Scientists Push to Rename ‘Problematic’ Dinosaurs Due to Racism, Sexism

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Dinosaurs may have become extinct millions of years ago, but that doesn’t imply they didn’t leave behind traces of sexism and racism — at least, that’s the assertion from some scientists today.

Researchers are now calling for a reconsideration of dinosaur names in the name of inclusivity, with some factoring in the location and circumstances of the discovery in the naming process, reported the scientific journal Nature on Tuesday.

Paleobiologist Emma Dunne, who features her pronouns on her Twitter bio, and colleagues at Germany’s Friedrich-Alexander University allege that 3% of the 1,500 dinosaurs discovered in the past two centuries carry associations with racism and sexism.

The researchers argue that many were named within “(neo)colonial contexts or after controversial figures.”

According to Nature, the researchers found that most dinosaurs named after the individuals who found them were given male names, prompting a suggestion to instead name them based on their physical characteristics.

The International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN), the entity overseeing naming conventions, is pushing back these calls for change.

“We do not recommend renaming unless there are what we would call formal nomenclatural reasons,” ICZN president Thomas Pape said, expressing concerns about potential disruption to the “stability” of current names.

Pape did express a willingness to explore alternative names, including a system where potential names are subjected to peer reviews.

Despite the pushback, an individual who contributed to the study is demanding change.

Paleontologist Evangelos Vlachos conceded that despite the relatively small number of alleged “problematic” names, considering name changes is crucial.

“The problem in terms of numbers is really insignificant. But it is significant in terms of importance,” Vlachos claimed, according to Nature.

“We don’t say that tomorrow we need to change everything. But we need to critically revise what we have done, see what we have done well and what we have not done well, and try to correct it in the future,” he added.

FBI Investigating Democrat Mayor over Political Retaliation Allegations

(Headline USA) The FBI reportedly launched an investigation into a Democratic Illinois mayor over allegations that she punished a local business owner after he declined to donate to an event she held.

Dolton Mayor Tiffany Henyard—who was pictured with President Joe Biden at the White House last month during the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ annual meeting—has drawn scrutiny in recent months for her behavior toward other local leaders and alleged mismanagement of city funds.

That scrutiny has now developed into an FBI probe after a Dolton-based U-Haul rental and trucking business owner accused Henyard of retaliating against him for not supporting her. Lawrence Gardner alleged Dolton’s officials have refused to renew his business license, and that his business has been raided by Dolton police as a result.

The retaliation started after he refused to donate to a civic event sponsored by Henyard, according to Gardner.

Gardner said he reached out to the FBI about the situation, and that they confirmed to him they were taking the allegations “very seriously.” He is one of six individuals, including other business owners and former Dolton city employees, who have reportedly spoken with the FBI about Henyard’s conduct.

“I talked to a couple of [FBI] agents and I explained to them what’s going on,” Gardner told FOX 32. “I gave them all my paperwork to show them what was happening in court and what was happening in Dolton. And they told me they were investigating and would be in touch with me.”

Gardner is not the only local business owner who suspects Henyard has used her office to retaliate against him. Restauranteur Dewayne Wood said that he has also had difficulties getting his permits approved, and alleged it’s likely because he has been associated with others in the city engaged in a political battle with Henyard.

“I’ve heard rumors that say, hey I’m on the wrong team,” Wood said, adding, “I think I’ve been targeted because of my association, affiliation with a certain group of people. The trustees. I’ve cooked for the trustees.”

Biden Claims House Republicans Are ‘Worse’ Than Segregationists

(Headline USA) President Joe Biden claimed this week that House Republicans were “worse” than the segregationists he worked with during his time in the U.S. Senate.

Biden made the comment during a fundraising event in San Francisco on Wednesday.

“I’ve served with real racists,” he said, according to the New York Times. “I’ve served with Strom Thurmond. I’ve served with all these guys that have terrible records on race. But guess what? [House Republicans] are worse.”

Strom Thurmond was a segregationist lawmaker who served as the Democratic governor of South Carolina from 1947 to 1951 before serving 47 years as a U.S. senator. He voted against both versions of the Civil Rights Act.

“By the time Strom left, he did terrible things,” Biden reportedly went on to say. “I’m not making him more than he was. But my point is, at least you could work with some of these guys.”

House Republicans, on the other hand, not only refuse to work with him but also stoke racial divisions because they “do not believe in basic democratic principles,” Biden claimed.

This is not the first time Biden has spoken warmly of Southern segregationists. During his 2020 campaign, he came under fire for praising segregationist senators James Eastland and Herman Talmadge for their “civility.”

He walked back the comment later, saying, “Now, was I wrong a few weeks ago to somehow give the impression to people that I was praising those men who I successfully opposed time and again?” he said. “Yes, I was. I regret it. I’m sorry for any of the pain and misconception I may have caused anybody.”

Alongside then-President Barack Obama, Biden also helped eulogize former Ku Klux Klan grand-wizard Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., at his 2010 funeral.

Nonetheless, Biden has frequently insulted Republicans, labeling them “MAGA extremists” and “semi-fascists” on multiple occasions.

“Time and again Republicans show they are the party of chaos and division,” Biden said on Thursday.

House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., responded to Biden’s “outrageous” comment, saying, “The least popular President to seek re-election is now so desperate and so underwater in the polls he’s playing the race card from the bottom of the deck.”

BREAKING: Satanic Cultist Exposed in Headline USA Investigation Arrested by US Marshals

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Knoxville area resident Kyle Spitze, a member of the Satanic pedophile cult 764, was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Wednesday and is being held in a Kentucky correctional facility.

Spitze’s arrest was first reported by online researcher BX, and is listed on the Laurel County Correctional Center’s website.

The correctional center’s website does not explain what charges he faces. A receptionist at that facility said she couldn’t release information on Spitze because the case against him is federal and he’s only being held there temporarily.

A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Tennessee declined to comment on the matter, while the Marshals Service said it doesn’t release information about defendants or their court cases.

Neither the FBI’s Knoxville office nor its national press office immediately responded to Headline USA queries seeking more information.

Presumably, the charges against Spitze will be released in the coming days, if not hours.

Kyle’s father, Michael Spitze, also declined to comment on the situation.

Previous Headline USA Investigation

Michael previously spoke to Headline USA after Kyle’s mother was found dead in a hotel room on Jan. 28.

In that interview, Michael denied that his son had anything to do with his mother’s death. Knoxville police corroborated Michael this week, telling Headline USA that the death of Kyle’s mother was “accidental.”

Michael also denied that his son is a pedophile, though he did admit that Kyle was involved in the 764 cult.

“Yes, Kyle’s been involved with these idiots online for a number of years. Never has Kyle actually done anything with these idiots. I don’t know why he’d aspire to be like them—maybe because he thinks hacking is the coolest thing in the world,” Michael told this publication.

“But no, my son is not a pedophile. He just may be associated with some fucked up people, but he’s definitely not involved in those activities.”

When presented with evidence that a girl allegedly cut herself and painted, “I’m so sorry Kyle,” along with “764” and occult iconography in blood on a wall—Michael denied that his son had anything to do with that.

“No proof, I don’t see him in any pictures,” Michael said in one text, before following up with: “He’s been in the hospital for 3 days with no access to his electronics, phone etc. [Y]et somehow someone posted, impersonating him yesterday. He’s being blackmailed and blamed for things that he didn’t do and hasn’t done.”

Later, Michael texted again: “He may not be totally innocent but someone is deliberately trying to do this and pretend they are him.”

Michael reiterated: “Kyle did not have any hand in the death of my wife. That has been legally proven, or the police would have had him in custody a long time ago if they did their investigation.”

Headline USA published its initial investigation into Spitze on Feb. 3. It can be read here.

If Kyle’s arrest is indeed related to his involvement with 764, he’d be the lastest member of that cult to be busted.

Other 764 Cases

In November 2021, the FBI arrested 764 member Angel Almeida. Details of Almeida’s 764 activities weren’t made public until records about his case were unsealed late last year.

More recently, the Justice Department filed charges in December against another 764 member, Kalana Limkin, for allegedly promoting child pornography, sexual extortion, and trafficking, animal cruelty and self-harm of minors.

And most recently, the FBI arrested alleged Satanic pedophile Richard “Rabid” Densmore on Jan. 31 for running an online forum for users to create, distribute, and stream child pornography featuring self-harm.

State Appellate Court Shuts Down NYC’s Controversial Noncitizen Voting Law

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) A controversial New York City law that would have given 800,000 plus noncitizens the ability to vote in municipal elections—thereby sowing confusion for concurrent state and federal elections and undermining election integrity in the nation’s largest city—was struck down Wednesday by a New York state appeals court, the New York Post reported.

“There is nothing more important than preserving the integrity of our election system, and in today’s age, the government should be working to create more trust in our elections, not less,” said U.S. Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, R-N.Y., celebrating the announcement.

“The right to vote is a sacred right given only to United States citizens,” she added. “It is my hope that left-wing lawmakers stop pushing these unconstitutional and reckless measures that dilute the voices of American citizens.”

Appellate Judge Paul Wooten wrote the majority opinion for the court, which sided against the “Our City, Our Vote” law in a 3-1 decision.

He said that the law, which would enfranchise some 800,000 noncitizens who are legally residing in the Big Apple, violated the state’s constitution by allowing foreigners to partake in American government.

“We determine that this local law was enacted in violation of the New York State Constitution and Municipal Home Rule Law, and thus, must be declared null and void,” Wooten argued.

Specifically, he suggested that it ignored voter-eligibility requirements by allowing noncitizens to vote.

“Article IX provides that the elected officials of ‘local governments’ shall be elected by ‘the people,’ which incorporates by reference the eligibility requirements for voting under article II, section 1, applying exclusively to ‘citizens,’” he added.

If foreigners were permitted to vote, the court argued further, then there would be no reason that foreigners could not also hold public office.

Despite the airtight, common-sense argument, Judge Lilian Wan issued a dissenting opinion, arguing that restricting voting rights to citizens undermined “the persons who are entitled to a voice in the local electoral process.”

Wan also claimed that the move “disenfranchises” almost a million foreigners living in the city.

“Every voter who’s able to turn out is good for our democracy,” claimed Nora Moran, the  director of policy and advocacy at United Neighborhood Houses—a progressive nonprofit group that supported the bill—when the measure was first introduced.

The appeals court upheld a prior ruling issued by the Staten Island Supreme Court.

In June 2022, Staten Island Supreme Court Justice Ralph Porzio declared that “there is no statutory ability for the City of New York to issue inconsistent laws permitting non-citizens to vote and exceed the authority granted to it by the New York State Constitution.”

The law may still stand a shot at being revived by an en banc appellate review or a review by the state supreme court, which is notoriously left-leaning, as the recent trials against former President Donald Trump have revealed to the public at large.

A spokesman for the city’s Law Department said they were “reviewing the court’s decision and evaluating next steps.”

REPORT: Blue States Spent Millions in COVID-Relief Funds on Illegals

(Headline USA) Democratic states and cities have spent tens of millions of dollars allocated to them as COVID-19 relief on illegal immigrants, according to Fox News.

A review of state and local programs shows Democrat governors and mayors have spent at least $517 million on initiatives for “undocumented residents.”

The funding largely came from the American Rescue Plan Act—the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus package passed under a Democrat-controlled Congress in 2021, through the ARP’s Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund.

With the vaccines having already made their way into circulation, it was widely recognized that the so-called stimulus package would serve as essential life support in an economy wrecked by mandatory shutdowns, as similar Trump-era packages had been.

Instead, it would be purely discretionary funding in the hopes of jolting a recalcitrant public back to normal.

Outrageously, the plan openly encouraged wasteful and profligate spending on leftist wish-list items—including universal basic income, labor unions, drag queens, Black Lives Matter and “anti-racism” studies—while including statutes that specifically prohibited red states from applying the allocated relief funds to offset state tax cuts.

Meanwhile, with President Joe Biden’s aggressive open-borders program still in its infancy, sanctuary states including Washington, Illinois and New Jersey—as well as the cities of Washington, D.C.; Chicago; Denver and Boston—all used this funding mechanism to support illegals, the review found.

In Washington state, government officials allocated $340 million in ARP funding for a so-called “COVID-19 Immigrant Relief Fund,” which was then used to send one-time cash grants worth at least $1,000 to illegal immigrants. More than 100,000 illegal immigrants in the state received payments of $3,075 through the program, according to the Washington state Department of Social and Health Services.

In Illinois, the state government used $71.8 million in ARP funds to provide cash payments to “households that were not eligible” to receive stimulus checks from the federal government “due to immigration status.”

And in New Jersey, Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration set aside $60 million in ARP funds for the “Excluded New Jerseyan Fund,” which sent cash payments worth up to $4,000 per household to tens of thousands of illegal immigrants during the pandemic. The program defined “excluded New Jerseyans” as “undocumented individuals, residents re-entering from the justice system,” and others excluded from the stimulus package.

“This means the Biden Administration directly subsidized ‘undocumented’ immigration under the guise of COVID-19 pandemic relief,” a recent report from the Economic Policy Innovation Center explained.

“[T]he Biden Administration is directly subsidizing undocumented immigration while simultaneously claiming the checks do not count in determining if a recipient is dependent on the government and thus a public charge and ineligible for permanent residence,” EPIC noted in its report on the government slush fund.

Democratic officials in several big cities, including Boston and Denver, have since announced significant budget cuts due to the relentless influx of illegal immigrants and, after having offered considerable incentives for them to show up, are now declaring states of emergency and demanding even more resources to contain the issue.

Are CBS and the FBI Colluding to Burn a Reporter’s Confidential Source?

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Earlier this month, it was announced that CBS News fired senior correspondent Catherine Herridge. Now, CBS faces backlash for reportedly seizing Herridge’s computers and records on her way out the door.

CBS’s seizures come as Herridge holds strong against potential contempt-of-court charges for refusing to divulge the identity of a source who fed her information on Chinese national Yanping Chen, a Defense Department contractor who has ties to the Chinese Communist Party. Herridge’s source may have been within the FBI, as her reporting was underpinned by information that the bureau generated during its investigation into Chen.

That raises the question: Was CBS’s seizure of Herridge’s files related to the hunt for the source that leaked her FBI records?

It’s certainly plausible, as CBS has likely been infiltrated by the FBI.

Indeed, in 2011 an FBI memo surfaced, revealing that an ABC News journalist had been doubling as an FBI informant in the mid-90s. That journalist/informant, Christopher Isham, had moved on to serve as the vice president and Washington bureau chief for CBS by the time the FBI memo was made public in 2011.

Rather than investigate the matter, CBS said at the time that the news of Isham being an informant was “a matter between the FBI and ABC News.” Isham left CBS in 2020, but considering its apathy towards employing an alleged informant, it seems likely that CBS has maintained its cozy relationship with the FBI since then.

CBS’s treatment of Herridge wouldn’t be the first time that news agency seized a journalist’s records.

According to former CBS journalist Sharyl Attkisson, her former employer still has data from a computer she used when she was investigating the Obama-era Operation Fast and Furious scandal.

Attkisson had her electronic devices hacked by government agents in retaliation for her reporting, and she’s currently suing over the matter. As part of her lawsuit, she had to legally compel CBS to give her a computer hard drive that was hacked while she worked there.

CBS even filed a motion to quash Attkisson’s quest for these records last month, arguing that the news agency has already done plenty to aid the journalist in her lawsuit against the government.

Moreover, Attkisson claims that CBS is still withholding some data from that harddrive. In a court filing last May, she said she received the hard drive from CBS—but some of the data was missing.

“What is for certain at present is that the CBS drive produced per the Court order contains only about 80-90% of the information contained on the Original hard drive and has significant differences that are not explainable without further clarification from CBS or its vendor,” Attkisson said in her filing.

“It is odd or unusual that a forensic consultant retained by CBS would hand-deliver evidence to a third-party and there be no record of what evidence was removed, copied, or provided, nor evidence of who received the evidence,” she said.

The former CBS journalist still seeks answers as to why she didn’t get the original hard drive that she needs.

CBS has not responded to questions about why it seized Herridge’s records, according to The Hill.

Bad Commercial Real Estate Loans Put Strain on Banking System

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) The commercial real estate market continues to deteriorate in this high-interest rate environment, putting stress on the banking system.

The dollar amount of bad commercial real estate loans has ballooned beyond the loss reserves held by big banks to cover them as more and more borrowers struggle to keep up with payments.

Commercial real estate investors face a double whammy of higher interest rates driving up loan payments coupled with a sagging market and falling property values.

According to reporting by the Financial Times, average loss reserves held by big banks including JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley have dropped to 90 cents for every dollar of commercial real estate debt 30 days late or more. That’s down from $1.60, according to bank filings to the FDIC.

That means if lenders were to default on all those late loans, banks would be on the hook for 10 cents of every dollar. This isn’t enough to sink a big bank, but it reveals just how shaky the commercial real estate market has become, and it raises more significant questions about regional and small banks that hold the bulk of commercial real estate loans.

Over the last year, delinquent commercial real estate debt held by the six largest U.S. banks tripled to $9.3 billion.

A BankRegData analyst told the Financial Times that it is imperative that banks raise their loss reserves.

There are banks that may have looked fine six months ago, that are going to look not so good next quarter.

Even more alarming is the $24.3 billion in delinquent commercial real estate loans held throughout the U.S. banking system. Bad loans on office buildings, malls, apartments, and other commercial properties have more than doubled over the last 12 months, up from $11.2 billion.

Small and regional banks still have enough reserves to cover their bad debt, but the situation is deteriorating quickly. Overall, U.S. banks hold $1.40 in reserve for every dollar of bad commercial real estate debt, dropping from $2.20 just one year ago. That’s the lowest reserve level in seven years.

And it’s only going to get worse.

As current loans mature in the next few years, borrowers will be forced to refinance at much higher interest rates.

According to the Mortgage Bankers Association, around $1.2 trillion of commercial real estate debt in the United States will mature over the next two years. Zooming further out, $2.56 trillion in commercial real estate loans will mature over the next five years, with $1.4 trillion held by banks, according to real estate data provider Trepp.

With rates rising and credit conditions tightening, many loans may face an uphill battle as refinancing becomes more costly, especially if banks and other lenders look to reduce their CRE exposure as we saw happen during previous recessionary cycles. This could lead to lower property values and larger losses for lenders.

Reuters warned about this situation last fall, reporting, “Weak demand for offices could trigger a wave of borrowers to default on their loans and put pressure on banks and other lenders, which are hoping to avoid selling loans at significant discounts.”

Tremors have already rumbled through the banking system.

Earlier this month, New York Community Bank lost more than 50 percent of its market value after reporting potential losses in its commercial real estate loan book totaling hundreds of millions of dollars. Meanwhile, the failure of the Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust ranked as the biggest bankruptcy in 2023. The company was loaded up with more than $1 billion in liabilities.

According to a recent working paper published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, approximately 300 regional banks are at risk of collapse due to problems in the commercial real estate sector.

Researchers estimate that 44 percent of office loans appear to be in “negative equity. That means the current property values are less than the outstanding loan balances.

Additionally, around one-third of all loans and the majority of office loans may encounter substantial cash flow problems and refinancing challenges.

Regulators and Federal Reserve officials insist the problems in the real estate market don’t pose a broader threat to the banking system and everything is fine. Of course, these are the same people who claimed the subprime mortgage market wasn’t a problem in 2006 and the situation was “contained” or “ring-fenced” in 2007.

The Federal Reserve Set the Stage for This Problem

The central bank sowed the seeds for this problem more than a decade ago when it slashed interest rates to zero and launched the first round of quantitative easing in the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis. It doubled down on these policies during the pandemic, slashing interest rates to zero again, and injecting trillions of dollars of new money into the economy.

This incentivized excessive borrowing and created all kinds of malinvestments in the economy.

This was a repeat of the Fed’s monetary policy after the dot-com bubble burst. Artificially low-interest rates in the aftermath of that crisis set the stage for 2008.

When price inflation forced the Fed to hike rates last year, it exposed these problems. It was inevitable that things in the bubble economy would go “pop” when the central tried to raise interest rates to fight the price inflation it caused with its loose monetary policy.

The first pop was the failure of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank last March. The Fed managed to paper over problems in the banking system with a bailout. But despite assurances from the powers that be that everything is fine, it’s clear issues in the commercial real estate market could cascade into an even bigger series of bank failures, similar to how subprime mortgages crashed the financial system in 2008.

The commercial real estate market is just one of many distortions Fed monetary policy created. Most of them are just bubbling under the surface waiting to explode. Which one ultimately precipitates a crisis remains to be seen. It could be commercial real estate or something else.

But ultimately something will break. The economy is not “fine.” It’s just a matter of time.

Wikileaks’ Julian Assange Could be on U.S. Soil within Weeks

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) This week, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange had his final appeal hearing to oppose extradition from the UK to the U.S. to stand trial for allegedly violating the Espionage Act—charges that stem from him publishing leaked records about U.S. war crimes.

Two High Court judges said Wednesday they would take time to consider their verdict after a two-day hearing in which Assange’s lawyers argued sending him to the United States would risk a “flagrant denial of justice.”

According to Assange’s wife, Stella Assange, the judges could render their decision within weeks.

If they rule in favor of the U.S. government, Assange could immediately be put on a plane and shipped to America, she said. Assange can ask the European Court of Human Rights to block his extradition, but supporters worry he could be put on a plane to the U.S. before that happens, because the British government has already signed an extradition order.

“That’s how imminent it is,” she said in an interview with Tucker Carlson that aired Wednesday. “This is a high-risk moment for Julian.”

Stella added that Assange was absent from court on both days because he is unwell. He wanted to attend, but was “not in good condition,” she said.

The 52-year-old Australian has been indicted on 17 charges of espionage and one charge of computer misuse over his website’s publication of a trove of classified U.S. documents almost 15 years ago. American prosecutors allege Assange encouraged and helped U.S. Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning steal diplomatic cables and military files that WikiLeaks published, putting lives at risk.

A U.K. district court judge rejected the U.S. extradition request in 2021 on the grounds that Assange was likely to kill himself if held under harsh U.S. prison conditions. Higher courts overturned that decision after getting assurances from the U.S. about his treatment. The British government signed an extradition order in June 2022.

If extradited, Assange faces a sentence of 175 years for exposing war crimes committed by the United States in the Afghan and Iraq wars.

Meanwhile, the FBI is reportedly still investigating Assange. Journalist James Ball wrote in Rolling Stone last July that Biden’s Justice Department and the FBI are pursing “vague threats and pressure tactics” to pressure British journalists to cooperate with their prosecution of Assange.

Texas Univ.’s Satanic Display Elicits Outrage, Calls for Removal

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A new outdoor art exhibit at the University of Houston caused a backlash from students, alumni and a pro-life organization for being “satanic” and supportive of “child sacrifice.”

The Public Art University of Houston System, which co-commissioned the display, described the “Havah… to Breathe, Air, Life” statue by artist Shahzia Sikander as a temporary art display, adding that it is scheduled to appear on campus through Oct. 31, 2024.

The statue was erected recently on the UH’s grounds. Initially, the grand opening event was scheduled for Feb. 28, 2024, but the university communications office informed the College Fix on Feb. 21, 2024, that the event had been canceled.

“There will be no event on Feb. 28. We are working through the details on any potential programming for the exhibit. There are no other changes at this time,” the university said.

The university art organization tried to defend the statue by spewing some standard feminist talking points, such as that it challenges “traditional symbols of power, justice and female representation in public monuments.”

According to the Daily Cougar, a local student newspaper, several UH students and alumni expressed their opposition to the statue being on campus because it celebrates Satan and “child sacrifice” by abortion.

“It is a satanic monument to child sacrifice and it should be burned with fire. Any medical professional will tell you of the pain and suffering a fetus experiences when he or she is ‘terminated.’ Don’t take my word for it, look it up. Hedonism will destroy this country,” alumnus Joe Wilson said.

Junior Aaron Stollings agreed with Wilson by saying that he wanted the statue to be removed immediately because “it’s satanic and it represents evil values.”

The student newspaper also reported that the UH Student Government Association is considering a resolution that calls for the removal of the exhibit that looks like a large, golden statue of a woman with goat horns.

Texas Right to Life, a statewide pro-life organization, also opposed the statue by launching a petition earlier this month, in which it called for the university to remove the “satanic abortion idol,” and planning a protest on Feb. 28, 2024.
