NYTimes Admits Hunter Biden Asked Obama Admin for Help Landing Burisma Deal

(Headline USA) More than four years after Hunter Biden’s shady foreign business dealings were first exposed, the leftist New York Times acknowledged this week that the president’s son attempted to enlist the help of the Obama administration to secure a lucrative deal for Ukrainian energy company Burisma.

Records that were conveniently released to the Times after President Joe Biden ended his bid for reelection, revealed that Hunter contacted multiple officials within the State Department in an effort to establish a deal between Burisma and Enrico Rossi, president of Italy’s Tuscany region, while Hunter’s father was vice president.

At the time, Burisma was working to gain regulatory approval from Itayl for a geothermal energy project.

The content of Hunter’s pitch to State Department officials was not released, but the State Department’s response back to him was.

“I want to be careful about promising too much,” a Commerce Department official at the U.S. Embassy in Italy wrote in response to Hunter’s letter.

The official also warned Hunter that he could be violating U.S. law by trying to involve the State Department.

“This is a Ukrainian company and, purely to protect ourselves, [the US government] should not be actively advocating with the government of Italy without the company going through the [Department of Commerce] Advocacy Center,” the official noted.

In a separate email to other U.S. officials, the same Commerce Department official suggested Hunter reached out to multiple Obama administration officials in his quest for assistance.

“The Ambassador already replied to one letter from Mr. Biden,” the Commerce Department official wrote. “He may be shopping for more support than he got here.”

The report comes just days after special counsel David Weiss introduced evidence of alleged Foreign Agents Registration Act violations against Hunter in the first son’s felony tax fraud case.

In the filing, Weiss accused Hunter of attempting “to influence U.S. government agencies” to help himself and his business associates, including Romanian businessman Gabriel Popuviciu, who was convicted in Romania of bribery in 2016.

Hunter was already convicted in Delaware of felonies stemming from his violation of federal gun laws.

Joe Biden previously indicated that he would not issue any pardons on his son’s behalf. However, if Biden were to resign the presidency early to make room for newly annointed presidential candidate Kamala Harris, a blanket presidential pardon for Hunter’s crimes undoubtedly would be part of the negotiation.

Kamala’s Campaign Editing Headlines in Google Ads to Make Them More Favorable

(Headline USA) Vice President Kamala Harris has been rewriting headlines in Google search ads to make them appear even more favorable to her campaign.

The altered headlines appear as suggested advertisements near the top of Google’s search results about the 2024 election and include a “Paid for by Harris for President” disclaimer. They link back to legitimate articles published by various outlets, but the headlines and descriptions have been deliberately changed to portray Harris in a positive light.

The outlets whose headlines have been altered—including the Guardian, Reuters, CBS News, the Associated Press and PBS—said Harris’s campaign did not request permission to use or revise their content, according to Axios.

“While we understand why an organization might wish to align itself with the Guardian’s trusted brand, we need to ensure it is being used appropriately and with our permission,” a Guardian spokesperson said in a statement. “We’ll be reaching out to Google for more information about this practice.”

In one paid ad, the Harris campaign took an article from the Guardian and changed its headline to read, “VP Harris Fights Abortion Bans – Harris Defends Repro Freedom,” along with a description underneath that read, “VP Harris is a champion for reproductive freedom and will stop Trump’s abortion bans.”

An article from NPR had its headline changed to “Harris Will Lower Health Costs,” along with the description reading, “Kamala Harris will lower the cost of high-quality affordable health care.”

One from Reuters was altered to read “Inflation is Down,” with the description, “Under the Biden-Harris administration, ‘The U.S. is winning the inflation fight.’”

In an initial statement, Google said the Harris ads don’t violate the company’s policies since they are prominently labeled as “sponsored” and are therefore “easily distinguishable from search results.”

A Google spokesperson added that it’s “fairly common for advertisers to link out to or cite external websites, including news sites, in their ads.”

However, Google walked that back on Wednesday, telling Fox News that a “glitch” in its system allowed Harris to distort the headlines.

Pelosi Issues Death Threats against Republicans, Despite Condemning Political Violence

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D–Calif., exposed herself as an unhinged far-left ideologue once again when it was revealed that she previously told Republican leaders that Democrats are “out to get you, you’re dead,” and likened Donald Trump to a fascist, just weeks after he was shot in the ear by a wannabe assassin.

The Washington Post reported that Pelosi angrily pounded the table in an interview with reporters while “dispensing wisdom that sounds like a mix of a crime boss and local party activist.”

The news source added that Pelosi is focused “squarely on defeating Trump, whom she called ‘unpatriotic’ and whom she compared to fascist regimes for his attempts to destroy faith in independent media.”

“Nothing that I do has anything to do with him except his downfall,” she said.

During the interview, she also said that she refuses to be friends with Republicans who like Trump. When freshmen Republicans asked her to attend invitations focused on their shared Italian heritage, she declined.

“I do not like you. I’m out to get you, I’m out to get you,” she responded.

Right after the assassination attempt happened, Pelosi pretended to empathize with Trump and cited an attack on her husband as a parallel to the shooting of Trump, even though it was a homeless far-left illegal alien with a hammer who attacked Pelosi’s husband, not an American wannabe assassin and Trump hater with a rifle.

“As of whose family has been the victim of political violence, I know firsthand that political violence of any kind has no place in our society. I thank G-d that former President Trump is safe. As we learn more details about this horrifying incident, let us pray that all those in attendance at the former President’s rally today are unharmed,” she said.

The recent violent comments by Pelosi are not surprising to an average conservative in this country since the entire establishment has been pushing the same kind of rhetoric for many years, including that Trump supporters are responsible for the attack on Pelosi’s husband.

Aside from Pelosi calling Republicans “enemies of the state,” other Democrats also adopted the violent and anti-Trump rhetoric.

Elderly British Man Jailed in U.K. for Blasphemy against Allah

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) In the midst of a working-class revolt in the United Kingdom over concerns about mass immigration and violent crime linked to the country’s Muslim transplants, a British citizen was arrested and jailed for blaspheming against Allah, Your Local Guardian reported.

David Spring, of Longfellow Road in Sutton, was among a group of citizens confronted by British police on July 31 after they gathered to protest the housing of violent immigrants at hotels on the public dime.

The unrest began after 17-year-old Axel Rudakubana, the son of Rwandan immigrants, allegedly stabbed three young girls during a Taylor Swift-themed dance recital in Southport, a coastal city north of Liverpool.

Spring, 61, was arrested the following week, on Aug. 6, and pleaded guilty of violent disorder. He was sentenced to 18 months in jail.

Police body-cam footage played in court showed Spring shouting angrily at police, yelling “who the f*** is Allah” and telling police “you’re not English anymore.”

According to Prosecutor Alexander Agbamu, Spring took part in a riot organized and enacted by “members of the far-right” who had been deluded by alleged misinformation regarding immigration and crime.

His decision to attend the protest, Agbamu argued, culminated in Spring’s shouting of “false information relating to the religion and immigration status of the perpetrator of the Southall murders.”

In a statement, Spring lamented his fate, noting that “I didn’t go up to London to riot. I went to complain about people put up in hotels.”

The arrest and imprisonment of Spring is only the latest instance of England’s police state cracking down on the citizens as its leftist Labour Party government continues to side largely with the immigrants.

Officials have threatened draconian consequences over what radical leftist Prime Minister Keir Starmer has labeled “far-right” protests.

Earlier this month, for instance, police showed up at a man’s home and arrested him “on suspicion of improper use of the electronic communications network,” and for allegedly writing “comments that are offensive, obscene.”

In another incident, a 55-year-old Chester woman was arrested for posting inaccurate information about the Southport murders, according to The Independent.

The woman allegedly spread an “incorrect” name for the suspect and a false story about his background.

“It’s a stark reminder of the dangers of posting information on social media platforms without checking the accuracy,” said chief superintendent Alison Ross. “It also acts as a warning that we are all accountable for our actions, whether that be online or in person.”

Ex-DOJ Attorney Warns that Trump Jailtime Is Imminent in Merchan’s Lawfare Case

Editor’s Note: This article has been updated to include comments from Judge Juan Merchan’s daughter, Loren Merchan, which Headline USA obtained after reaching out on Wednesday evening.

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A high-profile former federal prosecutor has issued a warning about the imminent incarceration of President Donald Trump in the Manhattan case led by Soros-linked Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and presided over by Democrat Judge Juan Merchan.

Andrew McCarthy, a former assistant U.S. attorney at the U.S. Southern District of New York, wrote in a Fox News column that Trump could be jailed on Sept. 18, despite the mounting legal issues complicating the Manhattan case.

Among these issues is the Supreme Court’s ruling that Trump cannot be prosecuted for acts made while in office and that these acts cannot be used as evidence in criminal proceedings.

Despite these factors, Merchan “has signaled that, come hell or high water, he intends to sentence Trump on Sept. 18,” McCarthy wrote in the Wednesday column. “If you’re keeping score, that would be two days after early voting in the 2024 election begins in Pennsylvania.”

McCarthy’s warning comes after Merchan denied Trump’s recusal motion regarding the financial ties between the judge’s daughter, Loren Merchan, and Vice President Kamala Harris. Loren heads consulting firm Authentic Campaigns, which received over $7 million in services from Harris’s failed 2020 campaign, according to Federal Election Commission filings reviewed by Headline USA.

Merchan could not have cared any less about concerns for an apparent conflict of interest. “On Tuesday, Merchan denied the recusal motion. He had signaled his intention to do so in a letter to the parties last week,” McCarthy added.

He also noted that Merchan hinted he would dismiss the immunity claims by Aug. 16, the expected date of the decision, as he ordered the parties to prepare for the sentencing on Sept. 18.

“He instructed the lawyers to submit promptly any arguments they intend to make on that subject,” McCarthy added. “If we may read the tea leaves, Merchan has already decided that he will deny Trump’s immunity motion. There is, moreover, a high likelihood that he will impose a prison sentence against Trump right after that.”

McCarthy predicted that Merchan would dismiss the immunity defense by countering that Trump was not charged on the premise of presidential acts and that he would have been convicted anyway had Bragg not introduced evidence arguably covered by immunity.

McCarthy cautioned, “Such a ruling might be wrong, especially on the latter point (at trial, prosecutors described some of the testimony from Trump staffers as ‘devastating’); but Merchan made so many outrageous rulings in the case that it would be foolish to expect him to change course now.”

Concluding, the former prosecutor stated, “Prepare for Merchan to deny Trump’s immunity claim … and strap in for sentencing on Sept. 18.”

McCarthy is a lawyer, author, Fox News contributor and senior fellow at the National Review. He served in the Southern District of New York from 1993 to 1996 and again from 1999 to 2003.

When reached for comment on Wednesday evening, Loren declined to address McCarthy’s op-ed. Instead, she directed Headline USA to an X post by Authentic Campaigns founder Mike Nellis.

Nellis’s post was a response to an investigation by the House Judiciary Committee and dismissed the concerns as “absurd and completely false.”

He added, “However, this has not stopped MAGA world conspiracy theorists from harassing our employees and sending death threats to some of our families.”

Leftist Media Ignore Kamala Harris’s Record While Quibbling Over Her Apostrophe

Editor’s note: As part of our ongoing effort to highlight leftist media bias and frivolity, we are providing the unedited version of the following AP story. Not all the views expressed—including those related to style and grammar—reflect the positions of Headline USA.

(Associated Press) Whatever possessed Vice President Kamala Harris to pick Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate, it probably wasn’t a desire to inflame arguments about apostrophes. But it doesn’t take much to get grammar nerds fired up.

“The lower the stakes, the bigger the fight,” said Ron Woloshun, a creative director and digital marketer in California who jumped into the fray on social media less than an hour after Harris selected Walz last week to offer his take on possessive proper nouns.

The Associated Press Stylebook says “use only an apostrophe” for singular proper names ending in S: Dickens’ novels, Hercules’ labors, Jesus’ life. But not everyone agrees.

Debate about possessive proper names ending in S started soon after President Joe Biden cleared the way for Harris to run last month. Is it Harris’ or Harris’s? But the selection of Walz with his sounds-like-an-s surname really ramped it up, said Benjamin Dreyer, the retired copy chief at Random House and author of “Dreyer’s English: An Utterly Correct Guide to Clarity and Style”.

Dreyer was inundated with questions within minutes of the announcement, which came while he was at the dentist.

“I was like, ‘All right, everybody just has to chill. I’ll be home in a little while and I can get to my desk,’” he said.

While there is widespread agreement that Walz’s is correct, confusion persists about Harris’ vs. Harris’s. Dreyer’s verdict? Add the ’s.

“To set the ’s is just simpler, and then you can take your valuable brain cells and apply them to more important things,” he said.

Woloshun chimed in with a similar opinion on the social platform X, where apostrophes are being thrown around like hand grenades. “The rule is simple: If you say the S, spell the S,” he argued.

That puts them on the same side as The New York Times, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal — and at odds with AP.

While AP style has evolved on many fronts over the years, there are no immediate plans to change the guidance on possessives, said Amanda Barrett, AP’s vice president for news standards and inclusion.

“This is a longstanding policy for the AP. It has served us well, and we’ve not seen any real need to change,” she said. “We do know that the conversation is out there and people make different choices when it comes to grammar, and that’s all fine. Everyone makes a choice that works best for them.”

Timothy Pulju, a senior lecturer in linguistics at Dartmouth College, said that until the 17th or 18th century, the possessive of proper names ending in S — such as Jesus or Moses — often was simply the name itself with no apostrophe or additional S. Eventually, the apostrophe was added (Jesus’ or Moses’) to denote possession, though the pronunciation remained the same.

“That became kind of the standard that I was taught and adhere to, even though in retrospect, I don’t think it’s a great standard,” he said.

That’s because linguists view writing as a representation of speech, and speech has changed since then. Pulju said he expects the ’s form to become dominant eventually. But for now, he — along with the Merriam-Webster dictionary — says either way is acceptable.

“As long as people are communicating successfully, we say language is doing what it’s supposed to be doing,” he said. “If you can read it whichever way it’s written, then it seems like it’s working for people. They’re not getting confused about whose running mate Tim Walz is.”

If she wins in November, Harris would become the fourth U.S. president with a last name ending in S and the first since Rutherford B. Hayes, who was elected in 1876 — 130 years before the founding of Twitter — and was spared the social media frenzy over apostrophes. Harris is the first nominee with such a tricky last name since 1988, when Democrat Michael Dukakis lost to George H.W. Bush.

Dukakis, now 90, said in a phone interview Monday that he doesn’t recall any similar discussion when he was the nominee. But he agrees with the AP.

“It sounds to me like it would be s, apostrophe, and that’s it,” he said.

The Harris campaign, meanwhile, has yet to take a clear position. A press release issued Monday by her New Hampshire team touted “Harris’s positive vision,” a day after her national press office wrote about “Harris’ seventh trip to Nevada.”

Delta DEI Chief Cancels Non-Inclusive ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’

(Molly Bruns, Headline USA) Kyra Lynn Johnson, Delta Air Lines’s chief officer for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Social Impact, announced that the company was abandoning its use of the phrase “ladies and gentlemen” in gate announcements, according to Fox News Digital.

Johnson first pitched the gate announcement change during a February 2021 panel with other DEI insiders about gender inclusivity.

“So we’re beginning to take a hard look at things like our gatehouse announcements—you know, we welcome ‘ladies and gentlemen’—and we’ve asked ourselves, ‘Is that as gender inclusive as we want to be?’” Johnson said during the panel.

“You know, we’re looking at some legacy language that exists in some of our employee manuals and getting to the root of the way some things are described and saying, ‘Does that actually send a message of inclusivity?’” she added.

Delta started encouraging their employees to avoid language that “suggest[ed] a gender binary” in a 2020 inclusive language guide.

“Delta encourages our people to use language that is inclusive of everyone as our global customer base includes a broad range of diversity in cultural backgrounds, identity and experiences,” a spokesperson said.

The company also stressed the importance of being “antiracist,” encouraging employees to read Ibram X. Kendi’s infamous How to be an Antiracist. It even began altering hiring practices to track DEI metrics and reevaluating how it spent “PAC dollars” by only contributing to political groups that support “justice” and “equity.”

Both terms have been appropriated by woke leftists to euphemistically denote forms of reverse racism in many contexts.

Johnson freely admitted that she made the changes despite complaints from many of the employees.

“Perhaps the greatest challenge had been normalizing those conversations,” she said.

“So, notice I said the company has set an expectation that those conversations are to be normalized … That doesn’t mean everyone feels that way,” she continued. “It doesn’t mean that everyone’s comfortable having those conversations.”

Lufthansa also retired “ladies and gentlemen,” replacing the phrase with more woke-friendly alternatives.

Texas Dems Flocking to Endorse Cruz Due to Opponent’s Stance on Crime, Immigration

() Three and a half years into an unprecedented border crisis impacting Texans in border communities and the state’s largest cities, high-profile Democrats are, for the first time, openly endorsing Sen. Ted Cruz.

Cruz, a Houston Republican, is running for reelection for his third term. He’s being challenged by U.S. Rep. Colin Allred, a Dallas Democrat, who is trailing in the polls, although the race remains too close for comfort.

While Cruz has been characterized by those on the Left as polarizing or extremist, those on the Right argue he’s a conservative stalwart championing their causes: pro-life, supporting traditional marriage, women’s rights, the Second Amendment and school choice, among other issues. Differing on these views doesn’t matter. Texas Democrats supporting Cruz argue that border security and combating crime are their top concerns.

Under the Biden–Harris administration, the greatest number of illegal border crossers have entered the U.S., with the bulk illegally entering in Texas, and increasing number of violent crimes being committed against Americans, the Center Square has reported.

Texans who have traditionally been Democrats or apolitical say they aren’t anymore after their loved one or friend was killed by an illegal foreign national solely in the country because of Biden–Harris policies or by a violent repeat offender released into their community by who they describe as activist Democratic judges.

Kim Ogg, the Democrat district attorney in Harris County, has repeatedly stood up to a progressive Democratic-controlled Harris County judge and commissioner’s court after they attempted to defund law enforcement, prompting the state to get involved.

As crime and public corruption reportedly increased under the former Democratic mayor and current Harris County judge, Ogg began working with Houston’s new mayor, John Whitmire, and the Republican attorney general’s office to combat both.

Crime is a top concern among voters in largely Democratic-controlled cities and small border communities in Texas.

While Allred and some Democratic politicians appear to have distanced themselves from Biden–Harris border policies, more Democrats are switching to vote Republican, running for office as Republicans, or endorsing a Republican, the Center Square reported.

This week at a law enforcement rally in Houston, Ogg made history by endorsing Cruz.

“We are seeing a problem at our border,” she said.

“My constituents hate crime and expect the government to keep them safe from criminals,” she added. “They deserve protection, but our country’s laws and policies don’t always work to that end.”

Ogg also highlighted the recent rape and murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray to make her point.

“No case has spotlighted our crime problem and shaken our city more poignantly,” she said.

The suspects—two Venezuelan illegals—had previously been “captured crossing the border illegally but were released from federal custody,” Ogg said.

Instead of being deported, they were released by the Biden-Harris administration through a parole program wearing ankle monitors, the Center Square reported.

“Had Senator Cruz’s Justice for Jocelyn Act been the law today, Jocelyn would be alive,” noted Ogg, who penned an op-ed with Cruz in support of a bill he filed to honor Nungaray.

Republicans had risen to the occasion in their efforts to secure the open border, even as Biden and border czar Kamala Harris had ignored the problem—or, worse yet, facilitated it.

Cruz “has taken action at a time when Americans want solutions, not excuses, about why Democrats and Republicans won’t work together,” Ogg said.

“I appreciate the Senator for reaching out to me, the top law enforcement official in Harris County and Democratic office holder, to work together to protect our nation’s children from predators who shouldn’t be roaming our streets,” she added. “Crime is bigger than partisanship.”

Another first for Cruz is a “Democrats for Cruz” coalition that includes lifelong Democratic border sheriffs and judges, law enforcement union leaders, teachers, farmers and parents. Many lifelong Democrats in the coalition say they will be voting Republican for the first time this November.

Endorsements for Cruz have come in from law enforcement associations in the Democratic-controlled cities of Austin, Houston, McAllen and San Antonio and Democratic-controlled counties of Bexar, Dallas, Harris, Hidalgo and Travis, among others.

They give the same reason: Allred voted against the POLICE Act, which makes the assault of a police officer a deportable offense. The bill was filed by 16 House Republicans after criminal aliens were increasingly allegedly targeting, assaulting and killing police officers. A similar bill was filed in the Senate but went nowhere under Democratic control.

Democrats at the border are also endorsing Cruz, including Zapata County Sheriff Raymundo Del Bosque, Presidio County Sheriff Danny Dominguez, Brewster County Sheriff Ronny Dodson, Reeves County Sheriff Art Granado, Kenedy County Judge Charles Burns and Reeves County Judge Leo Hung. Many are from the 55 counties that declared an invasion, the Center Square exclusively reported.

“The crisis at our southern border threatens our communities and well-being every single day,” Judge Hung said.

“We used to live in a state where we could walk outside without fear of getting hurt,” he added. “Now, because of the policies of the National Democratic Party, we fear for our safety every time we step outside. I’ve been a Democrat all my life and will continue to be, but no one has fought harder to secure the border than Senator Ted Cruz, which is why I am endorsing him for reelection and look forward to his victory in November.”

Disney Exec. Overseeing Trump-Kamala Debate Is Harris’s Donor, Friend

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A high-ranking Disney executive overseeing ABC News operations — which is set to host possibly the only presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris in September — turned out to be a donor to Harris’s campaign and her longtime friend.

The New York Times reported that Dana Walden currently serves as the co-chairman of Disney Entertainment, overseeing several of the company’s television endeavors, such as ABC News and ABC Entertainment. Walden donated to Harris’s various political campaigns in recent years.

She first met Harris in 1994, while their husbands, Matt Walden and Doug Emhoff, have known each other since the 1980s. Harris previously described Walden and her husband as “extraordinary friends.”

The Waldens started donating to Harris’s political campaigns when she ran for San Francisco District Attorney in 2003.

Additionally, they have hosted several fundraisers for Harris at their upscale Los Angeles home.

“In many ways, Dana and Matt are responsible for my marriage,” Harris said at a fundraiser held at the Waldens’ home in 2022.

ABC News disputed the idea that Dana Walden’s relationship with Harris is a clear example of a conflict of interest that could negatively impact Trump in the upcoming debate on Sept. 10, 2024. The company stated that Walden oversees 18 businesses across the vast Disney empire, is only involved in corporate matters, such as budgets and staff sizes, and is not involved in editorial decisions.

“ABC News has built its longstanding reputation on journalistic integrity. All editorial decisions are in the hands of ABC News management and the seasoned journalists and producers of ABC, who hold themselves to the highest journalistic standards,” the network said in the statement.

“Even the New York Times is calling this out. One more reason the debate with @ABC News is a set-up,” Sean Spicer of the Sean Spicer Show said.

New Info Suggests J6 DNC Pipe Bomb Might’ve Been Planted Minutes before Discovery

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) For more than the last three years, the FBI has told the public that the pipe bombs discovered outside the DNC and RNC headquarters on Jan. 6, 2021, had been planted in those respective locations the night before.

According to the FBI, those devices sat for some 17 until shortly before 1 p.m. on Jan. 6 , when a female pedestrian found the RNC pipe bomb. Then, the DNC pipe bomb was discovered by a plainclothes Capitol Police officer at 1:07 p.m.—right as violence at the Capitol was beginning.

As Headline USA revealed last month, the FBI had a suspect identified by Jan. 10, 2021, but never made any arrests.

The FBI’s narrative has raised questions as to how the Secret Service’s bomb-sniffing dogs missed the DNC pipe bomb when sweeping the building the morning of Jan. 6. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris travelled to the DNC at 11:25 a.m. that morning, when the pipe bomb was thought to be still sitting outside.

But new reports are calling the FBI’s narrative into question.

On Monday, Blaze Media reported that Congress is examining the possibility that the pipe bomb was planted outside the DNC midday on Jan. 6, when Vice President-elect Kamala Harris was inside the building.

“A senior congressional investigator told Blaze News the latest theory is that the DNC bomb was planted less than 15 minutes before it was discovered at 1:05 p.m.,” Blaze reported.

“That would mean the bomb was placed near a park bench on the southwest side of the DNC building 22 minutes before Harris was removed — not 17 hours earlier, as long claimed by the FBI.”

On Wednesday, investigative reporter Julie Kelly put more meat on the bone of Blaze’s intial article, releasing new footage showing an apparent law enforcement officer from Harris’s security detail exiting a DC Metro Police SUV at 12:51 p.m., and walking towards the area where the pipe bomb was found—with a bag in hand. Minutes later, the same officer walked back to the police vehicle with bag still in hand.

“What exactly was he doing? Did he set the device? And if he was acting on the up-and-up, how in the world did he not see a pipe bomb sitting right there?” Kelly asked.

For Revolver News’s Darren Beattie, who’s broken numerous stories on the pipe bomb case, Kelly’s footage makes it overwhelmingly likely that the FBI surveillance footage is fake and the bombs were actually planted not the evening before, but day of Jan. 6. Beattie has previously analyzed surveillance footage of the J5/6 pipe bomber, showing that the FBI has failed to release footage that would have shown the bomber planting the device.

When now-retired FBI official Steven D’Antuono was asked about the DNC surveillance footage last year, he pled ignorance.

“You know, the case agents describe—people put those videos together for us to kind of put out there. I wasn’t part of playing—you know, I wasn’t editing the videos or putting the videos together as the ADIC,” D’Antuono told Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky.

“I’m not sure. No one, you know, explained to me that there was—the reason why that would have been left out.”

At the time, D’Antuono also said that the pipe bombs were planted the night before.

“How confident are you that the individual depicted in the surveillance footage on January 5th set both of those pipe bombs in place?” Massie asked, to which D’Antuono replied: “So the video that we saw, I feel confident that by the video that we have, that that person planted those.”
