Biden DHS Resumes Infamous Program Despite Exposed Fraud

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The Biden-led DHS has reinstated a controversial parole program that allows up to 30,000 foreigners from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua and Venezuela to enter the U.S. without crossing the border illegally.

The Advance Travel Authorizations (ATAs) program had been suspended after an internal report uncovered fraudulent documents, including fake beneficiary profiles and dubious financial records.

A DHS spokesperson told Fox News that the program will not impose additional scrutiny on submitted documents, such as fingerprinting U.S.-based supporters or conducting more thorough criminal and financial background checks.

“DHS is committed to holding accountable individuals who commit fraud or attempt to exploit others for gain,” the spokesperson said. “Any individual found to have committed fraud or other abuse will be referred to law enforcement for potential prosecution.”

Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform—the group that first exposed the fraud—minced no words in his response to the program’s reinstatement.

“DHS has given no indication that they are going to investigate past fraud or move to revoke the parole statuses of those who gained it fraudulently,” Stein said in a statement. “‘What’s done, is done,’ is not an acceptable plan for dealing with past fraud or instilling confidence in the program moving forward.”

The Biden-Harris administration launched the program in October 2022 for Venezuelan nationals but expanded it in January 2023 to include Haitians, Nicaraguans and Cubans.

According to congressional sources cited by Fox News, DHS stopped issuing parole to Venezuelans on July 6 and to other nationalities on July 18 following the discovery of fraud.

Applicants must demonstrate they have U.S.-based sponsors capable of financially supporting their stay while they receive temporary parole protections. Applications can be submitted from their home countries through the USCIS website.

As reported by Fox, FAIR uncovered that 3,218 individuals had posed as the sponsors for a staggering 100,948 applications. This hinted at the existence of massive fraudulent claims.

The program’s weak security, which exposed it to fraud, underscores another failure by the Biden-Harris administration in managing the self-created border crisis.

“The CHNV program was established without congressional authorization and in violation of statutory requirements that parole be granted only on a case-by-case basis for explicit national interest or humanitarian purposes,” Stein said on Aug. 2.

‘Frankenstein Campaign’: Staffers Say Kamala’s White House Bid Marked by Tension, Confusion

(Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign has been marked by tension and confusion in recent weeks as it struggles to come up with a cohesive game plan for the Democrat, according to Axios.

Harris’s team is largely made up of the vice president’s own aides, Barack Obama alumni, and a few holdovers from Biden’s abandoned campaign. The result is a “Frankenstein”-like campaign, according to six people involved in it.

“The entanglement of these different entities has led to many people feeling a real lack of role clarity,” one source told the outlet.

In particular, Biden’s former staffers said they feel as though they’ve been sidelined by Harris’s aides.

The top “question” in the campaign among staffers is, “‘Who is the first among equals with the vice president?'” a second source said.

“It’s just a mad dash,” someone else explained. “Things are colliding occasionally, but it’s not malicious.”

Harris’s campaign has particularly struggled to nail down its message on policy, with some Biden staffers expressing frustration that they have to defend Harris’s past endorsements of radical leftist policies, such as Medicare for All and her support for a ban on fracking.

They also see some vindication for Biden now that Harris is flipping her position on such issues.

In the past couple of weeks alone, Harris’s campaign has flipped the vice president’s positions on Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, fracking, electric vehicle mandates, building the border wall, and criminalizing illegal immigration, to name a few.

However, in her first sit-down interview since launching her campaign this summer, Harris undermined her campaign’s efforts to distance her from the Democratic Party’s extreme left-wing.

“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris told CNN in a clip of the interview released Thursday.

Jen Psaki and Don Lemon Peeved that Black Voters Support Trump

(Headline USA) MSNBC host Jen Psaki appeared shocked this week when former CNN host Don Lemon told her many black voters he’s talked to said they plan to back former President Donald Trump in November, Mediaite reported.

Psaki, who previously served as President Joe Biden’s press secretary, asked Lemon about his recent interviews with voters in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Many of them expressed support for Trump because of his economic policies.

“There were a lot of black men, Jen, who said they were supporting Donald Trump simply because he gave them a stimulus check,” Lemon complained.

“He gave them $1200 back when he was president,” the ousted CNN host continued. “They did not somehow remember that the current president also gave them a stimulus check, except his name wasn’t on it.”

Government spending—including the COVID era stimulus checks necessitated by Democrat-led shutdowns of many workplaces—helped to spur the massive inflation that occurred on Biden’s watch, adding annual costs to family expenses that go well beyond the stimulus amounts.

Lemon went on to admit that it was “eye-opening” to hear so many “people of color and women saying they are going to support” Trump.

When asked what the voters thought of Vice President Kamala Harris, Lemon admitted that voters didn’t think highly of her.

“For the most part, in Pittsburgh or at the Jersey Shore and Atlantic City, in Ohio especially, many people did not know who she was,” Lemon claimed. “They were not familiar with her. So I think she has to reintroduce herself to the public.”

While Harris’s campaign, with considerable help from a complicit mainstream media, has attempted to exploit her relative anonymity by gaslighting voters about her support for radical policies, a CNN sit-down interview that Harris conducted on Thursday might mark the end of her honeymoon phase.

On the other hand, Trump, the GOP presidential nominee for the third-consecutive election cycle, earned high marks among voters because “they thought he is better for the economy,” Lemon noted. “Again, that he brought money into the community or that he was on black people’s side.”

Psaki and Lemon went on to complain about Trump’s support among black voters because of how “racist” he is.

“Of course I think he is racist,” Lemon told Psaki. “Look at his rhetoric and his track record, and anyone can see that.”

But black voters care more about “how much or how little money they had in their pockets,” he added.

Media Condemn Trump Post, Ignore Vulgarity Toward Him, Vance

Editor’s Note: This article includes quotes with sexual language that some readers may find offensive.

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Despite turning a blind eye to sexual jokes aimed at Sen. JD Vance, some leftist media outlets clutched their pearls over Truth Social post by President Donald Trump.

The post, allegedly shared on Wednesday, targeted Vice President Kamala Harris and twice-failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. It featured a screenshot of a photo of the two women, accompanied by the comment: “Funny how blowjobs impacted both their careers differently…”

The photo likely referred to former President Bill Clinton’s affair with his White House intern Monica Lewinsky and to Harris’s affair with then-Speaker of the California Assembly Willie Brown.

It’s unclear whether Trump noticed the caption before re-posting it on Truth Social. He appeared to have removed it from his page, a Headline USA review of his page found.

Media pundits sharply criticized Trump for the photo, with CNN anchor Anderson Cooper leading the charge, accusing the former president of taking the attacks “to a whole other level.”

These attacks on Trump stand in stark contrast to how the media has covered vulgar remarks directed at Trump and his running mate, Vance, by Democrats.

For example, at the Democratic National Convention, former President Barack Obama made a not-so-subtle joke about the “size” of Trump’s crowds, using hand gestures typically associated with describing male genitalia.

Throughout the DNC, several Democrats – including Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D- Mass., and Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo. – repeatedly referenced the sickening fake claims that Vance had sex with a “couch.”

Their sexual attacks followed Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s similar jab when he was announced as Harris’s running mate.

“I can’t wait to debate this guy. That’s if he’s willing to get off the couch and show up,” Walz said at a rally in Philadelphia earlier this month.

The media’s coverage of these crude jokes targeting Trump and Vance was overwhelmingly positive, exposing yet another instance of media hypocrisy.

NPR Concocts Fake-News Smear Claiming Trump Scuffled w/ Arlington Cemetery Staff

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) With leftist media outlets openly carrying water for Democrat nominee Kamala Harris ahead of the November election, a visit by President Donald Trump this week to meet with Gold Star families on the third anniversary of the Biden–Harris Afghanistan fiasco left many in the media seething over the positive optics it afforded the former president.

In response, far-left state-funded outlet NPR fabricated a story claiming that Trump had an altercation with the Arlington National Cemetery staff, Breitbart reported.

Trump visited the graves of fallen service members on Monday for a wreath-laying ceremony, held in honor of the 13 fallen service members who lost their lives in an August 2021 suicide bombing as military officials were attempting to airlift desparate Afghan citizens out of Kabul when the Taliban seized power following U.S. withdrawal.

NPR’s hit piece claimed that “[t]wo members of Donald Trump’s campaign staff had a verbal and physical altercation Monday with an official at Arlington National Cemetery.”

The dispute, it later clarified, had to do with an Arlington Cemetery staffer attempting to enforce a no-photo rule in a certain part of the cemetery.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung, however, dismissed the claim in a post on X.

Cheung said that an “unnamed individual” had “decided to physically block members of President Trump’s team,” including the photographer, who had permission to be there.

According to Cheung, the Trump team has camera footage to back up their story.

“There was no physical altercation as described and we are prepared to release footage if such defamatory claims are made,” he warned, adding that someone undergoing a “mental health episode” decided to “physically block members of President Trump’s team during a very solemn ceremony.”

The Trump campaign said it had received permission from the Gold Star families to attend the event with a photographer present, and even issued a letter of gratitude that the former President attended the ceremony.

Nonetheless, Cheung’s explanation did not stop NPR from claiming that Trump’s “campaign staff verbally abused and pushed the official aside” as he tried to enforce photography rules.”

NPR was duly mocked on Twitter for publishing fake news. One Twitter user called the event “sickening.”

REPORT: Kamala Harris’s Past Resumes Include No Mention of McDonald’s Job

(Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris has claimed multiple times since launching her presidential campaign that one of her earliest jobs was at McDonald’s.

However, that job title is missing from a job application and resume she submitted in college, according to the Washington Free Beacon.

Some accused the latest scandal of being another example of “stolen valor,” referring to the false claims of her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, about his military service.

Harris first touted her supposed career at McDonald’s when she launched her campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2019, telling actress Drew Barrymore, “Yes, I did work at McDonald’s. When I was at school … I did fries. And then I did the cashier.”

That claim has since become a focal point of Harris’s campaign as she tries to connect to working-class Americans.

“Vice President Harris is the daughter of a working mother and worked at a McDonald’s to put herself through college,” campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt claimed this month.

A pro-Harris super PAC released an ad last month that said she “work[ed] her way through school at McDonald’s.”

Echoing the talking point, Walz, said at a campaign rally, “You knew Vice President Harris grew up in a middle-class family, picked up shifts at a McDonald’s as a student. I keep asking this to make a contrast here. Can you simply picture Donald Trump working at a McDonald’s trying to make a McFlurry or something?”

And former president Bill Clinton, during his speech at the Democratic National Convention, joked that “she’ll break my record as president who has spent the most time at McDonald’s.”

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Harris never claimed employment at McDonald’s in any available public records from that time.

She did not mention the job in either of her memoirs—the first released in July 2010 and the second in January 2019. And the two biographies written about Harris make no reference to the McDonald’s job either.

A job application Harris submitted in October 1987 did not include the McDonald’s position either, even though it asked her to list every position she had held in the last 10 years, the outlet reported.

She did, however, include “extensive travel in India, Africa, Europe” and “lived in Montreal, Canada for six years” as relevant life experience.

Harris previously lied about the fact that she had visited Europe while attempting to deflect on her negligence as the Biden administration’s border czar in an interview with NBC’s Lester Holt.

Biden Rages after Courts Block Amnesty Schemes for Illegal Aliens, Student-Loan Deadbeats

(Headline USA) Federal courts this week shut down two different “amesty” schemes that President Joe Biden had pushed as ways to win additional votes while he was still the presumptive Democrat nominee.

A federal judge in Texas on Monday paused a controversial Biden–Harris policy to give spouses of U.S. citizens a fast-track to legal status.

The plan, which Biden unveiled in June, was set to take effect prior to the November election, would have added an estimated half a million new voters but faced challenges from a coalition of conservative watchdog groups and policymakers, including America First Legal.

The administrative stay issued by U.S. District Judge J. Campbell Barker came just days after 16 states, led by Republican attorneys general, accused the administration of bypassing Congress for “blatant political purposes.”

The court order, which lasts for two weeks but could be extended, came a week after the Department of Homeland Security began accepting applications.

One of the states leading the challenge was Texas. The lawsuit argued that the state has had to pay tens of millions of dollars annually from health care to law enforcement because of illegals living in the state.

“The claims are substantial and warrant closer consideration than the court has been able to afford to date,” wrote Barker, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump in 2019 to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, which lies in the same bailiwick as the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

The judge laid out a timetable that could produce a decision shortly before the presidential election Nov. 5 or before a newly elected president takes office in January. Barker gave both sides until Oct. 10 to file briefs in the case.

Biden, while vacationing in Rehoboth Beach this week, lashed out in reaction to the news.

“… I am not interested in playing politics with the border or immigration; I am interested in solving problems,” he falsely claimed in a statement released by the White House.

“Nor am I interested in tearing families apart,” he added. “That is not who we are as Americans. I will continue to fight to secure our border and fix our broken immigration system.”

However, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican, cheered the order.

“This is just the first step. We are going to keep fighting for Texas, our country, and the rule of law,” Paxton posted on X.

In a post reacting to Biden’s rant, Paxton called out the president for lying about the scope of the amnesty proposal.

Separately on Wednesday, the U.S. Supreme Court shut down Biden’s latest attempt at student-loan amnesty.

A lower court had already blocked the effort, following SCOTUS’s earlier precedent telling Biden’s Department of Education that such measures would require legislative action from Congress to be legitimate.

In a unanimous decision, however, the high court unanimously denied a request for an emergency appeal, kicking it back to the lower courts for their ruling.

“[W]e are disappointed in this decision, particularly because lifting the injunction would have allowed for lower payments and other benefits for borrowers across the country,” a DOE spokesperson said in a statement, according to Nevada Current.

However, the Democrat administration planned on working “to minimize further harm and disruption to borrowers as we await a final decision from the Eighth Circuit,” the spokesperson added. “[T]he Biden–Harris Administration remains committed to supporting borrowers and will continue to fight for the most affordable repayment options for millions of people across the country.”

Some social-media users seemed to believe that the lame-duck president would not relent in his efforts to find workaround loopholes that would allow recent college graduates—and some long-term absconders—to game the system at the expense of other taxpayers.

Biden already indicated that he would seek to take revenge on the Supreme Court for thwarting his agenda when he unveiled a raft of reforms that would impose term limits on justices—and which some suspected was a prelude to court-packing.

For now, the so-called reforms appear to be a non-starter since they would require support from the Republican-led House, as well as having parts that would likely require a new amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

However, should Vice President Kamala Harris and her socialist sidekick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, be elected to complete Biden’s handiwork, Democrats have signaled that they would push hard for measures that would roll back any existing constitutional checks on their power.

“President Biden and I are calling on Congress to pass important reforms—from imposing term limits for Justices’ active service, to requiring Justices to comply with binding ethics rules just like every other federal judge,” Harris said last month in a statement, according to WGME.

WATCH: Kamala Reportedly Bombs Friendly Interview w/ CNN, Cuts Short after 18 Min.

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) Far-left CNN correspondent Dana Bash is fast becoming the Trump campaign’s MVP.

For the second time in just over two months, Bash may have helped derail a Democratic presidential candidate, following rumors that her interview with Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz “did not go well,” social media influencer and blogger Alex Muse posted on X.

A truncated version of the inverview was due to air Thursday at 9 p.m. Eastern on CNN, and it will be streamed via the CNN website and apps, the network said in a blog post on Monday.

According to Muse’s sources, however, CNN may be obliged to fill the remaining time with an “inspirational video” about the Democrat duo, raising questions about whether the propagandist network will give Republican nominee Donald Trump equal free advertising and also allow him also to cut short an interview.

In an article posted on Thursday afternoon, roughly five hours prior to the scheduled airtime, CNN teased snippets of the Harris interview, which took place in Savannah, Ga., ahead of Harris’s scheduled evening rally in the swing state.

The article made no mention of the interview going awry, although the clips of Harris’s responses suggested that her candor threatened to undermine recent efforts to gaslight the public.

In one of the clips, Bash pressed Harris on her flip-flops, which have come as a shock to many, particularly because Harris has appeared to endorse many of the same policies proposed by Trump.

Harris seemingly acknowledged that, following the same playbook as Biden and former President Barack Obama, the campaign’s aim was simply to dupe voters into thinking she was more moderate than she actually was.

“I think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed,” Harris said.

“You mentioned the Green New Deal,” she added, taking ownership of the controversial plan that called for the government to restrict air travel, ban hamburgers and regulate cow farts. “I have always believed—and I have worked on it—that the climate crisis is real, that it is an urgent matter to which we should apply metrics that include holding ourselves to deadlines around time.”

Despite her belief that radical measures need to be taken in order to attain net-zero emissions within a decade, Harris has softened her stance on fracking to appease voters in Pennsylvania, another battleground state that is likely to play a pivotal role in the election.

But on Thursday, she appeared once again to backpedal to her original position.

“We have set goals for the United States of America and by extension, the globe, around when we should meet certain standards for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, as an example,” she said. “That value has not changed.”

In another clip, Bash sought to deflate the Trump’s recent endorsements by notable ex-Democrats Elon Musk, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard—all of whom would likely play significant roles in his coalition government—by asking Harris if she would appoint a RINO to her Cabinet.

“Yes, I would. No one in particular in mind—I’ve got 68 days till this election, so I’m not putting the cart before the horse, but I would,” she claimed vaguely.

“I think it’s really important—I have spent my career inviting diversity of opinion,” she continued. “I think it’s important to have people at the table, when some of the most important decisions are being made, that have different views, different experiences, and I think it would be to the benefit of the American public if we have a member of my Cabinet who was a Republican.”

Although Democrats viciously attacked Trump for answering a question from a black journalist about Harris’s race,” Bash set up a softball for Harris by inviting her to attack Trump in the context of his earlier criticism.

“Same old, tired playbook,” Harris said. “Next question, please.”

However, it remained unclear how many other questions Harris refused to answer meaningfully.

Muse noted that CNN was refusing to release the transcript of the full interview, leaving it a mystery as to what, exactly, went wrong for it to have been abruptly cut short.

The cover-up called to mind the Justice Department’s refusal to release a full recording of President Joe Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur, which resulted in Attorney General Merrick Garland being held in contempt of Congress.

The DOJ opted instead to release a transcript of the interview, which many Republicans suspected had been generously edited to cast the 81-year-old incumbent—who was, at the time, the Democrats’ presumptive presidential candidate—in a more favorable light.

In his report, however, Hur confirmed that Biden gave seemingly incoherent answers and failed to recall basic details as the primary justification for deciding not to prosecute the president—who was found to have flagrantly disregarded federal law for securing classified documents, with some instances dating back decades, to his time as a U.S. senator.

“Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” Hur noted.

The extent of Biden’s cognitive decline became abundantly clear to the public after a June debate with Trump that was moderated by Bash and fellow far-left CNN host Jake Tapper.

Panicked Democrats spent the next several weeks plotting a coup to oust the duly elected Democrat nominee, settling on a plan to threaten to have him declared unfit for office under the Constitution’s 25th Amendment.

Although Harris had been regarded as one of the least popular vice presidents in modern history, Biden’s endorsement of her paved the way for a whiplash-inducing, astroturfed campaign during which media’s doting coverage has reached heretofore unprecedented levels, while Harris has avoided any unscripted, off-the-cuff situations that might remind voters of who she really is.

EXCLUSIVE: Rep. Bishop Reacts to FBI’s Blatant Mishandling of Horrific Child Sex Crimes

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz released a shocking report Thursday on the FBI’s mishandling of child sex abuse cases—finding that the bureau botched dozens of cases, some so badly that they required immediate attention.

Horowitz’s report stems from a DOJ-OIG investigation launched into the FBI’s mishandling of sex abuse allegations against USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar. While the FBI implemented numerous policy reforms in response to that scandal, Horowitz’s Thursday follow-up report found that the bureau isn’t following those policies.

According to Horowitz, the FBI opened 3,925 cases involving a hands-on sex offense against a child between Oct. 1, 2021, and Feb. 26, 2023. The DOJ-OIG reviewed 179 of those cases as well as 48 other complaints and 100 leads among FBI offices—and found that agents failed to follow proper guidelines in more than 50% of the reviewed incidents, and failed to fully document more than 80% of them.

And according to Horowitz, 42 of the cases were mishandled so badly that the DOJ-OIG flagged them for immediate attention.

The examples of FBI negligence are horrific.

In one case, the FBI opened an investigation into a registered sex offender that was allegedly abusing a child, but then let the case go dormant for over a year.

“During this period, the subject allegedly victimized at least one additional minor for a period of approximately 15 months. After we raised this incident to the FBI’s attention, the FBI took appropriate action, and the subject was indicted on federal charges,” Horowitz said.

In another example, the FBI received an anonymous complaint in May 2022 of sex trafficking of unknown minors. In that case, agents waited five months before taking their first investigative steps—and when they did, they found their subject was a convicted felon with access to children, according to Horowitz. The DOJ-OIG report didn’t disclose the outcome of that case.

In yet another example, the FBI received allegations in September 2022 that a convicted sex offender was trafficking minors.

The bureau promptly opened an investigation. But when the DOJ-OIG reviewed the case in September 2023, it found that agents found that no “substantive investigative activity” was undertaken, and that the most recent documentation added to the file was over 5 months old.

“In response to our concerns, the FBI stated that the original case agent was transferred and an administrative oversight had delayed the reassignment of the case. It also stated the FBI field office had reassigned the investigation and was conducting appropriate follow-up investigative activity,” Horowitz said, adding that the bureau hasn’t found any evidence of sex trafficking in that case.

The DOJ-OIG recommended the FBI implement a method to ensure that its agents and employees comply with the policy reforms enacted in the wake of the Nassar scandal. The FBI concurred.

For Rep. Dan Bishop, R-NC, the DOJ-OIG report is the latest evidence that the FBI has sacrificed legitimate casework in its zeal to target political dissidents.

“Something seems to be distracting the FBI from addressing child sexual assault tips in accordance with its standards,” Bishop said in a comment to Headline USA.

“What comes to mind for me is that the whistleblower Steven Friend was told to drop his child sex abuse caseload in order to monitor folks’ attendance at school board meetings and handle investigative tasks decreed from Washington against J6 suspects. This is another indication that political weaponization of the FBI has eroded its basic capabilities,” said Bishop, who’s running to be North Carolina’s next attorney general.

Bishop was referring to former FBI agent Steve Friend, whose first six years in the bureau were spent tackling crime on Indian reservations and investigating child sex abuse cases. Friend was reassigned from child sex crimes to Jan. 6 cases in September 2021.

Since he turned whistleblower in 2022, Friend has repeatedly accused the FBI of ignoring child sex abuse cases in favor of Jan. 6 prosecutions.

Silver Saving Honey Bees and Other Silver News

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) Silver is an important element in the quest to save dying honey bee colonies, according to the latest edition of the Silver Institute’s Silver News.

There has been a worldwide collapse of bee hives in recent years. In the U.S. alone, beekeepers lost hundreds of thousands of bee colonies in every quarter of 2023.

An antibiotic bacteria called American Foulbrood (AFB) is one of the primary threats to bee health. Researchers in Egypt and Saudi Arabia have discovered that a combination of bee venom and silver nanoparticles may be effective in fighting this bacteria.

When administered to hives through a sugary syrup, the silver/venom concoction prolonged bee lifespans from 27 to 40 days.

In their tests, scientists found no detrimental effects from the application of bee venom and silver nanoparticles to hives.

“Bee venom and silver nanoparticles show promise as alternative treatments for AFB, without detrimental effects on honeybee life span. Future research could explore the application of BV/Ag NPs in beekeeping practices for combating honeybee diseases and promoting their overall well-being.”

This was just one of several interesting stories reported in the latest edition of Silver News. Here are some of the other highlights:

  • Clothing embedded with silver nanoparticles can reflect body heat, keeping the wearer warmer. Now, University of Chicago researchers say silver-embedded clothing could help keep you cool. They have developed a textile whose top layer allows heat to escape while a middle layer of silver nanowires blocks heat from the environment. At the same time, an inner woolen layer moves heat from the skin to the middle layer. This configuration keeps the wearer cooler than everyday clothing.
  • Surprise! Olympic gold medals are mostly silver. Many people are surprised to learn that the gold and silver medals are both composed of about the same amount of silver. The only difference is that the first-place medals are gold-plated.
  • Smarter Surfaces has developed a silver paint for projection surfaces that facilitates the display of 3D images. Company officials claim that their product allows the metal’s properties to enhance a viewer’s experience of projected images, especially in 3D.
  • Engineers have been working on processes to convert greenhouse gases such as carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide into environmentally-friendly fuels. Researchers at Japan’s Doshisha University have produced hydrocarbon fuel from carbon dioxide in the air using a silver electrode immersed in a liquid made up of water and ammonium tetrafluoroborate.
  • Cameroon has issued a 2024, one-ounce, .999 silver coin in the shape of magician Harry Houdini’s famous water torture cell escape.
