Adam Schiff Laments Trump Wasn’t Jailed Sooner as DOJ Turns on Him

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., lamented that the Biden administration did not move more quickly to incarcerate President Donald Trump, suggesting that even more aggressive action could have thwarted his 2024 electoral prospects. 

Schiff, who himself is facing a federal investigation into allegations of mortgage fraud, claimed in an interview with the New Yorker Radio Hour that had former Attorney General Merrick Garland acted sooner, “we might be in a very different place today.” 

Schiff’s remarks came after podcast host David Remnick asked, “Do you feel that Merrick Garland moved too slowly, too cautiously?” 

The senator replied, “I absolutely do. Yeah.” 

Remnick then asked why Garland acted “so slowly,” adding, “What about his character or tactics or strategy led him to behave that way?” 

Schiff then misleadingly claimed that Garland had been brought in to correct what Schiff viewed as partisanship in the first Trump administration. 

These comments appear at odds with newly declassified documents that showed that the Biden-led DOJ and FBI undertook sweeping investigations targeting Trump and his allies after he left office in 2021. 

The New York Times even reported that former President Joe Biden actively supported Garland taking action against Trump. 

The Biden-led probe triggered 197 subpoenas against 430 Republican organizations and individuals. The subpoenas included phone records of at least 11 Republican lawmakers. 

These records were later transferred to Special Counsel Jack Smith, whom Garland appointed to pursue the Trump investigation under the guise of independence. 

Despite this, Schiff framed Garland’s actions as part of an attempt to restore credibility. 

“The Justice Department in the first Trump was abused and made partisan, and he wished to restore the Department’s reputation for independence,” Schiff claimed. “Now, what they did in the first Trump Justice Department is peanuts compared to today.” 

Schiff continued, “But nevertheless, Merrick Garland wanted to restore the reputation of the Department for strict non-partisanship. And that made him very reluctant to pursue an investigation of the president, too reluctant.” 

In conclusion, Schiff claimed that Garland’s reluctance allowed the Supreme Court time to issue a decision on presidential immunity. 

“Ultimately that gave the Supreme Court the time it needed to drag things out further and make the case against Trump go away completely when it could have been brought to fruition. And we might be in a very different place today,” he stated.

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) A recent video from cybersecurity expert and social-media influencer Mike Benz floated the theory that accused Jan. 6 pipe-bomber Brian Cole Jr. may be a patsy in a seditious conspiracy plotted during the months before the 2020 presidential election.

Benz pointed out that Hillary Clinton adviser and spirit-cooking aficionado John Podesta was the mastermind behind the Orwellian-named Transition Integrity Project, an alliance of NeverTrumpers who wargamed a series of four scenarios to overthrow the government if President Donald Trump defeated Joe Biden in the 2020 race.

Among the scenarios they floated were having several deep blue states — including California — secede from the union and presenting alternate slates of electors in highly contested swing states — the very thing for which lawfare activists subsequently attempted to prosecute Trump’s allies).

“John Podesta personally role-played that move — alternate electors — which sure played into a broader narrative of Democrats attempting to orchestrate an illegal coup,” Benz said on his podcast. “They knew — they wargamed — an illegal coup, and they wargamed what the perceived — the public perception that it was an illegal coup.”

The seditious scheme proved moot after Biden edged out Trump in November 2020, in an election chock full of allegations about illegal ballots and rigged voting machines.

But one threat remained: that Republicans might stage a revolt during the Joint Session of Congress on Jan. 6, 2021, to certify the election results.

Benz, looking at TIP’s original 22-page report, noted that the planning for a riot at the U.S. Capitol may have begun in June 2020, when Podesta — along with RINO ex-Republican National Committee chair Michael Steele and around 70 high-level military, intelligence and political power players —  began anticipating the certification process.

Fearing their lawfare resources might be insufficient to overturn the outcome, TIP wrote that the coup “may well be a street fight, not a legal battle.”

Around the same time, Cole began purchasing the bomb-making material needed for the two explosive devices he planted at the RNC and DNC headquarters.

Benz suggested that Cole, whose family-run bail-bond business supported illegal immigration, may have been affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement, which was being bankrolled by the powerful ESG arms of major corporations, as well as dark-money foreign investors.

“Almost every strategy to get rid of Trump is dependent on mass mobilization and, in particular, in large numbers of people taking to the streets,” the TIP report said. “… Their success will likely depend on supporting and resourcing new and emerging racial justice leaders.”

If Trump had won, the TIP plan would’ve had Democrats taking to the streets of D.C.

Instead, it was Trump supporters who joined what many argue was a “fed-surrection” psy-op to breach the Capitol, giving radical leftists both the distraction and scapegoat they needed to railroad a Biden presidency across the finish line.

“This is one of the most consequential moves in the whole game in order to make sure Trump could not take office, even if they even acknowledged that he clearly won the election,” Benz said.

Piers Morgan Presses Nick Fuentes about His Sexuality

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Infamous podcaster Nick Fuentes revealed some personal details about his sexuality that critics say go a long way toward explaining his misogynistic views: he’s a virgin with zero interest in dating women. 

Fuentes shared the insights during an interview with Piers Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored, which aired Monday and quickly went viral on social media. 

The exchange comes amid legacy media efforts to portray Fuentes as a major figure within the conservative movement, turning him into a political football, with Democrats tying him to the Republican Party. 

“Are you actually attracted to women?” Morgan asked. 

“I am attracted to women,” Fuentes claimed.  

Asked if he was gay, Fuentes replied, “No, but I will say that women are very difficult to be around.” 

Morgan then asked if women should have the right to vote. Fuentes replied that they should not and said they should stay at home. 

Morgan, clearly puzzled by the answers, asked, “Have you ever had sex?” 

“No, absolutely not,” Fuentes, who is Catholic and not married, replied.

That exchange prompted Morgan to weigh in on what he saw as the source of Fuentes’s views. 

“I think when a 27-year-old guy, who’s never got laid, never had a meaningful relationship with a woman, says that women shouldn’t be allowed to vote,” Morgan added, “they should stay at home, that all they do is fantasize about being raped and being beaten up, that’s what they want. That they’re annoying, that they get fat, that they get ugly, that’s a misogynist.” 

He continued, “Now you may not understand it because your knowledge of women is so incredibly tiny but actually you are the embodiment of a misogynist. It couldn’t be clearer.” 

Morgan said he feared Fuentes was in the same position as men who, after being repeatedly rejected by women, grow isolated and develop animosity toward them. 

Fuentes has stayed in the headlines following a friendly interview with Tucker Carlson that sparked backlash across social media.  

Some conservatives called for Fuentes to be disavowed, while others argued the controversy raised free speech concerns and echoed Carlson’s view that ignoring him is a mistake given his large following.

Seditious Six Implicated in ‘Smurfing’ Scandal to Flout Campaign Finance Laws, Prey on Elderly

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) An analysis of data from the Federal Election Commission revealed that the so-called Seditious Six showed the groups members collectively had received nearly $3 million in illegally sourced campaign funds.

Investigative journalist Bob Cushman wrote in the Gateway Pundit that the group of congressional lawmakers with deep-state ties had benefited from at least 22 examples of “smurfing.”

The term refers to dark-money donors concealing a large-dollar donation by breaking it into smaller transactions involving multiple individuals—some of them without their knowledge or consent—to avoid campaign-finance scrutiny.

Oftentimes, the donations are funneled through a crowdfunding aggregator such as ActBlue, which may even conceal the identity of the recipient for an extra layer of opacity.

In addition to providing cover to wealthy oligarchs like George Soros, whose financial support might stigmatize more moderate candidates, the practice may allow foreign governments hostile to the U.S. to wield influence illegally and subvert the democratic process.

Cushman’s investigation identified more than 95,000 separate smurfing donations to Sens. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan and Mark Kelly of Arizona, as well as Reps. Chris Deluzio of Pennsylvania, Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, and Jason Crow of Colorado.

In one example, a 71-year-old California resident by the name of David Hutton reportedly made 14,047 donations, totaling nearly $350,000 at an average of $24.51 (including 80 that were for less than $2), over a seven-year span.

“This ridiculous donation history is clearly not possible, and it is believed that this person has had his identity stolen,” said the Gateway Pundit report.

The six Democrat lawmakers gained notoriety last month after releasing a video in which they called on active-duty members of the military to refuse orders to which they objected politically by claiming them to be “illegal.” But by the group’s own admission, the Trump administration has given no such illegal orders, making its appeal purely speculative.

The scandal has led some to suspect that the six, all of whom are retired members of the military or intelligence community, may be sowing the seeds for a color revolution in which left-wing radicals, perhaps in the lead-up to the 2026 midterm election, attempt a military coup against President Donald Trump.

Two of the ringleaders in the Seditious Six, Slotkin and Kelly, both have known financial ties to China. In Kelly’s case, a spy-balloon company he co-founded, World View, took millions from a CCP-backed surveillance company, Tencent, which is also accused of being complicit in the torture and forced slavery of the Uyghurs in southwestern China.

At least five of the members (with the exception of Kelly) also have known ties to a Soros-linked organization called New Politics that “recruits, trains, and develops leaders with service backgrounds to transform our politics,” according to its mission statement.

Others in the organization include newly elected Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger and New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill, as well as failed Maryland candidate Harry Dunn, the perjorious ex-Capitol Police officer known for harassing Jan. 6 defendants.

RINO ex-Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wisc., whose malicious resignation last year nearly jeopardized a GOP House majority, is also on the organization’s roster.

New Jan. 6 Committee Asks to Interview Lady Who Found DNC Pipe Bomb

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The Select Subcommittee to Investigate the Remaining Questions Surrounding January 6, 2021, is seeking an interview with the woman who discovered a pipe bomb near the Democratic National Committee headquarters that day.

The interview request comes on the heels of the FBI arresting Brian J. Cole Jr., 30, of Woodbridge, Virginia, for allegedly planting the DNC pipe bomb and another pipe bomb outside of the RNC the night before.

“Given your discovery and subsequent interactions with the FBI, you are uniquely situated to provide information regarding the circumstances surrounding the FBI’s response to, and investigation of, the RNC pipe bomb,” subcommittee chairman Barry Loudermilk, R-Ga., said Monday in a letter to the woman, Karlin Younger. “Accordingly, we ask that you make yourself available for a transcribed interview with the Select Subcommittee.”

Younger, a former counterterrorism analyst and then-Commerce Department worker, said she found the bomb while doing laundry during around noon on Jan. 6.

Despite her discovery, the FBI didn’t interview her immediately. Two days later, she contacted the bureau’s tipline to provide information.

“I am the person that discovered and alerted the guards the pipe bomb found next to the RNC on January 6. I wanted to identify myself in case there are additional details I can provide that might be useful to the investigation,” Younger wrote to the feds on Jan. 8, 2021.

It was another three days before agents finally interviewed her. By then, they already had a “person of interest” identified, but they never made any arrests.

In her interview, Younger provided agents with the same information as in her original tip. She also told them the obese woman she saw outside the alley was wearing a motorcycle jacket. She further said that the timer on the pipe bomb she found was at the 20-minute mark—a possible indication that it was planted shortly before the discovery, and not the night before.

Last week’s arrest of Cole came after Blaze Media accused a former Capitol Police officer of planting the bombs—a story underpinned by “gait analysis” and anonymous sources. The Blaze has since retracted that story.

FBI Agents Who Knelt for BLM Say They Were Preventing Another Boston Massacre

(Headline USA) Twelve former FBI agents fired after kneeling during a 2020 Black Lives Matter protest in Washington sued Monday to get their jobs back, saying their action had been intended to de-escalate a volatile situation and was not meant as a political gesture.

The agents say in their lawsuit that they were fired in September by Director Kash Patel because they were perceived as not being politically affiliated with President Donald Trump. But they say their decision to take a knee on June 4, 2020, days after the death of George Floyd has been misinterpreted as political expression.

The lawsuit says the agents were assigned to patrol the nation’s capital during a period of civil unrest prompted by Floyd’s death. Lacking protective gear or extensive training in crowd control, the agents became outnumbered by hostile crowds they encountered and decided to kneel to the ground in hopes of defusing the tension, the lawsuit said. The tactic worked, the lawsuit asserts — the crowds dispersed, no shots were fired and the agents “saved American lives” that day.

“Plaintiffs were performing their duties as FBI Special Agents, employing reasonable de-escalation to prevent a potentially deadly confrontation with American citizens: a Washington Massacre that could have rivaled the Boston Massacre in 1770,” the lawsuit says.

The FBI declined to comment Monday.

The photos of the kneeling agents—particularly one of a portly woman— took the internet by storm, both for the ridiculous imagery, and the fact that the bureau was playing politics at a time when many of the country’s major cities were overrun by crime and violent demonstrators.

Photos did not indicate that the agents were in any danger, or that the crowd was threatening them.

Ex-Trump Lawyer Alina Habba Resigns as US Attorney for New Jersey

President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney, Alina Habba, resigned Monday as the top federal prosecutor for New Jersey, leaving the job after an appeals court said she had been serving in the post unlawfully.

In a statement posted on social media, Habba assailed the court’s ruling as political, but said she was resigning “to protect the stability and integrity” of her office.

“But do not mistake compliance for surrender,” she said, adding that the administration would continue its appeal of the court rulings ousting her from the position. “This decision will not weaken the Justice Department and it will not weaken me.”

Habba said she would remain with the Justice Department as a senior adviser to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. Her former duties will, for now, be split between three lawyers in the office.

Habba, 41, was appointed in March to serve a temporary term as acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey, a powerful post charged with enforcing federal criminal and civil law.

Once a partner in a small New Jersey law firm, Habba was among Trump’s most visible legal defenders during the four years he was out of power, representing him in court and frequently appearing on cable TV news as his “legal spokesperson.”

However, two Democratic senators indicated they would block her confirmation in the U.S. Senate.

When her term expired in July, a panel of federal judges appointed one of her subordinates to the role instead. But Bondi promptly fired the replacement, blaming Habba’s removal on “politically minded judges.”

A lower-court judge’s finding that Habba was unlawfully serving in the position soon triggered a monthslong legal standoff, prompting confusion and delays within New Jersey’s federal court system.

Bondi said the department will continue to fight to reverse the courts’ ruling on Habba, and she will return as U.S. attorney if those appeals are successful. But the attorney general said the ruling “has made it untenable” for Habba to remain “with politicized judges pausing trials designed to bring violent criminals to justice.”

“These judges should not be able to countermand the President’s choice of attorneys entrusted with carrying out the executive branch’s core responsibility of prosecuting crime,” Bondi said.

Habba is one of several Trump administration prosecutors whose appointments have faced challenges.

The Justice Department had vowed to appeal a judge’s ruling dismissing the criminal cases against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James on the grounds that the prosecutor who filed the charges, Lindsey Halligan, was unlawfully appointed as interim U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.

It’s unclear whether the administration’s decision to abandon the fight to keep Habba in office may impact other U.S. attorneys whose appointments have been challenged by defense lawyers.

In a statement posted on X on Monday, Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche accused judges of engaging in an “unconscionable campaign of bias and hostility” against Halligan for questioning why she was still being identified as U.S. attorney on court documents.

(Headline USA) A North Carolina judge on Monday ordered a Honduran man to be held without bond after he allegedly stabbed a man on a Charlotte train who was defending an old lady from him.

Oscar Solarzano, 33, wearing an orange jumpsuit and appearing via video link, listened impassively as a translator read charges of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon and others. Mecklenburg County District Judge Keith Smith scheduled his next hearing for Dec. 30.

The public defender in the courtroom declined to comment.

Solarzano, also known as Oscar Gerardo Solorzano-Garcia, is charged with stabbing 24-year-old Kenyon Kareem Dobie in the chest during a fight Friday on the city’s Blue Line.

It was revealed in court that Solarzano — whose address listed in charging documents was a local homeless shelter — had been banned from Charlotte Area Transit Service property in October. CATS spokesman Brett Baldeck confirmed the ban, but did not have any further details. “Our security team is looking into this now,” Baldeck said.

The Department of Homeland Security says Solarzano had been deported twice and has previous convictions for robbery and illegal reentry, but details were not immediately available.

DHS, which recently conducted an immigration crackdown in Charlotte and around the state capital of Raleigh, has lodged a detainer with local authorities.

Attempts to reach Dobie were unsuccessful. But he told WRAL that he confronted Solarzano for yelling at an older woman.

“I guess it’s better off that it happened to me and not an older person,” Dobie told the station.

“I wasn’t trying to be a macho man,” Dobie said in a TikTok post from his hospital room. “But what I won’t allow is you to attack random people for no reason, especially the elderly.”

The incident comes just a few months after a Ukrainian refugee riding one of the city’s trains was killed in an unrelated knife attack.

Iryna Zarutska, 23, had been living in a bomb shelter in Ukraine before coming to the U.S. to escape the war, her relatives said. Decarlos Brown Jr., has been charged with first-degree murder in state court, and was also indicted in federal court on a charge of causing death on a mass transportation system.

As with the Aug. 22 attack, Trump and others in his administration point to the incident as proof that Democratic-led cities are soft on crime.

“Another stabbing by an Illegal Migrant in Charlotte, North Carolina,” Trump commented Saturday about the latest stabbing on his Truth Social site. “What’s going on in Charlotte? Democrats are destroying it, like everything else, piece by piece!!!”

Brent Cagle, CATS interim CEO, said the transit system has taken a “proactive and robust” safety approach since Zarutska’s stabbing, with extra off-duty police officers, private security and new technology.

“We will continue to work with our partners at CMPD as well as our private security team to ensure everyone rides appropriately on public transit,” he said. “We will not compromise on the safety of our customers and employees.”

Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett is Running for the US Senate

(Headline USA) Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett launched a campaign Monday for the U.S. Senate in Texas, bringing a national profile to a race that may be critical to Democrats’ long-shot hopes of reclaiming a Senate majority in next year’s midterm elections.

Crockett, one of Congress’ most outspoken Democrats, jumped into the race on the final day of qualifying in Texas. She is seeking the Senate seat held by Republican John Cornyn, who is running for reelection in the GOP-dominated state.

Democrats need a net gain of four Senate seats to wrest control from Republicans next November, when most of the seats up for reelection are in states like Texas that President Donald Trump won last year. Democrats have long hoped to make Texas more competitive after decades of Republican dominance. Cornyn, first elected to the Senate since 2002, is facing the toughest GOP primary of his career against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt.

Crockett’s announcement came hours after former Rep. Colin Allred ended his own campaign for the Democratic nomination in favor of attempting a House comeback bid. She faces a March 3 primary against Democratic state Rep. James Talarico, a former teacher with a rising national profile fueled by viral social media posts challenging Republican policies such as private school vouchers and requiring the Ten Commandments in classrooms.

Talarico raised almost $6.3 million in the three weeks after he formally organized his primary campaign committee in September, according its first campaign finance report, and he had nearly $5 million in cash on hand at the end of the month. Crockett raised about $2.7 million for her House campaign fund from July through September and ended the month with $4.6 million in cash on hand.

Crockett also could test Democratic voters’ appetite for a someone who courts controversy with outrageous statements.

She’s been known to trade insults with the likes of Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, who announced last month that she would resign in January, and had heated exchanges with Rep. Nancy Mace of South Carolina.

She also mocked Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott — who uses a wheelchair — as “Gov. Hot Wheels.” She later said she was referring to Abbott’s policy of using “planes, trains and automobiles” to send thousands of immigrants in Texas illegally to Democratic-led cities.

Additionally, she’s referred to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers as “slave patrols,” and has questioned the integrity of U.S. elections—something that Republicans have been blasted for since contesting the controversial 2020 election results.

After Kirk Assasination, Students Less Comfortable with ‘Controversial’ Events on Campus

(Tate Miller, The Center Square) Following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, half of the nation’s college students report feeling less comfortable attending controversial public events on campus and nearly half are less comfortable voicing opinions on controversial subjects in class.

Chief Research Advisor Dr. Sean Stevens at the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression told The Center Square that Charlie Kirk’s September assassination at Utah Valley University “has had a chilling effect — not just at UVU, but across the country.”

The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) surveyed 2,028 undergraduates nationwide – including an “oversample” of 204 students from Utah Valley University – in order to “understand how the assassination is shaping student attitudes and behavior.”

Stevens told The Center Square that “some of the data from Utah Valley University students are encouraging – revealing signs of increased tolerance, and even relative trust in administrative protections for free speech.”

However, Stevens also said that the assassination of Kirk “appears to have deepened existing ideological fractures between liberals and conservatives on campus.”

A press release on the survey showed that following the assassination, “moderate and conservative students across the country became significantly less likely to say that shouting down a speaker, blocking entry to an event, or using violence to stop a campus speech are acceptable actions.”

“In contrast, liberal students’ support for these tactics held steady, or even increased slightly,” the release said.

Additionally, according to the survey, half of the participating students reported they are “less comfortable attending or hosting controversial public events on their campus.”

Forty-five percent of students surveyed are “less comfortable expressing their views on controversial topics in class,” with one in five students saying that “they are now less comfortable attending class” – all following the killing of Kirk.

Stevens told The Center Square that “the worst thing colleges and universities could take away from Charlie Kirk’s assassination is that open debate and controversy are too dangerous.”

“Instead, schools need to stop using ‘safety’ as a pretext for censorship, apply the same free-speech rules to everyone, and protect the speech rights of students, faculty, staff, and speakers better,” Stevens said.

Stevens outlined three ways in which schools can begin to accomplish this free speech initiative.

For one, schools can begin “emphasizing that violence and true threats are unacceptable no matter who the speaker is,” Stevens said.

Additionally, Stevens said schools can make “their policies viewpoint neutral so that the same procedures are applied regardless of the speaker’s ideological views.”
