Greene to Lead Subcommittee Taking on Government Spending

(Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., has been appointed to lead a subcommittee dedicated to working with President-elect Donald Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency.

Known as a Republican firebrand and close ally of Trump, Greene has already set her sights on rooting out “every penny of waste and abuse.”

“We’ll be looking at everything from government-funded media programs like NPR that spread nothing but Democrat propaganda, we’ll be going into grant programs that fund things like sex apps in Malaysia, toilets in Africa,” she said on a media appearance Sunday morning.

The subcommittee will be under the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, which is chaired by U.S. Rep. James Comer, R-Ky.

“We want to make the government more efficient,” Comer said on a media appearance. “We want to work for the taxpayers, not the bureaucrats. We hate the deep state, we’ve dealt with the deep state, we’ve fought the deep state.”

He added that Republicans are excited to implement the recommendations of DOGE, which, as an advisory committee, will have to work with Trump and Congress to change policies.

“What Trump has … are willing partners to make government more efficient,” Comer said of Congress.

Elon Musk, CEO of X and Tesla Motors, and Vivek Ramaswamy are currently heading up DOGE.

“Looking forward to working together with Congress,” Ramaswamy said on social media of Greene’s appointment. “Proper oversight of agencies and public transparency are critical.”

DOGE has made it a key part of its plan to address the national debt of $36 trillion. That is $273,000 owed per taxpayer.

“This trend must be reversed, and we must balance the budget,” DOGE posted.

For her part, Greene has promised to “drain the swamp,” stating that “nothing is off the table” when it comes to holding government agencies like the Pentagon accountable.

“Our government should steward every single cent of your hard-earned money,” Greene said. “The DOGE subcommittee will expose the waste and bring truth and transparency to the American people.”

Bureaucrats and independent contractors will also be on the chopping block, in what Greene called a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make real transformational change to government to benefit the American people.”

“In the private sector, if you’re not doing a good job, you get fired,” she said on social media.

“But for some reason, in government, bad employees–whether they’re failing to do the job they were hired to do or working in roles that are no longer needed–never get fired,” she continued. “This is incredibly unfair to the hard-working taxpayers of our country, and it’s about to change.”

Recently, an audit of the IRS found that its employees and contractors owe millions in taxes, all while the agency warned thousands of taxpayers that they could face jail time.

“The same unelected IRS government employees and contractors, who owe $50 million in unpaid taxes, would throw Americans in jail for not paying their taxes,” Greene said of the audit. “Time to hold them all accountable.”

Greene also addressed Democrats’ accusations that the subcommittee will go after programs like Social Security.

“No, Senator Warren, we are not going to take away a senior’s Social Security. That’s a lie,” Greene responded on social media. “We are going to investigate all areas of the federal government like CFPB, an ‘independent’ agency inside the federal government. Beholden to no one. Ran by unelected bureaucrats.”

DOJ Drops Case against Pakistanis Caught Smuggling Iranian Arms to Houthis

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) In February, the Justice Department announced charges against four men who were caught by U.S. naval forces transporting weapons from Iran to Houthi rebel forces in Yemen.

At the time, the DOJ lamented the fact that two Navy SEALs lost their lives during the interdiction.

“The Justice Department extends our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the two Navy SEALs who lost their lives on January 11th while conducting an operation in the Arabian Sea,” Attorney General Merrick Garland said at the time. “The Justice Department will use every legal authority to hold accountable those who facilitate the flow of weapons from Iran to Houthi rebel forces.”

But last week, the DOJ dropped its case against two of the men—20-year-old Pakistani national Izhard Muhammad and 25-year-old Ghufran Ullah—so that they can serve as material witnesses against two of the other defendants, Muhammad Pahlawan and Mohammad Mazhar.

According to two Nov. 15 FBI affidavits, agents interviewed Muhammad and Ullah in January, after they were captured by the Navy in international waters off the coast of Somalia.

“During the course of that interview, the witness provided information that is material to the Investigation being conducted in the Eastern District of Virginia. Further, the FBI’s investigation has revealed that IZHAR MUHAMMAD likely has additional information that is material to this matter,” the FBI’s affidavit for Muhammade’s arrest said.

“Specifically, the government anticipates that IZHAR MUHAMMAD, as a crewmember that boarded the dhow in Konarak, Iran on or about approximately January 5, 2024, and traveled on it with Pahlawan until the Navy stopped the dhow on or about January 11, 2024, will be able to provide testimony [against the other defendants].”

Muhammad is expected to testify about his crew’s arms smuggling, as well as the crew’s organizational structure. The FBI affidavit for Gullah’s arrest contains similar information.

The DOJ’s charges against the two Pakistanis were dropped on Nov. 15. They were immediately arrested on the same day to be held as material witnesses, and they remain in custody.

“The testimony of IZHAR MUHAMMAD will be material to the federal investigation and trial of Muhammad Pahlawan and Mohammad Mazhar, and it will be impractical to secure this witness’s presence for purpose of a Rule 15 deposition, or at trial by subpoena, because the witness presents a serious risk of flight,” a Nov. 15 FBI affidavit said, explaining why arrest warrants were necessary even though the men are no longer criminal defendants.

“In light of the facts and circumstances discussed below, it is necessary to obtain a material witness warrant.”

Lawfare: Trump Leverages Landslide Win to Demand Dismissal of NY Civil Case

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Attorneys representing President-elect Donald Trump cited the 2024 election results to demand that New York Attorney General Letitia James withdraw her civil lawsuit against him and the Trump Organization.

In a Tuesday letter, Trump’s attorney and incoming Solicitor General D. John Sauer urged James to drop the case “for the greater good of the country,” aligning with the president-elect’s commitment to unite the country.

“In furtherance of our conversations with your office, we write to request that you completely dismiss the above-referenced case against President Donald J. Trump, his family, and his businesses, and stipulate to vacate the Judgment and dismiss all claims with prejudice,” Sauer wrote, according to Fox News.

Sauer’s letter comes less than a month after Trump secured a sweeping victory in the 2024 presidential election, decisively winning all battleground states.

Trump’s landslide victory occurred despite James’s civil lawsuit, two federal indictments orchestrated by the Biden-Harris administration and two state indictments led by district attorneys in Fulton County and Manhattan, respectively.

As mentioned by Sauer, Trump called for unity throughout the campaign, emphasizing that his only form of vengeance would be achieving success.

“President Trump has called for our Nation’s partisan strife to end, and for the contending factions to join forces for the greater good of the country,” Sauer wrote. “This call for unity extends to the legal onslaught against him and his family that permeated the most recent election cycle.”

Sauer added, “As counsel for President Trump in this appeal—and now as his nominee for Solicitor General of the United States—I have had the opportunity to experience this partisan division personally, and I strongly believe that it is necessary for the health of our Republic for the strife and lawfare to end.”

In the civil lawsuit, James dubiously alleged that Trump inflated his property values to secure favorable loans. The case was overseen by leftist Manhattan Judge Arthur Engoron, who initially imposed a $464 million fine on Trump. On appeal, the fine was later reduced to $175 million.

Trump Cabinet Nominees Targeted by Bomb Threats and Swatting, Despite Recent Arrests

(Kyle Becker, Headline USA) The Trump–Vance transition team has come under assault from currently unnamed perpetrators who have made violent threats against them and their families.

Some of President-elect Donald Trump’s high-profile staff selections had been subjected to bomb threats and swatting that began Tuesday evening and continued Wednesday morning, according to incoming press secretary Karoline Leavitt, the transition team’s spokesperson.

“Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees and administration appointees were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them,” Leavitt said in a statement.

“In response, law enforcement acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted,” Leavitt said. “President Trump and the entire Transition team are grateful for their swift action.”

She added in the statement that the transition team remained “focused on doing the work of uniting our nation by ensuring a safe and prosperous future.”

In a separate statement given to Fox News Digital, Leavitt provided few details about the threats, but she did note that “[l]ocal law enforcement officials responded to the threats and visited the homes of several nominees and appointees.”

New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, nominated for ambassador to the United Nations in the forthcoming Trump administration, confirmed on X that she was one of the targets of the threats.

“This morning, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, her husband, and their three-year-old son were driving home to Saratoga County from Washington for Thanksgiving when they were informed of a bomb threat to their residence,” the post stated.

“New York State, County law enforcement, and U.S. Capitol Police responded immediately with the highest levels of professionalism,” it continued. “We are incredibly appreciative of the extraordinary dedication of law enforcement officers who keep our communities safe 24/7.”

It was unknown if any of the suspects had been apprehended or would be charged for their violent threats against Donald Trump’s transition team members.

The threats, ironically, followed the recent arrest of two European men who were charged by the Justice Department in August with allegedly swatting dozens of U.S. lawmakers and other public figures, according to a report from Politico.

Among the victims was Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who was swatted multiple times at her home in northwest Georgia, as well as seeing family members targeted.

Rep. Brandon Williams, R-N.Y., had his Christmas Day festivities disrupted as the result of a similar attack.

And the harassment he received on Dec. 30 of last year may even have contributed to the decision by RINO Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wisc., to resign abruptly from Congress, leaving the House GOP with a precariously thin majority and little room to legislate.

“I signed up for the death threats and the late-night swatting, but they did not,” Gallagher said, according to The Hill. “And for a young family, I would say this job is really hard.”

Conservative media personalities were also targeted, including Philip “Catturd” Buchanan, who was interrupted last year during a live podcast.

He confirmed that the Europeans apprehended this week were the suspected perpetrators.

Human Events host and editor Jack Posobiec said his parents had likewise been among the victims of a swatting incident linked to the European men. Posobiec told Headline USA that the two men arrested had also discussed targeting his wife, Tanya.

Not all of the recent swatting victims were conservatives. Among those targeted from the Left was George Soros, who—like Gallagher—was swatted last Dec. 30, although the billionaire oligarch was reportedly vacationing in Barbados at the time.

Trump Supporters Troll Leftist Women Gathering for a Post-Election ‘Primal Scream’

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) A group of leftist women gathered on Nov. 9 for a collective “Primal Scream” off the shore of Lake Michigan in response to the resounding victory of President-elect Donald Trump, whose supporters trolled them with flags from atop a hill.

More than a dozen Democrat women stood on the sand in Klode Park as they shrieked for roughly 10 seconds to release their “pain and frustration” about Vice President Kamala Harris’s indubitable defeat, video showed.

While footage of Lake Michigan’s “Primal Scream” circulated Wednesday on X ahead of Thanksgiving, it was originally posted on Facebook by user Tamara Gibbs, who participated in the tribal meltdown.

“What a gorgeous morning to gather at Klode Park in Whitefish Bay to engage in a Primal Scream in order to release our pain and frustration after the election,” Gibbs wrote on the social media platform.

Gibbs revealed that Trump supporters teased them from afar by waving Trump flags, but the political groups did not clash.

“If you zoom in you will see Trump supporters proudly waving their flags on top of the hill. Many thanks to MPD for keeping us safe,” she added.

The cluster of Democrat women wore winter clothing as they shouted toward the sea, videos shared by Gibbs show.

Before straining their vocal chords, the group huddled to bemoan Harris’s loss by sharing personal stories.

One grandmother said her granddaughter hopes Harris runs for office again so she can help her win, which was met by applause.

Another woman told fellow disappointed Democrats not to give up, urging them to work at the “local level” to protect their rights.

“We have an opportunity in this state in two years to take back the legislative [branch],” the woman said.

After their “Primal Scream,” the leftist women removed some clothing to swim in the lake’s frigid water.

Reacting to the viral footage, Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk wrote on X, “This Thanksgiving, be thankful this isn’t you.”

Political commentator Gunther Eagleman, among others, suggested the women in the video were not mentally stable.

“And they wonder why they lost resoundingly a few weeks ago lol,” women’s rights activist and athlete Riley Gaines wrote on X.

As Biden Boosts Ukraine, U.S. Soldiers Literally Starve

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) As lame-duck President Joe Biden and his comrades in Congress ship off billions of dollars to Ukraine, United States soldiers stationed at home are being fed slop, Military.com reported.

According to the report, the issue has been ongoing for months at Fort Carlson, Colorado, where food rations have been limited and selections are dwindling.

One recent meal, in particular, was a single piece of toast and a handful of lima beans—apparently meant to provide sufficient nutrition for active members of the United States military.

The food supply center, which is supposed to be feeding over 4,500 soldiers, on the base is also reportedly subject to random closures and obscure hours.

While some soldiers have been able to escape from the light rations and poor quality, not all on site have access to cars, meaning they are stuck being undernourished.

“This has been a division-wide issue with the [dining facilities] on workdays and kiosks on the weekend,” an anonymous soldier said.

“The people who deal with it the worst are the soldiers who live in the barracks and don’t have a car.”

Lt. Col. Joseph Payton, spokesman for the base, issued a statement claiming that though there have been long-standing issues with food quality and quantity, the base remains “committed” to the soldiers present.

“We recognize that we’ve had some challenges with consistency in the quality of our soldiers’ dining experiences at our warrior restaurants and kiosks,” Payton noted, adding that they will ensure that “soldiers receive quality and healthy meals and can take full advantage of their meal benefit they are entitled to receive.”

Amidst food mismanagement at home, Biden has committed himself to making sure that Ukrainians are comfortable, asking Congress for an additional $24 billion in aid for the foreign nation.

This aid package request follows on the heels of the president unilaterally forgiving Ukraine $4.65 billion in debt to the United States.

“President Biden will make the case that we do need ongoing resources for Ukraine beyond the end of his term,” National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said earlier this month during a CBS appearance, adding that “the United States should not walk away from its commitment, either to Ukraine or to 50 nations that we have rallied in defense of Ukraine in both Europe and Asia.”

Walmart’s Rollback of Controversial DEI Practices Leaves Left-Wing Activists Reeling

(Headline USA) Walmart’s sweeping rollback of its diversity policies is the strongest indication yet of a profound shift taking hold at U.S. companies that are re-evaluating the legal and political risks associated with discriminatory hiring and advancement practices based exclusively on identity politics.

Walmart confirmed to the Associated Press that it would better monitor its third-party marketplace items to make sure they don’t feature sexual and transgender products aimed at minors.

Among other changes, Walmart said it would no longer give priority treatment to suppliers owned by women or minorities, and it will not renew a five-year commitment for a so-called racial equity center.

The company also will stop participating in the Human Rights Campaign’s annual benchmark index that measures workplace inclusion for LGBT employees.

The changes announced by the world’s biggest retailer on Monday followed a pressure campaign by anti-woke activist Robby Starbuck, who has claimed victory in forcing several corporations that cater to conservative clienteles to retreat from their overtly leftist policies.

Several of those companies have subsequently announced that they were pulling back their initiatives, including Ford, Harley–Davidson, Lowe’s and Tractor Supply.

However, a Walmart spokesperson insisted some of the changes were already in progress and not the result of conversations that it had with Starbuck.

The movement is, in large part, a backlash to the corporate trend toward controversial environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices, which were driven by threats by major investment companies, including BlackRock and Vanguard, to divest in those who refused to genuflect to their extortionist demands. It peaked with the wave of cancel culture that followed the 2020 George Floyd riots.

The retreat from such programs began in earnest following the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark 2023 decision overturning affirmative action with a pair of cases brought by the equal-protection advocacy group Students for Fair Admissions. It built its case around admissions practices at Harvard University and the University of North Carolina that, among other things, discriminated against Asian–American students.

However, it crystalized with the recent re-election of former President Donald Trump, whose administration is certain to make dismantling diversity, equity and inclusion programs a priority. Trump’s incoming deputy chief of policy will be his longtime adviser Stephen Miller, whose America First Legal has aggressively challenged corporate DEI policies.

“There has been a lot of reassessment of risk looking at programs that could be deemed to constitute reverse discrimination,” said Allan Schweyer, principal researcher at the Human Capital Center at the Conference Board. “This is another domino to fall, and it is a rather large domino.”

Schweyer said the biggest trigger for companies making such changes is simply a reassessment of their legal risk exposure as conservative groups have secured a string of court victories targeting companies, nonprofits, and even the Biden administration.

Most recently, the conservative Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty won a victory in a case against the U.S. Department of Transportation over its use of a program that gives priority to minority-owned businesses when it awards contracts.

“We have a legal landscape within the entire federal government, all three branches—the U.S. Supreme Court, the Congress and the President—are all now firmly pointed in the direction towards equality of individuals and individualized treatment of all Americans, instead of diversity, equity and inclusion treating people as members of racial groups,” said Dan Lennington, a deputy counsel at the Wisconsin Institute.

Lennington said his organization says it has identified more than 60 programs in the federal government that it considers discriminatory.

The Trump administration is also likely to take direct aim at DEI initiatives through executive orders and other policies that affect private companies, especially federal contractors.

“The impact of the election on DEI policies is huge,” said Jason Schwartz, co-chair of the Labor & Employment Practice Group at law firm Gibson Dunn. “It can’t be overstated.”

With Miller returning to the White House, rolling back DEI initiatives is likely to be a priority, Schwartz said.

“Companies are trying to strike the right balance to make clear they’ve got an inclusive workplace where everyone is welcome, and they want to get the best talent, while at the same time trying not to alienate various parts of their employees and customer base who might feel one way or the other,” Schwartz said. “It’s a virtually impossible dilemma.”

That situation, however, is largely self-inflicted for organizations that previously saw virtue-signaling their woke values as a sort of workaround, allowing them to continue engaging in exploitative, anti-consumer practices without fearing a shakedown from leftist agitators who made up in political influence what they lacked in popular support.

A recent survey by Pew Research Center showed that support for DEI policies was on the decline. The share of workers who said focusing on workplace diversity was mostly a good thing fell to 52% in the October survey, compared to 56% in a similar survey in February 2023. Rachel Minkin, a research associate at Pew, called it a small but significant shift in short amount of time.

However—not everyone is pleased with the trend. Organizations that have profitted immensely from workshops and consulting contracts that promote arbitrary and unproven DEI best practices are likely to lose out as the pendulum swings back to normal.

Walmart says its U.S. businesses sourced more than $13 billion in goods and services from “diverse” suppliers in fiscal year 2024.

“This is inconsistent with the Walmart I know,” fumed Marc Morial, CEO of the National Urban League, which has worked with Walmart on DEI efforts in the past.

He called the company’s pullback from DEI “stunning” and “unexpected.”

Morial claimed DEI policies were how organizations ensured compliance with federal anti-discrimination laws like the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Any suggestion of favoritism or preferential treatment “is really defamatory against what DEI represents,” he whined.

Morial warned that Walmart would see “a strong message” to the decision, but that left-wing activists were “first very interested in dialogue” with Walmart executives.

There will be more companies pulling back from their DEI policies, but among those whose politics have become too firmly entrenched in the corporate culture, there may also be some lingering resistance, provided they can continue to get away with preserving the status-quo.

“There are vastly more companies that are sticking with DEI,” claimed David Glasgow, executive director of the Meltzer Center for Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging at New York University.

“The only reason you don’t hear about it is most of them are doing it by stealth,” Glasgow admitted. “They’re putting their heads down and doing DEI work and hoping not to attract attention.”

Some—including BlackRock itself—are banking on the belieft that a superficial rebranding will placate their detractors and keep them at bay until corporate globalists are able to regroup.

Glasgow advised organizations to stick to their radical values, consumers and other plebian stakeholders be damned, because attitudes toward the topic could change again in the span of four years.

“It’s going to leave them looking a little bit weak if there’s a kind of flip-flopping, depending on whichever direction the political winds are blowing,” he warned.

He also dangled the threat of leftist lawsuits and punitive consequences when the other side regained power for those who strayed from the hive.

“Really think carefully about the risks in all directions on this topic,” Glasgow said.

The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, a nonprofit that last year named Walmart one of America’s top corporation for women-owned enterprises, said it was still evaluating the impact of Walmart’s news.

It was hoping the company’s announcement reflected a more superficial shift than a sincere intention to comply with the latest legal demands, and that Walmart could instead find technical loopholes to circumvent the spirit of the law.

Pamela Prince–Eason, the president and CEO of the organization, said Walmart should continue to drive contracts to women-owned suppliers even if the company has no explicit dollar goals.

“I suspect Walmart will continue to have one of the most inclusive supply chains in the World,” Prince–Eason wrote. “Any retailer’s ability to serve the communities they operate in will continue to value understanding their customers, (many of which are women), in order to better provide products and services desired and no one understands customers better than Walmart.”

RaShawn “Shawnie” Hawkins, senior director of the HRC Foundation’s Workplace Equality Program, said companies that “abandon” their commitments workplace inclusion policies were “shirking their responsibility to their employees, consumers, and shareholders.”

Hawkins said the buying power of LGBT customers was powerful and insisted that the index would have record participation of more than 1,400 companies in 2025.

China Includes FBI Informant in Prisoner Swap w/ Biden Administration

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Three Americans who were imprisoned in China were reportedly released Wednesday as part of a prisoner swap the country’s government conducted with the Biden administration.

The three freed prisoners are John Leung, Kai Li and Mark Swidan, all whom were flying back to the U.S. on Wednesday. According to the New York Times, Leung is an FBI informant.

“Leung was outwardly pro-Beijing. He backed the country’s claim to Taiwan, organized groups that promoted American ties with China and frequently appeared with Chinese consular officials in Houston. He had also provided information to the FBI for years,” the Times reported Wednesday, citing anonymous sources.

According to the Times, Lueng’s FBI handlers told him not to visit China. Lueng did so anyways in 2021, and was imprisoned.

“For over two years, his friends and family heard nothing. In 2023, a court in the city of Suzhou sentenced him to life in prison, a first for an American charged with espionage in China,” the Times reported Wednesday.

The Biden administration’s prisoner swap has reportedly been in the works for months. It entails the U.S. releasing at least one Chinese prisoner. A State Department official confirmed the names of the Americans being released, but would not give further details, the Times reported.

The Chinese prisoner in the U.S. is rumored to be CCP intelligence officer Xu Yanjun, who was was convicted of espionage by a federal jury in Cincinnati in November 2021. Xu allegedly targeted American aviation companies, recruited employees to travel to China, and solicited their proprietary information—all on behalf of China.

The Times quoted John Kamm, the founder of the San Francisco rights group Dui Hua Foundation, who said the prisoner swap may be an overture to the incoming Trump administration.

“It suggests to me that they not only want to give a parting gift to Joe Biden, but they are signaling to Donald Trump the possibility of making important concessions,” he reportedly said.

Harris Donor ‘Stunned’ as Kamala Shakes Off Fired Staffers for Thanksgiving Recipe

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Lindy Li, a member of the Democratic National Committee’s finance committee, said she was “stunned” when Vice President Kamala Harris spoke about her Thanksgiving recipe on a call with donors instead of taking responsibility for her campaign’s defeat.

Li, who donated to the Harris campaign, explained that Harris held two post-election phone calls for her top donors and grassroots supporters.

She told NewsNation that she was texting her fellow donors as the failed Democrat nominee took a “self-congratulatory” tone.

“We were amazed by how self-congratulatory the time was,” Li said. “The call was about 20, 30 minutes. I don’t recall anyone taking responsibility for the fact that we spent about $2 billion across the super PAC in the campaign and came up so significantly short.”

Li mentioned how Harris lost all seven battleground states—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin—to President-elect Donald Trump.

The DNC official added that on the call, Harris was praised as a “visionary leader” before dishing out what was on the menu for Thanksgiving dinner.

“I believe at one moment during the call, she was talking about her Thanksgiving recipe,” Li told NewsNation.

Li added she was surprised by the vice president not addressing the defeat.

“I don’t say this with any malice or anything, I’m just merely conveying what happened,” she added. “I think I was stunned to hear that given just the extent and brutality of the loss and the fact that DNC staffers, two-thirds, at least two-thirds have been fired.”

Li expressed her surprise that the Democrats did not try to learn from Trump’s win and instead doubled down on propping themselves up.

“It was really just patting each other on the back, congratulating each other on I’m not sure what, and saying, ‘We’ll see you for Christmas!’” she said.

Cruz Blasts MSNBC’s Katy Tur for Being the ‘PR Arm of Hezbollah’

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, blasted MSNBC’s Katy Tur on Wednesday’s episode of his podcast for acting as the “PR arm of Hezbollah” in her coverage of the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire deal.

On Tuesday, Tur asked Israeli spokesman David Mencer if Israel’s promise to attack Hezbollah if it rearms would “go for the other side as well.”

Cruz and his co-host, Ben Ferguson, were stunned that the MSNBC host treated Israel like a terrorist organization in her line of questioning.

“That may be the most astonishing question I’ve ever heard a reporter say in my life,” the Texas senator said on Verdict with Ted Cruz.

Cruz criticized what he called an “absurd” question from Tur implying that Israel should not use its army to defend itself as a sovereign nation.

He reminded listeners of the deadly terror attack against Israel by Hamas, which took the lives of roughly 1,200 civilians.

“Well, there is MSNBC being the PR arm of Hezbollah saying, well, wouldn’t it violate it if Israel rearms itself?” he said. “No, Israel has a right to defend itself and to keep the people of Israel safe, and they are not the equivalent as apparently, MSNBC seems to think of the terrorist organization, Hamas and Hezbollah, that target and murder civilians.”

The senator slammed the Biden-Harris administration for trying to bungle Trump’s transition with foreign conflict.

“Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and the Democrats are trying to tie Israel’s hands, and they’re trying to do it before the Trump administration comes into office,” Cruz said. “And so, what I’m trying to make clear is nothing in this deal ties Israel’s hands to protect itself, to defeat, and kill terrorists.”

He praised Israel for fiercely defending itself against terrorism despite wavering support from the Democrats in the U.S.

“Understand, literally, on the day of October 7, the Biden administration was saying publicly, ‘Do not retaliate militarily.’ They have been saying every day since October 7, happened, ‘Stop killing terrorists,’” Cruz added. “And Israel, to its credit, and I got to say, the Prime Minister, spokesman there that I think did a fantastic job of articulating that Israel is going to defend itself, whether or not Democrats in Washington are willing to support it.”
