickly closing her eyes and recovering. “LGBTQ students,” she corrected, “deserve to be safe at school, at home and in their communities. Period.”

She continued: “Too many LGBTQ children grow up in homes that don’t accept them.” But they deserve to feel “loved, accepted and supported,” the 43-year-old social worker added.

Ashley Biden also praised her father’s administration as “the most pro-equality administration in history.”

Republicans mocked Ashley Biden for accidentally insulting one of Democrats’ pet groups.

“L-G-B-what now?” the Republican National Committee’s RNC Research arm wrote on X.

Others pointed out that verbal gaffes must be a hereditary Biden trait.

“She’s a true Biden,” one X user quipped.

“Like father, like daughter,” another person chimed in.

“Obviously it runs in the family,” another X post read.

Joe Biden did not attend the White House event, opting to remain at Camp David to prepare for Thursday’s debate against former President Donald Trump.

Ashley Biden became the source of controversy in 2020 when her rehab diary was discovered and posted online.

In it, she claimed she had been “hyper-sexualized @ a young age” and that she took “showers with my dad (probably not appropriate).”

She was struggling with a drug addiction at the time of the diary’s publication.

Joe Biden has reportedly felt an “impenetrable sadness” over her struggles, as well as his son Hunter’s, and worries they will both relapse because of the public scrutiny on his family, although the concern was not so great to keep him from seeking re-election.

Ashley Biden has been a regular presence in the White House ever since her father took office, headlining several events.

“I finally feel like I’m in a place where I really know who I am,” she said in 2022. “I know my worth, I know my family.”

According to some reports, Trump is banned from bringing up the diary during the debate, even though it has been verified, much the way he was prevented from discussing Hunter Biden’s laptop during the 2020 debates.

Any attempt on his part to bring up verboten topics will result in CNN’s leftist anchors muting his microphone.

Former White House Staffer Blasts Biden’s Campaign for ‘Shielding’ Him from Public

(Headline USA) The former press secretary for first lady Jill Biden blasted the president’s inner circle for “shielding him” from the public, calling the reelection strategy a disaster.

“Everything looks and feels so choreographed, scripted and controlled that it doesn’t afford him the opportunities to show off his strengths—humor, empathy and compassion,” Michael LaRosa, who worked for the Biden White House from 2021 to 2022, told the New York Times.

The White House has kept a tight leash on Biden as he campaigns amid rising concerns about his mental acuity and age. However, the efforts to reduce his public gaffes have stripped him of his “superpower,” LaRosa said.

“Relatability is his superpower, but you can only relate to someone when their humanity is exposed. That means flaws, mistakes and everything else that comes with imperfection,” he added.

LaRosa isn’t the only former Biden staffer who has noticed a significant “change” in Biden’s campaigning.

Jay Carney, Biden’s former communications director during the Obama administration, admitted to the Times, “The biggest change has been his caution and precision about staying on script and sticking to the points he wants to make.”

The former staffer’s comments reflect the “simmering discontent” within the administration over the Biden campaign’s reelection strategy, according to the Times.

However, those concerned have learned to stay away from the issue, since the president’s age is the “radioactive nuclear rod of the Biden presidency” that “no one wants to touch despite the danger of leaving it unaddressed.”

And yet Biden’s slowing mental faculties are even more visible in private, the Times said.

“In private, Mr. Biden prepares for public appearances in advance with long meetings, turning a one-hour session into two hours, sometimes punctuated by meandering stories about long-dead senators,” the report states.

Concerns about Biden’s mental fitness are sure to be front and center in Thursday’s debate between the 81-year-old president and former President Donald Trump—assuming CNN allows Trump to raise them.

The left-leaning network has reportedly given the Republican hopeful a list of verboten topics, threatening to mute his mic if he brings any of them up, despite their possible relevance and public interest.

It is unclear that there are any such parameters being placed on Biden, who has been known to regularly lie and gaslight with impunity, dangerously suggesting that his predecessor is an existential threat to democracy while his own culpability in many far more egregious offenses remains unchecked.

‘Proud RINO’ Kinzinger Endorses Biden

(Headline USA) Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois announced this week that “as a proud conservative” he is endorsing President Joe Biden for reelection.

“It’s because of my unwavering support for democracy that today, as a proud conservative, I’m endorsing Joe Biden for reelection,” Kinzinger said in a statement.

In his bio on X, Kinzinger describes himself as a “Proud RINO” and has the American, Ukrainian, and Israeli flag emojis next to his name. He also has the phrase “Slava Ukraini” in his bio, which means “Glory to Ukraine.”

While in office, Kinzinger was one of the 10 House Republicans who voted in favor of impeaching then-President Donald Trump.

Facing a brutal primary loss in 2022, the Jan. 6 committee member—one of only two non-Democrats hand-picked by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.—opted not to run again.

Republicans at both the state and national level subsequently sought to censure him for his traitorous efforts to undermine GOP interests.

Since accepting a role as a CNN analyst, he has regularly posted on social media attacking conservative policies and policy-makers, suggesting that Kinzinger is, at best, a Democrat plant, albeit not a very convincing one.

He claimed that while he does not “agree with President Biden on everything … I know that he will always protect the very thing that makes America the best country in the world: Our democracy.”

Kinzinger also admitted that he just hates Trump more.

“Donald Trump poses a direct threat to every fundamental American value,” Kinzinger ranted.

“He doesn’t care about our country. He doesn’t care about you. He only cares about himself,” Kinzinger continued. “And he’ll hurt anyone or anything in pursuit of power.”

Naturally, Kinzinger cited the Jan. 6 uprising at the U.S. Capitol to explain why Trump is a supposed threat to democracy.

“I lived through Jan. 6. I didn’t watch it on TV. I was there. And I have a 2½-year-old kid that I do not want raised in a country where things like that are OK to happen,” he said. So, for me, it’s just we’ve got to put decency above, maybe, political differences, and it’s just the right thing to do.”

Republican-led examinations of the committee’s work have revealed that it actively cherry-picked information, coaching witnesses and suppressing those who did not fit the narrative it hoped to push out to the public, which pinned responsibility for the chaotic four-hour melee entirely on Trump and his supporters.

Thousands have since been prosecuted and have their lives destroyed for the simple act of entering the nation’s capitol to have their voices heard. Many were welcomed in by U.S. Capitol Police.

Biden responded to Kinzinger’s endorsement, saying, “This is what putting your country before your party looks like. I’m grateful for your endorsement, Adam.”

Biden, Trump Indicate Virginia Back in Play as Battleground State

(Sarah Roderick-Fitch, The Center Square) If there were any doubts that Virginia is returning to its status as a key battleground state in the upcoming presidential elections, visits by First Lady Jill Biden and former President Donald Trump would indicate confirmation.

Biden is scheduled to greet campaign volunteers in Virginia Beach on Thursday, hours before the president and former president will square off in their first presidential debate. Trump on Friday comes from Atlanta to a 3 p.m. rally in Chesapeake.

In January, the president and Vice President Kamala Harris essentially chose Virginia to kick off their bid for reelection by holding a joint event in Manassas with a focus on abortion.

In recent weeks, Trump has signaled Virginia is very much in play between visits and new campaign investments.

The most significant piece of evidence is that the Trump campaign is zeroing in on the commonwealth with plans to open 11 field offices, as reported by CBS News.

Earlier in the month, Trump met with Virginia’s Republican Gov. Glenn Youngkin during a closed-door meeting at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling to strategize how to win in the commonwealth. At the time, Youngkin told ABC 13 News Now that the commonwealth appears “competitive” in the presidential race.

“There’s a lot of interest in how this election is going to go,” Youngkin said. “So our political teams have been coordinating on how best to do that and we had to sit down and talk about it and we talked about Virginia and, and how I was able to win my election in 2021. And the lessons learned.”

Youngkin is expected to appear with Trump at the Friday rally. The governor did not attend a March rally by the Trump campaign in Richmond.

A May poll by Roanoke College shows Trump and Biden are neck-and-neck in the commonwealth, despite Biden beating Trump by over 10% in the 2020 election and Hillary Clinton handily winning Virginia in 2016.

The commonwealth has not gone for a GOP presidential candidate in 20 years, when former President George W. Bush was up for reelection.

Media Expect Biden to Have ‘Medical Emergency’ at Debate, Demand Studio Access

(Elias Irizarry, Headline USA) As Americans eagerly awaited Thursday’s first 2024 presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, hosted by CNN, members of the White House press corps had reportedly requested access to the debate stage out of concern that there may be a “medical emergency” involving one of the candidates.

The morning of the debate, senior reporter Paul Sperry of RealClearInvestigations, broke the news to the general public on X.

“White House press corps has petitioned CNN to open up the debate studio … b/c they believe there may be a ‘medical emergency’ involving one of the prez candidates requiring on-scene coverage,” Sperry wrote.

Per the agreed upon debate rules, the debate was to take place with no audience out of concern that presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump might feed off the energy of the live crowd. Witnesses also would prevent subsequent edits in the event of a serious Biden blunder, or if Trump strays from the leftist talking points prescribed by moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash.

According to Perry, the reporters covering the debate for other news organizations had been relegated to a building across the street, where they were expected to watch the debate via televised feed.

NBC News’s Kelly O’Donnell, president of the White House Correspondents Association, confirmed on Thursday afternoon, several hours after Sperry broke the news, that the request had been made.

She expressed dismay over CNN’s rejection of allowing even one pool reporter into the studio.

“WHCA is deeply concerned that CNN has rejected our repeated requests to include the White House travel pool inside the studio,” O’Donnell said in a statement.

“The pool is there for the ‘what ifs?’ in a world where the unexpected does happen,” O’Donnelll added. “Tonight’s debate will have no audience present and includes format rules that can silence candidates’ microphones. We don’t know how this will play out in real time.”

While Sperry did not name a specific candidate, users on X were quick to point to President Joe Biden—who has been the subject of frequent questions regarding possible cognitive decline concerning his age.

“I wonder which candidate that might be? The one who speaks off the cuff for 2 hours in 100 degree heat? Or the one who wears Velcro shoes?” replied Kevin Smith, founder of the Loud Majority.

Other users had more sinister theories regarding the request, suggesting that Democrats would fake a medical emergency to provide an excuse to replace Biden as the nominee, as polling continues to show Trump ahead of Biden.

Theories that Democrats would plan a bait-and-switch-type maneuver to replace Biden as the nominee have been swirling for months, with many hinting at the prospect of Gov. Gavin Newsom of California taking over the role.

Even Vice President Kamala Harris has been subject to possible replacement with suggestions that failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton could take over the role as Biden’s running mate.
