Texas Targets Parents Who Subject Kids to Abusive Transgender Procedures

(Joshua Paladino, Headline USA) Texas has launched investigations into parents who claim to have transgender children in accordance with Gov. Greg Abbott‘s decision to classify gender transitioning as “child abuse,” Newsmax reported.

Abbott told the the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services in a letter that “‘sex change’ procedures constitute child abuse under existing Texas law.”

Among the abusive medical interventions, Abbott included gender mutilation surgeries, in which surgeons destroy natural sex organs and replace them with opposite-sex organs, as well as masectomies and puberty-blocking drugs.

In accordance with the scientific evidence, he stated that surgeries and puberty blockers cause permanent infertility along with other life-long mental and physical illnesses.

Abbott told DFPS that the law requires its agents to “investigate the parents of a child who is subjected to these abusive gender-transitioning procedures.”

One mother claimed that her employer, a Texas family services agency, suspended her and a Child Protective Services agent asked her about her 16-year-old daughter’s transition.

The American Civil Liberties Union helped the mother file a lawsuit against Abbott in hopes of stopping the investigation into the family’s alleged child abuse and of generally invalidating Abbott’s order.

The girl’s family said she feels “traumatized” that she “could lose access to the medical treatment that has enabled her to thrive.”

It is unclear if the child is a biological male or female because the investigators tried to determine whether the child is “currently transitioning from male to female,” which indicates that the daughter may be a son.

One licensed psychologist, who works with the child undergoing the sex-change experiments, wrote in the complaint that Abbott’s directive would require his or her patients to be reported to DFPS or CPS.
