(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President Donald Trump already has his sights set on the next federal agencies to be investigated by the Department of Government Efficiency. 

In a pre-Super Bowl interview on Fox News, Trump announced that DOGE, led by tech mogul Elon Musk, will next “go check” the Department of Education and the Department of Defense. 

“I’m going to tell him very soon… to go check the Department of Education,” Trump told Fox News host Brett Baier on Sunday.

He added, “He’s going to find the same thing. Then, I’m going to go into the military. Let’s check the military. We’re going to find billions, hundreds of billions of dollars of fraud and abuse, and the people elected me on that.”

This announcement comes just days after DOGE, with Trump’s approval, shut down USAID, a controversial federal agency that ignored the president’s orders to review its expenditures. 

In a viral showdown, USAID bureaucrats attempted to block DOGE representatives from accessing their Washington headquarters.  

The blockade was remarkable—an executive agency defying orders from the head of the executive branch. It exposed the recklessness of the federal bureaucracy.

Based on Trump’s earlier remarks, the Department of Education may face a similar fate as USAID—being shut down.

On Feb. 4, Trump told reporters that he wanted Linda McMahon, his pick for education secretary, to shut down the federal agency. 

“I told Linda, ‘Linda, I hope you do a great job and put yourself out of a job.’ I want her to put herself out of a job,” Trump said.

He cited a damning study showing that the U.S. did not rank significantly higher than other countries, despite spending more on education than any other nation.

FBI Agents Tip Off Illegal Aliens About Upcoming Deportation Raids in LA

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Holdovers from the Biden-led DOJ allegedly leaked sensitive information about a large-scale deportation operation in Los Angeles, likely tipping off illegal aliens in the region. 

Key details of the “large scale” ICE-led operations were leaked to the Los Angeles Times and subsequently published, exposing internal plans.  

According to the outlet, the raids were supposed to target foreign nationals with pending removal orders. The FBI and ATF were supposed to deploy agents to assist in the operations. 

While the LA Times did not specify who leaked the information, it quoted an anonymous “federal law enforcement” source who spoke on condition of anonymity “for fear of reprisals.” 

It is a federal crime to disclose national defense information to anyone who is not entitled to receive it. 

The source criticized the raids, claiming the Trump administration “needed more bodies” and asserting that the operation could falter due to what the source described as a “chaotic” nature of the Republican leadership. 

The source also suggested that FBI agents might refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement—an alarming scenario that could constitute dereliction of duty. 

“Just because certain information is being given doesn’t mean it’s the administration’s plan, because they know some agents are going to be resistant,” the source dismissed. 

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem quickly condemned the leak on X (formerly Twitter), pointing fingers at the FBI. 

“The FBI is so corrupt,” Noem said. “We will work with any and every agency to stop leaks and prosecute these crooked deep state agents to the fullest extent of the law.” 

This isn’t the first time sensitive immigration operation details have been leaked. White House border czar Tom Homan said that an ICE operation targeting members of the violent Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang in Colorado had been leaked earlier this week. 

The leaks allowed gang members to escape the apartment complexes they had allegedly seized months earlier. 

“We’re not going to tolerate it anymore. This is not a game,” Homan told Fox News. “When we show up at these sites, this is a dangerous job for the men and women of ICE and Border Patrol and all the DOJ agencies.” 

He added, “To have this type of interference puts our officers at great risk, not only the officers, it puts the aliens at great risk because anything can happen when we take our eyes off the goal here, so we’re addressing it immediately today.” 

Homan confirmed that the DOJ would prosecute the leakers if identified. 

These incidents are reminiscent of the Trump administration’s early days in 2017 when Obama-era holdovers repeatedly undermined the administration by leaking directives.

GOP Sen. Calls Out CBS’s Margaret Brennan in Latest Fact-Check Failure

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Margaret Brennan, the notoriously leftist CBS News anchor, strikes again. 

In what has become a near–weekly ritual, Brennan was once again fact-checked live on-air by a Republican guest—this time, Sen. Bill Hagerty, R-Tenn. Hagerty pushed back on Brennan’s claims about USAID, the now-defunct federal agency. 

During Sunday’s Face the Nation, Brennan unsuccessfully tried to counter Hagerty’s assertion that USAID had funneled taxpayer money to a Hamas-tied organization and funded sex-change procedures in Guatemala.  

Unsurprisingly, Brennan’s claims were unsubstantiated or misleading, to say the least. 

“USAID has been out of control,” Hagerty said, citing its funding of UNRWA, a U.N. agency accused of employing Hamas members in Gaza. 

“Now that we start to find out some of the programs that USAID has been funding you think about it: sex change operations in Guatemala, LGBTQ programs in Serbia. This is ridiculous,” Hagerty added. 

Brennan, in her usual dismissive tone, interrupted: “The U.S. government does not support sex change operations or fund Hamas. You know that, though.” 

“That is not true, Margaret!” Hagerty shot back. He recalled that former Secretary of State Antony Blinken failed to say that the U.S. did not fund Hamas through USAID. “He couldn’t do it,” he added.

Without offering any proof of her own claims, Brennan leaned on one of the left-wing media’s favorite lines: “Do you have any evidence the United States government is funding a terrorist group?” 

“Certainly,” Hagerty replied. “The funds that have gone to UNRWA—you saw the UNRWA members who were also members of Hamas…” 

Brennan conveniently pivoted instead of addressing Hagerty’s facts, “UNRWA is part of the United Nations.” 

Here are the facts: 

  1. USAID awarded $2 million in tax dollars to a Guatemalan group to “deliver gender-affirming health care, advocate for improved quality and access to services, and provide economic empowerment opportunities.” 
  1. The New York Times has admitted that so-called gender-affirming care “is an umbrella term that includes surgery as well as hormone therapy, counseling, hair removal and speech therapy.” 
  1. On Jan. 26, 2024, the Biden administration was forced to temporarily pause all U.S. funding to UNRWA after 12 of its members were implicated in Hamas’s brutal attack against Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. 

UNRWA “immediately” terminated the funding to those Hamas-linked employees and launched an internal investigation in what appeared to be a desperate attempt to save face. 

Brennan’s audience, however, would never hear these facts. Tellingly, she did not respond to Headline USA’s request for an interview before the publication of his story.

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A Republican member of the House sparked media attention after referring to Delaware’s at-large Rep. Sarah McBride—who self-identifies as transgender—as “a gentleman.” 

“The chair recognizes the gentleman from Delaware, Mr. McBride, for five minutes,” said Rep. Mary Miller, R-Ill., while presiding over House floor proceedings on Thursday. 

McBride, seemingly unbothered by Miller’s introduction, responded, “Thank you, Madam Speaker.” 

McBride’s colleague, Rep. Nanette Barragán, D-Calif., seemingly countered Miller’s remarks by referring to the GOP congresswoman as a male, saying, “Thank you, Mr. Speaker.” 

Miller doubled down on X, defending her introduction of McBride as a “gentleman.” 

“Today on the House Floor, I refused to deny biological reality,” Miller wrote on X. “President Trump restored biological truth in the Federal Government, and I refuse to perpetuate the lie that gender is open to our interpretation. It is not.” 

McBride was elected to the House of Representatives in November, becoming the first self-described transgender member of the chamber. 

McBride, a former Delaware state senator, was originally named Tim McBride but transitioned at the age of 21.  

In several cable news interviews, McBride touted being the first self-identified transgender member of Congress but clarified that top priorities went far beyond gender identity. 

“I think that folks know that I’m personally invested in equality as an LGBTQ person, but my priorities are going to be affordable child care, paid family medical leave, housing and health care, reproductive freedom,” McBride told CBS News before the November election. 

McBride dismissed the pronoun controversy on X, urging followers to watch the full House floor remarks. 

“FWIW, there’s an entire speech after I’m recognized by the acting speaker that’s worth a watch much more than the 15 second video of me being called on,” McBride wrote.

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Will Prince Harry be one of the foreign nationals deported under President Donald Trump’s tough immigration policies? New reporting by the New York Post suggests otherwise.

Renowned journalist Miranda Devine reported on Saturday that “Prince Harry can breathe freely in Montecito, because President Donald Trump has ruled out deporting the self-exiled British royal.”

Addressing calls for Harry’s deportation over potential false statements about his drug use in his U.S. visa application, Trump told Devine: “I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.” 

Trump added, “I think poor Harry is being led around by the nose.” In the same remarks, the president also praised Harry’s estranged older brother and future king, Prince William, calling him a “great young man.” 

Harry’s immigration scandal follows the Biden-led DHS’s refusal to release documents under the Freedom of Information Act related to his 2020 visa application. 

The Heritage Foundation is leading a lawsuit for the FOIA documents, seeking to determine, once and for all, whether Harry disclosed his admitted drug use in his visa application. 

“Anyone who applies to the United States has to be truthful on their application, and it is not clear that is the case with Prince Harry,” said Heritage’s Nile Gardiner. 

Heritage suspects that the federal government may have granted preferential treatment to Harry and his wife, leftist activist and former actress Meghan Markle after they fled the United Kingdom in disgrace. 

Markle and Harry are vocal Trump critics and have mimicked leftist rhetoric in election-related statements. Markle and Harry’s Archewell Foundation donated $250,000 to a non-profit launched by none other than President Joe Biden’s daughter, Ashley Biden.

Trump Gets Poetic Justice in Firing NARA Boss Tied to Biden’s Mar-a-Lago Raid

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The head of the National Archives, the infamous agency behind the Mar-a-Lago raid, may soon join the unemployment line. 

Colleen Shogan, the so-called Archivist of the United States, was fired Friday evening at President Donald Trump’s request, according to White House Presidential Personnel Director Sergio Gor. 

“We thank Colleen Shogan for her service,” Gor wrote on X.  

Shogan was appointed to the role by Joe Biden, the disgraced former president, on Aug. 3, 2022, after her predecessor, David Ferriero, pushed NARA to work with the DOJ to target Trump. 

Shogan previously worked at the David M. Rubenstein Center for White House History and the White House Historical Association. 

The firing was widely praised on social media, with many citing Shogan’s animosity toward conservatives as demonstrated during her confirmation hearing. She also worked tooth and nail to block transparency at the controversial NARA. 

“Shogan was an opponent of transparency and public access to classified historical records,” said former Trump-era Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence Ezra Cohen. 

Cohen, now a fellow at the Hudson Institute, added, “She systematically defunded efforts to reduce over classification and increase declassification.” 

The National Archives and Records Administration is the same agency that accused Trump of violating the Presidential Records Act by allegedly failing to turn over material to federal archivists after his term ended in 2021. 

NARA worked with Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland and the FBI to orchestrate the raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.

The raid, along with NARA’s sudden concern over presidential records, was unprecedented. Never before had a former president’s home been raided. 

Despite the supposed urgency to protect what the left claimed were classified documents, it later emerged that Biden had kept classified materials for years—long before Trump left the White House in 2021. 

Unlike Trump, Biden—then a former vice president—did not have the authority to declassify documents and keep them in his private residence.

To make matters worse, Biden admitted in private recordings to keeping classified materials and even shared them with his ghostwriter. 

Trump, meanwhile, maintained that any documents in his possession were declassified and legally his. As president, he held the power to declassify any document he wanted. 

Trump’s former vice president, Mike Pence, also had classified documents. Like Biden, he lacked the authority to declassify them. 

Yet Trump was the only one hit with criminal charges following Garland’s appointment of Jack Smith as special counsel. The charges were dismissed in a humiliating defeat for NARA. 

It is unclear who Trump will pick as Shogan’s replacement. In the meantime, Politico reported that Deputy Archivist Jay Bosanko, a government bureaucrat, will serve as acting head.

CNN Confuses Obama with Bin Laden—DESPITE Calling Similar Claims ‘Dangerous’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) CNN, the leftist news network, mixed up former President Barack Obama with Osama bin Laden, the mass murderer and founder of the terrorist organization al Qaeda. 

The offensive gaffe occurred on Friday’s episode of CNN News Central with liberal host Boris Sanchez as he reported on President Donald Trump’s use of Guantanamo Bay to temporarily house some of the most violent criminal illegal aliens. 

A CNN on-air graphic read “OBAMA BIN LADEN ASSOCIATE: ABU ZUBAYDAH,” mistakenly conflating the former Democrat president’s last name with that of the late terrorist. 

Sanchez, who did not immediately respond to Headline USA’s request for comments, did not repeat the gaffe, according to the New York Post, which first reported the gaffe.

The embarrassing gaffe comes years after several fact-checkers rushed to debunk clearly false social media claims that Obama and bin Laden were the same person. 

For instance, Reuters wrote on June 15, 2021, that “Bin Laden was born in 1957 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, while Obama was born in 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii.” It also reported that “the two men also look clearly different, visible in Reuters photographs.” 

The outlet added, “VERDICT False. Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden are clearly not the same person.” 

Similarly, CNN cynically scolded Trump’s “dangerous bin Laden conspiracy theory,” publishing a so-called fact-check in October 2020 to discredit some of his alleged social media posts. 

“On Tuesday, Trump retweeted a post from an account linked to QAnon, a collective of online conspiracists, which has since been suspended,” CNN claimed. “The tweet alleged ‘Biden and Obama may have had Seal Team 6 killed,’ Osama Bin Laden was still alive, and that the man killed in the Obama-directed raid lead by Seal Team 6 was actually a body double. Later that night, Trump retweeted a post claiming top Obama administration officials colluded to bring bin Laden from Iran to Pakistan for ‘Obama’s trophy kill.’” 

Countering the alleged Trump posts, CNN pontificated, “Facts First: Both of these theories are baseless and play into Trump’s trend of casting false aspersions on the legacy of his predecessor.” 

It remains unclear whether CNN, a self-proclaimed champion of fact-checking, will correct its embarrassing conspiracy-laden blunder.

Trump Ends Biden Security Briefings, Citing Cognitive Decline and Precedent

(Headline USA) President Donald Trump said Friday that he’s revoking former President Joe Biden’s access to government secrets and ending the daily intelligence briefings, just as Biden—or his handlers— did to him in 2021.

Trump announced his decision in a post on his social media platform shortly after he arrived at his Mar-a-Lago home and private club in Palm Beach for the weekend.

“There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information,” Trump wrote.

“Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden’s Security Clearances, and stopping his daily Intelligence Briefings,” the president continued. “He set this precedent in 2021, when he instructed the Intelligence Community (IC) to stop the 45th President of the United States (ME!) from accessing details on National Security, a courtesy provided to former Presidents,” Trump added.

Already, Trump has revoked security clearances from more than four dozen corrupt former intelligence officials who signed a 2020 letter saying that the Hunter Biden laptop saga bore the hallmarks of a “Russian information operation.”

It later became clear that the election-meddling deep-state operatives—colloquially known as the “spies who lied”—had coordinated their actions with the Biden campaign and that there was no reason for them to think it was a Russian disinformation campaign.

trump also revoked security details assigned to protect former government officials, including his own former secretary of state, Mike Pompeo, and retired ex-COVID czar Anthony Fauci, who received a pardon from Biden absolving him at the federal level of criminal culpability over his role in funding the deadly COVID-19 virus..

Biden ended Trump’s intelligence briefings after becoming president, claiming Trump’s “erratic” behavior should prevent him from getting the intel briefings.

Asked in an interview with CBS News what he feared if Trump continued to receive the briefings, Biden said he did not want to “speculate out loud” but made clear he did not want Trump to continue having access to such information.

“I just think that there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings,” Biden said. “What value is giving him an intelligence briefing? What impact does he have at all, other than the fact he might slip and say something?”

In a related matter, Trump dismissed partisan official Colleen Shogan as the archivist of the United States, White House aide Sergio Gor posted on X Friday night.

Trump had said in early January that he would replace the head of the National Archives and Records Administration over its role in waging a spurious lawfare case claiming Trump had illegally retained classified documents.

In his post on Biden, Trump cited the special counsel report last year into Biden’s handling of classified documents, saying, “The Hur Report revealed that Biden suffers from ‘poor memory’ and, even in his ‘prime,’ could not be trusted with sensitive information.”

He ended his post by saying, “I will always protect our National Security—JOE, YOU’RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Special counsel Robert Hur investigated Biden’s handling of classified information and delivered a bitingly critical assessment of his handling of sensitive government records. The report described Biden’s memory as “hazy,” “fuzzy,” “faulty,” “poor” and having “significant limitations.” It said Biden could not recall defining milestones in his own life such as when his son Beau died or when he served as vice president.

Hur ultimately found Biden unfit to stand trial on the basis that no jury would convict someone with his diminished cognitive faculties.

Trump has the right to end the briefings for Biden because it is a sitting president’s decision on whether a past president should continue to have access to classified information.

Steven Cheung, the president’s communications director, shared Trump’s post on the X social media platform and said, “Hit the road Jack and don’t you come back no more!”

Judge Blocks Trump Admin’s Effort to Place USAID Workers on Leave within 30 Days

(Headline USA) A federal judge on Friday dealt President Donald Trump a big setback in the dismantling of the U.S. Agency for International Development, ordering a temporary halt to plans to pull thousands of agency staffers off the job.

U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols, a Trump appointee, also agreed to block an order that would have given the thousands of overseas USAID workers the administration wanted to place on abrupt administrative leave just 30 days to move families and households back to the U.S. on government expense.

Both moves would have exposed the U.S. workers and their spouses and children to unwarranted risk and expense, the judge said.

Nichols pointed to accounts from workers abroad that the Trump administration, in its rush to shut down the agency and its programs abroad, had cut some workers off from government emails and other communication systems they needed to reach the U.S. government in case of a health or safety emergency.

The Associated Press reported earlier that USAID contractors in the Middle East and elsewhere had found even “panic button” apps wiped off their mobile phones or disabled when the administration abruptly furloughed them.

“Administrative leave in Syria is not the same as administrative leave in Bethesda,” the judge said in his order Friday night.

In agreeing to stop the 30-day deadline given USAID staffers to return home at government expense, Nichols cited statements from agency employees who had no home to go to in the U.S. after decades abroad, who faced pulling children with special needs out of school midyear, and had other difficulties.

The judge also ordered USAID staffers already placed on leave by the Trump administration reinstated. But he declined a request from two federal employee associations to grant a temporary block on a Trump administration funding freeze that has shut down the deep state’s defacto piggybank, pending more hearings on the workers’ lawsuit.

Nichols stressed in the hearing earlier Friday on the request to pause the Trump administration’s actions that his order was not a decision on the employees’ request to roll back the administration’s swiftly moving destruction of the agency.

“CLOSE IT DOWN,” Trump said on social media of USAID before the judge’s ruling.

The American Foreign Service Association and the American Federation of Government Employees argue that Trump lacks the authority to shut down the agency without approval from Congress. Democratic lawmakers have made the same argument.

Trump’s administration moved quickly Friday to literally erase the agency’s name. Workers on a crane scrubbed the name from the stone front of its Washington headquarters. They used duct tape to block it out on a sign and took down USAID flags. Someone placed a bouquet of flowers outside the door.

The Trump administration and Elon Musk, chair of the budget-cutting Department of Government Efficiency, have made USAID their biggest target so far in a sweeping effort to reduce government waste, inefficiency and corruption.

Administration appointees and Musk’s teams have shut down almost all funding for the agency, stopping aid and development programs worldwide. They have placed staffers and contractors on leave and furlough and locked them out of the agency’s email and other systems. According to Democratic lawmakers, they also carted away USAID’s computer servers.

“This is a full-scale gutting of virtually all the personnel of an entire agency,” Karla Gilbride, the attorney for the employee associations, told the judge.

Justice Department attorney Brett Shumate argued that the administration has all the legal authority it needs to place agency staffers on leave. “The government does this across the board every day,” Shumate said. “That’s what’s happening here. It’s just a large number.”

Trump Hits South Africa With Sanctions Over Baffling Land Seizures

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President Donald Trump wasted no time in expressing his disapproval of South Africa’s controversial land seizure laws that empower the local government to reportedly discriminate against white South Africans, Headline USA has learned. 

On Friday, Trump imposed sanctions on South Africa, freezing all U.S. aid and offering to resettle Afrikaner refugees—South Africans of European descent—who have been targeted by “government-sponsored race-based discrimination.” 

The sanctions, announced on Friday through an executive order, are significant, especially considering that the U.S. provided $453 million in taxpayer dollars in 2024 alone, according to the Institute for Security Studies, a South African non-profit. 

Trump’s move came in response to South Africa’s enactment of the “Expropriation Act 13 of 2024,” a law that allows the government to seize property from ethnic minority Afrikaners without compensation. 

Left-wing media outlets claim the law aims to resolve so-called inequalities from South African apartheid. The law vaguely stipulates the government can seize specific property in the name of “public interest.” 

Trump’s executive order criticized the law, noting that it mirrors other policies “designed to dismantle equal opportunity in employment, education, and business, and hateful rhetoric and government actions fueling disproportionate violence against racially disfavored landowners.” 

Trump addressed the law in a Feb. 2 post Truth Social post, accusing South Africa of “confiscating land, and treating certain classes of people VERY BADLY.” 

“A massive Human Rights VIOLATION, at a minimum, is happening for all to see,” Trump warned. “The United States won’t stand for it, we will act. Also, I will be cutting off all future funding to South Africa until a full investigation of this situation has been completed!” 

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa defiantly dismissed Trump’s threats, claiming his country would “not be bullied.” 

“We are witnessing the rise of nationalism, protectionism, the pursuit of narrow interests and the decline of common cause,” Ramaphosa dubiously claimed. “But we are not daunted to navigate our path through this world that constantly changes. We will not be deterred. We are, as South Africans, a resilient people.”
