(Luis Cornelio, Headline USA) T-Mobile has become the latest corporation to relocate away from San Francisco’s downtown district over skyrocketing crime rates in the California city.
In statements to the news, a spokesperson for T-Mobile told Fox News that the corporation “recently reshared our nationwide retail strategy to better care of customers.”
The T-Mobile flagship store is in the Union Square neighborhood and will soon direct customers to other locations in the region, the SFGate reported Monday.
“This includes plans we’ve made in this area and a few others to move away from the Signature Store format in some cities to instead serve customers through a nearby Experience store,” the spokesperson claimed.
T-Mobile joined a dire list of 19 corporations that have left the downtown area because of rampant violent crime and woke prosecutors’ unwillingness to prosecute cases, which inflicted several economic repercussions on the city.
Nordstrom, Office Depot, Saks off 5th, Whole Foods and Banana Republic are among the several companies that fled the downtown area, according to a list compiled by Business Insider.
According to the SFGate, Nordstrom store executive Jamie Nordstrom said in a statement that “the dynamics of the downtown San Francisco market have changed dramatically over the past several years, impacting customer foot traffic to our stores and our ability to operate successfully.”
A spokesperson for Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, the parent company of the Westfield Mall, where Nordstrom was located, said that several stores were shutting down because of “unsafe conditions.”
“A growing number of retailers and businesses are leaving the area due to the unsafe conditions for customers, retailers, and employees, coupled with the fact that these significant issues are preventing an economic recovery of the area,” the spokesperson continued.
The news prompted a flurry of tweets from several conservatives, including from freshman Rep. Kevin Kiley, R-Calif., who said, “The home of Newsom and Pelosi is in absolute free fall.”

Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., said woke policies are at the heart of the the downfall of the downtown area of San Francisco.
Professor Pedro Domingos tweeted Saturday that “San Fracisco is dying,” also posting a graph of how many stores had shut downed.

“If you want to ruin America, you’d defund law enforcement,” Scott said last month. “The far Left did exactly that in San Francisco and families are paying the price.”
