“If it’s Trump, it doesn’t matter how much I work or want to work. They won’t let me in,” Richard Betancourt, 46, said while he and hundreds of other illegals were waiting to cross the border at a makeshift encampment in Matamoros, Mexico, the Free Press reported.
Another illegal, 26-year-old Alejandra Falcon, who has spent the past eight months traveling to the border from Caracas, Venezuela, also expressed his desire for Biden to win.
“[If Biden] doesn’t win, I can’t imagine what will happen,” Falcon said.
While Trump was in office, he tried to tackle illegal immigration by cutting down on the number of refugees getting green cards and visas and attempted to build a wall across the southern border, the New York Postreported.
However, soon after he left the office, illegal border crossings surged and reached an all-time high of 2.2 million back in 2022.
Since Biden stepped into the Oval Office, nearly 7.3 million illegals have now crossed the southwest border into the U.S., a figure greater than the population of 36 individual states, the news source reported.
On his campaign trail, Trump has hit out at Biden for what he calls a “border bloodbath,” as illegals in major cities continue to commit crimes.
The strategy of telling the truth has seemed to pay off, with nearly seven in 10 voters saying they disapprove of Biden’s handling of the border, according to an AP-NORC poll that was released on March 29, 2024.
In addition to that, a growing number of voters also expressed concerns about the number of illegals committing crimes in the country.
(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) First-year medical students at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) were forced to take a course on “structural racism,” during which a guest speaker demanded that students must bow down to “mama earth.”
Lisa “Tiny” Gray-Garcia, also has a history of praising Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, according to students in the class and audio obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.
Gray-Garcia, who has referred to last year’s terrorist attacks as “justice,” began the March 27, 2024, class by leading students in a “non-secular prayer” to “the ancestors,” instructing everyone to get on their knees and touch the floor, “mama earth,” with their fists.
After at least half of the assembled students complied, Gray-Garcia proceeded to thank American Indian tribes for preserving “what the settlers call L.A.,” and remind students of the city’s “herstory,” the obtained audio revealed.
The far-left “prayer” also included a benediction for “black,” “brown” and “houseless people” who die because of the “crapatalist lie” of “private property.”
“Mama earth was never meant to be bought, sold, pimped or played,” Gray-Garcia said.
Then, a self-described “poverty scholar,” while wearing a keffiyeh (pro-Palestine scarf) that covered her entire face, led the class in chants of “Free, Free Palestine” as faculty and staff looked on in silence.
Gray-Garcia later referred to modern medicine as “white science” and spoke up against the “occupation” of “Turtle Island” — the United States — before asking students to stand for a second prayer, with nearly every student complying.
When one of the students refused to participate, an unidentified UCLA administrator inquired about the student’s identity, implying that the student could be punished for “wrongthink.”
“The net effect was that UCLA staff intimidated first-year medical students into participating in a religious service in derogation of their own personal beliefs,” UCLA’s Jewish Faculty Resilience Group wrote to university chancellor Gene Block on March 31, 2024.
(Headline USA) With illegal immigration shaping the elections that will decide control of Congress, Democrats are trying to outflank Republicans and convince voters they can address problems at the U.S. border with Mexico, embracing an issue that has traditionally been used against them.
The shift in strategy, especially from Democrats running in battleground states, comes as the Biden administration has failed to manage an unprecedented influx of migrants at the Southwest border.
Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has led his party in opposing illegal immigration.
As the GOP looks to flip control of the Senate, they are tying Democrats to President Joe Biden’s handling of immigration.
The tactic has already figured large in elections like Arizona’s Senate race, a seat Democrats almost certainly need to win to save their majority. Republican Kari Lake has repeatedly linked Rep. Ruben Gallego, the likely Democratic nominee, to Biden, telling the crowd at a March event that “there’s really not a difference between the two.”
Democrats believe they can tout their own proposals for fixing the border, especially after Trump and Republican lawmakers rejected a Democratic proposal on border security earlier this year.
“It gives some Democrats an opportunity to say, ‘Look, I’m here for solutions,'” Gallego said.
During most of his five House terms, Gallego had been a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, but as he prepared for a Senate run, he quietly left the group. Now he’s emphasizing his work on bolstering the ranks of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and securing funding for communities impacted by recent spikes in immigration, which he calls a “crisis.”
Just two states over, Democrats are hoping to bolster their chances of holding the Senate by pulling off a difficult feat — turning Texas blue, at least in one race. Some see a chance to flip a long-held GOP seat by fielding Rep. Colin Allred, D-Texas, against Sen. Ted Cruz.
Allred has emphasized his connection to border communities on the campaign trail and recounted how he had made childhood visits to Brownsville, Texas, where his grandfather worked as a customs officer.
Both Allred and Gallego have joined a House task force focused on border security. Some Senate Democrats have also recently leaned into legislation focused on immigration enforcement. The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has launched ads criticizing GOP senators for opposing the bipartisan Senate deal.
It is all a part of a strategy to neutralize the GOP’s advantage on the issue by convincing swing voters that Democrats are serious about border policy.
“Democrats aren’t going to win on immigration this year, but they have to get closer to a draw on the issue to get to a place where people take them seriously,” said Lanae Erickson, a senior vice president at Third Way, a centrist Democrat think tank.
Still, Democrats face a difficult task when it comes to the politics of border security. A new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research has found that almost half of adults blame Biden and congressional Democrats for the current situation at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Republicans are also using practically every tool in Congress to denounce Biden’s handling of the southern border. They are forcing Democrats to take tough votes on border security measures and demanding policy changes in return for aiding Ukraine. And the House in February impeached Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his handling of the southern border.
“The reason you’re seeing the Democrats talk about the border is because they have a political crisis, not because they’re trying to solve the border crisis,” said Sen. Steve Daines, the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
“If they truly want to solve the border crisis, President Biden can go back to the Oval Office with a stroke of a pen and can make significant inroads in solving this problem. But he chooses not to.”
Democrats on Capitol Hill have all opposed Republican legislation that would bring back many of the Trump administration’s border policies, including restarting the construction of the border wall.
(Casey Harper, The Center Square) – After the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore last week, President Joe Biden called for Congress to pick up the tab, but that request has been snared by one of Biden’s more controversial policies.
The conservative House Freedom Caucus released a statement Friday responding to Biden’s funding request with their own demands that those funds must be used on the actual bridge, not political projects.
The caucus lawmakers also said they would not vote for the funding until Biden lifts his ban on new sites for liquefied natural gas exports, a highly controversial move by the Biden administration that has been under consistent fire since the ban was put in place in January of this year.
The Caucus’ stance came just before Biden visited Baltimore Friday afternoon to survey the damage and meet with officials and the family members of victims.
“Before Congress considers any emergency supplemental funding for the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, it’s important that (1) we first seek maximum liability from the foreign shipping companies upfront and (2) the Port of Baltimore draws upon already available federal funds,” the group said in a statement.
“If it proves necessary to appropriate taxpayer money to get one of America’s busiest ports back online, Congress should ensure it is fully offset and that burdensome regulations (such as NEPA, the Endangered Species Act, the Davis Bacon Act, project labor agreements, etc.) are waived to avoid all unnecessary delays and costs,” the group added.
Immediately after the Baltimore bridge incident, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration said $60 million in “quick release” emergency funds would be made available to the Maryland Department of Transportation.
Biden, though, has called for Congress to pick up the tab for rebuilding the bridge in its entirety.
“The President has also been clear since day one about his commitment that the Federal government should cover any needed costs for reconstructing the bridge,” the White House said in a statement. “While we continue to assess those costs alongside our Federal and state partners, the Biden-Harris Administration is asking Congress to join us in demonstrating our commitment to aid in recovery efforts by authorizing a 100 percent Federal cost share for rebuilding the bridge. This authorization would be consistent with past catastrophic bridge collapses, including in 2007, when Congress acted in a bipartisan manner within days of the I-35W bridge collapse in Minnesota.”
The conservative lawmakers warned that any additional federal funds passed out of Congress must not, as they often do, be siphoned off for other projects or political pet issues.
“Furthermore, this funding must be limited to physical structure repairs with a federal nexus – this must not become a pork-filled bill loaded with unrelated projects and the House of Representatives must adhere to the ‘single subject’ rule,” the group said.
Lawmakers also included a demand for Biden to revoke his ban on permits for liquefied natural gas.
“Finally, the Biden Administration’s pause on approvals of liquified natural gas export terminals – which, like the Baltimore harbor closure, has severe implications for foreign trade – must be lifted before Congress considers appropriating any funding for the bridge reconstruction.”
Federal spending has also been a major sticking point since Biden took office. Federal debt spending led to 40-year high inflation and ballooned the national debt to more than $34 trillion. Many Republicans have been just as eager to dole out those funds, but some Republicans have raised the alarm about the debt, saying it is unsustainable.
The LNG ban has received even more pushback recently. The natural gas industry supports millions of U.S. jobs and provides significant tax revenue into federal coffers.
The Biden administration has pushed back, saying the U.S. already does plenty of exporting and that climate change should be considered.
A coalition of roughly two dozen state attorneys general sent a letter to Biden in February blasting his decision to pause the export site approvals.
They argue the Department of Energy does not have the legal authority to place a wholesale ban on the export permits, as The Center Square previously reported.
“Your administration’s planned ‘pause’ – which we might more accurately call a series of constructive denials – of most American LNG exports is unlawful for several reasons,” the letter said. “Generally, agency legislative rules must go through the APA’s notice-and-comments procedures,” the letter said. “And the pause here is a substantive rule required to go through that process. The pause effectively commands the Department to stop performing its obligations under the NGA to approve export applications and does not leave the agency free to exercise discretion unless it chooses to disobey the policy. That’s the exact type of substantive rule that needs to go through notice and comment because it modifies substantial rights.”
(Headline USA) Police in Vermont are seeking a suspect who allegedly started a fire Friday outside the office of U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.
The small blaze caused minor damages but no injuries.
Authorities say an unknown male suspect sprayed what they described as a possible accelerant on the office door, set it on fire and fled. They said the suspect remained at large and no motive had been established.
“A significant fire engulfed the door and part of the vestibule, impeding the egress of staff members who were working in the office and endangering their lives,” Burlington police said in a statement.
“The sprinkler system then engaged and largely extinguished the fire.”
Earlier in the day, the Burlington Fire Department said it responded to a call Friday morning and found a fire between the vestibule, the elevator and the entrance door of Sanders’ third-floor office in Burlington.
The office door suffered moderate fire damage and much of the third floor sustained significant water damage.
The offices of Sanders and those nearby were evacuated.
A spokesperson for Sanders did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Sanders was not at the office.
(Headline USA) Six inmates who sued New York’s corrections department over its decision to lock down prisons during next Monday’s total solar eclipse will get to watch the celestial event.
Lawyers for the six men incarcerated at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility in upstate New York said Thursday that they’ve reached a settlement with the state that will allow the men to view the solar eclipse “in accordance with their sincerely held religious beliefs.”
They filed a federal suit last week arguing the April 8 lockdown violates inmates’ constitutional rights to practice their faiths by preventing them from taking part in a religiously significant event. The six men include a Baptist, a Muslim, a Seventh-Day Adventist, two practitioners of Santeria, and an atheist.
Thomas Mailey, a spokesperson for the corrections department, said the department has agreed to permit the six individuals to view the eclipse, while plaintiffs have agreed to drop their suit with prejudice.
“The lawsuit came to an appropriate resolution,” he added in an emailed statement.
The department said earlier this week that it takes all requests for religious accommodations under consideration and that those related to viewing the eclipse were currently under review.
Daniel Martuscello III, the department’s acting commissioner, issued a memo last month ordering all incarcerated individuals to remain in their housing units next Monday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., which are generally the normal hours for outdoor recreation in prisons.
He said the department will distribute solar eclipse safety glasses for staff and inmates at prisons in the path of totality so they can view the eclipse from their assigned work location or housing units.
Communities in western and northern reaches of the state are expected to have the best viewing of the moment when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, temporarily blocking the sun.
(Deroy Murdock, Headline USA) President Donald J. Trump used political jujitsu to grab a left-wing anti-Trump lie and turn it against his opponent, Joe Biden.
Trump told Ohio voters on March 16 that if he lost the November election, Biden would welcome imports of Chinese-designed, Mexican-built electric vehicles. This, Trump said, would trigger an economic “bloodbath” in the auto sector.
Biden and other leftists disinformed Americans by claiming that Trump threatened to unleash a bloodbath if Biden won.
Trump got even in Michigan Tuesday when he unveiled a slogan that electrifies America’s No. 1 issue: Angst over the illegal aliens whom Biden welcomes daily.
“It’s a border bloodbath, and it’s destroying our country,” Trump said. “It’s going to end on the day that I take office.”
“Biden’s Border Bloodbath” correctly describes the mayhem fueled by Biden’s deliberate demolition of America’s southern frontier.
Because illegal aliens often are shadowy, this problem is tough to gauge precisely.
• Brazilian illegal Everton Candido breached the border at Tecate, California, in May 2021. Police say that he drove without a license in Medford, Massachusetts on Oct. 23, 2022, when he struck and killed Army veteran Walter Wishoski, Jr., 77.
• Biden’s DHS released Venezuelan illegal Eddy Jose Ortega Alvarez on May 20, 2023. The next day, he allegedly murdered Honduran illegal Carmen Unilda Navas Zuniga and stole her cash in El Paso, Texas.
• Biden’s officials released Guatemalan illegal Juan Carlos Garcia Rodriguez, 17, at the southwest line in January 2023. Last August, he allegedly raped and strangled Maria Gonzalez, 11, in Pasadena, Texas; packed her into a laundry basket, and stashed her beneath his bed.
• Biden’s agents released Haitian illegal Hermanio Joseph after he broke into America in August 2022. Police say that he crashed into a school bus in Clark County, Ohio, last Aug. 22. The bus flipped, killing Aiden Clark, 11.
• Endrina Bracho, a Venezuelan illegal alien, allegedly struck Travis Wolfe in a head-on collision in Hazelwood, Missouri. She reportedly drove unlicensed, against traffic, at 70 mph in a 40-mph zone. This happened Dec. 20, the day before Travis’s 12th birthday, which he spent in critical condition.
Travis Wolfe, a 12-year old Missouri boy killed by an illegal migrant. This is what an open border does. Say his name https://t.co/zjllQKRwTa
“He wasn’t awake for it,” his sister, Taylor, told Fox News anchor Steve Doocy. “He didn’t get to experience anything. So, did he really actually make it to 12?“
Travis was on life support until March 6, when his catastrophic brain injuries finally killed him.
• Venezuelan Jose Antonio Ibarra arrived illegally in September 2022. Authorities say that he fatally bashed the skull of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley on February 22, while she jogged near campus, triggering a national uproar.
This lethal crisis began the day Biden took power. His 94 executive actions shredded Trump’s effective border-tightening initiatives.
Gov. Greg Gianforte, R-Mont., told Fox News Wednesday: “Biden’s border policy is as effective as a screen door on a submarine.”
Southwest border apprehensions
The Border Patrol has caught 7,444,297 illegal aliens on the US–Mexico boundary through February, Biden’s 37th month as president.
Trump’s analogous number was 2,138,696; Biden trounces Trump by 348%.
Add 1.6 million got-aways (including terrorists) whom the Washington Post estimates were detected but not detained, and at least 9 million illegal aliens have cascaded through the “border’ under Biden.
Trump and his supporters should remind voters constantly about the victims whom illegal aliens are killing while Biden snores. These deaths remain 100% preventable, if Biden simply keeps these killers out.
The cure for Biden’s Border Bloodshed? Banish Biden to his Basement.

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) An illegal alien was busted by federal immigration authorities following his release by a state judge on charges related to the squatting of a Bronx home, according to the New York Post on Friday.
Yerbin Benjamin Lozada Munoz, a Venezuelan national suspected of having ties to the notorious gang Tren De Aragua, was apprehended in Long Island, New York.
He had been released on bail after the NYPD found him inside a squatted apartment with what investigators claimed to be firearms and drugs.
Despite being released by a Bronx judge on state charges, he is now facing federal felony charges of grand larceny in the fourth degree, as reported by the Post.
According to the outlet, Nassau County Jail honored an ICE detainer for Munoz, who was apprehended during a traffic stop on Friday. ICE informed the Post that Munoz would remain in federal custody pending removal hearings.
Headline USA confirmed on Friday evening that Munoz is currently detained at the Moshannon Valley ICE Processing Center in Pennsylvania.
The apprehended illegal alien entered the U.S. through Eagle Pass, Texas, in October 2022, but like many other undocumented immigrants, he was granted parole by the Biden administration due to overcrowding at a processing center, ICE told the Post.
Munoz’s arrest comes amid several high-profile cases of property occupation making headlines. One such case involved Nadia Vitel, a New York woman who was brutally murdered by alleged two individuals who had squatted at her deceased mother’s home.
In another incident in New York, a segment aired by ABC 7’s Eyewitness News went viral after a homeowner confronted individuals allegedly squatting in her inherited property.
The death of Nadia Vitel, 52, at 206 East 31st Street in Kips Bay, has officially been ruled a homicide by blunt force trauma to the head.
The superintendent recalls helping family members enter the apartment, after they couldn’t reach her.
The segment gained attention when the homeowner, rather than the squatters, was arrested by the NYPD after changing the locks, an act considered illegal under New York City squatting laws.
A 47-year-old New York City woman, Adele Andaloro, has been arrested for attempting to remove squatters from her own Flushing, Queens home.
While in the process of trying to sell the $1 million home left to her by her parents, squatters moved in and refused to leave.
Moreover, Munoz’s Friday apprehension, following his release in 2022, adds to the growing concerns stemming from the unrestricted movement of illegal immigrants allegedly associated with criminal gangs in the U.S.
New York City has been impacted by what the NYPD described as a surge in criminal activity linked to immigrant gangs.
Many critics blame such an uptick in crime on President Joe Biden, who currently faces declining approval ratings due to his poor handling of the southern border crisis. Similarly, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas stands as the only cabinet member to have been impeached by the House of Representatives since 1876.
Mayorkas’s impeachment, focused on allegations of false claims regarding border security and purported reluctance to enforce federal immigration laws, is currently pending in the Democratic-controlled Senate, where it is not expected to pass.

Bethany S. Mandel, a Rutgers alumnus, shared a video of the event, in which Jew-hating students wore and waved keffiyehs (a pro-Palestine scarf), chanting anti-Israel slogans.
Jewish students, who had come to the town hall to ask officials about their safety on campus, were left in the room with students who were calling for the destruction of the Jewish state.
“Tonight at @RutgersU the President held a town hall with students. It devolved into anarchy, and he fled with half the police present. Jewish students who came to ask about how the admin would keep them safe on campus were left to beg the remaining police to escort them out,” Mandel wrote.

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A Washington State school district was sued by the parents of a 5-year-old kindergartner with special needs after it was discovered via video footage that the child was “sexually and physically abused” by a fifth-grade student on a school bus.
The child, who attended kindergarten in the North Mason School District, has developmental and speech delays and was provided door-to-door transportation by the district in a small bus for special education students, the complaint that was filed on Apr. 1, 2024, said, according to the Post Millennial.
The district modified its transportation plan on Sept. 13, 2023, so that younger children would begin riding the bus with older children. The kindergartner’s parents expressed their concerns regarding her “riding on the bus with older children given her age, speech delays and the number of children on the bus.”
On Sept. 22, 2023, when the mother greeted her daughter after she took the larger bus home, the child was crying, “distressed and acting out of character,” with the bus driver allegedly “brushing off” the child’s anxiety.
Instead of providing the video footage from the bus right away, the school informed the mother about her child being sexually and physically abused by a 5th-grade boy on the bus only on Sept. 26, 2023.
The complaint filed by lead attorney Amanda Searle with Connelly Law Offices in Tacoma, Wash., stated that “the footage showed the 5th-grade boy was told to sit next to [the girl] by the bus driver,” which resulted in the boy sexually and physically abusing the girl for “thirty-six minutes” while the girl was “crying and shaking her head no repeatedly.”
“The district was — in all circumstances — deliberately indifferent to the sexual abuse and physical abuse of [the child],” the complaint said.
The child’s parents accused the school district of negligently hiring, training and supervising employees, as well as failing to protect the girl from a student “with known behavioral issues.” In addition to that, the parents are seeking damages for negligence and discrimination.
“The district created a hostile environment for [the child] in ways including, but not limited to, placing her on a regular school bus given her age and disability, placing a 5th grader next to her with a history of behavioral issues, failing to supervise either the 5th grader or [the child] and allowing the abuse of [the child] by failing to intervene when she cried and yelled for help,” the complaint said.
