Reports: Apalachee School Shooter ‘Bullied for Being Gay,’ Begged for Mental Health Help

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) More details are pouring out about 14-year-old Apalachee High School Shooter Colt Gray, including that he was allegedly bullied for being gay, that he “expressed frustration with the acceptance of transgender people,” and that he struggled with mental health issues.

Gray faces life in prison for killing four people—two fellow students and two teachers—and injuring at least nine others on Wednesday. His father, Colin Gray, has also arrested for allowing his son to have a weapon.

Shortly after his shooting spree, it was revealed that Gray had been on the FBI’s radar over shooting threats he allegedly made on the gaming platform Discord.

According to a Friday report from CNN, Gray’s Discord posts “shared a desire to target an elementary school and expressed frustration with the acceptance of transgender people.”

“im committing a mass shooting and im waiting a good 2-3 years,” stated the account user, according to CNN, which obtained screenshots from an FBI incident report about Gray’s threats. “I cant kill myself yet, cause I’m not contributing anything to culture I need to go out knowing I did.”

A Discord spokesperson reportedly told CNN on Wednesday the platform removed an account believed to be associated with Gray in May 2023 for violating Discord’s policy against extremism.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail also reported Friday that Gray was bullied in being in school for being gay. That information reportedly comes from the interview local law enforcement conducted with the father, Colin, after the FBI flagged Colt’s threats on Discord last year.

“It was very difficult for him to go to school and not get picked on,” Colin Gray told an investigator, according to a transcript of the conversation reportedly obtained by the Daily Mail. “It went from one thing to another… I was trying to get him on the golf team… [they were like] Oh, look, Colt’s gay. He’s dating that guy. Just ridiculed him day after day after day.”

Finally, a Washington Post article on Friday reported that Gray had been “begging for months” for mental health help before he went on his shooting spree.

Gray “was begging for help from everybody around him,” the teenager’s aunt, Annie Brown, told The Post. “The adults around him failed him.”

The Gray cases will be presented to a grand jury, which has its next scheduled meeting Oct. 17. Grand jury proceedings are not open to the public or news media. If the grand jury issues indictments for Colt and Colin Gray, they will then be scheduled for arraignment. Colt Gray faces another hearing on Dec. 4.

FBI Gave $500M in Contracts, Including No-Bid Work, to Same Person

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The DOJ’s Inspector General published a scathing report Thursday about the FBI’s use of a ballistic researcher, finding that the bureau awarded sole-source contracts for ballistic research assistant services to the same individual for the last 18 years.

That contractor, which was not named, has provided the FBI with more than $500 million worth of weapons, ammunition, personal protection armor for FBI agents, and other goods and services, the report said.

When it comes to ballistics research, the FBI has awarded the contractor four consecutive IDIQ sole-source contracts since 2006, totaling over $1.9 million.

The FBI claimed that the contractor is the only person “with the combined knowledge, skills, and ability to evaluate firearms and medical information as it relates to ballistics research,” according to the DOJ-OIG report.

However, “it was not clear whether the FBI performed any market research other than considering the qualifications of its existing contractor. In addition, the market research report did not identify if the contractor was the only source that existed in the marketplace or if there were other sources available to provide the service,” the DOJ-OIG found.

And while the DOJ-OIG didn’t find any problems with the contractor’s work, the inspector general concluded that “the FBI’s methods for awarding the 2021 contract to this individual improperly impeded competition [and] potentially circumvented civil service laws.”

The DOJ-OIG also found that the FBI failed to competitively bid the 2021 contract. Additionally, the bureau didn’t review whether any of the contracts it’s given the ballistics researcher violated conflict-of-interest rules.

“Considering the sensitivity and significant value of the procurements that Contractor-1 participated in, appropriate precautions should have been taken to identify and mitigate any actual or perceived conflicts of interest related to Contractor-1 to ensure judicious spending of government funds and safety of FBI employees,” the DOJ-OIG said.

The DOJ-OIG recommended five reforms to the FBI’s procurement system, including for the bureau to evaluate any potential conflicts of interest related to “Contractor-1.” The FBI agreed with the recommendations.

But while the FBI promised reforms, the DOJ-OIG noted that Thursday’s report wasn’t the first time the inspector general has found flaws with how it gives out contracts.

A Silver Tea Cup! Epic 45-Year Pattern Should Have Traders Drooling

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) Gold has been on quite a bull run this year, but silver has lagged.

The wide gold-silver ratio tells us that silver is historically underpriced compared to gold, and it’s clear that the white metal isn’t priced for the supply and demand dynamics.

What gives?

In 1981, Roy Jastram wrote a book titled Silver: The Restless Metal. This perfectly captures the difficulty of nailing down the trajectory of silver.

One factor that complicates things is that silver serves two very different roles.

A little over 50 percent of silver demand comes from industrial offtake, and with the rapidly expanding “green economy,” this percentage will likely climb. Industrial metals are sensitive to a host of economic factors including the overall trajectory of the global economy. Recessions typically put downward price pressures on metals.

But at its core, silver is a monetary metal, and it tends to generally track with gold over time – albeit in a more volatile manner.

Untangling these various factors presents a significant challenge for silver investors.

Looking Into a Hazy Crystal Ball

Economic and market forecasting is a tricky business in any environment. We may have a crystal ball, but it is rather opaque and hazy.

At its core, economics is about causes and their predictable effects. For instance, we know that raising a price will lower demand all other things being equal.

Because causes and effects are at least somewhat predictable, we can identify patterns in markets. As an example, knowing that artificially low interest rates create inflationary pressures offers insight into how gold and silver will behave in a lower interest rate environment.

The challenge is untangling various factors and policies operating simultaneously in a complex economy. Causes and effects can cancel each other out, making market forecasting extremely difficult.

So, how do we predict the eventual outcome?

Humility demands we always remember we can’t. It’s impossible to know all that there is to know. But there are tools that will provide insight and guidance.

History provides one way to help untangle the mess. This is why analysts often turn to technical charts. They reveal patterns that often repeat. By identifying patterns, we can gain insight into how things might be playing out.

What Can Price Charts Tell Us About Silver?

If we look at a 50-year price chart for silver, we see a very distinctive pattern known as a “secular cup and handle.”

This is a long-term bullish pattern. You can see the “cup” with the twin highs of around $50 per ounce in 1980 and 2011. Following the 2011 peak, we see a sharp decline in the price followed by a consolidation “handle.”

A handle pattern on the chart of a stock or commodity often precedes a breakout.

This cup-and-handle pattern has played out over an extremely long timeframe. Historically, longer patterns portend bigger breakouts with a broader base signaling a bigger upside case.

Gold followed a similar long-term pattern, resolving with a breakout to new all-time highs last year.

Silver has lagged gold’s performance, but that is actually a common occurrence. Whatever silver lacks at the beginning of a precious metals bull market, it typically makes up for it at the end.

If history is any indication, silver may soon follow gold’s lead.

After gold’s recent breakout above $2,500 per ounce, gold’s continued strength above that key level should act like a magnet to pull silver toward the $50 level. Should it occur, a decisive break above $50 silver would complete an epic, 45-year cup-and-handle pattern, and market technicians would then look for a slingshot move higher from there.

Zooming into a five-year chart, we can clearly see silver breaking out from its post-pandemic consolidation wedge.

Putting It All Together

As the saying goes, history doesn’t always repeat, but it often rhymes. When we see these kinds of patterns emerge, one should sit up and take notice.

This is especially true when it coincides with the fundamentals.

As I already mentioned, the gold-silver ratio is historically wide at 87:1, meaning that it takes 87 ounces of silver to buy an ounce of gold. To put that into perspective, the average in the modern era has been between 40:1 and 60:1.

In other words, from a historical perspective, silver is underpriced.

Historically, the ratio has always returned to the mean. And it has done so with a vengeance, overshooting that mean. The ratio fell to 30:1 in 2011 and below 20:1 in 1979.

On the supply side, we’ve seen silver market deficits for the past three years, and Metals Focus projects demand to outstrip production again this year.

When you put the technical factors together with the fundamentals, there appears to be an extremely strong bullish case for silver with significant upside.

Gold-Back ETFs Report Net Gold Inflows for the Fourth Straight Month

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) For the fourth straight month, gold-backed ETFs increased their net gold holdings. Funds in every region reported net inflows of gold with Western funds leading the way.

Globally, gold-backed ETFs added 28.5 tons of gold to their holdings in August.

Due to a combination of rising gold prices and inflows of metal, global assets under management (AUM) held by gold-backed ETFs have increased by 20 percent so far this year, coming in at $275 billion as of the end of August.

With the inflows of metal over the last four months, the year-to-date decline in ETF gold holding narrowed to 44 tons.

After finally turning positive in July, funds in North America led the way in August, adding 17.2 tons of gold to their holdings. In dollar terms, gold holdings increased by $1.4 billion. Declining Treasury yields and dollar weakness created tailwinds for gold last month and drove the yellow metal to new record highs.

According to the World Gold Council, the strong gold price performance led to exercises of in-the-money call options of major gold ETFs, creating sizable inflows at the expiry date.

European funds reported net gold inflows of 7.9 tons amounting to $362 million. Swiss and UK-based funds led inflows. The high likelihood of further interest rate cuts in the Eurozone boosted gold, along with safe haven buying.

According to the World Gold Council, “Inflows related to FX hedging products were notable, especially in Switzerland, amid the strengthening local currencies against the dollar.”

Flows of gold into Asian funds slowed, but remained positive for the 18th straight month, coming in at 0.3 tons. In dollar terms, holdings grew by $32 million, the smallest increase since May 2023.

India continues to lead the way in gold inflows in the region and reported the strongest month since April 2019. The recent import duty reduction has lit a fire under the Indian gold market.

Japan also reported notable inflows for the sixth straight month.

Funds in other regions added 3.2 tons. Australia has reported increased ETF gold holdings for three straight months.

Average over-the-counter (OTC) trading volumes rose by 5.9 percent month-on-month to $158 billion per day. In tonnage terms, OTC volumes charted 2 percent month-on-month increase.

Inflows of gold into ETFs can have a significant impact on the global gold market by pushing overall demand higher.

ETFs are a convenient way for investors to play the gold market, but owning ETF shares is not the same as holding physical gold.

A gold ETF is backed by a trust company that holds metal owned and stored by the trust. In most cases, investing in an ETF does not entitle you to any amount of physical gold. You own a share of the ETF, not gold itself.

ETFs are relatively liquid. You can buy or sell an ETF with a couple of mouse clicks. You don’t have to worry about transporting or storing metal. In a nutshell, it allows investors to play the gold market without buying full ounces of metal at the spot price.

Since you are just buying a number in a computer, you can easily trade your ETF shares for another stock or cash whenever you want, even multiple times on the same day. Many speculative investors take advantage of this liquidity.

But while a gold ETF is a convenient way to play the price of gold on the market, you don’t actually possess any gold. You have paper. And you don’t know for sure that the fund has all the gold either, especially when the fund sees inflows. In such a scenario, there have been difficulties or delays in obtaining physical metal.

WATCH: Butler Rallygoer Releases New Video of Trump Shooting

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) A man who attended the July 13 deadly Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, has released new footage of the assassination attempt that he took while in the crowd.

The new footage comes from Geoffrey Gronski, who released it Monday on Twitter/X. Gronski was seated in front of Donald Trump, and his video largely focused on the projection screen that showed the now-famous immigration chart, which the former president says saved his life.

One of the more interesting points in the video comes around the 1:30 mark, when the Secret Service snipers are shown looking in the direction of the AGR building before alleged shooter Thomas Crooks started firing from there.

“Get down, they’re shooting!” a woman could be heard saying when shots first rang out.

“We go here, and then this happens,” a man said after the shooting ended.

In his post, Gronski said he initially wasn’t going to release his footage—until he saw the assassination attempt quickly disappear from mainstream media coverage.

“They are acting like it never happened, and they stopped pushing for the truth. The media is supposed to always search for the truth. But you won’t find that with today’s MSM. I can’t withhold my video anymore,” he said.

“America needs to see what happened at the Trump Rally on July 13th, 2024, in Butler, PA. This video isn’t the best angle, but you get more of the crowds reaction. My wife took the video, and she didn’t realize she was still recording.”

Gronski called for other attendees to release their footage, too.

“For many, the thought of watching the video they captured causes them to relive that moment again, over and over in their heads. For some, It’s a very personal and graphic video that they feel shouldn’t be seen by anyone. For those, we may never get to see those clips. For others, They don’t trust that their government will leave them alone if they post their video,” he said.

“For those people, I will submit your footage anonymously for you if you wish.”

The Secret Service reportedly responded to the new footage, telling Fox News that it’s “aware of and reviewing a variety of footage from July 13 as part of our mission assurance review.”

“The U.S. Secret Service is committed to examining the processes, procedures, and factors that led to this operational failure, so that we can ensure it never happens again,” the agency said.

ESPN Prohibits Use of ‘White Lives Matter,’ Allows ‘Black Lives Matter’

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) It was recently revealed that ESPN Fantasy Football has banned teams from being named “White Lives Matter” while allowing them to use the phrases “Black Lives Matter” and “Hamas Lives Matter.”

OutKick reported about the discovery after football fans pointed out the blatant anti-white racism.

ESPN has several banned words and phrases when someone names a fantasy football team. If someone attempts to create a fantasy football team name with specific words on the list, the far-left sports network rejects the name with a “Team name/abbreviation contains a banned word” banner.

As expected, a network that hates white people included the phrase “White Lives Matter” on its list of banned terms, classifying it as a racist slur. However, ESPN allows “Black Lives Matter” as a team name. Additionally, the organization proved once again it’s racist against whites by enabling people to use the name of the literal terrorist organization since “Hamas Lives Matter” could be used as well.

Libs of TikTok pointed out the blatant anti-white racism, which sparked a backlash against the network and led to more investigation into the words that are allowed for the fantasy teams.

“ESPN doesn’t let you use “White Lives Matter” as a fantasy sports team name because it contains “banned words,” but it’s totally fine with “Black Lives Matter.” Care to explain, @ESPN?” Libs of TikTok wrote.

The network also doesn’t allow several “offensive” words, such as “Nazi” and other foul language. The network has yet to respond when the news source reached out to ESPN for the complete list of banned words. ESPN has not yet issued a public response over the anti-white racism.

On the other hand, Yahoo Fantasy Football, the second-largest fantasy football league, doesn’t have any banned words. The news source reported that players can name their teams whatever they want, even if the speech may be offensive to some.

Far-Left Law School Offers Anti-Christian, Anti-Trump Course

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A top public university’s law school will offer a class during this year’s fall semester to push the anti-Christian– and anti-Trump propaganda by discussing the nonexistent political shift of the United States toward “authoritarian Christianist nationalism” in the “age of Trump.”

The University of Colorado Boulder’s Law School class, “Statutory Interpretation,” is offered to second-year law students and will push the far-left propaganda regarding the 2024 election.

Professor Paul Campos told students in an email obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation that the course will also distort the narrative regarding Donald Trump’s legal battles and the Supreme Court’s “legitimacy crisis.” Campos also wrote that the course could be named “The Crisis of the American Legal System in the Age of Trump.”

“[It] isn’t surprising that [the school would] offer such a course, but it is disappointing,” an anonymous law student told the DNCF.

The student also said that when he studied constitutional law, he constantly heard about how the Constitution needed to be rewritten and how “non-college-educated” voters in rural America could affect an election.

“[Professors at the university] tout the likes of Ginsburg and Sotomayor, reading their opinions as though it were gospel. I have yet to hear critiques on the liberal justices, but I often hear critiques on the likes of Justice Gorsuch, who once taught at the school,” the student said.

Among other topics included in the course were abortion and the “current legitimacy crisis” of the Supreme Court and how they create a “fundamental threat to social and political national stability.”

The professor will also spread the anti-Christian propaganda by talking about “the extent to which the American legal and political systems are being pushed toward some variety of authoritarian Christianist nationalism, with potentially fascistic overtones” and “the perils of presidentialism.”

“It is absurd that a public university in this age would push the narrative that there is a secret cabal being pushed by members of a religion to overthrow the government. I’ve heard professors and students alike joke and insult Christianity for being backward. No wonder someone is now teaching to fear it as a course,” the student said.

Putin Endorses Kamala Harris

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) On Sept. 5, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential race against Donald Trump.

According to multiple reports, Putin was asked during the Eastern Economic Forum he attended in eastern Russia about his view of the upcoming American election.

The Russian president, smiling alongside the event’s moderator, said that it was up to the American people to decide while noting that as Joe Biden has backed Harris, “we will do the same; we will support her.”

“She laughs so expressively and infectiously that it means that everything is fine with her,” he stated.

Earlier this year, while he was still running for president, Putin supported Biden, saying that he is better than Trump because he is more predictable, which means he would allow Russia to continue invading other countries next to Russia, as Barack Obama did before, for example.

Rebekah Koffler, a former DIA intelligence officer and author of Putin’s Playbook, said that the “Russians don’t really endorse anyone, in the traditional sense.”

“When it comes to preference, Putin and his regime prefer Kamala to deal with as a future U.S. president. Putin believes that he can manipulate Harris easily, unlike Trump, whom the Russians profiled as unpredictable and difficult to read,” she told Fox News.

Koffler then said that Russians are doing this because they want to mess with Americans.

“By issuing these statements, the Russians are just messing with us, specifically with the Harris team. It’s a classic influence operation to unbalance your adversary by mocking, teasing, and pleasing them, or rather appearing to please,” she added.

On the same day, Putin claimed he was open to engaging in peace talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“If there is a desire of Ukraine to carry on with the negotiations, I can do that,” he said.

The comments contradicted his previous statements when he said there was no possibility of talks amid Ukraine’s invasion of Kursk.

The dictator also said Brazil, India, or China could mediate the talks. China was among the countries that aided Russia in its war against Ukraine, which would probably mean that Ukraine would not agree to the offer.

The news came after the Justice Department claimed that Russia tried to interfere in the 2024 election, stating that the Russian government paid some of the prominent right-wing influencers and podcasters to push pro-Russian narratives and anti-Ukraine bias.

Many conservatives are rightly skeptical about the accusations, considering that it is the election year and the regime has a history of pushing the lies about Russian interference. However, there is indeed evidence of people like Lauren Chen, Tim Pool and Lauren Southern having pro-Russia and anti-Ukraine bias.

Jack Smith Fails Again as D.C. Case Pushed Past Election Day

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan announced that President Donald Trump’s trial over the Jan. 6 events will not proceed until after the 2024 election.

Chutkan set Nov. 7 as the deadline for Trump’s defense attorneys and the prosecution to file paperwork—just two days after the presidential election, Fox News reported.

Trump had initially requested that pre-trial proceedings begin in 2025, either in spring or fall, citing the presidential election.

However, Chutkan dismissed the election schedule as “not relevant” to the case or the court proceedings, adding, “I am definitely not getting drawn into an election dispute,” she said.

The new date marked a major defeat for Special Counsel Jack Smith, who had aggressively pushed to expedite the case and bring it to trial before the election.

Thursday’s hearing marked the first time the courtroom reconvened since the Supreme Court ruled that Trump has presidential immunity from criminal prosecution for actions taken during his official duties as president.

Evidence related to these duties cannot be used in court, prompting Smith to re-indict Trump without any evidence tied to his presidential tenure.

Trump’s attorneys argue the case should be dismissed, claiming the jury was presented with evidence the Supreme Court deemed inadmissible for prosecution.

On the question of immunity, Chutkan asked prosecutors to file their opening brief on September 26. As reported by The New York Times, the prosecution will summarize their evidence and explain why it is not disqualified under the immunity ruling.

The case stems from Biden’s Attorney General Merrick Garland appointing Smith to go after Trump.

Smith spearheaded a four-count criminal indictment against Trump over alleged efforts to question the 2020 election results.

Smith has aggressively pursued the case, even requesting the Supreme Court to intervene in the appeals process—an unusual move that undermined judicial integrity.

Pa.’s Radical Leftist Court Delivers Another Win to Election-Meddling Democrats

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A Pennsylvania appeals court ruled that county officials must count the provisional ballots of individuals claiming their mail-in ballots were rejected, expanding an infamous practice known as ballot curing.

The Commonwealth Court overturned a Butler County judge’s ruling that officials did not have to count the provisional ballots of individuals whose naked ballots were rejected, reported the Penn Capital-Star on Thursday.

Naked ballots refer to those submitted without the required secrecy envelope and placed directly into the return envelope. Secrecy envelopes provide a layer of privacy and prevent unauthorized individuals from seeing the voter’s choice.

Judge Matthew S. Wolf, writing for the majority, claimed that the Butler County Board of Elections lacked the legal basis to reject counting provisional ballots.

The Pennsylvania Republican Party and Butler County Board of Elections had contended that state election laws, known as the Election Code, prohibited voters from casting provisional ballots if their mail-in ballots were received on time.

The lower court ruled that counting these provisional ballots amounted to ballot curing, allowing voters to fix their ballots even after submission.

The Republican National Committee and the Pennsylvania GOP argued at the time, “There can be no dispute that the unequivocal law of Pennsylvania is that secrecy envelopes are required, and any mail-in ballot received without a secrecy envelope cannot be counted.”

The appeals court’s ruling marks yet another blow to election integrity measures ahead of the 2024 presidential election. On Friday, the Commonwealth Court ordered the Democratic strongholds of Philadelphia and Allegheny counties to count mismarked ballots.

“The refusal to count undated or incorrectly dated but timely mail ballots submitted by otherwise eligible voters because of meaningless and inconsequential paperwork errors violates the fundamental right to vote recognized in the free and equal elections clause,” Judge Ellen Ceisler wrote at the time, according to Spotlight Pa.

Pennsylvania is a must-win state for Vice President Kamala Harris, President Donald Trump’s Democratic opponent.
