Bullion at the Ballot Box: How Will the Election Impact Gold Market?

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) How will the upcoming presidential election impact the gold market? President Joe Biden has dropped out of the presidential race. It appears Kamala Harris has the inside track to the Democratic Party nomination, but that isn’t a foregone conclusion. Polling currently shows Trump and the Republicans holding an edge, but we are a long way from November. A lot can change, as the events of the last few weeks remind us.

There’s no way to know exactly how the election will impact gold, but we can identify some historical trends that can help investors as we wade into this sea of uncertainty.

According to a World Gold Council report titled Ballots to Bullion: Examining the U.S. Election’s Effect on Gold, generally, presidential elections haven’t historically had a significant or immediate impact on the gold market. But there are some subtle identifiable trends.

Overall, gold tends to slightly underperform around presidential elections. However, there are some nuances detectable in the data.

Gold has historically performed slightly better in the six months prior to a Republican victory and then traded flat in the immediate aftermath. Conversely, gold tends to underperform in the six months before a Democratic win and trade just below the long-term average within the first six post-election months.

The WGC emphasizes that neither of these trends is statistically significant.

Looking at gold’s performance after the last two elections, we find that during the six months following the Trump inauguration, gold was down 2.6 percent. During the first six months of the Biden presidency, gold fell 6.4 percent.

More generally, the WGC found that gold bar and coin demand seems to increase, on average, during Democratic presidencies, this is not the case with other segments of investment demand.

This dovetails with analysis by Money Metals Exchange Director Clint Siegner.

“Pessimism about where the country is headed has been a major driver in the markets for physical gold and silver. For many, Trump seems to represent the ‘right track.’ His election in 2016 led to a couple of quiet years, and demand is subdued once again with Trump as the front-runner.

“Whomever the Democrats select to replace Biden, the question will be whether they have significantly better prospects to beat Trump in November. If he or she does, expect U.S. investors to buy more gold and silver.”

As the World Gold Council report notes, the policies proposed and implemented by the winning candidate will likely have more of an impact on the markets than the party affiliation of the winner.

“Our analysis of gold and US presidential elections suggests that gold is not reacting directly to party affiliation or changes in leadership. Rather, it highlights the relevance of key global macroeconomic drivers of gold’s performance in contrast to specific local dynamics.”

We do have some precedent to lean on going into the 2024 election. We can look back at Trump’s first term to gain some insight into his economic approach, and Biden’s successor on the ticket will likely continue the trajectory of Bidenomics.

We find that gold did well during both administrations. According to the WGC, gold was up 60 percent during Trump’s presidency, increasing by nearly 30 percent pre-COVID and slightly over 30 percent during the pandemic. Under Biden, gold moved sideways initially, but has gained more than 30 percent during his term to date, primarily due to broader macro factors and central bank buying.

Geopolitical risk tends to drive safe-haven demand for gold. According to the WGC analysis, elections themselves don’t tend to increase the Geopolitical Risk Index (GPR), but perceptions around candidates and their policies can exacerbate or calm worries.

According to the World Gold Council, geopolitical risk will likely remain elevated no matter who wins the election.

“If Trump is elected, he will likely confront a more polarized world than during his previous term. As such, global markets may be more reactive to the direction of his policies – especially foreign ones. For instance, recent commentary from Trump on NATO may signal continued geopolitical uncertainty. Equally, from a GPR indicator standpoint, risk levels were significantly lower at the beginning of Biden’s presidency, compared to where they are today; they will also likely continue to rise as the election nears regardless of the candidate behind which Democrats rally. And a Democratic presidency with similar policies to Biden’s may meet a divided Congress and have difficulty in passing legislation.”

The Only Certain Thing Is Uncertainty

If the events of the last couple of weeks have reminded us of anything, it’s that nothing is certain but uncertainty.

And there is already plenty of uncertainty and questions surrounding this election.

Who will the Democrats ultimately select? How much impact, if any, will the legal proceedings against Trump have on the campaign? Will there be any economic surprises this fall, and if so, how will they affect the election? Will there be new wars? I could write an endless list of things that could swing the momentum of the campaign.

This means a savvy investor needs to prepare for anything.

The World Gold Council concluded that despite the fact gold hasn’t tended to react significantly to past elections, this one might prove different.

“The outcome of this election may have a more noticeable effect on investor sentiment. A continuation of election-related uncertainty and rising geopolitical threats will add more volatility and likely impact broader macro variables. This, in turn, could drive investors to evaluate how they might mitigate risk in their own portfolios and draw them towards a safe-haven asset like gold.”

Most people acknowledge gold is a safe haven. It serves as an insurance policy during times of uncertainty. But you can’t buy fire insurance when your house is burning down.

A wise investor builds a safe-haven hedge before a crisis erupts. By their nature, black swan events can’t be predicted. You have to be prepared for uncertainty at all times.

African Countries Are Turning to Gold

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) A growing number of African countries are turning to gold to hedge geopolitical risk and protect against currency losses.

Nigeria, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Madagascar, and several other African nations have made moves to increase gold reserves, bring their gold home, and even back their currencies with the yellow metal.

South Sudan is the latest country to turn to gold. Last weekend, the country’s central bank governor said he plans to expand the country’s gold reserves.

“We are in the stage of preparing policy documents and studying examples of other countries and lessons drawn.”

Earlier this month, the Ugandan central bank announced a domestic gold-buying program to purchase gold directly from local artisanal miners to help “address the risks in the international financial markets.”

In June, Tanzania announced a plan to spend $400 million on six tons of gold. Tanzania Finance Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba also issued a directive to curb the widespread use of the U.S. dollar in the country.

Nigeria has launched a domestic gold-buying plan to bolster its reserves. In addition to buying locally sourced gold, the Nigerian central bank has announced plans to bring its existing gold reserves back into the country “to mitigate risks associated with the weakening U.S. economy.”

“Economic indicators such as rising inflation, escalating debt levels, and geopolitical tensions have raised apprehensions among Nigerian policymakers about the stability of the U.S. financial system.”

Last year, the Central Bank of Madagascar implemented a domestic gold purchases program as income from vanilla exports declined.

As an analyst explained to Bloomberg, “Central banks can add gold to their official reserves using their local currency, allowing them to grow reserve assets without having to sacrifice other hard-currency reserves.”

Meanwhile, a presidential candidate in Ghana recently said he would back the country’s currency with gold if he wins the election.

“Ultimately, my goal is that we are going to back our currency with gold and that is where I want us to go, increasingly backing our currency with gold.”

This would follow the lead of Zimbabwe, which created a gold-backed currency earlier this year. The ZiG (Zimbabwe gold; ZiG; ZWG) replaced the Zimbabwean dollar (RTGS; 1980-2008: ZWL). The currency is a “structured currency” backed primarily by gold but also by other forex reserves including U.S. dollars (USD).

To some degree, African leaders and central bankers are trying to fix problems they created by printing too much money and running up dollar-denominated debt. But they are also concerned about America’s weaponization of the dollar and other risks associated with the greenback including the profligate spending and growing national debt.

A Tellimer (Dubai) emerging market equity strategy told Bloomberg the move makes sense.

“For countries taking a view that either the price of gold is going to go up, the price of the U.S. dollar is going to go down, or their access to U.S. dollars may be compromised by sanctions then increasing the allocation of gold in their reserves might make sense.”

Gold: Steady So Far

(Brien Lundin, Money Metals News Service) Gold lost its gains as today’s stock sell-off gained steam, leading to a liquidity crunch and margin calls. Still, the yellow metal is weathering the turmoil very well so far.

A couple of days ago I predicted that we had another week or two of sideways trading before gold was ready to take off again.

On Wednesday morning, I thought that the yellow metal wasn’t waiting any longer — the U.S. stock market was in the midst of a swan dive, Treasury yields and the Dollar Index were lower, but gold, silver, and mining stocks were trading nicely higher.

Since then, gold has given up most of its gains, and it’s not hard to see why. Here’s today’s gold chart, basis the active futures contract:

alt_text

And here’s today’s chart of the 10-Year Treasury yield:

alt_text

As you can see, gold was up as much as $25 before a spike in Treasury yields sent it lower.

As to what’s driving yields higher, it seems that as the U.S. equity sell-off gained steam today, margin calls spawned a liquidity crunch that forced investors to begin selling whatever they could…with Treasuries and gold topping the list.

For some context on how the stock sell-off hit hard and gained momentum, look at this five-day chart of the Nasdaq:

alt_text

With a drop of 3.4% as I write, this is the worst day for the Nasdaq since 2022.

Is this the beginning of a new stock-market crash — the latest financial crisis that will force the Fed to not only begin rate cuts but urgently drive rates lower?

We’ll see soon. And while it was encouraging to see gold rising as everything else was falling early on in today’s session, it’s important to note that everything will get hit, and hard, in a true liquidity vacuum.

Good luck trying to trade that phenomenon. My advice is, if metals and mining stocks go on the bargain rack, take advantage of it to buy as much as you can.

Because the inevitable rescue plan by the Fed and other central banks will quickly send these assets catapulting higher.

Maxine Waters Questions Pelosi, Schumer over Delayed Harris Backing

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., raised questions about why former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., did not immediately back Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential bid, which she announced on Sunday.

In a Tuesday interview with Politico, Waters appeared to call out the two powerful Democrats’ delayed endorsement, hinting at their potential dislike of Harris.

“I wonder what’s taking them so long,” Waters said. “I know they were part of the little group with Nancy Pelosi that was telling him he had to step aside.”

Harris announced her presidential bid on Sunday after President Joe Biden exited the ticket under pressure from Pelosi and Schumer. Notably, the two Democrats did not back Harris until Tuesday, hours after Politico published its Waters interview.

“I wondered, do they have a mystery candidate around? Why are they so interested in an open convention? I wondered what was propelling that,” Waters added.

Her comments followed remarks from Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, who told MSNBC that some lawmakers were strongly opposed to Harris as the Democratic nominee, although she did not name specific individuals.

“I do know that behind closed doors, while I won’t name names, that there were people that were absolutely, like, ‘It can’t be the vice president,’” Crockett claimed. “In one breath they were saying, ‘The president needs to be out.’ In the next breath, they were also saying, ‘It can’t be her.’”

Harris’s unpopularity likely fueled concerns among Democrats. Like her boss, Harris enjoys some of the lowest approval ratings in history.

Addressing the polls and the suggestion that Pelosi and Schumer were waiting to vet Harris’s popularity, Waters was critical.

“I understand they may be waiting for some polls, but you know, what do I think about polls? You know, for months now it has been a one, two, three percentage point difference, and I haven’t seen much more than that,” she stated.

Waters said that Harris’s unpopularity did not bother her, citing Hillary Clinton’s favorable polls in 2016. Clinton went on to lose to then-Republican candidate Donald Trump.

“Don’t forget, I was a big supporter of Hillary Clinton. And I know what the polls did — they gave me a heart attack,” Waters concluded.

Democrats Hope to Virtually Nominate Harris—and Her Running Mate—by Aug. 1

(Headline USA) Barring any surprise challengers, Democratic National Convention delegates may formally anoint Vice President Kamala Harris as their presidential nominee without a vote ever having been cast for her in the next week using a virtual voting option.

Party elites may even approve her yet-to be-named running mate in online voting beginning next week, as they race to coalesce around a new ticket heading into November.

The convention’s rules committee on Wednesday passed a proposal where delegates from around the country will be able to vote on potential presidential nominees to replace President Joe Biden, who abandoned his reelection bid last weekend.

But so far, Harris is the only major Democrat to announce publicly that she’s seeking the nomination, meaning she’ll almost-certainly be approved in a single round of virtual balloting beginning Aug. 1—some 18 days before the party’s convention opens in Chicago.

Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison referenced the unprecedented shakeup in the presidential race left by Biden’s getting forced out, telling a virtual meeting of the convention’s rulemaking arm, “In the darkness of night, we see our brightest stars.”

The plan was approved in more than 90 minutes of online discussion that featured little objection.

It requires Harris, and any other potential Democrat willing to challenge her, to submit 300 electronic signatures from convention delegates, not more than 50 of whom can be from the same state, by the evening of July 30.

If multiple candidates qualify, it could spark multiple rounds of voting over several days. But, if Harris is the only candidate, voting would begin Aug. 1.

Delegates voting “uncommitted,” or for another candidate who hasn’t qualified under the rules, will have their choices converted simply to “present.”

Delegates will receive ballots via secure email. The process will be designed not only to formally nominate Harris, but to eventually do the same for her vice presidential selection prior to Aug. 7—giving her a tight window to pick a running mate.

Whom she might choose is unclear. Early favorites include Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, but potentially half a dozen other candidates are being considered.

After powerful party leaders including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi threatened to invoke the 25th Amendment to have him declared unfit, Biden dropped out of the race last weekend and endorsed Harris. Hundreds of Democratic members of Congress and governors, as well as leading labor unions and activist organizations have since backed her to replace him.

An Associated Press survey of delegates to the convention also revealed that the vice president has the support of well more than the 1,976 delegates she’ll need to win on a first ballot. However, considering Biden had their unwavering support less than a week ago, that loyalty could well turn should another more seductive option lure them away.

The party is pushing ahead with the virtual voting process because it says it can’t wait until the convention starts to formally choose its nominee. It blames a deadline to appear on the Ohio ballot stating that candidates must be selected by Aug. 7.

Ohio state lawmakers there have since changed that, but the modification doesn’t take effect until Sept. 1—and DNC attorneys warn that waiting until after the initial deadline to determine a presidential nominee could prompt legal challenges.

“Our party remains steadfast to an open, fair and transparent nominating process,” claimed Minyon Moore, chair of the Democratic convention. “We will do this right.”

Why This Podcast Host Called Kamala the ‘Original Hawk Tuah Girl’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Podcast host Alec Lace ignited leftist backlash after referring to Vice President Kamala Harris as the “original Hawk Tuah girl.” The viral catchphrase “Hawk Tuah” is used to describe oral sex.

“She’s the original ‘Hawk Tuah’ girl,” Lace said during a July 5 appearance on Fox Business’s The Bottom Line. “That’s the way she got where she is; and the party’s going downhill if it’s in her hands.”

The phrase “Hawk Tuah” became popular after a TikTok video featuring influencer Haliey Welch went viral. In the video, Welch was asked to name a “move in bed that makes a man go crazy every time.”

Referring to oral sex, Welch responded, “You gotta give ’em that ‘hawk tuah’ and spit on that thang.” The phrase has gained Welch nearly 2 million Instagram followers, brand endorsements and podcast bookings.

Lace’s sexual comparison to Harris drew criticism from the left. However, he doubled down on his comments in a series of tweets.

“Did I go too far on FOX News calling Kamala Harris the OG Hawk Tuah girl or am I right over the target?” he asked, sharing a clip of his Fox Business remarks.

It isn’t immediately clear what Lace’s remarks referred to, however, they coincide with the re-emergence of Harris’s extra-marital relationship with Willie Brown in the late 1990s.

Brown, a powerful Democratic leader in San Francisco who later became the city’s mayor, dated Harris while he was married to Blanche Vitero Brown. The two had been separated for several years before.

Brown has long been hailed as the force that propelled Harris’s political career, appointing her to two state commissions that the SF Weekly described as “patronage” positions. He also gifted Harris an “expensive BMW.”

As reported by the SF Weekly, Harris earned over $400,000 in five years from one commission and $99,000 a year for a role at the California Medical Assistance Commission, which required only two meetings a month.

Harris eventually ran for San Francisco district attorney in 2003, during which she had to defend her ties to Brown.

“These jobs were created before I was born,” Harris claimed. “Whether you agree or disagree with the system, I did the work.”

Democratic operatives, including MSNBC hosts, argue that raising questions about Harris’s ties to Brown constitutes misogyny.

Tellingly, MSNBC was one of the main outlets reporting on demonstrably false and salacious claims about “golden showers” and President Donald Trump in 2018.

“New book’s scoop could clarify dossier’s ‘Trump pee tape’ claim,” reads an MSNBC headline, while another read, “Comey: Trump said he talked about beauty of hookers with Putin.”

Pushing back against the misogyny line of defense, podcast host Megyn Kelly said, “I will not be shamed out of discussing this by people who say it’s slut shaming or it’s not relevant.”

Kelly added, “It is relevant when a young candidate tries to sleep her way into politics and into power. And that is what it appears Kamala Harris did when she was a young, political aspirant in San Francisco when she had an affair with a man 30 years older than she was.”

Trump, on the other hand, has exclusively criticized Harris for her record as a prosecutor and vice president.

‘A Miracle’: Norteña Band’s Song on Trump Assassination Attempt Goes Viral

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A Norteño band has expressed their faith in a viral song about the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump, citing divine intervention as the reason it failed.

Released by faith-based Grupo Norteño Gethsemani de Los Angeles, the song is a Corrido, a type of narrative ballad, and has garnered millions of views on social media platforms, particularly Twitter.

“His head, was the target, deliver death to the target,” the Spanish song begins, spanning over two minutes.

“Who knows the reason why they don’t want Trump living — but a miracle happened because he missed that shot,” the song continues, accompanied by video footage of the violent incident at the Trump rally.

Recounting the shooting in the traditional Corrido style, the band adds, “In the middle of the screams, other shots were heard. The agents delivered death… immediately to that bandit.”

Podcast host J. Marie first tweeted the music video on Sunday, captioning it, “Donald Trump has been immortalized in norteño music.”

Independent journalist Anthony Cabassa reshared the clip, garnering over 2.6 million views. Pro-America First Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., also shared the video with a “VIVA Donald Trump!” — meaning “Long live, Donald Trump!”

The song was released on YouTube on July 16, three days after Trump survived the vicious assassination attempt by 22-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks. Harrowing footage of the shooting showed a bullet grazing Trump’s head by mere centimeters.

While Trump survived the shooting, former fire chief Corey Comperatore was fatally shot while heroically shielding his wife and daughter from the bullets. Trump supporters watched in shock as Secret Service agents jumped to protect the president, saving his life.

In the song, the Norteño band recounts the emotional shooting: “Donald Trump got up, raising his two hands, he said, “Here I am! Let’s keep fighting! And the people were ecstatic.”

This would not mark the first time a pro-Trump Hispanic song gains virality. In the lead-up to the 2020 election, the Trump campaign released the “Latinos for Donald Trump,” ad, which featured the catchy chorus, “On God, I will vote for Donald Trump,” sung in Spanish.

80-Yr-Old Man Brutally Run Over While Placing Trump Signs in Michigan

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) An 80-year-old man was run over as he placed signs in support of President Donald Trump outside his Michigan home—just days after Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally.

A 22-year-old man was identified as a suspect after he allegedly called law enforcement to confess to the crime. He fatally shot himself upon the deputies’ arrival, the Hancock Police Department announced on Tuesday.

The incident began when the 22-year-old man, while driving an ATV, tore the Trump signs from the 80-year-old man’s front yard.

As the victim attempted to lift and restore the signs, the suspect allegedly drove over him, causing near-fatal injuries, according to police.

“The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and remains in critical condition,” the police said in a press release.

Hancock Police Chief Tami Sleeman affirmed in a Tuesday with Michigan’s WLUC that the man is battling for life following the disturbing attack.

Headline USA has reached out to Sleeman seeking any updates on the victim’s recovery as of Wednesday evening.

According to the Houghton County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect called law enforcement the following day to “confess to a crime involving an ATV driver within the last 24 hours” and requested they “send someone to pick” him up.

Upon their arrival, officers found the man deceased with a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“The crimes reported in the city of Hancock appear to be politically motivated, involving victims who displayed Trump election signs as well as law enforcement appreciation stickers and flags commonly referred to as the ‘thin blue line’ paraphernalia,” the sheriff’s office wrote.

The assault occurred nine days after Trump’s right ear was grazed by a bullet in a failed assassination attempt at a Butler, Pennsylvania rally.

The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, fatally shot Trump supporter Corey Comperatore, a beloved former firefighter chief who died while protecting his wife and daughters.

The recent anti-Trump violence has ignited calls for the Democratic Party to tone down its rhetoric against Trump and his supporters as President Joe Biden has bafflingly dubbed Trump as a “threat” to democracy.

Just days before the assassination attempt, Biden had said Trump should be in the “bullseye.” When questioned about this rhetoric, Biden admitted it was a “mistake.”

WATCH: Matt Walsh Plans to Take on Racism in Upcoming Documentary

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Two years after releasing his What Is a Woman documentary about the “transgender” ideology, conservative podcaster Matt Walsh of the Daily Wire released a trailer for his upcoming film, Am I Racist, which will be released in movie theaters.

The Wire released a trailer for the upcoming documentary on July 23, 2024. The trailer showed that Walsh would be researching the anti-white and anti-American movement by exploring literature and interviewing leftist “experts.”

The New York Post reported that the news company plans to release his new documentary on Sept. 13, 2024.

“If I’m going to sort this out, I need to go deeper undercover. If I want to be an ally, I need to look like one,” Walsh said, referring to his decision to put on a wig to look like a leftist.

The trailer showed how Walsh infiltrated a feast convened by the far-left and anti-white supper club Race2Dinner last year, during which primarily white female guests were lectured about how racist America is and how horrible white people are.

The news source reported that Race2Dinner organizes private sessions that reportedly cost women up to $5,000 to dine with its co-founders Regina Jackson and Saira Rao for about two hours to discuss “white supremacy, racism and xenophobia.”

“Let’s be clear, what’s happening in this country — it’s Nazism. Republicans are Nazis. You cannot separate yourself from the bad white people,” Rao said in the trailer.

In addition to his wig, Walsh wore a face mask to hide his identity from the women while serving them food.

“The entire system has to burn. And I’m not even going to use ‘save this country.’ This country is not worth saving. This country is a piece of s—,” Rao said.

The trailer also showed Walsh interviewing Robin DiAngelo, author of White Fragility.

“I can’t think of a more appropriate film for the Daily Wire’s first original theatrical release than ‘Am I Racist?,’” the Daily Wire co-CEO Jeremy Boreing said.

He added that it is important to ensure that everybody sees this documentary and not just regular consumers of the news company.

“We want the film to reach every corner of America, not just the Daily Wire’s core audience or political conservatives, and I truly believe with a nationwide theatrical release, this film has the power to be the final nail in the coffin of the DEI and the so-called ‘antiracism’ movements,” Boreing said.

Trump Turns Sights on “Lyin’ Kamala” in First Rally Since Biden Dropped from Race

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) CHARLOTTE, N.C.—After trouncing President Joe Biden in the polls so badly that he was abandoned by his own party, presidential frontrunner Donald Trump has turned his attention to his next foe: Vice President Kamala Harris—or as Trump deemed her, “Lyin’ Kamala.”

Trump didn’t mince his words about his new challenger when addressing a packed crowd Wednesday at the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“Kamala has been driving force behind every disastrous Biden policy,” Trump said, calling her the worst vice president in U.S. history.

“I was supposed to be nice. They said something happened to me when I was shot. I became nice,” Trump noted, setting the tone for a high-energy speech that attacked Harris on numerous fronts. “When you’re dealing with these people, you can’t be nice.”

Trump hit Harris particularly hard on immigration. The so-called “border czar,” he said that Harris never actually visited the border (she did make a trip to El Paso in June 2021 in an allegedly “sanitized” visit).

Trump said Harris has presided over millions of illegal border crossings, referencing the now-famous immigration chart that saved his life on July 13—it’s widely believed that him turning his head to look at the chart is the reason the assassin’s bullet only grazed his ear.

Trump also poked fun at Harris’s campaign strategy.

“‘I’m the prosecutor; he’s the convicted felon.’ That’s their campaign. I don’t think they’re going to buy it,” Trump said, recounting Harris’s support for allowing violent felons out of jail.

Trump then raised a more serious point about Harris’s track record as vice president. He noted that she was a part of the conspiracy to cover up Biden’s declining cognitive abilities. He asked: If she couldn’t be trusted to notify the public about the President’s failing health, how can she be trusted for anything else?

“He can be President, but he can’t stand trial. What’s that about?” Trump said, referencing Special Counsel Robert Hur’s decision not to prosecute Biden because of his poor memory.

“If Kamala will lie to you so brazenly about Joe’s mental capacity, she’ll lie to you about anything. And she’s unfit to lead, just like Joe.”

Along with making serious points about Harris, Trump went old school—throwing the crowd red meat with his signature slogan: “Kamala: You’re fired! Get out of here!”
