Alleged Trump Fla. Assassin Was Democrat Voter, Biden Donor and Ukraine Loyalist

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) Ryan Wesley Routh, the 58-year-old suspect in the second assassination attempt of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump was identified by news sources and social-media sleuths as a former Democrat voter while living in Greensboro, N.C.

Records also showed that Routh donated to President Joe Biden and to the crowdfunding aggregate ActBlue.

Trump was about 300-500 yards away, on hole 5 when Secret Service sweeping the area noticed a gun muzzle poking through a chain-link fence obscured by bushes and promptly opened fire.

Photos from a bystander that showed Routh fleeing the scene in his black SUV, including the license plate, allowed Martin County law enforcement officials to quickly apprehend Routh, who had an AK-style rifle, backpacks containing ceramic tiles and GoPro camera among the items confiscated.

Although other details about Routh were continuing to develop, he appears to have lived in multiple states over the past few years, including North Carolina, Hawaii and Kansas. His social media identified him most recently as the owner of Camp Box Honolulu, which was unavailable on Sunday night.

He has a criminal history that includes possession of stolen goods, concealed weapons and possession of weapons of mass destruction, resisting arrest and multiple traffic charges.

Posts on Routh’s own social media suggested he was a staunch Ukraine loyalist.

Speculation abounded following the first assassination attempt on Trump, just over two months ago, that the shooter, 21-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, may have had an indirect connection to Ukraine after several pieces of circumstantial evidence linked Crooks to the multitrillion-dollar BlackRock hedge fund.

BlackRock, which also maintains close ties to the Biden White House and, in particular, the National Security Council, was tapped as the primary private organization to oversee the postwar rebuilding of Ukraine.

Trump has made clear that he intends to end the war between Ukraine and Russia through forced negotiation, which he said could take place even before he was inaugurated for his second term if re-elected.

His selection of Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, a staunch Ukraine war skeptic, over sympathizers like North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum was seen as underscoring his stance against the fighting, which has cost hundreds of billions of dollars and U.S. military equipment despite having no defined objectives or accountability.

By contrast, the selection of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz by current Vice President Kamala Harris was a plus for Ukraine.

“Since the start of the full-scale invasion [in February 2022], Walz has been a vocal advocate for Ukraine in its fight against Russia, signing legislation barring state agencies from doing business with Russian and Belarusian companies,” noted the Kyiv Independent. “His state is also home to weapons manufacturers that supply arms critical for Ukraine’s defense.”

Walz also met personally with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in April 2023.

A congressional report on the July 13 assassination attempt is expected to be released soon, although many of the circumstances remain shrouded in mystery. Headline USA has been granted permission to receive Crooks’s autopsy report.

He was known to have been ostracized in high school and was active in online communities, where he may have been radicalized. He appeared in a BlackRock commercial while attending high school.

BlackRock has also been linked to several other events suspected of trying to influence the outcome of the 2020 and 2024 elections. Although it was not directly linked to Dominion Voting Systems, it was heavily invested in CrowdStrike, a controversial cybersecurity company that has ties to both Ukraine and the Democratic National Committee and is known to have been used with some of Dominion’s voting software.

Additionally, the July coup to force Biden out of the presidential race in favor of Harris had a BlackRock tie.

One of the two “hatchetmen” who delivered Biden the news that he was being given an ultimatum by party elites was longtime adviser Mike Donilon.

He is the brother of Tom Donilon, who was chief of staff in the Clinton State Department and national security adviser under Obama, and who now serves as chairman of the BlackRock Investment Institute.

Tom Donilon has visited the White House multiple times during the Biden administration, although the odds are good those meetings were not simply to do lunch with his brother or to say ‘hi’ to his former National Security Council colleagues.

A separate suspect is expected to be arraigned in a plot to assassinate Trump this week. That suspect, a Pakistani national, is suspected of having been hired as a hitman by Iran.

Suspect IDed in 2nd Trump Assassination Attempt While Golfing in W. Palm Beach

(Headline USA) A man with an AK-style rifle pointed the firearm’s muzzle into Donald Trump’s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, around 1:30 p.m. as the former president was playing a round, prompting the U.S. Secret Service to open fire, according to three law enforcement officials.

The former president is safe and unharmed, and the FBI says it is investigating “what appears to be an attempted assassination” of the Republican presidential candidate.

Trump was on the fifth hole one or two holes behind the scene of the incident, or between 300-500 yards away, when agents began clearing the area and noticed the man with the weapon, prompting them to engage.

The person dropped the weapon and fled in an SUV, and was later taken into custody in a neighboring county, the officials said.

The suspect’s name is Ryan Wesley Routh, although no additional details had been provided as of 6 p.m. Sunday.

Dave Aronberg, state attorney for Palm Beach County, said that his office was in the process of pursuing warrants for charges although that was not to discount the possibility of additional federal charges.

According to Palm Beach Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, an eyewitness saw the assailant fleeing and was able to get photographs of the black SUV, including the license plate.

“Our agency, with this real-time crime center was fabulous,” Bradshaw said. “That’s how we got the guy.”

An AK-style firearm was recovered at the scene near Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach, two of the officials said. Two backpacks and a GoPro camera were among the other items recovered, suggesting that the assailant may have planned on filming the chaos.

The incident was the latest jarring moment in a campaign year marked by unprecedented upheaval. It occurred roughly two months after Trump was shot during an assassination attempt at a rally in Pennsylvania, and a bullet grazed his ear. Only a week later, President Joe Biden withdrew from the race.

The golf course was partially shut down for Trump as he played, and agents were a few holes ahead of him when they noticed the person with the firearm, the officials said.

There are several areas around the perimeter of the property where golfers are visible from the fence line. Secret Service agents and officers in golf carts and on ATVs generally secure the area several holes ahead and behind Trump when he golfs. Agents also usually bring an armored vehicle onto the course to quickly shelter Trump should a threat arise.

Trump had returned to Florida this weekend from a West Coast swing that included a Friday night rally in Las Vegas and a Utah fundraiser. His campaign had not advised Trump’s plans for Sunday. He often spends the morning playing golf, before having lunch at the club, one of three he owns in the state.

The former president has had a stepped-up security footprint since the assassination attempt in July. When he has been at Trump Tower in New York, a lineup of dump trucks have parked in a wall outside the building. And at outdoor rallies, he now speaks from behind an enclosure of bulletproof glass.

Trump was returned safely after the incident to his private Mar-a-Lago club, where he resides in neighboring Palm Beach, according to a person familiar with the matter.

The White House said President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, had both been briefed and would be kept updated on the investigation. The White House added they were “relieved” to know Trump is safe.

Harris, in a statement said she was “glad” Trump was safe, adding that “violence has no place in America.”

In an X post, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C, one of Trump’s top congressional allies, said he had spoken with Trump after the incident and that Trump was in “good spirits” and was “one of the strongest people I’ve ever known.”

Martin County Sheriff William D. Snyder said the suspect was apprehended within minutes of the FBI, Secret Service and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office putting out a “very urgent BOLO”—or “be on the lookout” alert” detailing the specific vehicle sought, license plate number and occupant description.

Snyder said his deputies “immediately flooded” northbound I-95, deploying to every exit between the Palm Beach County line to the south and St. Lucie County line to the north.

“One of my road patrol units saw the vehicle, matched the tag and we set up on the vehicle,” Snyder said, “We pinched in on the car, got it safely stopped and got the driver in custody.”

Snyder told WPTV that the suspect “was not armed when we took him out of the car.”

The man had a calm, flat demeanor and showed little emotion when he was stopped by police, Snyder said, saying the suspect did not question why he was being pulled over.

“He never asked, ‘what is this about?’ Obviously, law enforcement with long rifles, blue lights, a lot going on. He never questioned it,” Snyder said.

The post by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office indicated the suspect was apprehended near Palm City, Florida, about a 45-mile drive north of Trump’s golf course. Northbound lanes of I-95 were shut down, the sheriff’s office said.

A message sent to campaign officials seeking information on the security status and location of Ohio Sen. JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, was not immediately returned.

Max Egusquiza, of Palm Beach, described the emergency response outside Trump’s West Palm Beach golf course.

“From what I saw 5 black unmarked SUVs blocked in a grey Mercedes in front of the golf course. There were about 20 or more cop cars flying from nearby streets,” he said.

Trump is supposed to speak about cryptocurrency live Monday night on the social media site X for the launch of his sons’ crypto platform. He’s expected to do that from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

The former president is scheduled to return to the campaign trail on Tuesday for a town hall in Flint, Michigan with his former press secretary, Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, followed by a campaign rally in New York on Long Island on Wednesday.

At the end of the week, he’s scheduled to attend and address the Israeli–American Council National Summit in Washington, D.C. and on Saturday hold a rally in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Court Forces Gay Books on Resistant Public School District

(Headline USA) A school district in northeast Florida must allow children to access obscene and pornographic gay books, per a court order.

Per the court’s decision the School Board of Nassau County must restore access to three dozen titles including “And Tango Makes Three,” a children’s picture book based on a story about gay penguins raising a chick together.

The two male authors of the gay penguin book were plaintiffs in the lawsuit against the district.

It was not apparent that either man had fathered a child in the district at the time of the suit.

The suit was one of several challenges to a Florida’s anti-grooming law which placed restrictions on children accessing pornographic or obscene material.

Last month six major publishers and several authors filed a federal lawsuit in Orlando arguing that the anti-grooming law violated the First Amendment rights of publishers, authors and students.

“Fighting unconstitutional legislation in Florida and across the country is an urgent priority,” Penguin Random House, Hachette Book Group, HarperCollins Publishers, Macmillan Publishers, Simon & Schuster and Sourcebooks said in a statement regarding their challenge to restrictions on obscene and pornographic material.

Among the books removed in Nassau County were titles by Toni Morrison, Khaled Hosseini, Jonathan Safran Foer, Jodi Picoult and Alice Sebold.

Under the settlement the school district agreed that the gay penguin book would be returned to its library.

“Students will once again have access to [these] books,” Lauren Zimmerman, one of the plaintiffs’ attorneys, said in a statement.

Brett Steger, an attorney for the school district, did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment.

The US is Preparing Criminal Charges in Iran hack Targeting Trump

(Headline USA) The Justice Department is preparing criminal charges in connection with an Iranian hack that targeted Donald Trump‘s presidential campaign in a bid to shape the outcome of the November election, two people familiar with the matter said Thursday.

It was not immediately clear when the charges might be announced or whom precisely they will target, but they are the result of an FBI investigation into an intrusion that investigators across multiple agencies quickly linked to an Iranian effort to influence American politics.

The prospect of criminal charges comes as the Justice Department has raised alarms about aggressive efforts by countries including Russia and Iran to meddle in the presidential election between Trump and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, including by hacking and covert social media campaigns designed to shape public opinion.

Iran “is making a greater effort to influence this year’s election than it has in prior election cycles and that Iranian activity is growing increasingly aggressive as this election nears,” Assistant Attorney General Matthew Olsen, the Justice Department’s top national security official, said in a speech Thursday in New York City.

“Iran perceives this year’s elections to be particularly consequential in impacting Iran’s national security interests, increasing Tehran’s inclination to try to shape the outcome,” he added.

The Trump campaign disclosed on Aug. 10 that it had been hacked and said Iranian actors had stolen and distributed sensitive internal documents. At least three news outlets — Politico, The New York Times and The Washington Post — were leaked confidential material from inside the Trump campaign. So far, each has refused to reveal any details about what it received.

Politico reported that it began receiving emails on July 22 from an anonymous account. The source — an AOL email account identified only as “Robert” — passed along what appeared to be a research dossier that the campaign had apparently done on the Republican vice presidential nominee, Ohio Sen. JD Vance. The document was dated Feb. 23, almost five months before Trump selected Vance as his running mate.

The FBI, the office of the Director of National Intelligence and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency subsequently blamed that hack, as well as an attempted breach of the Biden-Harris campaign, on Iran.

Those agencies issued a statement saying that the hacking and similar activities were meant to sow discord, exploit divisions within American society and influence the outcome of elections.

The statement did not identify whether Iran has a preferred candidate, though Tehran has long appeared determined to seek retaliation for a 2020 strike Trump ordered as president that killed an Iranian general.

The two people who discussed the looming criminal charges spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because they were not authorized to speak publicly about a case that had not yet been unsealed.

Deluzio, Lieu Introduce ‘Full Cost of War’ Act

(Christen Smith, The Center Square) Congressional war declarations should include funding for future veteran benefits, according to legislation introduced Thursday.

The Full Cost of War Act, sponsored by Democratic U.S. Reps. Chris Deluzio of Pennsylvania and Ted Lieu of California, would require more funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs as part of any authorization for the use of military force.

In doing so, the government would fund the cost of health care, disability, and other earned benefits for the service members it is sending to war and prevent them from being “treated as an afterthought.”

“The way I see it, this country has a sacred obligation to care for my fellow veterans after they risk it all and serve this country,” Deluzio said. “If our government cannot promise to pay for these veterans’ care, we should not send them off to war.”

Lieu added that authorizing military force is the “most consequential” decision Congress makes.

“We owe it to our brave men and women in uniform to ensure they are taken care of – during and after service,” he said.

The proposal comes as the pressure mounts to approve a deal that patches a $2.9 billion hole in the department’s budget. Without action, disability payments could be delayed in October, according to a report from The Military Times.

Roughly 16.2 million veterans live in the United States, according to federal data, of which nearly 30% receive disability benefits. The department’s budget has more than tripled over the last 20 years as an aging population and rising health care costs strain resources.

Report: Twice the Number of ICE Detainers Issued Under Trump Than Biden

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) – Twice the number of detainers were issued for criminal illegal aliens under the Trump administration than the Biden administration, according to a new analysis of federal data published by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse. The nonprofit data research center is affiliated with the Newhouse School of Public Communications and Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.

Detainers are issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, otherwise known as “immigration holds,” to apprehend and detain often violent individuals wanted for a crime in another country, arrested or convicted of one in the U.S., or placed in removal proceedings by a federal immigration judge.

Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris has long called for abolishing ICE, defunding ICE detention facilities, and defunding ICE agent positions. President Donald Trump has said he will expand ICE funding and implement a massive deportation strategy if elected.

TRAC’s report compares the latest detainer-by-detainer ICE records it received, which show that detainers climbed under the Biden-Harris administration since February 2023. The report fails to explain that the increase occurred after the U.S. Supreme Court dealt a major blow to Texas and Louisiana, which sued to block a deportation directive issued by U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. In 2021, he instructed ICE agents to stop arresting most illegal foreign nationals and only prioritize violent criminals. The Biden-Harris administration also reduced funding for ICE detention facilities and staff. After the ruling, ICE resumed identifying the most violent offenders for removal, DHS announced, prompting the numbers to climb.

ICE officials “have regularly issued more than 10,000 [detainers] each month,” the report states. From fiscal 2021 through the first quarter of fiscal 2024, the administration issued just under 300,000 detainers that were sent to 4,305 local law enforcement agencies.

Those in California received the most with more than 7,800. The report fails to mention that California’s sanctuary state law prohibits local law enforcement officials from cooperating with ICE agents, including ignoring detainer requests. California sheriffs argue this has increased crime that’s devasting communities and California has become “an open territory for the cartel to do whatever it wants.”

The next greatest number of detainers issued was in Texas, with the most in the country in Houston of more than 10,000. The report fails to mention that the Democratic leaders of Houston and Harris County have implemented sanctuary policies discouraging cooperation with ICE.

Phoenix, Arizona, received the third largest number of ICE detainers of more than 6,600, according to the report.

By contrast, under the Trump administration, 50% more ICE detainers were issued from fiscal 2017 to fiscal 2020, according to the data. Detainers were issued to roughly the same number of local law enforcement agencies. The report fails to explain that this number is relatively constant because the detainers are issued in major metropolitan areas, like Houston and Los Angeles, where large county jails and ICE offices are located.

Under the Trump administration, the most detainers were issued in Los Angeles of 20,318, followed by 19,289 in Houston and 17,294 in Phoenix. Twelve cities nationwide received 5,000 or more detainers; 25 received 3,000 or more under the Trump administration, according to the data.

The report also includes interactive maps to allow users to click on regions of the country to identify where ICE issued detainers under each administration. They can also access information about counties, states, local law enforcement agencies and the criminal foreign nationals for which detainers were issued.

The report notes that many detention facilities are located closer to the U.S.-Mexico border. Facilities in Edinburgh and Dilley, Texas, for example, hold the fourth and sixth largest number of criminal foreign nationals, respectively. Dilley is where a large state prison is located and Edinburgh is located near some of the largest U.S. Customs and Border Protection processing facilities in the country in the Rio Grande Valley. They are also located where Texas law enforcement officers are actively participating in Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s border security mission, Operation Lone Star, who regularly cooperate with ICE.

The majority of cities where double the number of detainers were issued under Trump compared to Biden are located in Texas, followed by California. The most were issued in Los Angeles, Houston, Phoenix, Dallas, Edinburg, Santa Ana, Calif., Lawrenceville, Ga., Miami, Las Vegas, San Antonio, Big Spring, Texas, Taft, Calif., Austin, Queens, Phillipsburg, Penn., Brooklyn, San Diego, Salt Lake City, Huntsville, San Francisco, Raleigh, Ventura, Calif., Dublin, Calif., Conroe, Texas, and Van Nuys, Calif.

Twenty-five towns also received more detainers under the Biden administration than Trump, according to the data. The report fails to explain that the top cities listed are located in Texas is because Abbott expanded state facilities there through OLS. They are located in Dilley, Del Rio, and El Paso, where The Center Square has visited. They are also located in other regions like Odessa and Forth Worth, whose sheriffs and local law enforcement are participating in OLS.

More than 100 Texas sheriffs, and hundreds of leaders of 55 Texas counties that declared an invasion, have expressed support for OLS. They’ve also urged the Biden-Harris administration to close the border and deport criminals they argue are wreaking havoc on their communities.

Americans May Foot $3.4B Bill for Haitian Benefits Under Biden-Harris

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) American taxpayers may soon be responsible for up to $3.4 billion in costs due to the Biden-Harris administration’s benefit program for Haitian nationals, a new study by the Daily Mail has found.

This staggering figure stems from the scandal-embroiled administration’s controversial CHNV program, which flies 30,000 Haitian nationals a month directly into the U.S.

These individuals immediately qualify for taxpayer-funded benefits such as Medicaid, food stamps and welfare—all sponsored by American tax dollars.

Roughly 520,000 foreign nationals have entered the U.S. between January 2023 and June 2024, the Mail reported. It is exclusively for Cubans, Nicaraguans, Haitians and Venezuelans.

The Mail broke down the potential $3.4 billion price tag under the assumption that every Haitian applies for and receives the assistance: $1.8 billion could be allocated to Medicaid, $451 million to food stamps and $1.2 billion to welfare assistance.

According to the Mail, taxpayers could still face an $850 million bill if only a quarter of Haitian nationals apply and receive the benefits.

The program has faced increasing scrutiny after it was revealed that many applicants submitted fraudulent information, including fake sponsors.

While DHS temporarily paused the program earlier this year, it was reinstated weeks later. Questions remain about whether the federal government would deport or prosecute individuals who falsified their applications.

As of June 2023, 98.3 percent of Haitian applicants were granted entry, according to the Mail‘s analysis of government data.

The outlet relied on information from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, the Department of Health & Human Services and a Medicaid Commission to compile the $3.4 billion bill.

Secret Service’s ‘Alarmingly Slipshod’ Strategy Exposed in New Report

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) An internal Secret Service investigation into the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump has uncovered major security lapses by the federal agency on July 13, according to unnamed government officials.

The probe found that the Secret Service recklessly neglected to direct local police to secure the roof from which Thomas Matthew Crooks nearly killed Trump, fatally shot Corey Comperatore and injured two other individuals. This is according to The Washington Post.

According to these individuals, “Secret Service headquarters and the Pittsburgh field office had an alarmingly slipshod strategy to block a potential shooter from having a clear sight of the Republican nominee for president at the July 13 rally in Butler, Pa.”

The investigation, dubbed Mission Assurance, uncovered that agents had discussed using heavy equipment and flags to block the view of the building and the Trump stage.

The plan was abandoned when supervisors noticed that the flags and the crane were used differently.

Other findings included claims that a Secret Service radio room had no access to real-time alerts from local police surveilling the rally.

As previously revealed, local police had noticed Crooks before he nearly killed Trump. However, their alerts were not “broadcast widely” on Secret Service radio.

Instead, local counter-snipers were ordered to send a photo of Crooks to a Secret Service official.

“Secret Service agents never heard local police radio traffic about trying to track down and then spotting that man after Trump began speaking,” the outlet reported.

The interim information also claimed that the Secret Service failed to increase protection for Trump following the announcement of his 2024 presidential campaign.

According to the Post, the full report is set to be released as soon as next week.

Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe briefed the Senate Homeland Security Committee and members of the House on Thursday.

He claimed he had ordered a new set of plans to avert another assassination attempt as the 2024 election nears.

Gay Reporter Responds to Loomer’s Account of Drunken Graham Exchange

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Tim Miller, the openly gay man at the center of a drunken exchange with Sen. Lindsey Graham, shared his perspective about what transpired in the spin room of the ABC News presidential debate on Tuesday.

Miller’s interaction with Graham sparked controversy after Laura Loomer accused the South Carolina senator of drunkenly attacking President Donald Trump while trying to impress the “first gay reporter” he encountered. Miller was this reporter.

Miller suggested Loomer might have distorted the facts. “First gay reporter?! Have I been invoked?” he commented Friday on X. “Not sure Lindsey was trying to impress me tbh but Laura’s never one to let the facts get in the way of a good story.”

Miller—a former GOP strategist and Never Trumper—expanded on the exchange in The Bulwark newsletter, where he curiously recounted that Graham was the Trump surrogate “most interested in engaging” with him in an “empty hallway.”

During their exchange, Miller recounted that Graham “leaned in, and with an exasperated grin” called Trump’s debate performance a “disaster.”

Graham then faced backlash from Republicans over his questionable, allegedly alcohol-fueled assessment of Trump’s debate performance.

Loomer was among the critics, accusing Graham of being disloyal to Trump and implying he might be secretly gay.

“Lindsey Graham got WASTED after the debate the other night and shit all over Donald Trump and his advisors because he was drunk and flapping his gums to the media,” she wrote on X.

“Lindsey Graham was drunk as a skunk and started blabbing trying to impress the first Gay reporter he could come across in the spin room,” Loomer added.

Graham had suggested Trump distance himself from Loomer due to her controversial comments about Kamala Harris, whom Loomer accused of potentially marring the White House with “curry” if elected. (X censured Loomer’s racist post).

Responding to Graham’s criticism, Loomer claimed, “Republicans attacking me are simply jealous that they were not on the plane with President Trump. That’s what it all boils down to.”

Anna Paulina Luna—a Veteran and New Mom—Doxxed by Opponent’s Backers

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., is accusing some of her opponent’s supporters of launching a vicious campaign that has put her family at risk of potential political violence.

Luna, a staunch conservative, veteran and a new mother, alleged that some individuals sent her threatening messages and leaked her home address.

“In an attempt to gain any form of attention, my ‘opponent,’ tried to label me as a threat to democracy,” Luna wrote on X.

“She then allowed her supporters on her campaign social media to publicly dox, coordinate, and solicit individuals to send threatening packages to my home address,” the Republican lawmaker added.

The Florida congresswoman did not directly accuse Democratic challenger Whitney Fox but pointed to a toxic environment fostered by vitriolic attacks.

Luna also posted a screenshot showing one of Fox’s supporters claiming to know where she lives. The comment read that if Luna was “hiding,” the individual knew “where she lives if anyone is interested in sending her a love letter or… something.” It added, “She dwells riiiiiight [sic] around the corner.”

Luna said the comment has been shared with law enforcement, including the FBI.

“I am, unfortunately, one of the top targeted members of Congress for violence. I have had threats made, things sent to my office, etc,” Luna continued, adding that violence is never acceptable.

While Luna did not name Fox in her post, Headline USA found several Facebook posts, in which Fox accused Luna of “hiding” from her debate challenges.

“It’s been a week and Anna Paulina Luna is still hiding from my debate challenge,” Fox wrote on Sept. 12 via Facebook, also sharing a video of herself.

Luna was first elected in the 2022 midterms, flipping a predominantly Democratic district previously held by Charlie Crist, who resigned to run for governor in a failed bid that same year.
