Biden Signs TikTok ‘Ban,’ Paving Way for Sweeping Online Censorship

(Headline USA) In a move likely to stun millions of American users, the Senate followed through on a controversial ban of the China-run TikTok app.

The move had many conservatives split over concerns for national security in the face of all but certain espionage on one hand—not to mention the cultural rot that the platform fostered—while also presenting chilling implications, on the other hand, for government targeting of platforms such as Twitter or Truth Social.

Defenders of the TikTok ban say it won’t necessarily result in an immediate deplatforming. The measure gives TikTok’s Beijing-based parent company, ByteDance, nine months to sell the company, with a possible additional three months if a sale is in progress. If it doesn’t, TikTok will be banned.

Thus, it would be at least a year before a ban goes into effect—but with likely court challenges, this could stretch even longer, perhaps years.

“Rest assured, we aren’t going anywhere,” CEO Shou Zi Chew said in a video posted moments after President Joe Biden signed the bill on Wednesday.

TikTok has seen some success with court challenges in the past, but it has never sought to prevent federal legislation from going into effect.

Lawmakers from both parties—as well as law enforcement and intelligence officials—have long expressed concerns that Chinese authorities could force ByteDance to hand over data on the 170 million Americans who use TikTok.

The worry stems from a set of Chinese national security laws that compel organizations to assist with intelligence gathering—which ByteDance would likely be subject to—and other far-reaching ways the country’s authoritarian government exercises control.

Data privacy experts say, though, that the Chinese government could easily get information on Americans in other ways, including through commercial data brokers that sell or rent personal information.

Lawmakers and some administration officials have also expressed concerns that China may potentially direct or influence ByteDance to suppress or boost TikTok content that are favorable to its interests.

That includes promoting videos of negative content—such as transgenderism and LGBT issues—which have seen a staggering uptick among young people in America since the video-sharing platform took hold among U.S. teens and sowed in many the concept of gender dysphoria.

In China, by contrast, TikTok is used as more of an educational platform that has severe limits on entertainment content and promotes strongly postitive cultural values.

The platform also is being used in America to promote things such as illegal immigration and squatting, with criminals instructing others on how to get away with the activity. Some fear it may be an easy conduit to encourage illegal voting during the November illection.

TikTok, for its part, has denied assertions that it could be used as a tool of the Chinese government. The company has also said it has never shared U.S. user data with Chinese authorities and won’t do so if it’s asked.

Despite the compelling reasons for banning the platform, some have raised concerns that the House bill, as written, might open the door for the Biden administration to continue its ongoing effort at persecuting and, ultimately, silencing its political enemies.

After lobbying from conservative donor Jeff Yass, an investor in ByteDance, former President Donald Trump recently changed his position from supporting the ban to opposing it.

some have raised the alarm that the bill could empower the president or some other government entity to force the sale of other social-media platforms, simply by declaring them, arbitrarily and capriciously, to be a national security threat.

They worry the language in the bill did not carve out a sufficient exception for the reasons that TikTok was the exception to what should otherwise fall under the umbrella of First Amendment protections.

In particular, the Biden administration might use it to target Elon Musk over Twitter, or Trump himself over Truth Social. Leftists already have laid the foundation for attacks on both.

Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, with the promise of restoring free speech to it, left many on the Left—and in the deep state—chafing. Propaganda groups such as Media Matters have since claimed that Musk allows hate speech to flourish on Twitter and earlier encouraged advertisers to boycott the platform as a result.

As for Trump, the recent claims by former national security adviser Susan Rice accusing him of being a threat to national security may shed light on what may ultimately be the seed of a future Biden/Obama talking point, bearing close ressemblance to the Russia-collusion hoax that they previously devised to weaponize against him.

TikTok, which is used by more than 170 million Americans, most likely won’t disappear from phones even if an eventual ban does take effect. But it would disappear from Apple and Google’s app stores, which means users won’t be able to download it. This would also mean that TikTok wouldn’t be able to send updates, security patches and bug fixes, and over time the app would likely become unusable—not to mention a security risk.

Teenagers are known for circumventing parental controls and bans when it comes to social media, so dodging the U.S. government’s ban is certainly not outside the realm of possibilities.

For instance, users could try to mask their location using a VPN, or virtual private network, use alternative app stores or even install a foreign SIM card into their phone.

But some tech savvy is required, and it’s not clear what will and won’t work.

More likely, users will migrate to another platform—such as Instagram, which has a TikTok-like feature called Reels, or YouTube, which has incorporated vertical short videos in its feed to try to compete with TikTok.

Trump warned as much when he came out opposing the ban, saying that it would ultimately benefit the the Mark Zuckerberg-owned Instagram.

Alphabet, the parent company of YouTube, is equally left-leaning and known for meddling in U.S. elections to benefit Democrats.

Often, such videos are taken directly from TikTok itself. And popular creators are likely to be found on other platforms as well, so users would probably be able to see the same stuff.

“The TikTok bill relies heavily on the control that Apple and Google maintain over their smartphone platforms because the bill’s primary mechanism is to direct Apple and Google to stop allowing the TikTok app on their respective app stores,” said Dean Ball, a research fellow with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University.

“Such a mechanism might be much less effective in the world envisioned by many advocates of antitrust and aggressive regulation against the large tech firms,” he added.

Demystifying Inflation: Money Metals’ Midweek Memo w/ Mike Maharrey

(Money Metals News Service) In the latest episode of the Money Metals’ Midweek Memo, host Mike Maharrey delved deep into the intricate realm of inflation, offering invaluable insights and debunking prevalent misconceptions.

With escalating concerns about inflation permeating the investment landscape, Maharrey’s elucidation provided much-needed clarity on this pivotal economic force and its implications for investors.

Inflation, a phenomenon with far-reaching consequences, has emerged as a central theme driving market dynamics and shaping Federal Reserve policy decisions. However, as Maharrey astutely pointed out, misunderstandings about inflation abound, underscoring the necessity for a precise definition and a comprehensive understanding of its causes and ramifications.

Maharrey shared a quote from economist Ludwig von Mises, stating: “Inflation is the true opium of the people.”

Recent market trends have underscored growing apprehensions about inflation, prompting investors to seek refuge in traditional safe-haven assets like gold. Citing a CNBC report, Maharrey highlighted that a staggering 83% of the largest money managers have turned bullish on precious metals, reflecting the heightened demand for inflation-resistant assets.

Gold, in particular, has witnessed a notable surge in portfolio allocations over the past month, indicating its status as a favored commodity among fund allocators. James Steel, HSBC’s chief precious metals analyst, emphasized the role of Safe Haven demand and institutional fund purchases in propelling gold and silver rallies.

Throughout the episode, Maharrey dispelled common misconceptions surrounding inflation, asserting that much of the mainstream discourse on the topic is either incorrect or misleading.

Quoting economist Milton Friedman’s famous dictum, Maharrey emphasized that “inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon,” shedding light on the fundamental relationship between monetary expansion and rising prices.

Maharrey went even further by providing a more in-depth quote on ‘inflation’ from economist Ludwig von Mises:

“Inflation, as this term was always used everywhere and especially in this country, means increasing the quantity of money and bank notes in circulation and the quantity of bank deposits subject to check. But people today use the term `inflation’ to refer to the phenomenon that is an inevitable consequence of inflation, that is the tendency of all prices and wage rates to rise. The result of this deplorable confusion is that there is no term left to signify the cause of this rise in prices and wages. There is no longer any word available to signify the phenomenon that has been, up to now, called inflation. . . . As you cannot talk about something that has no name, you cannot fight it. Those who pretend to fight inflation are in fact only fighting what is the inevitable consequence of inflation, rising prices. Their ventures are doomed to failure because they do not attack the root of the evil. They try to keep prices low while firmly committed to a policy of increasing the quantity of money that must necessarily make them soar. As long as this terminological confusion is not entirely wiped out, there cannot be any question of stopping inflation.”

Moreover, Maharrey elucidated the symbiotic relationship between inflation and government spending, noting that the federal government relies on inflation to sustain its fiscal policies.

As Maharrey succinctly put it, “When you print a whole bunch of money and throw a whole bunch of money into the economy… you’re going to have a general rise in prices across the board.”

In conclusion, Maharrey underscored the importance of understanding the intricacies of inflation and its underlying mechanisms for investors navigating today’s economic climate. By discerning the impact of monetary policies and government interventions on inflationary pressures, individuals can make informed investment decisions, including allocating assets to precious metals as a hedge against inflationary risks.

In essence, the Money Metals’ Midweek Memo episode served as a beacon of clarity in a landscape clouded by uncertainty, empowering investors with the knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of inflation and its implications.

Mike Maharrey encourages people to start investing in gold and silver through Money Metals Exchange as a way to build a personal store of value and to hedge against inflation.

Unsealed Docs Reveal Alleged Scheme to Compromise Lawyer in Trump Case

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The judge presiding over Donald Trump’s classified information case in Florida has unsealed a slew of court records in that matter—revealing details of an alleged plot to bribe defense attorney Stanley Woodward, who is representing Trump’s co-defendant, Walt Nauta.

U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon’s order to unseal court records revealed a June 7, 2023, letter from Woodward and Nauta to U.S. Judge James Boasberg. The letter came the day before the indictment against Trump was unsealed in the classified info case. The letter was reported on by mainstream media at the time, but wasn’t published until this week.

In the letter, Woodward and Nauta warned Boasberg that Special Counsel Jack Smith attempted to bribe Woodward last August when the Justice Department was building its case against the former President.

According to that letter, DOJ attorney Jay Bratt tried to bribe Woodward to convince his client to become a cooperating witness against Trump. This occurred during an Aug. 24, 2022, meeting, the letter said.

“Specifically, Mr. Bratt remarked that he was aware of the fact that Mr. Woodward had been recommended for a Presidential nomination to the Superior Court of the District of Columbia,” Woodward wrote in the letter.

“The only rational inference to be drawn from this reference … is that somehow Mr. Woodward’s potential nomination to the Superior Court would be implicated by Mr. Nauta’s decision not to ‘cooperate’ in government’s investigation. Indeed … Mr. Bratt concluded his observations with words to the effect of, ‘I wouldn’t want you to do anything to mess that up’—referring to Mr. Woodward’s potential nomination.”

The unsealing of the letter comes as Nauta still has at least one pending motion to dismiss the DOJ’s charges against him.

The DOJ has disagreed with Woodward’s characterization of the Aug. 24, 2022, meeting. However, Special Counsel Jack Smith did refer the matter to the DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility—though observers scoffed at the idea that the DOJ would properly investigate the allegations.

The alleged attempt to bribe Woodward has also drew the ire of the House Judiciary Committee, which sent Jack Smith a letter about the matter last September.

Jordan asked Smith to provide him with all documents and communications referring or relating to any appointment, meeting, or other visit by Woodward to the Justice Department, as well as any other communications referencing Woodward.

Smith had until Sept. 21 to answer Jordan, but it’s not clear if the Special Counsel provided any information.

Fetterman Endorses Mitt Romney As Harvard’s Next President

(Headline USA) Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., said this week that he’d support his colleague, outgoing Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, taking over as Harvard University’s next president.

The position is currently being held by interim President Alan Garber, who took over after Claudine Gay was forced to step down following multiple allegations of plagiarism and her failure to adequate condemn antisemitism on campus.

However, a new Washington Post op-ed by Harvard alumnus Daniel Rosen suggested a better, more permanent replacement for Gay would be Romney, who is also a Harvard graduate.

Fetterman, also a Harvard alumnus, seconded the idea, arguing the school needs to be brought back to the center.

“This former Governor of Massachusetts doesn’t need a paycheck, but Harvard and its academic peers needs to recalibrate from far-left orthodoxy,” Fetterman tweeted, citing the rise of anti-Semitism at Harvard and othe prominent schools, such as Columbia University.

Rosen, who described himself as a “lifelong Democrat,” argued similarly.

“I make this suggestion in the sincere and robust hope that he is someone who can navigate the university through painful but necessary reform and drive back the antisemitism that is tarnishing the institution’s credibility,” Rosen wrote.

“As the grandson of Holocaust survivors and president of the American Jewish Congress, I find it devastating that Harvard has failed to vigorously address the unchecked antisemitism on campus,” he continued.

Rosen went on to praise Romney as a “profile in courage in the Senate,” arguing his “unique bridge-building character is precisely what Harvard needs in an age of toxic polarization.”

Fetterman has been vocally outspoken against the Democratic Party’s far-left flank in recent months, especially in the wake of Hamas’s Oct. 7 attack on Israel. Last month, he made it clear that he is not “woke,” despite running as a progressive just a couple of years ago.

Romney, who has faced the disdain of many fellow Republicans after twice voting to impeach then-President Donald Trump—the only GOP senator to do so—opted to retire rather than run for a second term. However, the failed 2012 GOP presidential candidate has a distinguished track record in the executive sector as the former head of Bain Capital and overseeing the Salt Lake City Olympics in 2002.

Romney would be the second RINO in recent years to flee the Senate for a prestigious university position. Former Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse retired last year to become president of the University of Florida.

Illegals Shipped to Martha’s Vineyard Granted ‘Victim of Crime’ Visas

(Headline USA) Several illegal immigrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis were granted “victim of crime” visas this week, allowing them to remain and work in the U.S.—just not in the exclusive leftist vacation enclave, from which they were promptly removed upon arrival.

The migrants applied for the special type of visa, known as a U-visa, last year after arriving in the ritzy Massachusetts town, alleging they were duped into boarding the charter flight with the false promise of jobs and housing. At least 49 of the migrants on the flight have since been granted U-visas, according to local outlet GBH.

According to their attorney, Rachel Self, the visa means they can now apply for jobs legally and that they can’t be deported while they wait for the visa to come through. The U-visa often leads to permanent lawful status in the U.S., as well, she said.

“It’s what we have known from day one,” Self claimed. “Anyone who has looked at what happened to these individuals, anyone that has seen the evidence in this case cannot ignore the criminality of the actors.”

Adriana Lafaille, managing attorney at the American Civil Liberties Union, suggested the same strategy could be used by the tens of thousands of other illegal immigrants who have been shipped out of border states and into Democratic sanctuary states.

“It’s really important that these U-visa certifications were issued because they send a message that no one is free to victimize people just because they’re at their most vulnerable,” said Lafaille. “Newly arrived immigrants have the protections of the law.”

The spurious rationale ignores the fact that many of the illegals come to the U.S. in the first place due to the false claims of left-wing non-governmental activist groups operating in Central America that promise them freebies—and oftentimes deliver, courtesy of Democrat policies.

DeSantis has defended the migrant flight to Martha’s Vineyard, arguing that the illegals who boarded the flight did so “voluntarily.”

The flight to Martha’s Vineyard simply gave illegals “an opportunity to seek greener pastures in a sanctuary jurisdiction that offered greater resources for them, as we expected,” a spokesperson for DeSantis’s office said last year.

“Immigrants have been more than willing to leave Bexar County after being abandoned, homeless, and ‘left to fend for themselves’” by the Biden administration, the spokesperson added.

Alec Baldwin Slaps Phone of Protester Who Brought Up ‘Rust’ Shooting

(Headline USA) Disgraced actor Alec Baldwin was caught on a viral video smacking the phone of an anti-Israel activist who confronted him in public and brought up the Rust shooting that resulted in multiple criminal felony charges against him after an accidental on-set death.

The protester’s main complaint against Baldwin apparently had to do with the left-wing actor’s support for Israel. It comes as activists—many of whom may be funded by foreign nationals and oligarchs to sow civil discord—have shut down college campuses including Columbia University and promoted intimidation of Jewish students.

Video footage taken by the activist shows Baldwin inside a New York City coffee shop waiting by the cash register while the activist repeatedly demands that Baldwin say, “Free Palestine” and “F*** Israel.”

Baldwin, who was on the phone, ignored the protester and asked an employee at the coffee shop to call the police.

“Alec, can you please say ‘Free Palestine’ one time,” the protester continued. “‘Free Palestine,’ Alec, just one time and I’ll leave you alone. I’ll leave you alone, I swear.”

Baldwin then shook his head and walked toward the door, motioning for the protester to get out.

“Just say ‘Free Palestine’ one time, one time,” the protester repeated. “‘F*** Israel,’ ‘F*** Zionism.’”

When Baldwin still refused to respond, the protester brought up the criminal charges the actor is facing for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of Rust.

“Why did you kill that lady, you killed that lady and got no jail time,” the agitator said, calling Baldwin a “criminal.”

Visibly agitated, Baldwin smacked the phone out of the protester’s hand.

Baldwin was indicted by a grand jury for his role in the Rust shooting and has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.

This is not the first time anti-Israel activists have targeted Baldwin. In December, he had another angry confrontation with protesters, who asked if he condemned Israel. Baldwin replied, “No, I support peace for Gaza,” irritating the crowd.

“Go f*** yourself,” a protester yelled back at him.

Baldwin responded by telling them to “shut the f*** up” before being escorted away by New York police officers.

FBI Director Forecasts Major Terror Attack, Lies about Monitoring Protests

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) In a wide-ranging interview with NBC published Tuesday, FBI Director Chris Wray forecasted a terrorist event in America similar to ISIS-K’s alleged attack on Russia last month, when members of the Islamic group killed nearly 140 people at a concert hall in the suburbs of Moscow.

“We are increasingly concerned [about] the potential for some kind of coordinated attack here in the homeland, which may be not that different from what you saw against the concert hall in Russia a few weeks ago from ISIS-K,” Wray told NBC’s Lester Holt.

Wray didn’t mention that Russia has accused the U.S. of being behind the ISIS-K attack. While such an accusation may seem absurd to some, recent investigative journalism has shown that ISIS-K is led by a NATO contractor.

Moreover, Facebook now seems to be censoring reporting about ISIS’s conneciotns to the U.S. security state. The Grayzone said last week that Facebook users have reported being banned, or having their posts censored, after sharing an investigation by The Grayzone’s Kit Klarenberg into CIA and MI6 involvement in the creation of ISIS.

In any event, Wray also told NBC he’s worried that China, Russia and Iran may seek to interfere in the upcoming election, and that all three countries continue to conduct cyber operations against the U.S. Such operations “would allow them to induce panic or break America’s will to resist in something like, let’s say, an effort by the Chinese government to move on Taiwan,” he said.

Along with scaremongering, Wray spread lies on NBC about the FBI’s activities. Perhaps his biggest doozy was insisting that the FBI doesn’t monitor protests.

Wray’s comments were roundly mocked online from both conservatives and leftists. The latter pointed to numerous Black Lives Matter protests the FBI has monitored, while conservatives referenced Jan. 6 and other recent events.

As Headline USA reported in January, the FBI doesn’t even have to acknowledge how it monitors protests in court. A federal judge ruled then that  the FBI can keep secret its aerial surveillance footage it took of the August 2020 riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin—where Kyle Rittenhouse shot three protestors who had attacked him, killing two of them.

“Disclosure of the FBI surveillance-program practices, moreover, would be reasonably expected to risk circumvention of the law. Criminal and national-security adversaries could use the non-public information to adjust their behaviors and avoid aerial surveillance,” U.S. District Judge James Boasberg said in January.

Mayor Adams Heckled During Flight: ‘F**k You—You’re Always Partying!’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) New York City Mayor Eric Adams faced the fury of a left-wing heckler as he sat on an airplane departing from Miami, Florida, heading to the city.

According to the New York Daily News, Adams was in Miami on Sunday for the 2024 Concordia Americas Summit, a conference of business leaders and elected officials from North America and Latin America.

In a viral video shared on Twitter, a woman proceeded to ask, “Are you Eric Adams?”

Seemingly unaware of what was to come, Adams innocently smirked at the woman before she shouted, “Yeah, f**k you. You supported the genocide in Palestine. There are homeless people all over New York.”

While the mayor did not respond to the woman’s curse-laden lecture, his expression visibly shifted.

A man seemingly accompanying Adams stood up, attempting to block the woman from recording the mayor.

To this, she replied, “But you’re always partying. You don’t actually care about the citizens of New York. Why are you even in Miami? You know there are people being arrested. There are homeless.”

She continued, “People cannot afford food. You keep cutting the education budget so you can fund the police. That’s all you care about — funding the police. Everything is underfunded because of you.”

Passengers frustrated by the loud scolding pleaded with the woman to keep moving as her disturbance could have delayed the flight.

The mayor returned to New York City by Tuesday, the New York Daily News reported.

Adams’s spokesperson Fabien Levy did not mince words in response to the heckling. “Like the mayor always says, 8 million people, but 35 million opinions,” he stated in a press statement.

“It’s unfortunate, however, that this individual’s opinion was riddled with vulgarities on a public flight and that’s why multiple passengers can be heard pushing back on her as she annoyingly held them up,” Levy added.

‘Pissed Off’: Leftist National Archives Fumed over Trump Letters, Hurricane Map

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Newly unsealed documents shed light on what may have prompted the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to launch investigations into the purportedly missing documents of former President Donald Trump from the government’s archives.

As per a report published on Tuesday by the New York Post, the document “most often asked about” by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) was the viral map depicting Hurricane Dorian.

This map was associated with a White House briefing during the Trump administration, wherein someone had manipulated the projected path of the hurricane.

Unsealed by Judge Aileen Cannon, these documents revealed that NARA General Counsel Gary Stern expressed growing frustration over alleged delays in retrieving the records. In a July 2021 phone call, Stern lamented that he and other federal agencies were “pissed off” about the alleged absence of documents.

Tellingly, among these documents included the 2019 map and personal letters exchanged between Trump and North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un, as well as correspondence between Trump and former President Barack Obama.

Merely a month prior, Stern had requested the return of alleged “original correspondence” between Trump and the North Korean leader, along with a letter from Obama to Trump during the latter’s inauguration.

According to the Post, the request also encompassed the turnover of “roughly two dozen boxes of original Presidential records.”

Special Counsel Jack Smith, appointed by Democratic Attorney General Merrick Garland, leads the investigation, alleging that Trump improperly removed documents belonging to the National Archives. Trump defies these claims. Notably, President Joe Biden — then as vice president — withheld classified documents in his home despite lacking authority to do so.

Despite claims from the Democratic Party and other critics of Trump that this case bears national security significance, one document suggests that NARA was primarily focused on the hurricane map rather than classified documents.

“Of the missing documents, the hurricane map was the one most often asked about,” notes documentation purportedly from interviews conducted by FBI agents and federal prosecutors with unnamed officials associated with the White House Office of Records Management (WHORM).

The map gained national attention in September 2019 after Trump suggested that Hurricane Dorian might impact Alabama.

Trump has long lambasted the prosecution, characterizing it as a broad effort to thwart his re-election campaign. Evidence suggests that President Joe Biden wanted for the DOJ to pursue action against Trump.

According to a report from The New York Times in April 2022, Biden “confined to his inner circle that “he believed former President Donald J. Trump was a threat to democracy and should be prosecuted, according to two people familiar with his comments.”

In March 2024, The Times reported that “Biden White House have long expressed private consternation with Mr. Garland’s pace”

CNN Guest Suggests Trump Be Put on House Arrest

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Former Watergate prosecutor Nick Akerman suggested on Apr. 23, 2024, that the judge who is overseeing Donald Trump’s trial should place him under house arrest with an ankle bracelet until he changes his behavior by acting like a “good boy.”

Trump is under a gag order that prohibits him from making statements regarding witnesses, prosecutors other than the district attorney, court staff, their families and prospective jurors, the Daily Caller reported. Prosecutors also said that Trump breached the gag order multiple times.

Judge Juan Merchan held a hearing on Apr. 23, 2024, to determine if Trump has violated the order, with Akerman saying on CNN News Central that Merchan should confine Trump to his house for two weeks, only permitting him to go to and from the trial in a New York courthouse until he ends the alleged breaches.

“If I were the judge, what I would do is I would give him two weeks of home confinement with an ankle bracelet so that he could not go anywhere other than to and from court with the proviso if he’s a good boy in those two weeks and he doesn’t violate the gag order, we can take off the ankle bracelet,” he said.

Akerman then added that this would give Trump “an incentive to clean up his act.”

“That’s what I would do. That would give him an incentive to clean up his act because if he wants to get out there and campaign or do anything besides going to this trial on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, this would be a major incentive for him to clean up his act.”

A court filing revealed that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg recently advocated for Merchan to threaten Trump with 30 days in jail if he breaches the gag order in the future. He also urged Merchan to hold Trump in contempt for previous alleged violations.
