Trump Blasts Harris for FEMA Help to Migrants as Hurricane Budget Runs Low

(Casey Harper, The Center Square) The Biden–Harris administration took a tidal wave of criticism this week after U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told reporters that the Federal Emergency Management Administration did not have enough funds to cover the rest of this hurricane season.

Those comments drew criticism from Republican lawmakers, billionaire Elon Musk and President Donald Trump because FEMA has spent at least hundreds of millions of dollars on resettling migrants in the U.S. since President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office.

“The Biden-Harris Administration’s self-inflicted border crisis has wasted American taxpayer dollars on services for illegal immigrants and is now struggling to help Americans suffering in the wake of natural disasters like Hurricane Helene,” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., told The Center Square after it reported on the FEMA’s migrant spending.

FEMA is subject to DHS’ authority and under the Biden-Harris administration has been focused on helping the recent influx of more than 14 million migrants settle in the U.S.

As The Center Square previously reported, FEMA announced $640 million in new funding for helping migrants in April of this year, $300 million for “direct funding” to help immigrants, and $340 million for cities via grants to help migrants, part of a larger FEMA focus on resettling migrants in the U.S. under the Biden-Harris administration. These amounts don’t include FEMA tax dollars spent on migrant relocations earlier in Biden’s term.

“We are meeting the immediate needs with the money that we have,” Mayorkas told reporters earlier this week, adding that “FEMA does not have the funds to make it through the season” and that they expect another hurricane to hit.

The FEMA cash crunch for hurricane victims while FEMA has more than enough for migrants became a stark example of controversial prioritization in the Biden-Harris administration, which continues to take fire for its handling of the border crisis.

The FEMA example proved to have political utility amid the ongoing battle over illegal immigration in an election year.

“There’s nobody that’s handled a hurricane or storm worse than what they’re doing right now,” Trump said at a rally Thursday.

“Kamala spent all her FEMA money, billions of dollars, on housing for illegal migrants, many of whom should not be in our country,” Trump continued, exaggerating the figure.

The White house has strongly pushed back on Trump’s comments, calling them “false” and arguing that the funding sources for migrants and disaster relief come from separate sources.

Critics have argued it is a problem of mission drift at FEMA and prioritizing funding for migrants when disaster relief funding is running low, though Congress appropriates the funding in the first place.

A White House spokesperson told The Center Square that Hurricane Helene victims will be well taken care of and that there is no danger of running out of funds to help with this hurricane recovery.

“FEMA has what it needs for immediate response and recovery efforts,” said Director of Public Affairs and FEMA spokesperson Jaclyn Rothenberg. “As FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell has said, she has the full authority to spend against the President’s budget, but we’re not out of hurricane season yet so we need to keep a close eye on it. We may need to go back into immediate needs funding and we will be watching it closely.”

Critics online took issue with the $750 in emergency assistance for individual Helene victims touted by Harris, arguing it is not enough when so much money is going elsewhere.

A White House spokesperson told The Center Square that the $750 is just immediate assistance for victims and does not mean they will not receive more money to help with damage to their homes and other standard emergency assistance.

Critics argued FEMA has become distracted focusing on noncitizens because of the fallout of an unaddressed border crisis instead of American citizen storm victims.

“President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris must put Americans first and take action now to reverse their open borders policies that are bleeding Americans dry,” Comer told The Center Square.

Kamala Ad Features ‘Republican’ Who Hasn’t Voted GOP in Over a Decade

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The Harris campaign attempted to appeal to conservative voters with an ad featuring a former GOP official who hasn’t supported a Republican presidential ticket since 2012.

The ad, shared on X on Friday, highlighted Matthew McCaffery, a former member of the Pennsylvania-based Montgomery County Republican Committee, who was ousted from the party for his repeated criticism of President Donald Trump.

“More and more Republicans are coming out in support of [Vice President Kamala Haris],” the Democratic campaign claimed.

What they failed to mention is that McCaffery has consistently voted against Republicans in general elections since former President Barack Obama’s re-election in 2012.

While he supported Trump in the 2016 primaries, McCaffery confirmed that he ultimately voted for an independent candidate in the general election.

McCaffery shifted fully to supporting now-President Joe Biden in 2020 and now vows to vote for Harris in 2024.

“It’s kind of odd for me to even say, the Democratic party is becoming more of what I grew up knowing the Republican to be,” McCaffery claimed in a Philadelphia Inquirer interview released Wednesday.

McCaffery is a key figure in Harris’s “Republicans Against Trump” coalition, which has displayed billboards across the battleground of Pennsylvania.

His anti-Trump activism has been evident in several outlets, including an op-ed where he denounced Trump, as reported by the Inquirer.

He has also voiced his support for Harris on leftist network CNN and even made an appearance at the Democratic National Convention earlier this year.

Adding to his efforts, McCaffery was an active member of the “Haley Voters for Harris” group, which sought to persuade Nikki Haley supporters to back Harris.

“It’s going to be more of the same, and the middle class is going to suffer,” he stated in the ad. “Take it from me, I’m a lifelong Republican, I’m still a Republican. Kamala is trying to help the American people, especially the American middle class.”

FEMA Sets Up ‘Rumor Control’ After Facing Criticism from Americans

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) After receiving criticism from Americans, the Federal Emergency Management Agency set up “rumor control” to make different and uncomfortable facts sound absurd and conspiratorial.

Among those facts was that the agency prioritized illegal aliens over American citizens who were affected by Hurricane Helene.

On Thursday, FEMA posted on Twitter that some people spread “rumors” and “confusion.”

“There [have] been a lot of rumors spreading about the #Helene response. Rumors can create confusion & prevent people from getting [the] assistance they need,” FEMA wrote.

FEMA also provided a link to the webpage where the agency was “debunking” some rumors, such as that FEMA didn’t have money to support Americans whose lives were destroyed by Hurricane Helene.

Even though Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas previously said that the agency could not help American citizens because it lacked money, FEMA still lied to the public by saying that it had money.

“FEMA has enough money right now for immediate response and recovery needs. If you were affected by Helene, do not hesitate to apply for disaster assistance, as there is a variety of help available for different needs,” FEMA wrote.

The agency continued gaslighting people by claiming that it didn’t spend money on illegals. Headline USA previously reported that the agency gave away millions of dollars in taxpayers’ money to help people who are legally not even allowed to be inside the country.

“This is false. No money is being diverted from disaster response needs. FEMA’s disaster response efforts and individual assistance are funded through the Disaster Relief Fund, which is a dedicated fund for disaster efforts. Disaster Relief Fund money has not been diverted to other, non-disaster-related efforts,” FEMA wrote.

The agency also lied about the government giving only $750 to Americans, a slap in the face to those who suffered because of the hurricane that Headline USA also covered.

FEMA spokeswoman Jaclyn Rothenberg also published a thread on Twitter, writing about similar things.

Conservatives on Twitter quickly criticized FEMA in the comment section of the agency’s original Twitter post.

“Rumor: ‘FEMA is completely failing the people of NC and TN.’ Fact check: True,” @DC_Draino wrote.

MSNBC Admits Election Interference Publicly, Privately

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) MSNBC recently admitted publicly and privately that the network engages in election interference.

The private comments made by the network’s writer and producer, Basel Hamdan, were captured on hidden camera by one of the undercover journalists working for James O’Keefe of O’Keefe Media Group.

During the conversation, Hamdan said that MSNBC is doing everything possible to promote Kamala Harris during this election race, adding that the network is nothing more than a “mouthpiece” for the Democratic Party.

“The type of people who work in Democratic politics, and in the campaign, are a lot of the same type of people that would appear on air on MSNBC,” he told the undercover journalist. “It hammers home the point that I’m making: that this news network is indistinguishable from the party.”

Hamdan added that the far-left propaganda spewed by MSNBC not only made the network’s viewers hate conservatives and Republicans but also the dying breed, moderate Democrats.

He also noted that over the years, MSNBC made its viewers “dumber” because of its “bad journalism” that the network maintains to continue pushing the leftist propaganda paid by the Democratic Party.

“[MSNBC] should tell the truth from a progressive perspective, but they shouldn’t be tied to a political party. They just are way too cozy with Democratic politicians,” Hamdan said, adding that people who work for MSNBC and people who work in government agree with each other.

When the undercover journalist specifically asked about the network pushing Harris toward the finish line, Hamdan said that people at MSNBC are “doing all they can to help,” adding that the network has been “amplifying” Harris and “what her message of the day is.”

“Now I understand why @AymanMSNBCwas so afraid to debate me. I was wrong. [You’re] not a little boy. [You’re] a bought [and] paid for pu**y,” a former Republican candidate for Missouri’s Secretary of State Valentina Gomez wrote.

Others also criticized the network and pointed out that Hamdan prohibited most people from seeing his posts on Twitter.

MSNBC also publicly admitted that there would be election interference very soon unless the Harris-Walz campaign decides to “do better” with “old white men” and “Hispanics.”

However, it is not breaking news for anyone that MSNBC is doing everything possible to make Harris look electable. Headline USA reported multiple times on how the network was showing Harris positively.

Longshoremen Union Pauses Strike Until After Election to Help Kamala

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The International Longshoremen’s Association recently paused its strike until after the 2024 election day to help the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, ruining one of the October surprises.

Politico reported that the ILA, which represents tens of thousands of East Coast dockworkers and the shipping industry, announced on Thursday that the union reached an agreement on wages with the Biden-Harris administration and extended an expired contract through Jan. 15, 2025.

The leftist news source admitted that the recent decision would help Democrats, in general, and Harris’s campaign, in particular.

“That outcome defuses a political time bomb for Democrats, especially Vice President Kamala Harris, who needs all the union support she can get but could not afford a prolonged strike that would have soured voters on the economy,” Politico wrote.

On the same day, the ILA posted a statement on its official Facebook page stating that the strike had been postponed until the beginning of the following year.

“Effective immediately, all current job actions will cease and all work covered by the Master Contract will resume,” the ILA wrote.

However, the union leaders didn’t bother asking the workers whether they wanted to postpone the strike. A Fox Business reporter asked the union workers if any people among them supported Harris, and nobody raised their hands.

The news came after the ILA’s president and chief negotiator, Harold Daggett, a man who lives in a mansion, threatened Americans by saying that the strike would continue until the entire system agreed to all of the union’s demands.

“These people today don’t know what a strike is. When my men hit the streets, from Maine to Texas, every single port will lock down,” he said. “In today’s world, I’ll cripple you. I will cripple you, and you have no idea what that means. Nobody does.”

Soon after Daggett made his statement, the Biden-Harris administration supported the strike, with Harris claiming in her statement it was about “fairness.”

Living Large: Video Exposes Biden Migrants’ Lavish Lifestyle on Taxpayer Dime

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Some of the foreign nationals paroled into the U.S. by the Biden-Harris administration appear to be living in taxpayer-funded luxury apartments in Maine, according to newly released footage from Friday.

The video, recorded by Turning Point USA journalist Savanah Hernandez for the Frontlines series, suggests that American taxpayers are footing the bill for fully furnished apartments in Brunswick, Maine, allocated to these individuals.

Footage from one of the apartments shows furniture, rugs, a flat-screen television, an air conditioner and what appear to be brand-new appliances—all allegedly paid for by Americans.

These individuals—not labeled as illegal aliens by the left due to receiving social security numbers from the federal government—seem to enjoy two years of rent- and utility-free housing.

“How much is rent here?” asked a reporter, his voice distorted. “Free—two years, two years,” an unidentified man responded.

Another woman, whose face was blurred out, explained how the alleged taxpayer-funded housing assistance works. “After two years, we have to pay the rent,” she explained from what seemed to be one of the apartments.

In another video cut, she clarified, “Everything is included. We don’t pay anything.”

Hernandez also pointed out that Brunswick is located in a county that received over $5 million in aid from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

FEMA is currently facing criticism for allocating most of its budget to assist illegal immigrants and foreign nationals.

“This is why I wanted to come up to Brunswick because I wanted to show you guys a comparison how the federal government is treating American citizens versus illegal immigrants and migrants in this country,” Hernandez said.

Later in the video, Hernandez interviewed several “African migrants,” who expressed their satisfaction with living in Maine.

The video is part of Hernandez’s ongoing work to expose rampant government waste on illegal immigration—one of the top issues for Americans ahead of the November election.

Biden Refuses to Guarantee a Peaceful, Non-Violent Election

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President Joe Biden claimed on Friday that he could not guarantee that the 2024 presidential election would be conducted peacefully, cynically hinting at a worst-case scenario in the race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

“I’m confident it will be free and fair. I don’t know whether it will be peaceful,” Biden said during his first-ever press briefing, responding to an NPR reporter.

Biden pointed fingers at former President Donald Trump, claiming that his past comments “last time out when he didn’t like the outcome of the election were very dangerous.”

Biden’s comments are at odds with his current position as commander-in-chief, where he holds the authority to deploy the National Guard to quell any potential election-related violence.

Moreover, Biden’s accusations against Trump came less than a month after the former president escaped an assassination attempt at his West Palm Beach golf course, marking the second attempt after narrowly avoiding bullets aimed at his head on July 13.

Biden also hypocritically, and falsely, raised alarms about Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance, supposedly not pledging to “accept the outcome of the election.”

He claimed that Vance had not “even accepted the outcome of the last election. So I’m concerned about what they’re going to do.”

These claims are demonstrably false as in the CBS News debate on Tuesday, Vance stated that if he lost the election, he would pray for his opponent and is “on board” with accepting the results.

In the same debate, Vance called out Democrats for refusing to accept Trump’s 2016 victory over Hillary Clinton, the twice-failed presidential candidate. Biden conveniently made no mention of these facts on Friday.

“We have to remember that for years in this country, Democrats protested the results of the election,” Vance said at the debate. “Hillary Clinton in 2016 said that Donald Trump had the election stolen by Vladimir Putin because the Russians bought like $500,000 worth of Facebook ads.”

Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are locked in a battle for the White House, with this race expected to be one of the closest in recent history.

Vance Goes Viral for Baby Blues, ‘Office’ Face During VP Debate

(Maire Clayton, Headline USA) Even mainstream-media pundits begrudgingly praised Ohio Sen. JD Vance for his success during Tuesday’s vice-presidential debate.

Performance-wise, Vance came across as composed and polished. However, he also appeared to win over a few new supporters for his physical appearance.

X users could not get enough of Vance’s “sparkling blue eyes” during the 90-minute debate against Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Investigative journalist Laura Loomer reposted a TikTok video on X showing a gay male professing his newfound crush on Vance and how he felt pierced by his blue eyes.

“JD Vance did such a great job during the debate, he has gay liberal men out here about to vote for Trump,” Loomer wrote. “You love to see it.”

Another user added, “I’m not gay but JD Vance blue eyes getting me.”

While Vance’s eyes were a hot topic of the night, the Hillbilly Elegy author’s facial expressions sparked comparisons to The Office character Jim Halpert (John Krasinski)—who, like Vance, often broke the fourth wall by gazing knowingly into the camera.

The Daily Caller posted a compilation set to the theme song of the popular mockumentary TV show.

Vance addressed The Office comparisons Thursday while appearing on “The Ruthless Podcast.”

He revealed that while he wished he could take credit for his facial reaction, he was actually just “looking at the timer,” which happened to be located right by the camera. (7min)

“I was trying to you know, pay attention to what [Walz is] saying, but then you have to be ready for when his time’s up because then it’s your turn to speak,” Walz stated.

“It spawned a million viral memes,” Vance said as he laughed. “So I’m glad they did it like that.”

The potential vice president added he was “nervous as hell” during the debate and realized he only did a good job when he saw his wife, Usha, joined him onstage immediately following the conclusion of the night’s political discourse.

“Usha doesn’t lie to me, and her face especially doesn’t lie to me,” Vance noted. “And I knew that minute that we had a very good debate.” (5:20min)

Biden Outrageously Declares Suffering Hurricane Victims Are ‘Happy Across the Board’

(Headline USA) In a bizarre and unsettling exchange even for the addled 81-year-old, President Joe Biden brushed off criticism of his administration’s response to Hurricane Helene by insisting that victims of the devastating storm were “very happy across the board,” Newsweek reported.

Biden made the comment to reporters on Thursday after visiting some of the affected towns in Florida and Georgia.

“What do the states in the storm zone—what do they need after what you saw today?” a reporter asked.

Biden at first seemed confused about what the reporter was talking about, noting he was “wondering what storm you’re talking about.”

He then claimed: “They’re getting everything they need. And they’re very happy across the board.”

Though some officials in states hit the hardest by Hurricane Helene, such as North Carolina’s Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper, have claimed the Biden administration has been responsive in the storm’s aftermath, the administration has been widely panned for being unprepared.

Critics specifically have called out Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, whose agency oversees the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, blasted the Biden administration’s slow response, saying in a statement on Tuesday that he was “outraged” Biden had only designated 11 of Georgia’s counties as eligible for emergency federal aid.

“We spoke to the president’s chief of staff, the FEMA administrator and said, ‘Look, you’re sending the signal that you’re not paying attention to some of these rural communities,’” Kemp said.

Mayorkas this week admitted FEMA allegedly was running out of hurricane relief funds—after the agency spent more than $1 billion in assistance for illegal immigrants.

And Buttigieg tried to shoot down private citizens’ efforts to provide relief to hurricane victims.

“Drone pilots: Do not fly your drone near or around rescue and recovery efforts for Hurricane Helene,” the Transportation Department said on social media. “Interfering with emergency response operations impacts search and rescue operations on the ground.”

As Kamala’s 2-Month Campaign Loses Shine, Obama Tries to Drag It Across Finish Line

(Headline USA) Former President Barack Obama is preparing a campaign blitz for Vice President Kamala Harris in the swing states over the next month.

Obama, who endorsed Harris in July after allegedly working with other top Democratic leaders to push President Joe Biden off the top of the 2024 ticket, will kick off his swing-state tour in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, next week. The state is seen by both Harris’s campaign and former President Donald Trump’s as critical.

“President Obama believes the stakes of this election could not be more consequential, and that is why he is doing everything he can to help elect Vice President Harris, Governor Walz and Democrats across the country,” said Eric Schultz, a senior adviser to Obama, according to CNN. “His goals are to win the White House, keep the U.S. Senate, and take back the House of Representatives.”

Democrats are widely expected to lose the Senate by at least one or two seats, with closely fought races in several swing states, including in Pennsylvania, where centrist GOP businessman David McCormick is hoping to unseat Democrat incumbent Bob Casey.

An enthusiasm gap for the top of the ticket could drag down Democrat voters in the down-ballot races, as well.

Schultz admitted that “many of these races,” including the presidential race between Harris and Trump, “are likely to go down to the wire and nothing should be taken for granted.”

Obama praised Harris during the Democratic National Convention in July, insisting she was “ready for the job” of the presidency.

“This is a person who has spent her life fighting on behalf of people who need a voice and a champion,” he claimed.

“Kamala wasn’t born into privilege,” Obama continued. “She had to work for what she’s got, and she actually cares about what other people are going through.”

Harris’s mother, a cancer researcher, reportedly met her father, a Marxist economist, while the two were both students at the elite University of California, Berkeley.

A recent survey of the swing states showed 47% of respondents believe Trump has more experience to deal with the nation’s current issues, while just 21% said Harris was more seasoned.

On the issue of immigration, specifically, 48% of battleground voters said they preferred Trump, compared to just 33% for Harris. And on the economy, 43% favored Trump, with just 37% choosing Harris.

Obama has not yet publicly campaigned for Harris, though he has held private fundraisers on her behalf. Just last month, he headlined a dinner that raised $4 million, according to Schultz.
