House GOP Investigates Failures Leading to 200,000 Deportation Case Dismissals

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) – U.S. House Republicans are demanding answers from Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas as to why more than 200,000 deportation cases were dismissed.

A new report published by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University found that 200,000 deportation cases were dismissed because DHS employees or Border Patrol agents didn’t file the proper paperwork with the courts in time for scheduled hearings.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement Subcommittee Chairman Tom McClintock, R-California, launched an investigation this week. They sent letters to Mayorkas and to Mary Cheng, acting director of the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), demanding information.

TRAC researchers evaluated data from January 2021 through February 2024 to determine the number of cases that were dismissed due to Notice to Appear documents not being filed with courts. One of the policies implemented by Mayorkas for which he was impeached relates to changing the detention and removal process. This included mass releasing illegal foreign nationals into the country who were given NTAs and told to appear before an immigration court at a date several years into the future.

By law, DHS is required to file NTAs with the court listed on them. Once filed, removal proceedings officially begin. If NTAs aren’t filed, the removal process doesn’t begin. If a hearing is scheduled before an NTA is filed, the case is thrown out and a new NTA must be filed. According to the report, of the data evaluated, NTAs were only refiled in 25% of the dismissed cases.

TRAC researchers said “the almost total lack of transparency on where and why these DHS failures occurred” is “troubling.”

They also said they weren’t able to obtain information “on just which agency created and issued these NTAs. While we suspect that most are created by Border Patrol agents, and thus should be filed with the court by Customs and Border Protection, we don’t know if the problem is concentrated there, and if so, which sectors and specific locations are most responsible.”

The greatest number of dismissals were in Houston, Miami, Los Angeles and El Paso, according to the data.

NTAs are filed with immigration courts by CBP Office of Field Operations agents and DHS’ Immigration and Customs Enforcement and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services agents. “No information to our knowledge has been publicly released by DHS on why and where these problems occur,” TRAC said.

House Republicans aim to find out.

In their letter to Mayorkas, Jordan and McClintock highlight data from the TRAC report and expressed concern “with DHS’s inaction, which exacerbates the nation’s already backlogged immigration courts and creates additional chaos in the Biden Administration’s immigration crisis.”

They also pointed out that the roughly 200,000 deportation case dismissals due to DHS not filing NTAs were significantly greater than the more than 15,500 DHS “failure to prosecute” cases reported between fiscal 2017 and 2020.

They requested that Mayorkas provide documents and information from Jan. 20, 2021, to the present related to the number of cases EOIR dismissed for DHS’s failure to prosecute; the number of cases described in question 1 for which DHS eventually filed an NTA; and all DHS reports on cases dismissed for failure to prosecute.”

In their letter to Cheng, they highlighted the same data and expressed similar concerns. They requested her to provide the number of cases EOIR dismissed for DHS’s failure to prosecute; the number of cases described in question 1 for which DHS eventually filed an NTA; and all EOIR’s Cognos failure to prosecute reports.

They gave a deadline for the requested material to be provided by April 17.

MSNBC in Panic Mode Over Rumored Trump AG Pick: ‘Be Alarmed’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) MSNBC is already laying the groundwork for attacks against former President Donald Trump’s rumored pick for attorney general in a potential second White House term. 

This time, the outlet, known for its anti-Trump conspiratorial coverage, criticized Kash Patel, a conservative attorney and rumored favorite for the top law enforcement position in the U.S. 

During Thursday’s broadcast of her eponymous show with a backdrop photo of Trump that read “Be Alarmed,” host Alex Wagner responded to a Vanity Fair report that explored rumored candidates for cabinet positions. Among the names mentioned was Patel’s. 

“There is a lot in the piece that is alarming,” Wagner remarked, referring to Vanity Fair’s report.  

“What jumped out as potentially the most alarming detail was that… the person whose name is being floated to be Trump’s attorney general of the United States to run the justice department is this guy,” she added before featuring a video of Patel’s remarks against the left-wing media.

The video shared by Wagner showed Patel during an interview with Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast, where he offered some advice on dealing with left-wing commentators who peddle lies on behalf of Democrats in the media. 

In the clip, Patel exclaimed: “We will go out and find the conspirators, not just in government but in the media, yes, we’re going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections. We’re going to come after you, criminally, civilly, we’ll figure that out. We’re putting you on notice.”

In response, Wagner claimed that the dangers of Trump weaponizing the DOJ against his opponents—similar to what Republicans say Biden is doing—is “very real.”

To Wagner’s relief, she asserted that the Biden administration is “taking action,” citing President Joe Biden’s new rule against firing government bureaucrats. Wagner hailed the plan — which means that an incumbent president is preemptively blocking his successor’s agenda — as an effort to “Trump-proof the White House.”

Further elaborating on such a significant rule, Wagner reported: “The rule strengthens job protections for federal workers so Trump can’t just clean house and replace everyone in the executive branch with MAGA hat-wearing Trump supporters.” 

She continued: “Trump can still try to go after his enemies and he could still try to install someone like Kash Patel as the attorney general to do so, but that attorney general would have a much harder time going full banana republic if the people actually carrying out the work under him were career government workers and not political stooges. So that’s the good news. That’s a small silver lining, here. There are still adults in the room in the Biden White House and they are Trump-proofing it in case Trump gets back in office.”

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton finds herself under fire yet again, as anti-Israeli hecklers confronted her at two separate events within days of each other.

As Hillary Clinton exited the Music Box Theater in New York City, protesters hurled scathing remarks at her, criticizing her support for Israel’s military operations against Hamas, a designated terrorist organization. 

“Hillary Clinton, Hi! Has anyone told you, you are the super predator? Has anyone told you, you are the super predator,” an unidentified man shouted as Clinton exited the theater accompanied by Secret Service. 

“You’re responsible for the deaths of millions!” the man added, as seen in a video shared by journalist Talia Jane on Twitter.

In another video, a woman was heard shouting similar attacks, accusing Clinton of being “responsible for genocides.” Escalating her tirade, the protester added: “You’re responsible for atrocities. You’re literary helping f**king faciliate the genocide of Palestinian people! What the f**k do you have to say for yourself.” 

Unbothered by the hecklers, Hillary Clinton smiled at bystanders and continued to enter the Secret Service’s vehicles. 

Even former President Bill Clinton, who also accompanied Hillary Clinton, was not spared from the verbal assaults, with a man shouting: “Bill Clinton, you’re a genocide supporter! F**k you, you piece of sh*t.” 

Notably, Bill Clinton’s infamous appearance on Wednesday at a $25 million fundraiser for his pal, President Joe Biden, was also disrupted by anti-Israeli hecklers. 

To the detriment of the Clinton duo, the Saturday heckling was not an isolated incident.  

Hillary Clinton faced fired-up hecklers again during a Saturday event at her alma mater, Wellesley College in Massachusetts.

According to the New York Times, as Hillary Clinton participated in a panel discussion related to the inaugural of a research and study center bearing her name, a woman stood up and accused the high-profile Democrat of ignoring Palestinians currently facing conflict between Israel and Hamas. 

In response, Hillary Clinton pushed back, stating, “We’re having a discussion. I’m perfectly happy to meet you after this event and talk with you.” The woman was ultimately removed from the room, the Times reported. Video of the incident has not emerged on social media.

The heckling comes as Democrats, including Biden, face scorching criticism and electoral protests for their initial staunch support of Israel following Hamas’s brutal invasion on Oct. 7.

Such a high figure marks the highest fundraising record in history for any political candidate, the RNC declared in a press release published Saturday evening.

The achievement of $50 million comes after President Joe Biden, with the assistance of former presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, raised over $25 million in a lavish event filled with celebrities in New York City.

Donald Trump hailed the $50.5 million fundraiser in a statement published on Truth Social, calling it the “Biggest night in Fund Raising of ALL TIME!!!”

Trump campaign senior advisors Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles echoed the former president’s remarks in a statement.

“Tonight will be an incredible night for President Trump and the Republican Party, raising an astounding $50.5 million,” they said. “It’s clearer than ever that we have the message, the operation, and the money to propel President Trump to victory on November 5.”

The fundraiser, titled “Inaugural Leadership Dinner,” featured Republican donors and was led by hedge-fund manager John Paulson, according to Axios. 

Among those in attendance were former First Lady Melania Trump and former Republican candidates Sen. Tim Scott, Vivek Ramaswamy and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum. 

RNC Chairman Michael Whatley and Co-Chair Lara Trump (who recently assumed the position at the RNC after Ronna McDaniel’s resignation) praised the historic feat in a Saturday evening statement. 

“The success of tonight’s event is proving what we already know: Americans are fed up with Biden’s record of failure, from the open southern border and sky-high inflation to the migrant crime crisis that has made everyone less safe,” they declared.

In their remarks, Whatley and Lara Trump emphasized that the Republican Party is rallying behind Donald Trump’s election bid ahead of the 2024 general election. 

 “Americans are lining up to join our movement and retire Crooked Joe Biden once and for all,” they continued.

Texas AG Paxton Exposes Biden’s Covert Plot Amid Border Chaos: ‘Not An Accident’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA)  Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton unveiled on Friday what he suggested to be President Joe Biden’s efforts to conceal the border chaos amid concerns he might lose his 2024 due to widespread criticism of illegal immigration.

Speaking on Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt Tonight, Paxton implied that the deployment of Mexican armed forces to their side of the border and the Border Patrol’s halt of cutting Texas-led razor wire are part of Biden’s strategy to salvage his faltering re-election bid. 

“We all know what’s going on—there’s a deal,” Paxton told Newsmax anchor Rob Schmitt, according to an interview transcript. “Otherwise, the Mexican government would not be doing this.” 

Earlier this week, the Mexican government directed hundreds of law enforcement officials to block a caravan headed for the U.S. with at least 2,000 potential illegal immigrants. Paxton said that the sudden involvement of the Mexican government in attempting to secure the southern border is not “an accident,” but rather a calculated move to aid Biden. 

“This doesn’t happen randomly since we’ve been dealing with this for what, 3 1/2 years? And suddenly the Mexican government is stopping people from getting to our border,” Paxton remarked, alluding to the Mexican deployment.

He further added: “That’s not an accident, and that’s designed to help Joe Biden pull the election out because that is his worst issue, according to polling.” 

Addressing the highly publicized clash between the federal government and Texas, Paxton asserted that the Biden administration has abruptly ceased dismantling razor wire and border fences erected by the Texas National Guard to impede illegal entry into the U.S. 

“We lost our injunction on the wire cuttings, so [federal agents] have the ability to cut down our wire, our fences… and we’re still in litigation over that. But they have never done it,” Paxton told Newsmax. “So even though they have the ability to do it since that ruling, you know, a little over a month ago, there’s been no cutting of our fences. We continue to put them up.” 

He elaborated further, adding: “So I would not be surprised as the election comes and his numbers have been affected negatively, I say … Joe Biden … would want that issue to go away at least until the election,” Paxton added. “And then if he pulls off an election, bring it right back.” 

Paxton’s assertions come as Biden faces bipartisan criticism for a rampant influx of illegal aliens entering the U.S. Some of these individuals have been implicated in high-profile crimes, including the tragic death of beloved Georgia nursing student Laken Riley. Riley was brutally murdered by an illegal alien from Venezuela in a randomized attack, prosecutors revealed. 

According to a poll published by the Wall Street Journal in February, immigration ranks among the top concerns for Americans. A staggering 65 percent of voters said that they disapprove of how Biden is managing the border. Even more concerning, the newspaper found that 71 percent of Americans believe immigration and border security are headed in the wrong direction.

DOJ Attempts to Relocate ‘Wrongful Death’ Lawsuit for Ashli Babbitt to D.C. Swamp

Judicial Watch asked a federal court to deny the request, saying it would prejudice the case and be unjust for Babbitt’s family if it were transferred to the Swamp. 

On Jan. 5, 2024, Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California on behalf of the family of Babbitt, the U.S. Air Force veteran who was shot and killed inside the U.S. Capitol by then-Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd on Jan. 6, 2021.

Judicial Watch filed its opposition to the Department of Justice’s request to transfer the venue of the case to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, pointing out that under federal law a “civil action against the United States may be brought in any judicial district in which the plaintiff resides” and “a civil action on a tort claim against the United States may be prosecuted in the judicial district where the plaintiff resides.”

“The request for a change in venue is clearly influenced by the Defendant’s strongest motivation… to select the forum where it feels it would receive a favorable process and outcome based on adversity against January 6 participants,” Judicial Watch said.

The organization added that the DOJ wants to twist the reality and present Babbitt as a criminal.

“By its motion, the Defendant hopes to unfairly and unjustly connect Ashli Babbitt to violence, injuries and deaths for which she is blameless and connect her by association to thousands of individuals convicted of misdemeanors and felonies for which she was never charged and is unable to present a defense due to the lawless actions of one of Defendant’s employees in shooting and killing her,” Judicial Watch said.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said the same thing on Twitter.

“Let’s be blunt, the Biden DOJ wants to move the Ashli Babbitt wrongful death lawsuit to DC because it knows the courts here are notoriously hostile to anyone tied to the January 6 protests,” Fitton said.

Melania is set to hold her first major political event of the year — a fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans — on Apr. 20, 2024, at Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach, Fla., club, according to an invitation that was obtained by Politico.

She has long maintained a close relationship with the Log Cabin Republicans, which describes itself as “the nation’s largest Republican organization dedicated to representing LGBT conservatives and allies,” according to the organization’s website.

Melania was the special guest at a dinner the organization hosted at Mar-a-Lago in 2021, where she was given an award.

“As I look around the room, the word ‘courage’ comes to mind. It is the courageous spirit within each of you that has brought us together this evening and it is the courageous spirit of Abraham Lincoln, which gives us our guiding light today,” she said after accepting the award.

In addition to that, her husband spoke at an event the organization hosted at the club in 2022.

The upcoming April event is the launch of the organization’s “Road to Victory” program, which plans to target voters in swing states, Politico reported.

When a reporter asked Melania last month when she would return to the campaign trail, she said people should “stay tuned.” Melania made the remarks while attending a wake for a slain New York City police officer with her husband.

Republican donors Saul Fox, Amanda Schumacher, Bill White, Bryan Eure and Richard Grenell, who had served as Trump’s ambassador to Germany and acting director of national intelligence, will be on the host committee for the event.

Elizabeth Ailes, a former NBC News executive and the widow of the late Fox News chief executive officer Roger Ailes, and Deborah Magowan, the widow of the late San Francisco Giants owner Peter Magowan, will also be on the committee.

Cancer-Causing Forever Chemicals Found in Band-Aids

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) It was revealed that bandages from some of the most well-reputed brands, including Band-Aid and Curad, contain dangerous levels of forever chemicals.

A leading watchdog found the chemical fluorine in over two dozen different bandages that can be found in millions of medicine cabinets across the United States, the Daily Mail reported.

PFAS chemicals are sometimes used to make adhesives, with the investigators believing they are products of the normal manufacturing process.

The news source added that fluorine, a chemical that is used to make rocket fuel, can lead to skin burns and eye damage, but it is most dangerous when inhaled.

Dr. Linda Birnbaum, a toxicologist and former head of the National Toxicology Program who co-led the lab testing, expressed her concerns regarding the risky chemicals coming in direct contact with open wounds.

“Because bandages are placed upon open wounds, it’s troubling to learn that they may be also exposing children and adults to PFAS. It’s obvious from the data that PFAS are not needed for wound care, so it’s important that the industry remove their presence to protect the public from PFAS and opt instead for PFAS-free materials,” she said.

The Mail reported that PFAS chemicals can easily enter the bloodstream after a person drinks water or eats food laced with the chemicals. Once they get in the bloodstream, PFAS can lodge themselves within healthy tissue and damage the immune system, the liver, the kidneys and other organs.

Environmental health watchdogs looked at 40 bandages from 18 different brands and tested them for fluorine. Detectable levels were found in 26 of the bandages.

An EPA-certified lab was used by the consumer watchdog blog Mamavation and Environmental Health News to look for PFAS chemicals in the absorbent pads and adhesive flaps of bandages sold at major retailers, such as CVS, Walmart, Rite Aid, Target and Amazon.

Band-Aid, Care Science, Curad, CVS Health, Equate, First Honey, Rite Aid brand, Amazon’s brand, Solimo, and Target’s brand, Up & Up, were among the brands that had their bandages containing high levels of fluorine above 100 parts per million.

“If it’s Trump, it doesn’t matter how much I work or want to work. They won’t let me in,” Richard Betancourt, 46, said while he and hundreds of other illegals were waiting to cross the border at a makeshift encampment in Matamoros, Mexico, the Free Press reported.

Another illegal, 26-year-old Alejandra Falcon, who has spent the past eight months traveling to the border from Caracas, Venezuela, also expressed his desire for Biden to win.

“[If Biden] doesn’t win, I can’t imagine what will happen,” Falcon said.

While Trump was in office, he tried to tackle illegal immigration by cutting down on the number of refugees getting green cards and visas and attempted to build a wall across the southern border, the New York Post reported.

However, soon after he left the office, illegal border crossings surged and reached an all-time high of 2.2 million back in 2022.

Since Biden stepped into the Oval Office, nearly 7.3 million illegals have now crossed the southwest border into the U.S., a figure greater than the population of 36 individual states, the news source reported.

On his campaign trail, Trump has hit out at Biden for what he calls a “border bloodbath,” as illegals in major cities continue to commit crimes.

The strategy of telling the truth has seemed to pay off, with nearly seven in 10 voters saying they disapprove of Biden’s handling of the border, according to an AP-NORC poll that was released on March 29, 2024.

In addition to that, a growing number of voters also expressed concerns about the number of illegals committing crimes in the country.

UCLA Med. School Students Forced to Pray for ‘Mama Earth’ During Required Lecture

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) First-year medical students at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) were forced to take a course on “structural racism,” during which a guest speaker demanded that students must bow down to “mama earth.”

Lisa “Tiny” Gray-Garcia, also has a history of praising Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, according to students in the class and audio obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

Gray-Garcia, who has referred to last year’s terrorist attacks as “justice,” began the March 27, 2024, class by leading students in a “non-secular prayer” to “the ancestors,” instructing everyone to get on their knees and touch the floor, “mama earth,” with their fists.

After at least half of the assembled students complied, Gray-Garcia proceeded to thank American Indian tribes for preserving “what the settlers call L.A.,” and remind students of the city’s “herstory,” the obtained audio revealed.

The far-left “prayer” also included a benediction for “black,” “brown” and “houseless people” who die because of the “crapatalist lie” of “private property.”

“Mama earth was never meant to be bought, sold, pimped or played,” Gray-Garcia said.

Then, a self-described “poverty scholar,” while wearing a keffiyeh (pro-Palestine scarf) that covered her entire face, led the class in chants of “Free, Free Palestine” as faculty and staff looked on in silence.

Gray-Garcia later referred to modern medicine as “white science” and spoke up against the “occupation” of “Turtle Island” — the United States — before asking students to stand for a second prayer, with nearly every student complying.

When one of the students refused to participate, an unidentified UCLA administrator inquired about the student’s identity, implying that the student could be punished for “wrongthink.”

“The net effect was that UCLA staff intimidated first-year medical students into participating in a religious service in derogation of their own personal beliefs,” UCLA’s Jewish Faculty Resilience Group wrote to university chancellor Gene Block on March 31, 2024.
