Democrat Booth at Ohio County Fair Promotes Trump Assassination

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) The Secret Service was called to investigate, and a local sheriff was considering filing charges, after Democrats distributed buttons advocating for the assassination of President Donald Trump at an Ohio county fair.

The episode last week at the Ashland County Fair was made viral on social media by the popular Libs of TikTok account, garnering more than 1.2 million views on X.

Ashland County Sheriff Kurt Schneider opened an investigation Thursday after complaints began coming in about the Democrats’ booth in the fairground exhibitor’s barn.

“This particular incidence was a a red ball cap with ‘Felon’ across the top of it and ‘Is he dead yet’ and some other innuendos about his obituary— and we are referring to the president of the United States,” Schneider said.

The buttons, selling for $2 apiece, also featured the dogwhistle code “8647,” which previously led former FBI Director James Comey to be investigated by the Secret Service after he controversially posted a photo of it on social media.

Schneider said he had referred the fair incident to Secret Service, but it was “their decision” as to whether they would act. He also was looking into the possibility of criminal charges.

Democrats responded defiantly, claiming they had been subject to censorship

“This incident is not an isolated event but part of a dangerous pattern,” the Ashland County Democratic Party complained in a statement.

“We have seen instances of abuse of power before,” it continued. “Nixon kept an enemies list and attempted to use the IRS to target journalists. McCarthy dragged writers, actors, and reporters before hearings and wrecked careers with blacklists and loyalty oaths. Those were shameful chapters. However, even then, the machinery of the state was not routinely deployed to silence the chairs of opposing parties at local community events.”

State Sen. Bill DeMora, D-Columbus, also circled the wagons, suggesting that Democrats would wage a legal battle against Schneider and fair organizers for violating their First Amendment rights.

“[The sheriff] is wrong and will lose any battle in court,” DeMora said, according to News 5 Cleveland.

The conflict comes amid the backdrop of a growing debate over the limits of “free speech” after left-wing extremists have committed several brazen acts of political violence—including the Sept. 10 assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk and at least two previous attempts on Trump’s life.

Democrats, in turn, have lashed out over the cancellation of ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, who violated directives from the Federal Communications Commission by pushing disinformation to blame “MAGA” supporters for the attack.

Schneider said radical leftists seeking to push beyond the boundaries of their constitutional protections could take it some place else.

“I mean, there is free speech in this world,” he said. “But the county fair and what we are trying to here with all the kids is not the place.”

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A video has resurfaced of Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey speaking in Somali during a political address.

Frey recorded the video in June in response to President Donald Trump’s travel ban on war-torn Somalia, but it gained momentum on Sunday after critics shared it widely on social media.

The clip shows Frey first speaking in Somali, introducing himself and extending solidarity to the city’s large Somali American population. More than 80,000 Somali Americans live in Minnesota, with roughly 25,000 residing in Minneapolis.

“You are a vital part of the fabric that makes our city strong, diverse and united,” Frey said, first in Somali and then in English. “No matter what policies may be introduced by President Donald Trump, Minneapolis stands with you and values who you are and what you bring to our city.”

He added, “The bond between Somalia and Minneapolis is longstanding and it’s deep. We will not let Donald Trump’s bans alienate our Somali residents, our neighbors, and friends whom we love.”

The video drew criticism from social media accounts such as Wall Street Mav, which accused Frey of “now making commercials in Somali.”

Frey has long aligned with the radical left and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Despite this, he is now facing a challenge from Minnesota State Senator Omar Fatehm, a democratic socialist and son of Somali immigrants.

Forgiveness and Revival: Charlie Kirk Celebrated at Memorial Service

(Chris Woodward, The Center Square) Thousands showed up in person, and millions tuned in Sunday for the memorial of Charlie Kirk.

The Christian and conservative activist was shot and killed Sept. 10 during an event at Utah Valley University.

Sunday’s memorial was held at State Farm Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona, the same state where Kirk’s Turning Point USA (TPUSA) organization is headquartered. Live performances of Christian music occurred between speeches. Videos of Kirk speaking to people at TPUSA events also appeared on monitors.

Kirk’s wife, Erika Kirk, said people have responded to his death the way that her late husband would have wanted.

“After Charlie’s assassination, we didn’t see violence, we didn’t see rioting, we didn’t see revolution, instead we saw revival, with some people opening a Bible for the first time in a decade,” said Erika Kirk, now CEO of TPUSA. “We saw people pray for the first time since they were children, we saw people go to a church service for the first time in their entire lives.”

Tyler Robinson, 22, of Utah, has been arrested and charged with the murder of Charlie Kirk. The state of Utah is pursuing the death penalty.

“That man, that young man, I forgive him,” Erika Kirk said about Robinson.

Vice President JD Vance said Kirk was a leader for not only young people, but the nation. Vance called on Americans to do the same.

“We will speak the truth every single day for Charlie, we will rebuild this United States of America to greatness for Charlie, we will never shrink, we will never cower, and we will never falter, even when staring down the barrel of a gun for Charlie,” said Vance. “We will remember that he is a hero to the United States of America, and he is a martyr for the Christian faith.”

Donald Trump Jr. called Kirk a brother. So did Stephen Miller. The White House policy advisor promised Kirk that he and others will continue the political activism that Kirk started.

“We will make you proud, we will finish the job, we will stand every day for what is true, beautiful, good, and we will achieve victory for our children, families, civilization and for every patriot who stands with us.”

Dr. Ben Carson, the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) during Trump’s first term in office, encouraged the attendees and viewers to be like Charlie Kirk.

“Stand up for what you believe in,” said Carson.

U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Florida, said that she would not be in office today if it were not for Charlie Kirk. The congresswoman previously worked for Kirk’s TPUSA as part of an effort to reach Hispanic voters.

“His name will stand alongside George Washington’s, John F Kennedy’s, and Martin Luther King, Jr.’s” said Luna.

Dr. Frank Turek, a Christian author and broadcaster known for programs such as “I Don’t Have Enough Faith To Be An Atheist,” also shared stories of his close personal relationship with Kirk. Turek stressed that Kirk is not in Heaven because of his marriage or his work in politics.

“Charlie Kirk is in Heaven because His Savior sacrificed himself for Charlie Kirk,” said Turek.

Podcaster Benny Johnson pointed to various people in government, saying God put them in their position, the same God that Kirk spoke of during his TPUSA appearances. That includes President Trump.

“God saved our president from an assassin’s bullet for this moment,” he said, referring to the failed assasination attempt of Trump at a campaign event in July 2024 in Butler, Penn.

Johnson also sensed something spiritual was underway at State Farm Stadium.

“Evil thought there would be a funeral today,” said Johnson. “God created a revival.”

Other speakers at the Charlie Kirk Memorial include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr, and Justin Streiff, chief operating officer at TPUSA.

“He loved God,” said Streiff. “The last 31 years were not his life. It was his calling.”

Jazzy Crockett Claims Committing Crimes Doesn’t Make You a Criminal

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, has been touted by some as the future of the Democrats, and a viral clip last week revealed just where the party may be heading.

Since at least 2020, left-wingers have leaned into lawlessness with movements like “defund the police,” as well as the recent uptick in political violence targeting conservative and moderate public figures with whom they disagree.

During a podcast appearance with professional groomer and Netflix star Jonathan Van Ness, Crockett sought to shore up her core constituency by reassuring lawbreakers they had done nothing wrong, as long as their “mindset” was sufficiently leftist.

“[J]ust because someone has committed a crime, it doesn’t make them a criminal,” she claimed. “…Committing a crime can come from a lot of different reasons.”

But Crockett was not talking about Jean Valjean stealing a loaf of bread to feed his starving family. As the Gateway Pundit observed, she recently diminished the rape and murder of a 20-year-old autistic woman, Kayla Hamilton, by an illegal MS-13 gang member.

Crockett voted against legislation intended to crack down on gang violence, accusing Republicans of throwing a “random dead person’s name on something.”

Many of the brutal gang crimes by illegals have occurred in Crockett’s own home state of Texas, including the murder and rape of 12-year-old Houston resident Jocelyn Nungaray in 2024.

However, Crockett’s callous disregard for victims of violent crime did not end with “random” vulnerable young females. On the very day that conservative activist Charlie Kirk was due to be laid to rest in Phoenix, she appeared on CNN’s State of the Union to wage a vicious blood-libel, insinuating that the Sept. 10 murder of the 31-year-old father and husband by a left-wing extremist was justified due to racism.

“Charlie Kirk continuously put out—there was rhetoric that specifically targeted people of color,” Crockett falsely claimed in the interview with notorious propaganda pusher Dana Bash.

True to form, Crockett made Kirk’s assassination all about herself. She claimed her “no” vote on a recent House resolution condemning political violence was due to the fact that Kirk “was talking negatively” about her—even though she admitted she didn’t know it at the time.

“The idea of a new-age relic being propped up was something that I just could not subscribe to,” Crockett claimed. “And it is unfortunate that more of my colleagues, even on my side of the aisle, could not see the amount of harm that this man was attempting to inflict upon our communities.”

After Republicans in the majority unanimously supported a similar resolution following the June murder of Democrat Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman, her husband and dog by a political appointee of Gov. Tim Waltz, only 95 of the 213 House Democrats (45%) voted to condemn Kirk’s assassination.

Crockett, who is at risk of losing her House seat following recent redistricting in Texas, is “weighing her options” for a possible Senate run in 2026 or may seek to run for Texas attorney general, the Dallas Morning News reported.

Report: Investigators Have Found No Evidence That Kirk Assassin Was Part of Left-Wing Network

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) NBC News reported Saturday that investigators have yet to find evidence that alleged Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson was part of a wider left-wing network.

“Thus far, there is no evidence connecting the suspect with any left-wing groups,” an anonymous source familiar with the investigation told NBC.

“Every indication so far is that this was one guy who did one really bad thing because he found Kirk’s ideology personally offensive,” this person reportedly added.

Robinson reportedly had a sexual relationship with a man named Lance Twiggs, who was his roommate and was seeking a sex change. Some of the people he talked to online reportedly said he was left-leaning on some issues, but was also a supporter of the Second Amendment. He didn’t express his political opinions much, they said.

The report comes six days after FBI Director Kashyap Patel said that his agents are interviewing other suspects in the assassination.

“Our investigation is ongoing. We’re interviewing dozens and dozens of suspects, subjects, witnesses and the like,” Patel said last Monday on Fox & Friends.

Also last Monday, the Washington Free Beacon reported that the FBI is investigating social media accounts that appeared to have foreknowledge of the assassination. For instance, on Sept. 3 someone posted that “it’d be funny if someone like Charlie kirk got shot on September 10th LMAO.”

“Several of the accounts appear to belong to transgender individuals, and at least one of them followed suspect Tyler Robinson’s roommate, with whom Robinson was allegedly in a relationship, on TikTok,” the Free Beacon reported.

Robinson, for his part, reportedly turned himself in, but is now refusing to cooperate. He’s been placed on suicide watch.

Bullet That Hit Charlie Kirk Purportedly Made No Exit Wound

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Andrew Kolvet, the executive producer of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” said Saturday that he spoke with the surgeon who worked on conservative activist Charlie Kirk at the hospital. According to Kolvet, the surgeon said the .30-caliber bullet that hit conservative activist Charlie Kirk made no exit wound because Kirk is “like the man of steel.”

“He said the bullet ‘absolutely should have gone through, which is very very normal for a high powered, high velocity round. I’ve seen wounds from this caliber many times and they always just go through everything. This would have taken a moose or two down, an elk, etc.’ But it didn’t go through. Charlie’s body stopped it,” Kolvet said on Twitter/X.

The surgeon supposedly explained that “his bone was so healthy and the density was so so impressive that he’s like the man of steel. It should have just gone through and through. It likely would have killed those standing behind him too.”

The coroner found the round just beneath Kirk’s skin, Kolvet added.

By comparison, the .30-caliber round that Secret Service counter-sniper David King fired at alleged would-be Trump assassin Thomas Crooks made five wounds. According to the medical examiner who autopsied Crooks, he suffered five gunshot wounds—an entry wound, an exit wound, a re-entry wound, and “two corresponding, partial re-exit wounds.”

“There is a corresponding, partial gunshot re-exit wound on the lateral right upper back … There is an additional, corresponding partial gunshot re-exit wound on the lateral right upper back,” stated Crooks’s autopsy report, which was obtained exclusively by Headline USA.

The bullet that hit Crooks came from a 300 Win Mag cartridge, which is more powerful than the .30-06 that allegedly was used in the Kirk assassination—but both have the same caliber bullet.

Kolvet’s statement comes amidst public questions about what happened to the .30-06 round said to have slain Kirk. Ballistics experts have floated various theories about what really happened, speculating that Kirk may have been shot from somewhere else—possibly from his right side or even from below.

Kolvet’s claims have been met with widespread skepticism online.

Pentagon Now Requiring Media to Get Approval before Reporting Even Unclassified Info

(Headline USA) The Pentagon says it will require credentialed journalists at the military headquarters to sign a pledge to refrain from reporting information that has not been authorized for release — including unclassified information.

Journalists who don’t abide by the policy risk losing credentials that provide access to the Pentagon, under a 17-page memo distributed Friday that steps up media restrictions imposed by the administration of President Donald Trump.

“Information must be approved for public release by an appropriate authorizing official before it is released, even if it is unclassified,” the directive states. The signature form includes an array of security requirements for credentialed media at the Pentagon.

Advocates for press freedoms denounced the non-disclosure requirement as an assault on independent journalism. The new Pentagon restrictions arrive as Trump expands threats, lawsuits and government pressure as he remakes the American media landscape.

“If the news about our military must first be approved by the government, then the public is no longer getting independent reporting. It is getting only what officials want them to see,” said National Press Club President Mike Balsamo, also national law enforcement editor at The Associated Press. “That should alarm every American.”

Hegseth says no more permission to ‘roam the halls’

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, a former Fox News Channel personality, highlighted the restrictions in a social media post on X.

“The ‘press’ does not run the Pentagon — the people do. The press is no longer allowed to roam the halls of a secure facility,” Hegseth said. “Wear a badge and follow the rules — or go home.”

The Pentagon this year has evicted many news organizations while imposing a series of restrictions on the press that include banning reporters from entering wide swaths of the Pentagon without a government escort — areas where the press had access in past administrations as it covers the activities of the world’s most powerful military.

The Pentagon was embarrassed early in Hegseth’s tenure when the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, was inadvertently included in a group chat on the Signal messaging app where the Defense secretary discussed plans for upcoming military strikes in Yemen. Trump’s former national security adviser, Mike Waltz, took responsibility for Goldberg being included and was shifted to another job.

The Defense Department also was embarrassed by a leak to The New York Times that billionaire Elon Musk was to get a briefing on the U.S. military’s plans in case a war broke out with China. That briefing never took place, on Trump’s orders, and Hegseth suspended two Pentagon officials as part of an investigation into how that news got out.

Media organizations clap back

On Saturday, the Society of Professional Journalists also objected to the Pentagon’s move, calling it “alarming.”

“This policy reeks of prior restraint — the most egregious violation of press freedom under the First Amendment — and is a dangerous step toward government censorship,” it said in a statement Saturday. “Attempts to silence the press under the guise of “security” are part of a disturbing pattern of growing government hostility toward transparency and democratic norms.”

And Matt Murray, executive editor of The Washington Post, said in the paper’s columns Saturday that the new policy runs counter to what’s good for the American public.

“The Constitution protects the right to report on the activities of democratically elected and appointed government officials,” Murray said. “Any attempt to control messaging and curb access by the government is counter to the First Amendment and against the public interest.”

Kamala Didn’t Want Pete Buttigieg as a Running Mate Because He’s Gay

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Embattled former Vice President Kamala Harris reportedly admitted in her forthcoming book, 107 Days, that she passed over Pete Buttigieg, the former transportation secretary, as her running mate in 2024 because he is gay.

Tellingly, Buttigieg was considered by her own team to be one of the best-qualified choices. However, his sexual orientation proved too much.

“We were already asking a lot of America: to accept a woman, a Black woman, a Black woman married to a Jewish man,” Harris wrote, according to The Atlantic.

“Part of me wanted to say, ‘Screw it, let’s just do it.’ But knowing what was at stake, it was too big of a risk. And I think Pete also knew that — to our mutual sadness,” Harris added.

Buttigieg, who is married to a man and has two children, rebuked Harris’s remarks in a Thursday interview with Politico.

“I was surprised when I read that. I just believe in giving America more credit than that,” he said. “My experience in politics has been that the way that you earn trust with voters is based mostly on what they think you’re going to do for their lives, not on categories.”

Harris’s decision to pass on Buttigieg highlights a contradiction with her and the Democrats’ claims about Trump’s record on LGBTQ matters.

In 2020, Trump became the first president to appoint an openly gay man to a cabinet-level position when he elevated Richard Grenell to acting Director of National Intelligence. In his second term, Trump appointed Scott Bessent, an openly gay man, as treasury secretary in 2025.

DOJ Launches ‘Threat Assessment’ after Newsom Posts about Noem

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The Trump administration engaged in melodrama on Saturday, launching a “threat assessment” after California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office posted a message about Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. 

On Saturday morning, Newsom’s press office wrote on X that Noem was “going to have a bad day today,” then added, “You’re welcome, America.” 

Acting U.S. Attorney Central District of California Bill Essayli said he interpreted the post as a threat against Noem, prompting immediate involvement from federal prosecutors and the U.S. Secret Service. 

“We have zero tolerance for direct or implicit threats against government officials,” a pearl-clutching Essayli wrote in response, noting the matter was referred to the Secret Service for a “full threat assessment.” 

The Secret Service confirmed receipt of the referral but said it would not comment on “specific protective intelligence matters.” 

Hours later, Newsom’s office tried to spin the remark, suggesting the post was about the governor signing “historic legislation” to protect so-called immigrant communities and hold President Donald Trump “accountable.” 

The law aims to bar law enforcement officers from covering their faces during operations, a move seemingly aimed at ICE agents who wear masks while apprehending illegal aliens. 

DHS noted that agents conceal their faces due to ongoing threats against officers identified online. A violation of Newsom’s new law would be treated as a misdemeanor.

It remains unclear how the state intends to enforce the measure on federal agents who are subject to federal, not state, law. 

In an X post, Newsom framed the unenforceable law as proof California refuses “to be bullied by these ‘secret police’ tactics — and we’ll keep standing up for Californians against this administration’s dangerous actions.” 

DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin blasted the move, telling journalist Breanna Morello that Newsom was deliberately endangering ICE officers. 

“Sanctuary politicians’ rhetoric comparing ICE to ‘secret police’—likening them to Gestapo—is diabolical,” she added. “This comes after today his office threatened Secretary Noem saying she would ‘have a bad day.’”

Ilhan Omar Doubles Down on Kirk Smear: Leave Him in ‘Dustbin of History’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., escalated her smear campaign against slain conservative icon Charlie Kirk, declaring in a recent interview that his legacy belongs in the “dustbin of history.” 

Omar made the comments Friday during a lengthy interview on CNN’s The Source, where host Kaitlan Collins—nearly apologizing for pressing her—asked if her criticism was appropriate so soon after Kirk’s assassination. 

In response, Omar said, “What I find jarring is that there are so many people willing to excuse the most reprehensible things that he said—that they agree with that, that they’re willing to have monuments for him, that they want to create a day to honor him, and that they want to produce resolutions in the House of congress honoring his life and legacy.” 

She added, “It is one thing to care about his life, because obviously so many people loved him, including his children and wife. But I am not going to sit here and be judged for not wanting to honor any legacy this man has left behind. That should be in the dustbin of history, and we should hopefully move on and forget the hate that he spewed every single day.” 

These remarks marked the latest in Omar’s media tour attacking Kirk and Republicans for seeking to honor his legacy with a congressional resolution. 

Omar has repeatedly and falsely accused Kirk of attacking “black women,” claiming he was full of hatred and spewed racism. She even endorsed a video by a user who smeared Kirk as a “reprehensible human being.” 

These remarks nearly triggered a censure resolution, but it failed after four Republicans—Reps. Cory Mills, R-Fla., Mike Flood, R-Neb., Jeff Hurd, R-Colo., and Tom McClintock, R-Calif.—sided with Democrats to shield her.
