Bombshell Email Exposes Joe Biden’s Alleged Role in Defunct ‘Americore’

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A recently disclosed email and sources have exposed President Joe Biden’s apparent connection to Americore, a bankrupt rural hospital operation implicated in an alleged $100 million conspiracy to defraud Medicare.

Jim Biden, one of Joe Biden’s infamous brothers, mentioned the president in an alleged email to an executive tied to Americore, suggesting that associating with his brother could bring attention to the financially struggling company.

“This would be a perfect platform to expose my Brothers team to [your] protocol,” claimed Jim Biden in an email to the CEO of a company handling Americore’s licensing rights, as reported by Politico. “Could provide a great opportunity for some real exposure.”

Furthermore, Jim Biden proposed plans to grant Joe Biden equity in the company and later appoint him to the board, according to Politico, citing two sources.

To matters worse, Jim Biden asserted that if Biden were to run for the White House, he would have promoted the company, according to a third source cited by Politico.

The recently discovered email and allegations from the sources further cement longstanding accusations that the Biden family may have leveraged the Biden name for personal gain in lucrative business dealings.

Notably, Joe Biden’s connections to Americore are one of the focal points of an impeachment inquiry led by the chairmen of the House Oversight, House Judiciary and House Ways and Means committees. Jim Biden is scheduled to testify before the House Oversight Committee on Feb. 21.

“The email, obtained by POLITICO from a person close to the company, documents one of the many ways in which Jim Biden invoked his brother’s name and clout in the course of his work with Americore, which has since gone bankrupt, wreaking havoc in rural communities in the process,” Politico reported.

As previously covered by Headline USA, the company went bankrupt after Jim Biden’s promises failed to materialize.

“The company collapsed, leaving behind unpaid bills and neglected patients,” Politico continued. “The management failures took a human toll as hospital staff went unpaid, services dwindled, and authorities were forced to intervene.”

Moreover, the company is still under federal criminal investigation, and the Securities and Exchange Commission has sued a business associate of Jim Biden with loan fraud.

The DOJ has accused an Americore hospital in Pennsylvania of participating in what Politico described as “sham service agreements” central to an alleged $100 million conspiracy case.

Economists: Recession on Horizon

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) – Americans should brace for and expect a recession this year, economists are warning, arguing the details of the latest jobs report are not a good indicator.

Even though the Federal Reserve has not yet forecasted a recession and is expected to cut the Fed funds rate in March, some economists are predicting a recession, with more layoffs expected to drive up the unemployment rate.

“There’s this very powerful and seductive narrative around a soft landing, and we’re just not seeing it in the data,” Andrew Hollenhorst, a chief economist for Citibank, told CNBC on Thursday. “Inflation is running too high.”

Despite a strong jobs report of 353,000 jobs added in January, he explained, what matters is what kind of jobs the data is showing. The labor market is not as strong as it seems, Hollenhorst says, because those who are employed are working fewer hours, and fewer full-time workers are employed.

“That’s the key to the economy — what happens in the labor market,” Hollenhorst said. “If the unemployment rate stays low, people continue to spend, the economy holds up.” But once unemployment increases, that is “the sign that we’re going to have a more material decline in the US economy.”

A recession could hit as early as this summer, he said. A recession “involves a significant decline in economic activity that is spread across the economy and lasts more than a few months, the National Bureau of Economic Research explains. It encompasses many factors, including real personal income, nonfarm payroll employment, employment as measured by the household survey, real personal consumption expenditures, wholesale retail sales adjusted for price changes, and industrial production, among others.

Economist David Rosenberg of Rosenberg Research points out that the employment data isn’t what it seems. He asked, “how is it that there has not been one fulltime job created in the United States since last February?” He says when you look at the nonfarm payroll survey and the workweek data, workweek hours are down -7% annually. … You have to look at how much time people are spending at work. You can argue that more companies are adding more people to their staff loads but yet they are cutting everybody’s workweek.”

After evaluating both payroll and workweek data, he said, “there’s been no growth in total labor input in the economy since November,” which is an indicator of a coming recession.

On top of that, consumers have taken on massive credit card debt. While consumer spending has increased, it’s been largely financed by debt, Rosenberg adds, noting that consumers are struggling to pay it.

According to Creditnews, Americans added a record $50 billion in credit card debt last quarter, bringing total credit card debt to a new all-time high of $1.13 trillion. Credit card and auto loan delinquencies are up, and “as far as consumer credit is concerned, the default cycle isn’t merely looming, it’s arrived,” Rosenberg wrote in a recent economic report.

The “hard landing” economic forecast comes after major companies have already begun layoffs, with the tech industry showing signs of trouble. Former CEO of Home Depot and Chrysler Bob Nardell warned more layoffs were coming because high-interest rates are “killing” middle and lower-market companies.

Companies that weathered covid-era lockdowns couldn’t survive high inflation and high interest rates, with major chains announcing bankruptcies, store closures and layoffs including Tuesday Morning, David’s Bridal, Sears, Foot Locker, CVS, Walgreens, Pizza Hut, Boston Market, and Macy’s, among others.

Two Cops and One First Responder Murdered in the Line of Duty

(Headline USA) Two police officers and one first responder were shot and killed early Sunday while responding to a domestic abuse call in a Minneapolis suburb, according to an association that represents police officers.

The deaths of the two Burnsville police officers and the first responder were confirmed by the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association, which represents public safety professionals in the state.

Police, fire and city officials, including the mayor, didn’t immediately return phone or email messages from The Associated Press seeking comment.

Brian Peters, the Executive Director of Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association released a statement on the shooting.

“We are heartbroken,” he said. “Our law enforcement community is heartbroken.”

He explained that “We’re just devastated at the horrific loss.”

Peters continued, “these heroes leave behind loved ones and a community who will forever remember their bravery and dedication to keeping Minnesotans safe.”

The Law Enforcement Labor Services represents rank-and-file officers and the supervisors of the Burnsville Police Department.

The organization’s executive director, Jim Mortenson, also produced a statement.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the officers and first responder who responded to a domestic call this morning,” he said. “These officers were struck down while answering the call of duty to serve and protect,” he continued.

“We mourn alongside the Burnsville community and the families of those killed.”

MURDOCK: Biden Turns Vets into P.O.W.s Under Kafkaesque VA System

(Deroy Murdock, Headline USA) Democrats constantly crow about their faith in “the right to choose.” But this applies to little beyond abortion.

Any woman who chooses to buy a gun or send her child to a charter school should expect “pro-choice” Democrats to stand in her way.

Democrats crave control and uniformity, even when it comes to medical care for America’s veterans. Democrats want vets in the Department of Veterans Affairs, not getting cured in the private sector.

Obama–Biden’s VA waitlist scandal found veterans dying before they could see their doctors. Donald J. Trump promised to fix this lethal mess. And he did.

President Trump signed the Mission Act on June 6, 2018. It holds that if the VA cannot book a primary medical appointment “within 20 days of the date of the request” by a veteran, or 28 days for specialty care, then that vet may seek therapy outside the VA, and the VA will foot the bill.

Trump opened an Office of Community Care to oversee the program, promoted it via a dedicated website (the now defunct MissionAct.VA.gov), and focused on reducing the pile of old cases that awaited adjudication.

This was just too much freedom and choice for President Joe Biden and his comrades. Soon after taking power, they started to lasso vets and haul them back into the VA Corral.

In October 2021, Team Biden padlocked the Office of Community Care and replaced it with a “new integrated access and care coordination model.” How appetizing!

The pro-Mission Act website dropped off the VA’s front page. Those who could track down the link found it connected to a “Choose VA” page that sang the praises of government-sector veterans’ care.

While these two steps backward were inconvenient, Biden’s reversal of Trump’s progress on improving the case backlog truly hurt veterans. The pertinent statistics are jarring.

The VA’s relevant database is a bubbling, jet-filled hot tub for public-policy geeks. Its Monday Morning Workload Reports indicate the level of paperwork facing VA benefits bureaucrats as they sit down at their desks and begin each week.

According to these figures, the day after Trump began his presidency, the Jan. 21, 2017 report found the VA with a backlog of 91,742 claims nationwide that had languished without conclusion for more than 125 days.

By Jan. 18, 2020, two days before Trump’s third anniversary as president, the equivalent figure was 68,911—down 24.9%.

Three days after Joe Biden took office, the Jan. 23, 2021, MMWR backlog was 211,443, reflecting the devastating effects of COVID-19, for which Trump and Biden are blameless. (China’s Xi Jinping is as culpable as anyone.) The Jan. 20, 2024, data, exactly three years into Biden’s presidency, reflect a backlog of 406,864 claims—up 92.4%.

In short, Trump spent three years cutting the VA’s case backlog by one quarter. Biden spent as much time nearly doubling it.

Evidently, this is how Joe “Nice Guy” Biden proves to be the adult in the room who returned everything to normal.

The VA also is ignoring the 20-day primary/28-day specialty care wait time before vets can seek community care. Rather than start the clock when the veteran makes the request, as the Mission Act requires, VA schedulers may begin each countdown whenever they want. This traps vets on the VA plantation and limits their access to private-sector options.

Now, to abuse America’s beloved veterans even further, the VA spent $63.6 million in Fiscal Year 2022 to process illegal-alien health claims, even as the medical paperwork of U.S. citizens gathered dust.

“To see millions of taxpayer dollars taken from our veterans to instead incentivize and care for an invasion of illegal aliens is a giant slap in the face to America and to the military community,” retired U.S. Marine Chad Robichaux told the New York Post’s Ryan King.

The founder of the Mighty Oaks Foundation, a veteran-aid group, added: “Every time we think this administration has reached a grotesque low, they dig deeper.”

‘F**k Joe Biden’ Chants Elicit Trump’s Laughter at Sneakers Launch

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) A Philadelphia crowd enthusiastically welcomed GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump with distinctive chants aimed at scandal-plagued President Joe Biden, sparking a humorous response from the former president.

“F**k Joe Biden! F**k Joe Biden,” resounded the crowd’s chants as Trump took the stage at the Philadelphia-based Sneaker Con on Saturday. In response, a chuckling Trump: “Thank you very much! That’s beautiful.

The former president attended the sneaker event to launch his new footwear, as well as the “Victory47” cologne and perfume priced at $99.

“I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” Trump told the crowd, referring to new line. “I have some incredible people that work with me on things and they came up with this … and I think it’s gonna be a big success.”

While the shoe line asserts that the sneakers are not connected to the campaign, Trump mentioned that the sneakers could help him reach young voters.

“We’re going to turn this country around fast. We’re going to turn it around. And we’re going to remember the young people, and we’re going to remember Sneaker Con,” Trump said.

The shoes, featured on the website “GetTrumpSneakers.com,” range from $399 to $199. The official license for the sneaker came from CIC Ventures LLC.

The most expensive pair of shoes, the “Never Surrender High-Top Sneaker” (already sold out), boasts a gold-plated color with a letter T embossed on the shoe, alongside an American flag.

The additional footwear options, branded “T-Red Wave” and “Potus 45,” are available in red and white hues, featuring the prominent letter T—a representation of “Trump.”

Trump extended invitations to several individuals to speak at the podium, where they voiced their support for the former president’s 2024 candidacy. At the event, a man won an auction for an autographed gold sneaker worth $9,000.

One video showed Trump signing sneakers and greeting some of the attendees.

‘Go Back to China’ Pelosi Summons Cops on Women Protesting Outside Mansion

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) San Francisco law enforcement apprehended activists accused of vandalizing the opulent residence of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, despite the California Democrat’s earlier defense of those who dissent against policies they disagree with.

Heather Phipps was arrested for allegedly damaging Pelosi’s garage door and sections of the streets and sidewalks. A second protester, Cynthia Papermaster, faces a misdemeanor vandalism charge for purportedly leaving handprints on the former speaker’s garage door, the San Francisco Standard reported Friday.

The individuals were reportedly positioned outside Pelosi’s home to protest U.S. support for Israel following the military offensive against the Hamas terrorist group. Their alleged damage incurred a total cost of $5,648, according to the San Francisco Department of Public Works.

As reported by the Standard, the protesters belong to the Code Pink activist organization, which made national headlines last month when Pelosi confronted some of them, shouting what critics perceived as racist slurs.

“Go back to China, where your headquarters is,” Pelosi shouted at some of the individuals, allegedly referring to the Chinese ties of Code Pink’s co-founder Jodie Evans.

These recent arrests and altercations stand in contrast to Pelosi’s previous support for protests. In 2021, she defended Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., when Waters suggested that BLM protests should “get more confrontational” if former Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin was acquitted in the killing of George Floyd.

“Maxine talked about ‘confrontation’ in the manner of the Civil Rights movement,” Pelosi said in defense. “No, I don’t think she should apologize.”

Pelosi’s residence has been a target of protests before, with individuals expressing anger by painting graffiti on the door over the federal government’s failure to pass COVID-19 relief payments.

Protestors painted phrases like “$2K,” “Cancel rent!” and “We want everything” on Pelosi’s garage door. Fake blood and an apparent pig head were also discovered, as reported by ABC 7.

According to Politico, the demonstrations trace back to 2007 when anti-Iraq war activists held a vigil outside her home. The anti-Pelosi sentiment reached a climax in 2023 when David DePape broke into Pelosi’s home and attacked the former speaker’s husband, Paul Pelosi, with a hammer.

“Where’s Nancy?” DePape allegedly asked during the break-in. He was ultimately found guilty on one count of assaulting the immediate family member of a federal official and a second count for attempting to kidnap a federal official, federal prosecutors announced in November.

NYC Tourist Recounts Near-Deadly Shooting by Venezuelan Teen

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The Brazilian tourist who fell victim to a shooting by a 15-year-old illegal alien in Times Square shared the harrowing details of her ordeal in a candid interview, shedding light on an incident that local authorities say could have turned deadly.

Tatiele Ribeiro Lemons, a Brazilian national, was inside JD Sports clothing store when Jesus Alejandro Rivas-Figueroa, a 15-year-old Venezuelan national, allegedly opened fire after being caught shoplifting by a security guard in Times Square, New York City.

The youngster shot Lemons, narrowly missing the security guard.

A distraught Lemons sent a voice message to her husband in Brazil, informing him of the shooting. “My love, I’ve been shot, my love! I am going to send you my location, my love. Help! Help!” Lemons said in a Portuguese-language audio messege.

Lemons and her husband, Luis Fernando Orosz, appeared for an interview with Brazilian outlet EPTV, where she expressed her belief that the shooting would end her life.

“I believe I was born again, a bad experience but, thank God, I’m happy to be alive,” she told G1 magazine (an affiliate of EPTV). “I was very shaken, with a bad feeling that you thought you were going to die. Horrible, even more so outside your country.”

Lemons received medical assistance at a nearby hospital, initially unaware that she had been shot but began feeling dizzy and experiencing a sharp pain in her leg.

Shortly after the shooting, the Venezuelan teen, assisted by two other individuals, fled the store but not before allegedly shooting at NYPD officers who pursued him into a train station. The police lost track of the alleged perpetrator after he boarded a train.

He was eventually apprehended by U.S. Marshals in a highly televised capture in the upstate region of Yonkers, New York. Video footage of the arrest depicted the teen sobbing while a woman pleaded, “My child, my child,” in Spanish.

City prosecutors charged the young man as an adult with attempted murder.

The teen had previously resided at a taxpayer-funded shelter in the Upper West Side neighborhood of Manhattan.

Zelenskyy Now Welcomes Trump After Claiming Biden Loss ‘Stressed’ Him

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appears to be considering an alliance with former President Donald Trump as the Republican candidate advances his path to the White House in 2024.

During the Munich Security Conference on Saturday, Zelenskyy declared his willingness to welcome Trump in the event of a visit. “If he will come I am ready even to go with him to the front line,” Zelenskyy said.

“I think if we are in dialogue how to finish the war, we have to demonstrate to people who are decision-makers, what does it mean — the real war, not in Instagram, real war” he added, hinting at potential negotiations with a potential Trump White House.

Zelenskyy’s remarks come as Trump opposes the Senate and President Joe Biden’s foreign aid bill that includes $60 billion in support for Ukraine. While the aid does not constitute direct cash, Trump suggested that the U.S. should instead loan the money to Ukraine.

“They want to give them $60 billion more,” Trump said at a North Charleston rally on Wednesday. “Do it this way. Loan them the money. If they can make it, they pay us back. If they can’t make it, they don’t have to pay us back.”

Zelenskyy’s statements highlight a slight departure from his previous remarks earlier this year when he admitted that a potential second Trump term caused him stress.

“[Trump] is going to make decisions on his own, without … I’m not even talking about Russia, but without both sides, without us,” Zelenskyy said on a January interview. “If he says this publicly, that’s a little scary. I’ve seen a lot, a lot of victims, but that’s really making me a bit stressed.”

Earlier in the interview, he invited Trump to visit Ukraine, especially as the former president had claimed he could end the war within 24 hours.

“Donald Trump, I invite you to Ukraine, to Kyiv. If you can stop the war during 24 hours, I think it will be enough to come,” Zelenskyy pleaded.

Trump is currently competing for the Republican nomination for president, facing the long-shot candidate former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley. This suggests that he will likely secure the nomination and then proceed to a rematch of the 2020 election with Biden.

Several polls indicate that Trump is either leading or tying the incumbent president in a potential rematch.

Watchdog Unable to Determine if U.S. Financial Statements are Reliable

(Brett Rowland, The Center Square) – A Congressional watchdog said Friday that it was again unable to determine if the federal government’s consolidated financial statements were reliable.

The U.S. Government Accountability Office, which is Congress’s research arm, said it was hampered by “serious financial management problems at the Department of Defense,” problems in accounting for transactions between federal agencies, weaknesses in the process for preparing the statements and inadequate support for the cost of loan programs from the Small Business Administration and Department of Education.

“Congress and the Administration need reliable and complete financial information, within each agency and across the government as a whole, to govern effectively and efficiently,” U.S. Comptroller General Gene Dodaro said in a statement. “Also, the federal government continues to operate on an unsustainable fiscal path, jeopardizing the country’s long-term position to face domestic and international challenges.”

The Government Accountability Office was also unable to provide an opinion on the federal government’s fiscal year 2023 and 2022 financial statements. In fact, it’s been a long-running problem with the Pentagon being a primary culprit.

The GAO report said that the Pentagon has made progress but noted that “DOD has acknowledged that achieving a clean audit opinion will take time.”

The Department of Defense didn’t immediately respond to questions about its work.

David Walker, the former Comptroller General of the U.S., told The Center Square that it could still take “several years” for the Department of Defense to get a clean audit. But even a clean audit doesn’t mean everything is well within the federal government, said Walker, an advisory board member for Main Street Economics.

Walker said the federal government’s total financial hole – total liabilities plus unfunded social insurance promises – increased by about $6.5 trillion to a total of about $130 trillion. He said that total debt often goes unnoticed.

The U.S. debt of $34.2 trillion, which is subject to the debt ceiling, isn’t a full accounting, Walker said.

“That’s the amount of ice that you see above the water,” he said. “What you don’t see is what’s below the water.”

Main Street Economics has advocated for a fiscal commission that could help Congress put the nation on a more sustainable financial path.

The GAO report noted the debt-to-GDP ratio was about 97% at the end of fiscal year 2023.

“Under current policy and based on this report’s assumptions, it is projected to reach 531 percent by 2098,” according to the report. “The projected continuous rise of the debt-to-GDP ratio indicates that current policy is unsustainable.”

The report said that the Statement of Long-Term Fiscal Projections showed that the present value of “total noninterest spending, over the next 75 years, under current policy, is projected to exceed the [present value] of total receipts by $73.2 trillion.”

Explosion at Virginia Home Kills 1 Firefighter Injures Several

(Headline USA) One firefighter was killed and nine others were injured when an explosion in a Washington, D.C., suburb on Friday leveled a home where they were investigating a gas leak. Two other people were also injured.

The firefighters were called to the home in Sterling, Virginia, by a report of a gas smell shortly after 7:30 p.m. and a fiery explosion took place about 30 minutes later, fire officials said.

The blast and fire occurred while firefighters were inside the building, James Williams, assistant chief of operations for Loudon County Fire and Rescue, said at a news conference.

“Soon after arrival, with firefighters inside, the house did explode,” Williams said.

One firefighter was killed, while nine firefighters and two others were taken to hospitals with injuries ranging from limited to severe, Williams said.

“We have all firefighters out of the building. The fire will continue to smolder,” Williams said.

He described damage to the home as “total devastation.”

“There’s a debris field well into the street and into the neighboring homes,” he said.

Williams said the cause of the fire was under investigation.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company said its crews had responded to a report of a gas leak before the blast.

A neighbor, John Padgett, told ABC7 News that he had smelled gas while walking his dog earlier.

The blast shook his home, he said.

“It looked like an inferno,” and insulation from the burning home fell like ash, he added. “It was horrific; it looked like something out of a war zone.”

Sterling is about 22 miles (35 kilometers) northwest of Washington, D.C.
