Trump Trolls Kamala w/ Mock Policy Website, Coronation Play-by-Play

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) As of Aug. 22, 2024, the day of her coronation at the Democratic National Convention, Kamala Harris still hasn’t released a policy page on her campaign website, so the Trump campaign decided to troll her, creating and releasing a platform website for her.

“Kamala Harris has yet to tell voters what her policies are, so we thought we’d help them out. Kamala Harris wants to open the borders, raise taxes and free criminals,” a Trump campaign national press secretary told Fox News.

“Stop Kamala’s Radical Agenda” website was launched on Aug. 21, 2024, detailing nine policy platforms for Harris’s campaign, such as releasing murderers from jails, abolishing the border, eliminating private health insurance and giving illegal aliens Social Security and Medicare.

Trump also announced he would provide a live play-by-play of her speech at the DNC on Aug. 22, 2024.

“We will start at 10 PM, Eastern, and be covering and commenting on some of the earlier Speeches made prior to hers,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He also mentioned that Harris became the nominee without receiving one vote, holding one press conference and having one interview, as Breitbart reported.

“She became the Nominee without receiving one Vote, stealing the Nomination from Crooked Joe Biden who earned it by getting 14 Million Votes. I am no fan of Biden, who was the Worst President in the History of the United States and, likewise, she is considered to be the Worst Vice President (and Border ‘Czar’) in the History of the United States, but Biden got ‘shafted,'” he wrote.

Trump then concluded his post by writing that Harris’s lies and her radical, far-left ideology will be exposed.

“We will expose all of her Radicalism, the horrible job she did at the Border, Crime, and Foreign Relations and her Weaponization against her Political Opponent, using corrupt Prosecutors and Courts in New York, Washington, DC, and Atlanta. I hope everybody will be following along on TRUTH, tonight!” he wrote.

Gaslighting AP Touts Chicago’s Mostly ‘Peaceful’ DNC Riots; Social Media Says Otherwise

(Ben Sellers, Headline USA) From boarded-up businesses and torn-down fences, to flag-burnings, bomb threats and bloody assaults, to hecklers forcing an early wrap on Nancy Pelosi’s interview with Stephen Colbert, the unrest in Chicago during the Democratic National Convention has been a maelstrom of festering chaos befitting of the party that birthed it with reckless social experiments, identity politics and tacit support for terrorists.

While the maggots may have come home to roost, making life uncomfortable for Democrat elites as they celebrate a successful intra-party coup d’état, one would hardly know from reading accounts of the DNC gathering in most mainstream media outlets.

Unlike the 1968 Democrat convention in Chicago, where the counterculture anti-war protests took center-stage (and ultimately helped Richard Nixon win in a landslide), the Left now controls most of the levers of power and major institutions in America, aggressively enacting a tight lockdown on unauthorized narratives as if it were a COVID-era Tim Walz.

Many mainstream media outlets have opted to remain silent about the violent clashes. But with counternarratives beginning to leak on social media, it fell on the propagandist Associated Press to report that there was nothing to see here.

The AP’s 256-word dispatch on Thursday, which included three bylined authors, bordered on comical in its belaboring of the “mostly peaceful protest” trope, repeating the word “peaceful” five times—or one reference per every 51.2 words. (For context, that is roughly the same number as the paragraph you are now reading.)

The pro-Palestinian puff piece echoed an embarrassing segment during the 2020 George Floyd riots in Minneapolis—when MSNBC’s Ali Velshi insisted that, despite the massive conflagration raging behind him, “it is not, generally speaking, unruly.”

In the aftermath of the Biden presidency, however, many have now wisened to the Left’s refusal to hold itself accountable—morally or otherwise—for the inevitable consequences of its rhetoric and policies.

While the emboldened media has gone on to gaslight about other significant-yet-politically-inconvenient episodes—most recently including the declining mental acuity of President Joe Biden and the apotheosis of his replacement, Kamala Harris, atop the 2024 ticket—its efforts have seen diminishing returns, forcing many once-revered news outlets to cut their staffs or shutter altogether.

The phenomenon itself helped propel the term “gaslighting” into the common vernacular, even earning it a distinction as Merriam–Webster’s 2022 “word of the year.”

And it has given rise to new memes in the conservative X-osphere, including the now-iconic phrase “Let’s go, Brandon”—which is more a commentary on the complicit media running interference for the Democratic power structure than it is a specific condemnation of the Biden administration.

Yet, ridicule notwithstanding, the danger of Democrats’ denialism and willful ignorance is quite real and ever-more palpable, shattering the lives of many who fall in the path of the Left’s long march, while ominously portending an even bleaker future should its efforts succeed.

As part of our ongoing effort to expose blatant media bias at leftist media outlets, the AP’s complete, unedited story on Chicago’s unrest is included below:

Chicago police say they’re ready for final day of protests at DNC following night of no arrests

(Associated Press) Chicago police said Thursday that they are not changing any of their tactics and are ready for a final night of pro-Palestinian demonstrations outside the Democratic National Convention, after a peaceful march that resulted in no injuries or arrests.

On Wednesday night, more than 2,000 pro-Palestinian protesters marched peacefully past a park where pro-Israel demonstrators had gathered earlier. That demonstration came a day after violent clashes between police and protesters led to 56 arrests at a much smaller, unsanctioned protest outside the Israeli Consulate in downtown Chicago.

Police Superintendent Larry Snelling said the protest Wednesday night ended without arrests and that no one was injured.

Snelling praised the organizers of the Wednesday protest, saying it’s an example of how people can hold First Amendment-protected demonstrations peacefully by collaborating in advance with law enforcement.

“Did we have a couple dustups? Sure, but those things were quickly rectified,” he said.

The biggest protest so far, which attracted about 3,500 people on Monday, was largely peaceful and resulted in 13 arrests, most related to a breach of security fencing. They did not gain access to the inner security perimeter at the United Center, where the convention is taking place.

Two people were arrested Sunday night during another mostly peaceful march.

The Coalition to March on the DNC, which organized the march on Monday, planned its second permitted demonstration of the week on Thursday, with a rally in a park near the United Center followed by a march through adjacent streets.

SCOOP: DOJ IG Finds FBI Systematically Mishandled Classified Info

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Talk about irony: The FBI, which was willing to use deadly force over Donald Trump allegedly mishandling classified documents, has been systematically mishandling similar information for years, according to bombshell findings released Thursday by Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz.

The DOJ-IG said it discovered the FBI’s mishandling of classified information while auditing a contract related to how the bureau destroys electronics containing “sensitive-but-unclassified” information, as well as classified national security information.

According to Horowitz’s audit, the FBI labels computers that handle such information when it sends them to a facility to be destroyed. However, it does not label internal hard drives extracted from those computers. The FBI also doesn’t properly track thumb drives and disk drives containing information of varying classification levels, according to Horowitz.

Compounding the security risk is the fact that those unmarked internal hard drives, thumb drives and disk drives often end up in a physically unsecured warehouse.

Horowitz said that when his staff visited an FBI “Media Destruction Team” facility last October, they found “non-accountable” hard drives and other electronic storage devices sitting in an open pallet-sized box. Horowitz said he’s not disclosing details about the facility since it’s not secured.

“A [property-turn-in] staff member told us that the pallet for the loose media was unsecured for extended periods, sometimes spanning days or even weeks because PTI would wrap the pallets and move them to the Facility shelves only when the box reached full capacity,” the Inspector General said.

During the same visit last October, Horowitz said his staff also found a container from January 2022 that identified its contents as “non-accountable.”

“Notably, the container’s shrink wrapping was torn, and boxes inside were visibly open and contained hard drives marked Secret,” he said.

Horowitz added that after his team spotted the box, the FBI’s Asset Management Unit “promptly secured” it with additional shrink wrap. However, the FBI’s PTI supervisor and contractor told Horowitz that they would not be aware if someone was to take hard drives from the pallets because these assets are not counted or otherwise tracked.

According to the DOJ-IG, at least 395 people have access to the FBI’s unsecured facility as of May, including 28 task force officers and 63 contractors from at least 17 companies.

“There is no physical barrier preventing FBI and non-FBI personnel and contractors from other Facility operations from accessing PTI’s work area and the pallets of unsanitized assets in the Facility shelving space,” he said.

And even though there is apparently a door to the Media Destruction Team’s work area, the FBI doesn’t close it to prevent non-Asset Management Unit personnel from accessing the area, the IG found.

If all those security failures weren’t enough, Horowitz also said one of the key surveillance cameras at the facility wasn’t working when his team visited. The FBI apparently told Horowitz last December that it was installing a new camera there, but it still wasn’t in place when the DOJ-IG made a follow-up visit in February.

“We believe that the combination of the FBI’s lack of accountability of the electronic storage media, lack of internal physical access control, and lack of sufficient video surveillance compounds the risk of media, potentially with sensitive and classified information, being lost or stolen without detection,” Horowitz concluded.

It appears as if the problems identified by Horowitz have been around for almost a decade, if not longer.

During his investigation, Horowitz said his staff determined that an interim accreditation was granted in 2015, but had expired in March 2016. An accredited open-storage secure area is a space with reinforced construction in which classified materials, up to and including at the Secret collateral level, may be stored.

“Following our observations, the FBI performed a site visit in November 2023 to confirm the remediation of the security enhancements required from a 2015 open storage inspection checklist. The FBI granted the Facility its final open storage accreditation in January 2024,” he said.

“The FBI stated that the lack of final accreditation was an administrative oversight and that enhancements had been completed in the interim. However, the FBI could not provide evidence of when the required enhancements were completed.”

FBI whistleblower Greg Roman told Headline USA that the label “Classified National Security Information” indicates some of the FBI’s unsecured boxes potentially contained Top Secret information.

“Second, it appears the location of this facility warehousing these hard drives, flash drives, floppy disks ie external media is located in Cheverly, MD just outside of Washington DC: Does that mean FBI offices from across the country were sending this ‘stuff’ to an undisclosed FBI facility near DC for proper destruction?” Roman added.

“That might indicate why none of was marked.”

The IG said his audit is still ongoing, but he wanted to alert the FBI about its problems so they can fix them promptly. The IG made a series of recommendations for how the FBI could improve its security and disposal procedures, and the bureau agreed with them all—such as placing its boxes of non-accountable hard drives inside secure cages at the warehouse.

To Avoid DOJ Entrapment, Donald Trump Says He Doesn’t Want Intelligence Briefings

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) Donald Trump told the Daily Mail on Wednesday that he doesn’t want briefings from U.S. intelligence agencies because it could lead to him being accused of leaking classified information.

‘I don’t want them, because, number one, I know what’s happening. It’s very easy to see what’s happening … because as soon as I get that, they’ll say that I leaked it,” he said.

“So, the best way to handle that situation is, I don’t need that briefing. They come in, they give you a briefing, and then two days later, they leak it, and then they say, ‘You leaked it’ … So the only way to solve that problem is not to take it I don’t want it understood. I’ll have plenty of them when I get in,” he said.

According to the Daily Mail, intelligence briefings have been regularly given to presidential nominees since President Harry Truman introduced them in the early 1950s.

Former presidents also typically receive briefings, but the Biden regime barred Trump from receiving them when it took control in 2021.

“I just think that there is no need for him to have the intelligence briefings,” Joe Biden reportedly said weeks after assuming office.

The FBI has shown itself to be willing to kill Trump over allegations of mishandling info.

In August 2022, the FBI raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach as part of the Justice Department’s investigation of him mishandling classified information. Search warrants unsealed earlier this year revealed that the FBI authorized the use of deadly force in that raid—in a move federal agents deemed “standard operating procedure,” but which received heavy criticism from conservatives and libertarians.

A federal judge in Florida dismissed the classified documents-related criminal case against Trump last month, saying the appointment of special counsel Jack Smith violated the Constitution. The DOJ has appealed that decision.

The case could be appealed and go all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. The basis for arguing that Smith was illegitimate was initially laid out in an amicus curiae brief by former Ronald Reagan attorney general Ed Meese that was filed with the Supreme Court for Trump v. U.S., the case considering Trump’s presidential immunity in Smith’s Washington, D.C., case.

Study Reveals the Myth of Federal Reserve Independence

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) According to Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, “The Federal Reserve’s monetary policy independence is an important and broadly supported institutional arrangement that has served the American public well.”

According to Professor Thomas J. Weber at Pace University Lubin School of Business, this is nothing but a myth.

In a recently published paper, Webster argues that the relationship between the Fed and the U.S. government is more like a captive’s relationship with his captor.

“Something like the Stockholm syndrome seems to describe the institutional relationship that exists between the U.S. Congress and the White House (the captors), and the Federal Reserve (the captives).”

He goes on to insist, “The Fed is just another branch of the U.S. government with a political agenda.”

Webster argues that “a more economic description of the Fed’s relationship with the executive and legislative branches is regulatory capture (also called agency capture).”

“This occurs when a government agency is politically co-opted into serving the special interests of the institution it is meant to be regulated.”

While the Federal Reserve isn’t supposed to regulate Congress, it is tasked with independently maintaining “price stability.” Webster asserts that the central bank abandons this mandate and instead prioritizes enabling government borrowing and spending. In effect, the central bank is the engine that drives the massive U.S. welfare-warfare state.

“To soften the increased debt service burden, the Fed purchases newly issued U.S. Treasury securities not sold to the public with ‘printing press’ money charging below-market interest rates. By inflating the money supply, a part of the increased financial burden is passed along to the household sector in the form of higher prices. The underwriting of congressional spending is at the heart of the symbiotic relationship that exists between the Fed, the president who nominates monetary policymakers, and the Senate that ratifies their appointment.”

Webster described a policy known as quantitative easing (QE). Without the Fed’s intervention by keeping its thumb on the bond market, the federal government wouldn’t be able to borrow and spend to the extent that it does.

Ben Bernanke ran the first QE operation in the U.S. in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis. When the Fed began buying U.S. Treasuries, Bernanke insisted the Fed was not monetizing debt. He said the difference between debt monetization and the Fed’s policy was that the central bank was not providing a permanent source of financing. He said the Treasurys would only remain on the Fed’s balance sheet temporarily. He assured Congress that once the crisis was over, the Federal Reserve would sell the bonds it bought during the emergency.

Of course, that never happened.

The Fed doubled down on quantitative easing during the pandemic. During the government shutdowns, the Fed immediately pushed interest rates to zero and pumped nearly $5 trillion into the U.S. economy through quantitative easing. In so doing, the central bank monetized a big chunk of the debt accumulated during the pandemic era. The Fed didn’t end QE until the end of 2021.

According to Webster, “The Fed was less concerned with the effect that expanding budget deficits were having on the general price level and more concerned with abetting the budget agenda of the White House and Congress.” He cites a FOMC insider who said it was politically difficult for the Fed to end QE “because the Congress and private-sector business interests had become addicted to cheap money.”

Webster isn’t just making wild assertions. The paper summarizes the results of an empirical investigation “into the relationship between fiscal and monetary policy” during the pandemic era in particular.

While he concedes that the results are “subject to  interpretation,” Webster concludes, “These results, however, are consistent with the supposition that the Federal Reserve was complicit in funding federal government deficits with printing press money.”

“The Fed is not the bastion of sound monetary policy. Rather, it is just another politically coopted agency of the federal government. From the onset of the GFC until the first quarter of 2022, the Fed unapologetically pursued a low-interest rate policy with little regard to the threat that it posed to price stability.”

Webster notes that the Fed essentially serves three clients: government, businesses, and households.

“Regrettably, the best interests of the government and business sectors take precedence over the concerns of the household sector.”

MAHARREY: Gov’t Erases More Than 800K ‘New Jobs’ from Existence

(Mike Maharrey, Money Metals News Service) The Bureau of Labor Statistics just zapped 818,000 jobs out of existence. That’s one heck of an eraser.

Month after month, we’ve been regaled with headlines extolling the strength of the U.S. job market. Virtually every month, the mainstream has enthusiastically reported “better than expected” job creation. This, we’re told, reflects the strength of the economy and the wisdom of Biden-Harris economic policies.

And now we get the inevitable revisions.

The BLS revises the numbers every month. As we have seen, the overwhelming majority of those revisions have been downward.

Once a year, the agency does a broader revision based on the results of the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages. Those updates recently came out and as it turns out, actual job growth was about 30 percent less than all those blazing headlines reported.

It was the biggest annual downward revision since 2009.

Based on the revised numbers, the U.S. economy added an average of 174,000 jobs each month. That compares to the originally reported average of 242,000.

CNBC sheepishly reported, “The report could be seen as an indication that the labor market is not as strong as the previous BLS reporting had made it out to be.“

Ya think?

A cynical person might think that the government agency is cooking the books to make the current administration look better than it is. We’ll leave you to draw what conclusion you may.

The professional and business services category saw the biggest downgrade, with 358,000 jobs erased. Hospitality, manufacturing, and trade transportation and utility categories also charted big downward revisions.

But you’ll be glad to know they didn’t erase any government jobs.

Of course, revisions get much less play in the media than the initial numbers. You rarely see big market moves because the BLS erased a bunch of jobs from the economy with a few clicks of its calculator. The revisions happen quietly in the back alleys. Most people don’t pay any attention to them. That creates the illusion that the labor market is much stronger than it is.

So, why should we trust any of these numbers, much less make decisions based on them?

And notice that the revisions are almost always down. If the BLS was making honest mistakes month after month, you would think sometimes they would underestimate the number of jobs created. But they always overestimate the numbers. If you flipped a coin and it came up heads 90 percent of the time, you’d start to wonder about the integrity of that coin, wouldn’t you?

It’s important to wrap your head around the pattern here.

Month after month, the government reports good news. Everybody celebrates. Markets move. Later, the government quietly revises everything downward and reports that the good news was really bad news.

And pretty much nobody pays attention.

It might be a good idea to pay attention — to the revisions too. Things aren’t nearly as rosy as the headlines would indicate.

Report: Some Secret Service Agents from Trump Shooting Placed on Leave

(Ken Silva, Headline USA) The Secret Service has placed several members of the Pittsburgh Field Office, which oversaw security preparations at the July 13 deadly Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on administrative leave, according to reporter Susan Crabtree.

Citing three unnamed sources in the “Secret Service community,” Crabtree reported Thursday that several non-Pittsburgh agents assigned to Trump’s permanent protective detail are still on the job, even though they, too, were involved in security planning at Butler.

“The differing treatment of the two teams is spurring internal dissension and speculation that the Pittsburgh office could bear the brunt of the serious security failures that day, even though there’s plenty of blame to go around,” Crabtree reported.

“Because members of the Pittsburgh Field Office shared the responsibility with the individuals from the Trump detail, sources are questioning why no one from the Trump detail has been put on administrative leave while several of their Pittsburgh counterparts have been,” she said.

“Even the innermost ring of security – those agents on the Trump detail who quickly used their bodies as human shields to protect Trump – are still on the job despite the obvious trauma of going through such a stressful event.”

Among the Secret Service agents still on duty are the unnamed female site agent for Butler, who is on Trump’s security detail.

In a letter earlier this month to Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe, Hawley called for the lead site agent to be suspended immediately. Hawley said whistleblowers have given him disturbing information about the Secret Service lead site agent’s track record.

“This lead site agent was well-known in campaign circles as lacking competence and experience in the role … The whistleblower further alleges that this individual was, as part of securing the site, specifically responsible for line-of-sight concerns,” Hawley said.

Hawley accused Rowe of jeopardizing the security of protectees by allowing the Secret Service site agent to continue working.

The senator’s letter came about a week after Rowe dodged his questions at a congressional hearing. There, Hawley specifically asked Rowe to name the agents who failed to confirm that the building from which the failed assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired shots at Trump was secured.

In response, Rowe claimed he did not want to single out any specific individual. “Sir, this could have been our Texas School Book Depository. I’ve lost sleep over that for the last 17 days, just like you have,” Rowe said, referencing the building from which Lee Harvey Oswald fatally shot President John F. Kennedy in 1963.

Viewership Down 22% from 2016 DNC Convention; Rumble Barred from Streaming

(Dmytro “Henry” Aleksandrov, Headline USA) It was recently revealed that not many people watched the first night of the Democratic National Convention, especially compared to how many Americans watched the party’s 2016 convention.

Axios reported that on Aug. 19, 2024, Democrats gathered in Chicago for their first in-person convention since 2016, and roughly 20 million people watched the charade. Those numbers are down 22% from the 26 million people who watched the convention in 2016 when Hillary Clinton was officially nominated by her party to go against Donald Trump.

Joe Biden was billed as the biggest speaker of the night. However, despite that, Biden’s farewell address to the delegates didn’t happen until very late on the East Coast after earlier speeches went longer than the DNC officials expected.

Between 11:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. EST, around 19.1 million people watched the convention live during Biden’s speech and final convention as Democratic Party leader.

The outlet reported that the DNC was carried across 13 broadcast and cable networks, like CNN, FOX Business, FOX News Channel, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, Scripps News, Univision, Newsmax, NewsNation and PBS.

Despite that, many people, especially young people, still didn’t want to watch the convention. Nielsen data revealed that the vast majority (76%) of voters who watched the convention live on its first night were over 55.

One of the possible reasons why so many people decided not to watch the DNC, aside from the fact that the Democrats became communist-sympathizing baby murderers, was that the convention barred the online video platform Rumble from streaming the convention.

“Rumble reached out numerous times to the DNC to have a presence at the Chicago convention, just like we did at the RNC. We finally received a response. The DNC wouldn’t let us stream but instead offered to sell us two convention tickets for $200,000 USD. We declined,” Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski wrote on Aug. 19, 2024.

In his statement to The Federalist, Pavlovski said that Rumble wanted to show its audience “what was happening at the DNC, not pay for a lobbying opportunity.”

“Rumble is about freedom and transparency, not restrictions and backroom deals,” he said.

Biden Energy Official Wants to ‘Queer’ Nuclear Weapons

(Headline USA) A Biden administration Energy Department official has called on the U.S. to “queer” and disarm its nuclear weapons, according to Fox News.

Just last year, Sneha Nair, who was appointed as special assistant for the National Nuclear Security Administration in February, advocated eliminating “white supremacy” in the nuclear field and urged government officials to incorporate “queer theory” into the federal government’s energy policy.

“Queer theory informs the struggle for nuclear justice and disarmament,” she wrote at the time. “Queer theory helps to shift the perception of nuclear weapons as instruments for security by telling the hidden stories of displacement, illness, and trauma caused by their production and testing.”

Nair also argued that the Biden administration should implement diversity, equity, and inclusion policies, which she claimed were “essential for creating effective nuclear policy” because they could “prevent disgruntled employees from becoming insider threats.”

She went on to claim that white staffers at nuclear facilities didn’t have the ability to properly evaluate national security threats from people of their same racial group, such as white supremacists.

“Diversifying the perspectives included in nuclear security decision-making can expand the definition of who or what constitutes a ‘threat’ for nuclear security,” she wrote.

“The notion of ‘threat’ and ‘security’ are defined by the dominant culture, which inherently sidelines how marginalized groups … perceive ‘threats,’” she continued. “An example of this is the threat posed by some white supremacist groups to nuclear facilities may go undetected if a white-majority workforce does not perceive these ideological leanings as indicators of a relevant nuclear security threat.”

In a June 2023 article titled “Queering Nuclear Weapons,” Nair claimed “queer theory” could help “shine a light on the harm done by nuclear weapons through uranium mining, nuclear tests, and the tax money spent” on nuclear weapons.

“The queer lens prioritizes the rights and well-being of people over the abstract idea of national security, and it challenges the mainstream understanding of nuclear weapons—questioning whether they truly deter nuclear war, stabilize geopolitics, and reduce the likelihood of conventional war,” she wrote.

“Queer theory also identifies how the nuclear weapons discourse is gendered: Nuclear deterrence is associated with ‘rationality’ and ‘security,’ while disarmament and justice for nuclear weapon victims are coded as ‘emotion’ and a lack of understanding of the ‘real’ mechanics of security.”

Pro-Hamas Protesters Interrupt Pelosi Interview w/Stephen Colbert

(Headline USA) Leftist pro-Hamas rioters interrupted a Tuesday night interview between former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and leftist late-night host Stephen Colbert at the Democratic National Convention.

As Pelosi was answering a question about her role in the pressure campaign to force President Joe Biden out of the 2024 race, shouting could be heard coming from the audience.

“For the people who can’t tell, there’s a protest going on in the audience,” Colbert told viewers.

Colbert then tried to appeal to the protesters in the room.

“We’re actually at a commercial break, and the subject is on Israel and Palestine and if you have a seat, we have to go to the commercial break,” he said. “When we come back, I’ll ask the next question I had on that subject, if you’ll listen.”

After the commercial break, Colbert asked Pelosi about the protests outside the DNC, which have resulted in dozens of arrests and drawn hundreds of left-wing activists threatening to withhold support for Vice President Kamala Harris at the polls because of the Biden administration’s refusal to condemn Israel.

“There is dissension over what is the proper use of American power, especially our protected power overseas, both firm and soft power,” Colbert said. “If the goal is the peaceful and prosperous future for both Israelis and Palestinians, what role does the United States play?”

Pelosi responded by stressing America’s longstanding “commitment to Israel,” the only westernized democracy in the Middle East and one of the country’s top strategic allies.

“It’s been in our security interest to do so,” Pelosi said, suggesting that the same terrorists who waged the Oct. 7 sneak attack on Israel might also target the U.S.

“Israel was attacked by a terrorist organization,” Pelosi continued. “We want the hostages freed. But we don’t want children killed in Gaza. And so we have to come up with a solution.”

The protesters then interrupted Pelosi again, leading Colbert to remark, “As you can see from the continuing protest out here, that answer is unsatisfying to some people. Would you like to respond to what they’re saying?”

But the activists wouldn’t let Pelosi continue with her response, proceeding to shout over her.

“Please don’t interrupt my guest,” Colbert snapped. “Madame Speaker, we’re a live show, and we have to go at this point. Please come again and we can continue the conversation.”

President Joe Biden acknowledged the anti-Israel protests taking place at the DNC in his speech on Monday night, claiming the protesters “have a point” about the conflict in Gaza.
