Tlaib Slams Alleged Israeli Pager Attack on Hezbollah Terrorists as ‘Disgusting’

(Headline USA) Rep. Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., slammed an alleged Israeli operation this week targeting Hezbollah terrorists by detonating their pager devices as “disgusting,” according to Townhall.

Thousands of Iran-back Hezbollah militants were injured after the pagers they carried “nearly simultaneously” exploded in Lebanon and Syria.

Israel made no formal acknowledgement of the sophisticated attack but reportedly alerted U.S. officials in advance, according to the Associated Press.

In order to carry it out, explosives were hidden in the Taiwanese-made pagers, according to the New York Times.

Tlaib, one of the most virulently anti-Semitic leftists in Congress, offered her one-word response after the news of the operation broke: “Disgusting.”

Given her continued opposition to Israel, Tlaib’s reaction wasn’t all that surprising, according to one user.

“You taking the side of Hezbollah members is the least surprising news maybe ever,” the commenter wrote.

“We’re very sorry that your loved ones in Hezbollah will not be able to reproduce,” another X user quipped, alluding to the nature of the injuries for those who were carrying the devices in their pockets. “We promise not to call them nutcases or have a ball celebrating their lack thereof.”

Fellow “Squad” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio–Cortez, D-N.Y., also condemned the attack on Hezbollah, accusing Israel of violating international law by injuring nearby civilians.

“Israel’s pager attack in Lebanon detonated thousands of handheld devices across of a slew of public spaces, seriously injuring and killing innocent civilians,” she wrote on X.

“This attack clearly and unequivocally violates international humanitarian law and undermines US efforts to prevent a wider conflict,” she added. “Congress needs a full accounting of the attack, including an answer from the State Department as to whether any US assistance went into the development or deployment of this technology.”

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., also joined in the condemnation of Israel, saying he would be introducing legislation to “stop the sale of U.S. arms to Israel and end our complicity in this disaster.”

Hezbollah vowed revenge for the pager explosions, warning Israel would face a “reckoning” for the “massacre” of Hezbollah’s terrorists.

Poll Shows Taylor Swift’s Endorsement of Kamala Harris Has Little Impact

(Maire Clayton, Headline USA) Pop star Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris doesn’t appear to be swaying voters, according to a recent poll.

An ABC News/Ipsos poll conducted from Sept. 11 to 13 revealed 81% of respondents said Swift’s support of Harris made no difference regarding their potential vote for the upcoming presidential election.

Only 6% said they were now more likely to cast a vote for Harris, while an additional 13% were now less likely to vote for the Democrat nominee.

The poll consisted of 3,276 respondents with a margin of error of 2 points.

Immediately following last week’s debate between former President Donald Trump and Harris, Swift decided to publicly throw her support behind the vice president in a lengthy Instagram post—a move that some suspected had been staged in advance to neutralize any Trump publicity.

A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift)

“I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice,” Swift wrote. “Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.”

While Swift’s endorsement did not appear to be translating to the polls, CBS News reported over 400,000 visitors went to Vote.org after the self-proclaimed “Childless Cat Lady” shared the post.

However, a representative for the agency that runs Vote.org told CBS visitors cannot register to vote through the site. Therefore, it remains unclear how many potential voters actually registered.

Trump told told Fox News’s Fox & Friends he was not surprised by Swift’s political preference.

“She’s a very liberal person,” he said.

“She seems to always endorse a Democrat,” Trump added. “And she will probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”

The Shake it Off singer previously showed her support for President Joe Biden in the 2020 election by posing with a platter of cookies.

Trump later took to his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday to make his thoughts on Swift crystal clear.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Trump wrote.

However, some cautioned that Trump, too, could pay a political price for inviting the wrath of the singer’s ultra-loyal “Swifties.”

MSNBC Guest: Kamala Can End Putin Aggression by ‘Inspiring’ Him w/ Her Ethnic Diversity

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) MSNBC continued proving to the whole world, in general, and Americans, in particular, that they are the propaganda outlet that spreads the talking points of the Democratic Party.

One of the latest talking points became the idea that Kamala Harris, the current presidential nominee of the Democratic Party, would become an inspiration to the leaders of the entire world, which includes the dictators in countries like China, North Korea, Iran and Russia.

On Sept. 17, 2024, Nicolle Wallace invited retired U.S. Army Brigadier Steven Anderson to her show to discuss how Harris would be so much better at making the world a safe place again than Donald Trump.

“Kamala Harris would be just the opposite [to Trump]. Why? Because she is an inspiration. Not only is she positive, that she brings hope and optimism, but, as a black woman, the product of the mixed marriage, she will inspire millions of people throughout the world,” Anderson said.

He then said that if Americans voted for Harris, the entire world would see the United States as a progressive and open-minded country that other nations aspire to be.

“That is gonna send a powerful message all over the world,” Anderson said.

However, Anderson’s short monologue became viral only after he said that Harris would be able to finish the war between Russia and Ukraine simply by being a black woman elected as the country’s leader.

“People like Vladimir Putin are gonna say, ‘Hey, wait a minute. These guys truly have a democratic country. They truly are representative. They truly are fighting for all of their people, and Kamala Harris is the manifestation of that,'” he said.

Even Wallace couldn’t hide being shocked at Anderson’s comments by saying, “Wow.”

Moshe Hill, a political columnist for various news sources, such as the Daily Wire, responded to Anderson’s latest remarks.

“How can he clearly speak when his head is so far up Kamala’s ass?” Hill wrote.

Other people in the comments section also joked about Putin being “inspired” back in 2022 when he invaded Ukraine after seeing the disastrous withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan.

Harvey Weinstein Hit w/ New Sex-Crime Charge in New York from Mystery Accuser

0

(Headline USA) Former Democrat megadonor and Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein pleaded not guilty Wednesday to a new sex-crime charge in New York, as he awaits retrial in his landmark #MeToo case.

A new indictment charged the jailed ex-movie mogul with committing a criminal sex act, accusing him of forcing oral sex on a woman at some point between April 29, 2006, and May 6 of that year.

Weinstein has long maintained that he never engaged in any sexual activity that wasn’t consensual.

No details about the new accuser were released.

“Thanks to this survivor who bravely came forward, Harvey Weinstein now stands indicted for an additional alleged violent sexual assault,” Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said in a statement. The Democrat added that the investigation continues.

Weinstein lawyer Arthur Aidala said he had “absolutely no clue” about the accuser’s identity or the specifics of the allegation.

“We have a lot of work to do. We have to find out who that person is. We have to do an investigation,” he said outside court.

Weinstein “never forced himself on anyone,” the attorney said.

The 72-year-old Weinstein, who is recovering from emergency surgery, came to court in a wheelchair, carrying two novels with him. He appeared to watch the proceeding intently.

Prosecutors revealed last week that Weinstein had been indicted on additional sex crime charges that weren’t part of the case that led to his now-overturned 2020 conviction. But the new indictment was sealed until his arraignment.

Prosecutors have said that the grand jury heard evidence of up to three alleged assaults—two in hotels in the Tribeca neighborhood and one at a lower Manhattan residential building. The purported incidents took place from the mid-2000s to 2016, prosecutors said.

It’s not clear whether those include the allegation that underlies the new indictment, nor what the grand jury made of what it heard about any claims beyond the one the indictment describes.

Aidala said Weinstein was “somewhat relieved” to find only one charge on the new indictment.

While bracing for the new charges, Weinstein also is awaiting retrial after New York state’s highest court this spring overturned his 2020 conviction on rape and criminal sex act charges involving two women. The high court, called the Court of Appeals, ordered a new trial.

It has been tentatively scheduled to begin Nov. 12, though it’s likely to be delayed. Judge Curtis Farber set an Oct. 2 hearing to discuss scheduling.

Aidala said Weinstein wants to go to trial as soon as possible, but his defense team didn’t want to rush its work on addressing the new charge.

The Court of Appeals ruled that the then-trial judge unfairly allowed testimony based on allegations that were not part of the case. That judge’s term expired in 2022, and he is no longer on the bench.

Prosecutors want to fold the new charges into the retrial, but Weinstein’s lawyers say it should be a separate case. Farber plans to rule Oct. 2 on that issue.

Weinstein, who also was convicted in 2022 in a Los Angeles rape case, remains behind bars while awaiting his New York retrial.

Weinstein has been at a Manhattan hospital following emergency surgery Sept. 9 to drain fluid around his heart and lungs. He takes as many as 19 different medications for his various health ailments, Aidala said.

A judge agreed last week to let Weinstein remain indefinitely in the prison ward at Bellevue Hospital instead of being transferred back to the infirmary ward at New York’s Rikers Island jail complex.

Once one of the most powerful people in Hollywood, Weinstein co-founded the film and television production companies Miramax and The Weinstein Company and produced films such as Shakespeare in Love and The Crying Game.

The #MeToo reckoning came about in 2017 largely as a leftist reaction to the election of Donald Trump, which shocked many Hillary Clinton supporters who believed a damning Access Hollywood tape of Trump allegedly boasting about his consensual sexual dalliances would prove devastating to his campaign.

Instead, many pointed to Clinton’s longtime support of figures like Weinstein and her decision to stand behind her own husband’s multiple affairs, arguing that any indignation on her part was, at best, disingenuous.

The scandal—which Trump maintained was simply “locker room talk” proved to be more of a liability to his political opponent but left Democrats determined to clean house in order to focus on a “get Trump” lawfare strategy, which Bragg was able to fulfill earlier this year in a highly questionable case that took immense liberalities with the rule of law.

CIA Serial Rapist Sentenced to 30 Years Imprisonment

(Headline USA) A longtime CIA officer who drugged, photographed and sexually assaulted more than two dozen women in postings around the world was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison Wednesday after an emotional hearing in which victims described being deceived by a man who appeared kind, educated and part of an agency “that is supposed to protect the world from evil.”

Brian Jeffrey Raymond, with a graying beard and orange prison jumpsuit, sat dejectedly as he heard his punishment for one of the most egregious misconduct cases in the CIA’s history. It was chronicled in his own library of more than 500 images that showed him in some cases straddling and groping his nude, unconscious victims.

“It’s safe to say he’s a sexual predator,” U.S. Senior Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly said in imposing the full sentence prosecutors had requested. “You are going to have a period of time to think about this.”

Prosecutors say the 48-year-old Raymond’s assaults date to 2006 and tracked his career in Mexico, Peru and other countries, all following a similar pattern:

He would lure women he met on Tinder and other dating apps to his government-leased apartment and drug them while serving wine and snacks. Once they were unconscious, he spent hours posing their naked bodies before photographing and assaulting them. He opened their eyelids at times and stuck his fingers in their mouths.

One by one, about a dozen of Raymond’s victims who were identified only by numbers in court recounted how the longtime spy upended their lives. Some said they only learned what happened after the FBI showed them the photos of being assaulted while unconscious.

“My body looks like a corpse on his bed,” one victim said of the photos. “Now I have these nightmares of seeing myself dead.”

One described suffering a nervous breakdown. Another spoke of a recurring trance that caused her to run red lights while driving. Many told how their confidence and trust in others had been shattered forever.

“I hope he is haunted by the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life,” said one of the women, who like others stared Raymond down as they walked away from the podium.

Reading from a statement, Raymond told the judge that he has spent countless hours contemplating his “downward spiral.”

“It betrayed everything I stand for and I know no apology will ever be enough,” he said. “There are no words to describe how sorry I am. That’s not who I am and yet it’s who I became.”

Raymond’s sentencing comes amid a reckoning on sexual misconduct at the CIA. The Associated Press reported last week that another veteran CIA officer faces state charges in Virginia for allegedly reaching up a co-worker’s skirt and forcibly kissing her during a drunken party in the office.

Still another former CIA employee — an officer trainee — is scheduled to face a jury trial next month on charges he assaulted a woman with a scarf in a stairwell at the agency’s Langley, Virginia, headquarters. That case emboldened some two dozen women to come forward to authorities and Congress with accounts of their own of sexual assaults, unwanted touching and what they contend are the CIA’s efforts to silence them.

And yet the full extent of sexual misconduct at the CIA remains a classified secret in the name of national security, including a recent 648-page internal watchdog report that found systemic shortcomings in the agency’s handling of such complaints.

“The classified nature of the activities allowed the agency to hide a lot of things,” said Liza Mundy, author of “Sisterhood: The Secret History of Women at the CIA.” The male-dominated agency, she said, has long been a refuge for egregious sexual misconduct. “For decades, men at the top had free rein.”

CIA has publicly condemned Raymond’s crimes and implemented sweeping reforms intended to keep women safe, streamline claims and more quickly discipline offenders.

But a veil of secrecy still surrounds the Raymond case nearly four years after his arrest. Even after Raymond pleaded guilty late last year, prosecutors have tiptoed around the exact nature of his work and declined to disclose a complete list of the countries where he assaulted women.

Still, they offered an unbridled account of Raymond’s conduct, describing him as a “serial offender” whose assaults increased over time and become “almost frenetic” during his final CIA posting in Mexico City, where he was discovered in 2020 after a naked woman screamed for help from his apartment balcony.

U.S. officials scoured Raymond’s electronic devices and began identifying the victims he had listed by name and physical characteristics, all of whom described experiencing some form of memory loss during their time with him.

One victim said Raymond seemed like a “perfect gentleman” when they met in Mexico in 2020, recalling only that they kissed. Unbeknownst to the woman, after she blacked out, he took 35 videos and close-up photos of her breasts and genitals.

“The defendant’s manipulation often resulted in women blaming themselves for losing consciousness, feeling ashamed, and apologizing to the defendant,” prosecutors wrote in a court filing. “He was more than willing to gaslight the women, often suggesting that the women drank too much and that, despite their instincts to the contrary, nothing had happened.”

Raymond, a San Diego native and former White House intern who is fluent in Spanish and Mandarin, ultimately pleaded guilty to four of 25 federal counts including sexual abuse, coercion and transportation of obscene material. As part of his sentence, the judge ordered him to pay $10,000 to each of his 28 victims.

Raymond’s attorneys had sought leniency, contending his “quasi-military” work at the CIA in the years following 9/11 became a breeding ground for the emotional callousness and “objectification of other people” that enabled his years of preying upon women.

“While he was working tirelessly at his government job, he ignored his own need for help, and over time he began to isolate himself, detach himself from human feelings and become emotionally numb,” defense attorney Howard Katzoff wrote in a court filing.

“He was an invaluable government worker, but it took its toll on him and sent him down a dark path.”

Man Who Inspired FBI’s Controversial Memo Targeting Catholics Renounces Christianity

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The man who inspired the FBI’s controversial report on “radical-traditionalist Catholics” told a judge earlier this month that he’s renounced his Christianity.

That man, Xavier Lopez, is set to be sentenced for terrorism-related offenses, which stem from agents finding Molotov cocktail-type devices in his home in 2022.

As Headline USA has detailed, Lopez was on law enforcement’s radar since September 2018, when he attempted suicide. Lopez was 18 years old at the time. The FBI opened an assessment into Lopez about a year later after he allegedly made online statements advocating civil war and the murder of politicians.

Law enforcement continued to monitor Lopez—including while he served a stint in jail for felony vandalism—into early 2022, when he began attending Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Chapel in Richmond, Virginia.

Shortly after Lopez started attending Our Lady of Fatima, the FBI decided to run an informant at him inside the church. The FBI later expressed concerns to the DOJ Inspector General that Lopez may have been recruiting other Lady of Fatima members to carry out an attack—though that turned out not to be the case.

After his arrest, an FBI analyst with knowledge of the investigation worked with another analyst to craft the FBI’s memo about Catholics. That memo would be leaked in early 2023, and would dominate the conservative news cycle for much of the year.

FBI Director Chris Wray has since apologized for the report, which received heavy criticism from GOP lawmakers for—among numerous other reasons—underpinning its findings with information from the discredited Southern Poverty Law Center.

Meanwhile, the man who inspired the entire fiasco, Lopez, is no longer Catholic, he said earlier this month.

“I’m no longer a Christian of any kind, and will never be again for the rest of the days I shall live,” former trad Cath Xavier Lopez told a federal judge in a Sept. 6 motion to remove his attorney.

In that motion, Lopez also expressed a willingness to renounce his American citizenship and leave the country altogether.

Lopez was set to be sentenced on Sept. 27, but the judge said last week that he will instead discuss the defendant’s motion to remove his attorney.

Lopez’s current attorney replaced his federal public defender, who said in a memo last year that his client may suffer from schizophrenia.

Whistleblower Leaks Parts of Secret Service Ops Plan for Deadly Butler Trump Rally

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The Secret Service still hasn’t provided its operations plan to Congress, but a whistleblower has apparently released parts of that plan to Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.

Grassley released the whistleblower disclosures in a Tuesday letter to Secret Service Acting Director Ronald Rowe. “These records appear to be from a larger Secret Service operational plan for the July 13 event,” the senator told Rowe.

Grassley’s whistleblower disclosures included the Secret Service’s list of where the snipers were to be stationed for the Butler rally. That list shows that local snipers were designated to be inside the AGR Building used by Thomas Crooks as a perch to shoot at Trump—seemingly contradicting other reports that the locals were supposed to be on the rooftop, but abandoned it because of the hot weather.

However, the Secret Service list released by Grassley appears to have inaccurate information. For instance, it says that Butler snipers were stationed inside the “Horse Stadium Announcer Box.” In fact, it was Washington County snipers who were on top of that structure, which was southwest to Trump.

Grassley asked Rowe whether the Secret Service list is a true and accurate representation of the agency’s security plans for Butler, and whether other documents exist that provide further context.

Along with the Secret Service sniper list, Grassley also released a list showing that 22 “post standers” were assigned to the Butler rally, 16 of which came from different federal agencies. Post standers are agents who arrived several hours before Trump’s personal protection detail to sweep the venue, and who then remain at their posts for the duration of the event.

Grassley asked Rowe whether the post-standers list was accurate, too. That question was seemingly answered during a Wednesday congressional hearing by Katrina Berger, who heads Homeland Security Investigations, the lead investigative organ of DHS. Berger told lawmakers that the 16 post standers at the Butler rally came from her agency.

Still, Grassley demands answers from Rowe, who has apparently been stonewalling him—despite earlier promises for full transparency.

“I strongly urge that you follow through on the commitment you made to me to ‘provide information to Congress as it carries out its oversight function,’ as I carry out my constitutional oversight duty,” he told Rowe.

“Accordingly, in addition to providing responsive records that I requested in my prior letters, provide answers and a responsive production of records to this letter no later than September 24.”

UN Decries Worsening Repression in Socialist Venezuela after Dubious Election Result

(Headline USA) Independent U.N. human rights experts said in a new report Tuesday that their findings show Venezuela’s socialist government has intensified the use of “harshest and most violent” tools of repression following the disputed July presidential election.

The official results of the July 28 vote have been widely criticized as undemocratic, opaque and aimed to maintain President Nicolás Maduro in power.

The fact-finding mission on Venezuela, commissioned by the U.N.-backed Human Rights Council, denounced rights violations including arbitrary detentions, torture, and sexual and gender-based violence by the country’s security forces that “taken as a whole, constitute the crime against humanity of persecution on political grounds,” according to its report.

“During the period covered by this report, and especially after the presidential election of July 28, 2024, the state reactivated and intensified the harshest and most violent mechanisms of its repressive apparatus,” said the experts in the report, which covered a one-year period through Aug. 31.

The findings echo concerns from U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Human Rights Watch, and others about Venezuela and its democracy, including repression before and after the highly anticipated vote and the subsequent flight into exile of Venezuela’s opposition leader Edmundo González.

Ironically, the U.N. has yet to condemn similar patters of repression by the Biden administration in the aftermath of the 2020 election in the U.S., including the political persecution of many peaceful political dissidents who demonstrated in and around the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

The Biden Justice Department has cracked down severely on its ideological opponents and political rivals as part of a two-tiered justice policy—most notably including former President Donald Trump himself, the victim of repeated lawfare attacks and dangerous rhetorical polemic that has resulted in two known assassination attempts.

THhe DOJ boasts of having charged more than 1,500 individuals related to the Jan. 6 uprising and is continuing to aggressively pursue its investigation, at a running price tag of nearly $3 billion.

Similar crackdowns occurred after popular uprisings in Brazil following a 2022 election that saw former leftist President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva unseat incumbent Jair Bolsonaro with a significant assist from the court system and, according to some, the American CIA.

Likewise, some have questioned the recent outcome of British and French parliamentary snap elections that saw leftist sweeps despite early projections of right-wing victories, with civil unrest linked to concerns about unmitigated open-borders immigration becoming a major component in both.

No such concerns about immigration exist in Venezuela, where many of the existing residents are currently fleeing to the U.S. to seek asylum status for both political and economic reasons.

Between July 29 and Aug. 6, Venezuelan authorities acknowledged they arrested more than 2,200 people, according to Marta Valiñas, head of the experts team.

“Of these, we have confirmed the arrest of at least 158 children—some with disabilities,” Valiñas told reporters at a news conference Tuesday in Geneva, noting that some had been accused of serious crimes, such as terrorism.

“This phenomenon is something new and extremely worrying,” she said. “We are facing a systematic, coordinated and deliberate repression by the Venezuelan government which responds to a conscious plan to silence any form of dissent.”

Venezuela’s National Electoral Council, which is stacked with Maduro loyalists, said he won the election with 52% of the vote. But opposition supporters collected tally sheets from 80% of the nation’s electronic voting machines, and said that indicated González had won the election—with twice as many votes as Maduro.

Global condemnation over the lack of transparency prompted Maduro to ask Venezuela’s Supreme Tribunal of Justice, whose members are aligned with the ruling party, to audit the results. The high court reaffirmed his victory.

The independent experts, who do not represent the United Nations, comprise a fact-finding mission created in 2019. They have been reporting on rights violations—including alleged crimes against humanity—in Maduro’s Venezuela for years. This report, the fifth of its kind, decried the government’s efforts to crush peaceful opposition to its rule.

The justice system—led by the Supreme Tribunal—“is clearly subordinated” to the interests of Maduro and his close allies and served as a “key instrument in its plan to repress all forms of political and social opposition,” they wrote.

In the hours after Maduro was declared the winner, thousands of people took to the streets across Venezuela. The protests were largely peaceful, but demonstrators also toppled statues of Maduro’s predecessor, the late Hugo Chávez, threw rocks at law enforcement officers and buildings, and burned police motorcycles and government propaganda.

Maduro’s government responded to the demonstrations with full force, carrying out arbitrary detentions, prosecutions as well as a campaign that encourages people to report relatives, neighbors and other acquaintances who participated in the protests or cast doubt on the results.

Patricia Tappatá Valdez, a member of the expert team, said it had verified that at least 143 arrests involved members of seven opposition parties, including 66 leaders of political movements.

“Politically motivated persecution is evident,” she said. “These figures represent a level of repression that we have not seen since 2019.”

The independent experts said they compiled the report through interviews with 383 people and reviews of court case files and other documents while also acknowledging limits to their information-gathering in the post-election period.

The experts said their requests for information from Venezuelan authorities were “ignored” despite appeals for cooperation from the rights council, which is made up of a rotating membership among 47 U.N. member countries.

Police Detain Suspicious Person w/ Bomb-Sniffing Dog Near N.Y. Trump Rally Site

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said Wednesday that police questioned and detained a person who “may have been training a bomb detection dog,” near former President Donald Trump’s planned rally Wednesday in New York.

That person apparently told OANN reporter James Lalino that explosives were found near the Trump rally site. Police said rumors of explosives being found are false.

“Sources in the Nassau County Police Department just told me that ‘the perimeter was breached and a blue barrel was removed’ from the area surrounding tonight’s Trump rally site,” Lalino said Wednesday on Twitter/X, setting off a media firestorm.

“Source said ‘During K9, doing their checks, they found an explosive device in one of the vehicles and that driver ended up running into the woods. No one saw if he had anything on him, they just saw him take off running. A lot of cars are now parking, they’re lining up on Hempstead Turnpike, just parking on the grass. Even over at Eisenhower Park, they’re just parking over there.’”

Lt. Scott Skrynecki, a spokesperson for the county police, said that the person, who police have not yet identified, was a civilian and not a member of a law enforcement agency.

He also said the person was not working at or affiliated with the event, which is expected to draw thousands of Trump supporters to the arena that was formerly the home of the NHL’s New York Islanders.

Additionally, a public information officer told Newsweek that “We did respond to a suspicious occurrence in the vicinity of the Nassau Coliseum, however there was no validity of an explosive device being found … We’re unsure where this information originated, but we can confirm that no explosives were discovered.”

With two assassination attempts against Trump happening in nearly as many of months, observers couldn’t help but wonder whether the “false reports” of bombs near Wednesday’s rally were, in fact, yet another assassination attempt.

“If you look into historically suspicious events, you’ll see a pattern in which there is some kind of training exercise or drill whose subject matter almost exactly overlaps with the real life thing that allegedly happens,” noted Revolver News’s Darren Beattie.

“This allows for plausible deniability when feds are caught—it was just confusion from the exercise I’m not saying that this is what’s happened here, but its interesting to point out this pattern,” Beattie explained.

DHS Official Defends Decision Not to Pursue 2nd Failed Trump Assassin in 2023

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Top Homeland Security official Katrina Berger on Wednesday defended her agency’s decision not to pursue leads last year on Ryan Routh, the man who allegedly tried to assassinate Donald Trump on Sunday at his West Palm Beach golf course.

“Based on information I read, there wouldn’t be any reason to take him immediately into custody. He didn’t make threats to the President or the former President, for instance,” said Berger, who heads Homeland Security Investigations, the lead investigative organ of DHS.

Speaking at Wednesday’s House Judiciary Committee hearing, Berger was responding to a Just the News report that Customs and Border Protection officials flagged Routh as he returned from Ukraine last year—but that DHS declined to pursue the matter further.

According to Just the News, CBP interviewed Routh, who told them that he had been recruiting as many as 100 foreign fighters from Taiwan, Afghanistan and Moldova to join Ukraine’s war against Russia.

“Subject stated that he does not get paid for his recruiting efforts and all his work for the Ukrainian government is strictly volunteer work Subject provided his recruiting business card (cards have been uploaded into the event) which list his recruiting partners that he speaks with to recruit soldiers from Afghanistan, Romanian, Pakistan, Syria, and Israel,” the CBP interview notes of Routh state, according to Just the News.

“Subject stated that he obtains money from his wife to help fund his trips to Ukraine.”

The memo reportedly added that “HSI was contacted and refused the case.”

While Berger said her agency didn’t have enough info to detain Routh, that wasn’t a satisfactory answer for Rep. Matt Gaetz. The Florida congressman asked if HSI opened an investigation into Routh after receiving the Customs report. Berger said she didn’t know.

Gaetz then asked whether it’s illegal for Americans to recruit fighters for foreign militaries. Berger again said she didn’t know.

Gaetz told Berger it’s crucial to understand whether HSI had an ongoing investigation into Routh at the time of his assassination attempt. Berger agreed to provide him with that info.
