Venezuelan National Arrested for Manslaughter of 12-Year-Old, Killed Day Before Birthday

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A Venezuelan national faces manslaughter charges after colliding head-on with a vehicle, resulting in the tragic death of 12-year-old Travis Wolfe just one day before his birthday.

The incident occurred in Missouri on Dec. 20, 2023, when Endrina Bracho, a Venezuelan illegal alien, drove her vehicle without a license at a speed exceeding the limit.

According to Fox 2 St. Louis, Bracho collided with the vehicle of the Wolfe family. Bracho was allegedly driving in the wrong lane at the time.

The parents of the 12-year-old were transported to Mercy Hospital with broken wrists, ribs and sternum. Despite their injuries, they eventually recovered, but tragically, their son did not regain consciousness and passed away on March 6.

Bracho’s two children were in her car before the accident occurred. Hazelwood Police Sergeant Scott Schnurbusch acknowledged the difficulty in identifying the individuals in Brach’s car due to the absence of identification.

“It was just difficult identifying all parties involved because we didn’t have documentation or identifications in the vehicle to try to figure out who the two juveniles and the suspect were,” he said.

Police determined that Bracho had driven for at least 1,700 feet in the wrong direction without realizing it.

“1,700 feet is quite a big distance to travel at over 70 miles an hour on a 40-mile posted road. That’s a long way to travel in the wrong direction and not realize,” Schnurbusch said.

A friend of the grieving family has launched a GoFundMe page to raise funds for the medical expenses stemming from the car crash.

Bracho now faces charges of involuntary manslaughter in the first degree, two counts of assault in the second degree, two counts of endangering a child in the first degree and one count of operating a vehicle without a valid license.

This arrest comes amid growing criticism of the rising number of illegal border crossings involving individuals of Venezuelan origin. Several high-profile crime cases, including the arrest of 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra for the alleged brutal murder of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley, have drawn national attention.

In New York City, multiple Venezuelan nationals were indicted for brutally assaulting two NYPD officers. A separate incident involves a 15-year-old Venezuelan facing attempted murder charges for firing his gun at NYPD officers during a pursuit down a train escalator.

A Venezuelan gang member currently in New York custody disclosed to detectives that the violent gang he belongs to, Tren de Aragua, is larger than initially expected.

High School Backpedals after Telling Indiana Teen to Remove American Flag

(Matthew Doarnberger, Headline USA) An Indiana high school reversed its stunning demand that a student remove an American flag that it had previously tried to ban WCPO reported.

Cameron Blasek, a 17-year-old student at East Central High School in Dearborn County, was pulled aside by his counselor and vice principal last week and told to remove the flag attached to his pickup truck because it was a violation of school rules.

The reasoning of the school’s administration was that it could lead to other student’s flying flags “that are seen as offensive,” Blasek said.

“Honestly, I was shocked,” he said.

“I read through the … handbook, and the word ‘flag’ wasn’t even mentioned in the parking lot or driving section,” he added. “The only section it’s mentioned in is the flag-twirling section.”

Despite the call for him to remove the flag, Blasek refused to comply with the school’s demands. Upon learning of his situation, many other students showed up to the school with American flags on their vehicles the following day.

“There was a huge support group there that believed and stood for the same thing that I did,” Blasek said. “I was kind of shocked by that.”

A viral video posted over the weekend caught the attention of several conservative media influencers, including Libs of TikTok. The version posted by the site @EndWokeness had garnered more than 8.6 million views as of Monday evening.

As a result of the backlash and the attention that it received, the school’s administration has since reversed course.

“I am pleased to inform you that we are allowing the display of the U.S. flag by students in the parking lot,” Principal Tom Black wrote in a letter to parents. “No high school staff member or administrators stated or insinuated that the U.S. Flag was offensive, nor has there ever been a complaint received about the U.S. Flag.”

Black noted that the flag “is displayed in the front of our school and in every classroom,” any offense taken by the school toward that same flag on a vehicle would seem unusual.

Similar situations have arisen in the recent past involving overzealous administrators who seem unaware of the fact that student free-speech rights apply in many circumstances except for those narrowly considered to be disruptions to the learning environment.

In Colorado last August, 12-year-old student Jaiden Rodriguez was punished for refusing to remove a Gadsden flag patch from his bookbag until video of the meeting between his him and mother with school administrators went viral, turning Jaiden into an instant celebrity.

Javier Milei Informs Public of Labor Secretary’s Firing in Live Interview

(Matthew Doarnberger, Headline USA) Argentinian President Javier Milei recently fired Labor Secretary Omar Yasín and informed the public of his firing live on the air.

During an interview with the Argentina-based television station LN+, Milei stated that the secretary of labor had been fired.

The interviewer then asked the president when the firing had taken place.

“At this moment they’re notifying him,” was Milei’s response.

The reason for the firing stemmed from salary increases to government officials that Milei claimed were a mistake.

“This is an error that should not have been made, because moreover, this was cleared up in January,” he said. “The consensus of the ministers was that we have to manage with our salaries frozen.”

Recently, the new president—a fiscally conservative populist-libertarian folk hero and friend of U.S. Republican leader Donald Trump—rescinded a 48% pay raise for himself and his Cabinet.

Prior to that, Argentinian lawmakers had announced that they would present a bill to overturn increases of around 30% to their own salaries.

“I don’t agree with the salary raise,” the president said while speaking of the 30% lawmaker pay raise. “I understand that they might have needs, but 60% of Argentines are poor and 10% are destitute.”

Milei has previously called the nation’s congress a “rat’s nest” and accused politicians of being out of touch with the economic problems of the local population.

He has taken an aggressive approach to cutting spending since assuming office three months ago. As a result, Argentina achieved their first budget surplus in 12 years back in January.

He also fired 5,000 government employees soon after becoming president.

Yasín had been serving as Milei’s secretary of labor since the president first assumed office in December 2023.

Disgusting Ex-Clinton Strategist Called Out for Rape-Shaming Rep. Nancy Mace

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA)  Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., called out former Bill Clinton political strategist and ABC talking head George Stephanopoulos for attempting to shame her support of former President Donald Trump as a rape victim.

Stephanopoulos opened the Sunday interview with Mace on ABC’s This Week  by asking about her endorsement of Trump after a civil court found him liable for sexual assaulting New York socialite and serial rape-accuser E. Jean Carroll in an encounter some 30 years ago.

The case came after New York’s legislature specially changed the law to reopen the statute of limitations on such cases—a move some suspect was specially designed to target Trump.

Carroll, who frequently made light of rape in previous remarks, first made her accusation in a memoir during Trump’s presidency, and her testimony revealed several inconsistencies, as well as gaps in her memory.

The left-leaning Manhattan jury determined, nonetheless, that there was sufficient evidence in the civil trial to award Carroll a $5 million verdict for sexual assault.

After Trump continued to deny the charge, she sued for defamation and got a predetermined guilty verdict from Judge Lewis Kaplan, the former mentor of Carroll’s own lead attorney, who went on to award an $83 million settlement.

Despite the absurdities of the lawfare attack, Stephanopoulos—who once worked to help silence and blacklist Clinton’s more credible rape accusers—insisted that Mace justify her reasons for siding with the Republican presidential candidate over his unhinged accuser.

Mace fired back, responding firmly, clearly and calmly to let Stephanopoulos know he was out of line:

“I was raped at the age of 16,” she said.

“… I’ve lived for 30 years with an incredible amount of shame over being raped,” she continued. ” … It’s a shame that you will never feel, George, and I’m not going to sit here on your show and be asked a question meant to shame me about another potential rape victim.”

Stephanopoulos insisted that the question was not about shaming her, but about shaming Donald Trump instead.

He also insisted that the civil case made Trump liable for the alleged rape, neglecting to make the distinction between a criminal and a civil case and implying that Trump’s conviction carried the same evidentiary standard of “beyond a reasonable doubt” that applies to criminal cases.

He further failed, as many on the Left have, to make the important legal distinction between “rape” and “sexual assault.”

The jury’s verdict explicitly said that Carroll did not prove Trump raped her, although Kaplan refused to allow Trump’s defense to raise that point in his subsequent defamation trial.

The judge later found Trump liable for and unspecified, undefined form of “sexual abuse,” which may have been as little as an unwanted kiss on the cheek.

Throughout the course of the interview, Stephanopoulos said Trump was “found liable for rape,” 10 times.

“You’re asking me a question about my political choices, trying to shame me as a rape victim, and I find it disgusting,” Mace said.

Stephanopoulos struggled to regain his footing in the interview, obviously flustered by Mace’s response. The back-and-forth went on for several minutes.

After Mace explained why the question was offensive, Stephanopulos changed the subject to Jan. 6.

Mace responded to questions in a separate interview on Fox New’s The Faulkner Focus, according to The Hill.

“I wasn’t brought on to talk about my own rape. I didn’t agree to any of that,” she said.

“And he shares the speech I gave, impassioned speech five years ago about telling my story for the first time,” she added. “It’s very difficult for me to watch that speech. It’s painful.”

NYC Woman Loses Her Feet after Boyfriend Shoves Her onto Subway Tracks

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) On March 9, 2024, the NYPD arrested the man who was accused of shoving his girlfriend onto the tracks of a New York City subway, which resulted in the victim losing both of her feet.

Christian Valdez, the suspect, was taken into custody about 10 hours after the incident happened at the Fulton Street station, according to Breitbart.

He was accused of pushing his 29-year-old girlfriend onto the tracks as a train approached the platform after the couple argued.

“Medics rushed the woman to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition. MTA sources said the woman lost both of her feet as a result of the train strike,” the news source said.

Even though the suspect, a 35-year-old Brooklyn resident, fled the station, police later found and arrested him for attempted murder and felony assault.

“She may never be able to walk again and that’s what we’ve been saying. This is just one of many instances that we’ve been seeing this year alone,” Jack Nierenberg of the group Passenger’s United said, according to Pix 11 News.

The subway crimes have risen 13% in 2024 compared to the same time period last year, Breitbart reported.

One of the people who learned about the tragedy criticized the authorities for not protecting people from these kinds of situations.

“When’s it gonna stop? You know? It’s ridiculous. Where’s all these National Guard that they said they were gonna come? Where is the safety? Where is the protection? Where is the tax money going to?” he asked.

It wasn’t the only time when something like this happened in the city. Just last month, a 59-year-old New York City subway conductor was slashed in the neck at the Rockaway Avenue and Fulton Street station.

The victim, Alton Scott, was on the train that was pulling into the station. He was cut in the neck the moment he stuck his head out of the window.

“The victim was transported to a local hospital and listed in stable condition. He received 34 stitches and was eventually cleared to go home,” the outlet reported, also adding that no arrests had been made at the time but a man wearing a blue vest was seen running from the area.

Plane Full of Passengers Veers Off-Course as Both Pilots Fall Asleep

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) A Batik Air Indonesia flight went off-course as the pilot and copilot both napped while the plane was cruising, NBC reported.

The Indonesian flight took place on Jan. 25, carrying 153 passengers. It was to fly from Halu Oleo Airport in Kendari to Soekarno–Hatta International Airport in Jakarta according to an Indonesia’s National Transportation Safety Committee preliminary report.

The 32-year-old pilot reportedly requested to sleep while the 28-year-old copilot took control after takeoff.

While the pilot slept, the copilot changed the course of the plane to avoid bad weather before falling asleep himself.

Both pilots were asleep simultaneously for approximately 28 minutes.

The pilot upon waking saw “that the aircraft was not in the correct flight path.”

He immediately woke his colleague and corrected the course. Fortunately for the pilot and all on board, the plane had maintained its altitude, and had only slightly veered off course from its final destination.

None on board were hurt.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the copilot had gotten minimal sleep due to his 1-month-old twins that his wife recently gave birth to.

The night before the flight, the copilot had “attempted to sleep, however he had to wake up several times to help his wife take care of the babies,” the report noted. “The SIC [second in command] felt that his sleep quality had degraded by the several wakes up.

The report suggested that measures would be taken to avoid future situations of the sort, such as routine checks on the pilots by flight attendants, and additional steps to ensure that pilots have been getting “sufficient, adequate, and good quality rest.”

The investigation, however, will continue. The committee’s civil aviation director-general, Maria Kristi Endah Murni, noted that officials intended to take a closer look at the situation and think through ways to mitigate such events in the future.

“We will conduct an investigation and review of the night flight operation in Indonesia regarding the Fatigue Risk Management for Batik Air and other flight operators,” Murni said.

Pro-Hamas Rioters Shut Down Sunset Blvd., Force Stars to Walk to Oscars

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) As Hollywood celebrities gathered to celebrate themselves at Sunday evening’s Academy Awards ceremony, they were delayed by pro-Hamas rioters who had blocked Sunset Boulevard, the Daily Mail reported.

The ceremony was delayed five minutes after the actors and actresses had to get out of their cars and walk the final distance due to the road closure.

Protesters held up signs which contained messages such as “Hollywood’s Silence is Violence,” and “The Oscars: Sponsored by Baby Killers,” alluding to Israel’s response to Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist attack.

“We won’t accept the film industry’s silence,” one protester said.

“I’m here to protest because the Oscars are diverting attention away from Palestine, away from Rafah, away from Gaza,” said Alana Hadid, sister of celebrities Bella and Gigi Hadid. “And we need to keep our eyes on Gaza right now, 30,000 people have died.”

The mob also flew dozens of Palestinian flags while carrying images of the defaced American flag.

A group called Writers Against the War on Gaza LA, in conjunction with Film Workers for Palestine and other pro-Hamas groups organized the protest.

Leading up to the Oscars ceremony, Film Workers for Palestine released a joint statement with the Jewish Voice for Peace calling for people to meet outside the Cinerama Dome, the location of the Oscars, to protest.

“We will not be distracted by the entertainment industry,” they wrote, noting that a ceasefire was imperative.

“We WILL continue to call for a permanent ceasefire and Palestinian liberation,” they added. “Let’s mobilize and take the streets to show that we refuse to look away from this ongoing genocide! Ceasefire NOW!”

As left-wing activists continued to protest across America, President Joe Biden, who must cater to both factions within his party leading up to the 2024 election, has had a difficult time navigating the conflict.

On Saturday he appeared on MSNBC to condemn Israel’s planned attack on Rafah, the last place the citizens of Gaza have as a shelter. Later on, however, Biden backtracked his statement and committed himself to backing Israel.

‘Star Witness’ Lies, Destroyed Evidence and Collusion Highlighted in New House GOP Jan. 6 Report

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight released on Monday the initial findings of its investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Hill uprising—a report that will serve as the GOP rebuttal to the Democratic January 6th Commission.

The subcommittee released the report late Monday afternoon, and Headline USA has not yet read it in full. This publication will report on the entire contents, but below is a summary.

The main findings from the report focus on the Jan. 6 Commission destroying evidence, “star witness” Cassidy Hutchinson contradicting herself on numerous occasions and the committee colluding with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Much of the findings have already been reported by this outlet and others.

According to the report’s summary, Jan. 6 Commission officials Reps. Bennie Thompson and Liz Cheney failed to turn over video recordings of witness interviews and depositions despite using these recordings in their high-profile, primetime hearings.

“The Subcommittee recovered over one hundred deleted or password-protected files, including some files that were deleted days before Republicans took the majority,” the report’s summary said. “They also hid multiple transcribed interviews of witnesses who had firsthand knowledge of Trump‘s actions on January.”

The report’s summary also said Hutchinson conducted three transcribed interviews with the Select Committee before substantially revising her story in her fourth transcribed interview. “Despite knowing how significantly her testimony changed, the Select Committee promoted it as fact,” the report said.

Perhaps the most glaring contradiction exposed in the report is Hutchinson’s false statement about President Donald Trump trying to grab the steering wheel of his presidential vehicle and lunging toward his security detail when he was informed that he would not be taken to the Capitol following his Jan. 6 rally.

“Reps. Thompson and Cheney were aware that the Secret Service agent driving the SUV on January 6 directly refuted Hutchinson‘s testimony. Despite this, they still included her testimony in the Final Report and insisted it was credible,” the report’s summary said.

The subcommittee released its report the day before an explosive hearing is set to take place on the FBI’s Jan. 5/6 pipe bombs investigation.

IG: FBI Boss Abused Power to Put Spouse on Committee and Receive Cash Award

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) A now-retired FBI special agent in charge, or SAC, arranged to have his or her spouse sit on a committee and receive a cash award as a result, according to a report last week from the Justice Department’s Inspector General.

The DOJ Inspector General said it received information from the FBI’s Inspection Division, alleging that the unnamed SAC had assigned the spouse, who worked within the SAC’s chain of command, to serve on a committee and then arranged for the committee members, including the spouse, to receive cash awards in recognition of such service.

The DOJ-IG’s investigation found that the SAC indeed violated federal ethics regulations and related FBI policies by directing a subordinate to complete the paperwork necessary for the spouse to receive the award.

The SAC retired before the DOJ-IG could compel the official to be interviewed. The report doesn’t state whether the DOJ-IG compelled the spouse to be interviewed.

“Criminal prosecution of the SAC was declined,” the report concluded. “The OIG has completed its investigation and provided a report to the FBI for its information.”

Despite finding numerous instances of illegal activity in the FBI, the DOJ-IG’s investigations have often not led to prosecutions.

For instance, declined to prosecute a retired senior FBI official who solicited prostitutes from a foreign national’s massage parlor while he was still working for the bureau, according to a report released last October.

That OIG report came nearly two years after the OIG released a related report, which found that four FBI officials had sex with prostitutes while posted overseas, while a fifth also tried to—and all but one “lacked candor” about it during interviews and lie-detector test.

It was also alleged that one of the FBI officials provided another of the officials a package containing approximately 100 white pills to deliver to a foreign law enforcement officer.

According to that December 2021 report, two FBI officials resigned, two retired, and one was removed—all while the OIG’s investigation was ongoing.

The OIG’s December 2021 report said it referred the findings to the FBI for “appropriate action,” but nothing public has been revealed about the matter since then.

Meanwhile, the DOJ continues to prosecute the leading Republican presidential candidate, journalists, peaceful protestors and other non-violent dissidents—underscoring the widespread complaints about the U.S. having a two-tiered justice system.

Silver Poised to Play Catch Up to Gold

(Clint Siegner, Money Metals News Service) Gold’s breakout to new all-time nominal highs is making headlines. On Friday, the price settled at just under $2,200/oz, after gaining almost $100/oz for the week.

Silver actually outperformed gold on a percentage basis. The white metal gained $1.17/oz, or 5%, as compared to gold’s 4.5% gain.

The difference is that silver is stuck in the middle of the range where it has traded for the past four years. It is roughly $5/oz below its 2020 high and $25 below its all-time high.

Silver is historically cheap versus gold.

Historically, the two metals have been tightly correlated.

The difference, in recent years, is that silver has generally underperformed gold and has fallen behind in the current bull market.

Will the lag in silver persist?

Does the price action say something about real-world supply and demand?

Not really. Silver and gold prices are set in the futures market. The hedge fund managers, bullion bankers, and other big players in the silver futures market generally aren’t trading silver with the intent to take physical possession and most of the decisions they make are short-term.

Traders don’t seem to care much about how little actual silver is backing all of the paper they trade.

This crowd doesn’t decide to buy and hold based on concerns about perpetual trillion-dollar deficits, the rising prospects of war, the surging cost of silver production, or any of the myriad other sound reasons to buy silver.

In fact, many would rather sell a silver contract to someone who does care about those things, and then punish them for it by driving the price down. For the “powers that be” in the futures market, silver is just another trading vehicle.

Long-term bullion investors, on the other hand, view silver like they always have. They buy physical silver as an inflation hedge and as a store of value – just like gold.

Silver inventories have been falling as demand has outstripped production for the past three years.

The silver price may be lagging behind the gold price in the futures market, but it would be foolish to assume that implies some sort of permanent divergence between the two metals. Most of the firms trading futures don’t care about gold supply and demand either.

The electronic markets appear increasingly unhinged from reality.

For long-term holders of gold and silver, nothing has changed. Both metals make sense to own given the times we are living in.

Silver looks cheap relative to gold, and retail silver premiums have come way down. Now is not the time to get frustrated with or fooled by silver’s lagging price. Odds are, the “poor man’s gold” will catch up over time.
