(Abdul–Rahman Oladimeji Bello, Headline USA) A witless attempt by MSNBC to link physical fitness to neo-nazism recently backfired as social media users immediately called out the left-wing media on its malarkey.
On Monday, the leftist media retweeted a link to an article written last year by Cynthia Miller-Idriss, who proclaims herself to be an “expert on extremism.” In this article, the expert writer claimed, “white supremacists’ latest scheme to valorize violence and hypermasculinity has gone digital.” Moreso, she alleged that conservative America exploits physical fitness to ensnare recruits.
In this article, Miller-Idriss wrote, “Physical fitness has always been central to the far right,” adding that Hitler used it to “create an army of millions” with “aggressive spirit and impeccably trained bodies.”
She further stated, “With recruitment now moving from physical gyms to chat rooms, live streamed fights, tournaments, festivals, and even combat sports video games, we’re seeing extremist fighting culture being combined with an entertainment culture that already valorizes violence and hypermasculinity.”
MSNBC’s retweet of this year-old article sparked several reactions from social media users as they roasted that left-wing network for such ridiculous assertions.
Several big names on Twitter also schooled the leftist cable network on Twitter. These names included the likes of Tesla/SpaceX CEO and “Chief Twit” Elon Musk, who tweeted, “MSNBC thinks you’re a nazi if you work out lmaooo.”
