CNN Host Abruptly Ends Segment after Defense of Biden Corruption Falls Apart

0

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) CNN’s NewsNight host Abby Phillip had a rough day on Thursday when her defense of President Joe Biden’s corrupt ties to Hunter and James’s business associates fell flat.

Phillip abruptly ended her segment with Rep. Mike Lawler, R-N.Y., and CNN contributor Scott Jennings after they successfully countered her suggestion that Biden did not enrich himself from his family’s business dealings.

“I’m still waiting to see the proof of Joe Biden enriching himself. I take his brother and his son, perhaps,” Phillip stated during the segment, which explored Biden’s claims of not being a wealthy politician. “Your colleague, James Comer, could’ve produced the evidence and he didn’t,” she added while addressing Lawler.

Phillip’s claims reflect a broader tendency within the legacy media to shield Biden from scrutiny regarding his family’s business dealings, which Republicans affirm were designed to enrich Biden himself.

Uncovered evidence found that 10 percent of business payments were to be separated for the “Big Guy,” which whistleblowers have come to disclose was Biden. Other financial transactions linked to Biden himself, as Lawler pointed out in his reply to Phillip.

“I’ll give you the direct link: a Chinese, a Chinese company transferred money to a shell company owned by Hunter and Jim Biden that then transferred money directly to Jim and Sarah Biden’s shell company that then transferred the money to Jim and Sarah’s personal account, who then immediately wrote a check for $40,000 to Joe Biden.”

Phillip appeared to overlook these points and instead made the assumption that, because Trump did not use the DOJ to pursue charges against Biden, the current president is somehow free of guilt.

“What I’m saying is that Trump was president for four years. He wanted to charge Joe Biden. Why did the charges not come? And I think that still remains an open question,” Phillip said. “If there is something illegal happening here, there should be charges on the basis of what you’re saying. And there have not been. And that is a fact.”

In response, Lawler quipped, “Well, he just pardoned Hunter for an 11-year time period.” Jennings, seemingly agreeing with Lawler’s comments, added, “He just wiped the slate.”

Overwhelmed by Lawler’s and Jennings’s fact-based arguments, Phillip expressed frustration, saying, “Hang on, guys!”

“Jim will be next, by the way,” Jennings remarked, referring to reports that Biden will pardon him too, similar to Hunter.

At that point, Phillip abruptly ended the segment, stating, “Well, we’re waiting for the charges. And when the charges come, we’ll have a conversation about that. I promise you that.”

Amazon Criticized for Editing Classic Christmas Movie

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) Conservatives recently criticized Amazon for editing the iconic Christmas movie It’s a Wonderful Life, removing the crucial part of Frank Capra’s work.

In the movie, the main character, George Bailey, played by Jimmy Stewart, tells his guardian angel, Clarence, that it would’ve been better for everyone if he had never been born. After that, Clarence shows him the dark and depressing world without Bailey to show him that his life matters and positively affects many people. After that, Bailey abandons the idea of committing suicide and returns home to his family and friends.

In one of the movie versions available on Amazon Prime for streaming, the part where Clarence shows Bailey the world without him was removed, eliminating the film’s entire point.

Breitbart reported that the abridged version of the movie was presented because the suicide scene was “too dark.”

The news source also revealed that the movie “has been beset with copyright issues after Capra apparently used the short story The Greatest Gift as the basis for the removed scene and never credited its writer for its use.”

“If you want to know what’s wrong with the world, Prime Video has an ‘abridged’ version of It’s a Wonderful Life that removes THE ENTIRE POTTERSVILLE SCENE where George sees life if he wasn’t born. That’s all that abridged. The best, most crucial part of the movie. Just. Wow,” Germain Lussier of Gismodo wrote. “Just beyond awful.”

Lussier then wrote that Amazon Prime offered both black-and-white and colored full versions of the movie, noting that the fact that this edited version exists makes watching it “weird.”

“It’s a Wonderful Life has been reduced to a Not-So-Wonderful Hour. It may be because Congress continues to daisy-chain extensions of copyright periods. As Clarence said,  ‘Strange, isn’t it? Each man’s life touches so many other lives.’ The same can be said of copyrights,” law professor and legal analyst Jonathan Turley wrote.

Self-described “grumpy American cartoonist” George Alexopoulos also mocked Amazon by remembering the ultra-woke Lord of the Rings series, The Rings of Power.

“100% unacceptable. That’s like making a Lord of the Rings prequel starring Galadriel as an action hero,” he wrote.

Gov’t Issues Photos of Biden with Son’s Associates Days Before Leaving Office

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) The federal government has released previously unseen photographs of President Joe Biden, then vice president, with his son Hunter Biden’s Chinese business partners, just days before leaving office for President-elect Donald Trump.

These photos, obtained through Freedom of Information Act requests by America First Legal (AFL), contradict Biden’s repeated false claims that he never interacted with his son’s business associates, including those tied to foreign governments.

One of the photos shows Biden introducing Hunter to Chinese President Xi Jinping and then-Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao. Another photo features Biden posing with Hunter’s business partners at BHR Partners, Jonathan Li and Ming Xue.

The National Archives delayed the release of these photos following conversations with representatives for Biden and former President Barack Obama, conveniently timing their publication just before the 2024 presidential election.

For years, Biden assured Americans that he never discussed or met with his son’s business associates.

A compilation of statements by the New York Post highlights Biden’s repeated denials:

“I did not interact with their partners,” Biden claimed, referring to Hunter and brother Jim Biden.

When asked whether he had coffee, lunch or dinner with the business associates, Biden flatly responded, “No!”

When pressed on another occasion about a poll indicating that nearly 70 percent of Americans believe he acted “illegally or unethically” in his family’s business dealings, Biden said, “I’m not going to comment on that. I did not, and it’s just a bunch of lies.”

When asked again about any interactions with these associates, he replied, “I did not. They’re lies.”

The National Archives photos are not the only evidence undermining Biden’s denials.

Additional witness testimony from Devon Archer, along with other photographs, shows Biden repeatedly meeting with foreign individuals tied to his family’s business dealings.

The House Oversight Committee uncovered that the Biden family operated several shell companies in a scheme that allegedly allowed foreign entities to funnel funds in exchange for access to Biden during his vice presidency.

In response to mounting accusations, Biden issued a sweeping pardon for Hunter, shielding him from prosecution for offenses over 11 years.

Biden also became the first president to use his pardon powers to erase Hunter’s convictions for making false statements on a federal gun purchase and failing to pay millions in taxes.

Jill Biden Named ‘Man of Year’ for Serving as Unelected Shadow President

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) The Washington Free Beacon, a conservative news website, recently mocked Joe Biden’s wife, Jill Biden, by giving her the “Man of the Year” title since she was the de-facto president of the country since the beginning of 2021.

“The American people know the truth. Sleepy Joe has been scientifically dead for at least two years, if not longer. His body [is] crippled by rigor mortis, his brain the color and consistency of fecal slurry,” the news source wrote. “That’s why we’re giving this coveted Washington Free Beacon Man of the Year award to the person who has actually been running the country this whole time: Jill Biden, America’s desperate housewife.”

The Beacon then stated that they would start calling her Dr. Jill Biden since she’s been “giving sponge baths, changing bedpans and administering the military-grade narcotics that allowed our nominal leader to present as semi-coherent in public settings” since Joe stepped into the Oval Office.

“Caring for a spouse with severe dementia is never easy, even for the vast majority of us who aren’t secretly in charge of the world’s largest economy and commanding its most powerful military, not to mention having to put up with a crackhead stepson who once called you a ‘selfish silly entitled c—t’ and ‘vindictive moron’ who ‘wouldn’t survive one class in a[n] Ivy [League] graduate program.’

Andrew Stiles of the Beacon also wrote on Twitter that Jill “finally earned the right to be called ‘Doctor’ after accumulating extensive experience as a home healthcare nurse while also serving as president of the United States.”

It was previously reported that Joe’s handlers had been concealing his declining mental and physical capabilities since 2020. While people at the White House were covering up the truth about Joe, Jill was doing her husband’s job by presiding over Cabinet meetings.

Judge Says Woman Accusing Jay-Z, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs of Raping Her at Age 13 can Proceed Anonymously

(Headline USA) An Alabama woman who says she was raped by Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs when she was 13 can proceed anonymously, for now, in her lawsuit against the rap moguls, a judge ruled Thursday.

In her written order, Judge Analisa Torres also chastised the lawyer representing Jay-Z for what she described as his combative motions and “inflammatory language” against the plaintiff’s lawyer, calling them inappropriate.

The Manhattan jurist said the woman can proceed anonymously at this early stage of the litigation, but she may be required to reveal her identity at a later date, if the case proceeds. That would allow defense lawyers to collect facts necessary to prepare for trial. Torres also cited “substantial interest” from the public.

Combs remains jailed in New York awaiting a criminal trial on federal sex trafficking charges. He also faces a wave of sexual assault lawsuits, many of which were filed by the plaintiff’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, a Texas attorney who says his firm represents over 150 people, both men and women, who allege sexual abuse and exploitation by Combs.

The lawsuits allege many individuals were abused at parties in New York, California and Florida after receiving drug-laced drinks.

Combs’ lawyers have dismissed Buzbee’s lawsuits as “shameless publicity stunts, designed to extract payments from celebrities who fear having lies spread about them, just as lies have been spread about Mr. Combs.” Jay-Z has said in a statement that Buzbee is trying to blackmail him to settle the Alabama woman’s allegations.

Buzbee said in an email that his firm does not comment on court rulings.

In her lawsuit, the woman who says she was raped at 13 identifies herself as “Jane Doe.”

She said she was living in Rochester in 2000 when she made her way to New York City and befriended a limousine driver who drove her to an after-party for the MTV Music Awards, where she says she was eventually attacked by Jay-Z and Combs.

Alex Spiro, a lawyer for Jay-Z, asked the judge to dismiss the entertainer from the woman’s lawsuit and he requested a hearing on the case for the day after he made his requests in writing on Dec. 18.

Citing an interview the plaintiff did on NBC-TV, Spiro wrote that the broadcast revealed “glaring inconsistencies and outright impossibilities” in the plaintiff’s story.

For one thing, the woman said she traveled for five hours from Rochester to watch the music awards show on a jumbotron outside the VMA even though permits and pictures show there was no jumbotron at the event.

Spiro also noted that the woman’s father has said he does not recall driving from Rochester to pick his daughter up in New York City, as she says he did.

The woman has admitted inconsistencies in her story.

Torres wrote in her order Thursday that Spiro, who has been on the case less than three weeks, has submitted a “litany of letters and motions attempting to impugn the character of Plaintiff’s lawyer, many of them expounding on the purported ‘urgency’ of this case.”

Referring to Jay-Z by his legal last name, the judge added: “Carter’s lawyer’s relentless filing of combative motions containing inflammatory language and ad hominem attacks is inappropriate, a waste of judicial resources, and a tactic unlikely to benefit his client. The Court will not fast-track the judicial process merely because counsel demands it.”

A message seeking comment from Spiro was left for him on Thursday.

2 Florida Tourist Spots Halt Drones in Shows Following a Separate Accident That Injured a Boy

(Headline USA) A theme park resort and a huge hotel in central Florida either have stopped using drones or canceled their drone-based shows after several drones collided and fell from the sky during a separate holiday celebration in downtown Orlando.

The accident injured a boy who required surgery.

Universal Orlando said this week that it was pausing the drone component of its “CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular” show, while Orlando World Center Marriott posted that it was canceling its scheduled drone shows during the holiday week.

The halt in using drones follows last Saturday’s accident when drones fell into a crowd of thousands of people watching a holiday show at Lake Eola Park in downtown Orlando. A 7-year-old boy was hit in the chest by a drone and required heart surgery, according to his mother.

The accident is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.

Orlando World Center Marriott said other activities for its “12 Days of Seasonal Fun” celebration would continue, including visits from Santa, family games and a fireworks show on New Year’s Eve.

The non-drone elements of Universal Orlando’s “CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular” show, put on at the end of the night, will continue with fireworks, projections and synchronized fountains accompanied by a soundtrack from movies, theme park officials said.

“Guests can still enjoy the show nightly at Universal Studios Florida,” the theme park resort said in a statement.

Comedian Plays ‘Ghost’ of Murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO in Netflix Comedy Roast

(Maire Clayton, Headline USA) Comedian Tim Dillon decided to dress as the murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO in an end of year Netflix roast.

The choice came mere weeks after Brian Thompson was murdered while leaving his hotel in Manhattan.

Prior to the release of the roast titled “Torching 2024: A Roast of the Year,” Dillon acknowledged how it might be perceived as distasteful.

“I promise you this is as tasteless as it looks,” he wrote on X Wednesday.

The comedian sported a similar outfit to the deceased CEO, wore makeup and chains around his neck as he tried to resemble him.

During his set, Dillon made comments regarding the murder as if he were Thompson.

“Your reaction to my murder makes me sick… and not the type of sick I would immediately deny for not having the proper paperwork,” Dillon said during his set.

The comedian continued and addressed the alleged killer Luigi Mangione.

“Look at yourselves dancing in the streets because that guy Tortellini Mozzarella took me by surprise like an unexpected medical bill and shot me in the back,” Dillon said. “Apparently he had his own back problems. I’m sorry Luigi but nobody feels bad for a thin guy with back problems. Claim denied!”

Dillon’s set had mixed reviews on social media.

“That is cringe. Not comedy,” one user wrote.

Others criticized the choice.

“Now we’re laughing at murders?? Way to go a**holes!!” one X user wrote.

A previously report found that 41% of adults younger than 30 believe the murder was acceptable.

The alleged murderer was also cheered on a recent episode of Saturday Night Live. Senator Ted Cruz criticized the crowd cheering for alleged killer Mangione.

“Charles Manson, woo hoo. Jeffrey Dahmer, yay. Ted Bundy, woo hoo. Like, what the hell is wrong with people?” Cruz said during his podcast.

Debate on X over Skilled-Worker Visas Pits MAGA Faithful against Trump’s Brain Trust

(Headline USA) An online disagreement between factions of Donald Trump’s supporters over immigration and the tech industry offered a preview of potential fissures and contradictory views his ideologically diverse brain trust could bring to the White House.

The rift laid bare the tensions between the newest flank of Trump’s movement—wealthy members of the tech world including billionaire Elon Musk and fellow entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and their call for more highly skilled workers in their industry—and people in Trump’s Make America Great Again base who championed his tough enforcement of federal immigration policies.

Musk, however, argued that critics either did not understand the point he was making or had misinterpreted his statements in support of expanding worker visas for elite candidates, something Trump also favored during his first term as president.

The debate touched off this week when Laura Loomer, a right-wing provocateur and investigative journalist, criticized Trump’s selection of Sriram Krishnan as an adviser on artificial intelligence policy in his coming administration. Krishnan favors the ability to bring more skilled immigrants into the U.S.

Loomer declared the stance to be “not America First policy” and said the tech executives who have aligned themselves with Trump were doing so to enrich themselves.

Much of the debate played out on the social media network X, which Musk owns.

Loomer accused the platform of punishing her for her criticism by suspending her account and revoking her “premium” blue check.

Loomer’s comments sparked a back-and-forth with venture capitalist and former PayPal executive David Sacks, whom Trump has tapped to be the “White House A.I. & Crypto Czar.”

Musk and Ramaswamy, whom Trump has tasked with finding ways to cut the federal government in the semi-public Department of Government Efficiency, weighed in, defending the tech industry’s need to bring in foreign workers.

It bloomed into a larger debate with more figures from the hard-right weighing in about the need to hire U.S. workers, whether values in American culture can produce the best engineers, free speech on the internet, the newfound influence tech figures have in Trump’s world and what his political movement stands for.

Trump has not yet weighed in on the rift, and his presidential transition team did not respond to a message seeking comment.

Musk, the world’s richest man who has grown remarkably close to the president-elect, was a central figure in the debate, not only for his stature in Trump’s movement but his stance on the tech industry’s hiring of foreign workers.

He sought to clarify that the remarks applied only to the most elite portion of legal immigrants, who would be assets to the U.S. economy.

Technology companies say H-1B visas for skilled workers, used by software engineers and others in the tech industry, are critical for hard-to-fill positions. But critics have said they undercut U.S. citizens who could take those jobs. Some on the right have called for the program to be eliminated, not expanded.

Born in South Africa, Musk was once on an a H-1B visa himself and defended the industry’s need to bring in foreign workers.

“There is a permanent shortage of excellent engineering talent,” he said in a post. “It is the fundamental limiting factor in Silicon Valley.”

Trump’s own positions over the years have reflected the divide in his movement.

His tough immigration policies, including his pledge for a mass deportation, were central to his winning presidential campaign. He has focused on immigrants who come into the U.S. illegally but he has also sought curbs on legal immigration, including family-based visas.

As a presidential candidate in 2016, Trump called the H-1B visa program “very bad” and “unfair” for U.S. workers. After he became president, Trump in 2017 issued a “Buy American and Hire American” executive order, which directed Cabinet members to suggest changes to ensure H-1B visas were awarded to the highest-paid or most-skilled applicants to protect American workers.

Trump’s businesses, however, have hired foreign workers, including waiters and cooks at his Mar-a-Lago club, and his social media company behind his Truth Social app has used the the H-1B program for highly skilled workers.

During his 2024 campaign for president, as he made immigration his signature issue, Trump said criminal illegal immigrants were “poisoning the blood of our country” and promised to carry out the largest deportation operation in U.S. history.

But in a sharp departure from his usual alarmist message around immigration generally, Trump told a podcast this year that he wants to give automatic green cards to foreign students who graduate from U.S. colleges.

“I think you should get automatically, as part of your diploma, a green card to be able to stay in this country,” he told the “All-In” podcast with people from the venture capital and technology world.

The comments came on the cusp of Trump’s budding alliance with tech industry figures, but he did not make the idea a regular part of his campaign message or detail any plans to pursue such changes.

9th Telecoms Firm Hit by Massive Chinese Espionage Campaign, White House Says

(Headline USA) A ninth U.S. telecoms firm has been confirmed to have been hacked as part of a sprawling Chinese espionage campaign that gave officials in Beijing access to private texts and phone conversations of an unknown number of Americans, a top White House official said Friday.

Biden administration officials said this month that at least eight telecommunications companies, as well as dozens of nations, had been affected by the Chinese hacking blitz known as Salt Typhoon.

But Anne Neuberger, the deputy national security adviser for cyber and emerging technologies, told reporters Friday that a ninth victim had been identified after the administration released guidance to companies about how to hunt for Chinese culprits in their networks.

The update from Neuberger is the latest development in a massive hacking operation that has alarmed national security officials, exposed cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the private sector and laid bare China’s hacking sophistication.

The hackers compromised the networks of telecommunications companies to obtain customer call records and gain access to the private communications of “a limited number of individuals.”

Though the FBI has not publicly identified any of the victims, officials believe senior U.S. government officials and prominent political figures are among those whose whose communications were accessed.

Neuberger said officials did not yet have a precise sense how many Americans overall were affected by Salt Typhoon, in part because the Chinese were careful about their techniques, but a “large number” were in the Washington–Virginia area.

Officials believe the goal of the hackers was to identify who owned the phones and, if they were “government targets of interest,” spy on their texts and phone calls, she said.

The FBI said most of the people targeted by the hackers are “primarily involved in government or political activity.”

Neuberger said the episode highlighted the need for required cybersecurity practices in the telecommunications industry, something the Federal Communications Commission is to take up at a meeting next month.

“We know that voluntary cyber security practices are inadequate to protect against China, Russia and Iran hacking of our critical infrastructure,” she said.

The Chinese government has denied responsibility for the hacking.

‘Shark Tank’ Investor Says ‘At Least Half’ of Canada Wants to Join Trump’s America

(Julianna Frieman, Headline USA) Shark Tank investor Kevin O’Leary said Thursday “at least half of Canadians are interested” in combining their country with the U.S. under incoming President Donald Trump.

Since winning a second term in the White House, Trump has repeatedly trolled Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that Canada will soon become part of America as its 51st state if the country does not heed to the incoming U.S. president’s demands on issues including the border and the economy.

O’Leary, a Canadian businessman, said in an appearance on Fox Business that he likes Trump’s proposal of combining U.S. and Canadian economies.

The Shark Tank star said he will soon start talks with the president-elect at Mar-a-Lago.

“There’s 41 million Canadians, basically the population of California, sitting on the world’s largest amounts of all resources including the most important energy and water,” O’Leary told the host, adding that Trump’s economic idea was a salient conversation topic among Canadians over the holidays.

He added that merging both countries’ economies could be the birth of an “economic union.”

“Think about the power of combining the two economies, erasing the border between Canada and the United States,” he said.

Canada has many valuable natural resources, according to O’Leary, who noted that China and Russia are “knocking on the doors” of the northern border.

He said combining U.S. and Canadian economies would secure the northern border and vouched for a common currency and changes in taxes.

“I like this idea and at least half of Canadians are interested,” O’Leary said before mentioning the problem of a collapsing Canadian government. “Nobody wants Trudeau to negotiate this deal. I don’t want him doing it for me, so I’m gonna go to Mar-a-Lago. I’ll start the narrative.”
