Biden Gives $850M to a Chinese Battery Company

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The Biden administration gave an $850 million conditional loan to a company called KORE Power so that it would build a battery production plant in Arizona and the United States’ reliance on China’s batteries would be decreased, even though the company itself is owned by the communist regime.

The administration presented the project as a way to “strengthen the domestic battery supply chain” and combat China’s grip on the global market. However, as it was revealed through the court documents and corporate disclosure filings that were obtained by the Washington Free Beacon, KORE, with its Idaho headquarters and a small staff of around 150 employees, has extensive roots in China.

KORE is 14% co-owned by Do-Fluoride New Materials (DFD), a Chinese battery manufacturer led by Chinese Communist Party official Li Shijiang, the records revealed.

In addition to that, one of KORE’s directors is Li Shijiang’s daughter, Li Lingyun, who also serves as vice chair of DFD and as vice president of China’s state-supervised Patent Protection Association, the news source wrote.

KORE disclosed in a November court filing that DFD New Energy, a China-based subsidiary of Do-Fluoride New Materials, will help it build the Arizona battery plant.

“The facility is under construction at present and DFD New Energy will assist in the buildout,” KORE’s CEO Lindsay Gorrill said.

DFD will help KORE build the Arizona facility by providing intellectual property, research and development and engineering capabilities, according to the Department of Energy.

The department also said that it conducted “extensive due diligence” on the arrangement while adding that KORE has been working to reduce its Chinese ownership, to eventually become completely independent of Chinese technology, the news source said.

“For a program that was supposed to decrease America’s reliance on China, this is incredibly counterproductive. It’s outrageous that a company partly owned by a Chinese company with ties to the CCP would be rewarded with taxpayer money,” Caitlin Sutherland, executive director of the watchdog group Americans for Public Trust, said.

Freedom Caucus Reveals Who McConnell Really Represents in Mocking Tweet

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) The House Freedom Caucus mocked Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., by calling out his true loyalties after the longtime senator announced that he planned to step down as Senate minority leader in November, The Hill reported.

Specifically, the conservative alliance identified the rapidly declining senator, who turned 82 in February, as both a Democrat and a representative of Ukraine:

“Our thoughts are with our Democrat colleagues in the Senate on the retirement of the Co-Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (D-Ukraine),” they wrote, proceeding to call for Republicans in Congress’s upper chamber not to wait for McConnell’s personal deadline but to do what is best for the party “IMMEDIATELY.”

Conservative satirical website the Babylon Bee was similarly inspired, running the headline “BREAKING: Ukraine To Lose Top Republican Senate Seat.”

McConnell made the announcement on Wednesday—triggering a possible succession crisis among RINO members of the uniparty who have patiently waited their turn since 2007, when McConnell was promoted from majority whip following the retirement of Sen. Bill Frist, R-Tenn.

“One of life’s most underappreciated talents is to know when it’s time to move on to life’s next chapter,” said McConnell. “So I stand before you today … to say that this will be my last term as Republican leader of the Senate.”

On Thursday, Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, because the first out of the gate to signal his hope of succeeding the longest tenured party leader in the history of the U.S. Senate

McConnell, who will not face re-election until 2026, did not indicate that he planned leave the Senate early, despite stepping down from his leadership role.

However, he would undoubtedly face a steep climb getting re-elected due to his high-profile feud with presumptive GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump and his increasing estrangement from the Republican Party base on many key issues.

McConnell capitulated to Democrats in February by signing on to a massive redistribution of wealth from the American working class to the Ukrainian government, and he reportedly joined Democrats this week in putting intense pressure on House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., to do the same.

“Every argument against this is wrong,” McConnell said at the time, defending the $95 billion package, the better part of which is destined for Ukraine.

“I feel strongly this is in our best interest, America’s best interest and the world’s best interests to do this,” he added.

He also faced criticism for refusing to give financial support to several Trump-backed candidates who faced close races during the 2022 midterm election.

Arizona’s Blake Masters, Nevada’s Adam Laxalt, Pennsylvania’s Mehmet Oz, Georgia’s Herschel Walker and other candidates in potentially close races were hung out to dry as McConnell prioritized the primary battle in Alaska to save fellow RINO Lisa Murkowski, costing his party a shot at regaining the majority.

From referring to the funding of Ukraine as America’s “No. 1 priority” to taking a “principled” stand against the Republican voter base, McConnell has doubled and tripled down on mortgaging the future of Americans for his foreign policy ventures.

Meanwhile, another fellow RINO, Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, thanked McConnell on the Senate floor Wednesday for his “extraordinary service not only to our caucus but more importantly to the Senate as an institution and our country.”

Trump Quietly Unveils Successor Pick to Replace McConnell

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Former President Donald Trump has secretly disclosed his pick to succeed Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who stirred Congress into a frenzy on Wednesday by announcing his retirement by the end of the year.

Trump privately encouraged Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., to pursue the leadership position set to become vacant upon McConnell’s departure, several media outlets reported on Thursday.

Daines, currently serving as the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, emphasized his focus on securing the majority ahead of the 2024 election.

“I told [Trump] the most important thing I can do this moment is to make sure we have a Senate majority in November,” Daines told Politico after the outlet revealed that Trump’s endorsement of Daines occurred before McConnell’s announcement.

Shortly after McConnell’s retirement announcement, several names were rumored to be potential replacements, including Minority Whip John Thune, R-S.D.; Republican Conference Chair John Barrasso, R-Wy.; and former Whip John Cornyn.

Out of the three, only Cornyn has officially declared his bid. “I am asking my Republican colleagues to give me the opportunity to succeed Leader McConnell,” Cornyn said in a statement, as reported by the Hill.

“Throughout my time I’ve built a track record of listening to colleagues and seeking consensus, while leading the fight to stop bad policies that are harmful to our nation and the conservative cause,” he added.

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., another rumored candidate, stated that whoever replaces McConnell should have a “relationship” with the Republican president.

Sen. Josh Hawley expressed his preference for Scott or Daines to become the next leader. While welcoming McConnell’s exit, Hawley remarked that it should have occurred last year.

“It’s time. My only question is, why wait until November? We need new leadership now,” he said, according to Newsweek.

McConnell is the longest-serving Senate leader, with 17 years under his belt. He was first elected to the Senate in 1985.

MURDOCK: Engoron, James Conspire to Seize Trump’s ‘Castle on a Cloud’

(Deroy Murdock, Headline USA) As a New Yorker, I wish Democrat Attorney General Letitia James and Gotham Judge Arthur Engoron would treat shoplifters, graffiti vandals, and armed robbers with just a puff of the volcanic rage with which they “get Trump.”

Former President Donald J. Trump’s civil-fraud indictment, trial, and $354.9 million penalty are an abortion of justice. That massive sum likely violates the U.S. Constitution’s Eighth Amendment requirement that there shall be no “excessive fines imposed.”

Appellate judges should vacate this travesty, with prejudice.

Why?

First, rather than approach this case fairly, James campaigned by promising to persecute Trump. “I will never be afraid to challenge this illegitimate president,” James said in 2018, heaping election-denial atop bias. “I will be shining a bright light into every dark corner of his real-estate dealings.”

James’s entire approach blends Inspector Javert’s monomaniacal bullying of recovering bread thief Jean Valjean in Les Misérables with, in spirit, a Bill of Attainder, which unconstitutionally hounds one specific individual.

Rather than feel bamboozled and pickpocketed, corporate executives testified that Trump repaid his loans, with interest, and sometimes ahead of schedule. They liked him so much that they wanted to lend him even more money.

Retired Deutsche Bank risk manager Nicholas Haigh testified on Oct. 11 that his company independently assessed and discounted Trump’s financial declarations. “I think the phrase we used might have been ‘sanity checks’ on the numbers,” Haigh said.

When Trump borrowed $125 million for his Doral golf course in 2011, Deutsche Bank modified Trump’s net worth from his stated $4.3 billion down to $2.4 billion—and then loaned accordingly.

“It’s a conservative measure to make these adjustments,” Managing Director David Williams testified Nov. 28, saying that such a “stress test” is “standard” practice.

James’s case is like prosecuting an alleged serial rapist, whose “victims” swear under oath that he was a perfect gentleman who dined with them and then dropped them off at home, untouched.

James’s partner in injustice is Judge Arthur Engoron. This Democrat Party donor should be booted from the bench for behaving more like the chairman of Hate Trump PAC than an honest, even-handed jurist.

First, on Sept. 26, Engoron found Trump “to be liable as a matter of law for persistent violations of Executive Law § 63(12).” Engoron so ruled, seven days before, in his own words, “a non-jury trial that began on Oct. 2, 2023.”

In other words, verdict first, testimony later. Having rendered his findings before hearing witnesses, Engoron dedicated the trial to assessing Trump’s penalty, not whether to impose one.

Second, once those witnesses spoke, Engoron ignored their testimony. Bank executives who said they suffered no fraud left Engoron cold.

Third, this case revolves around Trump allegedly overvaluing his properties to secure bigger, better loans.

In this connection, consider:

A 2.32-acre empty lot is for sale at 1063/1071 North Ocean Boulevard on Palm Beach Island. No house. No pool. It’s just a giant lawn. Price tag: $200 million.

North Ocean Boulevard

Meanwhile, a 14-minute drive and 5.6 miles down the same street, at 1100 South Ocean Boulevard, sits Trump’s 20-acre Mar-a-Lago estate.

It’s a palatial, 58-bedroom, 33-bathroom resort with gardens, fountains, a swimming pool, restaurants, ballrooms, and more. In the 1920s, General Foods owner Marjorie Merriweather Post spent $7 million—or $123 million today—to build this hideaway from scratch.

Mar-a-Lago
Mar-a-Lago. Value, according to Judge Engoron: $18 million / PHOTO: AP

Despite Post’s initial investment and ensuing luxuries, Engoron valued Mar-a-Lago at $18 million—just 9% of the price for that nearby patch of dirt.

This nonsense confirms that Engoron is terminally ignorant about real-estate values, pathologically biased against Trump, or both.

An appellate court should vaporize Engoron’s absurd, sadistic ruling. Those judges should grant Trump true justice: acquittal on all of James’s corrupt charges. That court then should sanction Engoron for blatant, partisan activism masquerading as “jurisprudence.”

Honest appellate judges should relegate this Dumpster fire to the nearest landfill. And they should slap severe, career-crippling sanctions on partisan Democrat tyrants Letitia James and Arthur Engoron.

Trump Breaks into Laughter at Border as Illegal Aliens Cheer Him On

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Former President Donald Trump couldn’t contain his laughter during his Thursday visit to the southern border when faced with a group of presumed illegal aliens waving enthusiastically at him, video footage showed.

In return, Trump waved back at the individuals and pumped his fist, seemingly as a sign of endearment. “Trump! Trump!” a man across the Rio Grande shouted. This peculiar exchange prompted Trump to burst into laughter, remarking, “They like Trump. Can you believe that?”

Trump visited the southern border on Thursday to assess the chaos primarily fueled by the Biden administration’s lax border policies and pro-immigration rhetoric. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott greeted and accompanied Trump through the border.

President Joe Biden also visited the southern border on the same day as Trump, escorted by federal border patrol agents. Biden’s visit came as his administration faced controversy due to unprecedented levels of illegal immigration.

Biden’s top border chief, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, was impeached by the House of Representatives over accusations that he lied to Congress about the border being secured. The impeachment was also fueled by his refusal to enforce federal immigration law. Mayorkas became the first cabinet member to be impeached since 1876.

While speaking at the border, Biden blamed the chaos on Congress for not passing an infamous border bill, dubbed by many as an amnesty bill.  “It’s long past time to act,” Biden claimed.

He later added, “You know and I know it’s the toughest, most efficient, most effective border security bill this country’s ever seen. So instead of playing politics with the issue, why don’t we just get together and get it done?”

In the face of the failure to pass the border bill, Biden is reportedly considering signing executive orders to rein in border crossings. Such a move ignited criticism as Biden claimed that he had done everything at his disposal to secure the border.

In contrast, Trump scolded Biden for the current influx of individuals crossing the border illegally. “The United States is being overrun by the ‘Biden migrant crime.’ It’s a new form of vicious violation to our country,” Trump said.

Both Trump and Biden are poised for a potential showdown in the upcoming 2024 election.

As Safety Declines, Buttigieg Warns Airlines over Wheelchair Damage

(Headline USA) During a recent spate of airline catastrophes or mid-air near-catastrophes, former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg was nowhere to be found.

Yet, after nary a word to address the growing issue of plane failures—which some attribute to the push to diversify flight crews and engineering staffs—the Biden administration’s Transportation secretary re-emerged Thursday, unveiling a plan to hold airlines accountable for damaging or losing wheelchairs.

The Transportation Department hopes to make it easier for the government to fine airlines for damaging or misplacing wheelchairs by making it an automatic violation of a federal law on accessible air travel.

The proposal also called for airlines to provide annual training for employees who handle wheelchairs or lift passengers with disabilities.

The Transportation Department said 11,527 of the devices were mishandled by airlines last year, up from 10,337 in 2022.

The Biden administration planned to announce the proposal during a White House event that will include advocates for people with disabilities.

There will be a 60-day period for public comment on the proposed rule. It’s not clear, however, when or if the proposal will ever become final. Buttigieg declined to provide a timetable when he briefed reporters.

Under the proposal, it would be easier for the Transportation Department to fine airlines up to roughly $125,000 if they damage a wheelchair or delay its return to the passenger at the end of a flight.

The proposal would give passengers the right to use their preferred vendor to repair or replace a damaged wheelchair, since airlines are already required to cover the cost.

Buttigieg called the proposal the biggest expansion of rights for passengers who use a wheelchair since 2008.

He said airlines, which are far too often sidetracked by things like preventing acts of terrorism or mechanical failures in the high-stress environment— needed stronger financial incentives to treat disabled passengers with dignity.

The large number of damaged wheelchairs “reflects a culture where this is just treated as part of doing business,” he said. “There is going to be this risk that if something happens to your chair, and that’s too bad.”

The Muscular Dystrophy Association, one of several disability-rights groups pushing for better treatment of disabled passengers, praised the proposal.

Paul Melmeyer, the group’s vice president of public policy, highlighted provisions on training for airline workers, higher standards for on-board wheelchairs that passengers use to get to the lavatory, and placing the passenger’s personal wheelchair as close as possible to the aircraft door when they exit.

Melmeyer also endorsed the prospect of big fines for mishandling wheelchairs.

“We work with the airlines. They are not trying to damage wheelchairs, but we do need them to be more motivated to damage or mishandle fewer wheelchairs used by our community,” he said. “If higher fines or more frequent use of fines by the Department of Transportation will accomplish that goal, then we’re going to be supportive of that.”

Buttigieg conceded that the proposal will fall short of the ultimate goal of disability advocates—letting disabled passengers stay in their own wheelchair during flights, which would require modifications to aircraft cabins.

“The reality is that is going to take years,” he said.

Blue Localities Undertake New Fraud Scheme: Underage Voting

(Headline USA) A Vermont town is giving 16- and 17-year-olds the right to vote next week in local elections as Democrat-run cities test out new strategies to add to their fast-waning electorate ahead of the 2024 election.

The teens benefiting from the new policy seemed to have few qualms with it, reassuring skeptics that they were well-informed and capable of making wise decisions.

Silas Brubaker, a 17-year-old senior at Brattleboro Union High School, said he was qualified “because I know what’s going on in the world.” However, he planned to do research before making his selections on Tuesday in local races.

“I’m not too young or too naïve to know what’s happening and to know what I want to be happening,” Brubaker said.

“And when those things conflict, it feels very unfair and wrong for me not to be able to do anything in an official sense,” he complained. “Like, I can go to protests, I can speak my mind, but I can’t do anything in a legal sense and now I can, so that’s exciting.”

The move comes as President Joe Biden loses considerable ground to existing Gen-Z voters—whose approval of former President Donald Trump has roughly doubled since the last election—as well as other crucial demographics, including black and Hispanic voters.

Theoretically, the non-adults would only be able to vote in local elections for the town of Brattleboro, population 7,500. Yet, given the prevalence of mail-in voting, which the Left has staunchly supported, it could muddy the waters if teens were to complete the entire ballot and later claim confusion if detected.

Adding to the chaos, the town’s ordinance also allows those who will turn 18 by the November general election to vote in the state’s presidential primaries on Super Tuesday.

The change to the town’s charter required legislative approval, and Republican Gov. Phil Scott twice rejected the measures.

Last year, however, the Democrat-controlled state legislature overrode the governor’s veto, giving more Brattleboro teenagers the green light to vote, to run for Brattleboro’s primary governing body, and to be chosen as representatives to an annual town meeting where many local issues are decided.

Lawmakers stopped short of giving 16- and 17-year-olds the ability to serve on the local school board, which was originally part of the measure town residents approved back in 2019.

Battlebro is not the only blue-run city piloting the latest scheme. In Michigan, once considered a leading tossup state that was key to former President Donald Trump’s 2016 victory, far-left Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson helped shore up their own political “security” by passing a raft of new laws under the pretense of safeguarding elections. Among their new “safety” measures was one to register underage voters.

Some communities in Maryland have already lowered the voting age to 16 for municipal elections. The city council in Newark, New Jersey, approved a measure in January to allow that age group to vote in school board races. Two cities in California lowered the voting age to 16 for school board seats, but those changes have not gone into effect.

Battleboro’s effort to lower the voting age started years ago. Rio Daims worked on the youth vote campaign in 2018, when she was 16. Now she’s a 22-year-old college student studying political communication.

“It’s exciting, but I also just really, really hope that there are other excited teenagers who are making the moves to get the word around,” she said, “because unless they’re told, they’re not going to assume this is a possibility.”

Daims’s father, Kurt Daims, director of Brattleboro Common Sense, was director of the youth voting campaign starting in 2013 but said he didn’t feel “it’s a full victory” because young voters were excluded from serving on the school board.

Senior Django Grace, who helped organize a voter drive at the high school, said turnout dropped during the pandemic and civic engagement has plummeted. Bringing younger voters into the process can only help.

“Giving us the vote allows us to apply whatever we’re learning in class,” said Grace, who just turned 18 and is running to be a town meeting representative. ”It makes it relevant.”

For some, however, that may be precisely the problem. As parents push back nationwide against indoctrination efforts in classrooms, where leftists disproportionately fill the faculty ranks due the the Marxism-inspired educational policies, some fear that students lacking any actual real-world experience or sense of personal accountability will be particularly pliable to pandering and false promises from bad actors seeking to exploit their idealism.

To date, at least 37 teens have registered, according to the town clerk’s office. Many signed up during the voter drive at the school on Feb. 14, which senior Eva Gould also helped pull together.

“This is the future, and these are the people who are going to be voting in our elections and are going to be running in our elections as well,” Gould said. “They know a lot more than a lot of people do, honestly.”

Ga. Victim Laken Riley Blamed for Fighting Back against Killer

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A media outlet has suggested that Laken Riley, a Georgia nursing student, may have caused her demise by resisting her alleged attacker, an illegal alien from Venezuela.

On Thursday, WSB-TV Atlanta published a report citing a source to shed light on what might have ignited 26-year-old Jose Antonio Ibarra to reportedly murder the beloved 22-year-old woman as she jogged along a trail in Athens, Georgia.

Former Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent John Lang Jr., examining warrant records, assessed that Riley’s forceful response to the attack could have scared the accused assailant.

“In this case, the offender was met with resistance which he wasn’t expecting, and it got overpowering and he couldn’t control it and he restored to violence,” Lang stated.

WSB-TV reported that the illegal alien stands at 5’7″ and weighs 185 pounds, while Riley’s height and weight are not immediately clear. Lang suggested that she likely pushed back against the attacker.

“But he didn’t know what he was in for and I suspect she probably fought back,” Lang added. “He’s not a very big fellow and he may have been overwhelmed by her size and her strengths and tenacity to fight back.”

Local law enforcement officials alleged that Riley attempted to make a 911 call but was prevented from doing so by the illegal alien. The man purportedly dragged her body to a different location, according to WSB-TV.

“Concealing her body, that’s just an opportunity to distance himself from the crime,” Lang said, Lang said, hinting that Ibarra may be a “disorganized” offender who acts on the spur of the moment.

Ibarra, currently in Georgia’s custody, now facing charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, kidnapping, hindering a 911 call and concealing the death of another.

Police stated that the attack seemed random, with no apparent connection between Riley and the accused individual.

Ibarra entered the country illegally in September 2022 and was subsequently paroled by the Biden administration. A year later, he was arrested by the NYPD for “acting in a manner to injure a child.” Following his release, he relocated to Georgia, where he ultimately murdered Riley, according to police.

Riley’s murder has ignited widespread concern about illegal immigration and has triggered a shift in political rhetoric regarding Venezuelan illegal aliens, Temporary Status Protections and sanctuary cities.

Athens Mayor Kelly Girtz came under fire during a Wednesday press conference, with residents scolding him as a “liar” and having “blood” on his hands over the city’s pro-immigrant policies.

Following Riley’s murder, the Biden White Houe urged sanctuary cities to collaborate with federal immigration authorities for the removal of arrested illegal aliens. Additionally, New York City Mayor Eric Adams has flirted with the idea of amending the city’s sanctuary status to remove illegal aliens.

New York Lawmakers Weigh $500M Fund for Unemployed Illegals

() New York lawmakers are considering a Democratic proposal that would create a new multibillion-dollar fund to provide unemployment benefits for illegal immigrants.

The proposal, which is currently before the state’s Senate Finance Committee, would create a $500 million trust fund to pay jobless benefits for workers ineligible for traditional unemployment payments and other public benefits.

It comes despite growing outrage from New York residents over Biden administration’s open-border policies and their impact on New York City in particular.

Mayor Eric Adams, once an outspoken critic of the border crisis, has become mysteriously mum—even supportive of the ongoing immigration—since the Biden Justice Department announced that it was investigating him for illicit campaign funds.

The amount of the immigrant fund, coincidentally, tracks closely with what the state hopes to force former President Donald Trump to pay following a series of adverse verdicts in lawfare attacks waged by leftist political operatives including state Attorney General Letitia James.

However, the backers of the plan claimed that it would be funded through a proposed a new tax on Google, Amazon and other “big tech” companies that would charge them a fee for digital advertising.

The so-called Unemployment Bridge Program proposal was being championed by state Sen. Jessica Ramos, a Queens Democrat who chairs the powerful Labor Committee. She claimed that newly arrived illegals, while awaiting the disposition of their dubious asylum claims, were authorized to work, pay taxes and contribute to the state’s economy but couldn’t get unemployment benefits if they were let go by their employer.

“The federal government has let unemployment insurance for freelancers expire. The Excluded Workers Fund has long since run out,” Ramos posted on social media. “We need a safety net that reflects the reality of our labor market.”

Some illegals, such as Venezuelan TikTok user Leonal Moreno, have brazenly acknowledged that they did not come either to work or seek asylum, but rather to collect the overly generous welfare benefits that blue-run “sanctuary states” are using to incentivize their arrival.

@leitooficial_25♬ sonido original – Leitooficial

The proposed New York fund would be available to “domestic workers, landscaping and groundskeeping workers, day laborers and domestic construction workers who are paid off the hooks; street vendors, freelancers, self-employed workers: and workers recently released from incarceration or immigrant detention who cannot use their prison or detention labor to qualify for unemployment benefits,” according to a summary of the bill.

“The new fund establishes in-depth requirements and procedures making it possible for members of these communities to apply and receive benefits for their ongoing unemployment,” it claimed.

New York policymakers have wrangled for years over jobless benefits for illegals, nontraditional workers and others who don’t qualify for state unemployment benefits.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, New York lawmakers approved a $2.1 billion Excluded Workers Fund to provide support for jobless workers who were excluded from unemployment benefits, including undocumented adults and those with “gig” economy jobs. But money from that fund has dried up, lawmakers said.

Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul’s $233 billion fiscal year 2025 budget calls for committing $2.4 billion to help tens of thousands of asylum seekers, including $500 million from the state’s reserves, or ‘rainy day’ fund.

Roughly $1.1 billion will be earmarked for New York City to house illegals and provide assistance for them to apply for asylum and secure employment. But the Democrat’s spending plan doesn’t include funding for unemployment benefits or the creation of a new fund to help jobless workers who don’t qualify for traditional benefits.

Republicans have criticized plans to offer unemployment benefits to people living in the U.S. illegally and argue that the funds should only be available to New York taxpayers.

“People who live in New York City who are legal American citizens and legal residents of New York, who pay some of the most exorbitant taxes in the country—maybe even in the world if you live in the city of New York—they should be the priority,” Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt said in a recent statement.

Snowflake Scientist Forces Censorship of Unflattering Research Paper

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) An over-sensitive university professor reportedly forced the cancellation of a controversial scientific paper after researchers from Canada’s Mount Royal University suggested that college undergraduates might not be as intellectually gifted as they thought, RealClearScience reported.

The journal Frontiers in Psychology had accepted the paper, titled “Meta-analysis: On average, undergraduate students’ intelligence is merely average,” and had announced plans in January to publish the final and formatted version.

The study argued that because of a massive increase in access to college “education” over  the past 80 years, the average IQ of college undergraduates had dropped from around 120 to 102.

The decline in students’ IQ was “a necessary consequence of increasing educational attainment,” the researchers concluded. “Today, graduating from university is more common than completing high school in the 1940s.”

They also noted that teachers—whose ranks had likely dumbed down with the rest of the population, creating a vicious cycle of stupidity—“need to realize that students are no longer extraordinary but merely average.”

The declining cognitive abilities of college graduates also affected employers, who “can no longer rely on applicants with university degrees to be more capable or smarter than those without degrees,” the researchers added.

Ultimately, they argued that the long-held perception of colleges as a breeding ground for intellectualism “needs to be dispelled.”

After word of the research went viral on social media and in the mainstream media, garnering some 54,000 views, researchers were notified that their paper was no longer acceptable for publication.

Specialty Chief Editor Eddy Davelaar, a psychology professor at the University of London, reportedly overrode other peer-reviewers to censor the scientists.

Specifically, Davelaar complained about the tone of the writing, which he called “demeaning,” while reprimanding researchers for not being more sensitive in their presentation.

The journal removed the link.

Bob Uttl, Victoria Violo and Lacey Gibson—the three authors of the report—said that they wished they could get an honest explanation for why their research was so suddenly rejected.

“I think an editor or whoever owes it to us to tell us what the issues are, allows us to respond, before rejection,” Uttl noted in an email to RealClearScience.
