(John Ransom, Headline USA) The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, signed a decree that merged all national media under the state, which will result in a unified “information policy” for all press in Ukraine, reported Reuters.
The move comes after Zelensky banned 11 political parties, claiming “collusion” with the Russians by the political parties.
“The activities of those politicians aimed at division or collusion will not succeed, but will receive a harsh response,” said Zelenskyy via video to the nation, according to the Daily Mail.
So, the good guy, who America has been rooting for, who is upholding freedom, democracy and the American way, has now outlawed political parties and nationalized all media outlets in the country.
On Feb. 24, after consulting with President Joe Biden, Zelenskyy announced that the country would be operating under martial law.
“We’re introducing martial law on the whole territory of our country,” said Zelenskyy, according to CNN. “A minute ago I had a conversation with President Biden. The US have already started uniting international support.”
Previously, Zelenskyy had banned three pro-Russian TV stations in Ukraine before fighting even broke out.
“Three pro-Russian TV channels have gone off the air in Kyiv after pro-Western President Volodymyr Zelenskiy signed a Ukrainian security council decree imposing sanctions for five years on eight media and TV companies,” reported DW.com.
Under the recent decree, all the press will be operating under the name United News. It has an app you can download.

It’s a move that Zelenskyy says is justified by “the direct military aggression of the Russian Federation, the active dissemination of misinformation by the aggressor state, [and] distortion of information, as well as justifying or denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine…” according to a Ukrainian press statement quoted by The Wrap.
In the meantime, the US press has been praising Zelenskyy as a Churchillian figure, which is ironic, because in addition to being a famous British statesman, Churchill was once one of the most popular syndicated writers in the world, published literally in hundreds of newspapers worldwide.
It’s fairly easy to guess which side Churchill, who is not a fan of the state controlled British Broadcasting Corporation, would come down on as to freedom of the press.
