Jay-Z’s Lawyers Challenge Rapper’s Inclusion in Rape Lawsuit after Accuser’s TV Interview

(Headline USA) Jay-Z’s lawyers asked a judge Wednesday to speedily extract the rapper from a lawsuit in which a woman alleges she was sexually assaulted by Jay-Z and Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs when she was 13.

The unidentified woman recently added Jay-Z, whose legal name is Shawn Carter, to her lawsuit against Combs in Manhattan federal court, alleging that she was attacked by the singers in 2000 after Combs’ limo driver offered her a ride to an MTV Video Music Awards after-party.

In their court filing Wednesday, Jay-Z’s lawyers cited a recent television interview in which the woman acknowledged inconsistencies in her story.

The filing came before Combs appeared for a pretrial hearing in his criminal case.

After lawyers discussed evidentiary deadlines, prosecutors told Judge Arun Subramanian that any new charges against the hip-hop mogul before a May trial would require minimal new evidence to be shared among lawyers.

In the criminal case, Combs has pleaded not guilty to charges that the Bad Boy Records founder coerced and abused women for years with help from associates and employees.

Combs, who has been jailed without bail for three months, hugged his lawyers and touched his heart as he acknowledged his children among spectators.

In the civil case, one of several filed against him, the woman originally asserted that she was raped by Combs at the after-party but did not mention Jay-Z.

Last Friday, NBC aired an interview in which she said she spoke with musicians Benji Madden and his brother at the party, and her father picked her up after the alleged assault.

NBC also reported that a representative of the Maddens said they were touring the Midwest during the VMAs, and her father said he does not recall what would have been a drive home of more than five hours.

Jay-Z has said the article proves that Tony Buzbee, a personal injury lawyer in Houston, filed a false complaint against him for money and fame.

Attorney Teny R. Geragos, representing Combs, has said the TV interview was a part of the “beginning of the end of this shameful money grab.”

In the newly filed court papers, Jay-Z’s lawyers wrote that the allegations “have caused incalculable harm to Mr. Carter, his family, his businesses, his employees, and his legacy.”

Buzzbee told The Associated Press via email that the plaintiffs’ lawyers planned to respond in court to the latest filing.

“They continue to file meritless motions that are contrary to the rules and which have absolutely no merit,” Buzzbee said.

Buzbee announced in October that he represents some 120 people, men and women, with allegations of sexual misconduct against Combs.

Jay-Z and Combs gained fame in the 2000s, emerging as wide-ranging entrepreneurs and two of the world’s wealthiest rappers. Earlier this year, Forbes estimated Jay-Z’s net worth to be $2.5 billion.

The artists have collaborated over the years, with Jay-Z featured on Combs’ debut album, “No Way Out” and Combs appearing on Jay-Z’s sophomore album, “In My Lifetime, Vol. 1.”

House Ethics Committee Secretly Voted to Release Matt Gaetz Ethics Report, Source Says

(Headline USA) The House Ethics Committee voted in secret to release the long-awaited ethics report into ex-Rep. Matt Gaetz, raising the possibility that the allegations against the Florida Republican who was President-elect Donald Trump’s first choice for attorney general could be made public in the coming days.

The decision by the bipartisan committee was made earlier this month, according to a person familiar with the vote who was not authorized to publicly discuss the matter and spoke on condition of anonymity Wednesday. CNN first reported the vote.

It’s a stunning turnaround for the often secretive panel of five Republicans and five Democrats.

Just last month, members voted along party lines to not release the findings of their nearly four-year investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct with minors and use of illicit drugs while Gaetz was in office.

Democrats had pressed to make the report public even though Gaetz was no longer in Congress and had withdrawn as Trump’s pick to lead the Justice Department.

A vote on the House floor this month to force the report’s release failed; all but one Republican voted against it.

Gaetz posted Wednesday on social media to express his frustration.

He criticized the committee for its move after he had left Congress, saying he would have “no opportunity to debate or rebut as a former member of the body.”

“It’s embarrassing, though not criminal, that I probably partied, womanized, drank and smoked more than I should have earlier in life,” Gaetz posted on X. “I live a different life now.”

Most Republicans have argued that any congressional investigation into Gaetz ended when he resigned from the House.

Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., also requested that the committee not publish its report.

Gaetz noted that he was not charged with anything.

“I was charged with nothing: FULLY EXONERATED,” he wrote. “Not even a campaign finance violation. And the people investigating me hated me.”

DOJ Wants to Prohibit Jan. 6 Protestor from Attending Trump’s Inauguration

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The Justice Department is opposing the request of a Jan. 6 protestor to attend Donald Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration, on the grounds that the female protestor poses a threat to law enforcement.

The protestor, Cindy Young, was convicted in August of four misdemeanor crimes related to her being on Capitol grounds on Jan. 6, 2021. She was sentence to four months’ incarceration and 12 months of supervised release on Nov. 24. Part of her sentence included a special condition of supervision that she not knowingly enter Washington DC or the Capitol without the permission of her probation officer.

Earlier this month, she asked a judge to “modify her conditions of release to allow her to travel to Washington, D.C. on January 20, 2025, to attend the inauguration ceremony.” In her motion, she said she “poses no threat of danger to the community.”

But the DOJ begged to disagree.

“Young presents a danger to the D.C. community, including the very law enforcement officers who defended the Capitol on January 6, 2021,” prosecutors argued in a Wednesday court filing, which was first reported by Politico.

According to the DOJ, Young interrupted the Electoral College certification by “chanting and overrunning the police line guarding the Main Doors.”

“The actions of Young and her fellow rioters forced the evacuation of the House of Representatives. That was not enough for Young. Young encountered the evacuating staff and members at the Speaker’s Lobby which was defended by a barricade of furniture and only a few officers,” prosecutors said.

“Fellow rioters passed up chairs, towards the officers, and smashed out the Lobby windows, resulting in the shooting death of a rioter who climbed through the window. Only then did Young leave.”

Prosecutors further argued Young’s presence at an event staffed by law enforcement would not only present a danger; it would also cause “further victimization for the officers who Young has publicly mocked.”

A judge has yet to rule on Young’s request.

San Francisco Hires ‘Fat Positivity’ Expert for Health Department

(Maire Clayton, Headline USA) The San Francisco Department of Public Health hired a “fat positivity” expert.

Virgie Tovar, author of You Have the Right to Remain Fat, shared the news Tuesday on Instagram.

“I’m UNBELIEVABLY proud to serve the city I’ve called home for almost 20 years in this way!” she wrote. “This consultancy is an absolute dream come true, and it’s my biggest hope and belief that weight neutrality will be the future of public health.”

In the role, Tovar will consult on “weight stigma and weight neutrality,” according to Fox News.

X users quickly took to the social media platform to call out the move.

“Are you kidding me?” one user wrote. “Who did the hiring should be fired.”

Others slammed the city for wasting tax payers money.

“California tax payer money at work,” one user added.

Some took an issue with the city’s inability to solve issues.

“So the goal is not to fix any problems,” a different user wrote. “Just to make people feel better about having them.”

Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk responded to the news of the new hire, and he questioned if it was real.

“This is real?” he wrote.

The End Wokeness account confirmed it was true.

“Yup,” the account posted. “She’s a fat rights activist.”

Tovar’s website described her as a “plus-sizes Latina author, lecturer, and leading expert on weight-based discrimination and body positivity with over a decade of experience.”

The 42-year-old’s social media was filled with “body positivity” content. In November, Tovar shared a story she wrote for Forbes which was a step by step guide on “how to host a size-inclusive thanksgiving.”

In January, Tovar stated she did not want the weight loss drug Ozempic and held up a sign.

“Ozempic is NOT something that every larger-bodied person wants,” she wrote. “Ozempic is NOT an excuse to stop fighting to end weight based discrimination.”

Trump Names Herschel Walker as Ambassador to the Bahamas

() Herschel Walker is having a big week.

Just days after the former football great announced on social media that he had graduated from the University of Georgia—42 years after starring between the hedges—Walker was nominated to be the next ambassador to the Bahamas by President-elect Donald Trump.

“Herschel has spent decades serving as an ambassador to our nation’s youth, our men and women in the military, and athletes at home and abroad,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “A successful businessman, philanthropist, former Heisman Trophy winner, and NFL great, Herschel has been a tireless advocate for youth sports.”

Trump helped recruit Walker to run for U.S. Senate as a Republican from Georgia in 2022, but he was defeated by incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock in a close race.

The contest had national implications as Warnock’s win gave Democrats a slim majority in the Senate.

Trump nominated three other prominent Georgians for positions in his administration.

Former U.S. Sen. David Perdue accepted an offer from Trump to serve as the next U.S. ambassador to China. Perdue unsuccessfully challenged Gov. Brian Kemp in the 2022 election.

Prior to that, he lost his reelection bid to now-Sen. Jon Ossoff in the state’s highly contentious 2020 election. The particularly unusual case saw the historically red state flip blue not only in the presidential race, but also lose both Senate seats, giving Democrats the majority for incoming President Joe Biden.

While Kemp and Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger refused to investigate allegations of widespread election irregularities in Fulton County and elsewhere, subsequent probes have indicated that there was likely widespread vote fraud due to illegal ballot harvesting and meddling by local election officials, both in the Nov. 3 election and in a Jan. 5 runoff for the two Senate seats.

Trump also tapped Kelly Loeffler—the former U.S. senator who lost race against Warnock in 2020 to fill the seat of the late Johnny Isakson—to lead the Small Business Association.

Former U.S. Rep. Doug Collins, who ran against Loeffler for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in 2020, was picked by Trump to serve as secretary of Veterans Affairs.

Report Links 15-Year-Old Christian School Shooter to Online Satanic Chat Groups

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The 15-year-old student who opened fire late Monday morning at Abundant Life Christian School in Wisconsin has been linked to Satanic chat groups known for grooming teenagers to commit crimes, self-mutilation and other acts of depravity—the latest mutation of a disturbing online trend known as “accelerationism.”

Natalie Rupnow, who went by the name Samantha, opened fire during a study hall, killing another student and a teacher, and wounding six others before killing herself. The information about her apparent interest in Satanism comes from online researcher “Bx,” who has provided Headline USA with reliable information in the past.

In an article on her Substack, Bx explained in detail how she uncovered and authenticated information about Rupnow.

On Tuesday, a journalist published Rupnow’s apparent manifesto, which came from the shooter’s Twitter/X account. Bx looked into the account, and found that it was following at least two accounts promoting Satanism and accelerationism. Those accounts were @GroidCell, which is linked to the Satanic 764 pedophile network; and @tempel0vBl00d—named after a Satanic cult, which happens to have been created by an FBI informant. The latter account has since changed its name, Bx said.

“But the most direct link to these groups came from Rupnow’s suspected Telegram account, ‘crossixir.’ Her user account was subscribed to a channel called @u0kaaa, which is descried as a 764 music and backup chanel,” Bx added.

Other indications that Rupnow was interested in Satanism—as well as Nazism—come from her manifesto. As Bx noted in her article, Rupnow references previous school shooters, a possibly abusive childhood, and hatred for other races.

“Never have I once brought this up to a therapist, anyone, because nobody cared at that time nor will now. I saw things around me and I layed on the floor not being able to move, I was overwhelmed and tired, Hard Breath, Things around me felt bigger than usual and I was faint,” the shooter wrote in her manifesto.

“Once in awhile I get that same feeling just I know how to control it, that one night I begged for my mother to help me but she was in the next room to me in her apartment where she was with her boyfriend, awake cause all I heard was her walking right past me, and my room,” she said.

“I was the wrong child of the family, my parents admit they didn’t want me.”

Satanism’s Threat to Western Society

Rupnow’s mass shooting appears to be the latest tragedy stemming from a phenomenon dubbed by researchers as “accelerationism.” According to the Justice Department, Satanic accelerationist groups such as the Order of the Nine Angles, 764 and their various offshoots have a terroristic goal: They want to corrupt the youth, which will accelerate the collapse of Western society.

In recent months, the DOJ has begun to treat Satanic accelerationist groups as gangs, warning the public of the threat they pose to teenagers in particular. Last month, after 764 member Richard “Rabid” Densmore was sentenced Thursday to 30 years imprisonment for sexually exploiting a child, the DOJ warned the public that “this case represents a new and depraved threat against our kids.”

“Members of 764 gain notoriety by systematically targeting, grooming, and extorting victims through online social media platforms. Members demand that victims engage in and share media of self-mutilation, sexual acts, harm to animals, acts of random violence, suicide, and murder, all for the purpose of accelerating chaos and disrupting society and the world order,” the DOJ said last month in a press release.

Before that, Headline USA revealed that the Order of Nine Angles was likely behind the arson of  three African American Baptist churches  in 2019.

Along with being known for Satanism, O9A has been in the news in recent years due to its links to right-wing extremism. O9A fomented several neo-Nazi terrorist plots over the last several years, an O9A-linked neo-Nazi participated in the 2017 Charlottesville Unite the Right rally, and one of the network’s leaders, Joshua Caleb Sutter—the one who started the abovementioned Tempel ov Blood—was revealed to be a longtime FBI informant.

According to the DOJ, the 764 group was an offshoot of O9A. The 764 cult “represents a radical shift in the group to specifically target children and use [child porn] and videos depicting animal cruelty, self-harm, and other acts of violence to accelerate chaos in society,” the DOJ said last year.

Fed Cuts Key Rate by a Quarter-Point but Envisions Fewer Cuts Next Year

(Headline USA) The Federal Reserve cut its key interest rate Wednesday by a quarter-point—its third cut this year—but also signaled that it expects to reduce rates more slowly next year than it previously envisioned, largely because of still-elevated inflation.

The Fed’s 19 policymakers projected that they will cut their benchmark rate by a quarter-point just twice in 2025, down from their estimate in September of four rate cuts.

Their new projections suggest that consumers may not enjoy much lower rates next year for mortgages, auto loans, credit cards and other forms of borrowing.

Fed officials have underscored that they are slowing their rate reductions as their benchmark rate nears a level that policymakers refer to as “neutral”—the level that is thought to neither spur nor hinder the economy.

Wednesday’s projections suggest that the policymakers think they may be close to that level. Their benchmark rate stands at 4.3% after Wednesday’s move, which followed a steep half-point reduction in September and a quarter-point cut last month.

“I think that a slower pace of [rate] cuts really reflects both the higher inflation readings we’ve had this year and the expectations that inflation will be higher” in 2025, Chairman Jerome Powell said at a news conference.

“We’re closer to the neutral rate, which is another reason to be cautious about further moves,” Powell said. “Nonetheless, we see ourselves as still on track to cut.”

This year’s Fed rate reductions have marked a reversal after more than two years of high rates, which largely helped tame inflation but also made borrowing painfully expensive for American consumers.

At the same time, the Biden administration continuted to promote the factors that largely caused inflation in the first place—notably unfettered government waste and spending, which went largely unseen by the American public, with much of it going to Ukraine, but still devalued American dollars as more unbacked currency was added into the general circulation.

Supply and demand also contributed, with the flood of illegal immigrants competing for resources such as housing and government benefits, putting additional pressure on lower- and middle-class income earners.

Now, the Fed is facing a variety of challenges to curb inflation without causing a recession. Chief among them is that inflation remains sticky: According to the Fed’s preferred gauge, annual “core” inflation, which excludes the most volatile categories, was 2.8% in October. That is still persistently above the central bank’s 2% target.

At the same time, the economy is growing briskly, which suggests that higher rates haven’t much restrained the economy. As a result, some economists—and some Fed officials—have argued that borrowing rates shouldn’t be lowered much more for fear of overheating the economy and re-igniting inflation.

On the other hand, the pace of hiring has cooled significantly since 2024 began, a potential worry because one of the Fed’s mandates is to achieve maximum employment.

“We don’t think we need further cooling in the labor market to get inflation below 2%,” Powell said at his news conference.

The unemployment rate, while still low at 4.2%, has risen nearly a full percentage point in the past two years. Concern over rising unemployment contributed to the Fed’s decision in September to cut its key rate by a larger-than-usual half point.

Asked why the Fed envisions any rate cuts in 2025 given still-elevated inflation, Powell noted that the Fed’s latest projections “have core inflation coming down to 2.5 next year.”

“That would be significant progress,” he added. “We’d be seeing meaningful progress to get inflation down to that level. That wouldn’t be all the way to 2%, but it would be better than this year.”

President-elect Donald Trump has proposed a range of tax cuts—on Social Security benefits, tipped income and overtime income—as well as a scaling-back of regulations.

Collectively, these moves could stimulate growth. At the same time, Trump has threatened to impose a variety of tariffs and to seek mass deportations of migrants.

Those measures to restore American industry, national security and sovereignty would drive costs higher in the short term, but not necessarily through devaluation of the dollar. Indeed, raising the cost of imported goods to incentivize American manufacturing when paired with reductions in spending elsewhere would likely have the opposite effect.

Powell acknowledged that Fed officials were seeking “to understand ways tariffs can affect inflation and the economy and how to think about that.”

He and other Fed officials have said they won’t be able to assess how Trump’s policies might affect the economy or their own rate decisions until more details are made available and it becomes clearer how likely it is that the president-elect’s proposals will actually be enacted.

Among those policies, of course, may be any decisions Trump makes about Powell’s role and the role of the Fed itself, with some saying the central bank is a large part of the problem.

Suffice it to say, the outcome of the presidential election has mostly heightened the left-leaning board’s uncertainty surrounding the economy—as well as that of globalists everywhere who stand to lose from the “America First” agenda.

“I’ve got the least amount of conviction about what will happen with the economy over the next 12 months than I’ve had in years,” said Subadra Rajappa, head of U.S. rates strategy at Société Générale. “This is going to be a work in progress as things evolve.”

Such uncertainty was underscored by the quarterly economic projections the Fed issued Wednesday. The policymakers now expect overall inflation, as measured by their preferred gauge, to rise slightly from 2.3% now to 2.5% by the end of 2025.

Inflation by their measure is now far below its peak of 7.2% in June 2022. Even so, the prospect of slightly higher inflation makes it harder for the Fed to reduce borrowing costs because high interest rates are its principal weapon against inflation.

The officials also expect the unemployment rate to inch up by the end of next year, from 4.2% now to a still-low 4.3%. That slight increase might not be enough, by itself, to justify many more rate cuts.

Many of the unemployed are likely to come from the government sector, which was artificially buoyed by the Biden administration, consistently comprising one of the largest areas of employment growth under the Democrat presidency, even as retail and manufacturing sputtered.

With billionaires Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy overseeing the new semi-official Department of Government Efficiency, federal workers are already in a panic over being forced to return to the office, and many fear that those who do not leave due to attrition will come under greater scrutiny over their actual value.

Most other central banks around the world are also cutting their benchmark rates. Last week, the European Central Bank lowered its key rate for the fourth time this year to 3% from 3.25%, as inflation in the 20 countries that use the euro has fallen to 2.3% from a peak of 10.6% in late 2022. The Bank of Canada also cut its rate by a quarter-point last week, as did the Bank of England last month.

Beth Hammack, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, dissented from Wednesday’s Fed decision because she preferred to keep rates unchanged. It was the first dissent by a Fed committee member since September.

‘News To Me’: Top Dem Celebrates Surprise Pay Raise in Tense CNN Interview

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., celebrated a surprise pay raise for members of Congress hidden among the more than 1,500 pages of a federal funding bill.

Late Tuesday, House Speaker Mike Johnson released the full text of H.R. II, which would grant lawmakers their first pay increase since 2009—at the taxpayer’s expense.

The bill, which would fund the federal government through March 14, would give members of Congress cost of living adjustments for their salaries.

CNN’s Manu Raju confronted Durbin, the second rank Senate Democrat, on the sneaky pay raise ensconced in the bill. He asked, “Members are giving themselves a pay raise. Do you guys deserve a pay raise?”

“Well, that’s news to me. That’s good news!” Durbin responded, eliciting a chuckle from the two women beside him.

Durbin bemoaned that members of Congress had not received a raise in more than a decade. The senator said, “it’s about time something’s done.”

Raju pressed the Democrat senator on his support for the pay increase, pointing out that the “performance of Congress” may not have been satisfactory to those funding their salaries—the American people.

Growing agitated, Durbin took aim at the CNN reporter and his network’s cratering ratings.

“What about the media? Think about that for a second,” the senator said before Raju pointed out that CNN is not funded by taxpayers.

Durbin admitted he knows CNN employees are not paid by taxpayer dollars.

“I know you’re not, but half your listeners are not there anymore and you’re still getting the same paycheck? What’s going on?” Durbin asked the CNN reporter.

After the exchange, Raju reflected on Durbin’s approval for members of Congress receiving a raise. He noted that the top Democrat was not aware of the pay increase inside the bill.

“It just shows you how this was negotiated among a handful of members and they’re gonna have to vote on this. And members won’t really have the time to read it either,” Raju said.

BREAKING: Florida Charges 2nd Trump Gunman  w/ Causing ‘Catastrophic Injuries’ to 6-Yr-Old Girl

(Headline USA) Florida authorities announced Wednesday that they’re pursuing a criminal case against a man accused of trying to assassinate President-elect Donald Trump for a car crash that occurred after law enforcement stopped traffic to catch him.

Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody said she obtained an arrest warrant for Ryan Wesley Routh, who already is being held on federal charges in the assassination attempt.

Moody said she is pursuing a charge of attempted felony murder for a crash that seriously injured a 6-year-old girl after officials shut down traffic on Interstate 95 as they tried to apprehend the suspect. A spokesperson for Moody said prosecutors will file the new charge when Routh is in state custody.

The multivehicle crash happened about 30 minutes after Routh’s arrest on I-95, according to the state’s investigation, but Moody said it was a result of his actions.

The girl, who was traveling with her family, had serious injuries, Moody said.

“When you couple those terrible injuries, together with his other criminal conduct, which we believe rises to the level of domestic terrorism, it turns his actions into an attempted felony murder case,” she told reporters.

Routh’s attorney declined to comment Wednesday through a representative.

Routh is being held on federal charges of attempted assassination of a major presidential candidate and gun crimes. He has pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutors say Routh methodically plotted to kill Trump for weeks before aiming a rifle through the shrubbery as Trump played golf at his West Palm Beach country club on Sept. 15. Before Trump came into view, Routh was spotted by a Secret Service agent. Routh allegedly aimed his rifle at the agent, who opened fire, missing all six shots—but causing Routh to drop his weapon and flee without firing a shot.

Routh’s arrest came two months after Trump was shot and wounded in the ear in an assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The Secret Service acknowledged failings leading up to that shooting but has said security worked as it should have to thwart the potential Florida attack.

Days after the Florida assassination attempt, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the state would carry out its own investigation parallel to the federal probe, with prosecutors pursuing the most serious charges available under state law.

It’s not uncommon for state and federal law enforcement agencies to run simultaneous investigations into crimes, as states may be able to bring charges that are unavailable at the federal level — and vice versa.
