Desperate Anti-Trump Impeachment Campaign Launches Within 24 Hours of Inauguration

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) With less than 24 hours as the 47th president, Donald Trump is already facing an impeachment threat from a leftist group seemingly desperate to get media attention. 

Free Speech for People, a leftist nonprofit, has launched a campaign urging Congress to “initiate an immediate impeachment investigation into Donald Trump.”  

This is the same group behind the 2017 “Impeach Trump Now” campaign, which urged Trump’s removal even before he was sworn in as the 45th president. 

The latest effort, dubbed “Impeach Trump Again,” mirrors its 2017 predecessor by citing no evidence of an impeachable offense. 

The leftist non-profit vaguely accused Trump of violating the Emoluments Clauses and engaging in unlawful campaign practices, alleging he used his presidential campaign for “personal profit.” 

“Trump’s return to the White House poses an unprecedented threat to our democracy,” John Bonifaz, Free Speech for People’s president, claimed in a press statement.

He added, “During his campaign and in the months before his inauguration, Donald Trump engaged in unlawful, unconstitutional conduct and threatened more.” 

The impeachment push appears to be yet another effort to undermine the will of the American voters, who overwhelmingly sent Trump back to the White House on Nov. 5. 

House Democrats repeatedly sought to impeach Trump during his first term, always basing their arguments on unsubstantiated claims.  

For instance, Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., called for Trump’s impeachment over the debunked Russia collusion hoax. 

“Get ready for impeachment,” Waters posted on X (then Twitter), after months of openly mulling Trump’s removal. 

Trump was impeached twice by the House of Representatives under the leadership of then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. 

The first, in 2019, centered on dubious accusations of abuse of power related to Ukrainian funding. The second came in 2021, following the Jan. 6 Capitol protests. 

Beyond impeachment, Democrats and anti-Trump figures have tried to imprison him, remove him from the 2024 ballot, destroy his private businesses and even assassinate him—not once, but twice.

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbie mustered the courage to admit that he supports President Donald Trump and the Make America Great Again movement only one day before his inauguration on Monday. 

“I have a confession to make: I did a bad thing,” he wrote ironically. “I voted Republican last November.”

Gebbie then stated that the current Democratic Party is not the same party people used to know, which was the reason why this time he decided to vote for Trump in the last election.

According to Gebbie, he believed the mass media propagandists when they were telling him and other Americans that “loving this country meant hating Trump” until he started doing his research and found out that not only is Trump not a horrible dictator but that he even likes many of his political positions, such as the implementation of the Department of Government Efficiency, making the borders of the United States secure and nominating Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the Secretary of the Health and Human Services.

“Make America Healthy Again. Make America Great Again. Make America America Again,” he wrote.

Gebbie pointed out that even his younger self, who used to be very politically left-leaning, “wouldn’t have liked living in the eggshell ages of these last few years.”

“A time of silence, shaming and fear, where calling a duck a duck meant you hated ducks. It was kind of like the Dark Ages, complete with its own plague, but with more modern forms of torture, like having to watch CNN for news,” he wrote.

Gebbie then stated that people should start speaking up and pushing back against the woke mob.

“Better late than never. It’ll unburden you, and you’ll no longer have to live a lie, pretending like the other party had a good plan in place,” he wrote. “Together, we can make this nation great again, from the Gulf of America in the South all the way to the great state of Greenland in the North.”

Even though many people, including Twitter owner Elon Musk, responded positively to his post in the comments section, some people pointed out that Gebbie “came out” of his conservative “closet” only one day before Trump’s inauguration, doubting the sincerity of his political beliefs.

“So funny watching all these tech a**holes suddenly realize they’re Republicans now that it’s the safest thing they could do. They were cowards before the election, and they’re cowards still. If Bernie wins in 2028, he’ll have a post that starts with ‘Comrades,'” @MrDavidAngelo wrote, referring to other billionaires bending the knee for Trump.

Airbnb previously interfered in the 2024 election by evicting pro-Trump ballot chasers from their rental home in Philadephia.

Dems Wage War Against DOGE, File Lawsuits, Spread Lies

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Within minutes of Donald Trump becoming the president of the United States on Monday, leftists filed a lawsuit against the Department of Government Efficiency, stating that there were violations of federal transparency rules.

The Washington Post obtained the 30-page complaint filed by the public interest law firm National Security Counselors. The firm claimed that the nongovernmental DOGE panel is breaking a 1972 law requiring the executive branch’s advisory committees to follow specific rules on disclosure, hiring, and other practices.

After winning the election, President Trump announced that billionaire Elon Musk and biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy would lead DOGE in slashing government regulations and spending programs.

Lisa Gilbert, co-president of Public Citizen, a public interest group, told the Post that the group also filed a lawsuit against the DOGE right after the inauguration over its “uncertain legal status.”

Conservatives on Twitter responded to the recent news, criticizing the leftists for going after the DOGE.

“What did I always tell you guys? I said these conflicts would end up getting Trump sued, investigated, or impeached. People should listen,” conservative journalist Laura Loomer wrote.

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey also opposed the attempts of “radical leftists” to dismantle [the] DOGE.”

“I will file briefs in court to defend President Trump’s constitutional authority to run the executive branch,” he wrote.

Others also asked Democrats, “What is it about cutting waste fraud and abuse in the government that they just can’t seem to stomach?”

In addition to the lawsuits, CBS News decided to lie about Ramaswamy leaving the DOGE, going as far as stating that “Vivek has worn out his welcome.”

(Headline USA) The veteran FBI agent tapped to serve as acting director following the departure of Christopher Wray and his deputy director, Paul Abbate, was the commanding officer responsible for the raid on Mar-a-Lago, according to deep-state whistleblower Kyle Seraphin.

 

Brian Driscoll was tapped to lead the FBI pending the Senate confirmation of Kash Patel, who is President Donald Trump’s pick for director.

Patel’s is expected to be one of the more contentious confirmations. He has repeatedly criticized FBI leadership and decision-making, and has alarmed Democrats with statements that suggest he would be willing to use the FBI to hold those accountable who waged political warfare on Trump and his supporters, often using the justice system to do so.

Meanwhile, the bureau’s personnel moves called to mind the previous efforts it took to sabotage Trump at the start of his first presidential term, suggesting it may once again attempt to ‘Trump-proof’ its more sensitive operations and undermine the Republican administration from the inside.

Obama operative Sally Yates, who had been part of the secretive White House meetings about weaponizing the FBI against the incoming administration, spent the first 10 days of Trump’s presidency in 2017 as the acting attorney general before she was fired for insubordination after refusing to enforce a travel ban on terrorist countries.

By then, the damage was already done. Under Yates’s watch, FBI agents were dispatched to set a perjury trap for National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, which ultimately led to an article by Washington Post columnist (and suspected CIA plant) David Ignatius, setting in motion the Russia-collusion hoax that plagued Trump for his first three years in office.

While Trump-appointed immigration attorney James McHenry is currently serving as the acting attorney general, pending the Senate confirmation of Pam Bondi, the FBI’s play to install a potential Trump adversary who had rummaged through First Lady Melania Trump’s underwear drawer presented major red flags.

Driscoll’s appointment came hours after Abbate, who served for the last four years as Wray’s deputy and had been in line to serve as acting director, told colleagues in an email that he was retiring.

“When the Director asked me to stay on past my mandatory date for a brief time, I did so to help ensure continuity and the best transition for the FBI,” Abbate wrote in the email, which was obtained by the Associated Press. “Now, with new leadership inbound, after nearly four years in the deputy role, I am departing the FBI today.”

Abbate’s email did not identify who might succeed him, but the White House included Driscoll on a list of officials being tapped to lead agencies on an acting basis. Driscoll was named by Wray last week as special agent in charge of the Newark field office and before that had served as commander of the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team, which reportedly conducted the Mar-a-Lago raid.

Wray’s final day was Sunday, making Abbate acting director, though he only stayed in the role for a day.

Abbate held a variety of leadership roles in his nearly three-decade career at the FBI, including head of the bureau’s Detroit and Washington field offices and executive assistant director for the criminal, cyber, response and services branch. He was named deputy director, the No. 2 position responsible for the FBI’s investigative activities, in 2021.

“As you move forward, continue to stay true to our core values, be there for our partners, and take care of those who serve alongside you. Thank you for your service,” Abbate wrote.

Wray was named by Trump during his first term and had been director for more than seven years. Wray announced his retirement last month, more than a week after Trump said he wanted Patel to be the director.

Trump Orders U.S. Flags to Full Staff for all Future Inaugurations

(Brett Rowland, The Center Square) President Donald Trump ordered U.S. flags across the country and at military bases and vessels throughout the world to the top of the pole for the rest of the day.

Some Republican governors had issued a similar order before the inauguration, but former President Joe Biden declined to have flags flown at full staff. Trump’s flag order wasn’t limited to his own inauguration.

“By the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and in honor of Inauguration Day and everything good and noble that it represents about our Nation, our people, and our form of Government, I hereby order that, on this and all future Inauguration Days, the flag of the United States shall be flown at full-staff,” he wrote in the order.

Trump’s flag order applies to the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government, in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions.

It also applies to embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations. The proclamation said the flags should remain that way for the remainder of this day.

At the end of Inauguration Day, Trump said U.S. flags should be returned to half-staff to continue the 30-day mourning period for former President Jimmy Carter, who died in December at age 100.

Even before Trump’s flag proclamation, some governors had already ordered flags to full-staff. Prominent Democrat, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, joined with the group of mostly Republican governors. In addition to governors, House Speaker Mike Johnson ordered that flags at the U.S. Capitol fly at full-staff for Trump’s inauguration.

Before he left office, Biden was asked if he would raise the flags for his rival’s inauguration, but his press secretary said last week that Biden had no plans to do so.

Trump previously criticized Biden’s flag decision and the Democrats who support it.

“The Democrats are all ‘giddy’ about our magnificent American Flag potentially being at ‘half mast’ during my Inauguration,” Trump wrote on Truth Social in a recent post. “They think it’s so great, and are so happy about it because, in actuality, they don’t love our Country, they only think about themselves.”

Trump’s flag proclamation was among the first six items posted on the official White House website and came ahead of offer first-day promises Trump made before taking office.

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) Within minutes of Donald Trump being sworn in as president Monday, a federal phone app used to facilitate illegal entry into the country was terminated.

“Effective January 20, 2025, the functionalities of CBP One™ that previously allowed undocumented aliens to submit advance information and schedule appointments at eight southwest border ports of entry is no longer available, and existing appointments have been cancelled,” U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced.

CBP first launched the app on Oct. 28, 2020, for commercial purposes to facilitate the efficient movement of commercial goods into the U.S.

Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas repurposed it in January 2023 and subsequently revised it in May and November 2023 to allow 1,000 daily appointments for foreign nationals to obtain entry into the U.S., the majority of whom would otherwise be denied entry under federal immigration law.

CBP claimed the phone app was “a key scheduling tool and part of DHS’s efforts to incentivize noncitizens to use lawful, safe, humane, and orderly pathways and processes.”

It also instructed “noncitizens located in Central or Northern Mexico who seek to travel to the United States” to use the app “to submit information in advance and schedule an appointment to present themselves at Southwest Border land ports of entry.”

The ports identified were Nogales, Arizona; Brownsville, Eagle Pass, Hidalgo, Laredo, and El Paso, Texas; and Calexico and San Ysidro, California.

After the app was launched, Texas sued, arguing, “The Biden Administration deliberately conceived of this phone app with the goal of illegally pre-approving more foreign aliens to enter the country and go where they please once they arrive.”

Under current law, foreign nationals are allowed to be “paroled” or released into the country on “a case-by-case and temporary basis, for significant public benefit or urgent humanitarian need.”

This wasn’t the case as millions were released en masse through the parole programs, resulting in multiple lawsuits by dozens of state attorneys general.

The app was another example of Mayorkas violating federal law, House Republicans who impeached him for creating it and other parole programs argued last year.

“Secretary Mayorkas has ignored a co-equal branch of government by unlawfully abusing the CBP One app to grant mass parole to hundreds of thousands of otherwise-inadmissible aliens at our Southwest border under the smokescreen of lawful entry – often with limited or no vetting,” U.S. Rep. Clay Higgins, R-LA, and former U.S. Rep. Dan Bishop, R-NC, said during a congressional hearing investigating the app. “We know the vast majority of the individuals who schedule an appointment with the app are released into the interior, showing this now-impeached DHS secretary has no intention of ending the historic crisis at our borders or the perverse incentives that helped create it.”

(Headline USA) The Department of Government Efficiency’s first order of business was itself: It’s now down to one leader.

Vivek Ramaswamy is no longer part of the commission that President Donald Trump championed, officials confirmed hours after the Republican took office Monday, and that leaves billionaire Elon Musk to run the cost-cutting operation alone.

Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur who sought the GOP nomination for president in 2024, has signaled plans to run for governor of Ohio next year.

A native of Cincinnati, Ramaswamy, 39, had shown interest in Vice President JD Vance’s recently vacated Senate seat before Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine chose Lt. Gov. Jon Husted as Vance’s successor.

“Vivek Ramaswamy played a critical role in helping us create DOGE,” Anna Kelly, a spokesperson for the commission, said in a statement. “He intends to run for elected office soon, which requires him to remain outside of DOGE, based on the structure that we announced today. We thank him immensely for his contributions over the last 2 months and expect him to play a vital role in making America great again.”

Trump picked Musk and Ramaswamy to lead DOGE, a nongovernmental task force that Trump has assigned to find ways to fire federal workers, cut programs and slash federal regulations—all part of what the new president calls his “Save America” agenda for his second term.

Ambitious efforts to reduce the size and scope of the federal government historically have run into resistance when the public is confronted with cuts to trusted programs that millions of Americans depend on for jobs, health care, military security and everyday needs.

One of the world’s wealthiest millennials, Ramaswamy made a fortune in biotech before turning his attention to politics.

He has positioned himself as a thought leader of Trump’s populist “Make America Great Again” movement. He endorsed Trump in the GOP primary after finishing fourth in Iowa’s leadoff caucuses.

(Headline USA) President Donald Trump on Monday vowed to rename North America’s tallest peak, Denali in Alaska, as Mount McKinley—reviving an idea he’d floated years ago that at that time saw strong pushback from state political leaders.

Trump, who took office for a second time Monday, said he planned to “restore the name of a great president, William McKinley, to Mount McKinley, where it should be and where it belongs. President McKinley made our country very rich through tariffs and through talent.”

Trump also announced plans to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

Messages left for Alaska’s three-member Republican congressional delegation and Republican Gov. Mike Dunleavy weren’t immediately returned.

Alaska’s U.S. senators in 2017 vehemently opposed a prior suggestion by Trump that the name Denali be changed back to Mount McKinley.

In 2015, then-President Barack Obama changed the name to Denali to reflect the traditions of Alaska Natives and acknowledge the preference of many Alaska residents.

The federal government in recent years has sought to change place names considered disrespectful to Native people.

Denali is an Athabascan word meaning “the high one” or “the great one.” The iconic 20,310-foot mountain, snow-capped and dotted with glaciers, is in Denali National Park and Preserve.

A prospector in 1896 dubbed the peak “Mount McKinley” after President William McKinley, who had never been to Alaska.

The name was formally recognized by the U.S. government until Obama changed it—in spite of opposition from lawmakers in McKinley’s home state of Ohio.

Trump raised the notion of a name change again during a rally late last year, following his election.

“McKinley was a very good, maybe a great president,” Trump said in December. “They took his name off Mount McKinley, right? That’s what they do to people.”

‘Star Wars’ Actor Mark Hamill Starts ‘Symbolic Protest’ as Trump Returns to Office

(Maire Clayton, Headline USA) Legendary Star Wars actor Mark Hamill took to social media Sunday to state he would be protesting President Donald Trump’s reentry into office.

“From midnight tonight until next Saturday morning, there’s no TV, no Internet, no Social Media, no nothing for me,” he posted to Bluesky, an alternative to X.

Alongside the message, Hamill posted a solid black photo and a hashtag that said “5 Day Blackout.”

“Symbolic protest is better than none at all,” he continued.

Social media users criticized his online comments. “The left is so ridiculous,” one user wrote. “Why are they like this?”

The actor has been an outspoken critic of Trump in the past.

He previously appeared unhinged in a December 2024 podcast called “Politickin.”

During the appearance, he stated his family previously told him to pull back with making political statements.

“My daughter would say, Daddy, you shouldn’t tweet politically so much because, you know, people get so angry,” he confessed at the time.

In addition, the once beloved actor stated he would not be watching the inauguration in a previous Bluesky post.

“Who else is really looking forward to not watching the Inauguration?” he wrote.

Hamill also compared Trump’s presidential win to that of Pearl Harbor, when he posted “A Day That Will Live In Infamy.”

The line was previously spoken by former President Franklin D. Roosevelt after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941.

Hamill was not the only individual who was upset about Trump’s inauguration.

CNN’s Van Jones expressed his unhappiness on Sunday while appearing on Newsnight.

“I’m miserable. I’m sad, I’m frustrated. I’m mad at everybody,” he said regarding the then upcoming event.

Trump was sworn in as the 47th president on Monday in Washington, D.C. and is the second president to serve nonconsecutive terms.

Report: Trump Revoking Security Clearances for the 51 Spies Who Lied about Hunter’s Laptop

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Fox News reported Sunday that President Donald Trump is planning to revoke the security clearances of the 51 U.S. intelligence officials who falsely deemed the Hunter Biden laptop as part of a Russian disinformation campaign before the 2020 election—resulting in that story being heavily censored by social media outlets.

“Trump, on his first day, will also suspend the security clearances for the 51 national security officials who ‘lied’ about Hunter BIden’s laptop ahead of the 2020 presidential election,” Fox reported, citing a senior administration official who is familiar with Trump’s impending executive actions.

The 51 officials who signed an open letter about Hunter’s laptop included former Obama-era CIA Director John Brennan, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, former CIA Director Leon Panetta, and former Deputy CIA Director Michael Morell.

Last year, it was revealed that some of the lying spies were on the CIA’s payroll at the time they signed it.

Documents shared to Congress by the CIA exposed that former CIA acting director Morell, the man behind the letter, was contracted with the spy agency when he led efforts to conceive the letter.

Former CIA inspector general David Buckley also received taxpayer dollars, according to an interim report from two House committees. Moreover, at least two other signees received CIA contracts when they signed the heavily partisan letter.

It remains unclear why the CIA allowed some of its contractors to play such a partisan role in leading a letter that sought to undermine the laptop’s exposé, which implicated Joe Biden in the business dealings of his embattled son, Hunter Biden.

The letter was used by Big Tech platforms to ban the New York Post’s first reporting of the laptop and any other individual who shared the report. Joe Biden would use the fake letter to defend himself from attacks.

“There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plant. Five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage. Nobody believes it except his good friend Rudy Giuliani,” Biden said in 2020.
