Trump-backed ‘ERIC’ Wins Mo., Tudor Dixon Takes Mich. to Face Gov. Whitmer

'Now we have the opportunity to truly hold Gretchen Whitmer accountable for the pain she has inflicted on each and every one of us during the past four years... '

(Mark Pellin, Headline USA) Proving again that former President Donald Trump is still a shrewd businessman at heart, his endorsement of “ERIC” in a contentious GOP Senate primary paid dividends when Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt thumped the state’s embattled former Gov. Eric Greitens.

Schmitt and Greitens had been furiously trying to claim as their own a cryptic endorsement that Trump issued leading up to Tuesday’s tilt:

I trust the Great People of Missouri, on this one, to make up their own minds, much as they did when they gave me landslide victories in 2016 and 2020 Elections, and I am therefore proud to announce that ERIC has my Complete and Total Endorsement,” Trump wrote, without clarifying which Eric he was backing.

Eric won by a hefty margin, with Schmitt reeling in 45% of the vote, nearly doubling the total of his closest competition, Rep. Vicky Hartzler. Scandal-plagued Greitens, who appeared to be on an upswing in some polls, limped into third place with less than 20% of the vote.

In the battleground state of Michigan, which Trump allegedly lost in 2020 by less than 155,000 votes, conservative political commentator Tudor Dixon, a successful businesswoman, breast-cancer survivor and mom of four girls.

“Frankly Michigan, we deserve better,” Dixon said at her victory party.

“Now we have the opportunity to truly hold Gretchen Whitmer accountable for the pain she has inflicted on each and every one of us during the past four years.”

Dixon, who received support from former Trump Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and a late-breaking endorsement and tele-rally from Trump, ran a campaign that roasted incumbent Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for her oppressive COVID mandates and disgraceful response to the pandemic. Dixon’s Twitter bio-profile notes that she is the “Granddaughter of Whitmer nursing home victim.”

Another Trump-backed candidate, Army veteran of the Iraq War and businessman John James took a big win in Michigan’s 10th Congressional District, eyeing a potential key House swing seat.

James will face Democrat Carl Marlinga, a retired judge, in a district that was redrawn and which most elections analyst agree leans Republican.
