Ahead of RFK’s Arrival, NIH Admits Fluoride in Drinking Water Lowers Kids’ IQs

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The National Institutes of Health is apparently getting on the same page as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who’s set to oversee the agency when he becomes the next head of the Department of Health and Human Services.

Kennedy has been outspoken about removing fluoride from the drinking water on the grounds that it may have negative impact on mental and physical health. On Monday, the NIH’s National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, or NIEHS, published a study that supports Kennedy’s position on the matter—finding “significant inverse associations between fluoride exposure and children’s IQ scores.”

According to the study, children’s IQ’s decreased by about 1.63 points for every per 1-mg/L increase in urinary fluoride. The studies underpinning the NIEH’s findings were conducted outside the U.S.

“There is concern that pregnant women and children are getting fluoride from many sources, and that their total fluoride exposure is too high and may affect fetal, infant and child neurodevelopment,” NIEHS epidemiologist Kyla Taylor, the report’s lead author, told the New York Times.

The NIEHS study follows a September order from a federal judge for the  U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to further regulate fluoride in drinking water because high levels could pose a risk to the intellectual development of children.

U.S. District Judge Edward Chen cautioned that it’s not certain that the amount of fluoride typically added to water is causing lower IQ in kids, but he concluded that mounting research points to an unreasonable risk that it could be. He ordered the EPA to take steps to lower that risk, but didn’t say what those measures should be.

Chen’s order was first time a federal judge has made a determination about the neurodevelopmental risks to children of the recommended U.S. water fluoride level, said Ashley Malin, a University of Florida researcher who has studied the effect of higher fluoride levels in pregnant women.

She called it “the most historic ruling in the U.S. fluoridation debate that we’ve ever seen.”

Federal Court Strikes Down Biden Admin’s Title IX Rewrite

(Brendan Carey, The Center Square) A federal court in Kentucky ruled Thursday that the Biden administration’s rulemaking expanding Title IX to include gender identity is “unlawful.”

The judgment from the United States District Court from the Eastern District of Kentucky sided with Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, West Virginia and private organizations and individuals. Critics of the rule lauded the court’s decisions.

Chief Judge Danny C. Reeves wrote in Thursday’s order that the administration’s final rule overstepped its congressionally given boundaries.

“Congress gave the Department authority to issue rules, regulations, and orders to effectuate Title IX’s prohibition on sex discrimination consistent with the objectives of the statute,” Reeves wrote. “However, the Department exceeded that authority in issuing the Final Rule and the text of Title IX shows why.

“Put simply, there is nothing in the text or statutory design of Title IX to suggest that discrimination ‘on the basis of sex’ means anything other than it has since Title IX’s inception–that recipients of federal funds under Title IX may not treat a person worse than another similarly-situated individual on the basis of the person’s sex, i.e., male or female,” Reeves wrote.

“As this Court and others have explained, expanding the meaning of ‘on the basis of sex’ to include ‘gender identity’ turns Title IX on its head,” Reeves wrote.

“While Title IX sought to level the playing field between men and women, it is rife with exceptions that allow males and females to be separated based on the enduring physical differences between the sexes,” Reeves said.

Reeves said that the final rule’s approach to locker rooms “does not make sense.”

“Confirming the arbitrary nature of these new regulations, the Department has offered no rational explanation for the stark inconsistencies that will result if the Final Rule is allowed to go forward,” the judge wrote.

The court also said the rule violates the First Amendment because “the Final Rule’s definitions of sex discrimination and sex-based harassment … require Title IX recipients, including teachers, to use names and pronouns associated with a student’s asserted gender identity.”

“The Final Rule also is vague and overbroad,” Reeves wrote. “As the Court explained previously, several of the terms used in this regulation are so vague that recipients of Title IX funds have no way of predicting what conduct will violate the law.”

ABC Debate Moderator Who Fake ‘Fact Checked’ Trump Caught Using Clothespins on Fire Jacket

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) ABC News anchor David Muir—the debate moderator who infamously bickered with future President-elect Donald Trump in September—was caught using clothespins to make his fire jacket appear custom-tailored while covering the California wildfires.

Former acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell, one of the Pacific Palisades residents who was displaced by the raging inferno, wrote that Muir was “pathetic” after a viral clip showed him briefly turn to the side during Wednesday’s broadcast, exposing the clothespins that held his clothes tight to his body.

Conservative pundit Mike Cernovich called Muir a “makeup wearing mofo,” suggesting the “snacky” reporter was more concerned with his looks than the devastation surrounding him.

Social-media influencer Paul A. Szypula wrote, “Just in case your opinion of @DavidMuir wasn’t already low enough” after accusing him of trying to look “more svelte on camera.”

And Mollie Hemingway, editor-in-chief of The Federalist, revealed that Muir “reportedly is called ‘Zoolander’ at his gym because of his vanity”—a reference to the 2001 Ben Stiller comedy poking fun at flighty male fashion models.

During Trump’s only presidential debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, Muir and co-moderator Linsey Davis smugly “fact-checked” the Republican candidate repeatedly, including over points where their information was later proven to be inaccurate.

They likewise ignored blatant falsehoods and exaggerations from Harris, making it appear to uninformed viewers as though Trump were a serial liar and Harris were the voice of reason and stability.

However, evidence—including a sworn affidavit—emerged afterward exposing the fact that ABC News had colluded with Harris’s campaign to avoid asking her difficult questions and to only “fact check” Trump.

Although Muir brushed off the scandal as “noise,” the network saw its viewership drop significantly, and it eventually was forced to lay off at least 75 employees.

Trump, on the other hand, went on to win the election in a landslide, and he was further vindicated after ABC News settled an unrelated defamation lawsuit with him for $15 million over false claims made by anchor George Stephanopoulos.

Soon-to-be First Son Donald Trump Jr. was among those who weighed in on Muir’s latest display of fakery.

“David Muir, the supposed moderator of my father‘s presidential debate, who instead chose to be a participant, is so vain that as people in Los Angeles are losing everything, he used clothes pins to make his fake fireman’s jacket more form fitting,” Trump Jr. wrote. “Sick!”

Derek Chauvin’s Alleged Stabber Posing ‘Security Risk’ for Prison

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) In October, the inmate who allegedly stabbed former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin 22 times in a prison law library filed a grievance that he was being denied resources to prepare for his upcoming trial.

But according to the Central Arizona Florence Correctional Complex, where alleged Chauvin stabber John Turscak is incarcerated, the items that he seeks pose a security risk.

In a Dec. 24 filing, the private prison firm CoreCivic said Turscak is demanding two packages of file folders in multiple colors; one pack of different colored highlighters; one pack of see-through pens; four expandable file folders; two file boxes; one box rubber bands; one mini stapler with box of staples; one staple remover; two rolls Scotch tape; two Sharpie black permanent markers; one box of paper clips; one pair safety scissors; and a slew of other items.

Turscak also wants an online LexisNexis program to be “added” to his court ordered laptop.

Such items pose a significant security risk, CoreCivic said in a Dec. 24 filing.

“These items have sharp metal pieces that can be used to make weapons, inflict self-harm, or be fashioned into homemade tattoo guns; (d) Rubber Bands – these in combination with other plastic items and staples can be used to make dart guns utilizing staples, sharpened items, and pens,” K. Kline, the Warden of CoreCivic’s Central Arizona Florence Correctional Complex, said in a sworn affidavit.

“Scotch tape could be used to tape items to cell windows thus prohibiting staff from performing required safety/welfare checks and conceal observation of prohibited conduct, create ropes or other ligature, create tourniquets to inflict self-harm, and restrain himself or other detainees.”

CoreCivic further noted that Turscak is already authorized for up to six hours of use of his computer each day, as per a court order.

“If internet access is permitted, this will require CAFCC to place an officer on constant watch while Defendant used his computer, to make sure it is not used improperly,” the prison argued.

Warden Kline also noted that Turscak was disciplined twice last year for covering the window on his cell door.

Turscak has until Jan. 17 to respond to CoreCivic’s filing. The inmate’s trial is set to begin Feb. 18.

Tursack allegedly stabbed Chauvin at the Federal Correctional Institution, Tucson, a medium-security prison that has been plagued by security lapses and staffing shortages.

According to a 2001 article from the Los Angeles Times, Tursack is a former FBI informant who admitted to committing numerous crimes while working as an undercover FBI informant.

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) President-elect Donald Trump shared a laugh with former President Barack Obama on Thursday as they sat next to each other at a presidential funeral.

Vice President Kamala Harris appeared irate as the two politically opposed presidents set aside their differences to talk nice as they honored former President Jimmy Carter at the Northern Cathedral.

Harris, whose historic election loss isolated her from the “exclusive club” presidents Trump, Obama and Carter are part of, sat one row in front of her former opponent and the Democrat kingmaker.

Notably absent was Obama’s wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Trump’s wife, incoming First Lady Melania Trump, sat to the right of her husband at the end of their row. CNN reported that Obama’s wife had a “scheduling conflict” that left her stranded on vacation in Hawaii, which prevented her from attending the 39th president’s funeral.

Trump and Obama also shared a row with former President George W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

Social media users called the light moment “amazing” as others expressed curiosity as to what Trump and Obama discussed.

Some commenters joked that Trump was recalling the moment Obama told him he would never be president, while others praised the president-elect for his ability to speak cordially with his bitter rivals.

“This is proof that Trump knows how to talk to people, even people who hate him,” one X user wrote on the social media site.

Former Daily Wire host Brett Cooper called video of Harris’s entrance “art” and pointed out the failed presidential candidate “desperately wanting to know what Obama and Trump are talking about.”

“Pushing herself in front of her husband, clearly tension there, only to make him squeeze around her,” she observed.

Political commentator Benny Johnson credited “pure Christian virtue” for Trump’s ability to laugh about Obama “doing everything in his power” to destroy Trump.

Unable to get over her bitterness was the wife of Mike Pence, who remained seated as her husband stood to greet Trump. Video shows Karen Pence browse through a brochure as she disrespected the president-elect.

“They got to Mike Pence through his Karen wife didn’t they???” Trump supporter @Common_Cent1 guessed.

‘I Have Napalm’: Police Stop Suspect Trying to Burn Car Near US Capitol as Trump Was Inside

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Police reportedly stopped a Virginia man trying to burn a car outside the U.S. Capitol building Wednesday as President-elect Donald Trump visited Republican lawmakers and paid his respects to the late former President Jimmy Carter.

The 35-year-old suspect reportedly attempted to light his car on fire on First Street Northwest near the Grant Memorial, U.S. Capitol police said, according to NBC 4 Washington.

Police arrested the suspect after he ignited a bag on top of his vehicle, the outlet reported. The bag reportedly “extinguished itself” when officers rushed toward the suspect.

When asked what he was doing, the suspect reportedly told a grounds crew worker, “I have napalm and I’m trying to light it on fire.”

Although the vehicle was labeled “suspicious out of an abundance of caution,” according to the outlet, the USPC Hazardous Incident Response Division determined it not toe be dangerous around 7 p.m., police said.

The fire department and hazmat team were reportedly called to the scene following the incident, NBC 4 Washington reported.

Investigators said the car was spray painted over, according to the outlet. The suspect’s bag reportedly contained accelerants inside of it.

Trump and his wife, Melania, wore black on Wednesday as they solemnly paid their respects to Carter, who rest inside a U.S. flag-covered coffin at the U.S. Capitol.

The president-elect received booming applause when he entered a meeting with Republican senators during the same visit.

Trump said “it feels great” to be back in the U.S. Capitol during a brief interaction with reporters as he and his entourage entered the building.

Earlier on Wednesday, police reportedly arrested a 44-year-old man in possession of a machete and three other knives at a Capitol checkpoint. The suspect faces multiple charges of carrying a deadly weapon, according to NBC 4 Washington.

The attempted arsonist and the machete-wielding suspect are not believed to be connected, the outlet noted.

Victims Wounded in Butler Trump Shooting to Sue Numerous Law Enforcement Agencies

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Pennsylvania residents James Copenhaver and David Dutch, who were both severely wounded at the July 13 Butler rally, have sent letters to law enforcement agencies, signaling their intent to sue them over the security failures that led to their injuries.

“Butler Township received the letter on Dec. 26 from the New York law firm Speiser and Krause. The letter was a required notice of the men’s intention to file a suit,” the Butler Eagle reported Wednesday.

The letter was reportedly sent to Butler County, Butler Township, Washington County and a slew of other agencies that had a presence at the July 13 rally—where gunman Thomas Crooks allegedly nearly assassinated Donald Trump, killed firefighter Corey Comperatore, and sent Dutch and Copenhaver to the hospital.

“The notice lists numerous counties and individual municipalities in the region—apparently including the various SWAT teams and local police departments that composed those groups that were part of the security detail—as failing to protect the former president and bystanders,” local news outlet Observer-Reporter added.

Dutch and Copenhaver were standing at the backrow of the southern bleachers when shooting began. They later recounted what happened in an interview with NBC News.

“When I saw part of my sleeve go away and I heard ‘Psh’,” 74-year-old James Copenhaver told the news outlet in October. “I turned around to my friend and said, ‘I think I was shot.’”

He was right. In fact, he had been shot twice: once through the triceps and once in the abdomen.

David Dutch, who was standing about five feet to Copenhaver’s left at Butler, was shot once in the liver. He said it was “like getting hit with a sledgehammer right to the chest. I was there with chunks of bleacher and shrapnel flying all around until he finished firing.”

Copenhaver and Dutch were also taken to Allegheny General Hospital. David Dutch, 57, was released from on July 24. Copehaver was discharged two days later.

One of the would-be Trump assassin’s bullets remains lodged inside Copenhaver’s abdomen.

“It feels like someone is taking a cigarette and burning it right in the middle of my leg,” he said.

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, claimed on Wednesday’s episode of his podcast that President-elect Donald Trump and his billionaire ally Elon Musk forced a free speech U-turn on Meta’s social media platforms.

Mark Zuckerberg’s big tech company announced early Tuesday that it will get rid of its fact-checkers, which executives admitted led to political censorship, on Facebook and Instagram.

After Meta moved to replace its biased fact-checkers with a “Community Notes” system like on Musk’s X, Cruz credited Trump, who was banned for years on Zuckerberg’s social media platforms, and Musk, who reformed Twitter, for the company’s changes.

“Facebook has been a very bad actor. They have engaged in rampant censorship of conservatives,” he said, noting the company’s crackdown on COVID-19 skeptics and Hunter Biden laptop story.

Meta Chief Global Affairs Officer Joel Kaplan confirmed Tuesday on Fox News that the Biden administration put “a lot of pressure” on Facebook and Instagram to censor COVID-19 “humor and satire.”

Cruz called Meta’s past behavior on free speech “quite terrible,” but said he has “some degree of hope” for the future.

“Number one, you said they’re kissing up to Trump. That’s clearly true,” the senator said. “And we’re seeing all across corporate America. Corporate America freaking out, recognizing that Trump was coming back in the White House with a Republican Senate, a Republican House, and we’re seeing corporate America at least saying they’re changing paths.”

Since Trump won a second term, Big Tech CEOs from companies including Amazon, Apple and OpenAI donated six figures to the Republican’s inauguration fund and met with him at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

“I think that is a real driver here. That Facebook finally realized that there was a new sheriff in town and that they were on the wrong side of things,” Cruz said.

The senator added that Musk’s success in buying Twitter in 2022 and rebranding it as X was a massive dynamic contributing to the changes he discussed.

“Twitter has now become the public square. Because Elon stopped censoring and allowing people to speak, the pressure put on Facebook and other platforms is enormous,” he told his Verdict listeners.

Cruz called Meta kowtowing to the incoming Trump administration “the consequence of competition from X via Elon Musk.”

“For the past decade, Big Tech has been far too eager to censor and silence. I hope that Meta will now join X in fighting to protect free speech for everyone,” Cruz said.

The New York Times reported Thursday that President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural committee is no longer selling tickets for major donors to attend his Jan. 20 swearing-in and a slew of private events in DC.

Citing five unnamed people briefed on the conversations, the Times reported that committee has raised over $170 million and is quickly approaching $200 million. In 2017, by comparison, the committee raised $107 million.

“The haul is so big that some seven-figure donors have been placed on wait lists or have been told they probably will not receive V.I.P. tickets at all because the events are at capacity,” the Times reported.

“Prospective donors began to be told early this week that no more seats were available for certain events around Washington … The personalized donation link that fund-raisers had circulated to their networks of major contributors no longer worked on Tuesday and Wednesday,” the Times added.

“The packages offered to corporate and individual donors had originally been marketed as available through Friday, but they ended early given the extraordinary demand.”

According to the Times, some donors are offering donations as high as $1 million without receiving anything in return.

“Seats at the inaugural address, tickets to the ritzy balls or access to other events are typically a major part of why major donors cut checks. Inaugural events are a key time for the lobbying industry, and they draw donations from corporations and wealthy donors eager to gain influence or make amends with a new administration,” the newspaper explained.

The Times noted that the major uptick in donations marks a cultural shift ahead of Trump’s second term. Instead of trying to lead the “resistance” against Trump, the U.S. wealthy elite is embracing him in an attempt to curry favor—as demonstrated by Meta’s recent decision to get rid of its politically biased fact-checkers for Facebook and Instagram.

The Times reported that the leftover money from the inauguration festivities is likely to be spent on the eventual Trump presidential library.

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., was under fire Wednesday after he said victims of his state’s wildfires who ran out of water should “figure that out” on their own.

“Nanny state” Newsom, a proponent of big government solutions, enraged Americans when he told CNN’s Anderson Cooper, “Local folks are gonna figure that out,” when asked about fire hydrants depleted of water.

Incoming Trump administration Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted Newsom’s “reprehensible response.” She wrote on social media, “Newsom is to blame and he knows it,” adding that the “nervous” Democrat should resign.

Other X users called Newsom an “astounding asshole” for passing the burden of Los Angeles fires to local officials, including a mayor who jetted off to Africa after receiving fire warnings earlier in the week and a lesbian fire chief who prioritized diversity, equity and inclusion hires over fighting fires.

“I think they have figured out it’s time for new leadership,” one social media user wrote.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass appeared to freeze as reporters pelted her with questions Wednesday in video Headline USA could not independently confirm the authenticity of.

President-elect Donald Trump torched Newsom’s leftist policies from the U.S. Capitol following a meeting with GOP senators.

Earlier Wednesday, he made multiple posts on Truth Social about Newsom’s “disaster,” blaming environmental policies that prioritize the smelt, a small fish, over the lives of human beings.

The California governor appeared to be on the verge of tears as he responded to Trump’s comments from his burning state.

Newsom, who said he could not respond to Trump’s so-called “attack,” was told to “grow a pair” and fix his state as the pitiful news clip circulated social media.

Political commentator Gunther Eaglemann predicted Newsom would “use this travesty to further siphon money out of Californians.”

He mentioned the Democrat posing for photos, which X influencer Paul A. Szypula called “extremely transparent, staged, and offensive.”
