Biden-Harris Admin. May Use Afghans to Stop Trump

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Recent polling data from different sources showed that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump may win the 2024 election even with Democrats meddling, which means that the Left could just stop Trump from ever stepping into the Oval Office.

Trending Politics recently reported that the FBI arrested Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, a 27-year-old Afghan man, who planned an Election Day attack on crowded areas.

National correspondent for Fox News Bill Melugin reported that, according to the FBI, Tawhedi entered the United States on Sept. 9, 2021, “on a special immigrant visa, days after the disastrous U.S. Afghan withdrawal, and currently has parole status.”

“The FBI has a has a photo allegedly from his iPhone they say depicts him describing to his daughter and another child ‘the rewards a martyr receives in the afterlife,'” Melugin wrote.

A podcaster and former FBI agent, Kyle Seraphin, responded to Melugin’s post by stating that the FBI orchestrated the event.

“The FBI created this situation, talked the subject into his attack, gave him the weapons, and arrested him on the site of the handoff. No one was in danger. Period,” he wrote.

When people asked him in the comments section why the FBI would do something like this and then put the man behind bars, Seraphin wrote that it was made to justify their budget.

In the comments section under Melugin’s post, people rhetorically asked how many of these kinds of people are already inside the U.S. because of Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris’s wide-open border policy, obviously implying that there are many violent illegal aliens already inside the country.

“Democrats used the Afghanistan disaster as an excuse to bring tens of thousands of unvetted people into the U.S.,” @wirraone wrote.

On Sept. 1, 2021, former White House press secretary Jen Paski gaslighted Americans by saying that Afghan refugees are properly vetted.

“I can absolutely assure you that no one is coming into the United States of America who has not been through a thorough screening and background check process,” she said.

The truth, however, is different. Joe Biden and Harris reportedly paroled approximately 77,000 into the U.S.

News websites like Townhall also reported in 2021 that the Biden-Harris administration stopped vetting people from Afghanistan. Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell also admitted that the administration’s vetting process of Afghans is non-existent.

The reason why Biden and Harris would allow potential terrorists to come to this country was because they didn’t want to guarantee a peaceful and non-violent election.

“I’m confident it’ll be free and fair. I don’t know whether it will be peaceful,” Biden said.

Univ. of Kansas Gut-Class Teacher Calls for Trump Voters to Be Shot

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) University of Kansas lecturer Phillip W. Lowcock called for Trump voters to be shot during an escalatory rant earlier this semester, video uncovered from his classroom showed.

Lowcock, whose official title was director of international student–athlete support, taught a course in the health sport & exercise science department “taken by a majority of freshman student–athletes,” according to the New American.

In the video, which appears to be from a lecture about the differences in men’s and women’s sleep cycles, Lowcock complains to his students about men refusing to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.

He begins his rant by saying those who believe men are smarter than women “got some serious problems.”

Apropos of nothing, he then delves into his frustration over the current political landscape, claiming sexism alone is to blame for any perceptions that Harris lacks the necessary intellectual acumen to lead the country.

“There are going to be some males in our society who will refuse to vote for a potential female present because they don’t think females are smart enough to be president,” Lowcock claims, without citing any specific evidence or research.

Video then shows Lowcock frantically gesticulating and pacing around as he flatly introduces his call for violence.

“We could line all those guys up and shoot them if they clearly don’t understand the way the world works,” he suggests.

“Did I say that? Scratch that from the recording,” he continues. “I don’t want the deans hearing that I said that.”

Lowcock was placed on administrative leave, the university confirmed in a statement on X.

“The instructor offers his sincerest apologies and deeply regrets the situation,” said the statement.

“His intent was to emphasize his advocacy for women’s rights and equality, and he recognizes he did a very poor job of doing so,” it added. “The university has an established process for situations like this and will follow that process.”

Lowcock allegedly gave “extremely easy” assignments and “made class very uncomfortable sometimes” with sexual jokes, a former student wrote in a review on Rate My Professors.

Kamala’s Hot Mic Catches Flunkies Feeding Her Questions During Hurricane ‘Live Broadcast’

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris was heard talking to an apparent aide before asking a question Wednesday during her joint Hurricane Milton response briefing with President Joe Biden.

The Democrat nominee’s open mic caught Harris saying “live broadcast” as she covered her mouth with interlaced fingers.

As soon as National Weather Service Director Ken Graham finished speaking about the storm, Harris then dropped her hands and said, “Hey Ken, I have a question for you. You mentioned words matter and, um, I know there’s a lot of media following this briefing…”

Harris then asked Graham about false perceptions that Hurricane Milton was not as dangerous because it had been downgraded from a Category 5 to a Category 4 storm, according to C-SPAN footage.

The Trump campaign quickly posted the clip of Harris’s latest gaffe on X, calling her “a total fraud.”

Social media users accused Harris of being fed questions to ask in the briefing.

“Kamala Harris is currently getting briefed on Hurricane Milton and got caught in 4k telling her handlers ‘it’s a live broadcast’ while being fed the questions to ask. LMAO,” wrote former Daily Caller social-media editor Greg Price.

Another X user, @stayingsaneusa, joked that Harris was “really slick” for covering her face as she spoke.

“If you need MORE proof Kamala is merely an incompetent puppet, here it is,” wrote conservative journalist Nick Sortor.

“When you realize what a fraud this woman is, you can’t unsee it,” noted Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

Harris is no stranger to struggling with words. The Democratic nominee awkwardly repeated the phrase “32 days” Friday at a Michigan rally when her teleprompter stopped working.

Social media users also accused Harris of wearing Nova H1 audio earphones during her Sept. 10 ABC News debate against Republican opponent Donald Trump, which various left-leaning media outlets dismissed as a right-wing “false claim.”

Washed-Up Chris Wallace Trashes Fox, Claims CNN Is ‘on the Center’

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Former Fox News host Chris Wallace lashed out against his former network in an unhinged Press Club interview that accused the right-leaning network of “conspiracy and lies” while seeming overly generous toward his current employer, CNN, Mediaite reported.

Wallace, the son of revered CBS News standard-bearer Mike Wallace, has now spent approximately five decades in the media industry, holding positions at NBC, ABC and Fox before taking up his current post at CNN in 2021.

Nonetheless, he has failed to escape the long shadow cast by his famous dad—who rarely, if ever, tipped his hand as to his own political inclinations.

The younger Wallace, as the longtime host of Fox News Sunday, managed to surpress his leftist tendencies under a facade of what many assumed was objectivity to compensate for Fox’s right-leaning tendencies.

But his exit from the network following the 2020 election revealed just how out of touch he was with the prevailing public attitudes.

“I had no problem with conservative opinion any more than I do with liberal opinion,” Wallace claimed in his interview with Mediaite editor-in-chief Aidan McLaughlin.

However, as the self-declared arbiter of “truth,” Wallace suggested it was up to him alone to determine what the acceptable views were within those two categories.

“The truth is non-negotiable,” he decreed.

Wallace said Fox’s support for then-President Donald Trump through the highly contentious 2020 vote-counting process, and lingering skepticism over the legitimacy of President Joe Biden, were “horrifying” to him.

As a result, the legacy-media veteran said that he was “glad” to see that Fox News was “paying for playing with the truth” following the network’s $787.5 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems.

It is unclear how much Fox News actually lost in the settlement. BlackRock—a company that holds financial stake in Dominion-linked CrowdStrike (although, as leftist media have emphatically pointed out, it holds no stake in Dominion itself)—bought up a significant interest in Fox just prior to the settlement.

The acquisition suggests the multi-trillion-dollar left-wing investment brokerage, notorious for its ESG practices, may simply have laundered money through the lawsuit from one of its companies to another for the purpose of manipulating public perception into thinking Fox had admitted to false reporting.

Nonetheless, for Wallace, who suffered public humilation when his job was downsized shortly after his arrival at CNN, the lawfare defeat offered sweet vindication to his sour grapes.

Wallace also slammed fellow former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson—who was mysteriously fired by Fox shortly after the Dominion settlement—for his pursuit of “fame, attention, notoriety.”

Comparing himself to Carlson, Wallace claimed, “I want to tell the truth. I want to inform people.”

It was the latest salvo in what has become a bitter grudge between the former colleagues.

In an interview that smashed viewership records on Twitter, Carlson and Trump swapped barbs about Wallace, with Carlson calling him a “bitchy little man.”

Ultimately, Wallace said he was better off at CNN than at Fox because he felt more at home with fellow moderates like Jim Acosta, Jake Tapper and Brian Stelter as the network strives to fortify democracy ahead of the 2024 election.

“Fox on the right, MSNBC on the left, CNN is somewhere in the center and very happily so,” he claimed.

Wallace’s optimistic comments come despite financial turmoil at the struggling media giant. The company spent the summer cutting departments, slashing budgets and laying off employees.

But Wallace insisted that CNN makes “a lot of money” even though it routinely underperforms in ratings.

Melania Slams Dems for ‘Toxic’ Rhetoric on ‘The Five’

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Former First Lady Melania Trump called out Democrats for the “toxic” rhetoric about her almost-assassinated husband, Donald Trump, during a Tuesday appearance on Fox News’s The Five.

The GOP nominee’s wife told the popular prime-time panel on the nation’s top-ranked cable-news network that Democrats who said her husband is “a threat to democracy” were the real danger to the U.S.

“Are you worried about your husband’s safety in the next 29 days?” co-host Jeanine Pirro asked the Slovenia native, who is reportedly fluent in five languages.

“Of course I do. Yes, I do,” she said. “I think, you know, when they call him a threat to democracy, let’s ask ourselves, who’s really a threat to democracy?”

She told The Five co-hosts that the Democratic Party’s weaponization of the law, repeated attempts to remove Trump from the ballot and efforts to “silence him” were the true reason for fear.

Although the sentencing in his Manhattan porn-star trial—and any further litigation for lawfare cases in Washington, D.C., and Fulton County, Ga.—all have been deferred until after the Nov. 5 election, Trump remains under partial gag order in some of the cases that prevents him from discussing key participants, including the prosecutors or the judge, Reuters reported.

Meanwhile, special prosecutor Jack Smith and D.C. District Judge Tanya Chutkan were recently slammed by CNN for their highly irregular inversion of the standard legal procedure in allowing the prosecution to file a lengthy pre-election brief, which Chutkan unsealed, that many took as an overt attempt at election interference.

“I was always afraid of what could happen—that they continue with that sort of language,” Melania Trump told The Five. “It is toxic, a toxic atmosphere.”

Even after a July 13 shooting that nearly killed the former president during a rally in Butler, Pa., and a second attempt on Trump’s life at his Palm Beach golf club.

On Tuesday, former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, a vicious NeverTrumper, told MSNBC that Trump is “dangerous to democracy” because he criticized the Biden–Harris administration’s response to Hurricane Helene.

The View co-host Ana Navarro recently ranted that Trump is an “existential threat to humanity and democracy” in what she characterized as an abnormal election cycle.

One day after the second assassination attempt, the Trump campaign released a list of dozens of Democrats who dialed up the rhetoric against him leading up to both attempts on his life.

“Thankfully, the would-be assassin was stopped by the heroic actions of law enforcement— but make no mistake, this psycho was egged on by the rhetoric and lies that have flowed from Kamala Harris, Democrats, and their Fake News allies for years,” the press release said.

The list included Vice President Kamala Harris asking if Trump had to “come out alive” if they were stuck in an elevator together; President Joe Biden saying, “it’s time to put Trump in a bullseye”; and Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., who previously led one of the impeachment attempts against the former president, saying Trump “has to be eliminated.”

Trump Says He Almost Reached Deal w/ Russia and China to Denuclearize

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Former President Donald Trump said on a podcast released Wednesday that he nearly reached a deal with China and Russia to denuclearize during his last presidency.

Speaking on the Flagrant podcast with comedian Andrew Schultz, Trump said the greatest threat to the world today is nuclear war—which is why he tried to reach a denuclearization deal with America’s two main rivals.

“The nuclear is the biggest threat we have in the world today. It’s not global warming, where the oceans are rising one-eighth of an inch over the next 500 years. The threat that we have, the biggest threat is nuclear war,” he said.

“Because it only takes one. There are five countries that now have capability, and soon there will be more. And I don’t think we should let there be more. And I was at a point—despite the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax … we were close to a deal for getting rid of nuclear weapons. It would be so good,” he said.

“We’re talking about Russia, ourselves and China. And then we’d then bring everyone else into it.”

Trump’s remarks seemed to surprise Schutlz, who asked him whether he meant that the U.S. would get rid of every single nuclear weapon.

“Denuclearize, yes. We were going to get rid of nuclear. Because it’s too powerful. It’s too much,” he said.

Trump then provided insight for why he views nuclear weapons as an existential threat. He said his uncle, MIT physics professor John Trump, would always warn him that someone will eventually be able to attack New York City with a suitcase nuke.

“He used to tell me, Donald, some day—it’s very dangerous—somebody will be able to carry a small briefcase into a building in New York and blow up the entire city,” Trump said.

“I said,’ You’ve got to be kidding me, Uncle John, that will never happen.’”

Schultz and the other interviewers didn’t question Trump further on his purported denuclearization deal, why it fell through, and whether he’ll pursue it again in his next presidency.

Trump’s administration was known for making historic progress on a potential deal with North Korea in 2018. “However, that deal was upended just one year later, after Trump resumed demands for complete denuclearization, driving North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un to abandon the talks,” the Libertarian Institute noted in a 2022 article on the subject.

Whistleblower: Secret Service Denying DHS Auditors Access to Trump Events

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) A Secret Service whistleblower has alleged that the agency is blocking Homeland Security auditors from accessing all of Donald Trump’s campaign events, in an attempt to hide the fact that Trump isn’t receiving sufficient protection.

The whistleblower’s disclosure was revealed by Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., on Tuesday in a letter he sent to Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe.

“A Secret Service whistleblower has alleged to my office that Secret Service headquarters blocked several auditors from the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General (OIG) from accessing recent Trump campaign events. The whistleblower alleges that the Secret Service denied access to DHS auditors because the former president is not receiving the full level of protective assets for all of his events, and Secret Service leadership wants to obscure or simply conceal this fact,” Hawley told Rowe.

“The whistleblower alleges Secret Service leadership is permitting OIG auditors only at select events—such as a recent rally in North Carolina where former President Trump receives the full level of protective assets, to create the impression he is receiving this level of protection at all times, when in fact he is not.”

Hawley pointed out that Rowe has claimed that Trump is receiving “the highest level of Secret Service protection” and that “he’s getting everything.” Hawley asked Rowe to confirm whether that’s actually true, and to respond to the whistleblower’s allegations.

Hawley’s letter comes about two weeks after Trump was forced  to cancel an outdoor rally set for the key battleground state of Wisconsin, due to the Secret Service denying him resources to secure the event. On the same night of Rowe’s remarks, his Secret Service secured a rally for Vice President Kamala Harris in Madison, Wisconsin.

According to a Secret Service whistleblower, the agency recently told the Trump campaign that it lacked sufficient assets to secure a potential campaign rally in Wisconsin for the former president.

Other whistleblowers allege that failure to provide protection for a major public event is highly unusual, and that a sitting president would never be denied resources in this way, according to a Sept. 24 letter from Hawley, who’s accused Rowe of election interference.

Sound Money Movement Chalks Up 7 State Legislative Victories in 2024

(Jp Cortez, Money Metals News Service) This year is shaping up to be one of the most legislatively successful in U.S. sound money history.

Money Metals Exchange was instrumental in achieving six new sound money victories… as well as one key defensive win. The upshot is that sound money legislation, carefully crafted and propelled by grassroots enthusiasm, is proving to be both practical and achievable.

The seven legislative successes, coming on the heels of five in 2023, range from new sales tax and income tax exemptions to policies that undermine the Federal Reserve’s problematic monopoly on money. Here’s the rundown…

Sales Taxes on Gold & Silver Nearing Extinction

Two states in 2024 decisively moved to eliminate sales taxes on gold and silver purchases, removing the primary friction that keeps people from exchanging fiat for constitutional money.

With their governors’ signatures this year, New Jersey and Wisconsin provided tax relief to their citizens and removed a major disincentive standing in the way of people using gold and silver as money.

Like every state, New Jersey and Wisconsin already did not charge a sales tax on other forms of investment, such as stocks, bonds, ETFs, and more. That is because typical investment assets are only taxed when sold if a capital gain is realized.

Taxing the purchase of the asset AND the asset’s capital gain is double-taxation – and has no moral justification.

Wisconsin’s ending of sales taxes on gold and silver was a significant milestone that only became a reality after years of effort by sound money advocates.

In Spring 2024, Gov. Tony Evers finally signed Assembly Bill 29 into law, eliminating sales taxes on precious metal purchases and joining the vast majority of other states that have already ended this tax.

House sponsor Shae Sortwell (R – Two Rivers) emphasized its importance: “By creating this sales tax exemption, gold and silver can once again be used in Wisconsin as the historical and constitutional currency it has been. A free people can once again possess and use a currency not subject to the whims and policies of the federal government and Federal Reserve, which have devalued (and certainly will again) your money through inflation.”

Meanwhile, New Jersey just joined the ranks of states that have passed such exemptions.

Senate Bill 721, sponsored by Majority Leader Assemblyman Louis Greenwald (D – 6) and Assemblywoman Lisa Swain (D – 38), was so popular that it did not receive a single “no” vote. The bill passed unanimously through multiple committees, 73-0 in the state Assembly and 40-0 in the state Senate.

As a top U.S. precious metals dealer and depository with hundreds of thousands of customers, Money Metals coordinated the messaging, grassroots organizing, testimony, and lobbying through its Sound Money Defense League project.

Ultimately, Gov. Murphy signed Senate Bill 721 into law last month, with an effective date of January 1, 2025.

However, a caveat within the coming New Jersey law doesn’t include purchases of coins below $1,000. Meaning there’s a “poor tax” on small-time savers and investors, undermining access to gold and silver among those who make more modest purchases of precious metals over time.

Meanwhile, the battle to enact a sale tax exemption in Kentucky led to a constitutional standoff between the Democrat governor and the Republican legislature.

Although the Kentucky state house and senate both voted overwhelmingly in favor of a bill to end sales taxes on gold and silver purchases, Gov. Andy Beshear has directed the state’s Department of Revenue to continue collecting the tax, claiming his attempted line-item veto was not a violation of the state constitution.

Beshear insulted every Kentucky family seeking protection from inflation by saving in gold, sneering, “If you own gold, you can afford to pay sales tax,” and he directed his Department of Revenue to prosecute any nonpayers.

For more information on the Kentucky constitutional standoff, click here.

With Kentucky’s sales precious metals sales tax in question, the Bluegrass State is counted among the five states that still collect this backward tax on money, along with Hawaii, New Mexico, Vermont, and Maine.

Nebraska and Alabama Eliminate Income Taxes on Gold and Silver

While almost every state in the country now has a sales tax exemption on purchases of gold and silver, abolishing income taxes on precious metals has come increasingly into focus.

After all, other than sales taxes, capital gains taxes are the biggest impediment in the way of restoring the historic role of gold and silver as money.

One of the most notable victories in 2024 was Alabama’s decision to eliminate income taxes on gains from the sale of gold and silver. Signed into law by Gov. Kay Ivey, Senate Bill 297 is the latest sound money bill enacted by the Yellowhammer State, having recently expanded its precious metals sales tax exemption in 2022.

Lawmakers in Alabama intend to introduce further measures in 2025.

In support of the Alabama bill, lead sponsor Rep. Jamie Kiel said, “Gold and silver are constitutional money. Point blank. It makes no sense to tax money, and I’m proud to stand up for the Alabama residents that are rightfully concerned about the Biden administration’s mismanagement of America’s finances and the U.S. Dollar.”

Moving from the Deep South to the Midwest, Nebraska also notched a sound money win with the passage of Legislative Bill 1317.

Signed into law by Gov. Jim Pillen, LB 1317 ended taxes on any gold and silver capital gains modified the definition of “bullion.” It also includes a provision that explicitly excludes a central bank digital currency (CBDC) from the state’s definition of money. The popular bill sailed unanimously out of Nebraska’s unicameral legislature, 49-0.

Meanwhile, U.S. Congressman Alex Mooney (R-WV) re-introduced the Monetary Metals Tax Neutrality Act to eliminate the federal capital gains tax on all gold and silver coins and bullion nationwide.

Utah and Louisiana Begin to Reestablish Gold’s Role as Money

Beyond taxes, states are passing measures that prompt state government investments in physical gold. Carried by Utah State Rep. Ken Ivory, House Bill 348 authorizes the state treasurer to invest a portion of funds in certain budget reserve accounts in precious metals.

Additionally, the measure calls for “a study analyzing the role of precious metals in augmenting, stabilizing, and ensuring the economic security and prosperity of the state, the families and residents of the state, and businesses in the state.”

In Louisiana, Gov. Jeff Landry signed Senate Bill 232 into law, reaffirming gold and silver as legal tender in the state. This symbolic victory reinforces the idea that gold and silver are money, even though there is no practical effect to the bill.

No States Rolled Back Prior Progress

Sadly, every year also brings attempts by tax-hungry legislators to repeal existing tax exemptions on precious metals, so the Sound Money Defense League must stay alert for these schemes.

After having signed a pro-sound money bill into law earlier in the year, lawmakers almost took a huge step backward in Nebraska by considering a measure that would have eliminated the Cornhusker State’s long-standing sales tax exemption on purchases of gold and silver.

Upon hearing the news, the Sound Money Defense League and other in-state advocates sprang into action. Shortly after, lawmakers removed the proposed tax from the bill draft being considered.

Stopping this foolish Nebraska bill dead in its tracks was a direct result of overwhelming grassroots pressure from Money Metals customers in Nebraska, who lit up the state house switchboard with angry calls and emails.

The 2024 legislative season highlights the formidable momentum that is building for sound money reforms. Gold and silver are being recognized not as mere investments but as money that can help reinforce economic stability, maintain purchasing power, and promote freedom.

With debt and inflation ravaging America – and the whole world — there is so much more work to be done.

Messing w/ Texas? Elon Musk Donates $1M to Anti-Paxton PAC

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) New campaign finance filings reveal that billionaire Elon Musk donated $1 million to the Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC—a political action committee that has long opposed the state’s attorney general, Ken Paxton, as well as other MAGA-leaning public officials.

The $1 million donation to the Texans for Lawsuit Reform PAC was made on Sept. 19 by the Elon Musk Revokable Trust, according to the filings, which track donations from July 1 through September.

Local media speculated that Musk’s donation was intended to shore up local support on the heels of his announcement of plans to move the headquarters of Twitter/X and SpaceX from California to Texas. Last year, Texans for Lawsuit Reform published an announcement supporting Musk’s plans, deeming them a result of Gov. Greg Abbott’s pro-business policies.

However, Texans for Lawsuit Reform has been known to have a contentious relationship with Trump allies, including Paxton. Notably, the group supported Republican Speaker Dade Phelan, who helped spearhead the failed impeachment efforts against Paxton last year.

Paxton blasted Texans for Lawsuit Reform in May.

“It was embarrassing to them, how much they spent, and the fact that they support somebody that got third place, almost last place, with a lot of money and a lot of their efforts,” he told the Texas Scorecard.

“But instead of making things good with me and trying to work things out in the future, they decided no, let’s work on this internal plot. Let’s do everything we can to take him out another way. The voters have spoken, but we don’t believe in what the voters have said.”

Texans for Lawsuit Reform, for its part, has repeatedly denied that it played a role in the failed impeachment drive against Paxton.

“TLR had nothing to do with the House investigation of Ken Paxton and did not even know of its existence until the House General Investigating Committee’s public hearing on May 24, 2023. Any assertions otherwise are a blatant attempt to distract from the facts of the articles of impeachment,” the group said last year, amidst the proceedings.

Musk wasn’t the only Trump supporter to donate to Texans for Lawsuit Reform. Miriam Adelson also contributed $500,000 on Sept. 20, the filings show.

Musk and Adelson’s contributions accounted for more than half of the $2.9 million Texans for Lawsuit Reform received in the latest quarter.

Bicycle Seen by Local Cop before Trump Shooting Did NOT Belong to Thomas Crooks

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) In the immediate wake of the July 13 assassination attempt on Donald Trump, pictures circulated online of a bicycle at the scene that was believed to belong to alleged gunman Thomas Crooks.

At the time, records showed that local sniper Greg Nicol photographed the bicycle because he saw Crooks “walking away” from it around 5:42 p.m., about 30 minutes before the shooting. And the New York Post reported that Crooks “rode his bicycle around the former president’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania — and ditched it in full view of cops and a crowd before he climbed on top of a roof and opened fire.”

Since then, questions remained about what happened to Crooks’s bicycle and how it fit into his plot.

However, a Secret Service agent working in the Trump Security Division recently told the Senate Homeland Security Committee that the bicycle didn’t, in fact, belong to Crooks.

According to a recently released interview transcript, the agent told the Senate committee that he investigated the bike himself.

“The owner of the bike and backpack actually walked up, and rightfully so—several law enforcement officers were rigging his bike to be destroyed … And he asked us what we were doing, and we asked him who he was,” said the agent, whose name is redacted

“And we interviewed him for about 30 minutes, specifically the bomb squad sergeant from Allegheny County, and I also held him for our agents to come out and interview him, to make sure he had no connection to the shooter, because at this point we don’t know if there are any secondary people,” the agent said.

“But to be on the safe side they held him, detained him, and he was released.”

The agent didn’t explain why law enforcement was going to destroy an ostensible piece of evidence from a presidential assassination attempt.

When questioned further, the agent said the backpack found near the bike also belonged to the same person.

The agent said he didn’t remember the bicycle owner’s name, and that any report on the matter would have been written by Allegheny County law enforcement.

The agent’s description of the bicycle investigation matches that of another agent captured on local police body camera. That agent said his colleague—likely the agent interviewed by the Senate committee—told him that the bicycle belonged to someone else.

“Our guy who was just up there said there’s a guy detained who’s the owner of the bike. I said, ‘No, [Crooks] owns the bike,’” the Secret Service agent said—it turns out, incorrectly—on the body camera.

The mistaken belief about the bicycle stems from the same law enforcement officers who left their posts inside the AGR building before Crooks opened fire. Those same cops also initially purported to have seen Crooks at 4:26 p.m.—more than 100 minutes before his attack—but it was later revealed that they saw someone else.
