Alex Jones Reflects on ‘End of Infowars’ after $1B Sandy Hook Verdict

'Every constitutional lawyer we've talked to has said: if they don't overturn this at the Texas and Connecticut Supreme Courts...the country is gone...'

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Jurors ordered popular right-wing pundit Alex Jones earlier this week to pay nearly $1 billion to Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims’ relatives and an FBI agent, who said he turned their loss and trauma into years of torment by promoting the lie that the rampage was a hoax.

In response, the mainstream media networks have all rushed to say that this is the end of Alex Jones, issuing a collective sigh of relief for the return to normalcy.

CNN, for example, reported that “the decision could shrink or even doom Jones’s Infowars media empire, which has been at the center of major conspiracy theories dating back to former President George W. Bush’s administration and was embraced by President Donald Trump.”

Meanwhile NBC called the penalty “historically high,” further claiming “the Infowars host and conspiracy theorist will be unlikely to evade” it.

Of course mainstream media networks should be careful about rooting for large defamation awards being issued in court. Such precedent could someday be reversed.

In any case, Jones had no interest in backing down to the corporate media hacks, who have long awaited this moment.

In an episode of Infowars yesterday, he attacked his establishment enemies.

“Every single major network I checked last night…they read off a script, and they said: ‘this is the end for Jones. He will never make it back from this. He will be homeless. He will be put off the air. He doesn’t have a billion dollars,” Jones mused.

He also suggested that the decision is far from final, and there will be a long appeals process which will likely overturn or minimize the financial damage that he faces.

“Every constitutional lawyer we’ve talked to has said: if they don’t overturn this at the Texas and Connecticut Supreme Courts…the country is gone, because they have violated every rule, every law, every type of garbage.,” Jones said.

“These judges were beyond tyrants,” he added.
