Still on Tahoe Time: Biden Catches Cat-Nap While Meeting w/ Maui Survivors

(Headline USA) Despite having had back-to-back vacations at Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, and Lake Tahoe, California, a jetlagged President Joe Biden appeared to fall asleep Tuesday while meeting with survivors of the devastating wildfires that ravaged the Hawaiian island of Maui.

It was one of several gaffes that have unfolded over a two-week span feeding the perception that Biden had little regard for the victims of the natural disaster, many of whom are likely to have been children home alone during the workday.

While just over 100 fatalities have been confirmed as of Wednesday, the final death toll is believed to be closer to 1,000.

During a Tuesday night dinner, however, Biden was caught on camera shutting his eyes while listening to a speaker discuss the devastation. He was the only one in the room with his head bowed and eyes closed, and seemed to snap out of it after briefly nodding off.

This isn’t the first time Biden has fallen asleep at a public event. Shortly after he took office, the president attended the COP26 climate conference, where he appeared to doze off during the opening speeches.

More recently, he had a brief nap while conducting a one-on-one diplomatic meeting in July with Israeli President Isaac Herzog.

Biden has been blasted for his response to the tragedy in Maui, which he initially refused to even comment on.

Critics have also taken issue with “tasteless” jokes he made while visiting the site of the wildfire.

“You guys catch the boots out here? That’s a hot ground, man,” he said, pointing to the boots on the paws of a cadaver dog, which is trained to find human remains.

Also during his visit, he claimed to have “a little sense” of what the residents of Maui are going through because of a small kitchen fire in his Delaware home almost 20 years ago.

“I almost lost my wife, my ’67 Corvette and my cat,” he said.

Many Maui residents made it clear that they did not want Biden on their island. When he arrived on the island, his motorcade was met with chants of “Go home, Joe!” from angry locals with signs that read “No Comment.”

“I don’t want him here,” Lahaina resident Jay Awan said. “He’s just coming to Maui to look good in front of the cameras.”

Some also offered more obscene reactions.

Gaetz Introduces Resolution to Censure Biased D.C. Judge Chutkan

(Abdul–Rahman Oladimeji Bello, Headline USA) Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., recently initiated a resolution to censure, investigate and ultimately remove U.S.District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan from office for being openly biased in carrying out her official responsibilities.

Gaetz made this proposition against the district judge on claims that Chutkan shows “open bias and partisanship in her official duties on the bench,” the Epoch Times reported.

Chutkan, currently overseeing a case against former President Donald Trump for alleged conspiracy relating to his challenge of the 2020 election results, has also ruled over cases related to the Jan.6 Capitol protest. The Obama-appointed district judge known for her harsh prison sentences has already sentenced about 1,000 people for crimes relating to the Jan. 6 protest.

“Judge Tanya Chutkan’s extreme sentencing of January 6th defendants, while openly supporting the violent Black Lives Matter riots of 2020, showcases a complete disregard for her duty of impartiality and the rule of law,” Gaetz said.

Chutkan never hid her “open partisanship” as she once lamented how Trump “remains free to this day” during a hearing related to the Capitol incident, Gaetz added.

“Such partisan commentary by Judge Chutkan has been ongoing and calls into question her fitness as a judge and … Chutkan’s comments and activities on and off the bench violate all five canons of the Code of Conduct for United States Judges,” Gaetz’s resolution proclaimed.

“Justice may be blind, but the American people are not—we see Judge Chutkan for her actions, and we rebuke them in the greatest possible sense.”

Gaetz proposed that Chutkan be censured and condemned from the House in his resolution. He also proposed that the House Committee on the Judiciary launch an investigation to find evidence proving that the House should remove her from office on impeachment or other misdemeanors.

REPORT: Globalists Plan to Ban Meat, Dairy and Private Vehicles in 14 U.S. Cities by 2030

(Corine Gatti, Headline USA) A group of climate activists funded by billionaire globalist Michael Bloomberg and linked to the World Economic Forum aims to seize regulatory control in nearly 100 cities worldwide—including 14 major U.S. cities—within the next decade.

If successful their radical measures would leave people with no choice but to accept the consumption of insects and the use of public transport, according to a 2019 report that recently resurfaced.

The Federalist reported Saturday that the C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group’s list of targets included Austin; Boston; Chicago; Houston; Los Angeles; Miami; New Orleans; New York City; Philadelphia; Phoenix; Portland, Oregon; San Francisco; Washington, D.C.; and Seattle.

The alarming report, titled “The Future of Urban Consumption in a 1.5°C World,” suggested eliminating private vehicle ownership, permitting one short-haul return flight every three years per person, allowing only three new clothing items per person per year, and removing meat and dairy by 2030, the Gateway Pundit reported.

Fact-checkers such as the globalist Agence France-Presse were quick to point out that the C40 report included an escape hatch for plausible deniability, lest it encounter any criticism or ridicule.

“This report does not advocate for the wholesale adoption of these more ambitious targets in C40 cities; rather, they are included to provide a set of reference points,” it claimed.

The report’s original publication came on the heels of the widely mocked Green New Deal, put forward by then freshman U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio–Cortez, D-N.Y. in early 2019.

A controversial “draft” version of the “Squad” leader’s failed proposal included things like ending plane travel and meat consumption for commoners within the same time frame in order to attain net-zero carbon-dioxide emissions to avert the imminent apocalypse that the Bronx lawmaker predicted was only 12 years away.

But despite its defeat, many of the core proposals put forward in the massive spending bill were subsequently rehashed by the Biden administration via measures like the so-called Inflation Reduction Act.

And it appears the socialist-inspired elites haven’t given up on pushing the rest of their “Great Reset” policies just yet, with Biden having recently hinted at the declaration of a climate “emergency” that would resemble the pandemic-era curtailment of civil liberties with an even more abstract and scientifically dubious objective.

Meanwhile, the WEF has also been in action, launching efforts to turn Detroit into America’s first “smart city” after receiving $3 million from Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to push controversial ESG policies.

Other major urban centers are not waiting for organizations like the C40 and WEF to foist vegan diets and eco-friendly lifestyles onto their citizens. Earlier this year, New York City implemented caps on meat and dairy served in city institutions, while the United Kingdom announced a ban on gas-powered vehicles in 2030.

France banned short-haul commercial flights for carbon-dioxide emission reduction, but private jets—like those owned by elite globalist billionaires—are still allowed.

Top Democrat Insiders Plotting Michelle Obama 2024 Run

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) A new poll suggested there are ample reasons President Joe Biden aims to avoid a Democrat presidential primary debate at all costs, particularly if the wife of his former boss decides to retake the White House.

Biden was the overwhelming preference among declared Democrat primary contenders, far outpacing party scion Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and alleged candidate Marianne Williamson, according to a Center Square Voters’ Voice Poll of likely voters conducted July 31 to Aug. 3.

Those results shifted dramatically when Michelle Obama’s name entered the picture, with the former First Lady delivering a 48% to 36% stomping of the incumbent and capturing strong strong support across the board “from women, people younger than 55, moderate Democrats, voters without kids, and voters with children younger than 18.”

The poll results fall in the shadow of a growing movement from top Democrat party insiders to draft Michelle Obama as a 2024 candidate for “fear the bumbling and mumbling president — the subject of recent dementia rumors — losing to Trump especially if a third-party candidate enters the contest,” Radar Online reported.

“If Michelle announced, the election would go immediately from a hotly contested footrace to a landslide,” a Democrat source told the outlet.

Giving additional credence to the prospect of a presidential run, Barack Obama reportedly engaged in several meetings earlier this year with top Democrats “secretly rallying congressional support for an alternate 2024 candidate — despite having publicly backed his ex-Veep for a second term.”

Democrat House bigwigs, including “Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Whip Katherine Clark and Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar — as well as rising party stars like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Haley Stevens were reportedly at the get-togethers,” Radar Online relayed.

“Obama recognizes the gravity of the situation with Joe’s disappointing poll numbers,” a Beltway insider reportedly claimed. “He had hoped that the president would have rallied and come into his own at this point, but that clearly hasn’t happened.”

That shared sentiment and the Center Square poll results came as no surprise to longtime Trump ally Roger Stone.

“As I have said well over a year ago Michelle Obama will be the 2024 Democrat Nominee when they give Joe the hook,” Stone tweeted, to which a social media commentator quipped, “I mean, Obama is already running things… “

Wall Street Abandons NYC, Shifts $1 Trillion to Red State America

(Robert Jonathan, Headline USA) Since the advent of the coronavirus pandemic, about 160 Wall Street firms have reportedly left their traditional base in Democrat-controlled New York City and moved their headquarters south, taking approximately $1 trillion in financial assets with them.

Florida has become the primary relocation destination, with some opting for Tennessee,  North Carolina, or other Republican-led or leaning venues in the Sun Belt.

California, another Democrat-run dystopia, reportedly has similarly lost about $1 trillion in assets under management from firms fleeing mostly to Texas.

Regardless of one’s opinion of the finance sector, the wealth transfer is hardly a positive trend for local economic conditions, such as employment opportunities, downtown commercial real estate, general commerce in central districts, and the related ability for cities to pay their bills and maintain services, as effective or ineffective as those services may be.

The Bloomberg news organization, which analyzed corporate filings to come up with the numbers, explained that “The exodus from the Northeast and West Coast has meant the loss of thousands of high-paying jobs, straining city and state finances by sapping tax revenue. Commercial property markets have also lost valuable tenants at the same time they’ve been struggling with the new realities of hybrid work.”

Blomberg News added that “The moves, often born out of a desire for lower taxes, warmer weather and cheaper mansions, have pushed the industry’s footprint into parts of the US that previously didn’t have much of a finance presence beyond regional banks.”

Apart from the soaring cost of living and the previous imposition of COVID restrictions, Bloomberg notably omitted mentioning rampant violent crime in New York City and in various California municipalities ushered in by pandering, far-left, anti-business radicals in government who prioritize social justice theories over the realities of the effect of those policies on the quality of life there.

Technology has obviously made relocation logistics a lot easier, too.

The New York City area “remains the most powerful center for asset management,” Bloomberg insisted, at least now.

In reacting to the Bloomberg data, the New York Post asserted that “The mass migration threatens a crippling economic blow.”

According to the Post, the year 2022 saw Wall Street generating 16% of the city’s overall economic activity (and about 7% for the Empire State itself), so the stakes are high.

“Likewise, the exodus has grave tax implications for the city and state. Last year, financial firms paid $5.4 billion in New York taxes and accounted for nearly a quarter of all personal income tax collections. Tax revenue from the industry this year is headed for a ‘significant decline,'” the Post noted, citing a report from the New York state comptroller’s office.

With many Baby Boomers themselves moving south, investment firms are following the money, the Bloomberg news outlet, which is owned by former NYC mayor and 2020 Democrat president candidate Michael Bloomberg, suggested.

Last year, owing to public safety concerns, billionaire and GOP megadonor Ken Griffin famously moved his Citadel hedge fund to Florida from Chicago, another U.S. city where Democrats have normalized lawlessness.

Media Fight to Release Client List of Democrat Establishment-Linked FTX

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) It’s not the Jeffrey Epstein client list, but it’s a start.

A coalition of media outlets is fighting in court to release the list of roughly 9 million clients of the defunct crypto firm FTX—whose founder, Sam Bankman–Fried, was the second largest Democratic donor in the 2022 election.

Earlier this year, FTX published a list of the entities to which it owes money, revealing that its creditors include the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. The list also contains several Big Tech players, including Netflix, Apple and Meta.

However, a bankruptcy judge agreed to redact the names of roughly 9 million clients who had their money stuck in the now-defunct online cryptocurrency exchange.

In an appeal filed Monday, the media organizations argued that the bankruptcy judge was contradicting decades of case precedent by keeping the 9 million depositors secret.

“Despite the long-recognized rule that ‘during a chapter 11 reorganization, a debtor’s affairs are an open book,’ … the Bankruptcy Court concluded, in effect, that cryptocurrency-related bankruptcy cases are different,” said the media outlets, which include the N.Y. Times, Bloomberg and the Financial Times.

The media outlets lamented that FTX has been operating in “extraordinary level of secrecy that has kept the press, the public, and creditors in the dark about key—and routinely public—aspects of these consequential bankruptcy proceedings.”

Covering FTX’s bankruptcy is key to understanding its November 2022 collapse, which “sent shockwaves through the crypto-industry and global financial markets,” the outlets claimed.

“The implosion exposed billions of dollars in missing funds, and sparked regulatory and criminal investigations,” they continued. “Top executives have pled guilty to federal criminal charges, and FTX’s founder and former CEO, Samuel Bankman–Fried, is set to stand trial later this year on charges ranging from securities fraud to violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.”

Both FTX and its creditors have sought to keep the names of the company’s 9 million depositors secret. They have yet to file a response to the media outlets.

Meanwhile, Bankman–Fried pled not guilty on Tuesday in response to a new, superceding indictment filed against him in New York federal court this month after the Justice Department suspiciously dropped a previous campaign finance charge.

The superceding indictment relates to Bankman–Fried’s allegedly illegal political donations, although some suspect that Attorney General Merrick Garland may have been pulling strings to protect Bankman–Fried’s largely Democratic beneficiaries from getting entangled in the legal proceedings.

Prosecutors with the U.S. Attorney’s office in Manhattan seek to show that the $100 million Bankman–Fried allegedly donated to U.S. political campaigns and causes was part of his wider-ranging fraud scheme.

The 31-year-old California man was making his first court appearance in a drab beige prison uniform since his $250 million bail was revoked 10 days ago by Judge Lewis A. Kaplan.

The judge had granted a request by prosecutors to jail him after agreeing that the fallen cryptocurrency whiz had repeatedly tried to influence witnesses against him.

His trial is set to begin Oct. 3.

Portland Woman Vows to Ghost Dates Who Aren’t Climate Change Doomers

(Robert Jonathan, Headline USA) For the necessary chemistry that goes into a forming a long-term relationship, key factors typically include a background in common, shared values, physical attractiveness, personality and social and economic status.

For a Portland, Oregon, writer, climate-change alarmism, or as she puts it, “climate compatibility,” however, could be a first-date dealmaker or breaker.

That writer, Erica Berry, indicated that she is back on the dating scene after breaking up with her boyfriend, a seemingly well-meaning companion who apparently was too chill, as it were, about her apparent obsession with global warming.

In an guest essay for the New York Times, Berry further explained that addressing a looming environmental apocalypse is now an important part of her screening process for a potential mate.

“This time, I’m swallowing my fear of sounding too anxious and am talking about climate change early on,” she asserted.

“After all, it is hard to fall in love with a person if we are not also falling in love with the future we want to create together.”

Berry went to clarify that “I don’t approach these conversations with an agenda or as a quiz. But I’ve found that talking about how global warming affects our lives, however casually, becomes a sort of canary in the coal mine for learning about a person’s broader beliefs and behaviors. How black-and-white they see the world, how they view their role in the community, how they engage with science and systemic inequality.”

First dates can be awkward under the best of circumstances and even when people are on  their best behavior, which usually includes politely avoiding controversial or depressing topics.

Yet in the scenario Berry outlined, climate, coronavirus and identity politics are all fair game for discussion.

“The hydra of Covid-19 and climate disaster has given us a collective experience of loss. Though effects are magnified by social and racial inequity, nobody has been immune,” she wrote.

“Every first date I’ve been on has included a conversation about the pandemic, because we all have a story about how we made it through,” she maintained about the topics up for discussion.

Berry claimed that singles using the OkCupid dating app last year supposedly listed climate change in their profiles as their number-one concern.

“I don’t think those daters just want a partner who believes in global warming: We want someone willing to grapple with it, to do the inconvenient work of reimagining our own lives in the face of it.”

Reacting to the guest Times article, Washington Free Beacon senior writer Andrew Stiles quipped that “At least one woman in Portland won’t date you unless you enjoy deep conversations about our planet’s future and share her crippling climate anxiety. Conduct yourselves accordingly.”

Stiles also pointed out that, in general, very few liberals who virtue signal about climate change on social media and vote for that agenda “would ever be willing to make the sort of meaningful personal sacrifices environmental extremists want to impose on the general public.”

Memos Show Biden ‘Quid Pro Quo’ Extortion in Ukraine Was Not Policy-Based

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Recently released memos indicate that President Joe Biden’s “quid pro quo” extortion of Ukraine was not based upon policy concerns, but rather his own personal interest, Just the News reported.

In 2015, during Biden’s last years in the White House as Barack Obama’s vice president, State, Treasury and Justice Department officials formed a task force–the Interagency Policy Committee–and determined that Ukraine was deserving of a $1 billion U.S. loan guarantee.

“Ukraine has made sufficient progress on its reform agenda to justify a third guarantee,” reads an Oct. 1, 2015 memo.

Biden, however, threatened to withhold the loan to Ukraine, presumably in order to secure the cooperation of the foreign nation’s leaders.

According to the narrative of the mainstream media, Biden withheld the funding until Ukraine agreed to fire Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in order to enforce a pre-determined U.S. policy.

Rather, it increasingly appears that Biden sought to protect Burisma–and by extension his son, Hunter, and his own personal reputation–which was feeling the heat of Shokin’s latest investigation.

Shokin’s investigation was based upon a hunch, later to be affirmed, that Burisma Holdings, an energy firm, was engaged in a bribery scheme with the Biden family.

Notably, Biden seems to have collaborated with former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to secure Shokin’s firing.

The memos also show that State Department officials sent a message to Shokin before his firing, sending the opposite message. Further, top U.S. anti-corruption officials blamed the younger Biden for undercutting the progress that the nation had made in clearing away governmental corruption.

According to the report, George Kent, a top U.S. ambassador, told former Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch at the end of the Obama administration that Hunter had derailed Ukraine’s plans to purge corruption.

“The real issue to my mind was that someone in Washington needed to engage VP Biden quietly and say that his son Hunter’s presence on the Burisma board undercut the anti-corruption message the VP and we were advancing in Ukraine,” Kent wrote in November of 2016.

He added that was because “Ukrainians heard one message from us and then saw another set of behavior with the family association with a known corrupt figure whose company was known for not playing by the rules.”

Sen. Mike Lee Reposts InfoWars Message Not to ‘Comply’ w/ New COVID Mandates

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, has come under fire from Democrat operatives for reposting an InfoWars message instructing Americans not to comply with rumored COVID lockdowns that the Biden regime reportedly plans to impose this September, InfoWars reported.

In response to leftist fearmongering about the new COVID strain, InfoWars ran an initial article describing the impending lockdowns, beginning with government agencies such as the Transportation Security Administration and Border Patrol.

The report from the Alex Jones-fronted media site relied on information from whistleblowers within the two agencies, who suggested that masking policies will almost certainly return “when” COVID numbers continue to spike into October.

Other reports indicate that the Biden administration is already purchasing COVID equipment, citing “safety protocol” as its reasoning.

For example, the Pentagon has contracted with Hologic Sales and Service LLC, agreeing to a $1.5 million contract running from October through May of 2024 to supply federal “covid testing services.”

The Department of Veterans Affairs also awarded a $2 million contract to COVID test manufacturer Abbott Molecular Inc. beginning in late September and running through the following year.

Lee reposted the InfoWars article to his Twitter account, saying that Americans would only be forced to mask, get more vaccines and stay home “over my lifeless body.”

However, he immediately came under attack for his audacious suggestion that the federal government would impose draconian lockdowns for the latest version of COVID.

Utah state Rep. Brian King, a Democrat, scolded Lee for daring to associate with Jones, who last year was handed a nearly $1 billion fine by a leftist judge in the defamation trial over his allegations that the 2012 Sandy Hook school massacre was a false-flag operation relying on crisis actors.

“Infowars is your source for such garbage?,” he wrote. “Please. Even you are better than this. Stop peddling misinformation.”

Ed Krassenstein, a far-left operative, also took to Twitter to complain about Lee’s “dangerous” association with “conspiracy theories” from the likes of Jones.

“Why does this man still have a following?” Krassenstein asked of Jones.

Since last week, the mainstream media has made the rounds to stir up COVID hysteria.

NBC, for example, ran a story on the uptick in hospitalizations.

“COVID is making a comeback this summer,” NBC’s Lester Holt said.

“When will the new booster shots roll out?” he asked.

The new variant is called the EG.5 variant. According to a hysterical CNN report, “human behavior is the engine for this uptick.”

“Human behavior,” can, and has been, controlled by the federal government in the past, and it appears that the Biden regime is ramping up efforts to do so again by way of vaccinations, masking, and potentially lockdowns.

New York Times Calls to End Elections—Really

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The New York Times has been churning out some bizarre opinion articles lately, even by the newspaper’s own standards.

After advocating for black people to leave New York last week, the newspaper published a column Monday that calls for ending elections in the U.S.

The Times’s column comes as polls show Donald Trump dominating the GOP presidential primaries, and running neck-and-neck with incumbent Joe Biden. It also comes weeks after Biden crony Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he won’t be holding elections next year in Ukraine.

“If we want public office to have integrity, we might be better off eliminating elections altogether,” said columnist Adam Grant, a psychologist at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

“If you think that sounds anti-democratic, think again,” he added.

Instead of elections, Grant advocated for a system similar to ancient Greece, where some government officials were selected through sortition—a random lottery from a pool of candidates.

To support his argument, Grant cited “social science,” which is highly dubious, given that the vast majority of social studies fail to replicate.

Nevertheless, Grant claimed psychology experiments have shown that “groups actually made smarter decisions when leaders were chosen at random than when they were elected by a group or chosen based on leadership skill.”

The concept of majority rule—as opposed to being anointed by an an elite cabal with no more than the illusion of choice for the hoi polloi—is inherently corrupting, Grant continued.

“When you know you’re picked at random, you don’t experience enough power to be corrupted by it,” he reasoned. “Instead, you feel a heightened sense of responsibility: ‘I did nothing to earn this, so I need to make sure I represent the group well.’”

However, astute observers were quick to question the motive behind the Times article. With public trust in U.S. institutions at new lows, some questioned whether the powers-at-be are priming the public for the suspension of the 2024 elections.

“Bro. They’re really going to do it,” remarked Compact Magazine writer Malcom Kyeyune. “They’re going to fortify 2024 in the most controversial way possible and then hope that they can seed the narrative that functioning elections aren’t really that important to democracy.”

And sure enough, political writer Max Meyer noticed that The Atlantic also published an article against elections, on the same day as the New York Times column.

“OH MY GOD THERE’S ONE IN THE ATLANTIC TOO,” Meyer said. “Did a memo go out over the weekend to liberal authors that we must END voting to save ‘democracy?’”

Meyer noted that the leftist push to end elections could be so that the U.S. government can implement unpopular policies related to climate change and other controversial issues.

“It’s interesting that Grant wants to reframe democracy as governance based on ‘what is good for the people’ compared to ‘what the people want,’” he said. “It allows coercive policies like environmentalism based on his notion of what’s good… but what can’t win votes in ELECTIONS.”

As of the publication of this article, the 2024 presidential elections are still scheduled to be held on Nov. 5, 2024.
