Watchdog Warns of Oreo-Maker’s Ties to Radical Globalist, Marxist Organizations

(National Legal and Policy Center) Following the viral online ad it released about Oreo and its troubling partnership with LGBT advocacy group PFLAG, a leading conservative-oriented corporate watchdog, the National Legal and Policy Center has published a follow-up video to promote a shareholder proposal it will present on May 22 at the annual meeting of Mondelez International, parent company of the cookie brand.

NLPC’s resolution calls upon the multinational snack giant to scrutinize areas of risk where it has engaged in disturbing relationships with outside organizations, such as the one Oreo has with PFLAG.

Other examples in the proposal cite Mondelez’s support for the Marxist, anti-law enforcement group Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, and the company’s partnership with the anti-Semitic UN Human Rights.

“Mondelez is carelessly dashing through the consumer market dropping mines that very well could end up as tripwires for themselves,” said Paul Chesser, director of the Corporate Integrity Project for NLPC.

“It’s not surprising since Chairman/CEO Dirk Van de Put also serves on the board of Anheuser Busch InBev, the company that self-inflicted the greatest brand destruction in many years last April with Bud Light,” he added.

As NLPC pointed out with its Oreo video released in February, PFLAG condones gender transition treatments for children as young as 3 years old, and battles to make sure books with explicit content are allowed in public schools and libraries.

NLPC initiated its campaign to highlight the cookie-maker’s inappropriate relationship with PFLAG after it noticed the brand’s social media accounts—primarily on Twitter—were heavily populated with posts in support of PFLAG’s various narratives, causes and social advocacy.

The new video calls attention to Mondelez’s alliances with BLM and UN Human Rights, as well as PFLAG.

In a white paper filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission last month, NLPC also identified possible risky relationships the Chicago-based company has with organizations that include Human Rights Campaign, World Economic Forum, the World Health Organization, and others.

The broader media is noticing the increasing criticisms of Corporate America’s fealty to the radical LGBT agenda that includes the sexualization of children.

The Wall Street Journal last week reported on NLPC’s proposal for Mondelez, and last month the nonprofit corporate watchdog earned widespread coverage of its proposal at Disney, which sought equal treatment for employees who have been victimized by radical gender ideology, including detransitioners.

“The political winds have shifted from just a few years ago, yet Mondelez is still living in the past as if nothing has changed,” said NLPC Chairman Peter Flaherty.

“Now that the extreme transgenderism push has inevitably progressed to endanger children, corporate involvement in social justice issues is more treacherous than ever,” he added. “We urge Dirk Van de Put to wake up to the reality before it’s too late, or the consequences could be devastating.”

Far-Left State Turns Prison into Shelter for Illegals

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Gov. Maura Healey’s, D–Mass., office confirmed on May 11, 2024, that the state will convert a shuttered prison into an emergency “safety-net” site for illegal aliens.

In 2015, the Bay State Correctional Center in Norfolk was decommissioned, but it will soon serve as temporary housing for approximately 140 local homeless and illegal families residing in Massachusetts, the only state with a right-to-shelter law, Blaze Media reported.

In November 2023, the state’s emergency shelter system reached capacity at 7,500 families.

The facility is still “in good condition,” Emergency Assistance Director Scott Rice said. The building served as a minimum-security prison, featuring dorm-like rooms, a cafeteria, a gymnasium, a common room and offices. On each floor, residents will have access to showers and bathrooms.

The state also plans to create a play area for children and classroom spaces for adults, Rice said, adding that the facility will host English for Speakers of Other Languages courses, job training and housing search workshops. Additionally, razor wire on the fence that lines the property will be removed, and the facility’s gates will remain open.

The news source reported that the emergency shelter should be operational in June of this year.

It was also discovered that the town of Norfolk only learned the prison would be converted into shelter space on May 10, 2024. Lieutenant Gov. Kim Driscoll, D-Mass., briefed the town on the plan the next day.

The prison will serve as a shelter for illegals for six to 12 months, Norfolk officials said, adding that they had “no role in this decision” and were “not consulted prior.” They also said that the plan to turn the prison into a shelter has “many logistical challenges,” which they plan to discuss with school leaders, police and fire chiefs.

“Gov. Healey has proven time and time again that she is willing to do just about anything except address the root cause of the issue [of illegal immigration]… [This] problem is only going to… get worse,” Paul Craney of the Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance said.

Anti-Israel Protestors Occupy Building at the University of Chicago

(Headline USA) A group protesting the war in Gaza and demanding that the University of Chicago divest from companies doing business with Israel took over a building on the school’s campus.

Members of the group surrounded the Institute of Politics building around 5 p.m. Friday while others made their way inside, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

The occupation came as other colleges across the country, anxious to prepare for commencement season, either negotiated agreements with students or called in police to dismantle protest camps.

The Chicago protest follows the May 7 clearing of a pro-Palestinian tent encampment at the school by police. University of Chicago administrators had initially adopted a permissive approach, but said earlier this month that the protest had crossed a line and caused growing concerns about safety.

On Friday, campus police officers using riot shields gained access to the Institute of Politics building and scuffled with protesters. Some protesters climbed from a second-floor window, according to the Sun-Times.

The school said protesters attempted to bar the entrance, damaged university property and ignored directives to clear the way, and that those inside the building left when campus police officers entered.

“The University of Chicago is fundamentally committed to upholding the rights of protesters to express a wide range of views,” school spokesperson Gerald McSwiggan said in a statement. “At the same time, university policies make it clear that protests cannot jeopardize public safety, disrupt the university’s operations or involve the destruction of property.”

No arrests or injuries were reported.

More than 2,900 people have been arrested on U.S. campuses over the past month.

Despite an immediate uproar in protests at the outbreak of the war, as summer break approaches, there have been fewer new arrests and campuses have been calmer.

Taxpayers Lose Billions to Government Overlap, Duplication

(Brett Rowland, The Center Square) – Overlap and duplication cost taxpayers billions, according to a new report from a Congressional watchdog.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office’s annual report identified opportunities to save billions of dollars by reducing overlap, duplication and fragmentation across the federal government.

The report outlines 112 measures that Congress and federal agencies could take to save money and improve government services.

“This year’s report provides Congress and federal agencies with new opportunities to save federal dollars, increase revenue, and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of a wide range of federal programs,” said Gene Dodaro, comptroller general and head of the GAO.

“By addressing this year’s pointed list, as well as open recommendations to both agencies and Congress from GAO’s past work, the federal government could potentially save tens of billions of dollars.”

Among the suggestions: The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency could potentially save its federal customers hundreds of millions of dollars through reduced prices by making sure its working capital fund cash balance is within its operating range.

Another one: Improving sole proprietor tax compliance could increase revenue by hundreds of millions of dollars per year.

Earlier this year, the GAO, which serves as the research arm of Congress, estimated annual fraud losses cost taxpayers between $233 billion and $521 billion annually, according to a report published last month.

OLS Task Force Takes Down Human Smuggling Operation

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) – After a year-long investigation into a smuggling operation at the border, an Operation Lone Star Task Force led by Goliad County Sheriff Roy Boyd took down several operatives allegedly involved in human smuggling.

The Center Square on Friday accompanied Boyd on an undercover operation in the border town of Roma in Starr County that led to the arrest of two women after one was arrested on Thursday. Two others remain at large with warrants out for their arrest.

In the early morning hours while it was still pitch black, sheriff’s deputies from Goliad and Jackson counties, Kingsville Police Department narcotics officers, and U.S. Marshalls were involved in arresting members of an alleged human trafficking ring uncovered by Goliad County Sheriff’s Office investigators.

The investigation began in coordination with Border Patrol agents. Starr County Sheriff’s Office liaisons were on scene as was Texas Border Czar Mike Banks.

Boyd’s OLS Task Force members hit the second leg of an alleged human smuggling transport operation based in Roma.

The first leg, organized by cartel operatives, involved transporting foreign nationals from Mexico across the Rio Grande River into Roma. After they arrived, different women, including a mother of young children, allegedly took turns transporting the foreign nationals to Houston.

When some did, they drove through Goliad County, were apprehended and arrested on smuggling charges. Then, GCSO special investigators launched an in-depth investigation and uncovered a human smuggling ring previously unknown to law enforcement.

They next identified other members of the group and discovered that they had been working together on multiple occasions acting as scouts and drivers, transporting illegal foreign nationals through Border Patrol check points and then through Goliad on their way to Houston.

In the past 24 hours, that’s exactly what happened. Three women were arrested and charged with continuous smuggling of persons, a felony that carries up to 10 years in prison per count. All three arrested are U.S. citizens and residents of Roma: Margarita Garcia 41, Jackqueline Munoz, 34, and Christine Montelango, 34. Two alleged smugglers remain at large with warrants out for their arrest.

Garcia was arrested on Thursday in a traffic stop. Munoz was arrested early Friday morning with her 15-year-old daughter in her vehicle. Montelango was arrested after dropping her young children off to school. She was wearing a T-shirt with an image of a rat wearing a crown holding a needle and a piece of cheese that reads, “snitches get stitches.”

Investigators told The Center Square it’s not unusual for women, including mothers, to smuggle people. Sometimes “they use their own children as cover,” they said.

Their findings were also typical operations of a transnational criminal organization, they said. The alleged smugglers held foreign nationals in a stash house in Mission, a border town roughly an hour east, before moving them north.

Each of the women is being held on $175,000 bond in the Goliad County jail.

The OLS Task Force and the Goliad Sheriff’s Office have developed a reputation of pursuing and arresting those who commit crimes in their county.

Boyd told The Center Square that transporting alleged criminals to their jail was part of their methodology “of bringing defendants to the Goliad jurisdiction to ensure we conduct the most thorough investigation we can. Instead of making the arrests and turning them over to local jurisdictions, we continue investigating in an effort to identify and arrest the principals of the organization we are working with.”

OLS Task Force members include “like-minded” sheriffs, Jackson County Sheriff Kelly R. Janica told The Center Square. He proudly joined Boyd when the task force was created more than two years ago. One of his deputies was on scene in Starr County, roughly four hours south of Jackson County.

Trump to Speak at NRA Meeting

(Headline USA) President Donald Trump is expected to address thousands of members of the National Rifle Association in Texas a day after campaigning in Minnesota.

Trump has pledged to continue to defend the Second Amendment and has called himself “the best friend gun owners have ever had in the White House.”

Speaking Friday in Minnesota, Trump said: “You know, it’s an amazing thing. People that have guns, people that legitimately have guns, they love guns and they use guns for the right purpose, but they tend to vote very little and yet they have to vote for us. There’s nobody else to vote for because the Democrats want to take their guns away and they will take their guns away.”

He added, “That’s why I’m going to be talking to the NRA tomorrow to say, ‘You gotta get out and vote.’”

Kamala Harris attacked President Trump for his loyalty to the Second Amendment. She said “Donald Trump will continue to sacrifice our kids’ and communities’ safety to keep these special interests happy.”

On Saturday, Trump is expected to give the keynote address as the powerful gun lobby holds a forum in Dallas. Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott will also speak.

Prominent gun safety groups that have endorsed Biden are planning to demonstrate near the convention center where the organization plans to meet.

While Trump sees strong support in Texas, Democrats in the state think they have a chance to flip a Senate seat in November with U.S. Rep. Colin Allred leading an underdog campaign to unseat Republican Ted Cruz. No Democrat has won a statewide office in Texas in 30 years, the longest streak of its kind in the country.

Chinese Commies Connected to Pro-Hamas College Protests

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The Network Contagion Research Institute published a new report, in which it detailed how anti-Israel campus occupations were partially influenced by the Chinese Communist Party.

The occupation of Columbia University’s Hamilton Hall was prompted by a meeting at The People’s Forum, which is linked to Neville Roy Singham, the report stated, adding that Singham is ”a known conduit for CCP geopolitical influence.”

An activist organization called “Shut it down for Palestine” came into existence following the Hamas terror attack on Oct. 7., 2023, the report wrote. At the time of its founding, the organization “publicly listed its seven core organizations,” which included The People’s Forum and National Students for Justice in Palestine.

The institute described Shut it Down for Palestine as “an anti-capitalist, anti-police and anti-government protest movement that emerged after [Oct.] 7, 2023.”

The Hamilton Hall takeover ”is part of a trend that has seen movements advocating for social justice employ increasingly aggressive tactics to disrupt public order and push the boundaries of foundational, legal and ethical norms,” the report said.

”The events of April 29-30 were not isolated, and appear to be a manifestation of a broader, more coordinated campaign influenced by entities that have ties to foreign powers and foreign terrorist organizations,” the organization wrote.

Singham “works closely with the Chinese government media machine and is financing its propaganda worldwide,” the New York Times reported, adding that one Singham-funded outlet co-produced a YouTube show that was “financed in part” by Shanghai’s propaganda department.

The news source also reported that two other outlets funded by Singham worked with a Chinese university to “spread China’s voice to the world.”

In 2021, Singham attended a Communist Party workshop about promoting the communist party all around the world.

Singham told the Times that the Chinese government doesn’t direct his work, even though his groups and staff members share office space with a company that was founded to educate people about “the miracles that China has created on the world stage.”

Kamala’s Claims Expose Dark Realities of the ‘Inflation Reduction Act’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) It’s safe to say Vice President Kamala Harris can’t keep a secret, as she recently shed light on Democrats’ hidden agenda concerning an “inflation” bill.

On Friday, Harris affirmed that the Biden administration is “dropping trillions of dollars on streets of America right now” through the infamous Inflation Reduction Act.

Harris added that the massive spending aims to “build back our roads, our bridges, our sidewalks, to invest in a clean energy economy, to deal with the climate crisis…”

Harris’s assertions suggest that the IRA, despite initial claims, does not aim to reduce inflation but rather worsen it by fueling the Biden administration’s leftist spending.

Critics quickly highlighted this striking statement from Harris on Twitter, as reported first by Fox News on Friday.

“Has there ever been a more ironic sentence?” Media critic and journalist Tom Elliot wrote on Twitter.

Echoing Elliot’s sentiments was radio host Vince Conglianese, who sarcastically posted, “Because reducing inflation always involves dropping trillions of dollars on the street!”

Chuck Ross, a reporter for the Washington Free Beacon, wrote, “Dang, they should have called it the ‘Trillions of Dollars on American Streets Act.’ Missed PR opportunity.”

Democrats, including President Joe Biden, misleadingly touted the Inflation Reduction Act as a law to tackle the inflation caused by the Biden administration.

According to the Heritage Foundation, the IRA will “likely” increase federal deficits and raise taxes by $570 billion.

“The law diverts taxpayer dollars into unreliable electricity sources, like solar and wind, while sending a clear signal that reliable electricity sources, like natural gas, are disfavored,” the conservative think tank added.

“The law aggressively uses the levers of government to influence what vehicles Americans drive, getting them out of gas and diesel-powered vehicles and into electric vehicles (EVs), and even pushes consumers away from natural gas appliances to electric appliances,” it continued.

Harris’s claim comes as she was deployed to the campaign trail, where she has consistently made some odd and incoherent remarks.

Last week, Harris raised eyebrows when she unexpectedly started mentioning “ovaries” and veered into a discussion about tumors during a speech about abortion.

Earlier this week, Harris relied on a profanity-laced speech to urge minorities to break through boundaries.

“Kick the f**king door down,” she told Asian-Americans.

Black NYC Man Attacks Orthodox Jewish Boys

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A black young man brutally kicked and punched two Orthodox Jewish children on a sidewalk in New York City, with the attack being captured on video.

The boys, aged 11 and 13, were playing on the sidewalk in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, on the night of May 12, 2024, when a man got off a Citi Bike and attacked them, the Daily Mail reported.

Before kicking and stomping on one of the boys, the grown man told the boys to “get off the sidewalk,” as was captured on the video of the attack.

The boys were treated at the scene by the emergency medical services and suffered minor cuts on the back of their heads, according to the officials.

As of May 18, 2024, the NYPD is still looking for the unidentified man and the attack is being probed as a possible hate crime.

The suspect is described as between 18 to 20 years old and was last seen wearing a black jacket, black and white striped shirt, light blue jeans and white sneakers, the Mail reported.

“This assault on a group of Orthodox Jewish children is disgusting. Anti-Semitism has no home in Brooklyn, and I am grateful that the Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating this attack. My office is monitoring the situation,” Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso said.

The news came after Jewish civil rights and advocacy groups reported large increases in harassment, bias and physical attacks against their members in the wake of the war between Israel and Hamas.

To be specific, there has been a nearly 50% increase in anti-Semitic crime in the Big Apple in the first four months of 2024.

Both New York City and the state of New Jersey have become hotspots for anti-Semitic-related crimes, the NYPD data revealed.

The city officials also reported a 45% increase in hate crimes towards Jewish people has been reported by city officials.

The NYPD statistics also revealed that 96 such hate incidents have been reported across the city as of April 2024, which is a stark rise from the 66 incidents that were reported during the same time period in 2023.

“The terror attacks on October 7th changed the public safety landscape, and we’re still feeling the ripple effects of that terrible day,” NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban said on May 15, 2024, at a pre-Passover security briefing.

GOP Lawmakers Admit to Affair: ‘His Marriage Has Been Over…’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Two Republican lawmakers have confirmed rumors about their “relationship,” following the divorce announcement from one of them.

Reps. Beth Van Duyne, R-Texas, and Rich McCormick, R-Ga., garnered attention after the revelation of the end of McCormick’s 12-year marriage, accompanied by damning remarks from his wife.

However, in an interview with the Daily Mail on Friday, Van Duyne stated that she is “happily engaged in a relationship” with McCormick.

“I’m single. We’re both parents of adult children and empty nesters,” she clarified.

Regarding McCormick’s marital status, she affirmed that “has been over for quite some time, as I understand it.”

“He’s filed for divorce,” the Texas lawmaker added.

The Daily Mail reported on Thursday that the two lawmakers have been seen holding hands and being affectionate while in Congress.

One lawmaker alleged witnessing McCormick “grabbing the small of her back” on the House floor.

The relationship faced scrutiny as McCormick’s second wife, Dr. Debra Miller, provided some critical statements to the Daily Mail.

“I’m sure that he will not be forthcoming,” she responded when questioned about the reason behind the divorce.

Asked about the possibility of an affair contributing to the breakup, she redirected, saying, “You should ask Rich and his colleague.”

McCormick’s office refrained from offering a detailed response to the Daily Mail, asserting, “Congressman McCormick and Dr. Miller have been separated for quite some time. He has kept that private and will continue to keep his personal life out of the media spotlight.”

Van Duyne has been separated from her former husband since 2012, with whom she was married for 17 years.

McCormick filed for divorce from Miller on May 3, as reported by the Daily Mail, citing Georgia court records.

A mutual restraining order was issued by the court, in accordance with county ordinances.

McCormick has seven children with Miller, while Van Duyne has two children with her ex-husband.
