Weiss Drops New Bombshell on Biden Bribery ‘Ongoing’ Investigation

'Weiss's letter 'confirms FD 1023 not closed as some democrats suggested...'

(Luis CornelioHeadline USA) In a letter addressed to the Senate Committee on the Judiciary, U.S. District Attorney David Weiss of Delaware declined to answer questions regarding a potentially incriminating FD-1023 informant file, citing the ongoing investigation by the DOJ.

Weiss’s recent comments effectively refuted several claims made by certain Democrats, including Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., who falsely suggested that the criminal investigation into a $10-million bribery scheme involving then-Vice President Joe Biden in 2015 had been closed by the Trump-era DOJ.

“Your questions about allegations contained in FBI FD 1023 Form relate to an ongoing investigation. As such, I cannot comment on them at this time,” Weiss said in the letter dated July 10.

Critics have said Weiss—or others in the DOJ who may be directing his actions—are using the case’s open status not to actively investigate charges but to slow walk the allegations until such point as they are rendered moot by statute of limitations or a change in political trade-winds.

In keeping it hope, Weiss is effectively hindering a parallel investigation by the House Oversight Committee and interfering with their ability to subpoena key witnesses and documents, including the president’s son, Hunter Biden himself.

Nonetheless, in terms of political optics, it may break in the GOP’s favor.

Catherine Herridge, a correspondent for CBS News who initially reported on the letter, highlighted that Weiss’s letter “confirms FD 1023 not closed as some democrats suggested.”

Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., took to Twitter on Tuesday to announce the new revelations, stating, “Just as I said, Jamie Raskin LIED about the FBI briefing he & I had. The FBI told us the FD 1023 was part of an ongoing investigation. The media should take what Raskin says about the Biden investigation with a grain of salt.”

Former Attorney General William Barr also refuted the unfounded assertion that the Trump-era DOJ had closed the investigation. “It’s not true. It wasn’t closed down,” clarified Barr in an interview with the Federalist on June 7. He further explained that the troubling allegations outlined in the informant file had been referred to Delaware for “further investigation.”

Democrats had previously attempted, without success, to dismiss the FD-1023 file, claiming it was a partisan witch hunt orchestrated by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. However, federal government whistleblowers informed lawmakers that the informant was a “highly credible” individual who had been involved in several criminal investigations dating back to the Obama-era FBI.

On the other hand, Biden has dismissed the allegations, responding to reporters’ inquiries about the bribery claims on June 8 with a smirk, “Where’s the money?”
