Whistleblower: Secret Service Interfering w/ Inspector General’s Trump Shooting Investigation

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) A federal whistleblower has disclosed that Secret Service management is allegedly interfering with the ongoing DHS Inspector General’s investigation into the July 13 assassination attempt against Donald Trump.

Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, publicized the whistleblower disclosure in a Wednesday letter to Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe. The senator said the whistleblower has shown him an email from Secret Service management, telling its agents to inform their bosses if they get called by the DHS Inspector General for an interview.

“This is NOT the normal course of action and the Service needs awareness…to ensure an organized response,” the email said, according to Grassley.

“If this email is an accurate representation of the actions taken by Secret Service management, it could have a chilling effect on its employees from fully cooperating and providing information to the DHS OIG as well as congressional investigations out of fear of retaliation since supervisors will apparently be keeping tabs on their communications,” Grassley said in his letter to Rowe.

“The Secret Service should be encouraging its employees to come forward to provide truthful information to the DHS OIG and Congress so that lessons can be learned to prevent future assassination attempts.”

Grassley asked Rowe to provide him with all records regarding communications related to providing information to the DHS OIG and congressional investigation into the July 13 attempted assassination. He wants those records by Nov. 12.

Grassley’s letter follows a separate whistleblower disclosure earlier this month, in which it was alleged that the Secret Service is blocking Homeland Security auditors from accessing all of Donald Trump’s campaign events, in an attempt to hide the fact that Trump isn’t receiving sufficient protection.

“A Secret Service whistleblower has alleged to my office that Secret Service headquarters blocked several auditors from the Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General (OIG) from accessing recent Trump campaign events,” Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., told Rowe earlier this month.

“The whistleblower alleges that the Secret Service denied access to DHS auditors because the former president is not receiving the full level of protective assets for all of his events, and Secret Service leadership wants to obscure or simply conceal this fact.”

Third Quarter Gold Demand Breaks Record

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) Gold demand set a third-quarter record, driving the price to a series of record highs.

Including over-the-counter (OTC) sales, gold demand came in at 1,313 tons in Q3, a 5 percent year-on-year increase.

The gold price averaged a record $2,474 an ounce in the third quarter. That represented a 28 percent year-on-year increase.

The total value of third-quarter demand rose by 35 percent and exceeded $100 billion for the first time.

Flows of gold into ETFs were a significant demand driver. Globally, gold-backed funds increased their holdings by 95 tons. It was the first quarter of positive ETF growth since the first quarter of 2022. As the World Gold Council put it, “Gold’s price rally, along with rate cuts and continued geopolitical turbulence, prompted Western ETF investors finally to pick up the baton.”

Driven by the surge in ETF holdings, total investment demand came in at 364 tons. That nearly doubled last year’s Q3 investment demand.

Through the third quarter, investment demand totaled 859 tons, solidly above the 10-year average of 774 tons.

While ETF holdings grew, bar and coin demand lagged due to a sharp drop in buying in China and Turkey, along with sluggish Eurozone demand. This was somewhat counterbalanced by a surge in Indian demand after the government cut taxes on gold and silver imports by more than half, lowering duties from 15 percent to 6 percent.

Total bar and coin demand came in at 269.4 tons. This was in line with the second quarter, but a 9 percent decline over Q3 2023.

The World Gold Council noted, “Western investors continued to show strong interest in gold, but this has been countered by heightened selling interest as the price reached record levels, resulting in far lower net levels of demand.”

Higher gold prices drug jewelry demand lower by 12 percent year-on-year in terms of volume. However, consumers spent more on gold jewelry due to those higher prices, with the value of demand rising 13 percent.

Even with high prices creating headwinds, gold jewelry demand was up 17 percent from a very weak second quarter.

Sales volumes were down in most markets, with the notable exception of India, where jewelry buying surged after the reduction in the import duty.

Jewelry demand in China was notably lower, dropping 36 percent below the 10-year average. It was the weakest quarter for jewelry sales in China since Q3 2010.

According to the World Gold Council, “Similar to last quarter, the weakness can be attributed to continued strength in the local gold price, low consumer confidence, and slower economic growth.”

Meanwhile, Indian gold jewelry sales rebounded, charting the best third quarter since 2015.

Central bank buying slowed modestly in the third quarter, coming in at 186 tons. This was below the 2023 record but in line with 2022 levels.

According to the World Gold Council, “There are now clearer indications that the sharp increase in the gold price since March has indeed inhibited some buying, as well as encouraging some selling among banks that manage their gold reserves tactically.”

The Bank of Poland was the biggest buyer in Q3, adding 42 tons of gold to its reserves.

Gold demand for industrial applications grew by 7 percent year-on-year, coming in at 83 tons. Demand in the electronics sector was up 9 percent.

According to the World Gold Council, “The third quarter is generally the strongest for electronics demand as many major electronics companies launch new products and devices onto the market.”

The World Gold Council projects demand will remain strong through the end of the year, even as gold prices continue to climb. Increasing media attention on gold’s stellar returns will likely broaden investor interest. Meanwhile, geopolitical uncertainty due to the continuing Middle East conflict and the U.S. presidential election will likely continue to drive safe-haven demand.

Also, “The shift that is underway in global interest rate policy should promote further interest in gold investment as the opportunity cost of owning gold drops.”

House COVID Committee Tells DOJ to Prosecute Andrew Cuomo

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic has sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department, recommending former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo be charged with making false statements to Congress.

“In an apparent effort to shield himself from accountability, evidence suggests Mr. Cuomo knowingly and willfully made false statements to the Select Subcommittee on numerous occasions about material aspects of New York’s COVID-19 nursing home disaster and the ensuing cover-up,” the Coronavirus Subcommittee said Tuesday in a press release.

According to the subcommittee, evidence shows that Cuomo reviewed, edited, and even drafted portions of a purportedly independent and peer-reviewed New York State Department of Health report, which was used to support his deadly pandemic-era nursing home policies.

However, Cuomo told the subcommittee in his June transcribed interview that he had nothing to do with that report. Cuomo’s lie is why the subcommittee now wants him criminally charged.

“Andrew Cuomo repeatedly lied to Congress, and he must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. Both witness testimony and new documents serve as evidence that the former Governor made false statements to the Select Subcommittee during our COVID-19 nursing home investigation,” subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup, R-Ohio, said in a press release.

“This deliberate and self-serving attempt to avoid accountability for the thousands of lives lost in New York nursing homes during the pandemic will not stand. If his prior criminal activity is any reflection, Andrew Cuomo is not a man of principle, and his willingness to lie to the Select Subcommittee is unfortunately a continuance of this behavior,” he added.

“Plain and simple, making false statements to Congress is a federal crime.”

The Cuomo administration came under significant scrutiny for a policy that at first required nursing homes to readmit recovering COVID-19 patients in an effort to avoid hospitals from becoming overwhelmed. That was on top of state fatality figures that significantly undercounted the deaths.

In June, an investigation into New York’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic found former Gov. Cuomo’s “top down” approach of dictating public health policy through his office—rather than coordinating with state and local agencies—sewed confusion during the crisis.

In the state’s nursing homes, where some 15,000 people died, the administration’s lack of communication with agencies and facilities resulted in wasted resources and mistrust — not to mention anxiety for residents’ loved ones, according to the independent probe commissioned by current Gov. Kathy Hochul in 2022.

Cuomo resigned from office in August 2021, amid sexual harassment allegations, which he denies. Hochul, a fellow Democrat who had been Cuomo’s lieutenant, inherited the job and was reelected the follow year.

U.S. Dollar Faces New Challenges Amid BRICS Push for De-dollarization

(Money Metals News Service)

In the latest Money Metals Midweek Memo podcast, host Mike Maharrey analyzed recent developments in global currency and trade dynamics, particularly as they relate to BRICS countries’ increasing moves toward de-dollarization.

From symbolic events to hard-hitting economic discussions, Maharrey covered the potential implications for the U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency and examined how central banks are preparing for these shifts.

Treasury Secretary Yellen’s Symbolic Moment

The podcast opened with a moment Maharrey found rich in symbolism: during a press briefing, the U.S. Treasury Department seal fell from the podium as Secretary Janet Yellen answered questions about the dollar’s future as the global reserve currency. This seemingly minor incident underscored the growing sentiment that the dollar’s stability may be increasingly precarious.

BRICS Expands: Dollarization and De-dollarization

Dollarization vs DeDollarization US versus BRICS Money Metals Exchange

The BRICS nations—Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa—recently held a summit in Kazan, Russia, where the conversation centered on potential alternatives to the dollar. The alliance expanded on January 1, 2024, to include Egypt, the UAE, Iran, and Ethiopia, with Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Malaysia also applying for membership.

Despite these expansions and talks of creating an independent payment system, Maharrey noted that true de-dollarization among BRICS remains challenging, with China, India, and others still deeply reliant on the global dollar system.

Russia’s Push for an Independent System

As one of the most vocal proponents of dollar alternatives, Russia has been advocating for a BRICS payment system that would circumvent the SWIFT network, which it was locked out of following the Ukraine invasion.

The summit discussions included “BRICS Clear,” an initiative for an independent cross-border settlement system, but Maharrey emphasized that creating such a system is far from straightforward.

The Dollar’s Declining Role in Global Reserves

Citing a South China Morning Post article, Maharrey explained that the U.S.’s weaponization of the dollar through sanctions has motivated many countries to explore alternatives. For example:

  • China’s Cross-Border Payment System (CIPS): Operating since 2015, CIPS is an alternative to SWIFT, used by 135 countries, primarily those in China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
  • Bilateral Agreements: Nations like China, Brazil, India, and the UAE are settling trade in their own currencies, avoiding the dollar entirely.

Central Banks’ Growing Gold Reserves

Global central banks are increasingly stocking gold to hedge against dollar volatility. As of mid-2024, central banks had added 483 tons of gold to their reserves, surpassing 2023’s record. This trend is fueled by concerns over dollar-based sanctions, inflation risks, and the need for a stable reserve that isn’t subject to foreign policy leverage.

Erosion of Dollar Dominance

USD vs BRICS Money Metals Exchange

According to the Atlantic Council, the dollar’s share of global reserves has declined from 72% in 2002 to approximately 58% today, a trend that highlights the gradual erosion of the dollar’s global dominance. Factors driving this shift include:

  1. Bilateral Trade Deals: China and Brazil announced a dollar-free trade deal in 2024, and India and the UAE settled an oil deal without the dollar.
  2. Central Banks Diversifying Reserves: With fewer dollars held in global reserves, countries are increasingly adding alternative assets like gold.

Implications for U.S. Consumers and Economy

The reduction in global dollar demand could significantly impact U.S. inflation, federal borrowing, and government spending. A decline in dollar demand would reduce demand for U.S. Treasury debt, leading to higher interest rates and increased federal interest payments. The U.S. fiscal year 2024 saw interest expenses surpass $1 trillion, outpacing defense and Medicare budgets.

Preparing for De-dollarization with Precious Metals

Maharrey urged listeners to consider gold and silver as hedges against a devaluing dollar. He emphasized that these precious metals serve as “real money” that holds intrinsic value regardless of the currency landscape.

To conclude, Maharrey reiterated the importance of sound money and staying informed on shifts in global financial systems, encouraging listeners to explore their options in precious metals through Money Metals Exchange.

Montel Williams Addresses Alleged Sex Tape Involving Himself and Kamala

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Montel Williams, a former TV host who once dated Kamala Harris, responded to social media allegations about a pornographic video involving him and the now-vice president.

In a post shared on X Wednesday, Williams unequivocally denied the existence of such a video, which was reportedly being shopped around to various media outlets.

Montel warned that “there is no tape,” shutting down the salacious claims against Harris, who is currently running for president.

“Wow, I hear a blogger I’ve never heard of got millions of views claiming someone is ‘shopping’ a sex tape of me that will ‘break the internet,’” Montel wrote. “Let’s ‘break the internet’ w/ truth – there is no tape.”

Montel’s response was prompted by an unsubstantiated post shared Monday by X user Matt Wallace, who boasts over 2.2 million followers.

Wallace claimed he was informed by a friend about the alleged tape but did not identify this friend, vaguely describing them as the “CEO of a large tech company.”

“This could break the internet and seriously damage the Harris campaign with just 8 days until the election,” he added. Wallace’s uncorroborated post garnered nearly 7 million views.

Wallace reshared Montel’s denial in a separate tweet, failing to clarify the origin of the allegations.

“Update: Montel Williams just posted saying that the allegations are false and that no sex tape of them exists,” Wallace wrote.

Harris and Williams dated briefly in the early 2000s and were photographed together at a fundraiser gala. Video of such gala remerged in 2019 when Harris unsuccessfully ran for the Democratic nomination against Joe Biden.

“Kamala Harris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single,” Williams wrote in 2019 in response to the gala video. “So what? I have great respect for Sen. Harris. I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate?”

Harris’s allies have long suggested that online scrutiny and questions about Harris’s dating life are part of a sexist campaign against her.

Throughout much of the Trump White House, several outlets repeated demonstrably false allegations that Trump was recorded in a “golden shower” video. The story’s origin can be traced back to the Clinton-funded Steele dossier.

Not a Joke: ABC Prematurely Declares Kamala Winner of 2024 Election

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) An ABC-affiliated network in Pennsylvania mistakenly aired a ticker showing Vice President Kamala Harris as the winner of Keystone State in the 2024 election, just days before the actual vote.

WNEP-TV, also known as ABC 16, displayed the reportedly incorrect election results during its broadcast of the Formula 1 Mexico Grand Prix on Sunday, according to the Daily Mail.

The ticker specifically showed Harris winning with 52 percent of the vote to Trump’s 47 percent, a tally of about 3.3 million votes to 3 million. The network even claimed bafflingly that 100 percent of precincts were reported.

A network spokesperson told the Mail that the ticker had appeared on screen in “error” as part of a test ahead of the Nov. 5 election.

“The numbers seen on the screen were randomly generated test results sent out to help news organizations make sure their equipment is working properly in advance of election night,” the spokesperson affirmed.

The premature display sparked mocking reactions on X, with some critics speculating that the error was indicative of potential voter fraud. Clipped videos of the broadcast quickly gathered millions of views.

In response, WNEP reassured viewers that the numbers were not “reflective” of actual vote counts.

“Pennsylvania law does not allow mail-in ballots to be taken out of their envelopes until 7:00 a.m. on Election Day, and no votes of any kind will be counted in Pennsylvania until after the polls close at 8:00 p.m.,” the spokesperson added.

WNPE said it regretted the error and apologized for the confusion, claiming, “We have taken steps to ensure that it does not happen again.”

The error comes as tensions rise in the Harris-Trump race, which is expected to be one of the closest and most contentious presidential contests in history.

Fake Republican Arnold Schwarzenegger Endorses Radical Socialist for President

(Maire Clayton, Headline USA) Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, the last Republican—possibly ever—to hold the state’s top office, once again turned his back on the party that elected him by endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election.

In a lengthy Wednesday X post, the Kindergarten Cop actor said he begrudgingly came to the decision to support the current vice president due to his incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Schwarzenegger, who succeeded Trump as host of ABC’s The Apprentice when the latter entered into the 2016 presidential race, insisted he had “plenty of disagreements” with the Harris–Walz ticket before zeroing in on former President Donald Trump.

He continued to push the leftist rhetoric of the events of Jan. 6, claiming the former president sent supporters “to storm the Capitol while he watche[d] with a Diet Coke.”

The Austria native even claimed Trump was “un-American” for questioning the validity of the 2020 election.

“Turn the page and put this junk behind us,” Schwarzenegger wrote.

If Trump were reelected, “It will just be four more years of bullsh*t with no results that makes us angrier and angrier, more divided, and more hateful,” he claimed.

Schwarzenegger said he did not support either party and “hate[d] politics more than ever,” blaming Republicans for increasing deficits and Democrats for enacting policies that increased crime.

“Washington does nothing,” he said, while ranting about border security, the rapidly increasing national debt and the current immigration system.

Just last year, Schwarzenegger blasted Democrats for ruining American cities.

“We want to f*** up every city in America,” Schwarzenegger said a Democrat would likely say if asked what it meant to be a member of the party.

Schwarzenegger also famously told Americans skeptical of the COVID vaccine and masks to “screw your freedom” at the height of the pandemic.

The actor’s ex-wife, Maria Shriver, who also happens to be a first cousin of Trump surrogate Robert F. Kennedy, recently found herself in the news, as well, due to an awkward interview she conducted with Harris, during which the vice president insisted that she did not partake in cannabis gummies.

‘When They Go Low…’: Trump Campaign Has Perfect Retort to Biden’s Trash Talk

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) The Trump campaign wasted no time on Wednesday responding to President Joe Biden’s literal trash talk against Republican voters by using it to highlight one of the many policy failures of the Biden–Harris administration.

Biden decided to “go low” when he called Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s supporters “garbage” on Tuesday during a Zoom call with Voto Latino, a major Latino voter outreach group in the U.S.

Rather than take the bait, however, Trump’s campaign opted to stick to the issues—an area where Democrats now find themselves at a distinct disadvantage due to Biden’s and Harris’s leadership (or lack thereof).

On Wednesday, the Trump campaign released a mid-day email blast titled “The Price of Garbage Is Up 18.5% Under Biden-Harris,” citing an article from conservative news site Breitbart.

“The prices Americans pay for garbage collection have jumped 18.5 percent since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris entered the White House, according to data from the U.S. Department of Labor,” the Trump campaign’s email blast recited in an excerpt from Breitbart.

“The consumer price index for water, sewage, and garbage collection was up 4.75 percent in September compared with one year earlier. Trash collection inflation peaked at a year-over-year rate of 5.8 percent in June of last year,” the excerpt continued.

Harris, meanwhile, refused to condemn Biden’s “garbage” comments Wednesday when asked on the tarmac if she sympathized with voters offended by the president’s insult.

She incongruently told reporters, “I am running for President of the United States. I will be traveling to three states today” in response to a direct question about Biden’s dirty rhetoric.

Biden is not the only Democrat who has crossed the lines of civility as the Harris campaign grows increasingly desperate and frantic to find an attack that sticks.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama first uttered her notorious “When they go low, we go high” catchphrase at the 2016 Democratic National Convention. However, it was a far cry from her escalatory rhetoric campaigning alongside Harris on Saturday at a rally in Michigan.

Obama urged Americans not to vote for Trump, later calling Harris’s Republican opponent a “slum lord,” a “predator” and a “convicted felon.”

Completely ignoring the mental faculties of Biden as the sitting president, the former first lady  also took aim Trump’s cognitive stamina.

“I hope that you’ll forgive me if I’m a little angry that we are indifferent to his erratic behavior, his obvious mental decline, his history as a convicted felon, a known slum lord, a predator found liable for sexual abuse, all of this while we pick apart Kamala’s answers from interviews that he doesn’t even have the courage to do, y’all,” Obama said.

Tucker Carlson Documentary Sparks Online Buzz over Trump ‘Coke’ Scandal

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump traded his staple Diet Coke for a regular Coca-Cola as he indifferently watched his newfound opponent, Kamala Harris, take the stage the night of the 2024 Democratic National Convention in August, video released Tuesday showed.

Trump, sitting at a dinner table among his closest allies, appeared to brush off “crazy” Harris as she awkwardly said “thank you” more than 30 times before delivering her speech on Aug. 22.

The footage, from Tucker Carlson’s new docuseries Art of the Surge, aired the fourth episode on X for the first time Tuesday night.

“Is she crazy?” Trump asked, gesturing to Harris on the screen as he held his red-label beverage.

“Wow, too many ‘thank yous.’ It must be 35,” he added as Harris repeatedly uttered her regards.

Social media reactions bubbled over in response to Trump’s change to the full-fat beverage.

“BREAKING: TRUMP HAS SWITCHED TO REGULAR COKE,” political activist Jack Posobiec wrote. “FULL ACTIVATION IS IMMINENT. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

“Trump is draining bottles of regular Coke, and you’re blackpilling!?” an X user remarked.

Another user noted, “Trump has activated FOUNDER MODE drinking regular Coke (not diet).”

Sitting beside Trump in the video was loyal campaign aide Natalie Harp, known for typing Trump’s thoughts in real time on his social media platform Truth Social.

The GOP nominee provided commentary as a fast-typing Harp blasted out his stream-of-conscious live-blog of Harris’s speech.

“Too many ‘Thank yous,’ too rapidly said, what’s going on with her?” one of Trump’s instantaneous posts said.

Other Trump allies in the room included Tulsi Gabbard, Matt Gaetz, Dan Scavino and Stephen Miller.

Trump decided to call Fox News after Harris’s DNC speech concluded for an immediate live reaction.

“I want to use a hard line,” Trump told his staff. “Hard line is so much better.”

Applause filled the room after the Republican candidate delivered pointed remarks against his Democrat opponent on the open border, devastated economy and her undemocratic ascension to the top of the ticket.

“I think I just nullified the whole fucking speech,” the former president said, eliciting laughter that filled the room.

Carlson’s Art of the Surge followed Trump on his political comeback from the moment a bullet struck his ear in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13 and forward.

The docuseries, first made available on the political commentator’s subscription-based Tucker Carlson Network, showed behind-the-scenes footage as the Trump campaign travels across the country to take back the White House.

Supreme Court Upholds Virginia’s Efforts to Clean Noncitizens from Voter Rolls

(Headline USA) The Supreme Court ruled on Wednesday in favor of Virginia after the Biden administration tried to stop the state from purging its voter rolls of noncitizens.

The emergency decision was 6-3 but remained unsigned. Democrat Justices Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan, and Ketanji Brown Jackson publicly dissented, indicating they would have sided against Virginia.

The Biden administration’s Justice Department sued Virginia after the state announced it would be removing 1,600 verifiable noncitizens from its voter rolls, arguing the state violated the federal National Voter Registration Act.

A district judge sided with the DOJ last week, claiming Virginia had not provided sufficient evidence that all of the removed voters “were, in fact, noncitizens.”

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Attorney General Jason Miyares argued the non-citizens Virginia intended to remove had indicated on other government forms that they were not citizens.

Moreover, the NVRA’s protections do not apply to non-citizens, Virginia officials said.

“States are free to systematically remove noncitizens, as well as minors and fictitious persons, at any time, including within 90 days of an election, without running afoul of the NVRA,” Miyares wrote.

After the Supreme Court sided with Virginia, Youngkin praised the court’s decision as a “victory for commonsense and election fairness.”

With the presidential election just days away, Virginians deserve to have confidence in the state’s election integrity, he added.

“Virginians also know that we have paper ballots, counting machines not connected to the internet, a strong chain of custody process, signature verification, monitored and secured drop boxes, and a ‘triple check’ vote counting process to tabulate results,” Youngkin said.

The governor went on to explain that eligible voters can always register on the same day that they vote if they believe they were wrongly removed from the state’s voter rolls.

“And so there is the ultimate, ultimate safeguard in Virginia, no one is being precluded from voting, and therefore, I encourage every single citizen go vote,” Youngkin said.
