Second-Shooter Theory in Trump Assassination Attempt Gaining Steam

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) As many Americans still grapple with the stunning Secret Service security failures that nearly led to the death of presidential frontrunner Donald Trump on Saturday, others are starting to consider the possibility that there was a second shooter with Thomas Matthew Crooks.

Headline USA was one of, if not the first, publication to report on a possible second shooter—citing an interview with a Trump rally attendee hours after the attack.

“What I’ve heard coming out is they feel there were two shooters, one on both sides. They got the one on the tower, but the one on the right side they never got. That’s why they wanted us to leave immediately: because they thought there was still a shooter out there,” said a Butler, Pennsylvania woman named Erin, who was in the front row at the rally.

As Headline USA noted in its initial reporting Saturday, eyewitness reports can be unreliable. However, others have come out of the woodwork to support the second-shooter theory. In particular, they’re building on Trump rallygoer Erin’s account of a possible shooter on the water tower behind Trump.

The most prominent person to reference the water tower appears to be Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., who referenced it Wednesday in an interview with CNN, which cut him off before he could finish his thought.

“You talk about the eagle’s nest. You also have—which no one talks about—the water tower,” Mills said before the CNN reporter interrupted him.

Anonymous Twitter/X accounts have also circulated footage of someone on the nearby water tower. The veracity of that footage hasn’t been established.

Footage aside, other purported rallygoers have added to the second-shooter theory, too.

“Those shots came from the back … Those bullets came from the back-left of Trump,” said one self-purported rallygoer.

Meanwhile, others have noted that at least three firearms were shot during the Trump assassination attempt. That information doesn’t necessarily support the second-shooter theory because it’s been reported that Crooks, Secret Service and a local law enforcement sniper all shot during the exchange.

Gold Reaches New Heights as Powell Hints at Rate Cuts

In the latest episode of the Money Metals Midweek Memo, host Mike Maharrey delves into the recent surge in gold and silver prices, driven by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s comments and geopolitical events. Maharrey provides an in-depth analysis of the economic landscape, highlighting key factors that have influenced the precious metals market.

Gold Soars to New Records

Gold Soars to New Records

Gold recently achieved an all-time high, closing at just over $2,468 per ounce. Silver also made significant gains, reclaiming the $31 per ounce level and closing at around $31.45. This rally in precious metals was largely influenced by remarks from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, who hinted at potential interest rate cuts during his speech at the Economic Club of Washington.

Geopolitical Events Stir Market Movements

Geopolitical Events Stir Market Movements

The market’s reaction to Powell’s comments was not the only driver of the recent surge in gold prices. The assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump added to the safe haven buying frenzy. Maharrey emphasized the importance of being prepared for geopolitical turmoil, noting that gold is often viewed as a safe haven asset during times of crisis.

“Did you have Trump getting shot at on your July bingo card?” Maharrey quipped, underscoring the unpredictable nature of current events. He advised listeners to secure their investments in gold and silver before crises unfold, comparing it to buying fire insurance before a house fire.

Federal Reserve’s Monetary Policy

Federal Reserve’s Monetary Policy

Maharrey provided a historical context to the current economic situation, recalling how Trump had previously pressured Powell to lower interest rates early in his term. He pointed out that while Powell had raised rates to 2.5% by the end of 2018, the rate was still relatively low historically.

In response to the economic instability caused by the 2008 financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, the Federal Reserve implemented significant rate cuts and quantitative easing measures.

Maharrey noted that Trump’s preference for easy money policies is likely to influence future decisions if he returns to office, including potentially replacing Powell with someone more aligned with his views.

Inflation and Economic Concerns

Inflation and Economic Concerns

Despite recent attempts to curb inflation, Maharrey warned that the inflation “dragon” is far from defeated. He cited the Producer Price Index (PPI), which rose by 0.2% in June, as an indicator that inflationary pressures remain. Furthermore, the PPI has increased by 2.6% over the past year, surpassing the Federal Reserve’s 2% target.

Maharrey also highlighted a significant rise in corporate bankruptcies, with 75 filings in June alone—the highest in over a decade. This surge signals underlying economic fragility and challenges the narrative of a robust recovery.

The Role of Gold as an Inflation Hedge

The Role of Gold as an Inflation Hedge

Gold’s role as an inflation hedge was a central theme in Maharrey’s discussion. He addressed critics who argue that gold has underperformed by pointing out that while gold’s peak in 1980 adjusted for inflation is higher than current prices, the metal has generally outpaced inflation over time.

The average price of gold in 1980 was $614 per ounce, which adjusts to about $2,200 today, indicating that gold is still ahead of inflation.

Silver’s Untapped Potential

Silver's Untapped Potential

While gold has been stealing the spotlight, Maharrey urged listeners not to overlook silver. Currently priced at $31 per ounce, silver remains far from its record high of over $49.

The gold-silver ratio, at 78:1, suggests significant upside potential for silver, with the historical average being closer to 50-60:1.

Conclusion: Preparing for Economic Uncertainty

Mike Maharrey concluded by encouraging listeners to invest in precious metals as a hedge against economic instability. He stressed the importance of preparing before a crisis hits, rather than reacting afterward.

For those interested in exploring investment options in gold, silver, or other precious metals, Maharrey recommended contacting Money Metals Exchange specialists at 1-800-800-1865 or visiting their website – MoneyMetals.com.

If You’re Going to Take a Bribe (You Shouldn’t), at Least Get Gold

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) At least he accepted bribes that would retain their value.

On July 16, a jury convicted Senator Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) on 16 counts, including wire fraud, bribery, and extortion.

According to the indictment, the senator and his wife took bribes, including 13 gold bars, from New Jersey businessmen with Egyptian ties.

According to court documents, the Sen. and Mrs. Menendez accepted the gold, along with cash and an automobile from three prominent Egyptian businessmen in exchange for the senator’s influence. Menendez also allegedly provided “sensitive U.S. Government information and took other steps that secretly aided the Government of Egypt,” as part of the bribery scheme.

According to the indictment, a June 2022 raid at the couple’s New Jersey home found “over $480,000 in cash – much of it stuffed into envelopes and hidden in clothing, closets, and a safe.” Police also found two 1-kg gold bars along with 11 1-ounce gold bars.

At the time of the indictment, U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said Menendez and his wife wielded “power and influence to protect and enrich the businessmen and benefit the government of Egypt.”

After the conviction, Williams said, “This case has always been about shocking levels of corruption.  Hundreds of thousands of dollars of bribes, including gold, cash, and a Mercedes-Benz. This wasn’t politics as usual; this was politics for profit.”

Menendez continues to maintain his innocence, saying he was “deeply disappointed” in the jury’s decision.

“I have never violated my oath. I have never been anything but a patriot of my country and for my country. I have never, ever been a foreign agent,” he said.

Menendez’s attorney claimed the cash and gold weren’t bribes but gifts to the couple in “lean times.” In his closing arguments, he asserted, “His actions were lawful, normal, and good for the country.”

Gold: A Solid Bribe

If you’re going to accept a bribe (and you shouldn’t) getting it in gold is the way to go.

According to the indictment, “Multiple gold bars provided by Daibes (one of the Egyptian businessmen) were found during the court-authorized June 2022 search of the couple’s home.” It also says the senator performed a web search for “how much is one kilo of gold worth.”

At the time of the indictment in June 2022, the spot price of gold averaged around $1,800 an ounce. Menendez received just over 81 ounces of gold in the bribery scheme. At the June 2022 price, it was worth over $145,800.

Here’s the kicker – gold holds its value and even appreciates over time. Unlike the $480,000 in cash Menendez received, the gold is worth a lot more today than it was then.

Today, those gold bars are worth $200,475. That’s a 37.5 percent increase!

Meanwhile, the $480,000 in 2022 cash is only worth $452,755 today thanks to price inflation.

During the Republican Convention, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) quipped, “Inflation has gotten so bad, you can no longer bribe Democrat senators with cash alone. You have to use gold bars just so the bribes hold value.”

Gaetz has a point. If you’re going to take a bribe (don’t), get it in gold.

There are some other advantages of getting bribed in gold instead of dollars. It effectively packs a lot of dollars into a very small space. It’s easy to store and transport. It’s virtually impossible to destroy. Gold is also liquid. Menendez wouldn’t have had any problem selling his gold bars — if he had not gotten nailed by authorities.

One word of caution: if you accept gold as a bribe (don’t) you should make sure the gold is real. There are a lot of shady people out there, and let’s be honest, if someone is offering you a bribe, they’re probably shady. So, you want to be careful so you don’t get scammed.

Let me be clear: you really shouldn’t take bribes. But if you do (don’t), get it in gold. It will maintain its value over time even in this crazy world of inflation!

Biden Appears to Forget Defense Secretary’s Name, Refers to Him as ‘Black Man’

(Headline USA) President Joe Biden appeared to forget Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s name during an interview this week, instead referring to him as a “black man.”

“It’s all about treating people with dignity,” Biden said during a sit-down with Black Entertainment Television on Wednesday night. “I named the secretary of defense … a black man.”

Biden went on to cite other examples of his diversity hires, including Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson.

This is not the first time Biden has seemingly forgotten Austin’s name. At an event in March where Biden announced the nomination of two female generals to lead U.S. military combatant commands, Biden commented, “And I want to thank the sec—the, the, ah, former general. I keep calling him general, but my, my—the guy who runs that outfit over there,” he said, pointing to Austin.

BET’s Ed Gordon asked Biden at one point what it would take to get him to consider withdrawing from the 2024 race, given the heightened concerns about his mental acuity. For the first time, Biden didn’t shut the door on the idea.

“If I had some medical condition that emerged, the doctors came and said you’ve got this problem, that problem,” Biden replied. “But I made a serious mistake in the whole debate,” he said.

“And look, when I originally ran, you might remember it, I said I was going to be a transitional candidate,” he added. “I thought that I would be able to move from this, to pass it on to somebody else. But I didn’t anticipate things getting so, so, so divided.”

Top Democratic leaders have been applying more and more pressure in an effort to get Biden to voluntarily abandon his reelection bid, despite the 81-year-old’s assurances that he plans to keep campaigning.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., have reportedly met with Biden over the past week to urge him to drop out.

Reports late Thursday suggested that Biden might be planning to announce his withdrawal from the race over the weekend, although he was not going to offer his support to the black woman he named as his running mate to take his place.

UPDATE: FBI Director Admits Gaming Account That ‘Previewed’ Trump Shooting Was a Hoax

Update: FBI Director Chris Wray admitted on July 24 that his bureau briefed Congress with false information about the shooter’s supposed Steam account. This story will remain unchanged, but the headline has been updated to reflect that the shooter did not own the Steam account that was said to have “previewed the attack.” For the full story on the FBI briefing Congress with disinformation, read this July 27 article.

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) On Monday, Headline USA published a story about the significance of the fact that alleged Trump shooter Thomas Crooks had an account with Discord—a chatting app used by feds, intelligence contractors and an assortment of bad actors to target gamers.

As this publication detailed, Discord is linked to multiple mass shootings and other terroristic events. This reporter has argued that investigators must look at Crooks’ Discord history to glean his motives and learn about others potentially involved in the assassination plot against Trump.

And sure enough, it’s now being reported that Crooks indeed “previewed” his attack on a gaming platform—not Discord, but a similar platform called Steam.

“At least once, [Crooks’s] browsing history signaled concerns about his own mental state. He also seems to have previewed his attack on Steam, a gaming platform he frequented, telling fellow gamers he planned to make his ‘premiere’ on July 13, the day of the shooting,” The New York Times reported Wednesday.

Crooks’s exact words were, “July 13 will be my premiere, watch as it unfolds,” according to Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich.

Heinrich and others have also reported on a second phone Crooks had with just 27 contacts on it. Observers have begun to speculate whether that device could have been the shooter’s “burner phone,” used to conceal his dastardly plans.

Despite Crooks having at least two phones, as well as accounts on gaming platforms, authorities continue to insist that he acted alone.

A Discord spokesperson also told the Associated Press there’s “no evidence” that Crooks used his account to promote violence or discuss his political views, while Steam didn’t immediately respond to a media inquiry from Headline USA.

Last year, NBC News reported that the Biden White House is “looking at expanding the universe of online sites that intelligence agencies and law enforcement authorities track.”

Around that same time last year, investigative reporter Lee Fang also published a story about how the U.S. government is partnering with private intelligence firms to spy on gaming chatrooms—revealing that the online spooks are particularly interested in conducting surveillance on teenagers.

Fang quoted an unnamed official from the Israeli threat intelligence firm CyberInt, who said: “I prefer to detect threat actors when they’re young or starting out at 14 or 15. That’s when I start observing and documenting their malicious activities. Because when they’re at that age or stage in their career, they’re a lot more careless and open. They tend to show off more.”

The latest information on the government’s targeting of gamers came in February, when the Government Accountability Office reported that the FBI increased its efforts last year to infiltrate gaming servers.

“Officials said in 2023, the FBI worked to increase engagement with gaming and gaming-adjacent companies for the annual meeting and on outreach efforts with the program manager,” the GAO report said.

“Officials said that as the FBI works with more companies, it continues to learn how companies operate, the type of behavior and content companies see on their platforms, and the extent to which companies report information as tips.”

Local Police Fired at Trump Shooter; Feds Still Don’t Know How He Scaled Building

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Channel 11 news in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania reported Wednesday that a local Butler sniper fired at least one shot at Thomas Matthew Crooks in response to his assassination attempt against presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.

Local reporter Nicole Ford cited Butler County District Attorney Richard Goldinger as the source of her information, adding that Secret Service snipers are still believed to have fired the kill shot.

The local officer is reportedly on administrative leave, which is standard protocol.

The local news report comes as federal and law enforcement are seemingly playing the blame game as to who’s responsible for letting Crooks scale a nearby rooftop with impunity.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle reportedly said local police were responsible for securing the rooftop, but Fox News interviewed a Butler Township Commissioner , who pushed back on that claim. The commissioner said local police were limited to traffic control.

“I was so frustrated and quite frankly hit my limit last night when I saw Secret Service saying it was the responsibility of the local police department. That’s absolutely not correct,” he said.

Meanwhile, the feds can’t even apparently get their story straight as to how Crooks got up on the nearby rooftop in the first place. The New York Times reported Wednesday that “there were conflicting accounts of how Mr. Crooks got up to the roof.”

“A Secret Service spokesman said Wednesday that he had climbed up to the roof on his own, perhaps by using an air-conditioner. Federal investigators believe that he did not use a ladder even though Mr. Crooks had bought one that morning,” the Times reported.

Cheatle is set to testify Monday about the Secret Service’s security failures. After some question about whether she’d agree to testify, Oversight Chairman James Comer subpoenaed her Wednesday—and she responded by agreeing to sit in the hot chair this Monday.

“Director Cheatle has agreed to comply with Chairman Comer’s subpoena and the hearing will take place as scheduled on Monday, July 22,” the Oversight Committee announced Wednesday.

“Americans demand and deserve answers from Director Cheatle about the attempted assassination of President Trump and the Secret Service’s egregious failures.”

J.D. Vance Appeals to Blue-Collar Americans in First Speech Since Nomination

(Elias Irizarry, Headline USA) Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, took the stage for the first time since GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump selected him as running mate on Monday during the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

On Wednesday, he was introduced by his wife, Usha Vance, who proclaimed that she was at a loss when asked to introduce him: “What can I say that hasn’t been said before?”

She described Vance as “a working-class guy, who had overcome children traumas that [she] could barely fathom to end up at Yale Law School, and a tough Marine who had served in Iraq, but whose idea of a good time was playing with puppies and watching the movie Babe.”

Finally, Vance took the stage to thunderous applause and the playing of America First by country star Merle Haggard.

Vance began by reminding convention delegates and guests about the historical significance behind the convention and how, just days prior, Trump’s life was put at risk.

“My friends, tonight, tonight is a night of hope. A celebration of what America once was, and with God’s grace, what America soon will be again. But instead of a day of celebration, this could’ve been a day of heartbreak and mourning,” Vance spoke to the crowd.

“For the last eight years, President Trump has given everything he has to fight for the people of our country,” Vance added. “He didn’t need politics, but the country needed him.”

Vance, author of the autobiographical Hillbilly Elegy, continued to describe his background, talking about how he was raised in Middletown, Ohio—which he called “a small town where people spoke their minds; built with their hands; and loved their God, their family, their community and their country with their whole hearts.”

However, he said that places like his hometown had been cast aside and forgotten by America’s ruling class.

Vance railed against trade deals such as NAFTA, globalism and overseas foreign conflicts, which he attributed to career politicians like President Joe Biden.

“When I was in the fourth grade, a career politician by the name of Joe Biden supported NAFTA, a bad trade deal that sent countless good jobs to Mexico,” he said.

“When I was a sophomore, that same career politician named Joe Biden gave China a sweetheart trade deal that destroyed even more middle-class manufacturing jobs,” he continued. “When I was a senior in high school, that same Joe Biden supported the disastrous invasion of Iraq, and in each step of the way, in small towns like mine in Ohio, or next door in Pennsylvania or Michigan, in states all across our country, jobs were sent overseas, and our children were sent to war.”

He blamed Biden for the policies that led to the United States being flooded with cheap Chinese goods, cheap foreign labor, and deadly Chinese fentanyl.

“Joe Biden screwed up, and my community paid the price,” said Vance, as chants of “Joe must go” filled the arena.

Appropriately enough, Vance’s speech came as news broke that Biden’s recent COVID diagnosis might have made him privately more receptive to the growing demands of fellow Democrats that he soon withdraw, ostensibly leaving Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket.

In a lighthearted moment, Vance spoke about his “mamaw,” a nickname he used for his grandma who raised him while his mother struggled with drug addiction. (Actress Glenn Close received an Oscar nomination for portraying her in the 2020 film version of Vance’s autobiography.)

The crowd was endeared and chanted “mamaw” in return.

Vance praised his mother, who sat in the same row with Trump, for being nearly 10 years sober from drugs and alcohol.

“Mom, I was thinkin’, it’ll be 10 years officially in January of 2025, and if President Trump’s OK with it, let’s have the celebration in the White House,” he said.

The running mate continued to rail against globalist policies and champion his vision for America First. He proclaimed his vision of buying energy and building factories in the United States, protecting the wages of American workers, fighting the Chinese Communist Party, and only sending soldiers to war when necessary.

Vance additionally fought against the notion that America is just an idea.

“One of the things that you hear people say is that America is an idea, and to be clear, America was founded on brilliant ideas, like the rule of law and religious liberty,” Vance said.

“But America is not just an idea,” he continued. “It is a group of people with a shared history and a common future. It is, in short, a nation.”

Vance continued to outline his beliefs in putting Americans first and supporting the blue-collar workers of Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Pennsylvania—all of which, besides Ohio, are battleground states in the upcoming election. Vance’s home state, although won by Obama in 2008 and 2012, has since flipped solid red.

“I will be a vice president who never forgets where he came from,” Vance promised.

“And every single day, for the next four years, when I walk into the White House to help President Trump, I will be doing it for you,” he added. “For your family, for your future, and for this great country. Thank you!”

Leading Russian Hoax Propagandist’s Wife Charged as Foreign Agent

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The wife of Max Boot, a Never Trumper and Washington Post columnist infamous for promoting the debunked Russian collusion hoax, has been arrested for allegedly acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government.

According to the DOJ, Sue Mi Terry, a fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations who previously worked for the CIA and the Obama White House, allegedly sold her influence to the South Korean government in exchange for luxury bags, lavish dinners and thousands of dollars.

Terry was arrested on Tuesday and charged with conspiracy to violate the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) and failure to register as a foreign agent, according to an explosive 31-page indictment.

News of the arrest first gained attention on Twitter.

Terry reportedly provided non-public government information to South Korean intelligence officials and allegedly used her influence to promote favorable U.S. policies beneficial to South Korea.

Terry and Boot have co-authored several columns for The Post, where Boot has frequently expressed his disdain for President Donald Trump.

In a column from 2019, Boot ironically headlined, “Here are 18 reasons Trump could be a Russian asset.” The joke writes itself.

In the piece, Boot salivated over conspiracy theories against Trump, repeating debunked claims that Trump worked for the Russian government. No evidence has ever supported these ludicrous claims.

Boot, along with his wife, has written pro-South Korean columns.

In a May column, Boot and Terry argued that a “nascent trilateral” relationship between the U.S., Japan and South Korea posed the greatest challenge to China. They mourned that Trump, if elected in 2024, would thwart this diplomatic relationship to counter Chinese influence.

Critics have questioned whether Boot played a role in the alleged acts now at the center of a DOJ indictment against his wife. He has not been charged with any wrongdoing.

“Did Max Boot, who has a foreign flag in his bio, do stuff like this for free, or was he getting paid by a foreign government to sell out his country?” tweeted Sean Davis, The Federalist’s editor-in-chief.

Echoing Davis’s sentiments, Conservative personality Mike Cernovich asked whether Boot was “laundering foreign propaganda” by publishing South Korean-related columns.

Trump-Vance’s Savage Response to Proposed Kamala Debate

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The Trump campaign dismissed calls for a debate between Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, and Vice President Kamala Harris, citing growing uncertainty about the Biden-Harris ticket.

“We don’t know who the Democrat nominee for Vice President is going to be, so we can’t lock in a date before their convention,” said Brian Hughes, a Trump senior advisor, in a humorous retort on Wednesday. “To do so would be unfair to Gavin Newsom, JB Pritzker, Gretchen Whitmer, or whoever Kamala Harris picks as her running mate.”

This statement follows Trump’s selection of Vance as his running mate and mounting calls for Biden to step down as the presumptive Democratic nominee for president.

Some Democrats claim Harris, a former senator and California prosecutor, could be a more suitable nominee, given her comparatively better ability to make the case for four more years of Democratic governance. However, polls indicate that Harris is equally, if not more, unpopular than Biden.

A BlueLabs Analytics polling memo in seven battleground states shows that while Harris polls better than Biden, she trails other Democratic figures, including Govs. Gretchen Whitmer, Josh Shapiro, Wes Moore and Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz.

The memo suggests that each of these Democrats could defeat Trump by 5 points across battleground states.

“Some of the gains are coming from winning undecideds and those previously supporting a third party. However, alternative candidates are also pulling votes from Donald Trump. All candidates continue to hold the Democratic base,” the memo, first reported by Politico, added.

BlueLabs Analytics concluded that voters are “looking for a fresh face.” Yet, Biden, who is 81, has been in public office since 1972, only taking a break after Trump’s rise to power in 2016.

Elon Musk Says He’s Pulling X and SpaceX HQs from California

(Headline USA) Elon Musk announced this week that he will relocate the headquarters for X and SpaceX out of California after Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill into law barring school districts from notifying parents if their child starts identifying as a different gender.

Musk has been previously outspoken against the bill, AB 1955, arguing last year that it would “force families and companies to leave California to protect their children.”

On Tuesday, the billionaire entrepreneur said he would be doing just that.

“This is the final straw,” he wrote on X. “Because of this law and the many others that preceded it, attacking both families and companies, SpaceX will now move its HQ from Hawthorne, California, to Starbase, Texas.”

SpaceX has its headquarters just outside Los Angeles, and X is headquartered in downtown San Francisco.

Musk similarly relocated Tesla’s headquarters from northern California to Texas in 2021.

California Assemblyman Chris Ward dismissed Musk’s criticism of AB 1955, predicting Musk won’t end up leaving the state.

“We’ve heard this heretical threat before when Mr. Musk announced he was moving business out of California during the pandemic only in reality to expand his operations in Silicon Valley,” Ward claimed.

“We are proud to have a state that both stands up for the civil rights of others, while also providing a thriving environment in which to learn skills and prosper in entrepreneurial life—just like the conditions that have helped his companies succeed,” Ward added.

Newsom also responded to Musk’s statement, sharing an image of Musk next to former President Donald Trump and writing, “You bent the knee.”

Musk fired back in response, “You never get off your knees.”

Musk’s jab at Newsom comes just days after the former endorsed Trump for the 2024 election and pledged a monthly donation of $45 million to his campaign.

Musk appears to have been heavily swayed by Saturday’s attempted assassination of Trump, to which Trump responded by fiercely pumping his fist and exhorting rallygoers to “Fight! Fight! Fight!” before being whisked away.
