FBI Supervisor: Bureau Targeting Conservative Agents w/ Security Clearance Suspensions

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) An FBI supervisor has alleged that the bureau is suspending or revoking security clearances of agents suspected of holding pro-conservative views.

First reported by Just the News, the FBI supervisor’s allegations follow a DOJ Inspector General’s report, which found that 106 FBI employees have had their clearances suspended for 6 months or longer over the last five years.

Multiple FBI agents have claimed political retaliation for their suspensions or revocations. The unnamed FBI supervisor’s new disclosure corroborates those claims.

“The supervisory special agent, a registered Democrat whose name was redacted from the letters, was in charge of security clearance reviews for all FBI employees on the East Coast and alleged that other agents involved in the process also share his concerns that FBI leadership has been improperly applying a political litmus test to the question of whether employees get their top secret clearance re-approved,” Just the News reported.

“The agent alleged he and other agents who voiced concerns were retaliated against with transfers or suspensions.”

One of the agents to have his clearance suspended for political reasons was  FBI whistleblower Marcus Allen—who had his security clearance revoked for expressing “conspiratorial views” that the federal government may have provoked the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Hill uprising.

Allen was suspended more than two years ago for questioning FBI Director Chris Wray’s representations to Congress that his bureau didn’t have informants within the groups that participated in Jan. 6.

Allen and the organization that represented him, Empower Oversight, alleged that he was suspended in retaliation for making a protected disclosure.

However, there are other FBI whistleblowers facing retaliation for disclosing information that would presumably be helpful to Democrats. The most prominent example of this is FBI whistleblower Johnathan Buma, who  has accused the bureau of suppressing investigations into ties between Rudy Giuliani and Russian intelligence assets.

Buma said in a July statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee that one of his informants told him that Fuks had paid Giuliani $300,000 to serve as his U.S. lobbyist. But Buma’s bosses at the FBI prevented him from pursuing the matter, he said.

Buma is still under suspension, and he had his house raided by the FBI last November.

Empower Oversight didn’t immediately respond to questions about Buma’s case relates to their allegations of anti-conservative bias within the FBI.

Pro-Hamas Radicals Violently Assault Jews at N.C. Public Library’s ‘Anarchist Bookfair’

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Masked left-wing activists allegedly assaulted a group of Jews Saturday at a public library event in North Carolina that was advertised as an “anarchist bookfair,” the Algemeiner reported.

Three pro-Israel Jews attended the event at the West Asheville Library titled “Strategic Lessons From the Palestinian Resistance,” during which they said they were attacked and violently dragged out of the event by the activists.

The event was hosted by a pro-Palestine group that calls itself Another Carolina Anarchist Book Fair—employing the same acronym as anti-police organizations use for the slogan “all cops are bastards.”

According to the group’s website, its aim is to create an “anarchist ritual of spiritual recovery, carves out time and space to gather and rethink our strategies for destroying this world in order to open the door for many others.”

Online advertisements suggest that the group may loosely affiliate with local Antifa-type organizations engaged in domestic terrorism while using the veneer of cultural talks and events to conceal its more subversive activities from the general public.

Approximately 60 masked pro-Palestine activists attended the event.

Video of the event shows that three Jewish spectators appeared to be seated at the side of the room, recording the talk for a social-media livestream, when the speaker called attention to them.

“I’ll let you guys decide,” he asked the pro-Palestine audience. “What do you want to do?” The activists booed the Jews and told them to leave.

“They are not f*****g welcome here,” one audience member said. “I don’t trust them.”

A mob quickly formed, surrounding the trio and aggressively chanting “Free Palestine.”

The three were soon grabbed and removed forcefully from the library.

Among the Jews who showed up in opposition was Monica Buckley, 48, a self-identified queer, who caught footage of the event and posted it to her Instagram account.

She later recounted the chaotic scene in an interview with the local media station.

Another Jewish attendee, Bob Campbell, 80, said afterward that he was forced to the floor and struck.

“What really upset me—I was laying on the floor and this big guy was on top of me,” he noted. “The librarian came to the door, looked me right in the eye, turned around and walked back and didn’t do a damn thing. Didn’t call the police.”

Eventually, however, the police were called. Reports indicate that at least one mob participant was arrested.

The third Jewish attendee, David Moritz, 54, posted footage to Instagram himself showing a large welt on his head and a swollen eye, looking disheveled.

The Jewish participants appeared to be well known activists, having previously spoken out at meetings of the Asheville City Council against anti-Semitism and other related issues.

First Elected Democrat Calls on Biden to Drop Out of Race

(Casey Harper, The Center Square) Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-TX., publicly called on President Joe Biden to “withdraw” from the race Tuesday, the first elected Democrat to do so publicly.

“Having devoted his life to public service, President Biden has achieved much for our country at home and abroad,” Doggett said in a statement. “Stepping up to lead a Nation in crisis, President Biden helped rebuild our country from the devastation of a pandemic, an insurrection, and years of Trump wreckage. Yet, for more than a year, many Americans have indicated dissatisfaction with their choices in this election.”

Doggett’s bold move comes after a disastrous debate performance from the president last week sent Democrats into a panic and speculation on who could replace Biden, possibly in time for the Democratic convention this summer.

According to media reports, Democratic Senate and House candidates have expressed concerns that Biden will cost them their own election by affecting Democratic turnout.

“President Biden has continued to run substantially behind Democratic senators in key states and in most polls has trailed Donald Trump,” Doggett said. “I had hoped that the debate would provide some momentum to change that. It did not. Instead of reassuring voters, the President failed to effectively defend his many accomplishments and expose Trump’s many lies.

“Our overriding consideration must be who has the best hope of saving our democracy from an authoritarian takeover by a criminal and his gang,” he added.

While the media has widely reported on Democrats’ concerns since the debate, Doggett’s public call could start a chain reaction among Democrats to put even more pressure on Biden.

So far, Biden has waved off calls to drop out.

“I know I’m not a young man, to state the obvious,” Biden told supporters at a rally in North Carolina in an apparent response to his debate performance. “I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t talk as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to. But I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong, and I know how to do this job.

“I know, as millions of Americans know, when you get knocked down, you get back up!”

Biden stumbled, paused, and lost his train of thought several times during the CNN-hosted debate, drawing jabs from former President Donald Trump and widespread concern among the CNN panel, which panned Biden’s performance despite their liberal leanings.

Doggett echoed some of those concerns in his statement.

“Too much is at stake to risk a Trump victory – too great a risk to assume that what could not be turned around in a year, what was not turned around in the debate, can be turned around now,” he said. “President Biden saved our democracy by delivering us from Trump in 2020. He must not deliver us to Trump in 2024.”

Ilhan Omar Invites Foreign Interference in ‘Somalia First’ Rally

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., invited Somalia’s former prime minister, Hassan Khaire, to a Minnesota rally, where she received his endorsement and reiterated her intentions to put Somalian interests before America’s.

“Representative Ilhan Omar has written the name of Somalia with a gold pen,” said Khaire at the rally.

“The interests of Ilhan are not Ilhan’s, it’s not the interest of Minnesota, nor is it the interest of the American people,” he continued. “The interests of Ilhan is that of the Somalian people and Somalia.”

Omar stood to the side, looking proud to be a loyal Somalian.

“The success of Ilhan is the success of Somalia, and that carries a heavy meaning to us,” Khaire continued. “Your promise is to come shoulder to shoulder and be Ilhan’s shield and vote for her again.”

Khaire sent the crowd away with blessings, proclaiming “long live Somalia.”

Multiple people, from Omar’s peers and coworkers to CNN news pundits, questioned allegiance to the United States.

Recently, CNN pundit Scott Jennings likened her work to that of publicist trying to spin Islamic extremism, anti-Semitism and support for terrorist violence into something sanitized and palatable enough for U.S. leftists to blindly embrace.

“I am surprised that, in the year of our Lord, 2024, there is a public relations agent for Hamas sitting in the United States Congress,” he said in a panel discussion about her support for President Joe Biden.

While Democrats continued to turn a blind eye following the viral video of Omar’s latest rally—in stark contrast to their past cries of election-intererence involving nations like Russia—many others weighed in to criticize ther rally, one of several recent examples conveying Omar’s—at best—dual loyalties.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis argued that the government should deport Omar after a different public appearance where she promised to protect Somalian interests.

“While I am in Congress, no one will take Somalia’s sea,” Omar said, according to a translation of her speech.

“The United States will not back others to rob us. So, do not lose sleep over that, O Minnesotans,” she continued. “The lady you sent to Congress is on this, and she is as cognizant of this interest as you are.”

Several other politicians and commentators called for her resignation, revocation of her citizenship and deportation.

San Diego DA Touts First Prosecution of Antifa in Country’s History

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) President Joe Biden has infamously claimed that Antifa is an ideology rather than an organization, but a San Diego jury apparently disagrees.

Touting it as the first successful prosecution of Antifa in the country’s history, San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan announced Tuesday that eight of its members have been convicted for conspiring to start a riot at a political protest in January 2021. Other Antifa members have been prosecuted for various crimes, but they haven’t been identified as Antifa by the government.

“From the start this prosecution has been about holding individuals accountable for conspiring to bring violence to our community, something we won’t tolerate,” Stephan said in a press release.

According to Stephan, in January 2021 Antifa supporters posted on social media calling for “counterprotesting” in response to a scheduled political demonstration in Pacific Beach.

The defendants and other uncharged co-conspirators then showed up in Pacific Beach dressed in black clothing and armed with weapons and protective gear, Stephan said. The people charged were Alexander Akridgejacobs, 33; Brian Cortez Lightfoot Jr., 27; Christian Martinez, 25; Ruchelle Ogden, 26; Bryan Rivera, 22; Faraz Martin Talab, 29; Joseph Austin Gaskins, 23; and Jeremy White, 41—all receiving sentences ranging from 180 days to two years imprisonment.

The sentencings come after a criminal grand jury returned indictments against 11 individuals charged with crimes, including conspiracy to commit a riot, use of tear gas, assault with a deadly weapon and assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, according to Stephan’s press release. A San Diego grand jury heard testimony over 13 days and delivered the unsealed indictment in May of 2022, the press release said. In total, the defendants were indicted on 29 felony counts.

“Ten of the defendants faced conspiracy charges after the indictment and prosecutors told the court that the objective of the conspiracy was to incite and participate in a riot. It’s believed that this is the first criminal case in the nation where crimes committed by members of Antifa were brought to justice and held accountable,” Stephan said.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy District Attorneys Makenzie Harvey, William Hopkins, and Evan Andersen with investigative support from District Attorney Investigator Jonah Conley and SDPD Detective Emily Clark.

Rudy Giuliani DISBARRED in New York for Serving as Trump’s Lawyer in 2020 Election

(Elias Irizarry, Headline USA) The former mayor of New York City and federal prosecutor, Rudolph Giuliani, was officially disbarred in the State of New York for his alleged role in challenging the 2020 election.

The New York Appeals Court in Manhattan declared that Giuliani be “disbarred from the practice of law, effective immediately, and until the further order of this Court, and his name stricken from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in the State of New York,” according to reporting from the Associated Press.

Giuliani’s son, Andrew, decried the decision on X, accusing President Joe Biden and Democrat operatives of waging yet another lawfare attack on political enemies over their inherently legal efforts to investigate and challenge widespread suspicions of systemic vote fraud.

“Rudy Giuliani, the most important change agent in the history of New York City, has been disbarred,” Andrew Giuliani wrote. “Joe Biden and his leftist flunkies are simply tyrannical, they will stop at nothing to hold on to power.”

Rudy Giuliani previously had his law license suspended in the state pending a final resolution.

At least one other former Trump lawyer and current co-defendant has been disbarred for his troubles. John Eastman, a respected legal scholar at Stanford University’s Claremont Institute and former candidate for California attorney general, lost his license in the far-left state, despite the fact that he has yet to be found guilty of anything

While several states have targeted former President Donald Trump and his political allies as part of a chilling effort to weaponize the justice system against them, however, New York has been among the most egregious.

Trump, himself, has personally been subjected to three major New York trials, all on shaky evidence but with outlandish outcomes, including his recent criminal convictions for falsifying business documents during the 2016 campaign.

Giuliani has been named as a criminal defendant in at least two trials connected to the 2020 election—most recently in Arizona, where officials under state Attorney General Kris Mayes interrupted Giuliani’s 80th birthday party to serve papers on his indictment in Arizona on charges related to the 2020 election.

He also was forced into bankruptcy after a leftist judge in Washington, D.C., predetermined his guilt in a defamation case involving two Georgia election workers who were suspected of committing vote fraud, resulting in a $150 million judgment against him.

Giuliani played a key role in challenging the 2020 election results of the as a legal advisor and attorney for former President Donald Trump, leading press conferences and mounting legal challenges across the United States.

Giuliani made history for his leadership role in taking down the Mafia in New York City during his role as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

Later in his life, he would become the mayor of New York City during the Sep. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, leading the aftermath and rehabilitation of the city and earning him the recognition of “America’s Mayor.”

Central Banks Added More Gold to Reserves in May

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) Central banks continued to buy gold in May, but the pace slowed moderately with China at least temporarily out of the picture.

Central banks added a net 10 tons of gold in May, according to the latest data compiled by the World Gold Council. Central banks bought 23 tons of gold, offset by 13 tons in gross sales.

The National Bank of Poland was the biggest gold purchaser in May, adding 10 tons of gold to its reserves.

Poland was the second-biggest gold buyer in 2023. The Polish central bank bought 130 tons of gold last year, increasing its holdings by 57 percent, to 359 tons.

In 2021, Bank of Poland President Adam Glapiński announced a plan to expand the country’s gold reserves by 100 tons. The central bank reached that goal in September of ’23 and kept buying.

When he announced the plan to expand its gold reserves, Glapiński said holding gold was a matter of financial security and stability.

“Gold will retain its value even when someone cuts off the power to the global financial system, destroying traditional assets based on electronic accounting records. Of course, we do not assume that this will happen. But as the saying goes – forewarned is always insured.

And the central bank is required to be prepared for even the most unfavorable circumstances. That is why we see a special place for gold in our foreign exchange management process.”

Turkey continued to expand its gold reserves in May, adding another 6 tons to its stockpile. The Turkish central bank has been the biggest buyer so far in 2024, adding over 40 tons of gold to its holdings.

The Turkish central bank has bought gold for 12 straight months after liquidating 160 tons of gold in the spring of 2023.

India continued its gold buying spree in May, adding another 4 tons of gold to its reserves. The Reserve Bank of India has been buying gold since 2017. Over that period, the RBI has increased its gold holding by over 260 tons.

An Indian economist told the Times of India that the push to accumulate gold was based on both political and economic reasons. He said that the “reliability” of the U.S. dollar has “diminished.” He noted the “noticeable decline” in the confidence in U.S. dollar assets.

Another economist told the Times, “It makes a lot of sense (to invest in gold), given the increased volatility in the FX market, elevated interest rates in the U.S., and, of course, also as the central banks in each economy would like to diversify the asset classes in which they are parking their reserves.”

India recently transported 100 tons of its gold from the UK back into India.

The Czech Republic was the other big buyer in May, adding 3 tons of gold to its reserves.

China was notably absent from the May central bank gold buying report. After adding gold to its reserves for 18 straight months, the Chinese suddenly went quiet. When the Chinese reported no changes to their official reserves in May, it precipitated a panicked gold selloff.

Despite the kneejerk reaction, it seems unlikely that the Chinese are finished adding gold to their reserves. There are preliminary indications that China officially added gold to its reserves in June.

There is also some speculation that China is adding a significant amount of gold to its reserves off the books.

Kazakhstan was the big seller in May, shrinking its reserves by 11 tons. This comes on the heels of a 6-ton increase in April. It is not uncommon for banks that buy from domestic production – such as Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan – to switch between buying and selling.

Despite the slowdown in central bank gold buying in May, there is no indication that they are souring on the yellow metal. According to the most recent World Gold Council survey, 29 percent of central banks plan to add more gold to their reserves in the next 12 months. The WGC said it was the highest level since the survey began in 2018.

Only 3 percent said they had plans to decrease gold reserves.

Earlier this year, the World Gold Council said the continuation of gold buying supports its expectation that “2024 will be another solid year of central bank gold demand.”

“Last year central banks placed great emphasis on gold’s value in crisis response, diversification attributes, and store-of-value credentials. A few months into 2024 the world seems no less uncertain meaning those reasons for owning gold are as relevant as ever.”

Last year, central bank gold buying fell just 45 tons short of 2022’s multi-decade record.

According to the World Gold Council, central banks net gold purchases totaled 1,037 tons in 2023. It was the second straight year central banks added more than 1,000 tons to their total reserves.

Central bank gold buying in 2023 built on the prior record year. Total central bank gold buying in 2022 came in at 1,136 tons. It was the highest level of net purchases on record dating back to 1950, including since the suspension of dollar convertibility into gold in 1971.

China was the biggest buyer in 2023.

Analysts at ANZ Bank recently said they expect central bank gold buying to remain hot for at least the next six years.

According to these analysts, “Depleted trust in the U.S. fixed-income assets and the rise of non-reserve currencies are other themes that could support central bank gold buying.”

U.S. Taxpayers to Send Additional $2 Billion to Ukraine

(Headline USA) Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Tuesday that the U.S. government will soon announce a plan for taxpayers to send $2.3 billion in security assistance for Ukraine, including anti-tank weapons, interceptors, and munitions for Patriot and other air defense systems.

The announcement came as Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with Austin at the Pentagon. And it marks a strong response to pleas from Kyiv for help in battling Russian forces in the Donetsk region.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Sunday that Russia had dropped more than 800 powerful glide bombs in Ukraine in the last week alone. And he urged national leaders to relax restrictions on the use of Western weapons to strike military targets inside Russia.

In particular, he said Ukraine needs the “necessary means to destroy the carriers of these bombs, including Russian combat aircraft, wherever they are.”

According to the Council on Foreign Relations, the United States has spent 175 billion dollars as of May in support of Ukraine since Russia invaded the country in early 2022.

Capitol Hill Protestor to Write PhD Thesis on Jan. 6 Prosecutions

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Kansas State University student William Pope has been representing himself in court since he was arrested with eight crimes in relation to his participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Hill protest.

Over the last three years, Pope has seemingly done more—and better—work than most Jan. 6 defense attorneys. He’s dug up footage of plainclothes FBI agents among the protestors, exposed illicit behavior by undercover Capitol Police officers, and even successfully moved to have some of his charges dropped.

Having been enmeshed in the Jan. 6 legal machinery for some three years, Pope now seeks to write a PhD thesis on the subject, he announced on Monday.

“For almost four years, I’ve put my Ph.D. program on hold to defend myself against January 6 charges. This fall, I’ve decided to take my preliminary exams and finally begin my dissertation research,” Pope said on his GiveSendGo page, seeking donations.

“Following January 6, I lost my job teaching at Kansas State University. Since then, I’ve burned through savings and have done odd jobs to get by. I made the decision to not to ask for donations during this time, because I wanted to work to survive,” he said.

“My Ph.D. will require a lot of time and focus to complete. I intend to do my research on the legal battles January 6 defendants have faced because I believe I am in a unique position to thoroughly document this and preserve the historical record. But making this research work my focus will make it difficult for me to hold another job to support myself.”

Meanwhile, Pope’s own legal battles continue. His trial was set for July 22, but it was pushed due to the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision to overturn the “obstruction of an official proceeding” charge that the Justice Department wielded against hundreds of Jan. 6 protestors. He’ll now have a status conference on what was going to be his trial date.
