Beyoncé’s Childhood Home in Houston Burns on Christmas Morning

(Headline USA) In April 2019, a fire gutted the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, causing untold damage in a catastrophe deemed one of the worst cultural losses claimed by conflagration in modern memory.

Until now.

Beyoncé’s childhood home caught fire early on Christmas morning, though the family living there escaped safely.

The fire was reported at about 2 a.m. Monday and the Houston Fire Department arrived on the scene of the two-story brick house within three to five minutes, the Houston Chronicle reported.

“We had it contained in about 10 minutes,” Houston Fire Department District Chief Justin Barnes told the newspaper.

Beyoncé Knowles’s family bought the home on the 2400 block of Rosedale in 1982 and Beyoncé lived there until she was 5 years old.

The R&B superstar was seen taking photos of the property when she was in her hometown for her Renaissance World Tour.

The home in the historic Riverside Terrace neighborhood was built in 1946.

A messages sent to Beyoncé’s publicist was not immediately returned late Monday.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.

Obama Judge Rejects O’Keefe’s 1st Amendment Claim in Blow to Press Freedoms

(Headline USA) If the parties were switched, and the outlet were the New York Times against any Republican administration, the scandalous Justice Department raid on Project Veritas would undoubtedly have resulted in a case on par with Daniel Ellsberg’s landmark fight to leak the Pentagon Papers during the Nixon administration.

The conservative group obtained an abandoned diary, confirmed to be that of President Joe Biden’s daughter Ashley, which she left in a halfway house while recovering from drug addiction.

In it, she confessed to her own hypersexualized nature and blamed her father, in part, for things such as “inappropriate” showers that the two took together when she was an older child.

Criminal prosecutors may soon get to see over 900 documents pertaining to the diary after a far-left Manhattan judge appointed by former President Barack Obama rejected the First Amendment claim from the conservative group and its former leader, James O’Keefe.

Attorney Jeffrey Lichtman said on behalf of the nonprofit Monday that attorneys are considering appealing last Thursday’s ruling by U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres in Manhattan. In the written decision, the judge said the documents can be given to investigators by Jan. 5.

The documents were produced from raids that were authorized in November 2021. Electronic devices were also seized from the residences of three members of Project Veritas—including two mobile phones from the home of O’Keefe, the group’s founder, who subsequently parted ways with it for unrelated reasons amid questions over the finances.

Project Veritas, founded in 2010, is best known for conducting hidden camera stings that have embarrassed left-leaning news outlets, labor organizations and Democratic politicians.

Lawyers for Project Veritas and O’Keefe said the government’s investigation “seems undertaken not to vindicate any real interests of justice, but rather to stifle the press from investigating the President’s family” in written arguments.

“It is impossible to imagine the government investigating an abandoned diary (or perhaps the other belongings left behind with it), had the diary not been written by someone with the last name ‘Biden,’” they added.

The judge rejected the First Amendment arguments, claiming in the ruling that they were “inconsistent with Supreme Court precedent.”

Torres also ruled that Project Veritas could not say it was protecting the identity of a confidential source from public disclosure after two individuals publicly pleaded guilty in the case.

She was referencing the August 2022 guilty pleas of Aimee Harris and Robert Kurlander to conspiracy to commit interstate transportation of stolen property. Both await sentencing.

The pleas came two years after Harris and Kurlander—two Florida residents who are not employed by Project Veritas—discovered items including a diary at a Delray Beach, Florida, house.

They said they initially hoped to sell some of the stolen property to then-President Donald Trump’s campaign, but a representative turned them down and told them to take the material to the FBI, prosecutors say.

Project Veritas subsequently released audio of Ashley Biden herself calling in an effort to reclaim the items, thereby confirming that they belonged to her.

Eventually, Project Veritas paid the pair $20,000 apiece to deliver the diary containing “highly personal entries,” a digital storage card with private family photos, tax documents, clothes and luggage to New York, prosecutors said.

Project Veritas was not charged with any crime. The group has said its activities were newsgathering and were ethical and legal.

Lichtman said in an email on behalf of Project Veritas and the people whose residences were raided: “As for the continued investigation, the government isn’t seeking any prison time for either defendant who claims to have stolen the Ashley Biden diary, which speaks volumes in our minds.”

Biden Escalates Possible War w/ Iran and Iraq after Drone Strikes

(Headline USA) Despite having recently granted Iran access to billions of dollars in frozen funding to use in its terrorist efforts, President Joe Biden appeared to be on the verge of an all-out war with the rogue Islamic regime, declaring an airstrike after a day when most Americans were focused on peace on Earth and goodwill toward men.

Such a war would be likely to shift the discourse in a political campaign potentially focused on Biden’s looming impeachment hearings and the trials of his son Hunter in both Delaware and California.

The president’s numbers have been cratering with few Americans buying his attempts to gaslight the public over the current economic conditions, which remain worse than when he assumed office and substantially worse than the pre-COVID Trump economy.

A new war on international terrorism is also likely to draw greater focus on the U.S. southern border crisis, just as one of the largest migrant caravans yet, with some 10,000 would-be illegals, prepares to invade.

After three years of maintaining a de-facto open border, Biden has recently relented on the possibility of imposing some limits on the unfettered scourge of illegal immigration, which has caused even some blue-run cities and states to sour on him.

Biden ordered the United States military to carry out retaliatory airstrikes against Iranian-backed militia groups after three U.S. service members were injured in a drone attack in northern Iraq.

National Security Council spokesperson Adrienne Watson said one of the U.S. troops suffered critical injuries in the attack that occurred earlier Monday.

The Iranian-backed militia Kataib Hezbollah and affiliated groups, under an umbrella of Iranian-backed militants, claimed credit for the attack that utilized a one-way attack drone.

Iraqi officials said U.S. strikes targeting militia sites early Tuesday killed one militant and injured 18. They came at a time of heightened fears of a regional spillover of the Israel-Hamas war.

Iran announced Monday that an Israeli strike on the outskirts of the Syrian capital of Damascus killed one of its top generals, Razi Mousavi, who had been a close companion of Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the former head of Iran’s elite Quds Force. Soleimani was eliminated by the prior Trump administration in a U.S. drone strike in Iraq in January 2020.

Iranian officials vowed revenge for the killing of Mousavi but did not immediately launch a retaliatory strike. The militia attack Monday in northern Iraq was launched prior to the strike in Syria that killed Mousavi.

Biden, who was spending Christmas at the presidential retreat at Camp David, Maryland, was alerted about the attack by White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan shortly after it occurred Monday and ordered the Pentagon and his top national security aides to prepare response options to the attack on an air base used by American troops in Irbil.

Sullivan consulted with Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin. Biden’s deputy national security adviser, Jon Finer, was with the president at Camp David and convened top aides to review options, according to a U.S. official, who was not authorized to comment publicly and requested anonymity.

Within hours, Biden convened his national security team for a call in which Austin and Gen. CQ Brown, chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, briefed Biden on the response options. Biden opted to target three locations used by Kataib Hezbollah and affiliated groups, the official said.

The U.S. strikes were carried out at about 4:45 a.m. Tuesday in Iraq, less than 13 hours after the U.S. personnel were attacked. According to U.S. Central Command, the retaliatory strikes on the three sites “destroyed the targeted facilities and likely killed a number of Kataib Hezbollah militants.”

“The President places no higher priority than the protection of American personnel serving in harm’s way,” Watson said. “The United States will act at a time and in a manner of our choosing should these attacks continue.”

The latest attack on U.S. troops follows months of escalating threats and actions against American forces in the region since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel that sparked the devastating war in Gaza.

The dangerous back-and-forth strikes have escalated since Iranian-backed militant groups under the umbrella group called the Islamic Resistance in Iraq and Syria began striking U.S. facilities Oct. 17, the date that a blast at a hospital in Gaza killed hundreds.

Iranian-backed militias have carried out more than 100 attacks on U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria since the start of the Israel-Hamas war more than two months ago.

In November, U.S. fighter jets struck a Kataib Hezbollah operations center and command and control node, following a short-range ballistic missile attack on U.S. forces at Al-Assad Air Base in western Iraq. Iranian-backed militias also carried out a drone attack at the same air base in October, causing minor injuries.

The U.S. has also blamed Iran, which has funded and trained Hamas, for attacks by Yemen’s Houthi militants against commercial and military vessels through a critical shipping choke point in the Red Sea.

The U.S. has thousands of troops in Iraq training Iraqi forces and combating remnants of the Islamic State group, and hundreds in Syria, mostly on the counter-IS mission. They have come under dozens of attacks, though as yet none fatal, since the war began on Oct. 7, with the U.S. attributing responsibility to Iran-backed groups.

“While we do not seek to escalate conflict in the region, we are committed and fully prepared to take further necessary measures to protect our people and our facilities,” Austin said in a statement.

The clashes put the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in a delicate position. He came to power in 2022 with the backing of a coalition of Iranian-backed parties, some of which are associated with the same militias launching the attacks on U.S. bases.

A group of Iranian-backed militias known as the Popular Mobilization Forces were key in the fight against Islamic State militants after the extremist group overran much of Iraq in 2014. The PMF is officially under the command of the Iraqi army, but in practice the militias operate independently.

In a statement Tuesday, Sudani condemned both the militia attack in Irbil and the U.S. response.

Attacks on “foreign diplomatic mission headquarters and sites hosting military advisors from friendly nations … infringe upon Iraq’s sovereignty and are deemed unacceptable under any circumstances,” the statement said.

However, it added that that the retaliatory strikes by the U.S. on “Iraqi military sites”—referring to the militia—“constitute a clear hostile act.”

Sudani said some of those injured in the strikes were civilians.

Worse than ‘Breakfast Tacos’? Dem. Gov. Torched after Cringe ‘Feliz Navidad’ Video

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Gov. Jared Polis, D-Colo., went viral on Twitter after releasing an unusual rendition of the Spanish-language Christmas song Feliz Navidad.

The governor shared the video in an apparent bid to pay tribute to his Latino constituents. However, the video was overshadowed by his goofy behavior, which some Hispanic critics found disrespectful and even racist.

“Feliz Navidad! Feliz Navidad! Próspero año y felicidad,” sang Polis, echoing the chorus of the Christmas hit by Puerto Rican American singer José Feliciano. The lyrics translate to: “Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas, a prosperous year and happiness.”

Polis can be seen shaking his hands back and forth, pointing to the camera, and then shaking his arms.

The governor shared the video to his Spanish-language Twitter account, with some questioning whether the video was real. However, Polis also shared the clip to this official Facebook page.

Author and Heritage Foundation Latin America expert Mike Gonzalez likened the video to the infamous Jill Biden “breakfast tacos” debacle, where the first lady compared Hispanics to Mexican food.

“Are you serious? Have they learned nothing from ‘breakfast tacos?’” Gonzalez questioned.

NewsBusters’ Jorge Bonilla added, “I blame the Professional Latinx, who abet and encourage this cringe.”

Emmanuel Rincón, a journalist and founder of Informe Orwell, reacted to the clip in a Spanish post, describing it as “one of the most cringe-inducing videos you’ll see in 2023 and 2024.”

Independent journalist and podcast host Anthony Cabassa criticized the governor in a Spanish-language post, remarking (translated): “These are the people that demands we call ourselves Latinx.”

Emmanuel Rincón, a journalist and founder of Informe Orwell, reacted to the clip describing it in a Spanish post, as “one of the most cringe videos you will ever see in 2023 and 2024.”

Polis had previously highlighted his ability to speak Spanish and had released Spanish-language videos, including one urging Hispanic Coloradans to maintain social distance and use face masks. “Gracias por echarle ganas,” Polis expressed in one video.

This would not be the first time a politician or public figure is slammed for missteps when trying to connect with Hispanic communities. Jill Biden faced condemnation after likening Hispanics to a predominantly Mexican dish.

In 2020, then-presidential candidate Biden himself gained attention for attempting to engage Hispanic voters by playing Justin Bieber’s Despacito at a campaign event.

Biden Barks at Media for Scathing Coverage of Economy: Report It ‘the Right Way’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President Joe Biden scolded the media on Saturday for their widespread yet accurate negative coverage of the U.S. economy, demanding more positive reports.

Asked about his economic “outlook” for 2024, Biden confidently responded, “All good—take a look!” He added with a smirk, “Start reporting it the right way!”

These remarks were made as Biden departed the White House for Camp David to celebrate the Christmas holiday.

Despite Biden’s optimism, several polls indicate growing concerns among Americans about the economy’s direction.

According to a Fox News poll, only a scant 14% of Americans believe the Biden administration’s economic policies have been beneficial, while a staggering 46% feel the president has caused them financial hardship.

The harsh reality of the economy is highlighted in a Media Research Center report headlined “Bidenomics after 34 Months: Six Charts the Media Don’t Want You to See.”

According to the MRC, gas prices have surged by 42% in the first three years of the Biden administration. Consumer prices skyrocketed by 17.2%, a stark contrast to the 7.6% increase during the Trump administration.

Inflation has persistently risen during Biden’s tenure, with prices increasing three times faster compared to the Trump era, as indicated by MRC’s graphs.

Despite these figures and polls reflecting Americans’ sentiments about the Democratic administration’s impact and despite Biden’s criticism, some op-ed writers have defended the struggling Biden administration, according to MRC Business.

MRC Business highlighted on Dec. 21 how columnists like Doyle McManus from the Los Angeles Times, Paul Krugman from the New York Times, and Will Hutton from the Observer have spoken positively about the economy.

For instance, McManus scolded Americans for not hailing Biden despite the dire economy.

MRC Business reported: “McManus also had the audacity to complain about struggling Americans — many of whom are still hit hard by massive inflation — for not praising Biden’s supposed economic success… Is this guy serious?”

Ex-Gov’t Official Pleads Guilty to Issuing IDs, Driver’s Licenses to Illegal Aliens

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A former Tennessee official and husband pleaded guilty to manufacturing hundreds of identification cards for illegal aliens, federal prosecutors announced on Dec. 21.

Cheryl Huff and Mario Paz-Mejia entered guilty pleas to one count of conspiracy to produce, without lawful authority, identification documents or false identification documents.

The couple faces a maximum penalty of 15 years in federal prison, $250,000 in fines and three years of supervised release.

Huff served as a district manager for the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security, overseeing the issuance of state driver’s licenses and identification cards. In her role, Huff had the authority to grant driver’s licenses.

“Using his association with Huff, Paz-Mejia represented to his customers that, in return for $2,500, Paz-Mejia could obtain for them a Tennessee driver’s license or identification card,” federal prosecutors said in a press release.

Prosecutors said that Paz-Media “recruited individuals who were neither citizens of the United States nor residents of Tennessee” who sought to obtained Tennessee driver’s licenses.

Paz-Mejia assisted in creating fake citizenship and permanent residency documents, both of which are required by Tennessee law for individuals seeking state identification cards. He also helped fabricate fake lease agreements, birth certificates and Social Security cards.

“Huff knew, or deliberately ignored a high probability, that Paz-Mejia was helping his customers obtain false citizenship and residency documents and that Paz-Mejia charged his customers money to obtain a Tennessee driver’s license or identification card,” prosecutors added.

Huff used the state’s software to authorize the issuance of identification cards. Prosecutors accused Paz-Mejia of texting Huff the names, dates of birth, and other fake documents. In one text message, Paz-Mejia asked Huff to “check that people,” to which she replied, “All these are not on file. They’re good.”

Once the applications were accepted, Huff escorted the applicants and husband through backdoors to the Driver Service Centers (DSC), a subagency she oversaw.

“Once Paz-Mejia and his customers were inside, Huff initiated driver’s license applications for the customers using TDSHS software.  Huff also instructed subordinate DSC employees to complete applications and issue driver’s licenses to many of Paz-Mejia’s customers,” prosecutors declared.

U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Tennessee Katherine A. Crytze scheduled a sentencing hearing for May 24, 2024.

Prince Andrew ‘Totally Tormented’ Ahead of Release Epstein’s List

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Prince Andrew, the embattled brother of King Charles, is reportedly “totally tormented” in anticipation of the imminent release of pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s list of allies and close friends, the Daily Mail reported on Saturday.

The Mail, citing sources, revealed that Prince Andrew’s name will appear among the infamous list of 150 powerful allies implicated in a since-settled civil lawsuit.

This release is poised to reignite Andrew’s troubling connections to the convicted sex trafficker and his former associate Ghislaine Maxwell, the sources told the Mail.

“Andrew’s name is in there,” an individual told the Mail. “He is beside himself with this latest development and everyone close to him is concerned for his mental wellbeing.”

The source added, “He is at a loss, totally tormented. He is facing his second Christmas without his mother and now the New Year is going to start with his name being dragged through the mud all over again.”

The release of the documents originated from a civil lawsuit filed by Andrew’s accuser, Virginia Roberts (now Virginia Giuffre), against Maxwell, the former socialite who trafficked underage girls to Epstein.

Giuffre alleged she was raped by Andrew when she was 17. Although she filed a civil lawsuit against Andrew, it was settled with no admission of wrongdoing by the British royal.

Despite the settlement in 2017, the Miami Herald successfully pushed for the release of the documents. U.S. Judge Loretta Preska ordered last week that documents must be released by Jan. 1. Some of the documents will remain sealed as they contain the names of some of Epstein’s victims.

A source close to Andrew, speaking to the Mail, mentioned that the British royal continues to be implicated in the scandal.

“Every time Andrew hopes to put his association with Epstein in the past, it flares up again,” the person said.

The source continued, “It doesn’t matter that he has never been charged, let alone convicted, of any wrongdoing, his name keeps getting dragged through the mud by association.”

Largest Caravan En Route to U.S. Days Before Mayorkas’ Mexico Visit in 2023

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A caravan of approximately 10,000 illegal aliens is gaining momentum in Mexico just days before Secretary of State Antony Blinken and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas are expected to meet Mexican officials to address the unprecedented surge of illegal border crossings.

Telemundo Colorado reported on Sunday that the massive group of illegal aliens began their northbound march on Christmas Eve, moving north from the Mexican state of Tapachula, near the border with Guatemala.

The caravan consists of a staggering mix of 24 nationalities, encompassing children, women and entire families.

Immigration groups anticipate the group’s numbers may increase to 15,000, marking the largest collective of illegal aliens marching towards the U.S. in 2023.

As reported by Politico, Mexican President Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador has agreed to host individuals from foreign countries who lack legal status but has struggled to block the rising influx of unauthorized immigrants.

Obrador stated on Friday his willingness to negotiate with the U.S. on controlling illegal immigration but implied that the U.S. would need to lift sanctions on the corrupt, Marxist governments of Cuba and Venezuela.

According to a State Department press release, Blinken, Mayorkas, and White House Homeland Security Advisor Liz Sherwood-Randall will “identify ways Mexico and the United States will address border security challenges.” They will travel to Mexico on Dec. 27.

Mexican authorities attempted to block the caravan, offering employment in Mexico. However, some of the migrants showed no interest. According to Telemundo, some participants in the caravan have been in Mexico for several weeks.

José Wilmer Fernández Caballero, an illegal alien from Honduras, worked in Chiapas. He has previously tried to leave Mexico for the U.S. and is currently part of the caravan.

“Spending so much time in Tapachula was a waste of time,” he said. “Each time I boarded a northbound bus, they pull me off and send me back, claiming my attempts are pointless.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Georgia Home ‘Swatted’ on Christmas

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., revealed that her home was swatted on Christmas, with her family present.

The lawmaker shared the distressing news on Twitter and said this marked the “8th time” law enforcement had responded to a false police report at her Georgia residence.

“I was just swatted,” Greene said on Christmas.

“This is like the 8th time. On Christmas with my family here. My local police are the GREATEST and shouldn’t have to deal with this. I appreciate them so much and my family and I are in joyous spirits celebrating the birth of our savior Jesus Christ!” she added.

Greene’s Georgia home has previously been targeted with swatting incidents. Most recently, her home in Floyd County was swatted over for a fake crime on Oct. 25, 2022.

“The caller wants to have their victim murdered by police,” Green wrote at the time. “But it is also a giant abuse of police resources and time, which is another reason it is a serious crime.”

Two months earlier, Greene was subjected to consecutive swatting incidents.

“Last night, I was swatted just after 1 am,” Greene revealed on Aug. 24. “I can’t express enough gratitude to my local law enforcement here in Rome, Floyd County.”

On Aug. 25, she On Christmas with my family here.  being swatted again.

Speaking in an interview with RSBN, Greene revealed that these fake police reports are criminal attempts to have killed due to her conservative agenda.

Swatting involves someone posing as the perpetrator of a crime, prompting law enforcement to respond to the home of the impersonated individual.

During one swatting incident against Greene, an individual impersonated a transgender person, falsely claiming to have shot their family and intending to end their own life.

Local law enforcement officials passed on this information to the FBI, but no arrests were made, as reported by Fox5 Atlanta.

STEWART: Canada Using Dubious 2004 ‘Study’ to Discriminate Against Whites

(Bob Stewart, Headline USA contributor) One of the most important cases on Canadian court dockets today is currently awaiting a ruling and is likely to drop soon.

Being suffused with woke politics, however, and Canadian media being almost completely captured by woke 20-somethings, it has received next to zero attention in the press.

The case involves a young boy who was blocked from consideration for a black-only summer program at his public school solely because he is white. After filing a complaint with the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, the complainant and father of the boy, Gleb Lisikh (a former subject of the Soviet Union, it should be added), was told by the tribunal judge that he had no legal standing to even bring a racial discrimination complaint against school authorities.

Why? Because he’s white too. In one fell swoop then, the tribunal judge, a white 30-something named Eva Nichols, purported to deny what we’re usually told is a basic human right (that is, protection against unfair treatment) and to brand permanent outsider-status to 8 million white Ontarians (60% of the province) just because of their race and in spite of their own individual “lived experiences.”

Her decision is now on appeal with the proper courts and we should all wish Mr. Lisikh the very best of luck.

I know I will.

Nichols’s decision is currently being used against me in my own legal fight in Ontario’s human rights tribunal; this one, against what’s been described as an “activist” theater in Toronto that bans non-blacks from attending its plays.

This is needed, the theater actually argues, in order to create a “safe space” for blacks away from something called the “white gaze.”

So, in effect, by relying on Nichols in its statement of defense, the theater is first denying service to me because of my race (white), then demanding that I cannot complain about it, again, because of my race.

To emphasize, if Gleb and I lose, this is something that could become the law of the land in Ontario (making the province a global woke pariah or antiracist leader, depending on whom you ask).

Just like in the U.S., these corrosive ideas have actually been brewing in Canadian legal circles for some time. Nichols relies solely on a set of policy guidelines published by the Ontario Human Rights Commission way back in 2005.

While true that nowhere in the guide does the commission explicitly state that whites aren’t covered under the human rights code, and for the near-two decades it’s been around, it’s never been applied in that way, we can still see in it where these seeds were planted.

In a section Nichols cites, for instance, the commission “explains” that there is apparently no biological basis to race; rather, it “emerged in the context of European imperial domination of nations and peoples deemed ‘non-white’ … leading to some of the greatest atrocities in human history.”

The assertion is as sweeping as it is historically illiterate, and any eighth-grade history student should be able to rebut the claim. Regardless, the guide says that somehow because of this only non-whites can be “racialized”—that is, subject to the “process by which [white] societies construct races.” And, hence, for Nichols, whites cannot suffer racially discriminatory harm. Or something.

What the Commission is asserting is that before European colonialism, human groups apparently never recognized fundamental distinctions between themselves and other human groups.

Its citation in support of such a conclusion? A single academic paper authored in 2004 expressly for the purpose of supporting the OHRC’s agenda.

The “research” was conducted not by a biological or evolutionary anthropologist, nor an anthropological linguist, a classical philologist, expert of ancient history, etc., but by a professor of “Caribbean studies.”

And while it is unclear whether “European imperial domination” refers to the colonizing Ancient Greeks or Romans (who most certainly did acknowledge racial differences) or post-medieval era colonialists like Portugal, the commission’s singling out of Europe ignores certain inconvenient questions, like whether Europe’s own invading colonizers from Asia and Africa (who were also their enslavers, in most cases) committed such classifications in order to justify their own oppression i.e. the Persians, Carthaginians, Huns, Mongols, Berbers, Moors, and Ottomans.

The Ottomans and Berbers, for instance, seemed to justify their invasions and enslavements by labelling Europeans “franks” (barbarians) and “giaour” (infidels), among other things. And the Chinese and Japanese certainly thought of themselves as atop some sort of racial hierarchy when they began referring to European explorers and traders as barbarians (“Yi” and “Nanban,” respectively) in the 16th century.

Then there’s the Arabs who had all kinds of dehumanizing things to say about black Africans when they enslaved and killed millions of them from the medieval-era right up until the late 19th century.

Further, the spreading of Christianity to the New World was certainly a big motivator for European colonialism and one that’s much more easily traceable to it than the “creation” of racial classifications. It’s also, like all religions, a literal “social construct” which has also led to “great atrocities.”

Are Christians (who, by the way, wield “Christian privilege”, according to the commission) next? And what about those whom progressives call “white adjacents” i.e. East Asians. Could they be next too?

But more importantly, how the assertion that only Europeans are “non-racialized”, unlike every other group, makes them somehow unable to suffer discriminatory harm is not at all clear and smacks of a fig leaf thinly veiling the self-loathing or outright bigotry of its proponents.

While our cases wait, I’ve set up a petition (anonymous signatures welcomed) calling on Ontario’s huge conservative majority in the provincial parliament to amend the human rights code, rein in the commission, and/or cut loose tribunal judges like Nichols (or, at least, provide the staff of the latter institutions with a mandatory reading list).

Outside of fringe extremists, no one in multicultural Ontario wants a dehumanizing, two-tiered society and the province’s woke elite need to hear this as loud and clear as possible.
