Sinema, Manchin Thwart Dems’ Plan to Hijack Agency Ahead of Trump Admin

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Sens. Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., and Joe Manchin, D-W.V., shut down the soon-to-be-powerless Democratic Party’s ploy to extend the term of Laura McFerran as chair of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) just before President-elect Donald Trump takes office.

McFerran’s term is set to expire next week, but President Joe Biden and Senate Democrats sought to renominate her for an additional five years—well past Trump’s second term.

By blocking this renomination, Sinema and Manchin joined Republicans in allowing Trump the opportunity to appoint a Republican chair who will prioritize his America First agenda.

NLRB currently has a Democratic majority with three board members, including those appointed by Biden: David M. Prouty and Gwynne A. Wilcox. The other member, Marvin E. Kaplan, is a Republican appointed during Trump’s first term. A second Republican position remains vacant.

Democrats’ plan to renominate McFerran was underscored by reports that outgoing Vice President Kamala Harris was prepared to rush to the Senate in case her tie-breaking vote was required. The vote ultimately failed 50-49, with Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., being the only conservative not voting.

As reported by The Hill, outgoing Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., whined about the thwarted nomination, claiming, “It is deeply disappointing, a direct attack on working people, and incredibly troubling that this highly qualified nominee — with a proven track record of protecting worker rights — did not have the votes.”

As reported by Axios, Manchin arrived at the Capitol after the vote had begun and voted, “No.” Vice President-elect and Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio., rushed into Washington, D.C. from Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday morning to thwart the nomination.

“He got on a plane to Washington specifically to be in the Senate for this vote,” a source told Semafor.

As reported by the outlet, Democrats needed either Manchin or Sinema to join their caucus to install McFerran into the agency for the next five years.

The NLRB describes itself as an independent federal agency responsible for protecting workers’ rights to organize and determining whether they will have unions as their bargaining representatives.

“The agency also acts to prevent and remedy unfair labor practices committed by private sector employers and unions,” it added.

ActBlue Admits to Violating Campaign Finance Laws in 2024 Election

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Leftist organization ActBlue recently admitted that it didn’t automatically block donations made with foreign-bought gift cards until recently.

Just the News wrote in its exclusive report that this was a potentially significant revelation in a current investigation into whether China, Russia, Iran or Venezuela paid off candidates of the Democratic Party.

The news source learned that from House Administration Chairman Bryan Steil, R-Wis.

According to Just the News, ActBlue also stated that it updated its policies on Sept. 9 to “automatically reject donations that use foreign prepaid/gift cards, domestic gift cards, are from high-risk/sanctioned countries, and have the highest level of risk as determined,” by its solution provider, Sift.

“While this is a positive step forward, there is still more work to be done to ensure our campaign finance system is fully protected from fraud and unlawful foreign interference,” Steil told the news source. “The documents provided to the Committee also confirm that ActBlue still accepted these concerning payment methods in July, a period when Democrats raised a record number of campaign money before implementing these safeguards.”

Steil also told Just the News that politicians “must keep working to ensure that no foreign funds were illegally funneled into U.S. political campaigns during this election cycle” and “enact lasting reforms to prevent illicit contributions in future election cycles.”

“Advancing legislation like the SHIELD Act will permanently close these vulnerable loopholes and safeguard the integrity of our campaign finance system,” he said.

Many American politicians, including Steil, responded to the recent social media report.

“My investigation into ActBlue has uncovered the risk of foreign funding in our elections. According to newly obtained documents, ActBlue changed its policies to reject gift cards and donations from sanctioned countries. I’ll continue working to prevent foreign funding in elections,” he wrote.

U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., also stated that ActBlue’s discovered actions were “illegal.”

“Our work here is just getting started,” he wrote.

Former Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y., also criticized the FBI and the Justice Department for not taking action.

“It’s all corrupt… Dems that benefited from this should NOT be seated in the 119th Congress… @SpeakerJohnson, you know what to do! Any Dem that benefited from this breach in our elections should not hold their office as they were elected with foreign money!” he wrote.

Democrats interfered in the 2024 election in other ways as well. The most recent and blatant example happened in Pennsylvania, where leftists tried to steal the Senate seat for former Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., even though everybody already acknowledged Sen. David McCormick’s victory.

Fox News May Buy Daily Wire as Brett Cooper Leaves Company

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Semafor recently reported that Fox News plans to buy several news outlets, including the Daily Wire.

Axios asked the Daily Wire co-CEO Jeremy Boreing about the potential deal with Fox News. He said the company isn’t actively looking for a buyer but added that its leadership is “not closed off to an offer.”

“It’s easy to imagine a strategic partnership with Fox or someone like Fox that could be mutually beneficial. I think that we complement Fox and don’t compete with Fox,” Boreing told Axios, adding that it wouldn’t be beneficial for Fox News to buy the company because the Daily Wire’s audience is not as old as an average Fox News viewer.

The recent news came after one of the Daily Wire’s hosts, Brett Cooper, left the company.

“Hey guys, some of you have heard the rumors online, and the rumors are mostly true,” she said on Tuesday. “Today, December 10, will be my last day hosting the Comments Section and working for the Daily Wire. It is not true that I am being forced out. It was my own choice to leave.”

After Cooper announced her departure, Boreign stated that Cooper leaving the company was “bittersweet indeed.”

“We’re sad to see Brett go, but we’re excited to see her take the next step in her journey,” he said. “It’s been a pleasure to see her bring the Comments Section to life these last three years.”

Cooper posted another tweet the next day, stating that she is “grateful for good porch swings and sunrises.”

“Feeling great today and so excited for the future! Thank you so much for all your well wishes and DMs. I feel so honored that I’ve gotten to connect with so many wonderful folks. Onwards!” she wrote.

The news about Cooper leaving started with rumors, which resulted in people asking whether the rumors were true.

Many conservatives responded to Cooper leaving the company by wishing her well and praising her. Among them were Cooper’s former colleague Matt Walsh, blacklisted Hollywood actress Gina Carano, host of Conspiracy Pilled Abby Libby, conservative commentator Kangmin Lee, athlete Riley Gaines and a co-host of Pop Culture Crisis Mary Morgan, among many others.

CNN Is Allegedly Less Popular than Food Network

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Fox News recently claimed that its rival network, CNN, became less popular than the Food Network.

The news source reported that CNN finished No. 17 among cable stations during primetime last week. The network’s primetime shows also averaged only 367,000 total viewers from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. last week. On the other hand, Fox News averaged 2.5 million total primetime viewers during the same time.

Fox News also noted that CNN’s audience was smaller than that of Food Network, TNT, Hallmark Channel, ESPN, and even MSNBC, another left-wing network.

Conservatives on Twitter celebrated the recent news, pointing out that, as Fox News pointed out in its article, this could be a sign that mainstream media, in general, and cable networks, in particular, are becoming less popular every day, especially among young people.

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk even pointed out in one of his social media posts that CNN couldn’t even blame the slow news cycle since many things happened recently, such as “the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, the manhunt for the killer, the drama surrounding President Trump’s cabinet picks, Joe Biden’s pardon of Hunter and the shocking fall of Bashar al-Assad in Syria.”

“This is devastating for the legacy cable news media. People are rejecting them and turning to resources like The Charlie Kirk Show, [Dan] Bongino, Megyn Kelly, Joe Rogan and War Room. And they’re coming to [Twitter] for real-time breaking news,” Kirk wrote. “We are living through a dramatic tectonic shift that will change the course of history.”

Political commentator Patrick Bet-David also responded to the recent news by writing that the fact that Food Network, History Channel and Comedy Central have higher ratings than CNN is “delicious, historic and funny at the same time.”

“Ahh, poor babies,” country star John Rich wrote.

Conservative commentator Mario Nawfal also suggested that CNN should focus on dealing with the fact that the network has become irrelevant.

Former Jan. 6, 2021, political prisoner Derrick Evans reassured Americans that the recent news was not a joke.

This did not stop others, like Elon Musk, from laughing about what had happened.

‘That’s Journalism’: ProPublica Pats Itself on Back after Hegseth Hitpiece Humiliation

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Leftist attack dog ProPublica seemed unfazed by the widespread ridicule it faced on social media after its botched attempt at a smear campaign against Pete Hegseth backfired.

The publication had plotted to accuse Hegseth of falsely claiming he was accepted into West Point. In response, Hegseth got ahead of the publication and shared his acceptance letter confirming that he had been accepted into the military academy—though he declined the offer.

In a now-viral tweet, Hegseth wrote, “We understand that ProPublica (the Left Wing hack group) is planning to publish a knowingly false report that I was not accepted to West Point in 1999.”

Hegseth also shared his letter of acceptance signed by Army Lieutenant General and then-West Point Superintendent Daniel Christman.

As criticism mounted against ProPublica, its editor, Jesse Eisinger, attempted to defend the outlet but inadvertently made the situation worse. He claimed West Point had falsely informed the publication that Hegseth was never admitted to the military academy.

“We asked West Pt public affairs, which told us twice on the record that he hadn’t even applied there,” Eisinger wrote on X. “We reached out. Hegseth’s spox gave us his acceptance letter. We didn’t publish a story. That’s journalism.”

Despite Eisinger’s attempt to save face, Hegseth’s defenders said the real story ProPublica should have published was that West Point had incorrectly discredited Hegseth.

Initially, ProPublica quoted West Point as stating, “According to the admissions office – Hegseth had not applied for admission to the U.S. Military Academy.”

After being pressed for clarification, West Point admitted: “A review of our records indicates that Mr. Peter Hegseth was offered admission to West Point in 1999 but did not attend West Point.”

West Point confirmed Hegseth had been offered admission for the class of 2023, issuing a statement to correct the record.

“An incorrect statement involving Mr. Hegseth’s admission to the United States Military Academy was released by an employee on December 10, 2024,” the academy said. “Upon further review of an achieved [sic] database, employees realized this statement was in error.”

The academy added it was taking “this situation very seriously” and issued an apology “for this administrative error.”

ProPublica’s failed attempt to smear Hegseth appeared to be part of a broader campaign aimed at thwarting his nomination as the next secretary of the Department of Defense.

Trump announced his decision to nominate Hegseth following his landslide victory in the 2024 presidential election. Despite relentless media attacks on Hegseth’s personal life, the president-elect has stood by his side.

“He will be a fantastic, high energy, Secretary of Defense,” Trump wrote on Truth Social earlier this month, later adding: “Pete is a WINNER, and there is nothing that can be done to change that!!!”

Al Sharpton Pocketed $1M in Bonuses from Nonprofit Tied to Kamala Scandal

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) MSNBC host Rev. Al Sharpton is yet again facing new criticism amid a report that revealed he awarded himself nearly $1 million in bonuses through his tax-exempt nonprofit, the National Action Network.

According to Fox News, Sharpton reported several compensation bonuses within his nonprofit that at times exceeded his base salary as evident in the non-profit’s tax filings.

In 2016, he paid himself $437,355 for “bonus & incentive compensation,” far more than his annual salary of $250,000. This practice seemingly began in 2014 when he granted himself $64,000.

In 2018, Sharpton received a bonus of $159,596, in addition to his $324,000 salary for that year. He also listed $563,352 in “other reportable compensation” that same year.

In 2021, he awarded himself a $278,503 bonus on top of his $348,174 salary, which amounted to 80 percent of his base pay. Over just seven years, Sharpton pocketed $940,053 in so-called compensation and bonuses.

It is not immediately clear whether such bonus practices are typical in other nonprofits. It is also unclear how often the IRS scrutinizes these generous bonuses.

Sharpton did not immediately respond to requests for comments from Fox News. However, this is not the first time Sharpton’s financial affairs have come under scrutiny.

In November, Sharpton came under fire after his non-profit accepted a $500,000 donation from Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign ahead of a soft interview he conducted with her.

These donations, which came in the form of two $250,000 donations, were made in September and October and only became public after Harris lost the 2024 election to President-elect Donald Trump.

The Washington Free Beacon reported that the Harris donation to Sharpton’s non-profits blindsided MSNBC. “MSNBC was unaware of the donations made to the National Action Network,” a spokesperson told the Free Beacon.

An unnamed current MSNBC employee rebuked Sharpton’s acceptance of the donations, calling the affairs “another level of nonsense” and straight up “weird.”

“Harris could have given Al Sharpton an interview, and it would have gone the same way. But what are you paying for? … There’s no way that this can’t seem weird,” the employee added. “Everybody knows who Al Sharpton is … but this feels like a bridge too far. A big bridge too far … This is not landing well. This has a bit of a dirty feel to it … These things happen and they don’t bounce around MSNBC all that much. Like people just don’t care.”

Alvin Bragg Fighting to Maintain Trump’s Conviction, Sentencing

(Headline USA) Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is fighting to maintain President-elect Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in the porn-star trial he oversaw, despite the fact that Trump will soon be retaking the White House and is likely to see the case suspended indefinitely without sentencing.

Judge Juan Merchan was forced to delay Trump’s sentencing in the Manhattan criminal case last month after Trump’s sweeping electoral victory.

Merchan must now decide whether to toss Trump’s 34 felony counts of falsifying business records altogether or delay the case until Trump is out of office.

In a filing this week, Bragg’s office acknowledged Trump cannot be sentenced as president because of presidential immunity, but argued Merchan has alternative legal options to make sure Trump is eventually sentenced and potentially imprisoned.

“President-elect immunity does not exist. And even after the inauguration, defendant’s temporary immunity as the sitting President will still not justify the extreme remedy of discarding the jury’s unanimous guilty verdict and wiping out the already-completed phases of this criminal proceeding,” the Tuesday court filing from Bragg’s office states.

Bragg’s office said the case could be delayed until after Trump leaves office.

“[N]o principle of immunity precludes further proceedings before defendant’s inauguration,” it continues. “And even if judgment has not been entered at the time of defendant’s inauguration, there is no legal barrier to deferring sentencing until after defendant’s term of office concludes.”

Bragg’s office argued that delaying Trump’s sentencing until after he leaves office in 2029 will exempt the upcoming president “from any immediate obligations in this case during his time in office, while at the same time respecting the public interest in upholding the rule of law and preserving the meaningful aspects of the criminal process that have already taken place.”

Trump spokesman Steven Chueng slammed the filing as “a pathetic attempt to salvage the remains of an unconstitutional and politically motivated hoax.”

The rule of law “demands that it be immediately dismissed, as President Trump must be allowed to continue the presidential transition process, and execute the vital duties of the presidency, unobstructed by the remains of this, or any other, witch hunt,” Cheung continued. “The sooner these cases end, the sooner our country can unite behind President Trump for the betterment of all Americans.”

Ron DeSantis Invites Daniel Penny to Florida after Acquittal

(Maire Clayton, Headline USA) Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said U.S. Marine Daniel Penny should go to the Sunshine State after being found not guilty in a New York City manslaughter trial.

The governor was responding to a Monday post that asked, “Now where does Daniel Penny go to get his life back?”

And the governor had the one word answer of “Florida.”

A Manhattan jury delivered the verdict Monday that cleared Penny of criminally negligent homicide in Jordan Neely’s death last year.

Shortly after the verdict, DeSantis took to social media and said he was happy with the outcome of the trial.

“The acquittal of Daniel Penny is clearly the just and correct verdict,” he began. “I must admit I was skeptical that a jury in New York City would reach a unanimous not guilty verdict, and the jury deserves credit for doing the right thing.”

Penny was later seen at a New York City bar with his two lawyers to celebrate the win in court.

His lawyer Thomas Kenniff said Penny will be looking forward to having his life back.

“He’ll be looking to resume, get his life back together,” Kenniff said. “[In a] situation like this, we savor victory, but all the harm that has been done to him just doesn’t vanish. That’s true of anyone who is falsely accused.”

Penny spoke with Fox News’s Judge Jeanine Pirro in his first interview since he was acquitted.

He told Pirro he felt compelled to intervene because of how erratic Neely was acting in the subway.

“The guilt I would’ve felt if someone did get hurt, if he did do what he was threatening to do, I would never be able to live with myself,” he stated. “And I’ll take a million court appearances and people calling me names and people hating me just to keep one of those people from getting hurt, or killed.”

Bernie Sanders Says This Next Term Will Likely Be His Last

(Headline USA) Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., revealed this week that he is finally eyeing retirement, adding that his forthcoming term in the U.S. Senate will likely be his last.

When asked about the decision, Sanders admitted his age is a big factor.

“I’m 83 now. I’ll be 89 when I get out of here. You can do the figuring,” he told Politico.

Sanders has served in Congress since 1991 and was initially elected to the House of Representatives. He is heading into his fourth term as a U.S. senator.

Throughout his career, Sanders helped move the Democratic Party to the left.

It’s unclear who will take up his mantle if he does decide to step down.

Asked if there are progressive leaders who share his vision for the future of the party, Sanders said, “Some do and some don’t. Dozens of them are really strong progressives who share my perspectives.”

The rest of the Democratic Party, however, is out of touch with the American public, Sanders argued, citing President-elect Donald Trump’s sweeping victory last month.

“The average American is hurting,” he said. “You’ve got to recognize the reality of what’s going on. And I’m not sure that enough Democrats are doing that.”

Sanders has even expressed an openness to working with Trump’s incoming administration, signaling support for some elements of Trump’s proposed Department of Government Efficiency.

In a post on X, Sanders admitted that tech billionaire Elon Musk, who along with former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will be spearheading DOGE, is “right” about the Pentagon’s financial mismanagement.

“The Pentagon, with a budget of $886 billion, just failed its 7th audit in a row. It’s lost track of billions,” Sanders wrote. “Last year, only 13 senators voted against the Military Industrial Complex and a defense budget full of waste and fraud. That must change.”

San Diego Votes to Become a ‘Super’ Sanctuary County

(Headline USA) San Diego County voted this week to make itself a “super” sanctuary district and block all county cooperation with federal immigration authorities, Newsweek reported.

The resolution, approved in a 3-1 vote by San Diego County’s board of supervisors, goes even farther than California’s existing sanctuary law, which limits state and local law enforcement’s cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The new policy will prevent the county from providing any assistance to ICE, “including by giving ICE agents access to individuals or allowing them to use county facilities for investigative interviews or other purposes, expending county time or resources responding to ICE inquiries or communicating with ICE regarding individuals’ incarceration status or release dates, or otherwise participating in any civil immigration enforcement activities.”

The resolution admits its primary purpose is to prevent the incoming Trump administration from being able to carry out mass deportations in the area.

“When federal immigration authorities, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and U.S. Border Patrol, coerce local law enforcement to carry out deportations, family members are separated and community trust in law enforcement and local government is destroyed,” the county said.

“Witnesses and victims who are undocumented or who have loved ones who are undocumented are afraid to come to the County for help, which includes calling local law enforcement,” it continued. “This puts the public safety of all San Diegans at risk.”

San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond, a Republican and the sole nay vote on the resolution, slammed his colleagues for sacrificing the public safety of San Diego residents.

“This reckless measure not only goes far beyond California’s already extreme sanctuary state laws but actively endangers our communities by shielding illegal immigrant criminals from deportation,” he said in a statement.

“Consider this: under this policy, law enforcement is prohibited from notifying ICE about individuals, in custody, who have committed violent and heinous crimes, including: rape and stalking, assault and battery, burglary, child abuse and more,” he added.

During the previous Trump administration, California jurisdictions including Los Angeles passed similar resolutions and then fought viciously in court as the federal government threatened to withdraw funding.

Border czar Tom Homan has said he is more than willing to flex the full force of the federal governenment in his effortst to uphold the law of the land, since illegal immigration is a problem that extends far beyond the borders of San Diego.
