(Jacob Bruns, Headline USA) A congressional probe headed by House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, has uncovered ties between then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s campaign and a letter from security experts dismissing the claims about Hunter Biden’s laptop, Just the News reported.
Jordan, who expects to release a report later this month on the possible collusion, suggested that the handling of the laptop investigation—which has been systematically ignored or downplayed by the corporate media, in partnership with the FBI-=-was partisan from the very beginning.
“It was all done with politics, and it looks like there was some some real connections with the Biden campaign,” Jordan said in an interview last week.
The timing of the letter, whose signers are known as the “Dirty 51,” was meant to confuse voters, he suggested, causing them to doubt the connection between the Biden family and the corruption revealed in the contents of the laptop, while giving left-wing media and social media companies the cover they needed to justify suppressing the story altogether.
Biden even cited the deceptive letter as proof that the laptop was a Russian disinformation scheme when pressed about it during a debate with then-President Donald Trump.
“There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that this—what he’s accusing me of—is a Russian plant,” Biden claimed.
“… Five former heads of the CIA—both parties—say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage,” Biden continued. “Nobody believes it except him and his good friend Rudy Giuliani.”
However, Jordan specifically noted two connections between the Bidens and the expert-approved letter, both Obama-era CIA officials, who have aided the investigation: former acting Director Mike Morrell and Nick Shapiro, a former adviser to ex-Director John Brennan.
Both held their high-up positions at the agency during the Obama administration.
“It seems to me that one of the key players here was Michael Morell, that he was one kind of coordinating this, working this together,” Jordan said.
“And then there are a few other folks. We have talked to Nick Shapiro,” Jordan added. “Mr. Shapiro, I think, was the one kind of coordinating the outreach to the legacy media and how they wanted this story presented.”
Jordan and his colleagues sent a letter in February warning the former deep state officials that their actions would be investigated at greater length in the coming months.
“The Judiciary Committee made a prior request to you for documents and information about the public statement you signed in October 2020 that falsely implied the New York Post’sreporting about Hunter Biden was the product of Russian disinformation,” Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, wrote in the letter.
He obtained information for Morell and Shapiro via “transcribed interview before the Committees.”
Morell is now a contributor for CBS News. Shapiro runs a political consulting firm.
