Silver Is Rebounding Following Its Year-End Selloff

(Jesse Colombo, Money Metals News Service) Silver is making a strong comeback at the start of 2025, following a challenging year-end performance in 2024.

There is good reason to suspect that bullion banks have deliberately driven gold and silver prices lower at the close of 2024 to “paint the charts” and influence the yearly closing prices.

This tactic seems plausible, given the solid gains gold and silver posted throughout the year—26% and 21%, respectively. With the new year underway, the stage is set for the gold and silver bull market to regain momentum and potentially exceed last year’s performance.

Although silver broke below its uptrend line on December 18th, it appears to have formed a double bottom and rebounded off the downtrend line that began in May.

To confirm that the sell-off is truly over and silver’s rally is ready to resume, I would like to see it close back above the uptrend line, effectively negating the December 18th breakdown. Following that, a convincing close above the $32–$33 resistance zone—an area that has posed a significant challenge for the past seven months—would strengthen the bullish case.

If silver can sustain a close above this key level, it should pave the way for a rally to $35, $40, and ultimately higher.

While silver has remained stagnant since late October, there’s reason to believe this is merely another consolidation phase, similar to those seen a year ago and during the past summer.

If history repeats itself, and a breakout occurs, silver could be poised for another strong rally, just as it did following the previous consolidation periods.

I closely monitor gold, as it, along with copper, plays a significant role in influencing silver prices.

Currently, COMEX gold futures are trading within a range of $2,550 to $2,800. To confirm that gold’s bull market has resumed, a decisive, high-volume close above both the triangle pattern and the $2,800 resistance level is necessary.

Such a breakout would likely propel gold to $3,000 and beyond in short order, which would prove very beneficial for silver as well.

In addition to gold, I closely monitor the price of copper, as it significantly influences silver’s performance.

For silver to gain meaningful bullish momentum, a strong rally in copper is likely necessary. Currently, copper is hovering near its key $4 support level, and a rebound from this point would be a positive signal. If copper can successfully rally, the next critical test will be the $5–$5.20 resistance zone.

A decisive close above this range should ignite a powerful copper bull market, which would likely have a favorable impact on silver prices.

I’ve developed an indicator to help confirm price movements in silver, called the Synthetic Silver Price Index (SSPI).

This index combines the average prices of copper and gold, with copper adjusted by a factor of 540 to prevent gold from disproportionately influencing the index. The SSPI closely mirrors silver’s price movement, even though silver itself is not an input.

The encouraging news is that the SSPI has just bounced off its uptrend line, signaling underlying strength. The next key step is for the index to achieve a decisive close above the 2,600–2,640 resistance zone, which would provide a strong bullish signal for silver.

Though silver investor sentiment is currently quite negative, it’s important to step back and focus on the bigger picture, which remains very positive.

The 200-day moving average of silver prices, which smooths out short-term volatility, is at its highest level since 2013.

Trends in motion tend to persist, suggesting that this underlying strength is likely to carry into 2025 and beyond.

Silver is still on track to break out of its multi-decade cup-and-handle pattern, paving the way for it to reach several hundred dollars per ounce:

As silver gains momentum, I anticipate silver miners will thrive, despite their recent struggles. This lag is likely due to silver’s long-term bull market still being in its early stages.

It will take some time for investors to recognize how undervalued silver mining stocks truly are—but when they do, these stocks are poised to soar.

Although silver stagnated at the end of 2024, the new year brings plenty of reasons for optimism. Most investors are currently underestimating silver, overlooking its strong overall performance over the past year and dismissing the fact that its bull market is just beginning, with significant potential ahead.

Now is the time to remain confident and focus on the opportunity that lies ahead.

Personally, I am highly optimistic about silver’s prospects, and the widespread negativity surrounding it only strengthens my conviction from a contrarian perspective—after all, the crowd is typically wrong.

“Harris voters are now decoding her posts as proof that she has a top-secret plot to stop Trump and reclaim the presidency,” @EndWokeness wrote, including a video of a leftist woman spreading the conspiracy theory in the post.

Other conservatives on Twitter also suggested that people who claim that Trump “staging” the first assassination attempt on his life and “cheating” in the 2024 election with the help of Elon Musk, Russia and the Republican Party was enough to prevent the certification of the 2024 election are “nuts.”

“These liberals clinging onto Kamala saying she’s posting all these coded clues and is still going to become president have got to be some of the dumbest, most delusional low IQ cretins I’ve ever seen in my life,” @Th3RedX wrote.

Some people asked a rhetorical question of whether the leftists would admit that Trump was elected president after Harris herself certified the election, and others stated that Democrats would rather continue saying that “Kamala is waiting in the wings.”

However, Harris disappointed leftists after declaring that she would certify the election.

“Today, I will perform my constitutional duty as Vice President to certify the results of the 2024 election. This duty is a sacred obligation — one I will uphold guided by the love of country, loyalty to our Constitution and unwavering faith in the American people,” she wrote.

Many conservatives in the comments section criticized Harris, stating that she was one of the reasons why the overwhelming majority of people voted for Trump in this election.

“I just wanted to say that it was the greatest honor of my life helping to defeat you & deliver Pennsylvania for President Donald Trump. If you cared an iota for the American people, you would have used your power & influence to secure the border. You deserved to lose,” Scott Presler of Early Vote Action wrote.

Harris certified the election and declared that Trump would become the next president of the United States. After certifying that she lost the election, Trump received a standing ovation from the politicians in Washington, D.C.

Greenland’s PM Wants Independence as Trump Suggests Buying Island

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) In his New Year’s Day speech, Greenland Prime Minister Múte Egede announced that he wants the island to become independent from Denmark, reminding people about President-elect Donald Trump’s recent proposition to buy Greenland.

“The Greenlandic people’s opportunity for independence has been adopted through the provisions of the Self-Government Act, thereby creating a legal basis for how independence can be achieved,” Egede stated on the government’s website, as the Daily Wire translated.

He then stated that Denmark didn’t treat Greenland very well, claiming that the island was stuck in the “colonial era” and that it was time to “move on.”

“A draft constitution for our country has also been prepared,” he said. “Work has already begun with regard to creating the framework for Greenland as an independent state within the possibilities and provisions of the Self-Government Act.”

Trump previously suggested that the United States should buy Greenland because of national security reasons.

“For purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity,” Trump said last month.

Former Trump National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien also appeared on Fox News at the end of last month, agreeing with Trump about Greenland and stating that it “is going to be the critical battleground of the future” since the “Russians and Chinese are all over the Arctic.”

“Now the Kingdom of Denmark owns Greenland, and they’ve got an obligation to defend Greenland,” he said. “And so President Trump said, ‘If you don’t defend Greenland, we’ll buy it and we’ll defend it, but we’re not going to defend it for free and let you not develop Greenland and not extract the minerals and oil and resources of Greenland, and while we defend it, Denmark gets rich, and the Kingdom of Denmark becomes even wealthier.’”

O’Brien also noted that if the U.S. buys Greenland, Trump would make it a part of Alaska.

“I mean, the native people in Greenland are very closely related to the people of Alaska, and we’ll make it a part of Alaska,” he said.

Caravan Rushes to Beat Trump’s Inauguration Day Border Crackdown

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A newly formed caravan of would-be illegal aliens is scrambling to beat the clock, making their way to the U.S. before President-elect Donald Trump is sworn in and closes the southern border once and for all. 

The 2,000-member caravan is the first of 2025 and was on the move in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas, according to news outlet Border Report and NewsNation.

Television footage aired by Mexican news channels allegedly showed hundreds of individuals walking with blisters on their feet accompanied by children.

“It is at least the 10th large group setting out to the U.S. border since October, with more expected to hit the road before President-elect Trump takes office later this month,” Border Report noted Friday. 

The outlet reported that another caravan may make its way to Juarez in the upcoming days, just across from El Paso, Texas. 

Rev. Francisco Gonzalez, who reportedly runs 11 shelters in northern Mexico, said that over 2,000 would-be illegal aliens in Durango plan to march toward the U.S. soon. 

“People at our shelters in Laguna and Gomez Palacio are expressing their intent to proceed to Piedras Negras, Nuevo Laredo and Ciudad Juarez,” Gonzalez said Friday, according to Border Report.  

Gonzalez affirmed that the shelter network in Juarez is “making preparations” for the individuals trying to enter the U.S. before Jan. 20, 2025. 

The apparent rush to cross the U.S. southern border follows Trump’s landslide election in November 2024, where he vowed to implement one of the largest and most aggressive deportation operations in U.S. history. 

Republicans argue that such a drastic measure is necessary, given the unprecedented influx of illegal aliens under Biden’s open border policies. 

Trump’s threats have triggered fiery responses from Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, who opposed mass deportations. 

Similarly, Honduran President Xiomara Castro has threatened to expel U.S. troops from her country if Trump follows through on sending citizens back to Honduras.

Hunter Biden Whistleblower Reveals How Trump Can Overhaul IRS, DOJ

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The IRS whistleblower who exposed the Biden administration’s blatant favoritism and protectionism in shielding Hunter Biden from accountability declared that the DOJ needs to be “completely revamped” to get rid of political bias. 

IRS supervisory special agent Gary Shapley gained national attention in 2023 after coming forward with explosive revelations regarding the failure of federal prosecutors and the IRS to aggressively go after Hunter’s alleged criminal acts. 

In a Monday interview with the Daily Caller, Shapley said that the DOJ is plagued with radical leftists: “The DOJ so heavily leans liberal, Democrat, that it needs to be just completely revamped from the top.” He also declared rank-and-file employees as “not objective.” 

Shapley did not hold back in his criticism of the IRS, which allegedly restricted him from probing deeper into Hunter’s finances and let the statute of limitations expire in some serious offenses.

“If the American people think that the most knowledgeable, most experienced and most successful, high performing people at my agency are senior leaders, then they’re sorely mistaken,” Shapley told the Caller. 

Shapley suggested that if he had the authority to reform the IRS, he would promote individuals “based on merit and performance” instead of relying on what he described as a “bureaucratic” system. 

Following his whistleblowing, Shapley and fellow IRS special agent Joe Ziegler faced a media campaign launched by Hunter’s attorney Abbe Lowell, to discredit them by accusing them of committing federal crimes after they spoke with lawmakers about what they viewed as rampant corruption within the IRS and the DOJ. 

In response, Shapley and Ziegler filed a $20 million defamation lawsuit against Lowell in September. 

“Lowell viciously attacked our integrity and our reputations to try to protect Hunter Biden, who has now admitted his guilt to the crimes we believed were being covered up,” the whistleblowers stated in remarks to The Center Square.  

They added, “Our opposition to his Motion to Dismiss explains that he apparently became frustrated that the DOJ did not believe his allegations about us, so he took his libelous statements straight to the media.” 

Shapley and Ziegler are represented by the government watchdog Empower Oversight, which has raised over $60,000 for a legal fund.

GOP Senator’s Husband Goes Viral After Declining Kamala’s Handshake

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The husband of GOP Sen. Deb Fischer, R-Neb., went viral on Monday after he declined to shake hands with Vice President Kamala Harris during his wife’s swearing-in ceremony on Friday. 

Bruce Fischer, the senator’s husband, was captured politely refusing Harris’s handshake in a viral video, saying, “Thank you” and giving a slight head nod after the ceremony. 

Moments before declining the handshake, Bruce appeared hesitant to get close to Harris, prompting his wife’s intervention. The senator instructed her husband to stand next to Harris, the outgoing and unpopular vice president. 

“It’s okay, I won’t bite you. I’m not going to bite, don’t worry,” Harris jokingly told Bruce as he maintained a serious face while avoiding eye contact. 

After swearing in Deb Fischer, Harris shook her hand, with both women seemingly expressing gratitude for each other’s public service. The vice president then turned to Bruce, raising her hands in an invitation to shake hands, but he did not reciprocate. 

Photos later revealed that Bruce was holding a cane with one hand and the Bible with another, making it impossible for him to shake Harris’s hand.

 

While the interaction occurred on Friday, it gained significant attention on social media on Monday. Conservative commentators praised Bruce for apparently taking a stand against Harris, who has previously chastised Republicans as Nazi and fascist sympathizers. 

In September, Fischer’s Senate independent challenger, Dan Osborn, reportedly accused her staff of being “Hitler Youth frat boys” during a call with Democratic donors. Osborn ultimately lost the Senate race to Fischer, leading to the incident on Friday. 

Democrats and leftist personalities criticized Bruce for snubbing Harris, claiming that he should have maintained decorum while attending the Senate ceremony. 

In contrast, these were the same leftists who previously praised then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for tearing up President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech in 2020. 

“The level of class you can expect from MAGA,” wrote leftist podcast host Tyler Cohen, one of the first to share the interaction on X, ignoring that Bruce was holding a cane.

When Pelosi broke decorum by ripping Trump’s speech on Feb. 4, 2020, Cohen wrote, “Fantastic.”

5 Major Cases that SCOTUS Is Due to Decide in Its Upcoming Spring Session

(, The Center Square) The U.S. Supreme Court has released a string of landmark rulings recently, from sending the abortion issue back to the states to granting a measure of presidential immunity to the overturning of Chevron deference, significantly weakening federal rulemaking power.

Supreme Court terms begin and end in October, and heading into the new year there are major cases awaiting. Here are five of the biggest cases in which the Supreme Court is expected to weigh in by the end of this term:

TikTok Ban

Many lawmakers and national security experts have raised concerns about the invasive software attached to TikTok, a hugely popular entertainment app that reportedly has about 150 million active users.

China is the parent company for the app and has access to millions of Americans’ personal data through the TikTok software, which is unusually invasive and collects much more personal data on its users than other similar apps.

President Joe Biden signed into law a ban on the app unless it is sold to a U.S. company, citing these concerns.

While that ban had bipartisan support, President-elect Donald Trump weighed in on the case this week, asking the Supreme Court to delay the ban from going into effect.

“In light of these interests—including, most importantly, his overarching responsibility for the United States’ national security and foreign policy—President Trump opposes banning TikTok in the United States at this juncture, and seeks the ability to resolve the issues at hand through political means once he takes office,” Trump’s lawyer said in a brief filed with the court.

During the presidential campaign, Trump promised to “save Tik Tok.”

“Furthermore, President Trump alone possesses the consummate dealmaking expertise, the electoral mandate, and the political will to negotiate a resolution to save the platform while addressing the national security concerns expressed by the Government—concerns which President Trump himself has acknowledged,” the brief read.

Transgender Surgeries for Minors

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments last fall in United States v. Skrmetti, a case that considers the constitutionality of a Tennessee bill that bans transgender surgeries and hormones for minors.

Those medical procedures have become increasingly controversial since they can sterilize the recipients and are sometimes later regretted when the children come of age.

The Supreme Court ruling could kill or encourage similar efforts in states around the country.

Ghost Guns

In Garland v. VanDerStok, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives faces a legal challenge to its Biden-era rule attempting to block “ghost guns,” firearms without serial numbers that can be 3-D printed or put together by someone who acquires individual parts.

In particular, kits can be bought online that allow buyers to assemble a weapon. The case in question will require the justices to determine whether a disassembled kit of firearm parts is still considered a “firearm” and therefore subject to federal rules, especially rules requiring a serial number.

During oral arguments last fall, justices seemed skeptical of the legal challenge to the federal rule.

Age Verification for Pornography

The Supreme Court is expected to hear oral arguments Jan. 15 in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton, a legal challenge to a Texas law requiring pornography sites to use age verification to prevent minors from seeing their pornographic content.

Critics have cited free speech concerns while proponents of the law have pointed out that there is legal precedent for age verification—which is required for other products like alcohol and tobacco, and has been required to view R-rated movies in theaters.

Pornography sites have pushed back on the law, which has been adopted in a similar fashion in about 20 Republican states around the country.

“Let me put this simply: these companies do not have a right to expose children to pornography,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said in a statement. “Texas has a clear interest in protecting children, and we have been successful defending this commonsense age verification law against a powerful global industry.”

Environmental Impact

The Supreme Court in December heard oral arguments in Seven County Infrastructure Coalition v. Eagle County, a case where justices will consider just how expansive the environmental constraints can become on federal agency actions.

Under the National Environmental Policy Act, federal agencies are required to assess the “foreseeable impact” on the environment of their actions.

However, just how broad that assessment must be is up for consideration.

(Matthew Doarnberger, Headline USA) Following a merger that saw their company go public, online firearm retailer GrabAGun named Donald Trump Jr. as investor and advisor.

GrabAGun announced Monday that they would be merging with Colombier Acquisition Corp II in order to enable the stock to be publicly traded. The value of the company is now estimated to be $150 million.

Right after the merger took place, it was announced that Trump would become a “newly appointed advisor” to the company and would also be an investor.

Trump then took the opportunity to say why uniting with the firearm retailer was so important to him.

“It’s truly important to me to only support and invest in companies that actually share my pro-American values, which is exactly why I’m so excited to announce our partnership with GrabAGun,” he said.

The soon-to-be president’s son then highlighted why he thought this kind of business is so vital to the culture of the country moving forward.

“In an age where our right to bear arms is under constant attack from anti-gun politicians and woke corporations, GrabAGun has developed a powerful, scalable platform that offers unmatched selection and services to Americans who wish to legally buy and own a firearm,” he continued.

Colombier Acquisition Corp II is led by entrepreneur and investor Omeed Malik.

He talked about why he and Trump have been teaming up in order to capitalize on opportunities neglected by left wing investors who have limited themselves to only putting their money into environmental, society and governance opportunities.

“We are looking to invest in great businesses that aren’t impaired by ESG mandates,” Malik said.

A company spokesman told the New York Post that GrabAGun made over $100 million last year.

Much of their customer base is among the millennial and generation Z crowd. Firearm purchases among 18–35-year-olds have increased 57% since 2014.

(Headline USA) LGBT liberals are reportedly buying firearms over fears they’ll be rounded up and placed in “concentration camps” under the incoming Trump administration, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The new gun-toting groups, including the Liberal Gun Club, the Socialist Rifle Association, and Pink Pistols, claimed they’ve received “thousands” of firearm training requests since Trump won the 2024 election.

“Three months before the election, that’s when the alarm bells started to ring,” a 24-year-old transgender activist told the outlet, adding that armed leftists will now be able to fight back “in the event of hate crimes or terrorist attacks.”

The activist added minorities should also take their Second Amendment rights seriously, since “minorities that are armed are more difficult to legally oppress.”

Left-winger Matthew Thompson said he purchased his first gun in 2016 after Trump was elected the first time, though he claimed he was inspired more by the mass shooting at the Pulse gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. 

“The people I’ve been seeing on the Left and the gay people who are out purchasing guns for the first time, it’s all about self-defense and fear,” he claimed. “We’re not looking to arm up and storm the [U.S. Capitol]. We just don’t want to be put in concentration camps.”

Trump has not once suggested he is anti-LGBT. In fact, Trump became the first Republican nominee to mention LGBT issues during his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention in 2016, shortly after the Pulse nightclub shooting.

“Thank you to the LGBT community! I will fight for you,” Trump said at the time.

LGBT leftists aren’t the only ones with deranged fantasies about being rounded up by Trump’s fantasies. Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Mich., also bizarrely claimed last year that she might end up a prisoner in one of Trump’s alleged “internment camps.”

“I get worried enough when he talks about what he’s going to do to his political enemies, but he has talked about them in this with different groups of people,” she said.

Trump Slams Washington Post for Made-Up Story on ‘Pared Back’ Tariffs

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) President-elect Donald Trump slammed the Washington Post on Monday for running what he called a “Fake News” story on “pared back” tariffs.

Trump took aim at Washington Post economics reporter Jeff Stein’s article titled “Trump aides ready ‘universal’ tariff plans—with one key change,” which claims the president-elects tariffs “would be applied to every country but only cover critical imports.”

“The story in The Washington Post, quoting so-called anonymous sources, which don’t exist, incorrectly states that my tariff policy will be pared back. That is wrong. The Washington Post knows it’s wrong. It’s just another example of Fake News,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Senior advisor Steven Cheung took to X to call out The Washington Post, writing, “FAKE NEWS! This ‘story’ solely relies on anonymous sources who don’t know what the fuck they’re talking about.”

The Washington Post article cited “three people familiar with the matter” rather than being transparent by naming each source.

“The people spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe private conversations,” Stein wrote in his piece.

Since winning a second term, Trump has warned countries including Canada, Mexico and China of incoming tariffs if they refuse to comply with U.S. demands on the border and the economy.

The Washington Post article claimed that “rather than apply tariffs to all imports, the current discussions center on imposing them only on certain sectors deemed critical to national or economic security.” The author wrote that Trump’s initial tariff plans “could prove politically unpopular and disruptive.

The article was updated soon after Trump posted his response, and the Washington Post added, “Trump criticized The Washington Post’s reporting in a post on his Truth Social site and said his tariff policy would not be pared back.”

The Washington Post wrote that before Trump published his Truth Social post, “the transition team declined to comment on internal planning.”

The outlet added, “Multiple people familiar with the discussions cautioned that Trump can change his mind quickly and that the tariff policies are not yet set.”
