NYC Mayor Eyes Hiring Illegals Because They Are ‘Excellent Swimmers’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) New York City is grappling with a shortage of lifeguards as summer approaches, prompting Mayor Eric Adams to propose a solution: hiring illegal aliens because they are “excellent swimmers.”

Adams unveiled this proposal during a press conference on Tuesday in response to an inquiry about the shortfall in lifeguard staffing ahead of Memorial Day, which marks the start of the season for public pools and beaches.

In response, Adams presented a hypothetical scenario. “Let me just take your imagination for a moment,” he told a reporter. “If we had a migrant and asylum seeker plan that states those jobs that we are in high demand, we could expedite.”

He then posed a rhetorical question: “How do we have a large body of people that are in our city and country that are excellent swimmers, and at the same time we need lifeguards?”

Adams did not cite evidence to support his assertion that illegal immigrants are “excellent swimmers.” Despite this, he expressed frustration over the lack of amnesty preventing them from legally seeking employment in the United States.

Reiterating his proposed solution to address the lifeguard shortage, Adams continued, “We have all these eligible people waiting to work with the skills we need to fill the jobs, but we’re unable to allow them to work because bureaucracy is in the way. That just does not make sense.”

Many on Twitter mentioned that an underlying reason prompting Adams to consider hiring illegals as lifeguards could stem from the misconception that some may have crossed bodies of water to enter the U.S. illegally.

Yet, these assumptions have a troubling history of perpetuating derogatory stereotypes against Hispanic Americans—an issue frequently and ironically denounced by Democrats.

In the 1950s, then-President Dwight D. Eisenhower initiated a large-scale operation aimed at deporting illegal aliens who had crossed the Rio Grande into the United States.

This deportation campaign, known as “Operation Wetback,” derived its name from the term “wetback,” (or “mojados” in Spanish) a derogatory label used at the time to refer to individuals who either swam or waded across the river to enter the U.S. illegally.

The term “wetback” is now recognized as derogatory in English.

Biden Poaches Trump’s Trade Policy w/ New Tariffs on Chinese Imports

(Matthew Doarnberger, Headline USA) President Joe Biden has unveiled plans to significantly increase tariffs on several imported products from China, according to USA Today.

The items that the Biden administration has targeted for these tariffs include electric vehicles, batteries, semiconductors, steel, aluminum, critical minerals, solar cells, ship-to-shore cranes and medical products.

In total, $18 billion in Chinese imports are set to be affected, CNN reported.

In defense of these measures—which appeared to hearken back to the policies of the Trump administration—Biden accused China of unfair trade practices that enabled them to flood the market with inexpensive products due to government subsidies.

“When you make tactics like these, it’s not competition, it’s cheating,” he said.

“And we’ve seen damage here in America,” he continued. “American workers can out-work and out-compete anyone as long as the competition is fair, but for too long it hasn’t been fair. We’re not going to let China flood our market.”

The administration’s policy toward China seeks to maintain the tariffs that former president Donald Trump enacted, which applied to $300 billion of Chinese imports during his four years in office.

When asked for comment about the Biden plan, Trump slammed his Democrat rival for waiting until now to apply the tariffs rather than enacting them at the beginning of his term.

“China is eating our lunch right now,” said the former president and presumptive GOP nominee—perhaps mocking a 2019 speech in which Biden downplayed concerns over the Asian superpower.

“China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man…  They’re not bad folks, folks … They’re not competition for us,” he said, according to Axios.

Biden attempted to respond by blaming Trump for China’s ascension, saying his predecessor had “been feeding them a long time.”

China’s foreign ministry reacted to the tariff increases with disappointment and stated the CCP would enact strong opposition to the measure.

“China opposes the unilateral imposition of tariffs which violate World Trade Organization rules and will take all necessary actions to protect its legitimate rights,” said spokesperson Wang Wenbin, according to CNN.

The United States Trade Representative’s Office estimated that the implementation of the tariffs would take effect in approximately 90 days.

Stormy Daniels’ Lawyer Says She Wore Bulletproof Vest to Testimony

(Headline USA) A lawyer for porn star Stormy Daniels said she wore a bulletproof vest to her testimony last week against former President Donald Trump because she was “paralyzed by fear.”

Attorney Clark Brewster claimed Daniels was terrified of what “some nut might do to her” in the lead-up to her appearance in court, where Trump stands accused of falsifying business records over payments made to Daniels and others for nondisclosure agreements prior to the 2016 election.

“She was concerned about the security coming into New York,” Brewster told CNN on Monday. “She wore a bulletproof vest every day until she got to the courthouse.”

Daniels also “cried herself to sleep” the night before taking the stand against Trump, Brewster continued.

Daniels was one of the witnesses called by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who indicted the former president on 34 felony charges despite the alleged crimes having surpassed the statute of limitations.

The allegations are related to the payments Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, made to Daniels and Playboy bunny Karen McDougal, as well as a doorman, for their silence about alleged affairs roughly a decade prior to his first presidential run. He had was newly married to future first lady Melania Trump, his third wife, at the time of the alleged trysts.

Daniels’s testimony had little to do with the charges against Trump but instead focused on the alleged sexual encounter she had with the then-business mogul.

She also admitted at one point that she was “significantly more crazy now than I was before,” according to New York Magazine’s write-up of her testimony.

Bragg’s second key witness in the case was Cohen, who testified Monday and Tuesday.

Like Daniels, Cohen has spent the past few weeks berating the former president on social media, calling Trump a “dictator douche bag” and arguing that Trump “belongs in a cage like a f***ing animal.”

When asked about his social media posts by Trump’s defense team during cross-examination this week, Cohen claimed he has been “having a difficult time sleeping and [he] found an out” in posting about the trial.

NFL Star Blasts Biden, Other Imposters for Supporting Anti-Catholic Policies

(Headline USA) Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker blasted President Joe Biden in his commencement address at Benedictine College this weekend, calling the Democrat “delusional” for claiming to be a member of the Catholic Church while supporting abortion.

“Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally,” he said, referencing a rally against abortion restrictions that Biden attended last month in Florida.

The 81-year-old at one point was seen making the sign of the cross as Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Nikki Fried complained about the state’s six-week ban on abortion.

Biden “has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people, it appears you can both Catholic and pro-choice,” Butker said.

He argued Biden was one of many “bad leaders who don’t stay in their lanes” and have made Americans’ lives worse.

“The bad policies and poor leadership have negatively impacted major life issues. Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for the degenerate cultural values and media all stem from pervasiveness of disorder,” he said.

However, he noted, there were many othere fake Catholics doing the same thing, while appearing to make reference to former COVID czar Anthony Fauci specifically.

“From the man behind the COVID lockdowns, to the people pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America, they all have a glaring thing in common—they are Catholic.”

Butker implored the graduates to understand that “being Catholic alone doesn’t cut it’ and to “stop pretending that the church of nice is a winning proposal.”

He went on to encourage them to speak out against Biden and other leaders pushing harmful policies.

“The world around us says that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion,” Butker added. “We fear speaking truth, because now, unfortunately, truth is in the minority.”

‘Squad’ Rep. Jamaal Bowman Defends Genocidal ‘From the River to the Sea’ Chant

(Headline USA) “Squad” Rep. Jamaal Bowman, D-N.Y., defended a genocidal, anti-Israel slogan this week during a debate against his Democratic primary opponent.

While facing off against primary challenger George Latimer, Bowman was pressed on his support for pro-Hamas activists and criticism of the Israeli government’s military campaign  in the Gaza Strip.

Latimer specifically blasted Bowman for refusing to condemn the anti-Semitic, “From the river to the sea” chant, which is a call for the annihilation of the Jewish state.

“I know some do, others don’t,” Bowman claimed when asked if he believed the phrase was hateful. “I do not.”

Latimer disagreed. The chant refers to the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, which are the eastern and western borders of Israel, respectively, suggesting that the entire region belongs to Palestine.

“I think it is hate speech because I think it’s clear that ‘From the river to the sea’ has meant specifically the eradication of the Jewish population from the land of Israel,” he explained.

Ostensibly, Palestinian activists claim that their ultimate desire is to obtain formal recognition and to coexist as part of a “two state” solution. However, critics note that they have rebuffed all opportunities to establish one for several decades, even under favorable terms.

Latimer also accused Bowman of accepting campaign donations from Hamas supporters.

Bowman has been one of the most vocal anti-Israel critics in Congress.

Shortly after the Oct. 7 massacre, he threw his support behind a resolution calling for a ceasefire that made no mention of Hamas or the return of Israeli hostages.

He also dismissed reports that Hamas terrorists assaulted Israeli women as “propaganda” and a “lie,” though he was later forced to walk back those comments.

During their debate, Latimer not only pointed out Bowman’s radicalism, but also his poor performance in the House.

“He’s an ineffective congressman,” Latimer said at one point.

“Why? Because I raise my voice?” The notorious fire-alarm-puller interjected.

“People here understand passion. They know that we need passion in this moment,” he continued. “You want to go to Washington and play nice with Marjorie Taylor Greene.”

Bowman then bizarrely accused Latimer of calling him an “angry black man,” forcing the moderator to intervene.

“It’s the ‘Southern strategy’ in the North!” Bowman continued, implying that Latimer would attempt to turn Bowman’s constituents against him by subtly fostering racial resentment.

Bowman himself has overtly embraced elements of black supremacy, including his refusal to condemn cop-killing domestic terrorist Assata Shakur.

Biden ‘In Denial’ about Polls Showing Him Behind Trump as Press Sec. Blames COVID

(Headline USA) With presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump beginning to pull farther and farther ahead in recent polls, White House press secretary Karine Jean–Pierre desperately reached for excuses to deflect from the Biden administration’s track record of consistently poor policies and callous disregard for the national mood.

Among the scapegoats were the pandemic that ended three years ago and “Putin’s war,” as well as Republicans thwarting the Biden agenda.

“We know it’s gonna take a little bit of time. We get that,” she claimed, in reference to the inflationary economy that began immediately after President Joe Biden took office.

Biden, meahwhile, was “in denial” about polls showing him trailing behind Trump, according to Axios.

Biden has repeatedly dismissed recent polls in which Trump is ahead as inaccurate, arguing the “data has been wrong all along” and blaming the press for reporting the results.

“While the press doesn’t write about it, the momentum is clearly in our favor, with the polls moving towards us and away from Trump,” Biden said at a campaign event last month.

Several Democrats have urged Biden to take the results more seriously and “change direction,” but the president’s belief that he is doing better than the polls say is “sincere,” the outlet reported.

“We run strongest among likely voters in the polling data,” Biden reportedly told donors in Washington earlier this month. “And while the national polls basically have us [among] registered voters up by four, [among] likely voters we’re up by more.”

The most recent poll from the New York Times/Siena College found Biden losing to Trump in five of six key swing states. In some of these states, such as Nevada, Biden is losing by double digits, the poll found.

“This election will be close like all presidential races are,” Biden campaign spokesperson Kevin Munoz said, when asked about the Times’s findings.

“What matters is which candidate has a popular and winning agenda, and which candidate and their campaign are putting in the work to reach the voters who will decide this election,” he added. “That candidate is Joe Biden.”

Trump, however, is just as confident that he can beat Biden – not just in the swing states, but in traditionally Democratic states as well.

Biden has been “so bad, I think we’re going to win them all. … I’m going to look at Joe Biden and say, ‘You’re fired!’” Trump told a crowd of supporters in New Jersey this weekend.

70% of Banks Target Clients Based on Conservative, Religious Beliefs

() The majority of U.S. banks are targeting clients based on their political and religious beliefs, a new report found.

Banks are doing so partially in response to Biden administration directives, a House Judiciary Committee investigation found through the efforts of its Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government.

The subcommittee is holding its 10th hearing on the “weaponization of the federal government” against Americans on Wednesday after spending years addressing the issue.

At a recent hearing, Jeremy Tedesco, senior counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom, cited examples of the federal government “attempting an end-run around the Constitution by outsourcing censorship to some of the most powerful corporations the world has ever known.”

ADF published its second annual Viewpoint Diversity Score Business Index, which found that nearly half of the largest finance companies “use problematic terms of service” and seven of the 10 largest commercial banks “maintain problematic reputational risk” or “hate speech policies.”

The Index scored 75 leading technology platforms, banks, financial service providers, and media companies on 42 benchmarks related to viewpoint-based cancellations, employee policies related to religious and social beliefs, institutional advocacy efforts related to religious freedom, free speech, and transparency, among others.

ADF identified red flags including companies mandating vendors implement so-called Diversity Equity and Inclusion policies, promoting so-called Critical Race Theory policies, prohibiting employees from creating faith-based Employee Resource Groups and from giving to religious charities; implementing policies “that likely discriminate against religious nonprofits by preventing them from receiving corporate grants or discounts because of what they say or believe,” among others.

Since releasing its 2022 index, ADF says eight companies improved their overall scores: Fidelity National Information Services, M&T Bank, GoDaddy, Citigroup, Silicon Valley Bank, Morgan Stanley, Meta, and Adobe.

It notes that within one year, JP Morgan Chase reversed its “politicized de-banking policies.” Airbnb, Alphabet, Amazon, ebay and Microsoft received the worst scores.

Bank of America has been behind several recent cases also, including one that came to light Monday, just in time for the committee hearing, involving a journalist who had investigated the conspiracy surrounding the FBI’s entrapment of right-wing militia members in a plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

The weaponization subcommittee also has released reports related to the Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network “colluding with” the largest U.S. financial institutions to monitor customers based on their ideological beliefs based on a “discredited and morally bankrupt Southern Poverty Law Center list.”

The SPLC labeled Christian organizations, including ADF, the Family Research Council, Liberty Counsel, Pacific Justice Institute, Ruth Institute, and others, as among “1,225 hate and antigovernment extremist groups.”

Over the years, the subcommittee has released reports on “the weaponization of the federal government,” including the FBI targeting Roman Catholic Americans and parents at school board meetings, the Center Square reported.

The subcommittee’s 10th weaponization hearing on Wednesday will examine the “use of lawfare tactics to weaponize the rule of law.”

The hearings are the first of their kind at a time when federal censorship efforts have escalated.

Under the Biden administration, the Department of Homeland Security announced its plan to create the first “disinformation board” to censor Americans, tapping a director who sang about political opponents “laundering disinformation” to a Disney themed-Mary Poppins melody, the Center Square reported.

DHS has since canceled the creation of the bureau.

The subcommittee held six hearings on the “weaponization of the federal government” in 2023 and three so far this year.

They have addressed:

  • the “politicization” of the FBI and Department of Justice “attack[ing] American civil liberties”
  • federal employees directing social media companies to censor users’ speech, including after the “Twitter files” were released
  • FBI whistleblowers’ allegations of retaliation
  • “Big Tech’s collusion with out-of-control government agencies to silence speech” including the use of “AI-powered censorship and propaganda tools”
  • big banks surveilling Americans’ private financial data based on alleged political or religious beliefs
  • the “Biden White House’s censorship regime”

Trump-Hating Rapper Is Official ‘Hype Man’ for U.S. Women’s Water Polo Team in Paris Olympics

(Headline USA) There may still be more than two months to go until the Paris Olympics, but already the games are threatening to be an insufferably woke display of election-year virtue-signaling—and you can bet that if presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump remains the frontrunner in July, much of the vitriol will be directed his way.

Although the 2021 Tokyo games included some uplifting moments, such as the patriotic display by gold-medal-winning wrestler Tamyra Mensah–Stock, the quadrennial event (rescheduled due to COVID—and probably Trump) largely offered an ominous sneak preview of what lay ahead for the next several years in Joe Biden’s America: a society devoid of its sense of national identity and, largely, of its sense of focus and purpose.

Apart from the participation of transgender competitors, the most emblematic of moments was the much ballyhooed decision by gymnastics star Simone Biles to quit mid-competition for “mental health” reasons. Some have reported that she may not have been allowed to take her ADHD medication because it was banned in Japan.

Thankfully, one athlete who will not be participating in the upcoming games is Gwen Berry, the controversial hammer-thrower and activist who turned her back last time on the U.S. flag during the national anthem. Berry is currently serving a 16-month suspension for a doping violation.

But at least one overtly political figure will be there to take her place—and it won’t even be an athlete.

William “Flava Flav” Drayton—the Public Enemy performer made famous for his signature fashion statement, an alarm clock around his neck—has stepped forward as the official mascot of the women’s water polo team.

He answered the call following an Instagram post by player Maggie Steffens seeking financial sponsorships as the team goes for an unprecedented fourth consecutive gold medal.

He is now finalizing a deal that will make him a USA Water Polo sponsor and the official hype man for a program seeking a bigger spotlight.

The 65-year-old Flav, a founding member and hype man with Public Enemy, was previously kicked out of the group by frontman Chuck D in March 2020, allegedly for refusing to support socialist candidate Bernie Sanders—although the group members have since reconciled.

Not long after, Joe Biden won the Super Tuesday races and Sanders quickly conceded.

Flava Flav made clear that he had nothing against Sanders and that there was only one candidate with whom he actively took issue.

“I think they’re all good people,” he told The Guardian. “Except Trump. Some people tried to say I did this because I’m a Trump supporter and that’s not true. F**k Trump!”

Away from his politically charged bandmates though, the ex-reality television star seems to have softened his image considerably.

He already has jumped headfirst into his new hype-man duties, highlighting some of the team’s best players on social media. He also is making plans to watch the women’s team play in Paris.

“When I come out and I watch this water polo team … ‘USA! USA!’ Yo, I’m going to be the biggest hype man that they ever had in their life,” he told the AP on Friday. “I’m going to be bigger than any cheerleader that they had in their life. I’m going to cheer this team on, and I’m going to cheer this team into winning a gold medal.”

Steffens said it was “very surreal” when Flav reached out.

“My whole family was like ‘Is this real? Flav is part of the water polo world now?’” Steffens said. “I was like ‘I don’t know what’s going on, but I want to wear a clock right now, and that’s how I’m feeling.’”

Steffens and the U.S. team also have another high-profile woke supporter in Taylor Swift. They attended the musician’s Eras Tour concert on Friday night at La Défense Arena — the venue for the women’s water polo final on Aug. 10.

Women’s national team manager Ally Beck reached out to Swift’s camp and surprised the team with the tickets.

Flav said he also contacted Swift’s team, but the tickets had already been approved.

Flav, who is working on another tour with Public Enemy that could begin later this year, then held up a T-shirt with his picture that read “KING SWIFTIE.”

“I’m proud to support Taylor. … Flavor Flav is a Swiftie, the king of all the Swifties,” he said.

That’s another connection Flav has with his new favorite team.

UN Reveals Actual Number of Gaza Civilian Casualties Is Half What It Claimed

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) The United Nations admitted that it had drastically overreported the number of civilian casualties in Gaza based on the information proffered by Hamas propagandists.

The UN has now cut its original estimated number of casualties for Palestinian women and children in half, the Jerusalem Post reported

The acknowledgement comes after left-wing activists have used the bogus information as the pretense to mobilize massive protests on college campuses and elsewhere throughout the U.S. and other westernized nations accusing Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians.

The United Nations, according to the report, had initially taken and published the numbers reported by the Gaza Ministry of Health.

On May 6, the predictions of the deaths of women and children reached their high water mark, with over 9,500 women and over 14,500 children—a total of approximately 25,000—reported to have been killed out 34,735 total.

Two days later, the total number of estimated deaths had ticked up slightly, to 34,844—but it qualified the figure by noting that only 24,686 had been identified.

And among those, only 12,756 were women and children under 18 (some of whom may have been Hamas fighters). Thus, the actual UN total was nearly just a little over half what it had clamed two days prior.

The figures also listed 1,924 elderly casualties.

Nonetheless, the 40% remaining were males in their prime, presumed to be Israeli enemy combattants, a significant uptick from the earlier estimate.

Several days after the alteration, the UN denied having changed the death toll data when Farhan Haq, deputy spokesman for Secretary–General António Guterres, told reporters that the “number remains unchanged.”

Haq explained the altered statistics regarding women and children came as a response to a more thorough report out of Gaza after officials were able to more accurately identify bodies.

“What’s changed is the ministry of health in Gaza has updated the breakdown of fatalities, for whom full details have been documented,” Haq noted.

Still, the UN released its updated numbers only after months of argument from Israeli officials, suggesting that the numbers provided by Gaza remain unreliable.

Facing scrutiny for the statistical errors or manipulations, Haq further suggested that the data was wrong because the “fog of war” made it difficult to gather accurate data:

“We get numbers from different sources on the ground, and then we try to cross check them,” Haq continued. “As we cross check them, we update the numbers, and we’ll continue to do that as that progresses.”

The ministry has been criticized in the past for pushing misinformation, such as a false report that an Israeli rocket had hit a hospital in the early days of the military campaign. It was later revealed to be a misfired rocket from a militant group inside Gaza.

Astute critics also pointed out that some of the media reports coming out of Gaza appeared to rely on the same crisis actors reprising their roles as victims to gain sympathy in multiple propaganda videos.

DOJ Drops Charges against J6er Representing Himself in Court

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Some three years ago, the Justice Department charged Kansas man William Pope with eight crimes in relation to his participation in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol Hill protest.

Since then, Pope has been representing himself in court—and, judging by recent filings, he’s giving the DOJ’s lawyers all they can handle.

Indeed, the DOJ informed the presiding judge on Monday that it won’t be prosecuting two of the charges against Pope: impeding ingress and egress in a restricted building or grounds, and impeding passage through the Capitol grounds or buildings.

The DOJ’s move to dismiss follows a motion Pope filed in March for more information about the crimes he’s been accused of committing. The DOJ never explained to Pope which particular officers he impeded, what he did to impede anyone, and whose ingress or egress was impeded.

Rather than providing Pope with more specifics, the DOJ is dropping two of the charges after more than three years.

“The government moved to dismiss two of my charges rather than provide particulars as ordered by the Court, an admission their indictment was a sham! For three years, I was charged with these counts, but the government had no facts to back it up!” Pope announced on Twitter. “Un-American government extremism!”

But Pope isn’t satisfied with the DOJ just dropping two charges. On Monday, he filed a motion to have the “parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol Building” charged dropped against him, also on the grounds that the DOJ hasn’t provided him with specifics about that alleged crime.

“Since at this late hour I still have not been informed about the nature of these accusations against me, and since I am now deprived of the opportunity to confront these accusations with pre-trial motions, I move that these three charges be dismissed,” Pope said in that motion.

“Furthermore, the government has just tonight moved for Counts Five and Seven to be dismissed. I support the government’s proposed dismissal with my only criticism being that they should have dropped more!”

Pope has several other outstanding motions to dismiss charges against him, including one explaining how he’s a journalist who was reporting on Jan. 6.

His trial is currently set for July.
