Willis Once Rebuked Dating Staff, Despite Steamy Affair w/ Subordinate

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, whose prosecution of former President Donald Trump has been marred by an affair scandal involving a special prosecutor, pledged in a 2020 video not to date her subordinates.

Shared on Willis’ Facebook page in 2020, the video features the then-district attorney candidate participating in the Patricia Crayton Show, where she vigorously campaigned against her predecessor Paul Howard Jr., entangled in a scandal involving corruption and sexual harassment.

“I will certainly not be choosing to date people that work under me,” she firmly stated. “We are at a place in society where things happen in people’s relationships — husbands and wives sometimes, there are outside relationships. I don’t think that that’s what the community is concerned about. Although there might be a moral breaking in that.”

The video, first reported by the New York Post on Saturday, shows Willis expressing concern about the public outcry regarding elected officials engaging in romantic or inappropriate relationships with subordinates.

“I think that what citizens are really, really concerned about is if you chose to have inappropriate contact with employees,” she continued. “There’s nothing I can say on it other than that it is distracting. It is certainly inappropriate for the No. 1 law officer in this state, and it really really saddens me.”

While it isn’t immediately clear whether Willis was directly responding to the scandal plaguing her successor, Howard Jr., was voted out in disgrace following a sex harassment scandal and a corruption scandal involving granting taxpayer-funded money to non-profits he directly led.

The 2020 remarks stand in stark contrast to Willis’ alleged actions as district attorney. According to a scathing legal motion filed by Michael Roman, one of the 18 co-defendants in the Georgia election case, Willis had an affair with Special Prosecutor Nathan Wade, whom Willis herself hired to prosecute the election case.

Willis’ office paid Wade a staggering $653,000 for his work in the investigation of Trump, ultimately leading to RICO charges. The filing stated that Willis personally benefited from the contract, as she took several vacation trips paid for by Wade.

Disturbingly, Willis allegedly failed to disclose such a relationship to the judge overseeing the Trump case. Wade’s estranged wife is subpoenaing Willis in the couple’s divorce proceedings.

Willis has not denied being involved in an affair with Wade, nor has she denied taking the trips paid for by Wade, who was simultaneously receiving funds from the taxpayer-funded contract.

Willis will have to respond to Roman’s motion on Feb. 15.

Stefanik Dunks on Haley in Major Pro-Trump Campaign Appearance

(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., took to the campaign trail in New Hampshire to support former President Donald Trump, the leading contender for the Republican presidential nomination. Simultaneously, she criticized former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, another Republican contender.

During her Saturday appearance at the Trump campaign HQ, Stefanik declared that selecting Haley as Trump’s running mate would be an error. This assertion stems from Stefanik’s observation of what she described as Haley’s “vicious attacks on Trump every single day,” as reported by the New York Post.

“It’s a non-starter. It’s a non-starter for voters,” Stefanik emphasized, referring to the prospect of Trump selecting Haley as his running mate. Stefanik, a rumored Trump favorite for the vice-presidential nomination, did not rule out the possibility of being chosen herself. But said that whoever Trump picks would be the “right” decision.

“He’s going to make the right decision. I trust him to make the right decision for him. So he’s going to look for qualities that he thinks are important,” Stefanik stated, expressing her willingness to serve in any capacity in a potential Trump administration. “I’d be proud to serve in a Trump administration in any capacity.”

In contrast, Haley, currently trailing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in New Hampshire, firmly rejected questions from the media about joining Trump as his running mate.

“I’ve said from the very beginning: I don’t play for second. I don’t want to be anybody’s vice president. That is off the table,” she declared on Friday.

However, the likelihood of such an offer seems slim, as Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., and some of his strongest allies, including Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz, vehemently oppose Haley as a potential running mate. They point to her focus on foreign policy and ties to the Republican establishment, diverging from the MAGA and America First agendas.

DeSantis, second-ranking Republican contender, also declined the potential vice-presidential offer, expressing a preference to remain as governor until 2026 when his term expires. He stated that he would support Trump if he secured the Republican nomination.

Fla. Wants to Ban Political Flags at Public Schools, Universities, Gov. Buildings

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A Florida bill prohibited the flying of any political flags at government entities, including public schools, and prevented those entities from taking a side on different political issues.

Rep. David Borrero, R-Fla., introduced a bill, HB 901, that would prohibit a “government entity” from flying a political flag and require such entities to remain neutral when it comes to the representation of political viewpoints.

A government entity is defined as a “local government, or another unit of local government” which includes public schools, public colleges and public universities, according to the bill’s text.

The government entity specifically may not “erect or display a flag that represents a political viewpoint, including, but not limited to, a politically partisan, racial, sexual orientation and gender or political ideology viewpoint,” the bill said.

In addition to that, the governmental entity must also “remain neutral” when representing political viewpoints by “displaying or erecting a flag.”

With Republicans holding a majority in both Florida’s House and Senate, the bill passed a rule of law subcommittee hearing with a 9-4 vote along party lines, according to Blaze Media.

Borrero said during the hearing that students are being “subliminally indoctrinated” by the flags flying at their schools, colleges and universities.

“The premise for this bill is very simple, and one that we should all agree with on this committee — our taxpayer dollars should not be subsidizing political speech in government buildings and classrooms. It’s time we stopped letting local governments and public school teachers from using classrooms in government buildings as their indoctrination pulpit,” he said.

In addition to that, the bill would prohibit teachers or government employees from wearing or displaying partisan political merchandise in their workplace.

“Public classrooms should not be the place where our kids go to be radicalized and evangelized into accepting these partisan, radical ideologies. It’s wholly inappropriate to be putting those types of flags in front of public school students and government buildings,” he added.

9/11 Victim Remains Identified More than 22 Years After Terrorist Attack

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) New York City officials positively identified the remains of one of the victims of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, more than two decades later.

Democratic New York City Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jason Graham released a joint statement on Jan. 18, 2024, in which they announced that advancements in DNA testing involving “next-generation sequencing technology” allowed officials to identify the remains of John Ballantine Niven.

Niven, a husband and father of a then-18-month-old boy, named after him, was 44 years old when he died that day, according to Blaze Media. He was the senior vice president in mergers and acquisitions at AON Risk Services, an insurance company that was located on the 105th floor of the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

“It is certainly emotional for me, and I’m sure many others, to hear many years later that DNA has been found. It’s a real tribute to the City of New York and the teams working behind the scenes all these years to honor that mantra ‘Never Forget.’ My son and I are so appreciative of this tremendous endeavor,” Ellen Niven, the widow, responded to the news in an email.

Both Adams and Graham issued their statements honoring Niven and the city officials, without whom the identification of Niven would not be possible.

“While the pain from the enormous losses on September 11th never leaves us, the possibility of new identifications can offer solace to the families of victims. I’m grateful for the ongoing work from the Office of Chief Medical Examiner that honors the memory of John Ballantine Niven and all those we lost,” Adams said.

In his statement, Graham also promised that other people who were murdered on that day would be identified as well.

“Our solemn promise to find answers for families using the latest advances in science stands as strong today as in the immediate days after the World Trade Center attacks. This new identification attests to our agency’s unwavering commitment and the determination of our scientists,” he said.

Facebook Hires New Censor for ‘Voting Rights and Elections’ Post

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) One of the Big Tech social media platforms, Meta’s Facebook, decided to increase its censorship efforts right before the 2024 election, which is proved by their job listing on LinkedIn for “voting rights & elections.”

This grants a reasonable suspicion after the tyrannical social media platforms censored the Hunter Biden laptop story just before the 2020 election, according to National File.

The job description detailed a position under Meta’s Civil Rights Team with an expected “expertise in voting rights, elections and democracy issues.”

In its original post on LinkedIn, the Big Tech platform added that the scope of the job will include research, analysis and communication strategy overseen by Roy Austin, VP and Deputy GC, CR and Legal Manager.

In addition to that, the listing went on to detail Meta’s Civil Rights Team, writing that it will act to “intersect with company policies and practices” to “address threats to voting rights, elections and civic participation, primarily in the United States.”

This would entail “research and analysis… of voting laws and civic participation, impacts of voter suppression and intimidation, particularly on historically marginalized communities and current threats to elections and well-functioning democracy,” Meta wrote in the description.

Among other job duties that were listed on the job listing were “summarizing and communicating developments in voting rights and elections, and risks to voters and elections in the US 24 context,” “[preparing] [and analyzing] memos” and “collaborating with the Civil Rights Team to instill civil rights’ best practices on voting and elections within the company.”

“[Contributing] relevant voting rights and elections analysis, research and content to documents and other resources,” “[developing] and [supporting] voting and elections priorities and strategic projects” and “[supporting] engagements with other voting and elections experts” were also among the job duties.

To qualify for this software development position, a person must have a law degree, which is one of the minimum qualifications.

“At Meta, we have a responsibility to everyone who uses our services to amplify the good and mitigate the harm… The Civil Rights Team recognizes the potential to help increase voter participation and civic engagement… We also understand the elevated risk environment and the need to counter threats to voting and elections, particularly when targeted at systematically marginalized communities,” Meta’s mission statement said.

Former Teacher Sentenced to 17 Years in Prison for Child Porn

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) It was revealed that a former teacher in Hawaii who previously mocked conservatives online for accusing the leftists of promoting pedophilia was sentenced to 17 years in prison for producing and distributing child pornography.

35-year-old Alden Bunag was convicted of sharing videos of himself having sex with a former student who was 13 years old at the time, according to Blaze Media. In addition to the prison time, the court ruled that Bunag must pay $30,000 in restitution and serve 15 years of supervised release.

Before he was arrested, Bunag was expressing his explicit hatred against conservatives, specifically accusing them of secretly being pedophiles while tossing accusations against their political opponents.

“You’re f***ing acting like we want to show kids porn or something, but something I’ve learned through the years is that whenever right-wingers accuse others of something, it’s DEFINITELY because they’re projecting,” he wrote.

In another Twitter post, he admitted that he was helping destroy Western civilization by “trying to tear down gender roles and subtly instill socialist values into [his] high schoolers and elementary kids.”

In addition to that, Bunag defended the use of pro-LGBT books in public schools against people who opposed them for their explicitly pornographic nature.

His Twitter account has been suspended since his arrest, the news source added.

Bunag sent more than 3,300 messages to a teacher in Philadelphia, many of which contained photographs and videos of child pornography, federal prosecutors said. The other teacher was arrested in October of last year.

Bunag worked as a summer school teacher at Pearl City High School and other schools in Hawaii. On social media, he identified himself as a socialist.

“Bunag’s sentence reflects the horrendous nature of the crimes he committed, including against a child for whom the classroom became a place of torture rather than learning and nurturing,” U.S. attorney Clare E. Connors’s statement said.

In addition to the child pornography charges, the pedophile also faced charges of sex with a minor, with a plea deal being expected in that case as well.

Far-Left Org. Trains Teachers on Incorporating Pro-Palestine ‘Narratives’ In Classrooms

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) A parental rights group revealed that a pro-Palestinian group that previously downplayed Hamas’s terrorist attacks against Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, trained teachers in Oakland, Calif., on Jan. 20, 2024, to incorporate “Palestinian history, narratives, and culture into K-12 classrooms.”

The Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) held its training called “Palestine in Our Classrooms: Teaching to the Moment — 75 Years of Resistance, Resilience, and Sumood,” according to a flyer by Parents Defending Education.

The organization was previously criticized for both its response to the Oct. 7, 2023, terrorist attacks and ties to the Democratic Socialists of America.

The training began at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 4:00 p.m. at an undisclosed location in Oakland for $25 per person. Among the highlights of the training were hearing “Palestinian and Arab Youth speak” on “the effects of invisibility and silencing,” “teaching Palestine through the arts — hip-hop to murals,” “multiple perspectives framework for teaching Palestine — focus on Gaza” and “teaching about Palestine through stories — designed for k-5 educators.”

The training was just an attempt to politicize the classroom, Parents Defending Education director for outreach Erika Sanzi said.

“There is no reason for K-5 teachers to be talking about any of this with their students. The Teach Palestine organization is providing this training because it sees teachers as a vehicle for indoctrinating young children into their geopolitical worldview during the hours they are away from their parents. It is a definite red flag,” she said.

The day after the terror attacks on Israel happened, MECA organized a pro-Palestinian rally in San Francisco.

“We are witnessing the people of Gaza rising up to respond to decades of Israeli settler colonial violence. The US govt bears responsibility for its political, economic & military support of this brutal apartheid regime. Join us to stand in solidarity with Palestine,” the organization wrote.

In addition to that, MECA was also associated with the Democratic Socialists of America summer training on “Educators for Palestine,” with Jody Sokolower, a co-coordinator of the Teach Palestine Project at the Middle East Children’s Alliance (MECA) and a co-founder of the Coalition for Liberated Ethnic Studies (CLES) facilitating one of the sessions.

House Republicans Have the Votes to Impeach Mayorkas, Green Says

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) – House Republicans have the votes to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, U.S. Rep. Mark Green, MD, R-Tenn., said Thursday.

Green, who chairs the House Committee on Homeland Security, said all 18 Republican committee members support impeaching him.

Three articles of impeachment have been filed against Mayorkas alleging he is derelict in duty, violating laws established by Congress, and creating a national security threat.

Last November, the House voted to refer the latest impeachment resolution to Green’s committee. After the vote, Green said he needed to convince eight Republicans “to get rid of Mayorkas. He’s derelict in his duty. He’s broken the laws of the United States passed by Congress. He’s lied to Congress, he’s got to go.”

He also scheduled three additional hearings in January after the committee held multiple hearings last year with the intent of gathering more evidence to impeach Mayorkas.

On Jan. 10, the committee held its first impeachment proceeding hearing this year at which three state attorneys general said Congress has the constitutional authority and duty to impeach Mayorkas. On Jan. 11, a subcommittee hearing was held on Mayorkas’ alleged failure to enforce the law against Chinese forced labor.

On Thursday, mothers testified about losing their children to fentanyl poisoning and murder, blaming Mayorkas’ policies for their deaths.

After the hearing, Green said he had support he needed to impeach.

“After our nearly year-long investigation and subsequent impeachment proceedings, and having exhausted all other options to hold him accountable, it is unmistakably clear to all of us – and to the American people – that Congress must exercise its constitutional duty and impeach Secretary Mayorkas,” he said. “The Secretary has consistently, willfully and systemically refused to follow the laws passed by Congress, abused his authority, and breached the trust of Congress and the American people on numerous occasions. The result of his failure to fulfill his oath of office has been a border crisis that is unprecedented in American history – a crisis that has cost the lives of thousands of Secretary Mayorkas’ fellow Americans.”

Over the past year, the committee has heard from more than two dozen witnesses and published five reports to support its case.

The first report details the laws and court orders the committee says Mayorkas “ignored, abused or failed to follow.” The second describes how Mexican cartels “have seized unprecedented control at the Southwest border to smuggle illegal aliens, criminals, suspected terrorists, and deadly fentanyl and other drugs into the United States.” The third describes how transnational gangs are working with cartel operatives to oversee a massive human smuggling operation, and expand their weapons arsenals and criminal network.

The fourth estimated the border crisis cost U.S. taxpayers over $451 billion. The fifth highlights “consistent misuse and abuse of taxpayer resources” related to Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention and halting border wall construction.

The committee also published more than 65 pages of transcripts from interviews with over nine Border Patrol chiefs who testified under oath about the consequences of Mayorkas’ policies.

The reports “conclusively establish that Secretary Mayorkas is chiefly responsible for the chaos and devastation that has unfolded at America’s borders over the past three years,” Green said, adding that “throughout the process, Secretary Mayorkas has refused to cooperate” with committee requests to appear and provide testimony.

Democrats have argued the hearings are “a joke” and political ploy. Even as more than 10 million people illegally entered the U.S. from January 2021 to September 2023, under Mayorkas’ watch, the secretary maintained the border is secure. Mayorkas also says that he inherited problems from the previous administration and testified at a Senate hearing, “I have unflinching confidence in the integrity of my conduct.”

After articles of impeachment were filed last year, a DHS spokesperson told The Center Square: “Members of Congress can do better than point the finger at someone else; they should come to the table and work on solutions for our broken system and outdated laws, which they have not updated in over 40 years,” adding that Mayorkas “has no plans to resign.”

“None of the alleged grounds is factually accurate, and even if they were, none meet the Constitutional standard of treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors,” the spokesperson said.

Green has said the committee plans to mark up existing articles of impeachment prior to releasing a final resolution and call for a vote.

DEA Seizes Greatest Amount of Fentanyl in Agency History in 2023

(Bethany Blankley, The Center Square) – U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents in 2023 seized more than 77 million fentanyl pills and nearly 12,000 pounds of fentanyl powder – the most the DEA has ever seized in a single year.

The quantity translates to more than 386 million deadly doses of fentanyl – enough to kill more than everyone in the United States.

Last year, as the agency celebrated its 50th anniversary, it also transformed its organization and strategy, it said, “to meet this extraordinary moment in time as the United States confronts the deadliest drug threat our country has ever faced – fentanyl.”

But their efforts weren’t enough to keep up with the supply pouring into the U.S. from the southern border, where the drug is manufactured in Mexico using precursors shipped from China, it said. And the potency of drugs they are seizing is more deadly than before.

“The dedicated women and men of DEA are doing everything in our power to battle the fentanyl scourge that is destroying our communities, but we’re essentially drinking water from a firehose,” Special Agent in Charge J. Todd Scott, head of DEA’s Louisville Field Division, said in a statement. “This is not a problem that can be solved by law enforcement alone.”

The DEA says the unprecedented threat of fentanyl “that is flooding our country” is largely being created by two Mexican drug cartels: the Sinaloa and Jalisco cartels. In response, the DEA created a new “strategic layer of Counter Threat Teams to focus on each cartel and the illicit finance networks that fund them both.” The teams use intelligence gathered from 334 DEA offices worldwide “to map the cartels’ global networks and to identify targets for investigation and prosecution,” it said.

While the cartels’ operations are based in Mexico, DEA has identified more than 50 countries where they operate and traced their global supply chain worldwide. The DEA also explained the process of how fentanyl pours into the U.S.: cartels purchase chemicals from Chinese companies, which are shipped to Mexico and then mass produce fentanyl in Mexico. They then traffic and distribute finished fentanyl widely throughout the United States, primarily through a vast network coming through the southwest border.

Last year, DEA agents attempted to disrupt every step of the supply chain. It brought the first-ever charges against Chinese chemical companies and their owners for supplying precursor chemicals. DEA agents also charged and extradited leaders, enforcers, and associates of the cartels, and tracked down the criminal organizations and individuals in communities nationwide who distribute fentanyl on American streets and advertise to sell it on social media channels.

The DEA also said “the fentanyl we see today is even deadlier than before. Fentanyl pills today are more potent.”

It also updated a previous statistic: DEA laboratory testing in 2023 found seven out of 10 pills tested contained a potentially deadly dose of fentanyl. This is an increase from six out of 10 pills in 2022, up from four out of 10 pills in 2021.

Two milligrams, roughly the weight of a mosquito, is considered a lethal dose. Illicit fentanyl is the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 45.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is also predicting record numbers of drug poisonings for 2023. For the 12-month period ending June 2023 it has estimated another 112,323 Americans will have died from drug overdoses with nearly 70% from fentanyl poisoning.

The DEA’s efforts are in addition to U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents seizing enough lethal drugs to kill more than 6 billion people in 2023, including 27,000 pounds of fentanyl at ports of entry nationwide.

It’s also in addition to state law enforcement officials also seizing record amounts of fentanyl, The Center Square has reported. Last year, in Arizona, one multiagency effort led to seizing enough illicit drugs, including fentanyl, to kill over 40 million people. In one single Arizona Department of Public Safety bust, enough fentanyl was seized to kill over 800,000 people.

In one single bust in Los Angeles, enough fentanyl was seized to kill over 600,000 people.

In two multiagency drug busts in Florida, enough fentanyl was seized to kill nearly double the state’s population.

In Texas, officials have seized more than 453 million lethal doses of fentanyl, enough to kill more than the populations of Canada and the United States.

Last year, Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody also led a coalition calling on the president to classify illicit fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction. Citing the border crisis and the record number of known or suspected terrorists coming through, the coalition argued any terrorist could use fentanyl in such a way to kill a large number of Americans.

Biden and Netanyahu Speak for the First Time Since December

(Headline USA) Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finally spoke Friday after a glaring, nearly four-week gap in direct communication.

The two’s relationship has increasingly shown signs of strain as Netanyahu has repeatedly rebuffed Biden’s calls for Palestinian sovereignty, rejecting Biden’s idealistic ‘solution’ to the conflict in Israel.

Neither side shows signs of budging.

Friday’s phone call came one day after Netanyahu said that he has told U.S. officials in plain terms that he will not support a Palestinian state as part of any postwar plan. Biden, for his part, in Friday’s call reaffirmed his commitment to work toward helping the Palestinians move toward statehood.

The leaders spoke frequently in the first weeks of the war. But the regular cadence of calls between Biden and Netanyahu has slowed considerably. Their 30- to 40-minute call Friday was their first conversation since Dec. 23.

Both sides are hemmed in by domestic political considerations.

The chasm between Biden, a radical-leftist, and Netanyahu, who leads the most conservative government in Israel’s history, has expanded as pressure mounts on the United States to use its considerable leverage to press Israel to wind down a war for its existence.

There is also growing impatience with Netanyahu in Israel over the lack of progress in freeing dozens of hostages still held by Islamic militants in Gaza.

“There is certainly a reason to be concerned,” says Eytan Gilboa, an expert on U.S.-Israeli relations at Israel’s Bar-Ilan University, “The more and more we see political considerations dominating the relationship between Biden and Netanyahu, which is likely to continue because of the upcoming presidential election and the weakness of both leaders, the more we will see them pulling apart.”

In their most recent calls, Biden’s frustration with Netanyahu has grown more evident.

Biden, meanwhile, faces American voters in November, in a likely rematch with former President Donald Trump. Netanyahu and Trump forged a close relationship during the Republican’s term in office.

Biden faces criticism from some on his left who believe he hasn’t pushed the Israelis hard enough to demonstrate restraint as it carries out military operations.

Key Democratic lawmakers, including Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy, this week warned that Netanyahu’s position on statehood could complicate negotiations in the Senate on a spending package that includes military aid for Israel.

Netanyahu, who has opposed calls for a two-state solution throughout his political career, told reporters this week that he flatly told U.S. officials he remains opposed to any postwar plan that includes establishment of a Palestinian state.

Netanyahu argues that a Palestinian state would become a launchpad for attacks on Israel. So Israel “must have security control over the entire territory west of the Jordan River,” Netanyahu said. “That collides with the idea of sovereignty. What can we do?”
