Biden Reveals COVID Diagnosis after Hinting at Medical-Related Exit

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) President Joe Biden has tested positive for COVID-19 following a campaign event in Nevada, the White House announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Biden is experiencing mild symptoms and will self-isolate at his home in Delaware, where he is expected to “carry out the full duties of the office,” claimed White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

The statement was accompanied by a note from an unnamed doctor, who reported that Biden presented symptoms of a runny nose, a non-productive cough and general malaise. The White House boasted that Biden is vaccinated and boosted in the same statement.

“He felt okay for his first event of the day, but given that he was not feeling better, point of care testing for COVID-19 was conducted, and the results were positive for the COVID-19 virus,” the doctor wrote.

Biden’s COVID diagnosis came a day after he attended a campaign rally in Las Vegas, where he made several demonstrably false statements and committed multiple gaffes—something typical of his campaign.

During the rally, Biden lost his train of thought more than once, abruptly cutting his sentences with “anyway.” He also misread his teleprompter, claiming corporate-owned housing can’t raise rent more than “$55” when he meant to say more than 5 percent.

Biden’s COVID diagnosis coincided with his statement that he would only quit the 2024 race if a doctor recommended it.

“If there had some medical condition that emerged, if the doctors came to me and said you got this problem, that problem,” the 81-year-old president stated during an interview with BET News.

In a separate interview, Biden claimed that only the “lord almighty” would force him out of the race. Despite this, 19 members of the House and one senator have called on Biden to withdraw.

Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., once a staunch Biden ally, is the most recent lawmaker to join this list. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is reportedly making calls regarding potential plans to remove the president from the Democratic ticket.

Fueling Democrats’ concerns are suggestions that Biden is on his way out as a one-term president, paving the way for President Donald Trump to make a massive return to the White House.

Ex-Biden Comms Director: Dems Need to ‘Turn Their Fire’ on Trump

(Headline USA) Former Biden White House communications director Kate Bedingfield encouraged Democrats to “turn their fire” on former President Donald Trump just days after he narrowly avoided an assassination attempt.

Bedingfield made the comment during a CNN panel on Tuesday after being asked whether President Joe Biden should abandon his reelection bid as Trump continues to climb in the polls.

“[Biden] has said many, many times after having been questioned many times about this that he’s not stepping down and that he’s going to be the nominee,” Bedingfield said.

“So at some point, Democrats have to decide that they want to try to win this election and turn their fire on Donald Trump,” she added.

Immediately recognizing how inflammatory her comment was, Bedingfield tried to walk it back.

“I shouldn’t have said ‘turn their fire’—I apologize, that was not the phrase that I meant. They need to turn their focus on Donald Trump,” she said.

The remark comes amid increased scrutiny over Biden and the leftist media’s rhetoric regarding Trump following the attempt on his life at a campaign rally last week.

Biden himself was forced to clarify a comment he made to donors last month, when he insisted that Democrats needed to “put [Trump] in the bullseye.”

He told NBC’s Lester Holt, “It was a mistake to use the word. I didn’t say ‘crosshairs’ — when I said ‘bullseye,’ I meant focus on him. Focus on what he’s doing. Focus on his policies, focus on the number of lies that he told in the debate.”

However, Biden went on to justify making hyperbolic comments about Trump, insisting that doing so does not incite violence.

“How do you talk about the threat to democracy, which is real, when a president says things like he says? Do you just not say anything because it may incite somebody?” Biden said. “Look, I am not engaged in that rhetoric. Now, my opponent is engaged in that rhetoric.”

Leftist Media Want to Spike AP’s Iconic Trump Pic as ‘Photoganda’

(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) Left-wing media outlets are attempting to suppress the now iconic Associated Press images of former President Donald Trump standing defiantly with his fist raised following Saturday’s assassination attempt, Axios reported.

According to an unnamed photographer at a major news publication, it was imperative that the media stop the spread of the powerful image because it was affording too much positive publicity to the GOP presidential nominee.

The self-appointed information gatekeeper claimed it was “free P.R. for Trump,” adding that it was “dangerous for media organizations to keep sharing that photo despite how good it is.”

The photo in question is now known as the “Evan Photo,” because it was taken by Pulitzer Prize winner Evan Vucci. (There are at least two similar photos in the series, with Trump appearing to shout a battle cry in one, and another with his jaw clenched in a look of steely resolve or triumph.)

Vucci himself avoided taking a sharp political stance, seeming happy just to have taken an iconic photo.

“I was literally just thinking about doing the best possible job I could, because I knew that this was a moment in American history that I had to be at the top of my game for,” he told Fox News.

Still, other photographers have worried that Trump is engaging in “photoganda”—that is, using the image of himself standing tall after the shooting for political ends, when they allegedly took the photo for mere objective reporting purposes.

According to these other unnamed photographers, when the shooting first took place, “no one was talking about how these photos could impact public perception in the rush to get it out.”

But now, despite the millions of views of each photo, they are afraid that Trump supporters may use the iconic images for political ends.

“I don’t think we discussed enough about what these photos could mean,” they added, suggesting that they helped  “a propaganda machine,” by allowing Trump to be seen as a “martyr.”

When asked about the very photo by the New York Post on Monday, Trump confirmed to reporters that the image—which compositionally conjures to mind great works like Eugène Delacroix’s “Liberty Leading the People” and Joe Rosenthal’s “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima”—was a remarkable achievement.

“A lot of people say it’s the most iconic photo they’ve ever seen,” he said. “They’re right and I didn’t die. Usually you have to die to have an iconic picture.”

At RNC, Family Shares How Sister Was Raped, Murdered By Salvadoran ‘Gotaway’

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) After his sister was raped and strangled to death by a Salvadoran who was illegally in the country, Maryland resident Michael Morin said former President Donald Trump called his family. They have still never heard from President Joe Biden, he said Tuesday night at the Republican National Convention.

“Last year, we lost my beloved sister Rachel,” he said. “She went for a walk in one of our family’s favorite places. This beautiful trail was to us a safe place where we pushed our babies and strollers, where we walk together as a family, where my wife and I got married, near what would later become the spot where my sister’s body was found. Rachel, a joyful, accomplished athlete and mother of five, was raped and murdered” he said, by a Salvadoran national and MS-13 gang member who illegally entered the country multiple times.

The first three times the Salvadoran was caught by Border Patrol agents and returned to Mexico. The fourth time he illegally entered, he evaded capture, joining two million gotaways who’ve illegally entered under the Biden administration, The Center Square reported. Officially reported internal gotaway data totals are considered to be underreported by between 10% and 20%, authorities have told The Center Square, adding that they have no idea how many, who, or where they are. They also express concerns about how many violent criminals and potential terrorists entered as gotaways and are living in the country.

Rachel’s murder “was described as among the most brutal and violent offenses that has ever occurred in Harford County, Maryland, history,” Morin said. “Open borders are often portrayed as compassionate and virtuous but there is nothing compassionate about allowing violent criminals into our country and robbing children of their mother.

“My sister’s death was preventable. The monster arrested for killing Rachel entered the US unlawfully after killing a woman in El Salvador. Joe Biden and his designated ‘border czar’ Kamala Harris opened our borders to him and others like him empowering them to victimize the innocent. Yet to this day, we have not heard from Joe Biden or Kamala Harris. They never apologized.

“When Rachel was killed, President Trump called my family to offer his condolences. He wanted to meet with us. He cared. That is leadership. And we need real leadership back in the White House.”

Last month, Harford County, Maryland, Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler announced the findings of a 10-month investigation into Rachel’s murder after she was killed in August 2023 near Bel Air, Maryland. The perpetrator illegally entered the U.S. through the southwest border in early 2023 and was apprehended at least three times by Border Patrol agents – twice in January in New Mexico and Texas and once in February in New Mexico, according to reports confirmed by The Center Square. Each time, he was processed for removal and returned to Mexico.

On his fourth attempt, he illegally entered the U.S. and evaded capture, making his way into California. By March 2023, he allegedly assaulted a woman and her child in a home invasion and fled the scene. Los Angeles police collected DNA evidence but only had a description of the assailant, not a name.

Through DNA evidence and other work, investigators in Maryland and the LAPD linked the two crimes.

“Once in our country, and likely emboldened by his anonymity, he brutally attacked a nine-year-old girl and her mother during a home invasion in March of 2023 in Los Angeles … that was our first DNA match linking Rachel’s case to the one in Los Angeles,” Gahler said.

Working with federal law enforcement partners, investigators were able to locate the alleged perpetrator, 23-year-old Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and first-degree rape.

Investigators also learned he fled El Salvador, where he allegedly murdered a young woman before he illegally entered the U.S.

In July, Martinez Hernandez was indicted by a grand jury. He faces first and second-degree murder charges, as well as rape, sexual offenses, and kidnapping charges.

“We are 1,800 miles off the southern border. And American citizens are not safe because of their failed immigration policies,” Gahler said, referring to the White House and Congress. “This is the second time in two years that an innocent Harford County woman has lost her life to a criminal in our country illegally. In both cases, they are suspects from El Salvador with ties to criminal gangs. This should not be happening.”

Violent Salvadorans and MS-13 gang members are continuing to be arrested in the U.S., The Center Square reported. Violent crimes are continuing to be committed by Venezuelans released into the U.S. under the Biden administration, including violent gang members who are later arrested thousands of miles from the border, The Center Square reported. Nationwide, officials have reported on home invasions allegedly being perpetrated by criminals from Columbia and Chile, The Center Square has reported.

Michael Morin said, “for all those affected by senseless tragedy, I pray for peace. I pray that we hold worldly leaders accountable for safety and justice for innocent people. I pray that we make our country safe and secure in the memory of my sister Rachel who loved life.”

More Gobsmacking Revelations Reported from Congress’s Private Briefing on Trump Shooting

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The Secret Service reportedly briefed members of Congress behind closed doors Wednesday, answering their questions about Saturday’s attempt on the life of presidential frontrunner Donald Trump.

However, the news coming out of the briefing raises more questions than answers.

According to Punchbowl News, Senators were told that the shooter, Thomas Crooks, visited the rally site a few days in advance to scope it out. They were reportedly also told that 62 minutes elapsed between the time the shooter was photographed as being suspicious and when he fired the shots.

Furthermore, the members were reportedly briefed that 20 minutes elapsed between the time he was spotted by snipers and when Crooks fired the shots—grazing Trump, killing a firefighter and putting two others in the hospital.

However, Punchbowl didn’t report any of the Secret Service of FBI’s explanations for how Crooks could have successfully climbed the nearby rooftop and shoot at least two volleys before being taken out.

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle is set to testify before the Oversight Committee on Monday, while FBI Director Chris Wray will testify to the Judiciary Committee next Wednesday.

Cheatle, in particular, has drawn heavy criticism for her nonsensical excuses for her agency’s security failures. For instance, she told ABC News that she kept Secret Service snipers off the roof from whence Crooks shot because it was too slanted.

“That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there’s a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn’t want to put somebody up on a sloped roof,” she said.

“And so, you know, the decision was made to secure the building, from inside.”

Cheatle’s response came amidst revelations that law enforcement spotted Crooks roughly 30 minutes before his attack.

CBS reported more bizarre details about the incident Tuesday, including the fact that Crooks was reportedly spotted using a range finder. Additionally, his body was reportedly found with a transponder, presumably to detonate the explosives reportedly found in his car.

Biden Plots Last-Gasp Effort to Steal Power by Meddling w/ SCOTUS

(Headline USA) President Joe Biden is reportedly planning to endorse sweeping changes to the U.S. Supreme Court, including term limits for justices and an enforceable ethics code, despite having no authority to enact them on co-equal branch of government without passing a constitutional amendment.

Biden revealed the plan to a select group of Democratic lawmakers, according to a transcript of the call obtained by the Washington Post.

“I’m going to need your help on the Supreme Court, because I’m about to come out—I don’t want to prematurely announce it—but I’m about to come out with a major initiative on limiting the court … I’ve been working with constitutional scholars for the last three months, and I need some help,” Biden reportedly said.

The White House proposal would set term limits for Supreme Court justices, who currently receive lifetime appointments once confirmed by the Senate, as stiuplated by the U.S. Constitution. Other federal judges also receive lifetime appointments.

Biden’s plan reportedly would also force the justices to abide by a congressionally-mandated ethics code. Specifics about the ethical requirements and the kind of term limits Biden is considering are not yet known.

Biden is also considering a constitutional amendment to “eliminate broad immunity for presidents and other constitutional officeholders,” according to the report.

The amendment would be a direct response to the Supreme Court’s recent ruling that former President Donald Trump could not be prosecuted for actions that were within his constitutional powers as president.

Biden’s Supreme Court proposal would be a significant departure from his previous stance toward the judicial branch. Though others in his party have been railing against the Supreme Court for the past few years, Biden had, thus far, declined to endorse their proposed reforms, including a recent Senate bill that would have imposed an ethics code onto the justices.

Former President Donald Trump blasted Biden’s about-face, calling Biden’s proposed reforms “unconstitutional,” “illegal,” and a sign that Biden knows he’s going to lose reelection in November.

“The Radical Left Democrats are desperately trying to ‘Play the Ref’ by calling for an illegal and unConstitutional attack on our SACRED United States Supreme Court. The reason that these Communists are so despondent is that their unLawful Witch Hunts are failing everywhere,” Trump wrote Wednesday on Truth Social.

“The Democrats are attempting to interfere in the Presidential Election, and destroy our Justice System, by attacking their Political Opponent, ME, and our Honorable Supreme Court,” he continued. “We have to fight for our Fair and Independent Courts, and protect our Country. MAGA2024!”

Former Classmate of Trump Shooter Says He Was ‘Anti-Trump’

(Elias Irizarry, Headline USA) A former classmate of Thomas Matthew Crooks, the would-be assassin of former President Donald Trump, described him as part of a friend group that threatened to shoot up the school and was vocally critical of Trump.

In an interview with FOX News Digital, Vincent Taormina described the would-be assassin as “smug” and “arrogant” regarding his political beliefs.

“I brought up the fact that I’m Hispanic and, you know, I’m for Trump. And he said, ‘Well, you’re Hispanic, so shouldn’t you hate Trump?'” Taormina said. “He called me stupid – or insinuated that I was stupid.”

Taormina recalled the conversation from a class discussion over the 2016 election about candidates Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Donald Trump, and claimed he disliked all three of them.

“He just did not like politicians, especially with the choices that we had,” said Taormina. “He would just talk, talk and act like he knew everything, especially politics related—and he would say it in a tone that was like ‘I’m better than you.'”

Taormina said Crooks’ friend group threatened to “shoot up the school” and was known for being reclusive.

“Everybody was saying it was Thomas who made a threat, and it was that friend group. Everyone was mainly blaming the friend group, but a name that kept coming up was Thomas,” Taormina told FOX News. “And he never did anything, you know. I mean, he left school for a couple of days.”

The former classmate also spoke against rumors that Crooks was severely bullied in high school.

“I could name you a few students who were severely bullied, and I remember their names. He’s not one of them,” said Taormina, referring to Crooks.

According to Taormina, there were plenty of signs regarding Crooks, and he said that there was no way that somebody else couldn’t have seen it coming.

“Somebody should have known, because he was not a loner. And with both of his parents being counselors, how do you not see that warning sign?” said Taormina. “People are going to get their fares in order before they do something this bold and this drastic—and nobody saw it?”

The fallout from the assassination attempt at the July 13 Trump rally in Pennsylvania continues to worsen, as investigators seek to find a motive behind Crooks’ attempt on the former President’s life.

The assassination attempt landed the Secret Service in hot water, as the Department of Homeland Security reportedly sought to prevent a briefing between the House Oversight Committee and Director Kimberly Cheatle demanding answers over the handling of the incident.

Cheatle is still set to testify publicly before the Oversight Committee on Monday.

Sanders: ‘God Spared President Trump … because God Isn’t Finished w/ Him Yet’

() Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in her speech at the Republican National Convention on Tuesday that divine intervention was to thank for preventing serious injury to GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump last Saturday.

Sanders—the daughter of former Gov. Mike Huckabee, who now hosts a popular show on the Christian-friendly Trinity Broadcasting Network—said “God intervened” as Trump turned his head at just the right moment during the assassination attempt, leading the bullet to graze his right ear at a rally in Butler, Pa.

“God spared President Trump from that assassin because God isn’t finished with him yet,” said Sanders, who served as White House press secretary in the first Trump administration.

“He isn’t finished with America yet either,” she added. “With God as our Guide, and President Trump back in the White House, we will show the world that America is the place where freedom reigns and liberty will never die.”

Sanders also touched on several political points in the speech, saying that Republican governors were doing the jobs President Joe Biden refused to do .

“We’ve deployed the National Guard to the border. We’ve cracked down on crime and drugs. We cut taxes to give hard-working Americans a break from ‘Bideninflation.’ And we empower parents with universal school choice across the country,” Sanders said.

Arkansas lawmakers passed the LEARNS Act during the 2023 legislative session, which gives parents what are called “education freedom accounts” to attend the school of their choice. A recent attempt to amend the law via a constitutional amendment did not garner enough signatures to appear on the November ballot.

Sanders said her former boss, Trump, was the first president in her lifetime to take a hard line against China.

“And I’m proud to be the first and only governor in this country to kick communist China off our farmland and out of our state,” Sanders said.

Lawmakers passed a bill that prevents foreign ownership of agricultural land in Arkansas. One company was fined $280,000 for failing to disclose its ownership of 160 acres in Craighead County and must divest its land, according to previous reports.

Delegate Predicts Trump’s Union Gambit May Lead to Pa. ‘Landslide’

(A veteran delegate from Pennsylvania believes former President Donald Trump could win the state again come November—bigly.

“I have believed even before the debate debacle, even before the shooting, Trump would probably win Pennsylvania and would win it handily,” said Charlie Gerow, a Republican strategist, during an interview with the Center Square from the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee on Tuesday. “Potentially, it’s a landslide in Pennsylvania. He’s going to do very, very well.”

Trump narrowly won Pennsylvania’s electoral votes in 2016, besting Hillary Clinton by just under 45,000 ballots. In 2020, he lost to President Joe Biden by a margin of less than 81,000, despite having a sizeable lead on election night.

Trump’s 2016 win, however, was the exception and not the rule, Gerow said. The last presidential candidate to swing the state red was George H.W. Bush in 1988.

“That was a huge breakthrough for the Republicans and for President Trump, in particular,” he said.

Gerow owns Harrisburg-based Quantum Communications, one of the most well-connected political consulting firms in the state, and has attended every Republican National Convention since 1976. This is the first one, however, that’s invited a labor union on stage. In fact, on the first night of the convention, Trump invited two different labor-union leaders to speak.

“We grew up being told, oh, the Democrats are the working people’s party, and the Republicans are the silk-stocking rich elites,” he said. “Well, it’s really flipped on its head, particularly in my state where you see working Democrats, who’ve been that all their life, now not only voting Republican, but registering Republican and big supporters of Donald Trump.”

Sean O’Brien, general president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, said the same from the convention stage in Milwaukee on Monday night.

“The American people aren’t stupid,” he said. “They know the system is broken. We all know how Washington is run. Working people have no chance of winning this fight.”

The Teamsters represent 1.3 million workers—from newspaper reporters to zookeepers to police officers and everything in between—across the country.

It was Republican congressional support guaranteeing sick leave for unionized rail workers, however, that inspired O’Brien to endorse Trump—even if he was called “traitor.”

“I want to be clear: at the end of the day, the Teamsters are not interested if you have a D, R or I next to your name,” he said. “We want to know one thing: what are you doing to help American workers.”

Gerow said the historical moment illustrates the populist turn of the Republican party.

“And it does reflect the fact that you’ve got a much bigger tent in the Republican party than you’ve ever had before and it is growing,” he said.

DNC Says It’s Investing $15M on Turnout, Operations in 7 Swing-States

(Headline USA) Democrats are trying to offer political counterprograming to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, announcing $15 million to fund campaign operations in seven key swing states—even as some in the party have urged President Joe Biden to bow out of November’s election.

The Democratic National Committee announced Tuesday that it is investing $15 million in state parties, meant to help them open more field offices and bolster staffing.

The funding will let them add to the 217 existing coordinated campaign offices working jointly for Biden’s reelection bid and state parties that already employ 1,100-plus staffers in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, the DNC said.

The investments will pump nearly $3 million into Wisconsin; nearly $2 million each into Pennsylvania, Michigan and Nevada; almost $1.5 million in Arizona; more than $1.2 million in North Carolina; and more than $1 million in Georgia.

The outlay was planned prior to the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, which prompted Biden and his campaign to temporarily shift its reelection strategy. Trump nonetheless is attending his party’s convention and will accept his party’s nomination on Thursday.

Trump’s campaign has spent recent weeks opening field offices, including those targeting key constituencies, in conjunction with the Republican National Committee.

“We have paid staffers and volunteer-powered field programs in every battleground state, and they are expanding daily,” Trump campaign spokesman Karoline Leavitt said. “Our aggressive and experienced operation is focused on turning out votes and highlighting the contrast” between Trump and Biden.

The DNC for months has argued that its and the Biden campaign’s growing on-the-ground operation could help swing an election expected to be close. Still, top Democrats are trying to move past questions from within their own party that have persisted about whether Biden is up to continuing to seek reelection in the weeks since his debate debacle and despite the race’s shifting dynamics after Trump was injured last weekend.

Biden and his team have furiously attempted to reassure jittery lawmakers and donors, as well as skeptical voters, that, at age 81, the Democratic president can still win in November and handle a second four-year term. Nearly 20 Democratic lawmakers have nonetheless publicly called on Biden to step aside.

The DNC said the investments will fund new field offices and help state parties get more accurate data and better coordinate party efforts for down-ballot races.

“Democrats are leaving nothing to chance and investing heavily on the ground to ensure Joe Biden and Kamala Harris win this election,“ Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison said in a statement. “This election was always going to be close, and regardless of beltway media narratives, the entire election is going to come down to operation and turnout in the battleground states.”

Arizona Democratic Party chair Yolanda Bejarano said state officials and the Biden campaign opened a 15th coordinated campaign office in Arizona over the weekend.

“This election is going to be won at the doors, talking to people about the issues that they care about,” she said.

“This is perfect timing from my vantage point,” Bejarano added, regarding the DNC investment. “We need the resources to do the work, to hire organizers, to have town halls across the state, to get the message out through media buys.”
